Speaker 683.02s - 128.62s

Sharp Money presented by Draft Kings as we welcome you in on a Thursday, May 9, 2024. Ken is back. Our engineer, Ken, PERSON welcome back. And I just want to say this as we start the program. Sharp Money presented by Zinn ORG. I'll go upper tank like Cecil Fielder on his 50th bomb at Tiger Stadium in a second. You understand what I'm saying? Dustin Swedelson live from the D downtown Los Vegas GPE. But I want Ken to hide his son, Ken Jr. PERSON, because a trigger warning to start the program. All right? And I understand this is going to bother a lot of you,but I've got to go here to start. And then we'll set up the gambling day. Now, when I start by saying what I'm about to say, I need you to think about how old is the NBA ORG, big guy? Dustin Swietelson, how old do you think the NBA ORG is?

Speaker 5128.8s - 132.26s

It's got to be at least like 80 years old, 75 years old?

Speaker 6132.26s - 133.36s

Yeah, 77 years old.

Speaker 5133.44s - 210.22s

So it's essentially brand new. I mean, the grand scheme of things that hasn't been around for that long. So what I'm about to tell you, and there are plenty of people listening and watching sharp money presented by Zinn, Draft Kings Network, V-Sin. There are plenty of people watching and listening that are older than the NBA ORG. And we all know somebody in our lives, hopefully, older than the NBA ORG. So what I'm about to tell you is what's happening right now with the New York Knicks ORG andJalen Brunson PERSON is starting to become an all-time story for the league. And I mean that. When I say all-time story, no, I mean, this is becoming a seminal story in the history of the association. And the synergy or the symmetry is perfection. Because when Brunson got hurt yesterday, did you know it was exactly 54 years to the day when Willis Reed and 70 came out game 7 for the Knicks ORG against the Lakers and helped the Knicks win a championship. Shout to Red Holtzman. Kids look it up. Also look up Cecilfielder PERSON. The bottom line is this. 54 years ago, 77, the league was brand new with Willis Reed PERSON. We're now 77 years later and Jalen Brunson PERSON is starting to pull something together here that you're going to be talking about 77 years from now. Quick, two years ago, who won a championship?

Speaker 6210.6s - 651.02s

You don't remember. You're starting to understand what I'm telling you. We're only in the second round, and he's creating what is going to become an all-time story. And that's Jalen Brunson PERSON. And that's also the Knicks, because today's theme here on Sharp Money, presented by Zinn ORG, is attrition. And what is attrition? Essentially, you just do something for a long period of time, sustained effort, apply pressure, and gradually you're going to see reducing returns, right? That's attrition. So the longer a series go, you expect those that aren't as deep,or you expect those that are injured to start backing up. But it hasn't happened yet for the Knicks ORG. And I don't expect it to happen. Even with O.G. Ananobee, who was injured much of the year, Jalen Brunson PERSON continued to do his thing. Julius Randall PERSON's gone. Bogdanovich PERSON is gone.O.G. Anobi, who was the best Nick on the court for two and a half quarters, left the game yesterday. Hamstring. Who knows if he's coming back? That's something that generally barks. Attrition. Jalen Brunson, who played 24 minutes in the second half after leaving with nine minutes to play with some sort of injury in the second quarter. Oh, by the way, when he left, the Knicks were up seven. When Brunson, when the Pacers went to halftime, they were up 10. What does that mean?He means everything to the Knicks ORG. It's an all-time story, attrition. So Brunson comes back out in the second half, and he said, I'll take it from here. 24 minutes, 24 points, injured, goes on, continuously shows us every single night that he's not just a superstar. He's probably a top six player in the league right now. And they just had the MVP votes yesterday and Yokic PERSON deservedly won.But if you're telling me right now, a dude that leaves a playoff game up seven, nine minutes later, you're down 10, he comes back, plays all injured, 24 minutes in the second half, drops 24 points, and you win 13, 121. After, for four straight games, he had dropped 40 plus points, carrying a team knowing that the Pacers know and the 76ers ORG know that he's the only scoring option, he's the only one that can create. His usage is as high as anybody it's ever been in the league, and he scored or assisted on the second most points over a five-game period in the league, and he scored or assisted on the second most points over a five-game period in the history, 77 years of the league. So we can have conversations about, you know, MJ, LeBron, who's your top 10? I'm just going to tell you this right now. There aren't any more discussions after this postseason wraps.Like, Jalen Brunson PERSON is an all-timer. He is a superstar. No, no, no. We don't need to see it for longer. This has been sustained. And sustainment goes beyond the postseason. This goes back to what we saw when Brunson and OG went down during the regular season, and he continued to carry a dude name Isaiah Hartenstein PERSON. He literally has a teammate named Precious PERSON. Shorty's an actress. Dante DiVincenzowas with the Golden State Warriors and they were like, nah fam, and their third best player right now, Caminga PERSON? But then you start wondering, who else do we have? And DiVincenzo PERSON is a superstar. Now, superstars a little bit of a stretch, but he had another dagger three last night. So again, we just continue with this conversation about, you know, what are the Knicks ORG? Is Atrition PERSON going to catch up to him?Well, let me give you a couple examples. So the Canucks beat the Oilers last night, five to four, and all the sudden, attrition caught up to the Oilers ORG. Vancouver overcame a three-gold deficit in the second period. Edmonted up four to one, and you just kept on seeing them grind and grind and grind and grind. Abbs and stars, that's going to be a long series.Whoever Edmonton or Vancouver ORG gets, they're going to deal with a team, they're going to be having a team that's dealt with attrition. Luca PERSON in his knee. Like if I told you right now, OKC going to sweep Dallas ORG, it's not out of the question. Dallas ORG was a favorite, short favorite going into the series, then it flipped to Oklahoma City GPE.But Luca has been, and I believe he was third in MVP voting, Luca, with the Dallas Mavericks ORG, but he's been dealing with this knee that continues to bark until yesterday or two days ago. He said, look, my knee's not going to be any good. It's only going to get worse. I need a whole entire summer to rest. Ah, Trition PERSON.So, again, and the Cavs ORG. How about the Cavs on Tuesday night? The Cabs play a seven game series against the magic. That goes seven. Boston sitting there, chilling, waiting to come out on Tuesday, beat them by 25. Now, that could have something to do with the Cabs stink and the Celtics ORG are great, but it helps my argument with attrition. You understand what I'm saying. Point is, back to the original. This Nick PERSON's story is starting to become an all-time story. If Boston wins, and they will and beat the Cavaliers, and then the Knicks ORG go on to beat the Pacers, which we assume up to O going back to Indiana GPE, we assume that's going to happen. And the Knicks were to beat the Celtics ORG. And this is all time. The Celtics were third all-time in net rating, 77 years. They are not only deep, their second team, on paper, could rival what the Knicks are thrown out there on their first team. So if that were to happen, if the Knicks ORG were to beat in the Eastern Conferencefinals, the Celtics ORG, not only do we now have an all-time story, that we've got a top three. And you might be, oh, well, what about, well, what, yeah, that's the point. Every time you say, well, what about, and you bring up the 88 Celtics, or you bring up the Showtime Lakers ORG, or you bring up the bad boy pistons, Dr. Jay with the 70, that's the point. Once you get past, like, how many, how many do you have? 10? It's not a very old league. We just ran the 150th Kentucky Derby EVENT.It's half the age of horse racing as far as one event, the Kentucky Derby EVENT. So that's a trigger warning for you, Dustin Sweels PERSON. Now, it shouldn't trigger you because you are a Knicks ORG fan. And what you're watching is an all-time moment. Madison Square Garden FAC has been waiting for a while for something like this to happen. And even if you're not a basketball fan, and there are a lot, there are myriad people, even on our network that just like, you know, just wait for college basketball or college football. Keep doing that. Point is, if you're not a basketball fan and you watch that second half and you like sports and you didn't get the juices flowing, I don't know what to help you. I don't know what to tell you. And there's plenty of reasons why people aren't basketball fans. Most of them have to do with how they were raised. But I understand the load management. I understand, you know, the, but we're not dealing with load management anymore. As a matter of fact, how could you go opposite of load management? Let me introduce you to Josh Hart, who's played 48 minutes and two straight, and essentially hasn't missed a minute the whole entire postseason. The opposite of load management. So we should be doing stories about can you believe how much management these basketball players are issuing? You think that's going to come out? You think that story's going to, you think Clay Travis is talking about, man, these guys are grinding.

Speaker 5656.94s - 746.72s

Look, as a Knicks fan Patrick, what happened yesterday was just a moment that I've been waiting for a very long time. There's not been a lot of reasons where you can see something that special happened. And what I'm talking about is Jalen Brunson PERSON. Jalen Brunson PERSON leaving that game, you start talking to yourself. You start doing the, you know what, it was a great run. This season was so much fun. This team was relevant again. But finally, finally an injury is going to hold them back. They lost Randall PERSON, their All-Star. They kept winning. They lost Bogdanovich PERSON, a guy they traded for, continue to win. They lose Mitchell Robinson for a couple different points during the season. Well, wasn't an issue the other night in game one? I start looking,Jalen Brunson PERSON, he's the one who makes the whole thing go. I'm coming to acceptance. I'm understanding the terms that are being played out in front of me that this run is about to end. And I'm starting to become okay with it yesterday. I'm watching the game like, you know what? This was so much fun. The garden was rocking. And then it went up to a different level I wasn't expecting. Jalen Brunson comes back, hashis Willis Reed PERSON moment, limps onto the court, and gives us even more to believe in. So when you talk about attrition and you talk about things catching up with the Knicks ORG, I guess my onlyanswer is, no. It's never catching up with the Knicks ORG.

Speaker 6746.86s - 753.66s

Oh, okay. It's never, they're going to be the first team that wins an NBA ORG title in the 77

Speaker 5753.66s - 768.18s

year history, however old you said the league was, it wasn't paying that close attention to the years, with a four-man roster. They're going to throw four men out there and they're going to win a title. That's how they're built. That's who there are. That's their identity. These New York Knicks ORG are built freaking different.

Speaker 6768.94s - 775s

When you said, my only answer is, and then you pause and said, no, it was a little anti-comactic, but other than that, the rant was awesome.

Speaker 5775s - 789.16s

Well, no was the way to pause the rest to come up with the rest of it on the fly. O.G. played 20. We'll come back and discuss it. It's sharp money. Atrition, baby.

It's brand new. Great on the mobile as well. Best bets, betting splits. Exclusive articles, odds by your state, betting tools, and betting guides. Check out the brand new, vSyn, vSyn.com.Sharp Money presented by Draft Kings, Dustin Swidelson PERSON, hanging out at the D downtown Las Vegas. I'm Patrick Maher PERSON. Hope you're having a nice week. Got a couple of basketball games tonight, a couple on the ice as well.So a little theatrical to start the show. So let's settle down and discuss what we're talking about here. And that is the Knicks ORG. Now, just a heads up tomorrow night in Indiana GPE, the Pacers are laying seven and a half. So 130, 121 winner last night for the Knicks ORG.And you might be thinking, well, hold on a second. The Knicks ORG, you're talking about this being an all-time story with Jalen Brunson. How in the hell are the Pacers laying seven and a half? Well, a couple of reasons. One, OG Ananoby hamstring, he only played 27 minutes. By the way, in those 27 minutes, Annanoby was far and away the Knicks best player. He had 28 points and four boards in 27 minutes. Think about that. So they lost their second B best player and still went on to win the game. So you might be thinking, well, how are the Pacers seven and a half point favorites over at Draft Kings? I don't think Annanobie plays tomorrow. I don't know that. And then here's the other point. The Indiana Pacers submitted 78 plays to the NBA ORG, which they felt were called incorrectly. So apparently 29 plays that the Pacers ORG felt were incorrectly called in game one, and then 49 plays that went the wrong way, according to the Pacers ORG. They submitted that to the NBA in game two.Why do I bring that up as far as the spread? Because the NBA ORG, there will be an edict to balance this out. So yes, the Knicks ORG got home cooking. No, that's not the reasons they won game one and two at home. Dustin PERSON, I'm sure we'll have a rant. We're going to hear from Carlisle PERSON.You're going to hear from all the participants. But that's the reason. The injury is to Robinson PERSON. We understand. Precious PERSON is fine. Robinson PERSON, you miss a little bit of the rebounding.Precious adds a little bit more offense. You saw it yesterday, a little more springy. They're going to be fine there. But if Ann and Obie PERSON misses out, that's a wing defender who's great, can guard all five positions, and somebody that can stroke the three, get to the rim, shot out, that's a wing defender who's great can guard all five positions and somebody that can stroke the three, get to the rim, shot creator, that's it.Okay, so that and then the officiating. So we bring in the big guy seven and a half. Let me just quickly. Dallas, Oklahoma City tonight, it's five. I'm going to tell you guys something right now. Luke PERSON ain't right. And he's not getting right. And there are some weird stories that are coming out now about the maps. We'll get to that coming up in just a little bit. The Cavs are at Boston ORG. It's 13 and a half. You're not going to lay it?Like, why? They've won by 20 plus outside of game two against the heat in every game. They've been double-digit favorites and won by 20 plus points in every single game. That's why I go back to this becoming an all-time story. Because if Brunson and the Knicks continue with a four-man rotation, like Dustin PERSON said, and then they go on to beat a team that's all-time as far as net in the Celtics ORG,their rating, I really wouldn't even know how to conceptualize it. And then if they went on to beat Oklahoma City, Minnesota, or Denver GPE, that's the assumption of the three that would end up there, then I, it's going to be the greatest story in the history of the league. It just is, because they're playing with nobody. So I go back to Dustin, the 78 plays. Now, I do want to preface your bitching about Rick Carlisle to this. He did say after game one, not talking about the officiating. They had in their back pocket the Pacers, 29 calls that they felt like were unjust. They said, we're not going there. And then after game two, they had 49 calls that they felt were unjust. And he finally said, look, we just want a fair shot.Outside of a basic take, shut up and don't complain, look, we just won a fair shot. Outside of a basic take, shut up and don't complain, why are you mad at Rick Carly PERSON? Let's hear from Rick

Speaker 51151.1s - 1157.88s

first, and I can explain, but it comes down to leadership for me. So first, here's Rick Carlisle

Speaker 61157.88s - 1164.1s

after the game, echoing what you just said, talking about the reps impacting things.

Speaker 51164.08s - 1165.84s

what you just said, talking about the reps impacting things?

Speaker 01171.48s - 1197.94s

You know, I'm always talking to our guys about not making it about the officials. But, you know, we just, we deserve a fair shot, you know, and it's just, it's just not, it's just, there's not, there's not a consistent balance, and that's disappointing. So give New York GPE credit for the physicality that they're playing with.

Speaker 11201.98s - 1209.4s

But their physicality is rewarded and ours is penalized just you know time after time

Speaker 01209.4s - 1215.54s

okay well the other clip Patrick PERSON i'll paraphrase what he says but he says small market teams

Speaker 51215.54s - 1324.82s

just want to shot so the i don't want to hear older generations talk about younger generations and how they're soft because right now we have a leader of an NBA ORG team coming out here and blaming the refs for shortcomings that could have been avoided if, I don't know, he had his most impactful player on the floor when it mattered the most in the fourth quarter in T.J. McConnell PERSON. So he's acting like the refs are taking something away from themand as if he and his team don't play a role in this. Where's Miles Turner PERSON down low in the post trying to bang down low and make something happen against depleted Nick PERSON's front court? There are a lot of aspects of this that we can look at, and you want to say the refs are one of many pieces? Sure.Is the whistle a little different at Madison Square Garden FAC? Probably. It'll be different in Indiana GPE. It's different at every home court. But the complaint about that, and to not have T.J. McConnell on the floor when he's been up in Jalen Brunson's PERSON grill the entire series is assinine. Secondly, on the small market thing.Oklahoma City and the Minnesota Timberwolves are also small markets. They're 11-0 in the playoffs. The Denver Nuggets just won a title last year. They're a smaller market. Milwaukee has won a title in the last three, four years. Smaller market. To act like there's something against the smaller markets, untrue. Smaller markets are winning in the NBA ORG. Again, look in the mirror, not look at other people. So when I look at Rick Carlisle here, reminds me of some people in history. Leonidas at Thermopy FAC. Napoleon at Waterloo FAC.Lee at Gettysburg, insert in Carlisle at Madison Square FAC. My final point, Patrick PERSON, if Churchill and Patton sounded like Rick Carlisle, blaming other people, you and I would be talking in Japanese and German LANGUAGE right now. Okay.

Speaker 61327.76s - 1328.4s

All right.

Speaker 51330.04s - 1330.66s

All right.

Speaker 61331.2s - 1331.86s

Hold on.

Speaker 51332.5s - 1332.82s

All right.

Speaker 61333.12s - 1392.18s

Let me start. All right. I do agree with your McConnell PERSON take. The rotation, and we talked about it after game one, I look up, there's three minutes to go, and McConnell PERSON's on the bench, and I'm like, has Rick Carlisle lost his mind? He's their best offender right now. And Jalen Brunson PERSON is cooking and youdon't have McConnell PERSON on him. I don't care if you bring McConnell in there just to piss him off. McConnell didn't play for the final seven minutes yesterday. But now we go back to your point about Rick Carlisle. You constantly are lecturing me about gamesmanship and the importance of it. Correct? Yes. Okay.So if the Pacers are down 02 in a series and they believe that 78 plays went against them and they're going back home to ensure the NBA ORG lets the refs know, hey, make sure you balance this out. Don't you think it's smart of Carlisle to help his team with a little gamesmanship on the way out of MSG FAC?

Speaker 51393.14s - 1416.56s

I would just question the leadership of a man who's now flip-flopped in the span of 48 hours saying I'm not going to talk about the refs. And now he made it a point to literally blame the refs as if he has zero blame in any of this. He's acting like the refs stole the game from him.He plays a role in this as well. He should be better than the refs. He should do enough that the refs don't factor into the result of the game.

Speaker 61417.46s - 1439.58s

So when the Knicks played hard in game 82 and you said, I felt like they should have tanked because of gamesmanship, you believe that that would have been the right strategy there. But Carlisle not helping his team going back to Indiana that the NBA ORG ensures the referees, roughing, roughing game three, give them favorable calls. Is not good gamesmanship?

Speaker 51439.84s - 1444.24s

I'm not saying it's not the right move. I'm saying he is a hypocrite and a weak leader.

Speaker 61445.62s - 1479.94s

But he said, I'm not going to complain about it after game one. Giving the NBA, who tells the officials often what to do, how to official game two, he came out on the other end of it and said, look, I got to say something, my guys aren't being treated fairly. I'm going to look like a Sally PERSON. I'm going to look soft, but going back to Indiana GPE, I've got to help my boysout. And then the team will say we can't blame officiating, but I'll take the hit. Aren't coaches constantly saying, this isn't on them, this is on me? And that's exactly what Carlisle PERSON's doing. He's taking accountability.Well, when the Knicks ORG smoke them in game three

Speaker 51479.94s - 1481.76s

again, who's going to be to blame?

Speaker 61481.92s - 1483.72s

You can't blame the refs anymore. Very good.

Speaker 51483.86s - 1487.58s

No, no, no, very good. Now, one thing I don't have is a crystal ball, but what you just said

Speaker 61487.58s - 1491.9s

is perfect. If he comes out and complains about officiating after getting smoked at home

Speaker 51491.9s - 1527.82s

after laying down the edict of balance out these calls, then feel free to bitch. But it does feel like most things in life, you're a little premature. Yeah, yeah, or not up at all. It depends on the situation. Yeah, look, I get what you're saying. I understand he has to do what he has to do. Just think it's a contradiction of what he was two days ago. And it feels like a lot of complaining when he can look himself in the mirror. And in fact, the Knicks have been very well aware that T.J. McConnell has been an issue. He is in the heads of Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson PERSON. We can

Speaker 61527.82s - 1726.82s

discuss that in the next segment. Totally agree. Contradiction is important. That's a good word. Kind of like where you said you hated the Knicks approach in Game 82 EVENT and then at halftime of Game 1 EVENT against the 76ers you love the approach. A little contradictoryhappens to the best of us. It's just saying I was wrong, admitting my mistakes. We'll see if Rick Carlisle after game three admits to Dustin Swiedleson PERSON his mistakes. We're back. Okay, you may have heard we've got a spring special. So it used to be 12 months for 240, but we're giving you two months free and it's dropping from 240 down to $199 down to 199 at vSyn.com slash subscribe. Larry, if you could go to me and Dustin PERSON here, we'll throw the graphic up in just a second, but I wanted to relay a cool story and an email that I received, and then a challenge for those of you that aren't Veson pros yet. So Dustin Swidelson, I'm Patrick Maher PERSON. This is Sharp Money, presented by Zinn. It's Vsin, the sports betting network. So I got an email, my personal email from a Veson pro subscriber named Jason, big guy. And you can always email the show, Sharp Money ORG at vSin.com.And it's been going great. We get a ton of emails, nice connecting with you, hearing from a lot of Veson ORG pros, kind of feels like a family. It's tremendous. So Jason emails me, he's a busy guy, works corporate. He's like, look, I'm just reaching out to tell you, love the show, signed up as a Visan pro, $199. I made it back in three days. And I was, thank you. Appreciate the support. Jason, appreciate you. Rites back, he's like, look, I'm way too busy for the guides. I'm way too busy for the splits. I literally just go to the leaderboard, see who's hot, and I'm betting the picks. And that's been paid back in three days. So that inspired me. And I'm like, all right, I constantly am telling you, those that aren't visan pros and thosethat are visan pros that becoming a visan pro is worth your money. So if I believe the product is worthy, I need to put my money where my mouth is. I'm an old man. I constantly say when I was coming up in the betting space, there was nothing, and I wish we had these type of resources. So here's what I'm going to do. Jason, you've inspired me. Sign up to become a Veson pro, visan.com ORG slash subscribe. Use the promo code sharp, but you have to use the promo code sharp. It's $199. Thoughts? Well, I just don't think there's any way that you don't find the value because once you become a pro and you get access to everything. We're talking like McInnan's numbers. Steve McEan PERSON dives deeper when it comes to every sport,

Speaker 61739.44s - 1742.32s

deeper than anyone you like me. I don't mean you. I don't need you to do a promo.

Speaker 51742.48s - 1745.22s

I'm saying thoughts on me paying $402 of my own money.

Speaker 61746.18s - 1747.14s

I'm getting there.

Speaker 51747.64s - 1758.58s

What my point is, there is so much stuff on this website that they're going to learn so much that you're not going to have to give them your money. That's my point. Flex on them, big guy.

Speaker 61758.58s - 1765.04s

I'm just that. But I forgot to tell you, you're going in 50%. Yeah.

Speaker 51765.58s - 1769.58s

Why would I be like there's, I'm not going to have to write the check.

Speaker 61769.7s - 1778.52s

So that's okay. I'll offer that. That's my point. Now, as far as timing, I was going to say three months because eventually after three months are going to be like, yeah, this rules. But don't you think two months is plenty?

Speaker 51779.16s - 1785.26s

They're going to acknowledge it within three weeks, less than a month. Like, you know what? I'm a better, better because I signed up.

Speaker 61785.98s - 1818.88s

Now, I'm going to, here's the trick. You could love becoming a Veson ORG pro for $199 and still write a convincing case as to why you don't like it. And I'll send you the $200 bucks. But remember, you're going to be a liar in life. Yeah, it's not a good look. Not for karma. Like Rick Carlisle lying about the refs. No, you were right about T.J. McConnell PERSON. And McConnell's their best defender. He should have been on Brunson. The rotations from Carlisle lying about the riffs. No, you were right about T.J. McConnell. And McConnell PERSON's their best defender. He should have been on Brunson PERSON. The rotations from Carlis are crazy.Tomorrow night, Draft King, seven and a half the Pacers ORG. Dustin, don't you have something from the Brunson and Hart PERSON podcast talking about T.J. McConnell?

Speaker 51818.98s - 1832.24s

Yeah, so the roommates podcast that Brunson and Hart PERSON do together. Back in February, somehow the subject of T.J. McConnell got brought up. This is what these two had to say about that back in

Speaker 11832.24s - 1838.2s

February. What percentage of the NBA ORG could you be in a fight? I don't know. Honestly,

Speaker 01838.36s - 1843.04s

nobody wants to fight. Nobody wants to fight. Everybody just wants to vibe. All bark, no bite. Everyone

Speaker 51843.04s - 1845.52s

wants to just vibe, get paid.

Speaker 01845.98s - 1846.86s

I can beat Ryan PERSON up.

Speaker 51847.28s - 1848.74s

Ooh, I'll beat the shit, Brian.

Speaker 11848.8s - 1861.66s

I can beat T.J. McConnell PERSON up. Ooh. T.J. PERSON is one of those guys. I feel like, you can't just win. Like, you got to kill him. Like, he's not going to stop.

Speaker 51861.66s - 1862.42s

There's something wrong with you, bro.

Speaker 01864.14s - 1866.1s

So he said, Josh Hart PERSON said, T.J. McConnell's the kind of guy. You don't just fight. You're going to stop. There's something wrong with you, bro. So he said, Josh Hart said,

Speaker 51866.2s - 1871.18s

T.J. McConnell PERSON's the kind of guy. You don't just fight. You're going to have to kill him. They know how tenacious that.

Speaker 61871.18s - 1874.74s

So that was, that was hard saying that? Yes. I was trying to decipher the voices. Yeah.

Speaker 51875.08s - 1887.88s

That's a great clip. You know what? You know why? That's a great clip? Because what he's saying is, it's not about basketball. He's built different. There's something, there's something about him. And that goes back to your point about Carlisle PERSON, where I agreed with you.

Speaker 61888.78s - 1922.02s

He has to be. He's a dog. Crunch minutes. McConnell had to be out there defending a bummed, not bummed up Jalen Brunson PERSON. He had to. Look, Dustin PERSON, I don't care if he's throwing fouls at him. It's going to piss Brunson PERSON off. That's what McConnell PERSON does. You need, these guys need to be shook. And it's not happening right now. It's an issue. You're being punked by the Knicks ORG because you want to get your rotations right. That's not what we do in the postseason. We shorten benches.

Speaker 51922.34s - 1971.66s

Yeah, and Brunson PERSON's banged up too. So knock him around, getting his head a little more. Let him become sloppy with the ball. But also, it's think about what you're subbing him in for. You're subbing him in for a guy in Tyrese Halliburton who doesn't want it in the big moment. He's not clutch when it matters, and I think he's really soft. So I saw this on Twitter. I thought this was a fascinating stat. Pacer ORGs have an adjusted net rating when T.J. McConnell is on the. I thought this was a fascinating stat. Pacer's have an adjusted net rating when T.J. McConnell is on the floor per 100 possessions, possessions plus 53.6. Every single rating across the board. Offensive, defensive, and net on the floor plus 21.9, off the floor, negative 31.7. They're a better team when he is playing. Why is he not there in the fourth quarter when you're trying to close out a win on the road?

Speaker 61972.36s - 1984.44s

Well, he played 22 minutes. He had 12 assists. Dustin PERSON, let me ask you a question. Halliburton, 34.6 rebounds, 9 assists. Do you remember Tyrese Halliburton playing in the second half last night?

Speaker 51984.7s - 1989.74s

Everything I remember are shots in the first half when they jumped out to that lead when Brunton PERSON and

Speaker 61989.74s - 2014.94s

Annobe PERSON were off the floor. And your answer is correct. I don't think he had a field goal attempt in the fourth quarter. I'm not saying he's not injured. I'm not saying he's not built for the moment. And I won't agree that he's soft. I have no clue about his character. But you're on to something. He ain't T.J. McConnell PERSON. That clip of Brunson PERSON. Look, if I'm Carlisle PERSON, that's insubordination to not know that that's a dude that gets into those guys' head through social media.

Speaker 52015.06s - 2036.04s

And also, think of the source. The source is Josh Hart and Jalen Brunson, two tough dudes. Josh Hart PERSON especially saying, you're going to have to kill that dude. You don't just fight him. Josh Hart PERSON's one of the toughest guys in to kill that dude. You don't just fight him. Josh Hart PERSON's one of the toughest guys in the league right now. He's playing every second of every game.If he's saying that about the guy on your team, why don't you believe in that guy enough to have him out there? Correct me

Speaker 62036.04s - 2062.26s

if I'm wrong, but this Knicks ORG team, like Josh Hart was coming off the bench for half the season. Now he's playing 48 minutes back to back in playoff games. And he's grabbing 19 points, 15 board, 7 assists. The guy's freaking insane.Jalen Brunson, the Mavs ORG literally let him walk. They didn't get compensation. He was a free agent. Like, that's insane. They didn't beg him to stay.

Speaker 52063.42s - 2064.86s

No, never was just like, no, we're good.

Speaker 62064.92s - 2107.04s

Yeah, we'll figure're good. Yeah, we'll figure it out. You'll figure it out. He doesn't work with Luke PERSON in the back court. Doesn't work with Luke PERSON in the, there are two all-time greats.I know it triggers people when I call Brunson PERSON an all-time great. What more do you need to see? He is getting into the lane and finishing where when he attempts a shot, you're shocked if it doesn't go in. Once a person enters that realm where it's like, dude, he's going to get by defenders and blitzers. You understand what I'm saying? They're blitzing them constantly and he's still getting through, whether he's cutting the defenders, whether he's going around him. And he had a bum. 24 minutes, 24 points.

Speaker 52108.02s - 2109.44s

You have to be proud.

Speaker 62109.44s - 2116.02s

And I also can't remember a player when it matters more just coming up relentlessly with

Speaker 52116.02s - 2118.52s

shot after shot, dribble, drive, dribble.

Speaker 62118.78s - 2124s

It feels like he's shooting 95% from the floor in the final five minutes of every game.

Speaker 52124.48s - 2159.72s

He just, when it matters the most, he wants it, he stays. We saw him lose his composure for a moment where he was fired up yesterday, getting knocked around because of the injury. But that is a dude when it matters. Somehow he becomes more laser-focused. If he somehow carries this team to the finals,it's one of the greatest runs we've ever seen in sports of one guy just willing an entire team. Because you mentioned it. Josh Hart began the year coming off the bench. Dante DiVincenzo began the year coming off the bench. Hartinstein PERSON was the big off the bench. He's doing it with their bench. That's why they have no bench. Yeah.

Speaker 62160.4s - 2166.06s

Hey, by the way, you know, remember when he got fired up? Because he doesn't have much of a person. Like Brunson PERSON, he's low key. Yeah.

Speaker 52166.52s - 2167.74s

You know who knocked him to the ground?

Speaker 62168.32s - 2178.5s

McConnell PERSON. Yep. He wasn't happy. What are we doing? Crunch minutes sitting in game one. The last seven minutes of last night, McConnell PERSON on the bench. What does Carlyle PERSON do?

Speaker 52178.5s - 2183.16s

He also forced an eight seconds call, not getting over halfway when he was up in Brunson PERSON's grill.

Speaker 62183.64s - 2210.12s

He was all over him, and he's a a pest and Brunson PERSON's banged up. You have to play that guy 30, 35 minutes. 40 minutes. I don't care. Three straight segments of the Knicks ORG for the big guy. That was for you. When we return, Dallas ORG is in trouble. We'll discuss. This is it. We've got an Amex Platinum Pro PRODUCT on our hands, ladies and gentlemen.

It's a great way to enjoy the NBA ORG playoffs.Draft Kings, the crown is yours. Extra, extra, read all about it. That was a great headline at the Post today. The New York Post, extra, extra read, Willis Reed PERSON, all about it. Talking about Brunson PERSON, absolutely love that.So we've been talking a lot about Bronson and the Knicks ORG. I think there's some questions. You know, we had Mark Malusus from the fan on yesterday's program, and I said, you know, do you think this is going to catch up to him against the Celtics ORG? He's like, I don't give him a shot against the Celtics ORG. And that is why, now, of course, this is my career, this is my job.I have to be a little verbose. But when I'm calling this starting to become an all-time story, what I'm saying is if they do end up beating the Celtics ORG, it is an all-timer. It already is so fascinating because if you talk about benches shortening during the postseason, we're not talking about missing out on your second best player. Julius Randall gives you 24 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5 assists a game.I'm making that up up to top my head, but I guarantee I'm close. 24, 8.5, and 5? Look that up up to top of my head, but I guarantee I'm close. 24, 8.5 and 5? Look that up for me. Imagine any other team, and we've been having this conversation. You know, Jamal Murray PERSON, who played the last time out,had a bum calf, and they got killed. What are his numbers? Well, you said 24, 8, and 5? I said 24, 8.5 and 5.

Speaker 52442.12s - 2450.32s

24 points on the dot. Five assists on the dot. Five assists on the dot. 9.2 rebounds. Okay, I was off.

Speaker 62450.5s - 2451.5s

Pretty close, though.

Speaker 52452.16s - 2497.94s

Pretty close. Pretty close. Somebody was betting a lot of Julius Randall props this regular season. You were betting a lot of assists on him. I remember that. I was.I was. But that's the point. He's not just a guy that can create his own shot and shoot well. Also, when he wants to,he can defend. He's a guy that can facilitate. And you miss out on him. Bro, if they're missing OG An Anobie and go to Indiana and win where the Pacers ORG are awesome. And that's another reason for the seven and a half. The Pacers ORG are awesome at home. I no longer know what to say about this Knicks ORG team. Look, I can't remember. There's a player jumping out to me taking a team on a run, but it ended, obviously. And that was Isaiah Thomas with the Celtics ORG recently, of recent teams.

Speaker 62497.94s - 2563.96s

That's a good one. Where he was just carrying them, willing them, and he was playing above his head. Brunson PERSON's a totally different player, both lefties ironically. But when I look what Brunson's doing right now, the crazy part is they lose Randall PERSON, but then the two guys who were going to take that offensive burden and help, they've also lost, a guy who's going to take that defensive burden from losing Randall PERSON away. And Robinson PERSON, they lost. So they keep just losing pieces, and they don't make excuses. I think that's my thing when I look at Rick Carlisle. The Knicks ORG have plenty of excuses. What's your excuse for your team letting the New York Knicks last night dominate, score a ton of points when they're not a great offensive team to begin with when they don't have Randall, when they don't have Bogdanovich PERSON and when theydon't have Adenobie on the floor yesterday, you're letting them get buckets. They're not even playing their game. They're playing your game better than you're playing your game. So we asked the question in the NBA ORG postseason. Is game two, if you're down 0-1, a must win? So I'll ask you, do the Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers ORG enter game twoin a must-win spot?

Speaker 52565.6s - 2589.66s

The Mavericks ORG, it does feel like they need to prove that they can hang. And with Oklahoma City GPE being so dominant at home, you kind of have to send a message at some point that you can knock them off because they're hot. They looked awesome. They were feeding off the energy, game one with the home court advantage. You have to prove if you're going to win a title this year, that you can end that run that they have at home right now in the playoffs.

Speaker 62590.2s - 2722.32s

Well, here's the answer. Teams up 2-0 go on to win 90 plus percent of the time, the series, and the NBA ORG. So I would say it's pretty much a must-win for the Mavs tonight. So let's try to find a route for the Mavs tonight. So Oklahoma City's Lane five big guy. This number open, four and a half got pushed up.There's no surprise there. Luca, his knee could mean the end for Dallas ORG. Now, I don't know if you saw the report today that somebody close to the team that covers the team said the Mavericks players when Luca PERSON is taken off the court, kind of sigh relief because now they can run their regular sets. I don't know if that's true.Luca PERSON seems to get along with his teammates, but the Thunder ORG certainly were dominant in game one. And what I find interesting about the Thunder, remember when Kyrie a few minutes into the third hit that three, and I believe they were down 65-64. I jumped in at plus 165 on the Mavs ORG just as a flyer.Like maybe they'll continue. And then the Oklahoma City, like Jane Daniels PERSON, they just absolutely went nuts. They couldn't miss. Holmgrim's hitting threes from the cornerand just ran away in 1-1-17-95. Here's the problem. Luca in the postseason shooting 39 and a half% from the floor and 22% from three. He has made five of his last 35 three-point attempts. That's not great. So whether or not they can beat the thunder, you don't want to count them out becauseKyrie had a subpar game in game one as well. You expect him to play a little bit better, but like I said, had a subpar game in game one as well. You expect him to play a little bit better, but like I said, Kyrie PERSON's a great shooter, but really where he's dominant is when he's getting into the lane and finishing. And Holmgren PERSON, who is, you know, we talk about them not having a pure big,but he's just one of those guys that's floating and constantly a danger to block your shot. I will say a focus today should be on Gaffert PERSON, because they do have an advantage and we'll get into the props. But versus the thunder, he's well above his scoring average. Gafford did work and it's a good job by you with your handicap in game one and I expect him to continue to work. I don't expect the Mabbs to win tonight. Yeah, and they didn't adjust the number

Speaker 52722.32s - 2790.08s

very much in game two, especially I looked at the rebounds. That's the route I'm going to go. But on the Luca thing, the knee's not right, 22.7% from three in the postseason. And when we look at Oklahoma City GPE, I think they deserve some of the credit there. I think some of it's Lucas PERSON injury. We always say in football, if you can rush, get to the quarterback on defense, or protect the quarterback, your team's likelygoing to be successful long term. I think the equivalent to that in the NBA is, can you shoot the three and can you defend the three? And that's something Oklahoma City GPE is exceptional at. Number one, three point offense in the regular season, number 11, three point defense, and I think we're seeing their three point defense, that just perimeter defense in general, give Dallas ORG some fits, especially when Luca PERSON may not have his whole bag accessible right now with how he's banged up. I was thinking about Kyrie PERSON props as well. I'm just curious, do they give the ball to Kyrie and let him facilitate more versus Luca PERSON with the bum leg?It might be easier for him to facilitate and kick it around than be just a spot-up shooter. So I don't know how to approach that one. I am going to look at Gafford PERSON, though, as well.

Speaker 62790.9s - 2843.16s

Interesting on Luca, his regular season average points 33-9, and he's dropped the 28-3 in the postseason. But here's the thing. He's super prideful, and he's a competitor. A pro text me earlier today, look at his first quarter point, so maybe you could look that up for me because the expectation is Luca PERSON's going to come out, fired up, look to get going early, and then if that knee's barking, he wears down as the gameprogresses. So maybe we can look up what, I don't know the number, we can look up what they have Lucas set at for the first quarter. And then back to your Gafford point, like I agree with you as far as Daniel Gafford PERSON. It's set at 19 and a half for points, rebounds, and assists. He had 16 points, 11 boards, and an assist in game one. Absolutely crushed the number. Maybe they adjusted it a little bit, but I saw 19 and a half earlier today.

Speaker 52843.4s - 2905.1s

Okay. So Luca, you can get 9 plus in the first quarter at plus 105 over at Draft Kings, lay minus 190 at 7 plus. But Luca, I remember Brad Feinberg when he came on the first time. I think he had a bet on Luca first quarter and said he was averaging over like eight and a half points in the first quarter in the playoffs. So that would make a lot of sense there. As far as Gafford PERSON goes in this one, he's had really good numbers against OKC all year. I'm just going to talk rebounds here. So 11, 15, 9, and 9 versus the Thunder this year. Some of those with Dallas, some of those when he was with Washington ORG,but also factoring, there's no Maxi Kleba PERSON. And as long as Kleba's not there, there's opportunities for Gafford PERSON to see the floor. I was surprised Derek Lively was so ineffective statistically in game one. I thought he would have a better time. But Gafford seems to be the guy that is going to give Oklahoma City GPE fits just the way that he plays. He can get buckets if you need him. And you might need those easy buckets to someone down low when you're not going to be able toget as much out of L Luca PRODUCT as you normally get.

Speaker 62905.8s - 2911.12s

And by the way, PJ, PJ Washington, kid was really weird with his minutes.

Speaker 52912.16s - 2916.78s

He's, and they wanted to go, they were doing different things with their lineups.

Speaker 62916.9s - 2921.86s

And then, of course, everybody got pulled when they were getting blown out late, or you could have eventually got those chippies on the end.

Speaker 52921.86s - 2922.7s

We missed by the hook.

Speaker 62923.4s - 2930.98s

But Gafford PERSON, look, I'll look it up right now. And why I loved your Gaffert play in game one, I guarantee Gafford PERSON played more minutes. So let me just quickly.

Speaker 52930.98s - 2931.96s

Oh, no, he did. Tuesday.

Speaker 62932.92s - 2941.04s

Yeah, Gaffert v. Washington ORG. So who's getting those minutes? Let's take a look. Washington 25, 27 for Gafford PERSON. Those two extra minutes are everything.

Speaker 52941.9s - 2963.02s

Yeah, look. And, by the way, PJ Washington should be a guy who can pick up some of that slack with No Klebo PERSON, with Lucas PERSON knee the way it is. I just want them to use them more. I don't know how much he gets used. The usage rate for guys like Tyree and Luca PERSON when they have the ball in their hands, especially later in games, is just a lot different than what PJ Washington's going to get in the postseason.

Speaker 62963.84s - 2967.02s

100p. So is it 19 and a half for PRA for Gaffert tonight?

Speaker 52968.04s - 2971.66s

You got to get there. I think it is.

Speaker 62972.36s - 2973.24s

Gafford 19 and a half.

Speaker 52974s - 2974.22s

Okay.

Speaker 62974.4s - 2975.16s

Yeah, we're going to go over.
