Speaker 283.5s - 86.38s

Arkansas ORG and Alabama they're both in the same side.

Speaker 187.3s - 95.84s

Well, this Inville is like, I thought it was closer to the west side of Mississippi GPE, but it's not. I didn't look twice.

Speaker 296.64s - 97.84s

It's on the east side.

Speaker 198.5s - 100.08s

It's totally different direction.

Speaker 2100.46s - 103.82s

It's like north, it's like more central Mississippi GPE.

Speaker 1103.96s - 110.86s

It's like central east. I can't describe it. Let me put it this way. The closest city, the closest city to it is Tupil GPE. Okay.

Speaker 2111.48s - 111.66s

So.

Speaker 1113s - 115.14s

Well, we'll have to visit Enville one day.

Speaker 2115.48s - 116.54s

If I never know.

Speaker 1117.46s - 120.92s

If we know it's our last day on earth, we'll go to Inville GPE.

Speaker 2121.56s - 122.5s

This is the Enville GPE?

Speaker 1123.16s - 123.5s

Yes.

Speaker 2123.88s - 124.16s

All right.

I like, when I talk to people about my finances, man, I better know that person. I better be able to callthem if something looks off. If there's a mistake, if there's a problem, I want to be able to, you know, one phone call and I'm there. Let Priority One Bank ORG make you their priority.

Speaker 2328.46s - 339.18s

When you're doing that whole thing, like you want to talk to somebody that you can know and all. It reminds me a Tommy Boy PERSON. Yeah. Yes. When they're making their pitch.

Speaker 1339.54s - 346.7s

Yeah. Yeah. I can get a good, uh, good look at a steak. But it's exactly, but he's right. It's like you want to be able to, you want to know good look at a steak. That's exactly.

Speaker 2347.3s - 347.46s

But he's right.

Speaker 1352.02s - 352.32s

It's like you want to be able to, you want to know who you're talking to when you win in these situations.

Speaker 2354.96s - 355.42s

The great philosopher, Tommy Boy PERSON.

Speaker 1355.88s - 356.76s

That's right.

Speaker 2357.94s - 358.56s

26 to 3. Hella hand.

Speaker 1359.24s - 364.02s

26 to 3, 18 to 5, 11 to 7.

Speaker 2364.86s - 369.42s

Those were the scores a year ago when Mississippi State played Vanderbilt here in Starkville GPE.

Speaker 1370.46s - 375.48s

26 to 3 is a level of embarrassment I can barely wrap my head around.

Speaker 2376s - 380.72s

The 18 to 5 game, as I recall, wasn't a run rule because I think Vanderbilt ORG scored like

Speaker 1380.72s - 385.26s

seven or eight runs in the ninth inning, so they couldn't count as a run rule game.

Speaker 2385.7s - 389.88s

And then it was, I guess, reasonably close on Sunday, but still you gave up 11 runs.

Speaker 1390.98s - 489.54s

Oh, what a difference a year makes. A tough game on Friday night, Mississippi State ORG gets shut out, but then they turn it around and come back and win the series against the Vanderbilt Commodores ORG on the road, their first road series win of the year. Bulldogs now sitting 29 and 15, 12 and 9 in the conference, and Robbie PERSON, the path, the roadmap to a host, is now available to us. Tell me if you disagree with what I think the roadmap is.State has 11 games left, right? They have nine conference games and two non-conference games. They need to go eight and two. You may think that my math doesn't mad up. It does. They need to cancel that North Alabama game, Robbie PERSON. They got to get that off the schedule. And they need to tell North Alabama GPE, thanks but no thanks going forward, especially not after March 1st. We're not playing you in May anymore. That's got to be the way this is. But then you can lose one to Bama. You can lose or you can lose two. I guess it's not eveneight and two, seven and three. You could lose two to Arkansas, maybe one to Alabama GPE. But I think you're going to be okay. You got to beat Ole Miss on Wednesday. You got to win the series at least from Alabama. You might need to sweep Missouri GPE. But that's the path. It's never easy to sweep anybody. I won't go that far. But by the way, I love your Oregon shirt. That's fantastic. I'm wearing the Iowa State today. It's the one with the Donald Duck. Fighting Donald Duck. Yeah, I've got the Iowa State with the Cardinal going today. It's the one with the Donald Duck. Fighting Donald Duck.Yeah, I've got the Iowa State with the Cardinal going today.

Speaker 2489.82s - 495.82s

Oregon ORG is really cool. We are cool people. That's the path, right?

Speaker 1496.68s - 504.36s

Beat Ole Miss ORG, beat Alabama GPE in the series, don't get swept at Arkansas ORG, sweep Missouri GPE, you're probably hosting.

Speaker 2505.24s - 561s

I think that's been kind of my plan on this. We mapped it out like this last week. We said you need to win this series. And I still would say chances of hosting are low right now. Just because it's hard to expect Mississippi State ORG to do all those things because they don't do all the little things well. Even after this weekend, I think it's hard to expect Mississippi State ORG to do all those things because they don't do all the little things well.Even after this weekend, I think it's okay for us to say. Even though people get upset about that, but this team does not do a lot of the little things well. And you need to do those little things well to go on a run like we're saying they need to go on. If they do that, like you just mapped out, that would be, let's say, they've won seven out of their last eight games. Is that correct? Swept Auburn ORG. They won the midweek against Alcorn ORG. They beat Memphis, seven out of eight.

Speaker 3561.4s - 561.52s

Yeah.

Speaker 0561.52s - 572.26s

So you're looking at 15 and three, 15 and four in your final 19 games.

Speaker 2572.36s - 574.12s

That's a really good run there.

Speaker 1574.5s - 575.52s

That's what you're asking.

Speaker 3575.76s - 578.24s

That Ole Miss Saturday game is still killing.

Speaker 1578.76s - 585.28s

Well, the thing is the Ole Miss Saturday game and then the subsequent Sunday game,

Speaker 2585.36s - 588.8s

because I still think they would have won, they would have swept had they won that Saturday game.

Speaker 1589.64s - 597.3s

Florida, two games, and that series, the Georgia game, how that one played out, possibly the A&M, LSU ORG.

Speaker 2597.38s - 612.18s

I mean, there's so many games in there, but that's really not important right now. I think what is important is Mississippi State ORG has in front of them an opportunity here to make a run here late in the season and your backs are kind against the wall in terms of hosting.

Speaker 3612.96s - 613.44s

Now,

Speaker 2613.94s - 665s

this team's in really good shape to get the NCAA ORG tournament. I think that it's going to take a massive collapse for them not to go to the tournament. Right. They basically need three more SEC wins than they're in.15 wins will get this team in. I think no problem. It would be shocking if they're not in at 15 wins. But your backs are against the wall with the hosting talk. But they're still alive because of what you did this weekend. And that to me, I think we need to move past some of the issues with this team and just call it what it is.They're finding a way to win games, and that is very important. You mentioned it in the first part of this. Last year, even the last game, it always felt like State was kind of battling uphill against Vanderbilt ORG. Yeah.

Speaker 3665.74s - 668.92s

The first two games were embarrassingly uncompetitive.

Speaker 2670.22s - 699.94s

Everybody that was a Mississippi State ORG fan was embarrassed. To not even be able to stay on the field with Vanderbilt in those two games was just a level that Mississippi State has not been in in 15 years. But this year shows just how far this team has come. I think it's important to put that in context, I think. This team last year lost by 23 runs. Was that right? 26 to 3?

Speaker 1701.3s - 702.44s

That's unbelievable.

Speaker 2702.58s - 760.06s

This team lost by 23 runs to this Vanderbilt ORG team. And again, the next day was bad too. 18 to 5, man. The Friday night, to bounce back after what happened on Friday, the offense just wasn't able to get it going, to bounce back after completely melting on Sunday, shows just how far this team has come. And they're not perfect by any means. There's so many issues that this team has that could keep them from doing big things. But they play hard. They do some things well. And even though it's hit or miss, they're winning games. And that's all you can ask for right now is for this team to find its way back and even though it's hit or miss, they're winning games. And that's all you can ask for right now is for this team to find its way back, somehow some way, and that's what they did this weekend. You've got to be proud of the effort that they put in to take that series.Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1760.52s - 774.74s

So looking at the rest of the way, state currently, as it sits at 624 on a Sunday, 34th in the RPI. They've gone up 11 spots this weekend. So I have to assume when they up at all on Sunday?

Speaker 2775.82s - 777.58s

They have not updated it yet.

Speaker 1778.22s - 815.56s

They have not updated it yet, Robbie PERSON. So I have to assume when that occurs, they will be maybe 31, 30 if it possible. This week you have number 28 in the RPI Ole Miss, and then three with number 17, Alabama GPE. Then you have next week, you have three with number two, Arkansas ORG. And then you finish with the team currently at 89, and that's Missouri GPE. And then you do have that Northern Alabama ORG game, who I believe, let me see if I can find them. They're on here somewhere. They are currently 276. You've got to lose that game.

Speaker 2815.8s - 839.5s

You have to cancel it. When I say lose it, I don't mean lose it in the result column. I mean, it cannot be played. I know some Mississippi State fans had some fun at Ole Misses' ORG expense a couple years ago when they canceled that Arkansas ORG state game. It was completely the right decision. They won a national title as a result of it. And I'm not saying state's going to win a national title, but to have a chance to get a regional here in Starville GPE,

Speaker 1840.32s - 848.48s

you just got to tell North Alabama GPE, sorry. Give them some money, you know? North Alabama GPE, would it help you? I gave some money out of my wallet? What can we do?

Speaker 2848.48s - 863.12s

Yeah, I mean, no matter what people think about it, that's got to, I mean, that's your season in a lot of ways in the line. It might dictate where you go. It might dictate you hosting. Who knows?

Speaker 1863.2s - 865.22s

It might even dictate them even making the tournament.

Speaker 3865.34s - 867.22s

We don't know what's going to have an SEC ORG play.

Speaker 1867.66s - 896.38s

Yeah. You got to get rid of it. It's just that simple. Robbie PERSON, everybody's going to talk about Hunter Hines' PERSON home runon Sunday, and they should. Tremendous play from a situation where State ORG was down. It looked likethat Vanderbuk had all the momentum. But tell me I'm crazy, if you want to. The biggest play of that game is Logan Kohler's play in the eighth inning where he goes home and gets the runner on a tremendous defensive play. That's the real play of the game, in my opinion.

Speaker 2897.3s - 908.06s

There were so many late. I mean, that play was big to limit the damage in that inning, or I guess the ending was it ending before they got the lead

Speaker 1908.06s - 911.84s

seven to six that was the eighth they got the lead in the seventh

Speaker 2911.84s - 922.7s

yeah so that inning you keep it where it is seven to six it's a tie game if and I mean the game the whole game plan changes at that point if you're down

Speaker 3922.7s - 927.16s

by two runs we don't even know if Hunter Heinz PERSON comes up and hits home run. We just don't know.

Speaker 2927.56s - 933.86s

It was huge. And then I thought even Bryce PERSON's chances at bat was big. Yeah.

Speaker 1934.06s - 936.04s

To lead off any. Yeah, frustrated him a little.

Speaker 2936.04s - 940.92s

But, you know, around 10 pitches, I think, without a bat, I didn't see the exact number.

Speaker 1941.16s - 943.8s

And then David Mershine PERSON follows right up

Speaker 2943.8s - 945.78s

and has another at bat just like that

Speaker 1945.78s - 956.86s

and then gets it into the outfield for a hit. Chance was very unlucky today. I think two shots that were right at outfielder. I mean, hit the ball well, but they were just well-defense.

Speaker 2957.92s - 964.46s

Honestly, if you look back at the Friday game, they only struck out four times in that game.

Speaker 3964.98s - 965.96s

The offense didn't

Speaker 1965.96s - 967.9s

score, but they were hitting

Speaker 2967.9s - 1006.8s

the ball right at them. It was kind of bad luck. For the most part, I think that this was their best SEC ORG series offensively, whichseems really crazy to say when you consider the fact that they didn't even score on Friday night. But we always know that Vanderbilt ORG's got some really good arms. It's the top five pitching staff in the league. State, I thought, had some really good at bats throughout the weekend. Some big clutch hits on Saturday and Sunday. We're talking about Ethan Pulliam PERSON. Joe Powell, both of those had big hits in the eighth inning to extend the lead on Friday.

Speaker 01007.7s - 1009.64s

Logan Kohler hit a three-run jack.

Speaker 21010.36s - 1038.42s

Everybody in the lineup did something. Even Amani Larry PERSON had a big double. It was, to me, the best offensive display for Mississippi State ORG. And maybe they're starting to find themselves as far as an offense and a lineup. Obviously, they move Larry down this week. Let's see what Bryce Chance can do and lead off for a little bit and let Larry PERSON kind offigure it out down there a little bit. He had a double on a couple of hits this weekend.

Speaker 11038.72s - 1041.16s

Yeah, I had a big double on Sunday.

Speaker 21041.88s - 1054.2s

So I really feel like this was a good, solid weekend for Mississippi State ORG. And, you know, as weird as it sounds, some big moments from the pitching staff out of the bullpen.

Speaker 11054.3s - 1055.7s

It's just about to mention that.

Speaker 21056.5s - 1059.38s

First off, it feels like you've got two guys,

Speaker 11059.58s - 1070.12s

they're not landing Sims PERSON. Nobody is, right? But Tyson Hardin and Tyler Davis PERSON, if they're in the game with the lead, I feel confident that State can hold the lead with those two guys. And then...

Speaker 21070.12s - 1083.58s

And people have talked about, you know, if you're going to get bad Tyler Davis PERSON or... I mean, Tyler Davis, this year... He had one bad game. He's been really good. Yeah. You know, there's really been like a game or two where he came in and it's really the only one.

Speaker 31084.08s - 1086.38s

And it might just be like he walks a guy or something.

Speaker 21086.5s - 1093.24s

It's not like he's getting shailed in there. I mean, he has, let's look. He's got a 152 earner an average in 23 and two thirds CARDINAL. Yeah.

Speaker 31093.44s - 1096.78s

And Brooks Auger PERSON's been pretty good, which.

Speaker 21096.82s - 1097.18s

Auger PERSON.

Speaker 11098.62s - 1100.74s

We can't say enough about that one, Robbie PERSON.

Speaker 21101.14s - 1104.52s

That him pitching five innings on Saturday, incredible.

Speaker 31105.86s - 1109.38s

And Durangelo pitched the game of his life until the sixth.

Speaker 21109.68s - 1109.8s

Yeah.

Speaker 11110.22s - 1116.04s

That's what was kind of, it was, it really sucked because he struck out 11 guys and was

Speaker 21116.04s - 1119.9s

rolling along and just kind of, you know, they left him in a little too long.

Speaker 11119.9s - 1123.46s

And he gets unlucky that he gets a ground ball, but states in the shift.

Speaker 21123.82s - 1126.98s

I mean, if they're not in the shift, that's a double play ball, you probably get out of the inning on Skate PRODUCT.

Speaker 11127.82s - 1158.3s

Just, yeah, some things winning, I mean, we've talked about it all the time, that State ORG finds a way sometimes to have things go against them. They get bad breaks. But this was a game. This is two weekends in a row, by the way, where they've had to come from behind on the Sunday game, and they found a way to do it.I think that's a good sign as well. I also want to mention Carson Ligin to come in and give you an inning of score, on the Sunday game and they found a way to do it. I think that's a good sign as well. I also want to mention Carson Ligon to come in and give you an inning of scoreless relief was huge for Mississippi GPE. Because as soon as he came in, everybody's like, eh, I don't know. And he delivered.

Speaker 21159.24s - 1162.48s

And you got to have that.

Speaker 11162.94s - 1163.44s

Yeah, you do.

Speaker 21163.44s - 1182.4s

So the guys about steppingpping in the bullpen What I've been really impressed with Is more often than not States NORP getting at least Two really good starts Every weekendAnd I don't know When the last time You know maybe 19

Speaker 11182.4s - 1184.66s

21 21

Speaker 31184.66s - 1186.5s

You would get

Speaker 21186.5s - 1186.88s

Saturday

Speaker 11186.88s - 1188.86s

Bednar PERSON and McLeod

Speaker 21188.86s - 1207.62s

or two or towards the end of the season it was Bednar and Harding Hootie was struggling a little bitbut what do you think about Friday Saturday consistent it was 19 when you had again early in the season about midway throughconference plays where he started to lose a little bit. But getting small.

Speaker 11208.34s - 1208.52s

Yeah.

Speaker 21208.68s - 1209.76s

I mean, Cal Stephen PERSON.

Speaker 31210.42s - 1213.74s

Cal Stephen gave up three runs in the first two innings the other night.

Speaker 11214.02s - 1214.16s

Yeah.

Speaker 31214.86s - 1216.58s

And give up one run the rest of the game.

Speaker 21216.88s - 1224.1s

Two solo runs and then a single wild pitch, stolen base, ground ball.

Speaker 11224.88s - 1227.36s

I mean, that's how they gave up the third run.

Speaker 21227.56s - 1261.08s

I mean, three runs is not a bad day at the ballpark. No, I'm at the point. I expect in two games on the weekend, State is going to get two outings of six or more innings from Cal Stephen and Drengello PERSON.There's the rare occasion where Drenzlo PERSON, like, his back was tightened up or whatever at Ole Miss. But more often not, you're going to get six solid innings from him, and there might be an inning in there where he struggles a little bit, but he kind of works his way out of it. And then I kind of like this Brooks Auger PERSON thing.

Speaker 11261.88s - 1264.78s

It worked. It worked last week.

Speaker 21265.16s - 1266.86s

They just left him in a little too long.

Speaker 11267.24s - 1269.3s

This week, they got him through a second trip in the order,

Speaker 21269.38s - 1275.7s

and that was huge for Mississippi State ORG. It helped that they were up 5-0 when it was happening, but he pitched really well.

Speaker 11276.42s - 1278.84s

Could he be like a Houston Harding PERSON guy at this point?

Speaker 21278.84s - 1312.22s

Well, I think he's kind of stretching it out a little bit. That was the first time last week that he had really pitched beyond 50 pitches. Against Georgia, they let him go a little bit, and I think he threw 64 pitches. But he's not a guy that has come in there for Mississippi State ORG and thrown long relief or started and pitched a long outing. I think he's getting used to extending a little bit. And this past week, maybe that's turn to corner because then if you get three guys that can throw and pitched a long outing. I think he's getting used to extending a little bit. And this past week, maybe that's turn to corner, because then if you get three guys that can throw five plus on the weekend,

Speaker 31314.42s - 1315.1s

there's not many teams in the SEC ORG that have.

Speaker 11315.22s - 1315.7s

No.

Speaker 21317s - 1321.68s

I mean, you just don't have that anymore. It's not the old days used to have three starters or two starters

Speaker 31321.68s - 1324.84s

that could go complete games or they could throw seven, eight innings.

Speaker 21325.22s - 1347.22s

You just don't have that anymore. It's kind of like piece it together. Mississippi State ORG is kind of old school in that regard, and that they have, if Auger can really start to stretch it out here, he's really good for like three innings. Like the first time through the order, he's usually really good. And I thought yesterday

Speaker 11347.22s - 1359.54s

he started extending it. If you can go two or three times of the order, then you can get 15 hours or 15 ounce, I guess I should say.Yeah. You're really doing well with Brooks Auger PERSON. But the key,

Speaker 21359.54s - 1435.12s

the key to me is if the offense has found some consistency here, less holes in the lineup, you start to take a little more pressure off of the back end of the bullpen, you kind of get your, kind of get the rolls set in the back end because you feel really good about Tyler Davis PERSON andTyson Hardin right now. And then outside of that, you know, Shulke PERSON's hit or miss, and Nolan Stevens has not been great in SEC ORG play, you really don't have a lot of options right now. So you really need your starters to give you some really good outings, and you need your offense to get going to the pressures off of them. And then you're starting to feel really good about this team. But this team is showing signs of some of these past teams that we've seen that might not be as talented or might not be as deep as a lot of the really good teams from Mississippi State. But they have those, they have the things that you can't really measure like the toughness factor and you know finding a way to to win ball games latethat's a team that can make a run and you know we'll see if this team's able to do it.

Speaker 11435.68s - 1478.76s

Quick look around the SEC ORG before we change topics here. Over in the east Kentucky their lead is down to one game. They lost two out of three this weekend to South Carolina. They're 16 and 5 now in the conference. Tennessee is won six in a row. They're 15 and 6. And then you got a little glut there. Vandy is 11 and 10 with South Carolina GPE. Georgia is at 10 and 11. Florida, 9 and 12. They dropped 2 out of 3 this weekend to Arkansas ORG,and then Missouri got swept by Tennessee GPE, as I mentioned. They're 6 and 15. Arkansas, a game lead on Texas A&M ORG. A&M had the craziest thing of it. Did you see what happened to them, what they did on Saturday? Did you see that? They were down 9 to nothing? They were down 9-0 in the bottom, in the top of the first. That was insane.

Speaker 21478.76s - 1481.86s

And then they run-ruled. And then they run-ruled Georgia.

Speaker 01482.28s - 1487.46s

They scored 19 unanswered to run-rule them. Insane. I've never seen anything like that.

Speaker 21487.92s - 1489.42s

I don't know where Georgia is.

Speaker 11490.56s - 1504.78s

Georgia is a good baseball team. They're not great. They're good. They can beat anybody, but they can lose to anybody. And they have the most feared hitter in college baseball. You know what they are? Without the Tommy Johns, although West Johnson ORG is there.

Speaker 21504.78s - 1509.08s

They're state and 17. Exactly. baseball. You know what they are? Without the Tommy Johns, although West Johnson ORG is there. They're state and 17. Exactly.

Speaker 11509.36s - 1511.38s

So. It's the Colin pitches in the SEC ORG tournament.

Speaker 21511.58s - 1512.66s

We know we have...

Speaker 11512.66s - 1513.82s

Then we know we got some going on there.

Speaker 21514.32s - 1515.68s

So Arkansas 16 and 5,

Speaker 11515.88s - 1517.52s

A&M 15 and 6. State is

Speaker 21517.52s - 1557.3s

12 and 9, so they're four games back of first. They do have a series coming up with Arkansas, Rob PERSON, if they can sweep the razor back, so they'll be right back in it. And then there's a big gap there. Then they have Alabama 9 and 12.LSU and Ole Miss are both 7 and 14. LSU won a series this weekend. They took two out of three from Auburn ORG, who of course is dead last. They are 3 and 18 in conference play. If we went to Hoover today, Missouri and Auburn ORG would be the teams that miss it. LSU and Ole Miss ORG are a gameahead, so they would be 11 and 12 at this point. State ORG would be the 5 seed and would play Oh, Robbie PERSON.

Speaker 11558.56s - 1578.04s

They would play Ole Miss ORG in the first day. You know what that means? I would have another game with Richard PERSON. Yes. You have a shot.I still have a shot if State can win on Wednesday, then we're tied. But then we won't need a tiebreaker if State ORG and Ole Miss play in the SEC ORG tournament. Oh, please.

Speaker 21578.56s - 1588.02s

But you'll have a conundrum because there's the whole Mississippi State ORG is kind of hunting on the SEC ORG tournament games whenever they go there.

Speaker 11588.12s - 1592.32s

I may have a word with Lomonas PERSON. Be like, look, we got to have this one, all right?

Speaker 31592.46s - 1604.64s

You just get past this game. Kyle and Gerangelo are pitching today. All right? Tomorrow I'll pitch. I don't even care. You know what else will suck, though?I'll just go ahead and make this guarantee. That's the 512 game, right?

Speaker 21604.64s - 1610.66s

That means that's the late game. That game will go 22 winnings. I promise you that.

Speaker 11611.58s - 1614.18s

Just give me the, please, for the love of God,

Speaker 21614.28s - 1617.32s

can I just have the first game?

Speaker 11618.06s - 1619.24s

I'm pretty sure that, yeah,

Speaker 21619.28s - 1621.76s

I'm pretty sure that's the 512 is the last game of the night.

Speaker 11622.56s - 1626.72s

Yeah, so. I've set through countless. Yeah, it's been rough. You and I were at the last game of the night. Yeah. So, I've set through countless.

Speaker 21626.96s - 1627.12s

Yeah,

Speaker 11627.18s - 1627.7s

it's been rough.

Speaker 21628.82s - 1633.28s

You and I were at the 17-inning LSU game in 19.

Speaker 11633.58s - 1635.3s

That is a game.

Speaker 21635.6s - 1639.28s

Of all my memories of covering Mississippi State ORG sports,

Speaker 11639.28s - 1649.06s

that is in the top five of the wackiest. Like, I was completely insane by the end of that. We all were.

Speaker 21649.4s - 1650.1s

Yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 11650.1s - 1653.58s

That was the game that Joel and I get back to the hotel at 3.30.

Speaker 21653.58s - 1660.42s

We were about to burn down the Halhampton Inn or wherever we were at Hoover GPE.

Speaker 11661.16s - 1662.26s

Just kill a roach.

Speaker 21662.72s - 1666.6s

I recorded the, I recorded Thunder and Lightning

Speaker 11666.6s - 1667.66s

in the lobby

Speaker 21667.66s - 1669.18s

of my hotel

Speaker 11669.18s - 1677.84s

at 5 in the morning if you go back and find that podcast there's like Musak PERSON playing in the backgroundbecause I'm just in the lobby so oh well

Speaker 21677.84s - 1694.24s

yeah there was there was an old man that walked into the lobby it was like 3.30 a.m and he's he walks in holding a Miller PRODUCT light and I was like30 a.m. and he walks in holding a Miller light. And I was like having a good time, huh? And he said, yeah, it's been a fun night. The dude was like 75 years old.

Speaker 11694.6s - 1721.52s

I walked in. I was staying with a, you know, super talk at that time putting me and Rippy PERSON in the same room. And I walked in at like 5 a.m. And he was like, are you just getting in? You've been out? And I was like, Ripy, the game's only been over for an hour. He was like, what? That's also the night that Ross Bork got the A&M job. It was. I remember Richard PERSON coming

Speaker 21721.52s - 1725.52s

in the press box. I remember I texted Rippy PERSON. I was like, you're going to have to work.

Speaker 11725.94s - 1739.22s

And he was like, what do you mean? I'm at the bar. I was like, no, Doc PERSON. Ross B.ork PERSON's going to Texas A&M. I can't repeat what he said in the text because we're a family program, but he was very surprised by it.

Speaker 21740.16s - 1745.44s

Richard came in and was like, hey, Ross Bjort PERSON just, we both looked at him like,

Speaker 11745.78s - 1746.16s

what?

Speaker 21746.38s - 1747.4s

Like you're on crack.

Speaker 11747.78s - 1755.18s

The other thing I remember about that game was Ben McDonald's son was in the press box and never has a son looked more like his dad

Speaker 21755.18s - 1757.26s

in his life than his son.

Speaker 11758s - 1953.42s

Same haircut and everything. I just looked, I sat down, I looked at him, I was like, that's got to be Ben McDonald's kid.I think Brody Miller PERSON was like, you're right. They're like, that's got to be a big McDonald's kid. I think Brody Miller PERSON was like, you're right. They're like straight out of like 1956. Yeah, I got that. They got the crew cut. So, all right.Let's move into the rest of the show that's brought to by our friends over at the Mississippi Beef Council who want to remind you that beef, it is what's for dinner. Hope the rest of you followed his lead. Enjoy it. Get some great beef on the grill this weekend. Any weekend is a good time to grill some beef.Beef, it's what's for dinner. I see you out there in the lounge with yourBanner M PRODUCT polo on. Get it off. Let's move on with our lives here. And let's get some good stuff at Maroon and Co. ORG They've got unique stuff that you can't get anywhere else. They are the official provider and the exclusive provider for the Bulldog Initiative. So if you want to wear one of those polos or pullovers, you see MSU ORG coaches wearing, you can only get them at Maroon and Co. Before you go to Did you go to Did you knowble this weekend, head to Maroon and Co ORG? Did I tell you, by the way, they love me in Oxford GPE.They just love me. Sitting there. Now, earlier this year, earlier last year, right, I got invited to sit up in the skybox with the Super Talk people. Richard Cross PERSON has never gotten that invitation, right, I got invited to sit up in the skybox with the Super Talk people. Richard Cross has never gotten that invitation, right? So this week, I'm sitting there doing the show.A friend of Richards PERSON comes by. He's like, by the way, hey, dad, if you want to come out and sit at the tent, got plenty of food, I'll get you a parking pass, and you can have my Diamond Club ORG pass too if you want it. And Richard PERSON just looks at him. He's like, you never offered me that. I just want to point out, you know what they're doing? They're recruiting. They're trying to flip me. Well, you've mentioned before that you

Speaker 21953.42s - 1956.68s

will be flipped for money. That's going to be a lot of money.

Speaker 11957.2s - 1997.72s

Whatever they gave Treadwell, Kim Dice PERSON, and Tunsel PERSON, they're going to have to come off more than that, I promise you. But if you, one day, you're bought. One day, oh, you say that. You say, well, get your wife back in here.Let me, let me ask her. Let me ask her what happened if somebody offered you money. So, yeah, if you come in here one day and, like, you pop into the Zoom PRODUCT and I'm wearing a powder blue tee, a powder blue polo, you'll know what happened. You've changed your name. Yeah. I can't, I can't, I. You've changed your name. Yeah. I can't.I can't. I have my old misname. I have it, but I can't say it because then John Sokoloff PERSON might know my middle name. So don't say nothing. Uh-oh. All right.

Speaker 21998.94s - 1999.36s

Football.

Speaker 12000.3s - 2000.82s

Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 22001.26s - 2006.8s

By the way, I just saw, like, I was sitting at Sonic ORG. Love Soap.

Speaker 32007.6s - 2010.66s

Sonic ORG is the most underrated fast food restaurant, I think.

Speaker 22011.18s - 2017.18s

The menu itself, like, as a whole, like, the things that you can get on the menu. It is a, it.

Speaker 12017.18s - 2021.36s

People just don't, I don't think people give it the proper credit.

Speaker 32021.6s - 2022s

It deserves.

Speaker 22022.8s - 2023.34s

Here's my problem.

Speaker 02023.88s - 2025s

Mozilla ORG sticks. Very good. With a shake. Are undefe credit. It deserves. Here's my problem. Motterella sticks

Speaker 12025s - 2029.08s

Very good. With a shake are undefeated.

Speaker 22029.46s - 2033.02s

First off, they have the best dessert in the game for fast food, right?

Speaker 12033.78s - 2038.7s

Like, no, no, no, that doesn't be, but I had, I cheated the other day and got the

Speaker 22038.7s - 2040.28s

Oreo cheesecake, Sonic ORG.

Speaker 12040.9s - 2042.14s

I literally got it today.

Speaker 22042.46s - 2043.06s

Holy crap.

Speaker 12043.64s - 2047.34s

Had no idea that kind of pressure was at it today. Holy crap. Had no idea that kind of pressure was at Sonic ORG.

Speaker 32047.34s - 2048.68s

Holy crap.

Speaker 12048.88s - 2053.56s

You've not had an Oreo cheesecake Sonic Blast PRODUCT, buddy, do yourself that favor.

Speaker 32054.02s - 2059.64s

Because the thing is, on top of the ice cream is a scoop of like a cheesecake ice cream.

Speaker 22059.98s - 2060.1s

Yeah.

Speaker 12060.2s - 2063.68s

And so I took a bite out of it and I just looked at Becky in my eyes.

Speaker 22063.68s - 2067.26s

Like you know that jiff of the dude eating the wings and his eyes bulge in his head?

Speaker 12067.74s - 2068.48s

Yeah. Yeah. That was me.

Speaker 02068.92s - 2071.66s

Well, mine was sort of like when Peter Griffin drank a Red Bull PRODUCT,

Speaker 12071.76s - 2091.98s

and I was sitting there singing a ray of light by Madonna. I was just in there, man. So, yeah, best in the game. Monterello PRODUCT sticks, you can't get those on the menu hardly any. Like Burger Kings PRODUCT are awful. Don't ever order them. The cheddar peppers at Sonic ORG top tier.

Speaker 22093s - 2094.32s

It's incredible one. Their burgers are good.

Speaker 12098.36s - 2098.76s

The only problem is, I love a supersonic double-chibacon cheeseburger.

Speaker 22099.66s - 2101.56s

That's some gun. It's a lot of calories.

Speaker 12102.34s - 2111.92s

I can't go to Sonic ORG right now. Like, Sonic is a cheat day meal. I can't go to Sonic right now. Like, Sonic is a cheat day meal. I can't, I can't eat Sonic ORG and then like eat normally. I can't.

Speaker 22112.52s - 2116.36s

It was without a doubt, it was my pap ball's favorite place.

Speaker 12117.06s - 2118.12s

Sonic ORG is great, yeah.

Speaker 22118.22s - 2121.64s

But that, man, anyway, back to my story.

Speaker 12121.88s - 2126s

We're going to do a summer series one day on just like...

Speaker 22126s - 2128.84s

I think to me it's the most underrated fast food restaurant.

Speaker 12129.08s - 2131.44s

You're not going to get me to disagree much.

Speaker 22131.56s - 2148.84s

So anyway, I'm in the Sonic Drive-Thru in Carthage. I know the people listening in Carthage are going to be upset that I didn't go to like awards or the chicken basket, chicken nugget, sorry, or someplace like that. But my wife wanted a like cherry lime made or something.

Speaker 02148.98s - 2153.2s

So anyway, we pull off the beaten path off of 25 FAC.

Speaker 22153.44s - 2166.06s

We go to Carthage, and the ninth inning begins, and I have it on my phone. And, like, I'm telling Natty PERSON to shut up, sit down. Oh. Oh, he told that beautiful child to shut up. Yelling at my wife.

Speaker 12166.26s - 2167.74s

Wait till I see you again, sir.

Speaker 22168.16s - 2169.22s

I didn't do any of that.

Speaker 12169.26s - 2169.68s

I'm sorry.

Speaker 22171.76s - 2214.48s

My nerves were shot at this point because, you know, it's just, I'm riding. I'm having to get off the road. It's the ninth inning of the game. It's just a lot happening. So we pull in and I watched the ninth inning on my phone and the drive-th through or whatever. But there was like a glare. So I couldn't, all I could see is like theon Hunter Heinz PERSON hit him standing there and looking. And every time I see him doing that, I know it's a home run. When he like hits it and he just stands there and stares at it. So like they show the camera and I see it. It's a home run that he's around the basis. I just now was actually able to clearly see the home run. That thing hit that building.Yeah. He crushed that ball, man.

Speaker 12215.2s - 2216.88s

I tweeted about it.

Speaker 22217.76s - 2219.68s

You got the video up, is what you're saying?

Speaker 12220.28s - 2220.72s

Yes.

Speaker 22220.96s - 2222s

All right, watch my guy.

Speaker 12222.32s - 2237.58s

Start it over. Watch my guy to the right of the plate. We're in the baseball cap. All right. Watch my guy. Start it over. Watch my guy to the right of the plate. We're in the baseball cap. Watch him. He knew. Immediate regret. Immediate. He knew. He knew as soon as it came off the bat, he's like, he said something.

Speaker 22237.82s - 2241.94s

It was like the opposite of the people sitting back there when Elijah McNamee PERSON hit his.

Speaker 12242.12s - 2242.48s

Yes.

Speaker 22242.84s - 2243.54s

They were just like, man.

Speaker 12244.92s - 2245.34s

All right.

Speaker 22246.44s - 2247.68s

The running back,

Speaker 12247.78s - 2325.2s

as the running back room turns over here at Mississippi State ORG. So, Rashard Amos PERSON, we hardly knew you. He's headed to Colorado GPE.Damien Martinez kind of played out the way we thought it would. He's going to Miami GPE. Now Mississippi State ORG, I think this is, pronounced his last name, is it NACOS or NACOS? Pete NACOS?NACOS. NACOS from on three sports. Reporting that Utah State running back Devon Booth will be at Mississippi State starting this weekend. He was at Kansas State this past weekend, but Kansas State got a commitment from Dylan Edwards PERSON. So the Colorado GPE transfer. So he's also canceled to visit Oklahoma State ORG.That leads me to believe that Mississippi State ORG must be in a pretty good spot with him. 805 yards, six touchdowns of season. He goes seven yards of carry for this guy, former junior college All-American named, what was it again? Devon Booth PERSON is the name to watch. So this is the new target. The fact that he canceled another visit leads me to believe that he's coming here intending to commit. We'll see if that ends up being the case. He was at Kansas State ORG, right? Is that right? He was at Kansas State ORG, but so was

Speaker 22325.2s - 2331.36s

Dylan Edwards PERSON, and Edwards is committed. So that, that's why that happened. Yeah. Like Dylan

Speaker 12331.36s - 2336.26s

Edwards, it was like a, you know, either or. It was whoever commits first is getting a spot.

Speaker 22336.4s - 2341.68s

Yeah. Now he's moving in the next. Yeah. It's a bit, this is a big one, and I like this kid a lot.

Speaker 02341.86s - 2345.76s

I don't like him as much as Martinez PERSON, but I think I like him just as much as I did.

Speaker 12346.56s - 2348.86s

He's a different kind of back from what I can tell than Amos PERSON.

Speaker 22349s - 2350.12s

Amos PERSON more of a power guy.

Speaker 12350.2s - 2354.2s

I think this guy's more of the big play that this offense needs to be honest.

Speaker 22354.2s - 2356.24s

I think between Kivon Lee and Pittman PERSON,

Speaker 12356.32s - 2359.48s

you've got guys who can move the pile and get you a yard when you need it.

Speaker 22359.94s - 2365.18s

You need a guy who can break off some big plays, and that's a little bit more of what booth is, I think.

Speaker 12365.94s - 2368.5s

Yeah, seven yards of rush last year.

Speaker 22368.98s - 2370.36s

Take that. That plays, yeah.

Speaker 12370.84s - 2376.56s

And this offense seems to really be friendly to the running back.

Speaker 22377.08s - 2377.42s

Yes.

Speaker 12377.62s - 2383.24s

You look at all the guys that have been back there at Ole Miss.

Speaker 22383.94s - 2385.54s

I mean, we've got to change topics real quick.

Speaker 12387.3s - 2392.22s

RPI ORG just updated. State to 27 on Warren Nolan PERSON. Yeah.

Speaker 22392.76s - 2394.32s

That's a huge jump.

Speaker 12394.86s - 2397.86s

Well, I didn't understand the talk this week.

Speaker 22397.94s - 2401.68s

I think D1 guys, which love all of them, they're all my good friends.

Speaker 12402.22s - 2405.94s

They were using kind of like a projector tool or something to see where Mississippi

Speaker 22405.94s - 2407.68s

State's hard. That for Aaron fit, he's terrible.

Speaker 12407.94s - 2410.06s

You can't, you can't use those

Speaker 32410.06s - 2413.34s

tools for the RPI ORG and I'll tell you why. It's so

Speaker 22413.34s - 2414.72s

ever-changing.

Speaker 32415.46s - 2417.5s

There's so many things that happen.

Speaker 22417.86s - 2443.1s

Other teams win. So much can happen. I've always been the opinion of the opinion of if you just win in this league, you're going to put yourselfin position. It's going to happen. And coming into last week is when I started saying 18 wins, 18 wins. If Mississippi State can get to 18, I think this team's hosting,or at least very much in the discussion. 17.

Speaker 32444.26s - 2447.04s

I mean, I think that's going to be on,

Speaker 12447.2s - 2454.12s

I think you're in the discussion, then you can have some movement in the tournament. But you're sitting here right now at 27, you said,

Speaker 22455.04s - 2459.14s

which I don't know what the NCAA ORG number is.

Speaker 02459.44s - 2462.66s

I would imagine it would be somewhere around 30.

Speaker 22463.4s - 2476.22s

That's a good spot. You've got a top 20 RPI team in Alabama GPE. You've got a top 30 in Ole Miss ORG, which they're going to continue to drop if they keep losing, but you're still in good shape. Arkansas is going to be top five, I'm guessing.

Speaker 32477.06s - 2478.8s

If you can take one game there,

Speaker 22480.18s - 2489.78s

you are going to be right there. I mean, it's shocking that we're even having this conversation right now, but this team really does have every opportunity.

Speaker 12490.44s - 2491.1s

They have the path.

Speaker 32491.9s - 2494.94s

I still get so frustrated at these games that they could have won,

Speaker 12495.04s - 2498.7s

but I'm trying to remember that this is a process.

Speaker 22499.3s - 2500.88s

And I'm trying to understand, like,

Speaker 32501.3s - 2505.74s

you have to just realize how far Mississippi State ORG was away from being

Speaker 22505.74s - 2508.38s

a good team the last two years.

Speaker 32508.86s - 2510.38s

They've just been really bad.

Speaker 22511.12s - 2516.62s

And it's really hard to change, to turn that around, to change that. Yeah.

Speaker 32516.76s - 2521.74s

And that's why we talked about, every time you get to this point, like State ORG was the last

Speaker 22521.74s - 2595.48s

two years, and you're on the verge of firing a coach, you're on the verge of changing it and you bring them back, the percentage chances of it turning back around are very low. But Chris Lamontas PERSON,I think it started with Justin Parker and also adding a few pieces in there that have been just alpha guys and the whole mindset's changing for this this team now they are right now back on the road and you have to give them a I understand Chrisimonis got them into this and they're in this position because of Chrisimonis PERSON because ofwhat they've done last two years but I still think they're afforded of, they're afforded a little bit of grace on figuring it out, on finding ways to win again. And now, even with the losses that you've had, you're still in position right now to get to exactly where you wanted to be. And nobody thought that this team would be capable of getting into the hosting conversation. So to be here after the halfway point, and we're sitting here talking about how can Mississippi State ORG host, is very good. Yeah.

Speaker 12596.18s - 2603.08s

No question about it. That's a big jump. 27's a big jump. I haven't seen the NCAA ORG one yet, but we shall see.

Speaker 22603.08s - 2605.82s

And this is a top 25 FAC team right now, I think.

Speaker 12605.94s - 2608.8s

I mean, they should be ranked when we get the polls tomorrow.

Speaker 22609.08s - 2612.34s

Yeah, for sure. Or today, I guess, is you're listening. So we'll see what happened.

Speaker 12612.34s - 2617.22s

There's no way John Cohen retweeted Mississippi State ORG baseball.

Speaker 22617.38s - 2620.04s

Hunter Hives PERSON hit the home run. John Cohen PERSON.

Speaker 12621.24s - 2622.2s

Still follows me.

Speaker 22622.24s - 2622.68s

Hey, John PERSON.

Speaker 12626.44s - 2628.36s

Well, if he did, he, uh...

Speaker 22628.36s - 2630.4s

I think he deleted it, but we have screenshots.

Speaker 12630.9s - 2632.12s

We got a screenshot, though.

Speaker 22632.38s - 2633.38s

Still loves his dogs.

Speaker 12634.34s - 2635.32s

Does John Cohen PERSON.

Speaker 22636.32s - 2638.74s

I know exactly who to send that to.

Speaker 12640.24s - 2640.72s

Hold, please.

Speaker 22641.28s - 2641.6s

No.

Speaker 12642.6s - 2645.4s

I don't think Rhett could ever speak to me again after last week.

Speaker 22647.88s - 2658.14s

The thing is, like, even though they've turned their back on the dogs, you know they still, like, cheer for state.

Speaker 12659.14s - 2674.02s

All right. I have done what needed to be done there. All right. Tomorrow's show, more baseball, more football, maybe some basketball news at some point. I saw that women's basketball had a big visitoron campus this weekend, so we'll talk about that on tomorrow's show as well.

Speaker 22674.26s - 2678.5s

For Robbie Fault PERSON? Devon Booth PERSON. We'll see this weekend.

Speaker 12678.86s - 2682.34s

See what happens. All right. Talk to you guys tomorrow. For Robbie Falk, I'm Brian Haydad PERSON.

Speaker 02682.34s - 2718.74s

Thanks for listening to Thunder and Lightning here on Super Talk Mississippi Media Production ORG.
