Speaker 00s - 27.2s

Welcome everybody to episode 198 of TLDR podcast. We are slowly but surely getting closer to that double century mark. Things that happened in the sports world today like that Tyler does, the diving back speed the reds today. Not even in history, just right now, because it's on my screen.

Speaker 427.92s - 32.66s

It is history now. I didn't make anything witty. So it's technically history because the game is over.

Speaker 033.1s - 43.58s

So if anyone is a dimebacks or Reds ORG fan, maybe you're happy, maybe you're sad. Don't know. Trayden PERSON, let's start with you. How you doing, buddy? How's your weekend? It was good.

Speaker 244.68s - 70.46s

I mean, besides golfing with James, not much. I was able to relax a little bit. Got a busy weekend helping my parents out again as they look to get their home ready for a big sale as they move down to our neck of the woods-ish. So got some work. That's what we were born to do, just to help our parents out with whatever they need, right? I mean, that's just kind of how it goes.

Speaker 071.34s - 80.1s

Yeah, I mean, they helped you out with everything you needed for a good portion, and then it switches, and then eventually you pay a nurse to help them out with whatever they do.

Speaker 481.48s - 90.12s

Luckily, we're far from that. Yeah, that's very, very, very far down the road. James, how was golfing? Did you beat Trayden PERSON? How much money did you take?

Speaker 191.02s - 93.84s

Well, so we actually go to Tyler, too.

Speaker 094.3s - 95.66s

Yeah, trade. God damn it.

Speaker 196.14s - 97.64s

Trayden PERSON didn't mention that, and I don't know.

Speaker 098.08s - 100.1s

I don't keep back of all your social schedules.

Speaker 1100.6s - 107.5s

You do. You do follow me on, on Find my friends, so that's weird. But Tyler actually beat everybody. Tyler had a phenomenal goal.

Speaker 2107.54s - 116.98s

Hell yeah. That's why I didn't bring it out. Yeah. Tyler beat me by, I think, three strokes, and then he beat Trayton by 25. So that's what happened. That was really fun, though.

Speaker 4117.28s - 122.06s

It was a good golf day in LA Habra GPE, I should say.

Speaker 1123.5s - 125.92s

That sounds great. Tyler, how

Speaker 0125.92s - 130.04s

pleased were you of yourself at the end of that? Very much so.

Speaker 3130.58s - 161.18s

The fact that I shot at 87 after not golfing, Swina Golf Club, since Thanksgiving, pretty awesome. So, yeah, it was fun to kick both James and trade nasses who play a lot more often than I do. So that was great. I enjoyed it. But honestly, it was really fun to hang out with those guys.Don't get to have a whole lot of face-to-face hangout time during baseball season. So I had a random Saturday off for our barry week. So took advantage of that. And it was a lot of fun. And it was also Star Wars Day. So even better.

Speaker 0162.26s - 204.3s

It was Star Wars Day. It was also most importantly, just to me, Orthodox Easter on the fifth, which is I'm not Greek NORP or religious at all. It's just a day that my friends and I get really drunk. And this particular Orthodox Easter, I taught a five-year-old how to take a jello shot, without alcohol in it, obviously. So that was an experience for myself. But we'll move on from that. Tyler, we're starting with you, baseball. We're getting close to Trayden PERSON's wedding anniversary, which means it's almost officially real, but take us through MLV this week. That is true. In a couple weeks, we're definitely

Speaker 3204.3s - 295.18s

to get to that point, and we're going to talk about probably fakers or contenders kind of segment at that point. But yeah, we're a little bit over a full month of the MLB ORG season. So it's exciting. And so we're going to talk about a little bit, kind of this biggest storylines we have so far in this early season. We're talking about a big trade that went down recently. And then we got another city connect Jersey GPE to rate. So that should be fun. But first, everyone's favorite segment, the series picks of the week. Recap last week. James is only one with a total winning record. You were two and one. Or sorry, Alex PERSON. Excuse me. Alex was the only one with the winning record, two and one.My bad. James and Tradeayden PERSON, I'm getting you guys all fucking mixed up, went one and two each. I went 2 and 2. The only series I picked correct was Dodger ORG.I was picked him the sweep, so I got the extra bonus point, which is even better because it was like the Dodgers ORG. So I got the bonus point there. So I was 2 and 2. The standings, no one has changed spots yet.So Alex, you're still at the top of 11 and 4. You're killing it. James, a respectable 9 and 6. Trading you are 6 and 10. You're right down there with me. I'm 6 and 11.So I'm still in the bottom. But that extra bonus point helped me a ton. So I'm at least hide with you in the win column. So still a lot of season left. So let's get to next week's series picks. The first one being the Braves and the Mets, little NL East ORG showdown.Alex PERSON, who do you got in this one?

Speaker 0296.34s - 303s

Even though the Braves ORG just got swept by the Dodgers, I'm going to pick the Braves. They own the Mets ORG. James.

Speaker 3303.62s - 308.2s

Brave sweep. Brave sweep. Trade in. Braves ORG, they own the Mets. James. Braves sweep. Brave sweep. Trade in. Braves ORG.

Speaker 1309.48s - 312s

All right, well, it's going to be boring, but we're all going to go Braves ORG here.

Speaker 0312.36s - 314.66s

I want to be different, but I got to catch some ground.

Speaker 1314.78s - 316.34s

I can't take a chance on that one.

Speaker 2316.66s - 317.34s

Not worth it.

Speaker 3317.78s - 335.82s

Next one. That's how you catch ground, though. Yeah, but sometimes there's like 50-50 ones. That one I would not. I don't think the Mets ORG have a chance. You know what I mean?Next, we have the Arizona Diamondbacks at the Orioles ORG. Just kind of a random fun one I thought would be cool. James, what you got?

Speaker 1336.38s - 339.16s

I got the Orioles ORG in this one. Trading.

Speaker 3340.04s - 341.24s

I'll take Diamondbacks ORG here.

Speaker 0343.34s - 343.7s

Alex PERSON.

Speaker 3344.54s - 346.58s

This is my sweep with Baltimore ORG.

Speaker 0348.46s - 349.8s

Baltimore ORG sweep.

Speaker 3350.6s - 371.8s

And I am also going to go Baltimore ORG. And then the last one we have is Yankees and Rays ORG. This should be a really good series. I believe we had this series a little bit earlier. But the Rays ORG have been playing a lot better. They kind of caught up a little bitin the standing. So it should be a good divisional matchup. Trey PERSON, do you got here? Yankees ORG sweep.

Speaker 2373.2s - 373.76s

All right.

Speaker 3376.76s - 377.24s

Alex PERSON.

Speaker 0379.76s - 381.84s

Yankees ORG. James.

Speaker 3382.56s - 383s

Rays ORG.

Speaker 0384.8s - 386.2s

I'm also going to go raise here.

Speaker 3386.3s - 451.98s

I picked the raise earlier in the season. They did not win it, but I'm going to double down, go with the raise here. I feel like they've been playing hot lately, so I think they can get a series dub in New York GPE. All right. So let's move on to some more baseball news. Luis Arise has been traded from the Miami Marlins to the San Diego Padres ORG.It was a big, big trade. Obviously, Luis Arise, one of the better hitters in the National League ORG, now going to the San Diego Padres ORG for a bunch of prospects. So kind of wanted to throw it around the horn, kind of looking at it from both perspectives. The Marlins ORG, obviously, you know, they trade away their best player. You know, are they ever going to try and win? It's kind of seems like an ownership that's not really trying. They definitely have some peace there to build around, but they never really seem to commit to actually wanting to put a good team on the field, especially in recent memory. So that's question number one and number two. How much does this help the Padres ORG?Obviously, they're a little bit behind the Dodgers ORG there in the division, but, you know, certainly a contender for a playoff spot, does this really help them or does it help them a little bit? Um, so let's start with you. On the Marlins ORG side,

Speaker 0452.3s - 472.94s

uh, no, they're not trying to win. Um, their GM or president of baseball operations or some guy pretty much came out and said like, look, we're not going to make the playoffs this year. And they're not. They're like six and 50 already. That's not exactly right, but it's pretty close. They're bad. I mean,

Speaker 4472.94s - 478.8s

I just watched obviously my favorite team sweep them and it was, it felt like a major league team

Speaker 0478.8s - 599.06s

playing against a double A team. So no, the Marlins ORG are not trying to win anytime in the near future. That's just, this is just what the Marlins ORG are not trying to win anytime in the near future. That's just, this is just what the Marlins do. They make one playoff run like they did last year and then do nothing in the offseason. Don't build upon the success they've had. Don't resign their guys. To be fair, their pitching staff is really hurt. So no, they're not trying to win. On the Padre ORG side, I think it's a great fit. The Padres ORG just kind of don't care about positions. They just kind of care about getting bats and lineups. It seems like they have six short stops in three second basement, and that's all they have, and they just put them on the field and kind of hope for the best. And it's been mildly successful to start the season. You know, obviously this Padres ORG lineup is filled with superstar, you know,$30 million a year player. And those guys bombed. Those guys mash, Machado, Bogart's, Tatis. Luis Araze PERSON is not that guy, but what he does do is get on base. And that's what they brought him in here to do is hit singles, get on on base and get driven in by the guys that they pay a lot of money to. So I think on the Padre side, it's a great fit for their lineup. And like Luis Araise PERSON is just like an annoyingplayer to play against because he doesn't strike out. He fouls a bunch of balls off. So I think that would work great for the Padres ORG. I do think they eventually will need more pitching, just based on their starting pitching depth has not been great. Joe Musgrove PERSON's heard again, their 20th in ERA, which is not going to be successful. But the Padres ORG, I think, also look at the Giants and the Diamondbacks ORG and say, oh, they're not off to a great start. This might be time to kind of pounce over these teams that they, you know, at the beginning of the season, like any one of those three kind of felt like could be secondplace in the National League West. And the Padres ORG made a move. And that's what they're known to do. So I think it's a good fit for the Padres ORG for sure. I just eventually they'll need more pitching.

Speaker 3600.94s - 613.5s

James, obviously, you know, with the Marlins ORG here, just getting rid another player, obviously. We kind of already know what's going on there. You know, is this something like with Marlins ORG, you just hope eventually they're going to turn around, or do you just not even give a shit about that?

Speaker 1614.28s - 647.08s

I mean, eventually they will turn it around, but what they're going to do, like Alex PERSON said, it's just to sell everybody again. They're never going to commit to just one team that they can build around. I think the only person that's really safe from being traded on this team is Josh Chisholm PERSON. That is it.And he might retire Marling PERSON, great. But the chances of that happening is pretty high because he's kind of the guy. But other than that, there's nobody else. And they're going to continue adding pieces and get pieces from their farm system thatwill get good and then they'll trade it away. It's just the never-ending cycle of the barnlands being the mallins. cycle, the balance being the moment. So, no, I don't care.

Speaker 3647.52s - 677.28s

Fair enough. Trayden PERSON, the, Luisarise PERSON, you know, definitely one of the more unique hitters, not a big power guy, just really tries to hit for average. One of the batting title last year. You know, a lot of guys who compared him to Tony Gwyn PERSON, which is Aaronuk PERSON, now that he's on the Padres ORG,who Tony Gwyn played for his entire career. So I'm not trying to say he's going to be Tony Gwyn, which is Ironock now that he's on the Padres, who Tony Gwynn PERSON played for his entire career. So I'm not trying to say he's going to be Tony Gwynn PERSON, but, you know, Padreys here, obviously, I think they're 20 and 20. Does this kind of solidify for you, them as a wild card spot after this trade?

Speaker 2681.12s - 759.7s

It's tough because you're dealing with a pretty tough a pretty tough you know you have you have a tough rival in the Dodgers ORG obviously you're not winning the you're not winning the division no matter how much James is going to bet on you and then you look you look throughout and I just think that there's just a lot of depth throughout the entire conference I guess national league and is one, you know, hitter for volume going to do enough to, to sway this team in one direction? I don't think so. I think, I think I agree with Alex PERSON and that the pitching needs to be dealt with as well. I think,I think he's going to at least release some pressure in terms of, you know, if he's getting on base or if he's getting singles or whatever, he's keeping, he's running up pitch counts against pitchers. I think that's going to help his team in the long runin terms of, in terms of the offensive side. He'll also fit in the outfield as a depth piece, which I think is, you can never have too much of that, especially if he's going to be asolid DH, at least enough to again, to get on base and to run up pitch counts. But I think that they're going to need to do a little bit more to become competitive. This National League is getting deeperand I just think that they're going to need a little bit more than just a volume hitter to get over the hump.

Speaker 3760.76s - 792.54s

I like it. Yeah, obviously, you know, the Padre ORG is going to try and make this trade for left-handed hitter work this time. Juan Soto did fine in San Diego GPE, but obviously kind of just the chemistry didn't quite work out. So it'll be interesting to see bringing in then Luis de Rise PERSON,how that's going to match up. But certainly a team to look out for in the National League ORG. As I mentioned, the Padres are 20 and 20 as we enter here on Wednesday, May 8th. The Miami Marlins 10 and 29. So Alex PERSON, you were close. If they go on a 30-game losing streak, you will be correct in your assessment there,

Speaker 0792.7s - 795.62s

which, you know, might have exaggerated a little bit.

Speaker 3795.94s - 893.66s

Oh, okay, got you. No, all right. So what we got next. We got the City Connect jerseys from the Tampa Bay Rays ORG, ladies gentlemen. So I'm going to share my screen with you guys. And we're going to take a look at the Tampa Bay Rays ORG.Early in the season, we got a lot of these to go on. So the latest to drop them are the Rays ORG. And they currently have worn them for five games in a row because they keep winning while wearing the jersey. They're currently 5-0 undefeated wearing these unis. So I think these are pretty cool.Kind of a dark gray, kind of a really cool texture. I don't really know how you describe that texture. It's almost like a granulated, almost like snake skin sort of, but not quite snake skin. But I think it's really cool. Then you got the neon green and the neon purple and blue. Popping the Tampa Bay GPE is in kind of a fire font.Obviously, let me move down to the hat. This is a picture of it kind of all in full gear. So kind of the dark gray top and bottom with the streak down the side of the pan. That's also kind of highlights those Tampa Bay GPE colors. The back of the jersey there with the neon green looks pretty cool. The number highlighted in that neon as well. And this is the hat. It's the kind of the silhouette of a ray with the Tampa Bay GPE bridges that kind of make up the whole shape of it. It's black, with the purple bill, and the neon green and blue as well.So guys, what do you guys think of these ones? James, let me start with you. I think these are fantastic.

Speaker 1894.18s - 935.4s

We talked about it on Saturday, Tyler, and Trayden PERSON. But these are great. I like the fact that it's not just like a plain black on the background of it. It's, as Tyler said, granulated. And you can, in the light, you can't see like the whiteness of it, the soberness of it. So's as I said, granulated, granulated. And you can, in the light, you can't see like the whiteness of it, the silverness of it. So it kind of brings a shine to the entire thing. But the neon with the black is a huge thing. I love that. And this has purple, which I'm a huge fan of. The one thing I would change though is having the numbers be shine more on the back side, because you can't really see the numbers from far away from the back. But other than that, I love this. I love the hat, I think, is genius. The way they put the bridges on there and made a stingray. Like, that is very creative. Overall, I think this is going to be an 8.9 for me.

Speaker 3936.34s - 937.74s

8.9 for James.

Speaker 2938.16s - 1016.8s

Trey PERSON, what do you got? Yeah, these are incredible, guys. The neon, the color, the gradient that you mentioned or the, I don't know. I guess, again, I don't know how to explain it either. I almost think like faded denim to an extent. It has that kind of vibe. But, you know, of course, I'm going to look at like where they were going with in terms of the, in terms of the city connects. And it turns out that they're really diving into the skateboard culture of Tampa Bay GPE, which is a big thing. I didn't really know about that, but apparently it's a pretty deep culture there in Tampa Bay GPE. And everything kind of check marks those boxes. The colors just screams, you know, it just screams that type of, that type of, you know, a culture and vibe. The logo orthe Tampa Bay GPE written across the way there. The use of the, uh, uh, the use of the type of, you know, culture and vibe. The logo or the Tampa Bay written across the, across the way there. The use of the, of a ray on the hat with the purple, with the green, it's just, this is just fantastic. This is a 9.2 for me, just because they really dove into the connection, to the connection of the city. The colors are fantastic. And it's not obnoxiously, you know, out there, but they did go there. You know what I mean? Like we talk about that Jersey GPE is not going there enough or they're gone so far that it's like, what the hell are you doing? This is that perfect,

Speaker 31016.92s - 1023.26s

perfect balance. Love it. Alex PERSON, what do you got? I agree with the boys. I think this one is fantastic.

Speaker 01023.7s - 1085s

I like that the helmets and the hats match. I feel like some of those have not done that in the past. The hat is a 10 out of 10. I would buy the hat in a heartbeat. I agree with James too. I wish the number on the back kind of popped. It sort of fades into the players back a little bit. Also, I think just because of like the name is so neon-y that it's sort of like kind overpowers it. But the gradient on the name or on the number looks cool. It's just like it's just a little too dark. Like they kind of could have pushed that a little bit more.I think the purple and the green match really well. I, yeah, the, the bridge in the, in the ray on the hat is super cool. The skateboarding ray on the pants is super cool. Dude, I don't know who this picture is that you have shown right here, but that guy's got quads for days.He does. Damn. Holy shit. Like your fucking jacked. Anyway, I agree with everything. I'm also going to give it a 9.2.That was going to be my score before trade and set it. So I'm going to keep it that. All right. Yeah, I think we all agree give it a 9.2. That was going to be my score before trade and set it. So I'm going to keep it at that.

Speaker 31086.06s - 1180.22s

All right. Yeah, I think we all agree. These are amazing. I saw them from the get-go. Loved them. Everything about all you guys say. I think they're just really cool. I think my favorite part is that texture of the jersey.Like I said, it's almost like a dark snake scanner, faded denim. I don't know what you would call that, but I love it. I think it's super unique and it works super well with everything else that's going on that you guys say. These might be my favorite city connect jerseys we've had so far. I'm going to give them a 9.7. I really think these are fantastic. They're as close to as perfect as you can get. Like I said, I agree with you guys about the number. That's the only thing that I'm like, oh, that could have been better. But that's really it. Everything else about it is perfect. And I thought they were just fantastically done. Well done, Tambay PERSON. This blows out the best this year by far. I believe some other team came out with a uniform recently, but I already forgot who it was. But I'll figure that out next week. We will, I think it was the Tigers ORG. Yes, I was not again. Thank you, Alex PERSON. So we'll get those next week. But if you guys have not seen the Tampa Race, see Connect jerseys, Google that shit because it is by year. So one last thing before we wrap out up the baseball segment, just real quick. Obviously, as I mentioned, the beginning of the segment, we've been through just a little bit over one month of baseball so far here in 2024.Just early on, what is your biggest storyline that has happened so far in Major League Baseball ORG? Trayton PERSON, what do you got?

Speaker 21181.14s - 1239.36s

For me, it's actually two teams, specific to players on their team that are not looking too great off the hop, despite their team actually in great positions. That's Ronald Lucunya Jr. I just don't think, I think that he's stealing bases like crazy, but his slugging percentage is way off of what it was last year. And it just doesn't seem like he quite has the power of so far this year.Obviously, there's still time. But I'm also looking at Aaron Judge PERSON. I mean, the Yankees have looked really good and much better than last year. But Judge PERSON is just not getting it done. He's only, he's batting only 220 with a 350 OBP for reference his career marks around 279 and 399. So quite a drop off so far and the Yankees ORG are still doing well.I think that actually both well for the Yankees ORG. And once you get him going, woof, like watch out. The Yankees ORG might be a big, big threat. I like it.

Speaker 31239.5s - 1253.18s

Slow starts. You know, we'll never know what that was going to be into. Maybe they're season-long slumps or just a month. But yeah, we'll see how that goes. I agree. Ronald Cunia has been weirdly quiet early after his MVP campaign last year. Alex PERSON, what do you got, biggest storyline so far?

Speaker 01254.18s - 1318.66s

Yeah, I think unfortunately it's starting pitcher injuries. Big names getting hurt. And it felt like for like two weeks there was like every day some big name was going down with an elbow injury. Obviously, Garrett Cole starting the season off still hasn't thrown a pitch yet. You know, Spencer Strider, Shane Bieber, you know, and now we've just seen guys just getting hurt left and right, which is I know it happens a lot in baseball, especially with pitchers, but it felt like the beginning of this season was just like through the roof of specifically starting pitchers. Yeah, I pulled a tile right there.Just blowing up their elbows. So it seems like it's a big storyline on how guys are trying to throw harder and harder and harder, and it seems to be blown out their elbows quicker and quicker. So I'm interested to see how that changes and how teams deal with that if pitchers are just going to continually get hurtat like a higher and higher rate. So that feels like the biggest storyline, kind of a negative one, but it's been a lot.

Speaker 31319.18s - 1354.52s

Yeah, it's definitely been in the news and something worth the discussion that's being had about it. I don't think it's one particular reason. I think it's a lot of different reasons why you're seeing these pitchers get more and more injuries that are knocking them out for a long time. And it sucks. We don't want to see that many big-name pitchers go down because in the end of the day we like seeinggreat pitchers. And when it's that many, like you said, Alex PERSON, it's just, it sucks and it's definitely a warrants discussion as to why it's going on and what can be done to help prevent that. But yeah, James, what do you got biggest storylines apart?

Speaker 11355.44s - 1401.82s

Mine's about a team. It's a bad thing about a team. But it's actually good for everybody else, people who live in Austin, Texas, or Houston GPE, Texas, but it's the Astros ORG being terrible, like horrendous. And we talked about this a couple weeks ago, and you were like, are you worried about them? And I said, yeah, I'm worried about them. They're bad. They're starting pitching as bad, I should say. Hunter Brown PERSON? Bro, dude has still negative fantasy points after like eight starts. Still has negative fantasy points. That's how bad he is.Like, this team is not doing well. Everybody expect them to perform good. There are teams down, like they're only better than three teams, two of which are the White Sox and the Rockies ORG, like, and the Cardinals ORG.Like, it's just, it's not, it's not looking good for the Astros ORG, and it doesn't seem like it's getting any better there. So that is a big storyline for me.

Speaker 31402.28s - 1544.72s

No doubt. You know, I think the Astros ORG, last year got off to kind of a slow start, but it was nothing like this. And I think we all kind of expected that turnaround. But this year, it's just a different level. I mean, they're sitting coming today at 12 and 23. Not great. Bottom of the division right now. It's just, it's a wonder if things are going to go their way. Obviously, they had that huge signing with Josh Hater in the offseason that he has not been good.It has not gone well. The whole bullpen has looked awful. James, you mentioned that the pitching staff has just not been good. So that's going to be a huge thing to watch as we go forward if the ashes of any chance of turning it around. But I don't know. I think with how more competitive the American League ORG is, it's like now or never, I think.I think we'll kind of talk about that in a couple more weeks. For me, my biggest storyline is the AL Central Division ORG. I mean, this is a division that for years and years and years has been considered the worst division in baseball. And early on here in 2024, it is arguably the best division in baseball in terms of how competitive is. They've got four teams coming in today that are above 500. If you take out the Chicago White Sox or absolute shit show, everyone, every other team in that division has a good chance of making the postseason this year. You know, the Cleveland Guardians ORG have shocked everyone and been one of the best teams in baseball. You know, I think the Royals ORG are finally kind of figuring out this rebuild that they've been having been going on for a long time. Tigers as well are kind of right behind the Royals ORG in that sense. And the twins after a terrible start, just won 12 in a row and kind of research themselves back in that conversation. The Guardians, Royals, twins, and tigers are only separated by five games. And it's exciting to watch these teams play. And I think that's the division for me. It's going to be really fun. And not only who's going to win that division, but how many teams from that division are going to make the postseason?I think it could be two or three easy. Like I said, there's a lot of really good teams in the American League ORG. The American League Walk Hard in the last few years has been super competitive. And there's always like five teams lying for that last spot. So I think it'sanyone's game. But just the emergence of the AL Central ORG finally becoming a division that's worth talking about for me is the biggest storyline of 2024. But guys, you guys let us know what you've been looking forward to so far in MLB ORG. It's been fun and we're going to keep talking about as summer rolls on. But that's all I got this week. Awesome. Thank you, Tyler. Yeah,

Speaker 01544.82s - 1578.86s

crazy first month and we still have five to go. That's the beauty of baseballs. It just keeps going for what feels like forever sometimes. We are going to take a quick break and then we are getting into round two of the NHL ORG playoffs. We are back. We are onto our second segment, and we are into the second round of the NHL ORG playoffs. Trading, take it away.

Speaker 21579.36s - 1580.6s

Thank you very much.

Speaker 01580.6s - 1586.06s

Yes, the Sweet 16 become the Elite 8 in the NHL ORG and we are going

Speaker 21586.06s - 1587.9s

to talk about that now. We are

Speaker 01587.9s - 1590.36s

a couple games into one series

Speaker 21590.36s - 1683.66s

two games into almost another series by the time we're probably done with this segment if not next segment. And then for some reason the way the schedule goes only one game into the west. So that's kind of how actually or lessthan that if you're talking about the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmits & Oilers ORG. We're going to start over on the Metro where they have played their two games. So the New York Rangers ORG took care of business, you know, quite handedly over the capitals, sweeping them. And then Carolina took them a little bit, took them one extra game, but they handled the islanders fine. But now we're going to see what these two jugauts have to have to say about each other in this round to match up. The winner will go on to the Easter Conference EVENT final. The New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes ORG. Alex PERSON, you wanted to take this one. No surprise there, because you do have the Carolina ORG hurricanes going all the way. The first two games have been a little tough for the, we're a little tough for the hurricanes. They haven't scored a power play goal. They've, they've allowed four PRODUCT power play goals against. So their PKs is getting kind of, the special teams has been kind of rock. But Alex, if you ask me, the five on five game is all in the hurricanes. Like the hurricanes are the, we're the better team in the last two games except it just when it comes down to it,Igor Shisterkin is a story. What do you think Carolina ORG is going to need to do at home ice to, you know, to maybe take the next two, take it back to MSG for a best of three? And how do you feel about the hurricanes, you know, now that they probably have a 25% chance of moving on?

Speaker 01684.48s - 1802.08s

Yeah, obviously I don't love that they're down-0, as they're my pick to win the whole shebang. You know, obviously, game one, I like that they fought back. They were down that whole game. Obviously, didn't quite make the whole comeback lost four to three. Game two, losing overtime, that's a toss-up, in my opinion, with overtime playoff games. You get there and it's just, you just kind of see what happens. Sometimes it ends very quickly, and sometimes it goes much further. Obviously, this one went into two OTs.Yeah, the power play and giving up that many power play goals to the Rangers ORG is an issue. I think that they can get that figured out. I think as we move forward, their system is going to need to tighten up because the Rangers ORG are a wagon. And Shisterkin is the leading Vezna, or not Vesna PERSON,Kahn-Smith candidate, in my opinion, as we stand today, assuming of them that, you know, obviously the Rangers ORG go forward. I think Carap, yeah, so Carat just all these games feel like they're going to be three to two, four to three. I'm not predicting any like six to one or like what we're seeing in Boston and Florida GPE right now. Like these games are going to be tight. And to be completely honest, like I think whoever wins the series wins the cup. Like these teams are so, be tight. And to be completely honest, I think whoever wins the series wins the cup. Like, these teams are so, so good. And it's kind of a bummer that this is the way the playoffs work in the NHL that these two are meetingin the second round. We're like, I mean, you never know what's going to happen, but doesn't this kind of feel like the Eastern Conference ORG final a little bit?And it's just like, whoever gets through this is going to win. So I think Carolina ORG can do it for sure. But Freddie PERSON, Freddie Anderson is going to have to lock down and they're going to have to get to Schisturkin PERSON,which so far no one's really been able to do consistently throughout, you know, a round and a half. Yeah, this one, this one's interesting

Speaker 21802.08s - 1849.8s

because like I said, I think, and I think you kind of alluded to this. Carolina ORG has been the better team, but the better goaltender has come out victorious, the better special teams has come up victorious, which is actually the story of the entire playoffs so far. They were the by far the worst team in their respective series on the special teams. And we talk about how the playoffs is won five on five. Well, maybe not so much as we thought. At the end of the day, special teams are still things. So Carolina ORG is going to have to tighten that up. Alex PERSON, you did already allude to, you know, Egos Chasturgan being your MVP pick for the Rangers ORG if they were to win. I did ask everybody to give me an MVP for each of their team. So who is your MVP for Carolina ORG? And what is your predictionfor the series? Go.

Speaker 01850.6s - 1900.84s

Yeah. I think you have to go Seth Jarvis PERSON for Carolina ORG. With all those big names, Ahio, Schovenschiakov, Gensel PERSON, Jarvis PERSON has kind of just been the best playerand this is sort of his like I don't want to call breakout but like almost breakout performance and he's been great for them and like and yeah I mean Shasturkin Zabana Jad PERSON is like1B he's been easy good too but so I think I'll go Seth Jarvis PERSON as the leading Kahn Smyth PERSON I guess winner for Carolina ORG assuming they move forward I'm going Keynes and 7 I want this I will mostly just I want it to go 7th the leading Kahn Smyth, I guess, winner for Carolina ORG, assuming they move forward.I'm going Keynes and seven. I want this. I will mostly just want it to go seven. And obviously I want the Keynes PERSON to move forward because then I'm right. I think I was perfect in the first round. So I want to keep that going. So yeah, Keynes and seven.

Speaker 21901s - 1929.52s

Also, yeah, because I want this to go seven really badly. I think we all do, especially after last night's game, which a part, I mean, I thought yesterday's day was the best day of the playoff so far. And that particular game was probably the best game of the postseason so far. Unbelievable. I'm also tip my head to Spassianah PERSON. That guy is looking very, very good on the cane side.So everybody, James, who do you got in this series? I got the Rangers ORG in this one.

Speaker 11930.1s - 1932.84s

Rangers, six PRODUCT, seven, six.

Speaker 21933.18s - 1933.5s

Tyler?

Speaker 31933.98s - 1935.34s

I'm also going to go Keynes in four PRODUCT.

Speaker 21935.52s - 1938.24s

I believe they're going to find a way to punch through this year.

Speaker 31938.28s - 1940.16s

You mean Rangers and, I mean, canes in seven?

Speaker 21940.88s - 1941.64s

Yeah, what did I say?

Speaker 31942.14s - 1942.58s

Four.

Speaker 21943.02s - 1943.48s

He's Christ PERSON.

Speaker 31944.68s - 1945.6s

It'd be really impressive.

Speaker 21946.16s - 1948.02s

I actually do have the Keynes PERSON as well.

Speaker 31948.4s - 2020.34s

I actually think that we're going to see another game seven and they're going to be able to pull up off. Carolina was my pick to make the Stanley Cup EVENT final. I got to stick with it. Going on to the other series in the East LOC, which is turning out to be quite an interesting one.We have Boston who handled the Toronto Maple Leafs ORG in kind of scary fashion, kind of let Toronto ORG back into it, but then Toronto does their thing in losing game seven, just like I predicted. And that's why I sit here as a hockey guy. Boston ORG, and they just got scored on again. Boston ORG, you know, Boston does their thing and they move on.And then we also saw the Florida Panthers ORG, you know, kind of manhandled their brother in Tampa Bay GPE. James, you took this one on because you are a big B's ORG fan. And from the get-go, I wasnot sure about this team. And I still am not sure about this team, but you seem to be game one. The Russ PERSON versus rest kind of conundrum kind of blew up in the face of the Florida Pan one. The Rust PERSON versus rest kind of a conundrum kind of blew up in the face of theFlorida Panthers. The Boston Bruins came out. They did go down one goal and then they completely took over the game. And then the script completely changes in round two. Thewe saw

Speaker 22020.34s - 2049.52s

we saw the goalie, I'm my blanking on his freaking name right now. Dramer Swamen PERSON, who I thought was actually the running for the cons might get chased. He led in more goals in that game than he did in any other game prior. And nowthe Florida Panthers ORG have just completely taken over the game in terms of also some also shit after the whistles. James, how are you feeling about your bees and do you think that maybe the rest early on is not a big issue, but do you think down the line it's going to catch up to the BostonBruins?

Speaker 12051.12s - 2132.22s

So I actually don't feel that bad about them because of the fact that I believe in their ability to bounce back. And I think in this series particularly, it's going to be more about where we get to a two-goal lead first because then once that team gets two-goal lead, both these teams' defenses are locked down. They are very, very much out-physically the other team, if that's a word, out physically. And so that's what happened in game one. Like, Boston ORG won it hits. And in this game four PRODUCT is winning it hits. Because when you're not trying to move the puck up the ice, you can be more aggressive and have a better, like, just make sure that the puck doesn't cross the blue line. And that's what's happening. First team we get to two will lead will likely win the game. And in this case, is Florida GPE. But Boston ORG, like I said, has that team chemistry aspect and better locker and presence. And they can bounce back. It's a bad game. Yes. Cool. It's happened before. What happens next? Their ability to bounce back. They're led by great players, even though Marchand PERSON's a rat. He's a great player who is a good locker room presence and Pashtonag PERSON. And it's just a better team for me in terms of bouncing back.So a big loss like this, okay, that sucks. Like on the scoreboard and stats-wise, it sucks, right? But it's better than losing two to three. I'd rather get blown out any daythan lose a close game. Like you obviously lost this game. Cool. We wanted the next one thing about next game. And I believe in their ability to do that. So I'm not feeling that terribly about this Boston ORG team.

Speaker 22133.14s - 2149.14s

I like that. Does Florida's, you know, now that they've responded, so we're going in, it's going to be a best of five from now. If Boston ORG kind of lets Florida, you know, settle in, does that, does that worry you at all on the Boston side? On the Florida GPE side, I mean?

Speaker 12150.32s - 2179.08s

If Boston lets Florida GPE settle in, does it worry about the Florida side? As they kind of already have. Yeah, I mean, obviously, Florida GPE's a great fucking team. They're number one in the East LOC for a reason. They're a great team. But Boston ORG's right there behind them.I think there are three or two. They're two. So, like, it comes back to what I said in the first time, their ability to bounce back. As long as you are able to take that flowiness and take up theness that Carolina ORG has and match it with their own, it's going to be a great hockey game. And that's what it comes down to.

Speaker 42179.18s - 2183.68s

It's just which one is more resilient, which one can hold together for a longer period of time in this war of attrition?

Speaker 12184.64s - 2189.66s

Who's going to be? But either way, it's going to be great. Well, yeah. So right now,

Speaker 22189.74s - 2207.2s

Boston ORG, obviously, they stole home ice. So if they win their home games, it's going to be, it's going to be over. But I think Florida GPE is going to be, have a nice pushback as they already have. And I also think that Jeremy Swayman is going to go pushback. So, James, really quick last question, are they going to go back to Swainman or do they stick with Omark after this? I think they go that Jeremy Swayman's going to go pushback. So, James, really quick last question. Are they going to go back to Swamen or do they stick with Omerk PERSON after this?

Speaker 12207.82s - 2240.56s

I think they go back to Swamon ORG. It's one bad game and some of those are power plays and some of their bad bounces. It's going to happen. It's going to happen to every goaltender ever. So, yeah, I think they'll go back to the hot hand here. And if Swamon fails again, you go to Allmark ORG, which is fantastic.I think this is the best goalie tandem in the league. You have two really fantastic goalies. It doesn't matter who you, I mean, it does matter when you start by the hot hand. But at the end of the day, like, who do, who do the Panthers ORG have? They have stil arts back there. Who is great, but it doesn't have that much experience. So you got to rely on goalie Bob PERSON the entire time. But here, you can spell them with Omar or you can go back to Swam PERSON. It's a fantastic pairing. And what Trayton

Speaker 22240.56s - 2253.12s

always says, good goal tend to carry you a long way. It really can. So, James, who is your MVP for the Boston side and for the Florida GPE side? I'm assuming it's Jeremy Swamen, but why is it not Jeremy Swainman PERSON if it's not?

Speaker 12253.68s - 2287.58s

I actually have the rat, Brad Martian PERSON. Wow. He is a facilitator and he is making great plays at great times. In round one, he led the team on shots on goal. And that's Posternak PERSON's thing. But the thing is here, he is facilitating and making sure his chances happen. And in order to win,you have to make those chances happen. And I love that about it. And Swainman PERSON right now, he led in some goals, yeah. But I mean, what I just mentioned before is that homework can come in there and almost have the same thing. If you take Marshaen PERSON out the game, it's a different game. So that's why Marsha had my MVP WORK_OF_ART.

Speaker 22289.24s - 2289.98s

What about on the Panthers ORG side?

Speaker 12291.44s - 2303.18s

It's going to be Carter-Higie PERSON for me. Yeah, they really caught you out guard on that one. I mean, this guy is putting up points. He's putting, making clutch goals. He is also doing what Marchand is doing for Florida GPE. He is making things happen. And that's why I like him.

Speaker 22303.78s - 2322.72s

He really is. He's been very, very good. As has Matt Kachukke PERSON, he's definitely made his mark on the series already. How many games is it going to take for Boston to take down Florida GPE? Five PRODUCT.Five PRODUCT. Wow. So you think he's going to win the next three? That's gold. I love that.

Speaker 02323.68s - 2324.76s

Alex PERSON, what do you got?

Speaker 22329.22s - 2329.78s

Yeah, I love James, but I'm not agreeing with him at all. Florida and six PRODUCT.

Speaker 02334.7s - 2335.24s

Florida and six, Tyler. Boston and seven. Boston and seven. I actually have Florida in five.

Speaker 22339.82s - 2340.44s

I actually think that this game is not the game that they wanted to allow it happen.

Speaker 02346.04s - 2346.1s

And now we have Chuck completely destroying Posternak in the face that you may have just broke the Boston Bruins ORG.

Speaker 22348.5s - 2434.02s

I could be wrong, but you may have just broke the Boston Bruins ORG. But we'll see. James is a believer. Some of us aren't. And so is Tyler. Tyler likes to see Long Series EVENT.And I think we all do. I think we all do. Now moving over to the West LOC. We're moving specifically to the Central where we saw another overtime game yesterday. Finally, game one started for there. We saw, so it's Dallas ORG.They thank you, everybody, thank you Dallas for taking down the defending Vegas Golden Knights ORG. We really appreciate you guys doing that. And on the other side, we saw the Colorado Avalanche completely dismantle the Winnipeg Jets after game one. Wow, they are back. And this might be the 2022 Colorado Avalanche completely dismantled the Winnipeg Jets after game one. Wow, they are back. And this might be the 2022 Colorado Avalanche ORG, which we also would happen there. So that's kind of a big worry. But Tyler, game one in Dallas, Dallas goes up 3-0.And Dallas ORG is looking fantastic. It's seeming like it's very similar to the situation with Boston ORG. The rest didn't really matter. They were ready to get right back in. And then Colorado ORG chips away, chips away, chips away. And then they find a way to win.The big dogs get it done yet again. And when it comes to the Colorado Avalanche ORG, when they're skating downhill, they're an avalanche, literally. You've got to get out of the fucking way. Are you worried about Dallas right here, Tyler, or is the depth on the Dallas ORG good enough?Or do we need to see some more from key players?

Speaker 32435.1s - 2524.76s

I definitely need to see more. If you compare the depth so far in these Stanley Cup EVENT playoffs, two of these both teams, Colorado ORG has just been better in that area. In Colorado ORG, obviously, with recent success, they know how to win in the Stanley Cup EVENT playoffs. Dallas ORG has had some success there as well, but I mean, not quite as much as Colorado ORG. You have seen Dallas ORG bounce back. They've obviously in round one, they were down 02. After losing the first two games at home to Vegas GPE, they found a way to win that series in seven games. So I do a faith that Dallas is going to come back here in game two and possibly getanother win. If they don't, they've proven that they can come back from it. But I agree. I think what you mentioned at, how good Colorado ORG was looked. I mean, they've won five straight games after dropping the first game in the last series. And they've looked phenomenal. They've looked really good.Even, like I said, that's huge going, being down 3-0 on the road and coming back and winning that game and overtime is such a huge momentum shifter for that Colorado ORG avalanche. And it's going to be tough for Dallas ORG to come back and find a way with, I think, how well Colorado ORG is playing right now. But it's a way with, I think, how well Colorado is playing right now. But it's a long series. I definitely think this is going to go the distance as well. Yeah, it's going to be a fun while. I expect these four, three. I mean, shit, we might haveovertimes in every single game. I don't know. It's going to be super fun to watch. But yeah, on the depth side, Advantage Colorado ORG. Advantage Colorado, indeed. I mean, you look at,

Speaker 22524.76s - 2586.6s

you look at a player like Miles Wood that just completely takes it, beats his defenseman down the wing and scores the overtime winner. And then you look at the Dallas ORG side. Rupa Hince is on a Mill Carton FAC right now.Jason Robertson PERSON, on a Mill Carden right now. Like, where the fuck are these guys? And we talk about the Dallas ORG depth. And I talked about this in my, in my power rankings throughout the season that there were at times where I wasn't sure that every, that I was watching the same thing everybody else was because, yes, on paper, they're deep, but where are these players? You know, we are seeing amazing things from Logan Stankov PERSON, and we're seeing incredible things from White Johnston. But Tyler, I mean, are you worried about this, this, I would say this middle core. I mean, Jamie Ben and Tyler Sagan PERSON, I think, are working their balls off, but they're also 30-some years old. And then Wyatt Johnson and Stankhoven, they're 20 years old. They're the next core that are doing more than what they're being asked to do.What about this main core, this Jason Robertson, Rupa PERSON hints, are you worried about them right now?

Speaker 32587.24s - 2637.64s

Yeah, I mean, like you the end of you have to have your stars, play like stars in the playoffs. No matter what sport it is, that has to happen. And you're obviously, you're going to, the championship teams are going to get production from other key pieces. That's part of it as well. So the stars have that, but ultimately their dudes need to step up and they have to be those guys. None of those guys, I think, you know, are not really, they're not leading their team in points right now when it went in in the playoffs. So that's got to change at the end of the day. Like you just have to make that happen and keep those, you know, veterans are there for a reason, young guys are there for reason, but you said, your core, your main dudes have got to beyour points leaders and be the ones pulling this team through this playoff run. If you don't have that, it's putting a lot of pressure on guys that aren't supposed to do that. So it's definitely a concern

Speaker 22637.64s - 2648.84s

for the Dallas ORG Stars. Yeah, it is. Colorado looks like a wagon. Dallas is, Dallas looks great. It just, I mean, a little bit more. Who are your MVP picks for each one and who wins this series and how many games?

Speaker 32649.62s - 2650.46s

So for Dallas ORG,

Speaker 22650.56s - 2651.56s

you mentioned Wild Johnson PERSON.

Speaker 32651.8s - 2651.98s

I mean,

Speaker 22652.02s - 2654.94s

he's got five goals so far in the Seneca playoffs.

Speaker 32654.94s - 2685.02s

By far been the best producer offensively for Dallas ORG. On Colorado ORG, I'm going to go, Kel McCarr PERSON. I mean, he's,I believe, tied with the leading points in the NHL in McCar PERSON. I mean, he's, I believe, tied with the lead in points in the NFL ORG in the playoffs. If not, he's number two. And that's, you know, saying a lot with how deep this team is with McKinnonon there as well. I believe he's right. I think he's got one point behind McCar. So, I mean, those two dudes are kind of 1A, 1B, but I'm going to give it to McCar PERSON just because he has the lead in points. Got it. And who wins this series McCar PERSON just because he has the lead in points.

Speaker 22686.14s - 2691.72s

Got it. And who wins this series? How many games? I got Colorado in seven. Oh, you think it's going the distance?

Speaker 42691.88s - 2708.68s

I think we all pray to God that that's the case because God damn, that is good, hockey. James, I know your big Dallas ORG guy. Who do you have in this series? Dallas and Six. Dallas and Six? Okay, you like that.So you think they're going to be able to stifle Colorado ORG eventually. Alex PERSON? Big Colorado ORG guy.

Speaker 02708.68s - 2710.92s

I have Dallas ORG going the whole way,

Speaker 42711.08s - 2714.5s

but Colorado ORG at home is pretty much unbeatable.

Speaker 02715.34s - 2717.2s

Dallas and six PRODUCT, don't care. Sticking with my guns.

Speaker 22717.5s - 2721.42s

Dallas and six PRODUCT. I'm actually going to say Colorado and seven. Yeah.

Speaker 42721.82s - 2769.78s

I don't love it because with the, with, with the hopes that my Edmonton Oilers ORG move on, that's not a team I want to fucking play. But I just think that they are, until Dallas ORG can, Dallas's core can figure it out, I'm, I'm worried about Dallas ORG. I really, really am. Um, Jake Onda PERSON can't do it, can't do it all.And even though Alexander Gore PERSON gave is not fantastic by any means, it doesn't matter if, if you're letting too many goals and if you're getting outskated. So that's there. And then I am covering the last one, which is about to finally drop the puck after an entire week of waiting for almost both teams. In the Pacific, we have the Edmish PERSON and Oilers who took out the LA Kings in five games against the Vancouver Canucks who took care of the Nashville Predators in six PRODUCT. For me, guys, I'm just going to try and keep this quick. So Vancouver

Speaker 22769.78s - 2987.92s

Vancouver turned into what was an offensive juggernaut early on and then really turned into a defensive scout defensive team down the stretch. Their offense really has trailed off. We've seen their bestplayers kind of go sideways and even and some of their best players were not even great in the first round of the playoffs. Luckily, the Nashville Predators just don't really have the depth to compete against some of these teams in the playoffs.Vancouver ORG's sitting on their third goaltender. We saw Demko is trying to get back. We'll see he's definitely out today, but we'll see if he's out as early, if he can come back as early as Friday. On the amateur oilers side, guys, again, the 5-on-5 with the L.A. Kings ORG was tight. It was a lot tighter than some of the stats suggests, but the special teams was just the bread and butter. The Oilersare at 1405% when you combine their 45% power player and their 100% PK. Their special teams is looking fantastic. And with all of this said, and the oilers are definitely heavy favorites. If you look at Vegas GPE, if you look at everyone who's kind of predicting and handicappedin this series. But I'm not so sure that it's that tight or it's that much of a wide margin. I think that the Oilers ORG showed that they are going to need to ramp it up even more. I mean, I think that the LA Kings ORG gave them their best and it was just enough, but I think that the, I think that the Oilers ORG have another gear that they're going to needto bring in this next, in this next series, if they're looking to take on the team that kind of owned them throughout the entire regular season and a big part of why they lost their coach and ended up where they were in November. I mean, those three early gamesreally were a tough time for the admittualers and they're going to need to shake that off and be that much better of a team. Skinner PERSON's going to need to step way up and we'll see how we'll see how he can dodown the stretch. He looked very good after game two in that King series, but is it going to be enough against some guys that really know what to put the puck in the net? I admit and agree that probably LA has some better offensive minds, even though they, even though Pedersen PERSON is on that Vancouver ORG team. But they're going to give the Kings ORG everything they got and we know that they can shut things down.So it'll be an interesting one. I have the Oilers ORG and six PRODUCT. Personally, I think the Vancouver Canucks are good for two wins. I don't think it's going to be an easy cakewalk and I think it's going to be a brutal battle. If anything, it's going to be a brutal battle between the fans because it's already fucking wild on Twitter. Like ridiculous, ridiculous stuff on Twitter. My MVP picks on the Oilers side, it's Leon Drysidal PERSON. I think Leon Drysaddle PERSON is one of, if has been one of if not the best skater in the playoffs so far. And he's only played five games. He just absolutely brings it to another level. He is sometimes better than McDavid is in the playoffs so far and he's only played five games he just absolutely brings it to another level he is sometimes better than mac david is in the playoffs which is which is absolutely insane um and on the on the vancouver side this is tough but i think queen hughes is probably my pick right now no player has really stuck out so far i think i think i think we haven't seen the the best of the vancouver connect so we'll see how things go. And I guess I could also give it to Archer PERSON, Arthur, Archer she loves. If he can, uh, if he can shut down the Edmonton, Oilers ORG powerplay, uh, you know, as, as the most important P-Ker, you might see a guy who can, you know, find, find lightning in a bottle and and take this team through. Uh, he would, he would be my pick if he, if he can do that. So, uh, James, Vancouver, Edmonton GPE, how many games?

Speaker 12988.92s - 2994.04s

Oilers for Vancouver ORG was not the better team against sputterers. So they don't think it's a sweet.

Speaker 02994.24s - 3018.16s

Wow. No respect for Vancouver, Alex PERSON. Caden PERSON, I love you. The Oilers are officially public enemy number one in my book. I will refuse to pick them for anything moving forward, similar to James' disdain for Seattle GPE. Vancouver and four PRODUCT, don't care.Vancouver and four PRODUCT. I love that.

Speaker 33018.7s - 3032.78s

Tyler, are you in the same mindset? Yes. So obviously my heart says, yeah, I've Vancouver and four PRODUCT. But for the purposes of, you know, what I genuinely objectively think, I'm going to go Oilers and 7 PRODUCT because we loveGame 7s EVENT.

Speaker 23033.7s - 3036.02s

O'Ollors and 7 PRODUCT, I love that. Well, that's round

Speaker 33036.02s - 3037.86s

two. I'm going to be hosting next week, so

Speaker 23037.86s - 3049.6s

keep up with it. Whoever's whoever wants can update us on the hockey if they'd like. Otherwise, next time we talk about hockey, it's going to be the conference finals, boys. Great.

Speaker 03050.56s - 3051.86s

Thank you so much.

Speaker 23052.76s - 3054.32s

Objectively, I think I'm wrong,

Speaker 03054.42s - 3056.64s

but I refuse to pick Edmonton GPE moving forward.

Speaker 23056.74s - 3057.56s

I'm sure the city's great.

Speaker 03057.86s - 3087.56s

Hate the team from now on, and that's just going to be part of the deal. We are going to take a quick break, and then James is going to take over basketball for me. We will be right back. Welcome back. As you can hear, I am hosting, which means James is taking over basketball forme. James, we're also into the second round in the NBA ORG. So take it away.

Speaker 13088.16s - 3114.86s

Yeah, I'm going to do my best Alex PERSON impression here. So I'm going to grow a beard and run with it. We're going to drop in the East today because that's the first thing on my screen, which is something Alex PERSON would say. In the East, number one Celtics versus number four Cavs ORG. Boston is currently up one zero after after destroying the calves at 25 points. The calves actually got it kind of close up until halftime. But they let go most in the fourth quarter where it turned out to be a blow-off. Blow-off.

Speaker 43115.14s - 3119.88s

Two-off. Also, the only got to say, fun fact.

Speaker 13121.76s - 3153.44s

Jalen Brown went off in game one. He had a 30-piece. And then, you know, Jason Tatum, who is technically the MVP of this team, kind of took a back seat and just did his own thing, which was impressive because all the stars, except for Al Holford PERSON, scored double digits. Boston ORG is a wagon. On the cab side, Donovan Mitchell PERSON did this thing, but Darius Garland PERSON kind of did his thing. Outside of that, it was kind of all over the place. So, Trayton PERSON, I want to ask you, Jared Allen PERSON is a big part of this team, All-Star Snub PERSON.If he misses more games, how bad is this for the Cavs ORG?

Speaker 23155.7s - 3248.8s

It's next to impossible for them to win the series. I'm sorry, I know you're a big Cavs guy, but at the end of the day, Donovan Mitchell PERSON, I just can't do it alone. He just can't. He's second in the entire postseason field with 234 points in their eight games. But the next guy is so far down that it just doesn't work against a team that is showing how much depth matters. The Boston Celtics don't have Chris Taps for Zingas, which I think is going to be a problem going forward. However, I mean, past this series, however, it sounds like he's going to be back sooner than later. But, you know, you saw Al Horford PERSON win his minutes when he was on, when he had to step up. I know, again, I know it's the calves, but when your depth can step up for a guy like that, you know you're in good shape. I just don't think the calves can handle how much scoring is on the other side, how many options are on the other side, especially once Chris Tops PERSON is back. If he comes back in this series, it's done. In fact, I don't even know that the Boston Celtics ORG should even consider bringing in Porzingis PERSON now because the longer you can have him rest, probably the better becausethe calves are just not going to have enough. I just you know, like I said, Donovan Mitchell PERSON, can't do it alone. And as you mentioned, you know, when an injury on a key playeris there against a team that just is a wagon, I just don't see a chance for the calves. I can see them maybe winning a game, but I'm very, very worried.

Speaker 13249.7s - 3250.9s

Who is your MVP for the Celtics ORG?

Speaker 23253.32s - 3288.68s

Oh, that's tough. I'm going to say, I'm going to say Tatum, but I don't know. I don't know. No one's really, no one's really shown. Everyone's kind of, kind of chipping in, which I, which I really appreciate. Derek White has, as, as looked, as looked quite, quite amazing as well. So I guess I could, I could look at him aswell. He might be, he might be the, the, the, the, the, the dark horse, kind of like that, what Aaron Gordon was for the Nuggets last year, like that dark horse that just kind of like is the reason that they're going to take it all the way. I love that.

Speaker 13288.78s - 3305.84s

I was, I mean, Derek White was my guy for the Celtics ORG right now because he is that glue for that team. Jason Tamis PERSON can score. Jill and Brown PERSON can score. But Derek White PERSON's holding that team together by being him. And who would have thought some guy who looks like Trey Young PERSON could be like Trey Young. Interesting. How many games did it take for the Celtics to win, Trayden PERSON?

Speaker 23306.88s - 3309.32s

I think it's a gentleman sweep. I think if I think we'll see five.

Speaker 03310.24s - 3311.12s

Alex PERSON, who wins in how many?

Speaker 13311.84s - 3314.86s

Yeah, I agree with Trayden PERSON. I think it's, I think it's a little team.

Speaker 03316.1s - 3320.8s

Yeah, I don't, why, Porcineas PERSON doesn't even need to play. Five PRODUCT. Todd PERSON.

Speaker 13322.96s - 3326.92s

Um, I agree with Alex PERSON on, yeah, sorry.

Speaker 03327.5s - 3328.84s

I was not paying attention.

Speaker 33330.88s - 3333.22s

He's doing so well of being himself.

Speaker 13334.62s - 3335.8s

Whatever Alex PERSON said.

Speaker 33337.46s - 3338.2s

Copy paste.

Speaker 13339.62s - 3343s

I actually have the Cavs ORG winning because I had them going to the finals.

Speaker 33343s - 3345.36s

So Cabs in six PRODUCT, ladies and gentlemen,

Speaker 13345.48s - 3439.76s

Donald Mitchell PERSON is going to pick it up. He's going to drop 70 points a night. And that's that. Moving on to the other matchup in the East LOC, number two Nix versus number six Pacers ORG, which is currently going on.Nix lead 1-0 in game one. Nix won 121 to 117. There was a four PRODUCT-point game that came down to the wire with some questionable calls from the refs, but that is what it is. I'm going to cover this one. Simply put, the Knicks have Jalen Brunson and O.G. Antonovie and Josh Hart PERSON, and those three are really carrying this team forward. Jalen Brunson PERSON is the key mechanism, the key cog for this entire team. And he went out for a little bit in game two with a sore foot and he missed the majority of the first half, but he came back in the second half and he's been destroying. Without Jalen Brunson, this entire team. And he went out for a little bit in game two with a sore foot and he missed the majority of the first half. But he came back in the second half and he's been destroying. Without Jalen Brunson PERSON, this team was losing. I think Indiana was up by 10 plus points a half. John Brunce came back and now Indiana is winning by eight with two minutes left in the fourth. That's what it's telling me. On the Pacer's side, I have a huge issue with Tyrese Halliburton PERSON passing. And I get, he's a great passer. But in game one, he put up six PRODUCT shots for six points. This guy can score at a 30 point clip. He can put up numbers like that. And now he's taking a back seat for what? Like, Pascal Seacom PERSON? Like, he had a good two games against Milwaukee ORG, but he's been on a milk carton since then. And he's, like, you need, this is your team, Tyrese ORG, put the ball in the basket. You can do it. Everybody's seen it.You watch it against the leg is you drop 30 bombs in the in season tournament. Like that's, you can do it, just do it in the playoffs. Well, I don't know what you're waiting for. He's like trading playing men's league hockey. Like, trading

Speaker 03439.76s - 3442.1s

obviously the best player on the ice.

Speaker 43442.48s - 3443.86s

And yet he decides to pass

Speaker 03443.86s - 3448.74s

every single time when he can score 30 goals a night. I don't understand it, but it is what it is.

Speaker 13449.34s - 3454.46s

Anyway, I got the Pacers winning in seven. Tyler, who do you at? That was funny.

Speaker 33454.98s - 3460.48s

I'm going to go Knicks in six PRODUCT. Alex PERSON.

Speaker 03461.18s - 3479.88s

I'm a little worried about the Knicks because OG and Nobie PERSON got hurt in this game, and I don't believe he's come back. I don't know for sure. It's hard to watch and do this at the same time. But I just think Jalen Brunson PERSON's like on a mission. So I'm going to go Nix and 7 PRODUCT.Good.

Speaker 23481.62s - 3483.72s

I'll say Nixon 7 PRODUCT as well. I like the Knicks ORG.

Speaker 13484.32s - 3515.48s

I guess I'm the only Pacers ORG guy, and that's okay. Moving on to the West LOC, because it's the next side of my paper. Number one, Thunder versus number five Mavs ORG. OKC leads one zero. They won game one blowout fashion. Luca had a tough game, six for 19 from the field. The Thunder did out physical and out rebound the Mazz by 13. And the Thunder also shot 46% from three while the Mab shot 34. And SGA almost had a 30 piece. Alex PERSON, this is you. After watching Game 1, do the Mabs ORG have a chance? I think they do have a chance.

Speaker 03516.36s - 3606.24s

This Mavs, they got blown out in game one against the Clippers ORG and then came back and took care of business there. I do think they have a chance? Do I think they're going to move on? No. I just think this OKC team, like I turned on the game in the second half. Dallas made a run coming out of halftime and had it down to like two or two points or something. It was down to single possession. And then OKC, I feel like they were kind of like, guys, let's like stop playing with our food a little bit and just went to town on Dallas, honestly. They just, they just womped them. Luka PERSON is going to have to be more efficient. He's getting his. He's still averaging, you know, 28, 10, and 6 or whatever, but the efficiency is awful. I think he's shooting like under 20% from three. It's not been good over the last like five games. You know, obviously it was fine getting through the Clippers ORG, which we'll talk about them in the offseason. But I don't know, OKC ORG, they're just looking, they're looking good. SGA ORG is going to get his. Jalen Williams PERSON going to get his. Lou Dort has so far done a great job on Luca PERSON. Chet PERSON is healthy and performing.I don't know how they're going to fare against whomever they play next, but I just think OKC ORG is just poised to do this. And watch out because they still have 70 million first round picks over the next five years. So I've got KC and six PRODUCT.

Speaker 13607.12s - 3611.2s

Oh, I like that. Tyler. OKC and seven.

Speaker 33612.48s - 3613.58s

He wasn't paying attention.

Speaker 13613.74s - 3614.16s

He didn't pick the right.

Speaker 33614.18s - 3614.58s

I was.

Speaker 13616.3s - 3618.76s

I just believe in Luca PERSON a little too much.

Speaker 33619.44s - 3619.98s

Oh, God.

Speaker 13620.08s - 3621.16s

That's good for you.

Speaker 33621.66s - 3621.88s

Triton ORG.

Speaker 13622.32s - 3623.8s

I believe in Luca for one game.

Speaker 23624.52s - 3629.3s

This is going to be a fucking stunt they're going to rock them four to one five games

Speaker 13629.3s - 3643.38s

yeah thunder hits and then it's going to rock the stadium that's what happens thunder in four that's a sweet I don't believe in Luca I don't think Pairie PERSON's going to do all that much the Thunder ORG are just too goodtoo young too committed and just they're just more fun to watch

Speaker 43643.38s - 3646.94s

offensively than the show. So that's that.

Speaker 13647.74s - 3672.84s

Last but not least, number two nuggets versus number three, Timberwolves ORG. Wolves lead to zero. Both games were in Denver GPE, which was surprising.Game one was closer. Game two was a massacre. Jamal Murray PERSON, officially the biggest bitch in the world throwing a pack in the towel when you call her and go on your way because you're being out physical. I don't like you at all.Like, you are worse to me than what, I even forgot his name, the guy for the Rockets and the Grizzies ORG. Oh,

Speaker 23673.38s - 3673.96s

Dylan Brooks PERSON.

Speaker 13673.98s - 3674.58s

Dylan Brooks PERSON.

Speaker 23675.58s - 3677.64s

I now officially hate Jamal Murray

Speaker 13677.64s - 3690.8s

more than Dylan Brooks PERSON. That was a Bush League thing to do, man. You don't even do that when you're like eight years old. Like, you're taught not through that when you're eight and you're doing it as a pro.Ridiculous. Tyler, why did Jamal Murray PERSON your favorite player? He's not.

Speaker 33691.3s - 3694.74s

Yeah, no, I agree. That was definitely Bush League shit. Don't be throwing shit. Come on, man.

Speaker 13695.6s - 3696.98s

What do you think about this series so far?

Speaker 33697.72s - 3773.9s

Yeah, I mean, obviously the Timberos NORP have come out and they've been playing their game. The defense just looks unsolved with the best defensive team in the NBA all season, and they've proven it here, especially there in game two, only allowing 80 points. I mean, the Timberwolves just seem to be outplaying the Nuggets ORG in pretty much every facet of the game here. I mean, if you really look at it, you know, it's like the T. Wolves' depth and kind of their big three, so to speak, it's just outplaying the Nuggets ORG Big Three.I think Reed and Towns have done way better than Murray and Porter PERSON. Obviously, this is about, you know, Ant Man and the Joker PERSON who are going to put up their points. They're going to do their thing, which they have. But the Joker, I think for the first time ever has, like, kind of looked outmatched. I just, I think he's the only guy that's actually, you know, kind of showing up and playing the best he can. But credit to the Timberwood's defense because I think that that length, that locked down defense where they can, you know, kind of pretty much match up everyone one-on-one, doesn't allow the Joker PERSON to be as much of a playmaker as he normally is.If the Timberwolves ORG can continue to play good defense, which I don't see why they can't because all just focus effort and just grinding it out. I think the Timberwolves ORG are going to win this series. And I think this is going to be, you know, an early exit for the defending champs.

Speaker 13774.58s - 3775.84s

Wow. Okay. Alex PERSON.

Speaker 03777.14s - 3790.5s

Yeah. Look, I watched a lot of that game last night and Minnesota ORG just wants it more. They're going after it and they're, they kept saying like active hands on the broadcast and I'm like, please stop saying active hands.

Speaker 43791.46s - 3793.38s

It's so weird.

Speaker 03796.9s - 3797.06s

But I mean, they, Rudy Gobert just won his fourth defensive player year.

Speaker 43797.14s - 3800.38s

He didn't even play yesterday or two days ago, whatever day that was.

Speaker 03800.72s - 3813.88s

And they, 80 points. Denver scored 80 points. Like this Nuggets, thisgets this Timberwolves ORG defense is legit and yeah I just think they want it more I'm gonna go Timberwolves ORG andfive Oh

Speaker 13813.88s - 3816.4s

Trayton Yeah the

Speaker 23816.4s - 3840.22s

The the The 1990s Bulls from the West but in 2024 Are starting right now, baby. I'm off the Nuggets ORG train.Fuck them. I'm over it. Done. When you completely make the defending champions look that bad in two games in Denver GPE, it was in Denver?

Speaker 13840.38s - 3841.46s

It was in Denver GPE. It was in Denver.

Speaker 33841.98s - 3844.04s

You deserve to, yeah, you're done.

Speaker 03844.24s - 3847.86s

You've lost me. And I had you going back to back. Timberwolves and five.

Speaker 13848.7s - 3861.98s

Oh, I like that. I also have Timberwolves and Five PRODUCT. I think this is the first time the Nuggets ORG have faced adversity in like two years. And I don't think they know how to bounce back from that. So Timberwolves ORG and five for me. And that's how the cookie crumblesfolks. Alex Marter PERSON, signing off. Hope you guys

Speaker 03861.98s - 3890.26s

enjoyed. Thank you. This is James saying, God, Alex is a smart man. Yeah, the NBA playoffs obviously about halfway through or almost halfway through, bum for it to be over. But that will wrap it up. Just like I did, last time I hosted, I'm going to say goodnight to my other nine-year-old friend, James. I hope you sleep well, but don't think I won't shoot you in the face with a Nerf bullet. Everyone, have a great week. We will talk to you next time.Bye.
