All right, welcome to Out of the Blue from the Block M Podcast Network ORG, part of the

Speaker 8140.86s - 146.62s

fan for sports network, a podcast that has support from all over Europe, except for the French NORP, but we're okay with that.

Speaker 5146.7s - 149.78s

I am Jared Stormer of the Block M Podcast Network ORG with me.

Speaker 8149.86s - 155s

As always, is Andy Bailey PERSON, my hetero life mate. Andy PERSON, you a mortal mutant bent on world destruction.

Speaker 6155.32s - 164.54s

How the hell are you, my friend? Doing well, man. Got to unplug a little bit this weekend, post-Infell draft, relax, and just kind of recharge. It was nice. Absolutely.

Speaker 8164.86s - 193.72s

Yeah, me as well. It kind of feels like a furious sprint up to the draft. But the post-draft coverage, really things are going to start to settle down now. It might actually take next week off and then we'll come back. Recharged, refreshed, get into the off-season content. But this week, we got some good stuff for you. We're going to talk some Michigan ORG basketball, but really the bulk of the podcast talking about the NFL draft and where our beloved Wolverines NORP fell in what I thought was a really fun event in Detroit GPE. It seemed like great turnout, which I could have been there.

Speaker 6194.4s - 215.64s

Crowd was massive. I mean, there's probably like 300,000 people there. The energy was electric. I love the presentation, the pageantry of it to have like Eminem PERSON. I love, I mean, not a Roger Goodell fan, but I like the self-deprecating sketch at least with he and Eminem and the legends, Barry Sanders, Calvin Johnson, the Michigan representation on day two to kick things off.

Speaker 0215.72s - 219.98s

I mean, as, you know, Michigan ORG fans and podcasters, I mean, what more can we have asked for?

Speaker 3224.06s - 224.9s

Absolutely, sir.

Speaker 0224.9s - 230.34s

Before we get into that, let's talk a little Michigan ORG basketball, some quick hits in there as well.

Speaker 8230.66s - 247.34s

First of the quick hits, this one hurts. I'm not going to lie. I have been maybe the most vocal Amir Herring PERSON supporting out there outside of his own mother. And Amir Herring along with DJ Waller, Jeremiah Beasley, Samaj Bridgman, and Hayden Moore, all transferring out of Michigan ORG since we last spoke.

Speaker 6248.48s - 269s

Yeah, and some kicker with three names, but we don't need to address that. The depth here is the loss. I mean, DJ Waller is probably the biggest individual that was going to contribute this season, but just a loss in a lot of depth that kind of puts the coaching staff and program under a little bit of pressure in terms of recruiting development and how they're going to attack the transfer portal to mitigate these losses.

Speaker 8270.24s - 315.82s

Yeah, and I mean, Herring was in line to start maybe next year, but I guess you get your natty and you just bounce. All right, fellas, we'll see you. Go enjoy your time at Kentucky ORG, where it sounds like DJ Waller PERSON is going. He was in line to maybe be the starting cornerback for the defending national champions. It's a bizarre choice. I always feel personally hurt. The Amir Herring one hurts the most since Miles Spider-Sim spurned us for Georgia Tech ORG. You build an attachment to these guys, oftentimes based on nothing at all. But I think with Waller and Herring PERSON in particular here, there was a lot of stuff to be excited about. So do wish them the best in their journey. But like you said, you know, depth now at the cornerback position, we were saying we don't need a transfer there.I immediately changed my mind on that when we lose a potential starter and DJ Waller PERSON.

Speaker 6316.38s - 361.32s

Yeah, it feels like you need one there just because of the potential for an injury. I still like the options that could start, whether that be Keishon Harris, McBurrow, Zekeberry PERSON, Jire Hill as well, had an awesome spring game. You feel good about those guys. I still like the options that could start, whether that be Kishon Harris, McBurrow, Zeke Berry PERSON, Jire Hill PERSON as well, had an awesome spring game. You feel good about those guys, but he just wanted a little experience in there. You want something a little more proven, whether that just be to rotate or in case, like I said, an injury happens, that's what you need. And at linebacker, I mean, you talk about the linebacker room now gets really thin, and it's like if a houseman or baram goes down, it's like we're putting a lot of pressure on the hood and roller to hold things up. And beyond them, we're really going to trust 218 pound true freshman Cole Sullivan PERSON to step into shoes on a potential elite defense this year. That gets scary.I'm with you, man.

Speaker 8361.42s - 364.7s

I didn't prep you for this, but I got a superlative for you if you're ready for this.

Speaker 6365.12s - 365.84s

I love these. I know you. I know, you're always ready for this, but I got a superlative for you if you're ready for this. I love these.

Speaker 8366.38s - 366.96s

I know you.

Speaker 6366.96s - 370.92s

You can bring back one of these Michigan ORG players in their prime.

Speaker 8371.46s - 382.88s

Are you bringing back Olu Oluwitimi, Ronnie Bell, Mike McCray, or I had one more, and it escapes me. Oh, Josh Wallace PERSON.

Speaker 6385.08s - 397.2s

Josh Wallace PERSON, which is going to sound crazy for a lot of things. Like, I feel good about the interior offensive line, although I think Olu PRODUCT of the players you named was the best. I think he was the best.

Speaker 0397.58s - 400.68s

Mike McCrae PERSON brings some good run stopping, but I think he would get stretched out in

Speaker 3400.68s - 400.88s

this.

Speaker 0400.98s - 410.52s

I like the athleticism we have there, even at the two deep in terms of that. And the other one, oh, yeah, Sabroni Bell PERSON. Like I said, he's a great player, brings a lot to

Speaker 6410.52s - 418.86s

the wide receiver room, but you kind of have a lot of receivers already built like him. Now, Nico Collins PERSON would have made that a very fascinating discussion. Yeah, I thought about

Speaker 8418.86s - 423.98s

Nico PERSON, but I'm like, he's a little too good. He's also absolutely blowing up right now. So I think

Speaker 6423.98s - 435.36s

that might be a little bit too skewed. Olu would be interesting because then you might be able to use Rahim Anderson PERSON somewhere else. And I don't know. I mean, that unfortunate would probably push our guy Cripping PERSON to the bench.

Speaker 8435.66s - 468.62s

But I mean, again, we can get better. Again, once again, he's comfortable there. But yeah, all right, just an interesting little exercise there. I'll keep pushing with the quick hits out out Amir Herring, DJ Waller, Jeremiah Beasley, Bridgman PERSON, and more in Arkansas State transfer kicker Dominic Zavada, who last year for Arkansas State went 34 or 40 on field goals. He was 14 to 17 from 40 yards plus. This is an area that was really something that we were highlighting as an area where we needed to bring in a body. So I'm imagining you're excited about this.Yes.

Speaker 6468.72s - 493.64s

I mean, I thought I was, I feel like I was one of the first people clamoring for a kicker transfer after the game, just pounding on the table. So yeah, I love it as a true freshman in 2022. He hit 97% of his field goals, only missed one extra point throughout his entire career. So I like the upside. It's a really, it's like at kicker, you know, just getting the competition in there, getting some more capablebodies, a guy that's actually kicked in real games. I mean, can't help but feel this as a win.

Speaker 8494.58s - 506.88s

Yeah, absolutely. Man, last year we got James Turner PERSON. If we just got James Turner level production every year, we're going to be fine at Michigan ORG. You just need competence in there. And it seems like this guy brings that. That freshman years above DATE average.

Speaker 7508.82s - 508.92s

I mean, 97% of your kicks as a freshman.

Speaker 2509.72s - 509.8s

That's really incredible.

Speaker 7510.94s - 516.36s

If he can get back to that level, could even be a bit of a weapon. I'm not sure. What's his career long? Do you have that there in front of you?

Speaker 6520.14s - 523.14s

I'm not sure that this guy has like a moody leg, but I don't think he's got the big leg. But really, if you're just accurate from 40 and under, that's all that really matters.

Speaker 8524s - 524.64s

Seriously, yeah.

Speaker 6524.7s - 528.22s

If you hit 97% from 40 and below, we're good.

Speaker 8528.44s - 531.24s

His only miss kick his freshman year was from 51.

Speaker 6532.34s - 533.2s

Fine with that.

Speaker 8533.4s - 567.68s

Yeah, totally fine with that. And I mean, excited to see what he can do for us. You got to at least challenge Adam Samaha PERSON after we saw some shaky, shaky kicking in the spring game. So this is joyous. We'll see what else they go do in the transfer portal. There was some rumblings about a potential return of the former chosen one,Amarian Walker, who was one of my higher picks on last year's spring game before that one got decimated by transfers. Gotta love the transfer portal, at least when it's helping you and not hurting you. But yeah, what have you heard about the Amarian Walker PERSON transfer in?

Speaker 6568.16s - 603.74s

So some rumblings have emerged from Old Miss GPE that he's in the portal and he could be. He's open to a return to Michigan ORG. Now the question and what I'm fascinated in is a return to Michigan ORG at corner or is it a wide receiver? Because at wide receiver, he immediately fills a void and provides a body that this wide receiving unit does not have because Walker's let 6.3, it's a big guy out there, 6.4 maybe. Like that would be a welcomed addition in there.I mean, that's again, that's where he was cruded. That's where he played early on in 2022. Like now that he's a third year player, I mean, it could really help that team.

Speaker 8604.46s - 610.14s

Yeah, we need bodies there 100%. And I'm totally fine with my bad. I was tripping transfer back.

Speaker 3611.24s - 612.68s

Big fan of that, actually.

Speaker 8612.84s - 640.84s

So yeah, come on back. We'll welcome you with open arms, particularly in the receiver room. As you mentioned, I'd be surprised if he could come back into that cornerback room, get up to speed, and get onto the field like that quickly in Wink Martindale's defense to be like a very intelligent player out there as well. I'm not saying he's not an intelligent player, but it'd be tough to kind of pick that up and beat out like thejaden McBurros PERSON of the world. Whereas that receiver depth chart, yeah, there's there's balls for the

Speaker 6640.84s - 655.12s

that better. I've never seen one snap of Amarian Walker at Corner that makes me excited about him playing corner in the future. So please, come back and play wide receiver. We need you. I'm with you on that.

Speaker 8655.22s - 742.96s

They also offered, what was it, C.J. Charleston, six foot receiver as well. So, I mean, they clearly recognize what we all recognize that it might be time to add a body in the receiver room. I think cornerback will probably be something that they look at now with DJ Waller PERSON coming out because I was reading that he was in line to start. That's why I drafted him in our spring draft. So that obviously changes things up that shakes out. Or maybe he had been beaten out since the spring game. Who knows? You said he might have been offered a bag by Kentucky ORG.They are known for throwing bags. So yeah, go enjoy six wins down there. We're just going to go run to another Big Ten ORG championship. Don't mind us. Anything else? Oh, yes, absolutely. This will lead into our basketball discussion here. The official commitment of Vlad the Impaler Golden PERSON, the 7-1 behemoth, who was carved out of St. Petersburg Square FAC himself, I look, hey, look, bring Ivan Drago mixed with a moose. That's what we needed on this team. Even though we already had seven-foot Danny Wolf PERSON,this guy's more, actually was less efficient last year than Terris Reed PERSON. So the efficiency of Golden PERSON is he's a much more true center. I think a little bit more skilled. I'm excited about this edition. And I would say that probably the roster is set now. I mean, might be one or two like minor tweaks, but I would imagine this is probably what we're going to get. I love it.

Speaker 6743s - 766.02s

I'm so excited about this team. I sent you the roster heights last night. I heard like this is the best thing I've ever seen in my life. Like finally have a big team at all positions, one to five, a versatile, exciting unit. Like at the very least, this team is going to be fun and they're always going to have a seven-footer on the court no matter what. And in modern college basketball, as we just saw with Yukon the last couple years, that's a necessity for success.

Speaker 8766.94s - 811.88s

Huge fan of it. Yeah, I watch a lot of NBA ORG and just my favorite teams to watch, like the OKC Thunder. That's kind of how they're built, like nobody under 6-6 on the floor at a given time. We're not quite at that level. Looking at our heights, you got guard, Tray Donaldson PERSON, 6-2, Roddy Gale, 64, Namari Burnett, 6, 5, Rubin Jones, 6, 5, Shetter, 68, Sam Walter 610, Wolf, 7 foot, and Golden 71. That is a large, large team. There could be two seven footers on the floor at certain given times, depending on matchups, if you think Wolf might be ableto play a little power for it. I think more likely, though, these guys are staggered a lot like you were alluding to there. And yeah, size, shooting, playmaking, this feels like a tournament team to me.

Speaker 6813.02s - 845.4s

Oh, man, I'm so excited. And we should mention also George Washington PERSON back in the portal, unlike his namesake, you know, not really committed to loyalty and riding it out. But, you know, conversation for another time. We get to History Corner FAC. But super excited with what they're going to do. It just seems versatile. It seems fun. Everything seems fresh. Again, Dusty May PERSON continues to check all the right boxes. It feels like all the moves are done. I wouldn't be surprised to see maybe one or two change here and there. We'll be very weird with, I believe, Jace Howard PERSON is back.So that's kind of awkward.

Speaker 8846.3s - 854.12s

Yep. Sorry about your dad. Well, yeah. Anyways, can I interest you in two minutes off the bench per night?

Speaker 6855s - 861.88s

It's like to be ninth man. Otherwise, go grab some bench. Yeah, it's going to be a weird set up there.

Speaker 8861.88s - 866.58s

But man, I like it. It's just a totally turned over roster. I like a lot of what I'm seeing on there.

Speaker 6866.74s - 867.36s

I'm with you, man.

Speaker 8867.44s - 868.02s

I'm excited.

Speaker 6868.16s - 871.2s

Obviously, like we were saying, like everything coming up roses for Dusty Me

Speaker 3871.2s - 873.2s

right now, we'll see how it actually looks on the court.

Speaker 6873.44s - 875.12s

But checking every box.

Speaker 3875.2s - 877.88s

So I'm super in on this basketball team.

Speaker 8877.96s - 884.9s

Got a while until that kicks off, though. Anything else about the basketball team before we get into the meat of this bad boy, start recapping some NFL ORG draft?

Speaker 6885.36s - 888.68s

No, done with the foreplay. Let's get to it. All right, absolutely.

Speaker 8888.8s - 892.6s

Should we do History Corner FAC now? I did want to talk Irish NORP potato famine.

Speaker 6893.7s - 899.42s

I have some thoughts about agriculture and the colonies, but we can save that. All right.

Speaker 8899.48s - 1075.84s

We'll save it for when we talk Council of Trent next week. Let's get into the draft recap. Can I go on a rant here to open this thing off? By all means, sir. You know, I love a good rant. All right. So you and I listen to quite a few podcasts. We get out there, particularly when it's coming time for the draft. We want to be involved. And there's certain ones that we like Daniel Jeremiah PERSON, clat. I listened to a couple that I didn't quite like. I wanted to get some different opinions on what the people thought about thisquarterback class. And oh, boy, did I find some out there? And the knocks on J.J. McCarthy PERSON and the way that people were talking about the pick at 10 and about how uncertain he is. And to be fair, I'm fine with taking penics ahead of him. I personally wouldn't do that, particularly in Atlanta where he's going to have to sit for two years and hopefully get healthier when he starts as a 26 year old.But I digress. I'm fine with that. But the discussion and the discourse around J.J. McCarthy PERSON has just gone way too far to the other side. Whereas everyone is saying like you'd like to see it more. We'd like to see it more. Like maybe should have came back to Michigan. If he came back to Michigan again, brother, he's not going 10. He's going one next year if he comes back and repeats that performance. So you're getting next year's potential number one quarterback at 10. The other thing that I'm hearing, not a big arm.Okay. I'm going to lose it here. I'm so mad about this. Not the biggest arm. He only threw behind one player in this class that was faster than him on the miles per hour in that. And that was Joe Milton. If you go back to 2018, there's only one other player that is thrown faster than more miles per hour than either of them. And that's freaking Josh Allen. The list is Josh Allen, Joe Milton, J.J. McCarthy. So yeah, he has a live arm. He has like a Matt Stafford arm. So I am not getting any of this discussion about like not a live arm. That's just categorically incorrect. And then the last piece about it is you would like to see him be a little bit more consistent. Totally fine. But that's why you're getting him at 21. You're not drafting him for what he is because if that was the case, Michael Penix would go number one. You are going for what he could be.And to me, that is his ceiling. And that ceiling is all over the tape. So I don't know who the folks were. I think it was the ringer guys that really got me on this tirade. But I just do not understand the discourse of why you would trust Drake May more than JJ McCarthy. And you're going to base that on the fact that he lit up the ACC ORG. Look at how Drake May performed against Clemson ORG, the only really serviceable defense in that conference and tell me that he's better than J.J. McCarthy PERSON.And then go look at how J.J. McCarthy PERSON performed down the stretch against a ton of guys that were picked in this draft. So I just think that the discourse is ridiculous, and particularly the weak arm and like the decision making stuff. I just think is unfounded. So end of rant. That was fantastic.

Speaker 61076.2s - 1222.32s

And again, you and I don't mind listening to things we disagree with. I think it's healthy. You need to have that to avoid group think and get a difference of opinion in there. But it's got to be for the right reasons. Like, I need logic behind it. Like, if you want to pick at JJ PERSON again for like, you feel more comfortable seeing it more. You want to see different things and him handle more. That's,that's all well and good. But make him valid. It's all I ask. Just, you know, make it correct. Like the live arm is one of the biggest things. It's really funny to me too. It's like, okay, after Jaden Daniels is his third year at Arizona State ORG, what was he? After Joe, after Bo Nix's third year at Auburn ORG, what was he? Look at what J.J. is in three years. This is what he is.And now you can expand on that and build it. If he had three more years in college, the numbers he would put up, like if he wanted to go to a past heavy offense. And you look at the first, like, real throw of his Michigan career in 2021. He breaks a tackle, rolls out to his right, throws across the damn field, 40 yards and hits. I forget who it was. Dailan Baldwin PERSON?Dailen Baldwin. Excellent job by you in stride for a touchdown. I can throw no one makes and he does it. And then I love the fact that nobody brings up that during the Maryland ORG, during the Penn State ORG game, he gets injured, the Maryland week he can't practice or walk and has to find a way to get things done, delivers the ball, fights through it. People like say the, oh,he's a winner and like knock it. Like, oh, that's what the old generation says. I don't care about that. Shit still matters. Gets it done on the field he's a winner and like knock it but like oh that's what the old generation says I don't care about that shit still matters gets it done on the field finds away and that's all he talked about and I thought he gave a very insightful interview with rich eyes in the day before thedraft talking about yeah it was hard for me I went to hardball I was like I'd like to throw it a little bit more I want to be more involved and he told me and just laid it out very plainly like winning is the most important thing and as a, you will not be known for anything if you don't win. And coming from Harbaugh, who is a quarterback and has had a lot of success, that meant a lot to Jay J.J. Even during the Penn State game, he talked about that, how Sharon PERSON came to him and said, hey, man, we got to win this game and we got to get it done on the ground. And he was like, I thinkRobinson PERSON is going to have a big one. And this is our best way to win. He's like, I get it. I can understand that. And to have that kind of understanding at age 20 during the year and then to lead the drive against Nick Sabin PERSON and perform over and over again, just some of the discourse was so unwarranted and so unfounded. So I echo all of those thoughts.Well said, sir.

Speaker 81222.48s - 1317.94s

Absolutely. Yeah, man. And that first, like when you're looking for like, what is the ceiling? Well, there you have it. And that ceiling looks awfully Mahomesian NORP. You know, it looks at times pretty ridiculous. I mean, that's a, that's borderline sacrilege. But yeah, the discourse way too far to one side. That being said, J.J. McCarthy PERSON taken by the MinnesotaVikings, the team that we were hoping he would go to, despite him being in the division, just way, way, way better set up than some of these other teams. I'm glad Atlanta ORG didn't move up to take him and put him into that messy situation there. So they move up just a little bit, didn't have to sell the farm like we thought they would to move up and get him. And they only give away, I mean, I think it was like a third round pick to move up with the Jets to get him at 10. And he immediately enters a great situation, man. This is why we had him at number one when we were power ranking where we wanted him to go. Head coach Kevin O'Connell, the O.C. is West Phillips. They went seven and ten last year. Justin Jefferson PERSON went for overa thousand yards last year, despite the fact that they played like three different quarterbacks. And one of them was like Josh Dobbs. And then the one behind that was like Nick Mullings PERSON or something like that. It was it was not ideal quarterback play. So he comes in, got an established left tackle and Christian Dara Saw, Brian O'Neill at right tackle, Garrett Bradbury PERSON at center. So that's a pretty solid offensive line. And he doesn't have to start right away with Sam Darnold PERSON right there if you want to kind of bring him along slowly. So this is where he wanted to go.I believe he told that to Joel Clatt PERSON. So I'm just so happy for him, man. Wasn't there at the draft, but you could tell he was happy that he ended up in Minnesota ORG.

Speaker 61318.54s - 1323.8s

Not to mention Jordan Addison on the other side, T.J. Hawkinson PERSON, it tied in. I'm coming back from injury, but still.

Speaker 01324.2s - 1329.02s

And Aaron Jones PERSON running back now. A versatile pass-catching physical runner, like,

Speaker 81329.38s - 1333.06s

completely set up for success. The thing I'm most excited about is Kevin O'Connell,

Speaker 01333.44s - 1339.22s

just kind of like a quarterback whispering savant. Like last year, Kurt Cousms PERSON having the best year

Speaker 61339.22s - 1359.92s

of his career before injury. And then what he got out of just a revolving door of awfulness from quarterback, so at least be competitive in games. And now he has McCarthy that he can mold from age 21 forward. Like McCarthy's second contract is going to come do by the time like Bo Nix PERSON and Michael Panics are finishing their first year in the NFL ORG. But that is such a benefit for this team.

Speaker 81360.62s - 1380.3s

Yeah, which is why I just can't get behind the Pennix PERSON pick. And we'll kind of talk some general draft stuff later. But like you're getting a whole extra four years basically, which is why I just can't get behind the Pennix PERSON pick. And we'll kind of talk some general draft stuff later. But like you're getting a whole extra four years, basically, with Jayne McCarthy, getting him at 21. Do you imagine that they would want to start him next year? I mean, I personally don't think there's that big of a gap between Sam Darnold PERSON and current J.J. McCarthy. But how do you see it?

Speaker 61380.8s - 1400.1s

I think so. When you take a quarterback in the top 10, I think it's best to get him out there, especially when you have a head coach that is quarterback savvy like O'Connell is. He's not going to let him accrue a bunch of scars, like similar to like Jared Gough and Jeff Fisher, like not that situation. So the best way to get better at football is by playing football. So I expect to see McCarthy start in probably week one.

Speaker 81401s - 1465.24s

I would imagine so as well. And he can go out there and they can say just, hey, you don't necessarily need to win us this game. Don't lose us this game. A lot of kind of what happened at Michigan ORG is like they're not going to ask anything too crazy of them right out of the gate. Now, eventually you're going to want to see what you can get. And if you can realize that ceiling and you're going to ask him to go out and make those plays. But yeah, just lean into what you do great.I imagine T.J. Hawkinson's going to be a great fantasy pickup next year because he's going to, I mean, just knowing that JJ loved his tight ends at Michigan ORG, having a good receiving tight end. And then Justin Jefferson PERSON, obviously, that's going to be a super, super fun pairing. And then Addison PERSON on the other side, as you mentioned, man, that is a lot of weapons. Those are better weapons, like, by far, even when you do, you know, the comparison of what he had at Michigan ORG, you know, comparison of what what he had atMichigan you know having loveland obviously great to have but like that is just a huge step up as far as your receiver talent so I'm excited man I don't really know what I would predict for his first season because you know they're going to probably try and run the ball quite a bit they're probably going to ease him into into things but he's set up to win rookie of the year.

Speaker 61468.28s - 1486.02s

Yeah, 100%. I might put some money down on that. I mean, you could not land in a better quarterback situation for anybody. It's even better than Caleb Williams in Chicago. It's even better in Jaden Daniels PERSON with the commanders. Like, this is the best situation. Like stable ownership, stable everything. Like, God, I hate he's in the NFC ORG north and I hate that I think he's going to be good

Speaker 31486.02s - 1487.92s

for a long time, but I'm really happy for JJ PERSON.

Speaker 81488.62s - 1491.46s

Yeah, that division is a gauntlet all of a sudden

Speaker 31491.46s - 1493.72s

with what the Bears ORG did.

Speaker 81493.82s - 1534.64s

The Packers ORG were already arrived and like some mistakes by like Dallas and some other teams in front of them allowed the Green Bay Packers to have a great draft. So yeah, the Lions ORG kind of left without a chair here as far as the young up-and-coming quarterbacks, although I think the Lions ORG are still the best roster on paper right now.But better get those wins in now because they are coming. That division is coming. And it's going to be probably the toughest division in sports before too long. So excited for JJ PERSON. Congratulations to him. Round two of the draft. We saw Chris Jenkins go to the Cincinnati Bengals and Sainrestil PERSON. Our guy, Mikey, goes to the Washington ORG commanders. The floor is yours, my friend.

Speaker 61535.24s - 1599.8s

With the Jenkins pick, it's the obvious DJ Reader PERSON replacement. And now he becomes the third Wolverine on that defense with Dax Hill and D.J. Turner PERSON. So just adding to the Cincinnati Wolverines ORG down there. I love the fit. I love what he's going to be asked to do. I love a defensive coordinator. So I think it's just kind of handing glove for what he will be tasked with. And Mikey Sainer PERSON still, you want to turn around a team in a city that's been spurned by bad ownership and incompetence for decades. This is how you turn it around. You start with the culture and you start with game changers like Mikey PERSON.So it's just a perfect fit for him. Like it's, you know, it's kind of a weird thing to think about in terms of leadership. Like you don't want like leaders. I mean, you do want leaders to go to like, you know, good, stable places. But Mikey PERSON's the kind of guy that can change things, like from a nickel position. And I love that he's going to have an opportunity to do that there with a lot of young and exciting players as we alluded to last week when we talked about like situations for quarterbacks like or for quarterbacks like it just it continues so it's kind of for the first time really maybe since our first time since rg three the Washington ORG commanders the football

Speaker 81599.8s - 1675.06s

team is exciting for the future the commies yeah it is i like what you said there where it said there where it's like, oh, man, you'd like him to go to a little bit better culture, a little bit better fit. But he's the type of player that can create his own culture or create the culture that you want to instill there. So he is a tone setter. So, and also like we were talking about Washington ORG as a potential J.J.McCarthy destination, just because they've been like a laughing stock for the last couple of years, doesn't mean they're always going to be a laughing stock. As the Lions proved, the Tiger ORG can change its stripes. So he could be a huge part of that. I'm a little less sold on Jaden Daniels PERSON as a long-term fix at quarterback. That's another discussion. But yeah, him on that defense is going to be fun. And now I have a reason to watch commanders games. They were pretty easily low, low, low, or maybe the lowest on my. Panthers are always going to be the lowest on the watchability scale last year. But I think they're moving up on the NFL Sunday ticket ranking now with Mikey PERSON there. And then with Chris Jenkins taking one pick before him at 49.Yeah, man, like that's an easy tune in for us. Now, Jenkins, Dax Hill, DJ Turner PERSON. Unfortunately, the Bengals ORG were the, I think, the last, the lowest rated past defense last season. So some room for improvement.

Speaker 01675.38s - 1699.58s

Chris Jenkins, the DJ Reader PERSON replacement. Big shoes to fill, also a different type of player. Like, not really, I don't see a ton of similarities between Chris Jenkins and DJ Reader PERSON. So maybe some stylistic changes come into that Cincinnati Bengals ORG defense. But I'll be excited to watch. And they also got in the,I think the Bengals also took Eric All PERSON in this draft. So a bunch of familiar faces over there. I mean,

Speaker 81700.34s - 1701.14s

Eric All PERSON there,

Speaker 61701.22s - 1702.28s

I like,

Speaker 81702.28s - 1706.12s

I like what he's going to be tasked with you and I, like, you know,

Speaker 61706.12s - 1727.46s

we've had our ups and our downs with Mr. All PERSON, but like the end of the day, I like to fit with that offense of what they're going to be doing. Like him is a pass catcher with Joe Burrow PERSON and those weapons around him. I mean, we'll see what happens with T. Higgins PERSON out there, but I love it. So good for Eric All, man, you know, going to Iowa for a quick sabbatical, and now you're back with Cincinnati Wolverines ORG.Outstanding.

Speaker 81727.62s - 1733.7s

Yeah, excited for him. Let's keep it pushing with the Wolverines NORP, though. In round three, this pick. God PERSON bless this pick.

Speaker 61733.84s - 1736.54s

Junior Colson. Let's go one by one here. There's so much good to talk about.

Speaker 81737.32s - 1774.52s

Yeah, absolutely. This pick in round three, number 69, very nice. Junior Colson goes to the Los Angeles Chargers joining Jim Harbaugh PERSON and just an emotional scene. Like I'm not going to lie. It was like the onions were getting chopped up a little bit when this was going on because I think the quote was he picked me. He picked me again. And just like knowing about their relationship and what Junior Colson's going to mean for that culture, he's going to be a tackling machine probably leads them in tackles like as soon as year one. I mean, this is, it might be my favorite fit. I don't want to like for that culture, he's going to be a tackling machine, probably leads them in tackles, like as soon as year one.I mean, this is, it might be my favorite fit. I don't want to, like, spoil that. We're going to talk about that at the end here when we do some superlatives, but this is so nice, man.

Speaker 61775.6s - 1799.44s

Reunited with Jesse Mentor, Harbaugh, the entire staff. I mean, his story, how can you not get behind? Just orphaned at age nine in Haiti GPE, gets adopted, develops into what he is in the United States GPE, like takes a kid and picks up football late, Harbaugh. He comes to Michigan ORG and now just gets to go back with, oh, my God. It's getting emotional now thinking about it. Like, it was just so awesome. Like, he felt so good. He's going to be a day one

Speaker 01799.44s - 1813.9s

starter there in terms of football fit. He's going to be an anchor for that defense. Like, the value's tremendous at Pick 69, like in round three. I love where they got him. I love that this was Harbaugh's first Michigan ORG guy he chose to. It wasn't his last, but I love that this was the first one.

Speaker 81814.58s - 1844.34s

Yeah, we were kind of waiting for that shoe to drop. Like we know he's taking somebody. We get past rounds one and two. We can talk a little bit about the Chargers ORG draft too later on in this. But yeah, once that happened, man, it was like just such a feeling of joy. And I'm so happy for him, like you said, he's going to be a day one starter.I'm not too certain of what their defensive tackle room looks like, but you got Derwin James on that defense. You got the Bosa PERSON, one of the Bosa brothers. I think they have, they have Joey, right?

Speaker 61844.64s - 1849.12s

They have Joey. They have Khalil Mack. And they have one corner, I can't think of that's

Speaker 81849.12s - 1871.84s

also elite. So they have some pieces. Yeah, there's some pieces. So he's coming into a defense that I think is going to be expected to probably be their strongest unit right out of the gate as they're kind of still working on rebuilding that offense. Seems like a two-year rebuild for them. But so excited for this, man. He's going to put up absolute numbers and he's in a great position to succeed. Couldn't be happier for him, like you said, it's impossible to root against this guy.

Speaker 61872.44s - 1902.64s

No, and no matter what the overall record is next season, Harbaugh echoed this when he took over to the 49ers, that team is going to be a mother effort to play next year. Like, they're going to be physical and it's going to suck every time you line up against them. It's not going to be a mother effort to play next year. Like they're going to be physical and it's going to suck every time you line up against them. It's not going to be an easy kind of like walk in the park, not a seven on seven type of team. They're going to come and run the ball 40 times a game down your throat. And the defense is just going to get after you as well.So they're kind of like our inherent like second team next year. Maybe our lines of the AFC, lions of the West LOC, if you will.

Speaker 81903.04s - 1904.76s

So it'll be fun to watch, man.

Speaker 31904.76s - 1908.66s

And just having Colson PERSON on the team makes it all the easier. 100%, man.

Speaker 81908.7s - 1918.94s

Let's take a quick break. When we come back, we'll keep pushing. We'll go draft pick by draft pick as well as do some superlative, some of our favorite fits, best positions to succeed, stuff like that. We'll be back right after this.

Speaker 11919.44s - 1947.16s

Speaker 81980.3s - 2005.1s

All right, we are back. We are righteous men. The NFL draft remains very good. And congrats to the Detroit crowd. You shouted him out beginning there, man. But that was unbelievable. I expected nothing less. The Detroit crowd showed out all the Wolverines there. Rich Eisen on the broadcast, just giving love to the Wolverines. It was a very good day for football in the state of Michigan ORG, very good year for football in the state of Michigan.

Speaker 62007.1s - 2007.94s

It makes sense that the draft was there.

Speaker 82014.58s - 2014.68s

It would have sucked so much if Michigan hadn't won the national title this year with the draft in Detroit GPE because you would have missed so much of this.

Speaker 62015.96s - 2016.1s

Like it just wouldn't have been the same.

Speaker 82018.68s - 2022.14s

And like it really was like the cherry on top. We kind of talked about like, you know, the spring game and stuff turning the page to the next year.

Speaker 62022.74s - 2026.1s

Now it really feels like the page is turned the next year because the guys are now

Speaker 82026.1s - 2027.96s

officially former Wolverines NORP.

Speaker 62028.96s - 2029.32s

Absolutely.

Speaker 82029.62s - 2034.58s

And speaking of former Wolverines, things started to go hot and heavy in round three as we got.

Speaker 62034.68s - 2035.56s

I've never seen this.

Speaker 22035.72s - 2038.7s

Three back to back to back from the same school.

Speaker 62038.8s - 2039.84s

And of course, it's Michigan ORG.

Speaker 82040.3s - 2047.66s

83, 84 and 85 are Blake Corum to the Rams, Roman Wilson to the Steelers ORG, Zach Zinter to the Cleveland Browns. Where do you want to start?

Speaker 32048.66s - 2050.54s

I love all three fits.

Speaker 62051.62s - 2081.76s

I wish I could just, like, I don't know about it here, but I love all three. Just like, we'll start with Corum PERSON, who he's going to come in and spell Kyron Williams. He's going to be coached by Sean McVeigh, one of the most well-respected and trusted offensive minds of his time. Like, and the fact that, like, he's going to come into a room in the offense that wants to run the ball first and foremost. Like, don't get it twisted with the 11 personnel and all that. They want to run the football. And he won't have to carry the full workload by himself. He is going to excel in this running scheme. And I'm so happy for him.

Speaker 82082.56s - 2122.1s

So happy, man, gets to go to L.A. So he's right down the road from Harbaugh there. The one negative, as I was like trying to find anything I didn't like about this fit, just to have some differing opinions on here is that L.A. GPE doesn't really have the best fan base. And like Blake Corum PERSON would endear himself to whatever fan base.Like if he went somewhere where they're completely dialed in, like the Steelers ORG or even the Cowboys ORG or commanders. I think he'd become an immediate fan favorite. I'm glad he went to a stable organization where they're not going to just completely wear this guy down right out of the gate either. So you can extend his career. He'll still be a fan favorite for the nine people that are actually dialed in on Rams ORG football.

Speaker 32122.8s - 2124.9s

Yeah, man. It's hard not to love this.

Speaker 62125.36s - 2149.48s

Dude, I was, I mean, it obviously would have made him a super duper star. He would have had all the fans in the world. But I was clenching every time the Cowboys ORG came on the clock because I was like, it makes so much sense. He's going to be the perfect Dallas Cowboy ORG. It's going to be like if Barry Sanders was there in the 90s, like, I hate this.I'm going to be miserable. So every time they came on the clock, I was just sweating it out. I was so thankful I didn't go there.

Speaker 82150.48s - 2159.02s

Oh my God, me too. Jerry Jones PERSON, like generally not awful at drafting despite, you know, the fact that he's like 103 years old. But I think the dementia finally kicked in.

Speaker 32159.32s - 2168.76s

I think it might be time. Like it's kind of like when you're, you invite your uncle over, your grandpa over and he starts drooling when the other kids are around. So, yeah, let's put him in the other room, you invite your uncle over, your grandpa over and he starts drooling when the other kids are around. So yeah, let's put him in the other room. This is getting

Speaker 62168.76s - 2185s

a little, it's getting a little grotesque. A little past his prime now. And having Zeke Elliott be the lead ball carrier in year 10 or whatever it is for Zeke PERSON. So yeah, old strategy. Just so happy Corum PERSON's not there. I'm completely with you, man.

Speaker 82187.26s - 2200.82s

This next one, though, I don't have a bad word to say about it. Roman Wilson to the Pittsburgh Steelers ORG. Maybe the funnest of the picks. Like, I have a lot of respect for that Steelers ORG organization. I don't like the team necessarily, but I got to respect how they do business over there. And he's going to come in in a great draft that they had, by the way.

Speaker 02200.9s - 2209.88s

So I think an ascending team. And I think he'll be Russell Wilson's primary target or Justin Fields PERSON team. And I think he'll, like, be Russell Wilson's primary target or Justin Fields. Like, I think he'll be a target for him this year. You've got,

Speaker 82210.18s - 2223.76s

what is it, George Pickens PERSON there. So you're going to be lined up outside of him. But I'm imagining they're expecting him to come in and contribute right away. And with his work ethic, his leadership, yeah, you're going to love him. Pittsburgh, you got one here. This is Plexico ORG,

Speaker 62223.76s - 2258.8s

Burris, Heinz Ward 2.0. It's exactly what this is and what they're going to love them. Pittsburgh, you got one here. This is Plexico Burris-Hines Ward PERSON 2.0. It's exactly what this is and what they're going to bring outside. Like he brings that physicality, the nastiness. This draft for the Steelers ORG was excellent and signaled return to form that we're getting back to Steelers football. We're going to be physical. We're going to get after your ass.And I love the fit there. Fans are going to love, Roman. Like the press conferences, the violence he blocks with everything he brings to the table. Like the Steelers ORG are adding all the fit there. Fans are going to love, Roman, like the press conferences, the violence he blocks with everything he brings to the table. The Steelers are adding all the pieces around. Now, all they have to do for the next couple years is try to solidify the quarterback position. But with what they're adding, what quarterback wouldn't want to play there soon.

Speaker 82260.14s - 2285.2s

Yeah. And I don't think that we have a lot of faith in Justin Fields PERSON becoming that guy, but you could do worse as a backup. And Russell Wilson PERSON, probably the presumed starter there. So eventually they'll need to figure out who their guy, their franchise guy is moving forward. But yeah, great call, man, just building up around whoever that guy eventually ends up being. So I'm high on their future.I'm high on Roman Wilson PERSON there. There might finally be enough offensive Michigan ORG players that we can do like a little bit of

Speaker 32285.2s - 2290.7s

a skins draft for stats. Finally. Finally. We've been waiting. We've been waiting for me to get there.

Speaker 62290.7s - 2295.8s

After Brady left, the cupboard went bare. It was it was barren on offense, at least for skill positions.

Speaker 82296s - 2330.42s

But now there's some guys out there. So very exciting. Zach Zinter to the Cleveland Browns within the division. Like we said, back to back to back on these picks. That was super exciting. I think this I mean, I don't want to sound like a broken record here, but Cleveland GPE just has a track record of developing guards. They have a good offensive line there. I don't think he'll be asked to come in and start right away, so he'll be a little bit of a developmental guy, really highly respected offensive line coach there. So I think once again, like just another great fit. He'll probably get a boat pick up fishing on Lake Erie LOC. Won't even hate that he's in Cleveland GPE. I think he'll appreciate it. So I'm in.

Speaker 62331.08s - 2350.14s

I think you will too. It's the offensive line room. You look at what they consistently churn out under head coach Kevin Stefanski that found a way to make the playoffs despite starting like six different quarterbacks this season. So like competent coaching, they still got some things to figure out.But I love everything that Zinter PERSON is walking into. Yeah, I'm with you, man.

Speaker 82350.22s - 2398.16s

Congrats to him. And also all the talk about him falling to the fifth, this felt right. Like I was like, man, the lions might steal him here. The lions might steal him. Didn't quite make it around for that. But happy for him.I used to like the Browns until they went and got to Sean Watson. But I'll at least tune in for Zach Zinter. Let's keep it pushing here. Round four, we mentioned Eric All went to the Cincinnati Bengals. Congrats to him. Shortly after that, though, A.J. Barner to the Seattle GPE Seahawks going with Mike McDonald, who he wasn't around for, but I would imagine was on his radar playing for Michigan. So there's some crossover there excited for this Mike McDonald era to begin in Seattle. I think you and I are also pretty high in what AJ Barner could be as like a second tight end in this league. I think he's going to stick. So I think this is a really good safe pick that's going to be around for a while.

Speaker 62398.56s - 2425.52s

Tell me a team wants to run the ball without telling me a team wants to run the ball. That's what this pick is. AJ Barner PERSON is there to demolish people at the end of offensive lines and provide a serviceable tighted number two options. So I love this. Love with the offense is there. And it's kind of funny because you have the sort of Michigan ORG overlap with Olu Olu-A-Timmies there. Now, AJ Barner PERSON's there. Mike Morris PERSON is there. Former Wolverine Zach Charbonnet PERSON's there. So guys kind of intersecting.

Speaker 82425.7s - 2432s

And our boy, is it Monet PERSON still there too? He might be. Monet's just been clinging to roster spots for years.

Speaker 22432.2s - 2435.06s

Love that guy. Shout out to him. Shout out to that guy.

Speaker 82435.3s - 2438.08s

Yeah, it's like all the Wolverine transfers over there in Seattle GPE.

Speaker 22438.32s - 2474.34s

So there'll be another fun team to tune in for. I kind of like, I like Seattle GPE. My dad lives out there. I tune in for Seattle GPE games. They've been a thorn in the side of the lions recently. But yeah, Mike Morris out there too. Great call on that. Um, all right. Let's keep it pushing round five.Pick number 172. Trevor Keegan to the Eagles ORG. Hey, look, don't, uh, don't get it twisted here. I love all these fits. So I love this one too. Like, I don't want to be boring, but this is a great fit, man. Come on. The Eagles ORG offensive line boring, but this is a great fit. Man, come on. The Eagles ORG offensive line, again, like great offensive line coach, consistent organization, a well-run organization. Super excited for Keegan PERSON.

Speaker 62475.04s - 2494.72s

I did a pre-draft thing talking about best fits for like the offensive line. And I said any offensive line wants to go to the Eagles because you want to be coached by Jeff Stoutland PERSON, who's been retained by three different head coaches with the Eagles ORG and is the hands-down best offensive line coach in football. Do not be surprised if Trevor Keegan PERSON is an all-pro in three

Speaker 82494.72s - 2500.68s

years. Oh, you're speaking a language that I want whispered into my ear on the daily. Yeah, man,

Speaker 62500.76s - 2505.62s

I'm absolutely there for that. And if you get him in the fifth round, too, I think that's a steal for Keegan PERSON.

Speaker 82506.58s - 2511.84s

I mean, fifth round feels like it was the basement. Anything below that, you're really, really stealing him.

Speaker 62512.12s - 2513.94s

Similar to where they got Jason Kelsey PERSON.

Speaker 82514.18s - 2515.14s

I think he was six.

Speaker 62516.26s - 2517.06s

Yeah, could be.

Speaker 82517.18s - 2519.96s

I mean, they know what they're doing when they go and get offensive linemen.

Speaker 62519.96s - 2524.02s

So again, just in great position to succeed Keegan and Zinter PERSON.

Speaker 82524.74s - 2552.46s

Then we did not have a Wolverine taken in round six, and I was getting a little nervous. We didn't end up breaking the overall record set by Georgia ORG. We did break our own personal school record. We also had the most drafted from one school in this draft. But I was glad we had this little run here towards the end of round seven of Michael Barrett going to the Panthers, Lidarius Henderson going to the Texans, Jalen Harold to the Titans ORG, and then at the very end, CJ gets drafted to the Chargers ORG.So where do you want to start, sir?

Speaker 62553.5s - 2585.84s

I'll start at the top with Michael Barrett PERSON. I hate Carolina ORG's ownership more than I rationally should. Everything about David Tepper PERSON sounds awful. He sounds like a terrible person. We know he's a terrible owner, so that's besides the point. But getting people like Michael Barrett PERSON in the building is how you turn things around.Whether it's possible with Tepper at the top or not, Michael Barrett PERSON, the winningest player in Michigan ORG history is a plus and is nothing but additive to any locker room, not to mention what he could potentially bring on the field if he can develop a little bit further.

Speaker 82587.08s - 2599.74s

Yeah, man, this is the one fit where it's like, oh, really the Panthers ORG, but it's not like the Michael Barrett fit with the Panthers. It's just not a well-run organization. And David Tepper PERSON, the kind of guy that walks into a restaurant and removes somebody's hat.

Speaker 62599.94s - 2605.66s

Did you see that thing? Oh, did you hear that story? Oh, my God, dude. It was that I could believe that. Yeah, dude. It was that I couldn't believe that.

Speaker 32606.12s - 2606.62s

Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 62606.92s - 2615.94s

I mean, that is grounds to fight. I don't know what kind of elitist thing you're on, but if you walk up to a stranger and just like knock their hat off their head. Oh, yeah, we're fighting.

Speaker 82616.5s - 2622.3s

You have to fight. Like, that's an invitation to fight. Like, oh, guess that's how my Tuesdays go. And I'm fighting this billionaire now.

Speaker 62622.6s - 2643.24s

Yeah, that's a complete slap in the face. Dude, I heard that story. And I was like, this is what Jared PERSON like wakes up and he looks in the mirror in the morning and he's getting amped up for something. He's like, today's the day, Tepper PERSON. Today's the day. Just wait for him to walk in and knock your hat off.Like, at least he presents the opportunity to be punched. Like a lot of people you don't like, you never give you that chance.

Speaker 32643.24s - 2651.44s

So just knowing that, you know, if you're patrolling around Charlie, you never know, Tepper's going to come in and, you know, throw the first shot across the bow.

Speaker 02652.58s - 2665.76s

You're going to rue the day, Tepper. Someone's going to punch you in Carolina. I guarantee it. If not for your, uh, your draft picks and your overall running of the team and for your just outlandish behavior. But I do love the Michael Barrett PERSON pick for them. Wish it was with a different team.

Speaker 82665.82s - 2672.84s

The all-time winning his Michigan ORG player, beloved. Hang on, I might have to drop the sound bite. Oh, you know.

Speaker 92672.94s - 2685.56s

Hey, man. You see what we at, man? All I got to say is, be careful who you make the villain, man. Be careful who you make the villain, man. Feel great to be a villain. Ladarius Henderson to the Texans ORG.

Speaker 82686.28s - 2707.16s

Let's talk about this a little bit here. This was an interesting one. I was kind of hoping Mikey ended up at the Texans ORG. I was eye in the draft and I was like, ooh, I really like this. Mikey to the Texans ORG would be fun.But La Darius Henderson PERSON, I mean, I'm glad he got drafted. I would imagine kind of practice squad is his role early on. But yeah, good for Lederius PERSON here.

Speaker 62707.82s - 2728.7s

Yeah, it's fun. He's the Texas GPE native originally. So he kind of gets to go back to his home state. So excited for that part of it. But yeah, you can find a roster spot and compete for a young and exciting team, which is something we haven't said about the Texans ORG in a long time, similar to the commanders earlier. It's like the Texans ORG are on the rise and they're kind of likable. So I like the fact that Laderius PERSON is going there. Yeah, I'm with you,

Speaker 82728.7s - 2769.46s

man, wish Barrett was going there too. But they're going to be one that I have to tune in a little bit more with the rise of Nico Collins. Now Laderius is there. Further on down in the seventh, four Michigan Wolverines take it in the seventh. Pretty impressive. Jalen Harrell goes to the Titans ORG. I like it. Again, when you're getting guys this late, you're not really expecting a ton of production. You can go back and I went back and looked at all the drafts from like 2018 and I was just looking at fifth, six, seventh rounds to seelike how many of these guys end up mattering. Generally, you're looking at a lot of depth pieces this laid into the draft. So Harold PERSON does have the athleticism that he might be able to work his way onto the field, but I would imagine more so just a depth piece for Tennessee ORG.

Speaker 62770.04s - 2784.92s

With this one and the next one, I think it's just tremendous value here. Like to get Harold PERSON this late and with what is upside and what we've seen, the way he could run games and rush the passer and still hold up in the run despite being a little bit undersized, I think it's tremendous value for the Titans ORG. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 82785s - 2822.08s

And same thing with CJ PERSON, who had a little bit more gas in the tank than we thought when we saw his measurables and some of the speeds that he ran at. So this could be one where because he's going to the Chargers reunited with Jim Harbaugh PERSON as well, and they desperately need wideouts. Like he's going to get every opportunity to crack this depth chart. Like he has a real opportunity there. And I wouldn't be surprised if he has a few catches this season. I don't think he's going to blow up and have 500, 600,000 yards, anything like that. But I could see him like sneaking his way onto the field and becoming a good depth piece for them. Yeah, and he's physical in the run game.

Speaker 62822.08s - 2851.28s

And that's really what they want to get out of their wide receivers. That can kind of do a little bit of both. And, you know, the offense is slowly coming in with a lot of pieces that I like. Like you have, you know, Quentin Johnson, you and I weren't super big on him, but by no means means he's a bust after one year. Josh Palmer's a good receiver. I like the Ladd-McConkey pick earlier. Just kind of putting things here and there. So again, excited about it and glad CJ PERSON gets the opportunity with his head coach again. Yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 82851.36s - 2863.62s

There were some rumors swirling around right before the draft started that there was talks about Justin Herbert being traded. And I mean, I was going absolutely nuts. I mean, obviously that would be for J.J. McCarthy PERSON then.

Speaker 62863.76s - 2893s

But this is the right way to do it. Build out around Justin Herbert, as much as we love JJ, and that would have been a fun story. This is, this is the way to do it. It would have been a waste of a pick. Like, you have a guy. Like, why did another guy when you can add a piece around this guy? Like, people really thought hardball was just going to trade, come in there and trade Justin Herbert. Like, one of the most easygoing, great personality quarterback kind of guys you could ever hope for in this offense. It's about to make his life super easy. Like, yeah, I'm going to trade him. Start him with a rookie. Let's get to it.What are we doing here?

Speaker 82893.62s - 2900.8s

I never saw that happening either. I mean, granted, you'd get a haul for Justin Herbert. You're probably getting a couple ones and a player in return on that.

Speaker 32900.88s - 2906.96s

Oh, yeah. You're hoping JJ becomes Justin Herbert. Exactly. So let's not,

Speaker 82906.96s - 2932.6s

let's not reinvent the wheel here. Undrafted free agents, there were several, I think pretty much everybody got a shot. Drake Nugent goes to the 49ers, James Turner to the Lions ORG, where we needed to pick up a kicker. That's fantastic. Braden McGregor to the Jets, Barnhart to the Chargers ORG again, Trent A. Jones to the Packers, and Josh Wallace to the Rams ORG. Any of these guys that you want to start with? Surprised one of these guys or multiple of these guys weren't picked up in the draft?

Speaker 62933.52s - 2971.04s

Yeah, I was surprised that Josh Wallace, Drake Nuget PERSON, especially were not picked up in the draft. Really surprised by that. I love that a bunch of players are going to L.A. Whether it be the Chargers or the Rams ORG, that's fun. But of these guys I'm most excited about, I think could stick. I lean Nugent PERSON because of the experience, the pedigree, and he's going to the Kyle Shanahan School of Offense ORG. And there's going to be an open invitation for him to succeed there. He gets to go back to the Bay Area where he started his collegiate career at Stanford ORG. So that's also fun for him. He's familiar with it. So really excited where he started his collegiate career at Stanford ORG. So that's also fun for him. He's familiar with it. So really excited what he could do there if given the opportunity.Yeah, that's the one.

Speaker 82971.16s - 2975.16s

Mel Kiper had him in his top 150 prospects, which is insane.

Speaker 32975.4s - 2976.24s

So did Daniel Jeremiah PERSON.

Speaker 82977.08s - 2978.92s

Yeah, Daniel PERSON and that guy knows ball.

Speaker 32979.22s - 3006.88s

So there is something here. That is incredible to be able to get him as an undrafted free agent. That seems like the most likely to stick. Maybe, I wouldn't imagine you see much of them this year. But just keep an eye out down the road. Like you might see Drake Nugent PERSON floating around there.I was also agree with you about Josh Wallace PERSON. I thought someone would take him particularly because he played at UMass ORG and then transferred over, learned a new system, not like crazy different system than what Don Brown PERSON was running there, but it's different.

Speaker 63007.54s - 3008.5s

Yeah, they ran zones.

Speaker 83009.56s - 3026.96s

Yeah, exactly. So he's having to pick up a new system. And the thing about Josh Wallace is he got better as the season went along. So if I were a GM, I'd be like, hey, is this guy done improving? Like, is there something else we can get out of this guy? And that might be the case with Josh Wallace PERSON.I don't know that we've seen his best football yet.

Speaker 63027.68s - 3031.52s

No, not to mention he has the length, the aggression, the tackling, everything else you

Speaker 83031.52s - 3032.78s

want in a cornerback.

Speaker 63032.88s - 3061.62s

And I think it's just overlooked. You brought up such a great point. How seamless of a fit when he came in there, picked up everything new, and flourished and played so well in those two in the playoff games last year. Like he's all over the tape against Alabama and against Washington ORG, going against like elite receivers that were drafted ahead of him, that he was shutting down. So it's very funny how it works out sometimes, but I like he's going to the Rams ORG though. Yeah, yep, I'm with you.

Speaker 83061.66s - 3065.12s

A lot of guys in L.A. We might have to get out to L.A. Go see the boys one of these times.

Speaker 63065.32s - 3072.54s

I know. We'll get like six Wolverines NORP. We'll boost attendance by like 60% with just us going. Yeah.

Speaker 83074.08s - 3086.78s

Seriously, man. All right. Anything else want to get into some superlatives here? Let's get into superlatives. All right. So let's talk favorite fits here.First question, who will endear themselves to their fan base the fastest?

Speaker 63089s - 3132.54s

There's very few wrong answers here. But I think like it comes down to four guys at the top. You could go Mikey, J.J. Blake, Roman. I really think because of the position, it's going to be J.J. McCarthy PERSON. He's so infectious. Like you go back to the tweet during the 2020 season, like telling the fans to calm down, and then him coming on to the field and showing how exciting he is. I mean, you can see it and you've heard Gus Johnson PERSON called on the broadcast, the Fran Tarkington to his game, and now that he's playing for Minnesota ORG, it's so one-to-one. I think it's going to be exciting and fun. Of course, there'll be growing pains. But I think Minnesota fans are going to fall in love with him on first or secondsnap of the season.

Speaker 83133.3s - 3140.88s

Yeah, I have a couple Vikings ORG fans in my life. I texted one of them after the pick was official. And I was like, you're just going to love this guy. Like, that's the facts of the matter.

Speaker 63141.24s - 3144.98s

I will actually go a little different here because my question was the fastest.

Speaker 33145.58s - 3149.96s

He might sit behind Sam Darnold PERSON might be growing pains. So there might be like a little bit.

Speaker 63150.02s - 3172.4s

But by year two, I would imagine he's a favorite. I'll go Roman Wilson PERSON here. I think that just his work ethic, they could use another receiver in there. I think he could come in and be wide receiver number. I mean, he couldn't even work his way up to wide receiver number two. But let's say wide receiver number three in year one. And I think they'll just love the work ethic, love the professionalism, love the toughness, love the fact that he blocks. And that fan base is pretty

Speaker 03172.4s - 3177.14s

rabbit. Like you see Steelers fans all over the place. So I'll go with Roman there. But no wrong

Speaker 33177.14s - 3184.16s

answers, I think for those top picks. If LA had fans, I'd say Blake Corum PERSON, I just, I don't think

Speaker 03184.16s - 3185.44s

they really have them.

Speaker 63186.36s - 3186.44s

That's the thing.

Speaker 83188.72s - 3220.3s

And like with Mikey PERSON and the commanders, it's like you play nickel. Like that's the only thing to hold him back. Like he could flash kind of like the Mike Hilton columns are easy in Cincinnati GPE. But it's like just because of the position may not be as flashy as others. But no, man, I think Romans immediately wide receiver too, especially after the fact that they traded Deontay Johnson to the Panthers ORG. That's right. So like step right in there with the again, the Heinzward PERSON kind of physicality. He's going to lay one blindside block and fans are just going to like sell their soul for Roman Wilson PERSON jerseys. Oh, absolutely. Which also very clean the Wilson in the Steelers ORG jersey, which are some of the queen or jerseys out there.

Speaker 63221.28s - 3221.94s

It's a great looking fit.

Speaker 03222.46s - 3230.94s

All right. Who has the fastest track to playing time right out of the gate? I think it's Junior Colson PERSON. I kind of feel that way with a bull. I think he's starting

Speaker 63230.94s - 3237.36s

right now, actually. Check the time. I mean, I just feel like he is just a thoroughbred linebacker

Speaker 83237.36s - 3262.82s

for the NFL. Yeah, I wanted to get different here, but Junior Colson PERSON's probably going to be the leading tackler this season. He very well could be the leading tackler for the Chargers ORG. That feels right. J.J. McCarthy, obviously the other one there, but he could sit for a year behind Sam Darnold PERSON, whereas Junior Colson PERSON's not sitting. That guy, they're going to run that dude rabbit against everyone. So that's the one. Overall, best situation.

Speaker 63265.64s - 3306.02s

It's, man, it's hard to pick anybody. I think we talked about it, like at least all the players that were drafted. I think we like all of their situations, really, at least outside of round seven. Like, JJ PERSON's is great. Romans is great. Blakes PERSON is great.Juniors ORG is great. Senior still is great. You say Chris Jenkins PERSON will see. So maybe his is like a step below. But honestly, man, take your bet. Trevor Keegan's is great because he goes to Jeff Stoutland University ORG now. Like this is his postgraduate work to becoming it all pro. So I don't think there is a miss in here unless you just want to say like Michael Barrett to the Panthers ORG is the bad one.But I think picking the exception proves the rule in this case that all of them were pretty much good situations.

Speaker 83306.92s - 3316.08s

Yeah, absolutely, man. I had for the next piece, tough beats, but really, like you said, the only tough beat is Michael Barrett going to the Panthers ORG. And even there, like he's a culture guy.

Speaker 23316.18s - 3331.72s

So he could be a part of at least being somebody to be in these guys' ears, a constant professional. So I would agree. There's not really any tough beats. Drake Nugent PERSON not getting drafted. Josh Wallace PERSON, not getting drafted. But then, you know, you can kind of pick your spot and where you end up.

Speaker 03331.72s - 3347s

And they both ended up in good spot. So I really don't think there are any tough beats. Any other superlatives you want to talk about before we kind of look at what the Chargers lions did and then maybe a little talk about just overall favorite drafts? what the Chargers, Lions ORG did, and then maybe a little talk about just overall favorite drafts.

Speaker 63351.76s - 3352.48s

Over under three Wolverines drafted in the first round next year.

Speaker 83355.14s - 3373.5s

That's the number, because it's three or four. Graham and Will Johnson PERSON are locks. I would imagine Loveland as tight end number one. He's just a shade behind Bowers as a prospect, but I think he's a better prospect than who went in the first round the year before nobody, right? Because it was Michael Mayer.

Speaker 63373.94s - 3376.48s

No, I think Kincaid went in the first round.

Speaker 83377.16s - 3405.26s

Kingade PERSON. So he's a better prospect than Kincaid PERSON. So I'm going to say three. I don't think we would get to four, but for Kenneth Grant PERSON needs to have a big year because that's the other name, I think. If Kenneth Grant has a big year, but man, both of your defensive tackles going in round one, we better win a lot of freaking games because that that is nasty. I'll go three right now. Where are you at? I'm this. I'll go one. I'll go four. I'll go Kenneth Grant gets in there.

Speaker 63405.56s - 3409.46s

And then you have obviously the top defensive tackle prospect, top tight end prospect,

Speaker 83409.62s - 3414.3s

top corner prospect. I'm telling you right now, if Donovan Edwards PERSON goes for like 1,700 yards this

Speaker 63414.3s - 3419.48s

year, talk about it. He's going to go in there as a receiving option as well. He could be

Speaker 83419.48s - 3424.24s

sneaking in there to do a lot of things, the NFL ORG, especially at his size and frame. And not to

Speaker 63424.24s - 3426.96s

mention, like, we'll see what Barham PERSON does at linebacker.

Speaker 83426.96s - 3431.2s

I've heard some very high praise for him coming around places.

Speaker 63431.56s - 3468.02s

Sharon Moore was talking about on the Jansen pod that every time they had to play Maryland ORG, he was just like, oh, this guy, like, he just knew he was an issue already. And just hearing that and I mean, another player not to count out in this is he's not my favorite, but he has the measurables and he's a dominant season away at one of the best universities. That is Miles Hinton. Like you're talking that size and what he could bring to the table. Like, I mean, one dominant season like that from left tackle at Michigan ORG, you can just rock itupboard. So I think three is the number, but, you know, I'm me. So I'm bullish on the upside. I love it.

Speaker 83468.1s - 3472.56s

Great call on Miles PERSON hitting because we saw just the run on tackles in this last draft,

Speaker 03472.56s - 3502.22s

like an extremely important position. So you're completely right in that one season could just rocket you up a draft board. Yeah, man. For all the guys that we put into this draft, 13 into this draft, I think people were still, like, at least on Twitter, not a real place, kind of like disparaging this Michigan class because there wasn't the guys in the first round. We'll just wait till next year.Michigan is going to have like 20% of the first round draft picks. And oh, yeah, we're also the defending national champions who might get better on defense. So enjoy your laughs now.

Speaker 83502.82s - 3504.58s

The flex is it what you think it is.

Speaker 63504.64s - 3506.78s

Yeah, you had more first rounders. And guess what?

Speaker 03506.78s - 3511.88s

You lost? Like, Alabama had all those prospects. They lost. Washington ORG had so many

Speaker 83511.88s - 3517.7s

offensive talents. They lost by three touchdowns. Like, I care. Like, that's how good the team was.

Speaker 33517.7s - 3522.38s

So again, if you want to poop, poo on that, you know, go ahead. But again, I encourage everyone to go

Speaker 83522.38s - 3526s

outside and just remember 15 and 0.

Speaker 63531.42s - 3531.58s

15 and oh, and if you forget, just go take a look at Jim Harbaugh's bicep because it's there.

Speaker 83532.44s - 3533.96s

You'll be reminded.

Speaker 63536.78s - 3536.86s

Let's talk a little chargers and lions here.

Speaker 83540.56s - 3561.56s

The lions, I mean, at this point, you just assume what they're doing is the right thing. I'm like, whatever pick they make, I'm like, yep, that's probably the right pick. And I loved what they did, attacking the cornerback position aggressively in this, taking Terry and Arnold, moving up for Terry and Arnold in round one. And then also taking one of my guys, Ennis Rake Straw from Missouri in round two. Arnold PERSON probably can, I would imagine, start right away.

Speaker 03561.66s - 3570.48s

He's going to play right away. I don't know if he'll be the starter. They also address this position in the offseason and free agency, bringing in Carlton Davis,

Speaker 83570.84s - 3583.26s

bringing in Americh Robertson PERSON, I think is the other guy. So this position went from a really just not strong position to the best secondary since Darius Slay PERSON was there. This is a loaded, loaded cornerback

Speaker 63583.26s - 3640.36s

room. Now you can move Brian Branch PERSON back to his more natural position of safety. I love the doubling up. I was still more of a cool-ed guy. I was kind of on an island by myself. He'd faded after his junior year. But it's not the disparaged Terry and Arnold PERSON. He was just one of those guys that, like, when he got to Bama ORG, he never really reachedhis ceiling until last year. But Sabin credited him with that he stuck it out and battled and battled and earned his way and finally reached his ceiling. Also, he's electric on the mic. He was hilarious at the draft. So that was fun to see.And I think he immediately steps in, slots into one of those cornerback roles. I'm really bullish on what he can do. I love the doubling down similar to the Eagles going with Quinnion Mitchell PERSON and Cooper DeGine, getting rake strong. You're a guy. This was a good Lions Jared draft because they also came back later and got Mackay Wingo PERSON,your defensive tackle from LSU ORG who you had stood for. You went to battle for him for so long. So I was really happy for you in this one at the end of the day. Thanks, man.

Speaker 83640.4s - 3646.2s

Yeah, I was hoping that we were able to get Dijin who fell to the eagles in the second round and i was i had

Speaker 63646.2s - 3748.24s

de jean rated highish rake straw um but man enish rake straw is like jordan lewis with like take away a little of the ball skills but maybe ratchet up the tackling intensity slightly like they similar frames they they're sticky in coverage but man rake straw plays with a physicality that i really like makes sense for this lion's defense uh again yeah mackay Wingo in the sixth round, that's great value. Mason Smith PERSON, I think is better, but I just really think that these guys were underutilized and didn't stand out as much as they could with better coaching. So that's great value. They took a human beingnamed Giovanni Manu from the British Columbia from BC, who's like six, eight, three hundred and fifty pounds, just an absolute moose. And he's a developmental prospect, but that's great. That's where we're at with the lions now that we can afford to take developmental prospects, because this roster just has no real flaws, which is a great place to be. Reminds me when the Eagles drafted Jordan Milata in the saying it was the seventh round several years ago.Now he's one of the top paid tackles in football and developed into this. I love the swing there. It's a great place to do it. And also in the fourth round, they took my guy, Vakai from Utah GPE, who's played safety and running back, just a natural football player through and through. So I love just keep, I mean, this guy is the epitome of Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell PERSON, like just a football player. So I love getting people like that in the building coming from the Kyle Whittingham School of Utah ORG football.Like you love getting guys like that. They always feel pro ready, especially with the physicality. And then just to cap it all off, lions doubled back down on offensive line with Christian Mahogany out of BC in round six. How can you not ride for an offensive one with a last name mahogany? Come on now.

Speaker 83748.94s - 3754.7s

Who also missed zero starts and gave up like one quarterback pressure in his entire career.

Speaker 33754.94s - 3794.74s

I'm like, okay, how is this guy falling to the seventh round? So I was excited by that. Yeah, your guy Vaki, who I'm hearing some Debo Samuel PERSON whispers about. Like that's how they're trying to use him as an offensive weapon. So that's super fun. Yeah, like this is a fun draft. It certainly hits some needs, especially at the top of those cornerbacks. But some great developmental prospects that you take flyers on. And in Brad Holmes PERSON, we trust. So I just assume everything he does is right. But we'll see how it plays out. Obviously, all the guys that give draft grades, which is a dumb, dumb exercise, giving it B minuses, C pluses. And I'm just like, have you learned nothing? The man knows more about football than we do.

Speaker 63795.5s - 3807.84s

Draft grades are so dumb. You and I were talking before we recorded, like you look at last year, the Lions lost draft day, but they won the season. So sometimes it's great to get an early F when you can get the A in the long run.Exactly.

Speaker 83808.08s - 3830.08s

And something I'll be keeping my eye on is who has the better cornerback pairing since the Eagles did the same thing going Mitchell and Dijian PERSON. Lions go Arnold, Rake Straw PERSON. So there's going to be a winner and a loser out of that. Someone's going to win that. And I'm fascinated to see who it was. Now, lions probably were never in the mix for Quinnion Mitchell, because the Eagles ORG got him pretty early, right?I mean, he was like 13th pick or something.

Speaker 63830.2s - 3833.14s

No, it was close because the defensive player didn't go to 15.

Speaker 83833.34s - 3834.5s

Yeah, first 14. You're right.

Speaker 63834.92s - 3837.56s

Yeah, it was fairly close. Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 83837.6s - 3841.44s

I've got it right here. He was taken 22nd.

Speaker 63841.7s - 3844.68s

So, I mean, and the Lions moved up to 24th.

Speaker 03844.8s - 3864.74s

So, yeah, they potentially could have gotten Quignon Mitchell PERSON. I don't know what the extra two spots, what that would have cost. I think they had to give up their third rounder that they got from the Vikings ORG, Hawkinson trade in order to get up and get Mitchell PERSON. So essentially, Hawkinson turned into Terriott PERSON, so happy with that.Anything else in the Lions ORG?

Speaker 63865.98s - 3871.26s

Push it to the Chargers here. No, another great draft again. Who are we to criticize Brad Holmes after last season?

Speaker 83872.28s - 3924.7s

Exactly, man. So the Chargers, one of my better calls called this on February 18th, basically right after Harbaugh took the job and I was trying to imagine who they'd take at number five. I called Joe Alt PERSON. I've got the tweet to prove it. Other than that, I was a little wrong on some of these, but Joe Alt goes number five. They move up in round two to get Ladd McConkey PERSON,just elite name, elite pass catcher. Not elite height, but other than that, just elite at everything he does. And then obviously in round three getting junior Colson PERSON. So that's a great start. We're pepper in the board. We're going offense. We're going defense. We're building an identity. For a team that has a lot of holes on it, that roster is just not quite as complete as the Detroit GPE one. So I like the way that they attack this draft. I like some of the places that they addressed and not going neighbors early and getting Joe Alt PERSON is just such a hardball move.

Speaker 63925.24s - 4000.68s

You have book-in tackles now. Roshan Slater and Joe All PERSON. In a year, it could be the best tackle duo in football. Like, that's how good Joe Alth PERSON is. That's how good Rishon Slater PERSON's been. And now you have a pair of me of Corey Lensley at Center FAC. So you're all of a sudden, that offensive line is looking really good. And I never understood the J.C. Lathoms's or the other ones to the Chargers ORG if they were going to stay put at five, because why not draft the best person at the position? It's like, it was pretty unanimous that it was Joe Alt PERSON. It's like, well, the other guys are more run graders. What does that mean? Give me the best guy at a position I need. How about that? And Joe Alt PERSON feels as can't miss as they can. The Ladd-McConkey PERSON pick, I loved. A lot of people had him as a second, or is that first rounder. He ran four-three at the combine. So the old white receiver adage of better, more quick than fast, does not apply toLadd-McConkey PERSON at all, like an elite pass catcher. So I love what he's going to do and be able to get open and get zones and really make life easy for Justin Herbert and a great complimentary receiver. So no matter what they do this year with Quentin Johnson and Josh Palmer, who they add next season, I think Ladd McConkey PERSON fits in the mold. And I've already wax poetic enough about Junior Colson PERSON.Just love that pick. Absolutely.

Speaker 84000.94s - 4014.74s

Ladd McConkey PERSON, who sounds like a, like 4.3, goodness gracious. So I think he'll immediately come in. And is he wide receiver one on this Chargers ORG team out of the gate?

Speaker 64015.3s - 4041.18s

It could be. I mean, depending on where Quentin Johnson PERSON is. I mean, you and I weren't that big on him. But, I mean, the one thing it could do is like if Quentin Johnson PERSON is, is that deep threat, they hope he can be, like the combination of the over the top and the underneath and what they can do and the way McConkey PERSON likesto mix it up in the middle of the field like it could be an exciting pairing but remains to be seen about Quentin Johnson so I don't think wide receiver one is off the table it's it's very much

Speaker 84041.18s - 4083.44s

on the table and I'm excited to see how they continue to build this Chargers ORG team out. As I mentioned, I think this is more of a two-year rebuild, not as strong of a wide receiver class next year. But this was like an all-timer wide receiver class. So they had to go get one. I think McCongy PERSON's a good fit. In round four, they took Justin Igobi from Alabama.Harbaugh got a close-up look at him in the Rose Bowl EVENT. So I'm going to trust that he liked what he saw there, even though Blake Corum PERSON had no problems with him. And then in the fifth, they get Tarheeb still from Maryland, a guy that we also have seen. I like that pretty much like everybody on here other than the, the Troy guys, like guys that Harbaal PERSON would have seen in person. Like a lot of these guys are dudes Harbaugh's seen coached against for.

Speaker 64084.56s - 4127.2s

Really understands the tape and like game planning against and seeing them with their strengths and weaknesses are at a pretty nuanced level. I like to attacking the defense there. But staying in round five, they doubled up on corners and went with Cam Hart PERSON, a pick. I absolutely loved a team captain and a leader on that defense.Again, teammates with Joe Walt PERSON. So you and I like say he has a friend at least. He's going to the NFL ORG with, which is fun to see. But I love getting leaders like that in the back half of these rounds. Like it could be a good special teams or could be just a depth provider in the secondary. But getting a team captain, single way Michigan ORG has handled a transfer portal and adding team captains and team leaders. I think there's value to that even in the NFL ORG, especially when you can get them in the middle rounds. Yeah.

Speaker 84127.34s - 4152.3s

And what I was doing that exercise, looking back at like 2018, 19, 20, 21, and looking at fifth, sixth, seventh rounds. I like the positions that they took in sixth and seventh. Like if you're going to get a hit, your most likely position group to get a hit on is going to be running back, wide receiver, and at times cornerback. So they went in the sixth round running back Kamani Vidal PERSON, who was on your fantasy team and did some work for you this year.

Speaker 34152.38s - 4153.02s

Go on fantasy.

Speaker 84154.22s - 4192.66s

They got Brendan Rice, who I dropped from my fantasy team, Jerry Rice's son from USC ORG. Not as high on him, but I mean, come on, it's Jerry Rice's PERSON son. Let's take a flyer. And then they double up and get Cornelius Johnson towards the end of the seventh. So like the positions that they attack there, you know, it's just a total roster rebuild here. But you can kind of see what Harbaugh is going for.Tough guys, high character guys, a couple captains on there. Leaders of men, you know, the Colson and Cornelius Johnson PERSON stuff there. And then also getting undrafted free agent Carson Barnhart PERSON as well to get into the mix on the offensive line. So love what Harbon Company ORG did.

Speaker 64193.1s - 4230.58s

I love this draft top to bottom for everything they're trying to fill in, build it the right way through the trenches or adding key pieces. Keep it key piece here, key piece there. And just don't be surprised if they win more games than expected due to style of play with the physicality coming into that division. And just the way Harbaugh is just a proven winner everywhere from San Diego to the Stanford to 49ers ORG, to Michigan ORG.I don't know why I'm struggling to name these teams. And now to the Chargers ORG. It's just, this is all he does. And he does it his way. He's not going to change or conform. And Justin Herbert's PERSON life is going to be so easy and

Speaker 84230.58s - 4256.42s

nice. Yeah, absolutely. Man, his life got a lot easier. The life of the defending champions, Kansas City Chiefs ORG just got a lot harder. He's going to be a thorn in their side. I mean, similar to like year, I forget if it was year one at Stanford ORG, where they upset USC ORG and why they considered one of the largest upsets ever. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if they get one against Kansas City this year and just really raise some eyebrows about what they could be next year.

Speaker 64257.42s - 4309.34s

No, I mean, they were like a bad team last year with Brandon Staley PERSON at the helm. And they won five games. So what's the Harbaugh boost there with this draft class? It's like, does he double it? It wouldn't surprise me. He went from six wins to 13 and year one with the 49ers ORG,and they had the Seahawks ORG in their division, the Legion of Boom and Peak Russell Wilson PERSON, everything going on. So what can he do now? I'm so excited to see it, the style of play I think is perfect for this evolution of the NFL ORG because so many teams have gone with the hybrid safety linebackers. So they're a little smaller in the box to protect against the pass. So how are you going to stop the charters when they pound the ball down your throat? And then they're like, oh, yeah, we still have Justin Herbert to drop back and sling it. It's going to be such a conundrum. And I will not be surprised if this thing is turned around faster than expected. I love it, man. I'm with you on that one. And it's just from like an

Speaker 84309.34s - 4335.76s

overall viewership perspective, I don't have the numbers here, but just from what I remember, I think you have to go back to like 1993 or 97 maybe after the national championship team, where there were this many Wolverine ORGs playing in the NFL at the same time. Like you can't turn on an NFL game without seeing a Wolverine now. It's fantastic. It makes it so much more enjoyable for guys like you and I who just very clearly college fans first and then the NFL ORG's.

Speaker 04336.1s - 4345.1s

It might not even be our second favorite of all the other sports. We like it a lot, certainly. But this makes it so much more enjoyable for me at least. I won't speak for you on that.

Speaker 64345.62s - 4401.46s

Oh, 100% it does, man. Same thing with the NHL ORG. You're seeing players all over the place. It would be Maddie Baneers, Zach Hyman, Dylan Larkin PERSON. You're seeing Wolverines NORP just littered all over the professional levels. And I think you're spot on with that. You have to look back a long time to see that in the NFL because you remember just the boost it got with Harbaunt, Michigan ORG. Because at the end of the hokeyers, it's like, well, we might get a player drafted, maybe a couple here. There's a handful. And now it's just like if Michigan's not having, you know, five players, seven or eight, you know, drafted every year, it's like it feels like a bad year.So I feel like this is just like the continuation of it. I don't think it's going to slow down anytime soon. And we talk about like already there's like these hubs forming in like L.A., Cincinnati, Seattle, Detroit GPE. Like there's Michigan ORG players all over the place. So no matter what game you tune on, you can at least have, you know, some interest to a very small degree. Absolutely, man.

Speaker 84401.52s - 4407.2s

Well said there. And yeah, I think that's pretty much all that I wanted to cover. You got any final thoughts on this? No, man. Well said there. And yeah, I think that's pretty much all that I wanted to cover. You got any final thoughts on this?

Speaker 64408.32s - 4408.78s

No, man.

Speaker 84409.06s - 4412.76s

It definitely feels like the closing of the chapter now.

Speaker 64412.88s - 4434.92s

And now we move forward to Team 145 and what they can be and everything else. And we'll get into the quarterback discussion, the corners, the transfers, the movers, the shakers, and everything else. So although it's like it's a chapter we don't want to close because you love it so much, it's like, you know, just you've been in those books. It's like I don't want it to finish. I'm not done yet.But it's time to put the end to it, man, and look ahead. But the future is bright.

Speaker 84435.72s - 4465.46s

I'm with you, brother. But hey, look, I mean, I'm not opposed to every now and again going back and dusting off an old favorite and revisiting a national championship season, despite the fact that, yes, it is time to keep it push. And we'll take a week off next week. And when we are back, it'll be all our offseason content, man. This is where we shine. This is what we do. We'll have some fun stuff for you. A lot of superlatives, drafts, rankings. We'll really dive into this roster and where we're missing some bodies. How long is this transfer portal window open for?

Speaker 04465.58s - 4466.94s

I think we got a couple more weeks.

Speaker 64466.94s - 4468.2s

It closes today, the day of recording.

Speaker 84468.34s - 4472.6s

Oh, literally today, not a couple more weeks, a couple more minutes.

Speaker 64473.6s - 4483.84s

Yes, it closes soon so they have to have their names. And some will trickle through late because of the processing, but the paperwork has to be filed by April 30th. Well, there you go.

Speaker 84483.9s - 4531.38s

So this roster pretty well set. I mean, we could get an yabi oki, you know, like two days before we, we kick off where we get somebody that joins the team. But it's time to start looking at this roster and looking forward, man. And I'm looking forward to that.
