Bobby Wood Jr. has hit a home run and three of his last four appearances with the Royals ORG.Brady Singer PERSON. Against A.O. West's ORG opponents, by way, I'd add. Yeah, we can dive a little bit deeper into that.The Royals rank first in the league for runs aloud this season. The Royals are also second in the league for strikeouts against this season. Texas is second in the league for opponent batting averages here. Rangers are third in the league for hits allowed this season. Rangers, decent start, although the defending champs surely expect to be better than barely above 500. But this is baseball.You kind of expect the things to be a little bit different. They've been decent, though, in almost every facet, even with a bunch of banged-up pitchers. That's been the big thing for the Texas Rangers ORG. The pitching has just been dealing with a bunch of injuries at this point. Michael Lorenzen is getting his fourth start with the club.Two of those came on the road and ended with a Rangers ORG win. Overall, he's giving up 12 hits, nine walks, and eight runs across 17 innings. Offensively, Texas is 15th and runs per game with 4.53. Not near as good as last year's dominance, but still, nothing wrong with it. Rangers are 9th and batting average, 12th and O BP, and ninth in slugging percentage. They have the ninth most home runs in Major League Baseball's ninth lowest strikeout percentage.Meanwhile, the Kansas City Royals ORG, their pitching staff has been great. 294 ERA at home. Brady Singer will get the start, 259 ERA after four home starts. Kansas City has won three of those outings. He has a whip of 101. He has allowed more than two runs in one start this season.The bullpen, as bad as the bullpen was at the beginning. The ERA for the bullpen is now ninth so far. Royals scoring 463 when it comes to runs per game, 4.63. Good for 14th in the league. That includes at least four runs in five of their past six. Kansas City has the second lowest trackout percentage in Major League Baseball ORG, along with an 86% rate on stolen baseattempts, in case you're wondering. The Royals coming off the most wins in the month of April. They do get the W in the series against the Toronto Blue Jays ORG. And now they have the Texas Rangers ORG, which I think we all circle that this could be a potentially big series. Royals ORG got up to a good start.Now can they keep it rolling here in the month of May? Don't want to see them lose any steam at this point. But they are facing a team that does have the ability to hit home runs. With the Rangers ORG dealing with a slew of injuries when it comes to pitching, and the fact of the Royals ORG' offense is clicking, you would hope that that could be a recipe for success for the Kansas City Royals ORG.But this is baseball. You never know what might happen when it comes to that. For me, a key for the Kansas City Royals ORG, the nice thing is it is taking place in a stadium that isn't home run happy. It is Coppin Stadium FAC after all. First of six consecutive games there in Kansas City ORG.With Texas ORG's ability to hit those home runs, I think simply put, try to keep the ball. If you're going to have it go high up in the air, I guess you're going to be fine with that. So I guess continue to trust your part. Continue to trust that defense, as good as the offense has been these last so many games. The defense continues to be top tier in Major League Baseball ORG.So rely on that defense. I think home runs. Limiting those is certainly a big key. And if you force some pop-ups, okay, then be ready for them, which, of course, it should be routine. But the big thing is, though, being ready to make those plays defensively,I think that is certainly a big thing. So with Texas ORG's ability to hit home runs, the pitching staff can lower that and handle that at this point, then it could be a really good series for the Kansas City Royals here this weekend. All right, Jack Johnson PERSON, you're the real baseball guru. What's the key or keys to a successful series for the Kansas City Royalsafter coming off that series win against Toronto ORG?

Yeah, I think it'd be jumping on some of the Texas ORG pitching early on in this series. You get Lorenzen who's only made three starts on the year tonight, and then you're going to get John Gray on Sunday and Dane Dunning on Saturday. I don't think this is one of those series where you're going to want to allow those guys to settle in, for lack of a better term. I think the Royals ORG have really struggled over the last handful of games,really producing much in the early parts of the game. Sometimes they get a couple runs in the first, but then not much till the very end of the game. And if you can find a way to maybe grab a couple in the first three innings, well then you dive into Texas ORG's bullpen, which I'm just not super high on, and giving yourself a better chance to either extend that lead or a better chance to come back late in the game. So I think that's one way to snap some of these guys out of their slumps, M.J. Melendez being one, Nelson Velasquez, Hunter Renfro PERSON, guys that really need to turn things around here.I know you're never going to have nine guys all playing well at the same time, but it would be good for the Royals lineup to have about five going on this homestand. Right now I think they've got about three consistently going pretty well. But you get that number to five. I think this offense can look really, really good. And then before you head off back on the road,you take on the Angels and Anaheim next weekend. Getting this offense right on a six-game homestine is very important. And one way to do that is trying to pile on some runs in the early going. And I'm not just that impressed with Texas ORG's rotation, at least the three you're seeing over the weekend. They avoided Nathan Avaldi, who threw a shutout ball yesterday against Washington ORG.Again, Michael Lorenzen PERSON, who knows how he can look. It's so early into the year, and he hasn't even had as many starts as the rest of the guys out there. Dane Dunning, not overpowering stuff, though the Royals always struggled with him when he was pitching for the White Sox ORG. And then John Gray is one of those high-velocity guys, but I think the Royals ORG lineup fares well against high-velocity guys. So good matchups. Yeah, pitching is certainly important. You don't have your two strong suits going in Cole Reagan's and Seth Lugo PERSON. They'll be pitching Monday and Tuesday against Milwaukee GPE. But I think this comes down to offense in this series.If the Royals can get something going in the first five innings, I think they got the better bullpen to hang on to some leads late and maybe take two of three.
