It's going on to Rome GPE. So the NFL draft is in the rear view mirror in the Minnesota Fighting ORG. Vikings have secured their quarterback in future in Jay, Jay McCarthy PERSON, as well as Dallas Frickin Turner on the edge. I love it, man. Now, the focus needs to be, yes, there's rookie camp, yes, there's OTAs, yes, there'severything coming up, but priority one needs to be extending Justin friggin' Jefferson PERSON. As JJ superstar, best wide receiver in the game, heads into the fifth year option of his contract, yeah, the Vikings could take, heads into the fifth year option of his contract. Yeah, the Vikings ORG could take this thing to the mat. They could franchise tag, franchise, tag, franchise tag. But through all negotiations, all of the media reports, and we've seen before when players want to force their way out of town. When they're not getting their contract done, it's time for a new beginning, all of the trade rumors, all the speculation, all the passive aggressiveness. Oh, removing his pictures from Instagram ORG. We've seen all that. Not just DeGgs, but around the league, by the way, but haven't heard a peep about that with JJ PERSON. I haven't heard anything that could be leaked from the team. Everyone wants to get things done. Quasi PERSON said that they'revery close to an extension before the start of last year. He seems very optimistic, as well as it's a great sign that Justin Jefferson PERSON has already texted J.J. McCarthy PERSON. So he approves of the heir to Kurt Cousins and the guy who's going to be potentially throwing him the ball for the rest of his prime. It's kind of a big deal. It's kind of an important relationship. Long story longer. Alec Lewis PERSON Over the Athletic, who's been on fire, by the way. He's kind of a big deal. It's kind of an important relationship. Long story longer. Alec Lewis over the athletic, who's been on fire, by the way. He's been fantastic. I did up a piece, Justin Jefferson Extension, number one priority for Vikings ORG and GM Quasi Adofa Mensa PERSON.Now, go read the full article. It's really great, but a couple of things that stood out to me. One agent who has negotiated top of the market contracts says that he thinks 34 million a year is in the ballpark for Jefferson, who has eclips a thousand yards receiving in all four seasons as a pro, including 2023. We only play 10 games, blah, blah, blah.Another agent who has negotiated multiple high-end receiver contracts said that they believe, that they believe 35 million to 36 million a year is in play if Jefferson PERSON signs a five-year extension. All right. And now it goes back and forth. Like, is it going to be a true extension on top of the fifth year option? Is it going to be a completely new contract? Is it going to be a three-year deal, four-year deal, five-year deal? Who knows? Right. And then second piece. Guarantees are an entirely different beast and often can be misleading. One of the agents said, Bosa received $88 million fully guaranteed at signing, which was easily the most of any non-quarterback. And one of the agents suggested Jefferson's figure could hover around $65 million. Now, 65 million guaranteed seems pretty low to me because you get into the wide receiver contracts. So A.J. Brown PERSON got paid. Same thing with the Monter, Sam Brown PERSON.So they reset the market. And, you know, Tyree Kill is still making $30 million a year, although the last year of his contract is basically toilet paper but in terms of the total guarantee a.J. Brown leaned the way with 84 million now several other wide receiver contracts St. Brown, Tyreek Hill PERSON, Cooper Cup and Devante Smith all eclipse at 60, Devante Ams 2 all eclipse at 65 million guaranteed. So that's going to be a non-starter. Like I think he's easily going to eclipse that. Now, looking at non-quarterback contracts, so we don't have St. Brown PERSON, we don't have A.J. Brown or St. Brown PERSON on this list, or A.J. Brown's PERSON new contract. But whatever, but Nick Bosa leading the way with $88 million. T.J. Watt number two with $80 million.I think that's where we're talking about. And our prediction, we've stood by this. I think it's going to be four years, $140 million, $35 million a year average on top of the fifth year option. So in terms of new money, $35 million per year, $100 million guaranteed, also front-loaded, so the Vikings can absorb those cap hits in 2025 and 2026. And then my prediction, they're going to announce a June 4th mandatory minicamp.Because Quasi has also talked about how JJ deserves his own week, month, even his year. I'll be there for you to basically get his flowers, get his plaudits, and everyone, he's a poor part of the team, got his cash, earned every single penny, etc. And we were mere weeks away from the face of the NBA ORG when they're the AdWords and the face of the NFL in Justin Jefferson inked up in Minnesota GPE long term. It's good times, man.And also, you know, Anthony Edwards is going to bring a title here in a couple weeks. Justin PERSON, going to do the same. That's right, babe. That's right.

Speaker 2304.5s - 310.9s

It's going on to Rome's. It is a beautiful, amazing, stunning, brave, just delightful Thursday DATE.

Speaker 0311.2s - 1024.3s

Happy Thursday out there to those to celebrate. It's basically the weekend. It's a freaking weekend, baby, about to have me some fun. It's time for another Vikings ORG news dump. He sees you when you're pooping. That's right. So it's kind of expensive being a sports fan. So the merch, if you go to games, if you live out of market, Sunday ticket, everything. Everything comes with the price, man. But it's worth it because of all the championships. That's what we'll go with, man. But something interesting. So finance buzz did up a survey of 1,100 NFL fans and the calculated concessions and alcohol spent per game as well as merchandise spent per year. And looking at the NFC, there's a couple things that stand out. Number one, Vikings ORG fans were at the bottom. We start at the bottom and now we're here. Now, what's interesting is that this does not directly correlate to fan quality or fan caliber, right? Because you look around the league, I think a lot more has to do with location, location, location. Because, I mean, of course, if you're a Rams fan, you're spending 176 bucks MONEY on concessions. That's redonculus, man. That's absolutely bad-blip insane. But, of course, it is L.A. Plus, you're going to spend, like, what's parking now? $150, something like that? Who knows, man? And also, Cardinals ORG fans go hard on the paint on merch. Same thing with the bucks. It's going on. Like, Cardinals fans, like, they had to replace the Rondale Moore PERSON jersey. I don't know. I don't get it man but again what's interesting is that the vikings so i don't have the afc numbers but the vikings are the bottom of all three categories now that it seems a little bit ludicrous doesn't it because i mean a beer at u.s bank ORG stadium so actually full disclosure i don't go to games like becauseviking's games i'm here on this wall. You want me on this wall. You need me on this wall. And I'm watching all my fancy teams on the multiple TVs, keeping up with the other games. It's beautiful. Sundays are beautiful, man. But, I mean, beers like what? It's like target center target field. It's like 12, 13, 14 bucks MONEY a crack. So, I mean, alcohol 33, 38? Have they seen this team play? How do you spend so little on booze?I get it. And concessions 6410 CARDINAL. Now, what's interesting is that the Falcons, the average concession, is just shy of 90 bucks. And the Falcons ORG are famous for having really cheap and reasonably priced concessions. So that's interesting. So Vikings 6410, the lowest in the NFC, as well as alcohol 33, 38 lowest in the NFC, except for the Panthers, which, hey, Carolina GPE, what's going on?What's going on? 1313. So you buy a beer and leave a $1.13 tip. No wonder David Tepper PERSON's so mad. He's broke, man. And then the Vikings fans, 7833 CARDINAL on merchandise. Now, if you want to get, like, one of the nice, like, stitched jerseys, I mean, that's, that's 150 walking out the door. More if you want, like, the Nike ORG hyper zoom-humper jet, whatever. But, no. Who's at the top of merch? Bears ORG fans? Oh, because they have to get a new quarterback jersey every other year.Ah, got them. Concessions-wise, like we said, the Rams is up top of, except Rams up top, got the Niners ORG. I think that's more like location, location, location. Booze. So who spends the most on booze? The Bears ORG, that makes sense. The Bears and the Niners ORG. But, I mean, the Niners ORG, you're getting a thimble of a very nice cabernet and the bears you're drinking old style. I mean, how much is old style cost nowadays? That's ridiculous. Also, 15226 CARDINAL on concessions.I didn't even see that. Wow. It's insane. Yeah. But we go through these numbers all day. And also, are they accurate?Who knows? But it sounds good. I mean, they surveyed 1,100 people. Who knows? You can survey one person who thinks that J.J. McCarthy is going to be the future franchise quarterback of the Vikings, bringing silverware and a dozen drum parties to the Vikings over the next 10 years. It's beautiful. But CBS Sports, Cody Benjamin PERSON, did up a power rankings of quarterbacks. Now, presumed starting quarterbacks. So, he put McCarthy in there over Sling and Sam Darnel PERSON. Now, Darnel probably would have been about the same. And J.J. McCarthy clocked in at 25. Now, need to start from the top. Now we hear. So, Bahams, yes, Purdy PERSON at too. I don't know, man. Like, I understand that maybe the Brock Purdy PERSON game manager hate and allegations have gotten out of control. But just having a blat canvas of a team. You don't know who your receivers are. You don't know who your line is. You don't know who your coaches are. Just the quarterback. Are you going to take Brock Purdy or Joe Burrow or Brock Purdy or Josh Allen or Brock Purdy or Lamar or Brock Purdy or C.J. Stroud PERSON.Nah, no, no, no, no, no. Alan at three. I would still take Burrow over Josh Allen. I would. Stroud at 5. Spicy, but I'm on board.I like it. Lamar is still up there at 6. Jalen Hertz is too high. Dak Prescott PERSON's too high. I would bump Herbert up to probably seven. Jordan Love cracking the top 10.I'm not upset about it, but also people forget that he was asked. Thank you, the first half of last season. No big deal. So getting into the rest of it. So Rogers at 11.I'm glad that he wasn't in the top 10. Two is too high. Jared Goof PERSON is too high. Kurt Cousins. So it's funny that Kurt finally gets some respect once he goes to Falcons ORG. I just played. Trevor Lawrence, Stafford PERSON. Stafford's too low.Deshawn Watson's way too high. Gino's too high. Russell's way too high. Baker PERSON's too low. Kyler PERSON's about right. And then you get into the rookies and the whatever's. So Levitt's at 22. I know what he's doing and keeping all the rookies low because they haven't proved anything yet, but I would put Caleb Williams above Willevis PERSON. I would put Richardson above Willow PERSON. I know the Richardson got hurt last year, but come on.Come on, man. McCarthy clocking in a 25, which is interesting because he's second of the rookie quarterbacks ahead of Jaden Daniels PERSON, who's at 28. A head of, well, they do, hold on. So why did they list McCarthy and Bonix as a starters, but not Drake May PERSON?But Drake May probably would be about 27, too, so we'll take that. But McCarthy ahead of Daniels, McCarthy ahead of Bonix PERSON as well. And also, I just love that Derek Carr PERSON's accurately ranked, finally. Because everyone, everyone in their mom thinks that Derek Carr is a top 12 quarterback. No, he's not. And Derek Carr is who the media wants you to think Kurt Couss PERSON is, just sampling back to when we were together. But McCarthy ahead of Derek Carr PERSON, sure. Minchu PERSON. I think Minchu PERSON is too low. I kind of like Gardner Munchu PERSON. Bryce Young, astute, as well as Daniel Jones PERSON. Now, Bryce Young PERSON, got some offensive line help, got some weapons help, and I'm sure that Dave Kandless PERSON is going to do good things with him, but I still don't know. I still don't know, man. But, yeah, Mahomes PERSON the goat. Pretty's too high. You know what to do.Someone who is also the goat. So, Justin PERSON, put up numbers. Wide receiver 1, deserves to get paid. Vox ORG's fan page put this together. Most receiving yards per game in NFL history, minimum 50 games played. So JJ through three seasons, four straight thousand yards seasons, even including last year when he was dinged up.But JJ averaging 98.3 yards per game, which is a good temperature, ahead of Calvin Johnson PERSON, like 12 plus yards per game ahead of Calvin Johnson, ahead of Antonio Brown PERSON. Now, Antonio Brown, he started off slow, but he had like a 5-60-year DATE stretch where he was absolutely insane, pun intended. Julio at 82.5. Wow. Well, I think a lot of that is Julio playing later into his career with the, do you know, Julio played with the Titans on the Bucks ORG?So, yeah, that's definitely bringing out that average. Tyree Kill, I mean, you think the Tyree Kill will be higher, but he's not. So Justin Jefferson PERSON is that guy. He is that dude. Pay him. We all know. We all know what's going on.Also know what's going on. So I love the day three pickup of Walter Rouse PERSON. I think that he's going to be a solid swing tackle down the line. He's been a five-year starter left tackle, four at Stanford, one at Oklahoma. Important to note that Dylan Gabriel, quarterback of Sooner ORG's last two seasons, one year with Rouse as his tackle, but wasn't the blind side since Gabriel PERSON's left-handed. But extremely efficient is a plus athlete and does have great size, great length, and I thinkthat he could be a little sum and something for the Vikings that tackle. Now, Chad Reuter, NFL.com, whose work we respect, although his seven-round Vikings mock draft this year was Pooh-Beh. Very poop-a. But day three rookies who could compete for starter snaps in year one. Now, he lists a Walter Rouse PERSON. Now, Rouse is behind Derrissaw and Brian O'Neill and probably David Cuisenberg PERSON. So poop would have to hit the fan.But this is what Chad PERSON wrote. Sixth round 177. It's not unusual for a day three offensive tackle to be thrust into a starting role at some point. In his rookie year due to injuries up front, Rouse could be in a position to get that chance as the Vikings ORG lack depth of the position. He's a stout experienced player who would not shrink from the opportunity if an injurysidelines Christian Derisaw PERSON. Don't you put that evil on me, rookie Bobby, who missed the last two games in each of the last three years in league now? I respect Rouse PERSON. I do not want Rouse PERSON to play at all as a rookie. Now, could he potentially be the successor for Brian O'Neill PERSON if it comes to a head down the line, whether it's age, whether it's whatever, sure. Or if you believe Quasi PERSON, could they potentially kick him inside? I don't see it, but who knows? Who knows, man? But either way, knocking on all the wood, dares on a contract year, stay healthy, get paid. That's all. Also, speaking, I get paid. So the NFL delaying the schedule release a week, whatever, whatever. But it is rumored that the Ravens and the Chiefs will square off the opening Thursday to start the 2024 season. And then it will be Packers and Eagles in Brazil GPE and then build the wall. Just close the border with those deronies in South America LOC. Do that. But the Ravens and the Chiefs ORG. So it's really mean. It's a very, very mean of the league to have the Ravens ORG open up the season at Kansas City and then end the season at Kansas City. Because you know that's what's going to happen. Like whether it's the visual round, whether it's the AFC title game, the Ravens will lose, and they will lose at Arrowhead FAC.That's what happens. That's what happens, man. Man, you almost have to feel bad for Lamar PERSON. You have to feel bad for Burrow, Josh Allen, probably shroud to a degree Justin Herbert, that you're in the same conference as Mahomes PERSON. And your path to the Super Bowl EVENT is basically impossible. I mean, I know that Joe Burrow PERSON squirted one in there, but I mean, it's tough. It's going to be tough for a long, long time. Thank goodness we're in the NFC ORG. Also in the NFC is Michael Pennings PERSON. So Falcons wishing Michael Peck's PERSON happy birthday. Now, Pennix PERSON is an older prospect. You just turned 24.But the clock is ticking. Right now, man. Hey, I know that you pay Kurt Cudders PERSON a whole lot of money, but you drafted a quarterback number eight overall. You didn't draft a quarterback at eight to sit for two, three years.

Speaker 21030.54s - 1035.64s

It's going on to Rome. So you're a Minnesota to find Vikings maneuvered in the first round and secured for my money, the best edge rusher in the class in Dallas Turner from Alabama GPE.

Speaker 01037.04s - 1662.34s

Tide. That's right. So great value at 17 because it was a weird draft with all the quarterback's take and also got your quarterback in the future. You're going to be good to go. And the pride of Alabama GPE is indeed going to be that talisman on the edge, rack it up and stack it up, sacks as a wide nine NASCAR ORG just getting after that quarterback's ass. I love it, man. And you know who's excited? Brian Flores PERSON.Brian Flores PERSON got to be hyped up. And recently Brian Flores was asked who Dallas Turner reminds him of. And he had an interesting name. So another Alabama player, but stylistically, not a one-for-one match, but Flores PERSON compared him to former Alabama and New England Patriots linebacker Danta Hightower PERSON. Now, Flores and Hightower PERSON go way back like a hydropactor during their time together withthe Patriots, winning multiple Super Bowls EVENT, something beautiful to see. So obviously, he would know a little bit something and something about Danta High Tower PERSON. This is what he said. This is from NFL.com. As recently by Tatum Everett of the team's official website, respect to the VEN ORG, to name a player who Turner reminds him of Flores cited another former Alabama GPE defender.I just said that. I was asked recently, Flores PERSON said, the name that comes to mind and he was another Alabama player is Danta High Tower PERSON. Big, fast, physical, great traits, and intangibles, leadership. That's the name that comes to mind, and he was another Alabama player, is Dante Hightower PERSON. Big, fast, physical, great traits and intangibles leadership. That's the name that comes to mind. I would say he's probably a little faster than Hightower PERSON.Just a smith. We'll get into that. If the comparison sounds familiar, it's the one former Bama head coach Nick Saban PERSON also made a turn during draft coverage, noting the incoming rookie's position flexibility. And, of course, Nick Saban PERSON would know he recruited, he coached both of them. A 2012 first round pick of the New England Patriots ORG, Hightower played nine seasons with the Patriots, but Flores on the coaching staff for his first seven seasons. During his run in Foxborough, Hightower, keyed three Super Bowl wins, earned a second team while pro selection and was a two-time pro bowler. Turner could bring more upside as a pass rusher than Hightower, But the comparison is notable, particularly as Flores PERSON looks to get the rookie on the field early in his career. Position flexibility in the biking system could open the door for additional reps and allow Flores PERSON to geteven more creative with his frontline pressures. Finding a way to get Turner, Grenard PERSON, and Van Ginkle on the field together will make Minnesota GPE's defense front much scarier. So yes, yes, yes. Now, High Tower, that's a big time of respect because everyone talks about the Patriots and, you know, Tom Brady and Kronk and Belichick PERSON and all that stuff. But Danta High Tower PERSON on defense was a mainstay, and he really was a straw that stirred the drink. He made some big time plays in the Rams Super Bowl, Florida's last game with the Patriots ORG, as well as he, Dantahitour PERSON was the one who made the shoestring tackle on Beast Mode PERSON to put him down at the one. Otherwise, he would have just waltzed in. And then, of course, Russell Wilson and Daryl Beville PERSON just decided to throw it.And also, Hightower helped spark the comeback from 283 with that strip sack of Maddie Ice PERSON, Matt Ryan PERSON. So, I mean, Hightower PERSON just has a nose for making plays. And like the article said, like stylistically, it's not really a one-for-one comparison because Turner was 6-2-247 and an absolute like NASCAR ORG F-1 off the edge. A high tower was 63270 coming out of Bama ORG.Like basically like a throwback to the old school like LeVon Kirkland PERSON type outside linebacker. And he kicked inside with the Patriots ORG, and what was just an absolute stud, absolute stud for a number of years. But I do think that the comparisons of the leadership, of the intangibles, the work ethic, as well as ability to make plays, really does stand out. And it's interesting that both Sabin and Flores PERSON, who obviously would know both these guys prettydamn well, talking about Turner PERSON's positional flexibility, and maybe Turner, who would be great as a wide-nine edge rusher, maybe he kicks inside for a couple of downs. Maybe he puts his hand in the dirt. Maybe he does a lot of things. But I don't know. I understand, like, the sky is the limit with Dallas Turner for sure. But, I mean, Dantahit PERSON, four-time team captain of the Patriots ORG, three-time Super Bowl EVENT champion, 569, nice career tackles as well as 27 career sacks. Now, Turner PERSON probably has more upside as a pass rusher, but I mean, I'll take the three Super Bowls EVENT for sure.I'll take the unfettered leadership and the knack for making big-time plays and big-time games. For sure. Again, Dante PERSON high-tart. That's high praise because he is one of the more underrated linebackers in recent NFL ORG history. It's fantastic, man. It's going on, Jerome PERSON. So it indeed was the most transformative offseason in Vikings ORG franchise history. DeNeil Hunter gone, and Kurt Cousins is gone. And yes, once you move on from his starting quarterback, there's usually some transition involved. And yes, the Vikings ORG had some good times, bad times. You know, I had my share with Kurt Cousins and had some highs, had some lows. It is what it is. But the Vikings moved on and Kurt signed with the Falcons, four years,$180 million, $100 million guaranteed, and also a big penics in the first round. Can't wait to see how that develops. Anyways, but the Vikings moved on with a 21-year-old blonde named J.J. McCarthy PERSON. Yes, future franchise quarterback. So I feel like both sides are happy. Yeah, it's good times, man.Long story longer. So Harrison Phillips, who's been a great defensive line pick up, a great leader, great in the community as well. Harrison PERSON's heroes. I love picking him up from the Buffalo Bills as well as I really liked him at Stanford ORG. I wanted him in his draft from back in the day. But glad he landed in purple. And also, like, he led the NFL in tackles for loss last year. He had a career high in tackles and was just completely getting after it, a career high and snaps as well. And he was talking to NFL Network, NFL Total Access ORG, about what's going to be going on with the Vikings in the leadership vacuum that has been created by Kurt Cousins leaving. And this is what he said. Harrison Phillips hopes to prove that many parts of Minnesota GPE derive its leadership fromare greater than the sum of what Kurt Cousins took with him to Atlanta ORG. After six years as the Vikings leader, but really four. Cousins jumped ship to the Falcons, but Phillips there for the last two of those seasons DATE, I believe the club might actually, actually stand to approve as it compensates for his departure. Quote, there's going to be a huge loss. Phillips said Wednesday in NFL Total Access ORG.Kurt Cousins, as a person, as a leader, as a teammate, that's a big void in your locker room. One of the most humble guys that I've ever been around. Servant leader, just a great motivator. He's great. To ask one person to fill that void is probably not probable. So what we're going to do is have a great leadership team, which we've already seen. There's already guys that I've seen these last few seasons being on this rooster. Some are captains. Some are not captains yet, but will be in their careers. And so we're going to pass that torch off and kind of division of labor. We're going to all carry that load together. And maybe we can be a better football team for it. Kurt PERSON's obviously amazing. I've learned a lot from him and the leadership side of things, and that's an area I'm trying to step up and improve my game by working on those abilities of the Vikings Daycaptus ORG last year that actually lost a bit more than just a quarterback to Neil Hunter and Jordan Hicks PERSON.Also join new teams of free agency, Justin Franklin Jefferson, Harrison PERSON, Harrison Smith, Brian and Neil C.J. Ham, Josh Mattelis PERSON, Remain. And Phillips PERSON is the right. So once you lose an established veteran quarterback, like Kurt Cousins, who, I remember, he walked into a very heavily veteran-laden team in 2018. He's supposed to be that missing piece. He was supposed to be better than Case Keenum and take the Vikings to the Promise Land FAC. So it took a while for him to really fit him. And I would say post-Rona, like the last three seasons, like he had really been the team leader. Now, once you have a sea change there, it is going to take a village to completely lead the same. But, I mean, the Vikings are the last three seasons. I mean, they've lost a number of their leaders, whether it be Everson Griffin, whether it be Anthony Barr, whether it be Eric Hendricks and Dalvin and also Adam Thielen PERSON.So, I mean, the Vikings have lost a number of the guys that have been luminaries for a number of years. And it is what it is. And the Vikings ORG are going to be one of the youngest teams in the league. But the cupboard is not bare in terms of leadership. CJ Hamm PERSON, fullback as well as special teams captain still there, Justin frigging Jefferson PERSON stepping up, hopefully, with a much larger contract as a true blue leader of this team.Hockinson, Derisaw, Bradbury, O'Neill in that mix, Harrison Phillips, Josh Mattels, Harrison Smith PERSON. Also, I mean, veteran guys that have been around. Barrow Murphy's only been here for a year, but he could be a leader in the cornerback room. Aaron Jones PERSON has been around forever. Even though it's his first year with the team, frankly, I won't be shocked if he ends up wearing a captaincy.Ivan Pace Jr., even though it's only year two of him, I think that he showed a lot of true leadership capabilities last season, and I think that he could be one of the young leaders on this team. So I think that Philips PERSON is right, like it is going to take a little bit of adjustment and some other guys step up. Also, don't sleep on J.J. McCarthy and Sam Darnold PERSON. So Sam Darnold, the 26th, has been around the block. And yes, he's finally on a team that hassome talent and some good coaching. So maybe he steps up as a leader. Or, I mean, J.J. McCarthy, like one of his main intangibles is leadership. And just because he's 21, I mean, J.J. McCarthy, like one of his main intangibles is leadership. And just because he's 21, I mean, doesn't mean that he can't fully lead this team. I mean, look at C.J. Stroud with the Texans last year and now. I mean, there's no question who the leader, who the alpha, who the leader of that Wolfpack ORG is. And it is C.J. Stroud PERSON. So I do think that J.J. McCarthy PERSON has that mentality as well. And frankly, if he breaks training camp as the starting quarterback, he earned that job over Darnold and Mullins and Jaron Hall PERSON, I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up wearing the captain C because it's weird when your starter isn't the captain, right? It's kind of weird. But either way, yeah, I mean, Kurt PERSON eventually established himself as the true leader of this team and the Vikings ORG were going to follow him anywhere. Kirkco chains and all that stuff. But, I mean, time, it's time to move on. And frankly, I think the next leader of this team is in that same position. I think that McCarthy PERSON has so many of the soft skills, so many of the intangibles, and it's not BS. Maybe it's a little bit raw, raw, sis, boom, bah. But I think that he's a guy that can lead by his example. I think that he's a guy that can lead on the field.I think that he is a true leader of men. But for the time being, I'm with Phillips PERSON. Like, I think it will take a bit of a division of labor.

Speaker 21664.34s - 1665.38s

It's going on to Rome GPE's.

Speaker 01665.38s - 1947.38s

So compensatory picks are certainly interesting for the Minnesota Fighting Vikings ORG. And with the vikes through various trades in the draft, potentially ideally supplementing and maybe even banking on racking up and stacking up a couple of compics, it does make sense. And compensatory pick basics basically expiring contracts are the only ones that matter. And if you lose more free agents than you sign, you could be in line for some compensatory picks on the back end of the third through seventh rounds. And the Vikings, after losing Kurt Cousins, an expiring contract to the Falcons, and Daniel Hunter, an expiring contract to the Texans ORG. The Vikings ORG, even though they were hard on the paint on free agents,Aaron Jones PERSON doesn't count because he was cut, but Cashman, Van Ginkle, Grenard PERSON, etc. You think that the Vikings ORG could potentially still be in line for some comp pick love. And then it came out this week that, hey, oh, no, the Vikings ORG effed this up because they signed Shaq Griffin to a one year $4.55 million deal. Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. And Nick Horte over at, uh, over the cap. So they do a very good job at projecting what's going to go on with the compenster picks. Now, it's a proprietary formula. The league keeps it under wraps, but over the cap does a very good job at reverse engineeringit and basically trying to figure out what goes on. So not only does money matter, snap counts, accolades, all that stuff goes into this too, right? So all the talk this week is that the Blackings lost on potentially a third round pick with Danielle Hunter because of the signing of Shaq Griffin PERSON. And of course, this is really just more an exercise of the national media to run here because it's just being ridiculous yet again. So this is what over the cap has and the signing of Shaq Griffin basically canceling out some picks and the Vikings lose that third rounder, which the Vikings beforehand on their charts were getting two thirds, one for Kurt and also one for Danila Hunter PERSON. And Corte went on a long diatrived to explain what went on with Shaq Griffin PERSON.And, of course, everyone's question is like, oh, hey, hey, Quasi PERSON, why did you lose a third-round pick because of Shaq Griffin PERSON? Because he couldn't wait, all that stuff. Of course, everyone's taking shots at the Vikings, Seth Walder, ESPN ORG. Oh, wow, this is a really bad job by the Vikings ORG. Please, please, please, please. But Ben Gasseling Star Tribune long story longer, I just like, not Walder, ESPN. Oh, wow, this is a really bad job by the Vikings ORG. Please, please, please, please, please. But Ben Gasling Star Tribune, long story longer. I just like, not so fast, my friend. So on the Vikings ORG' comp pick situation, I'm told the team was always expecting one, an only one, third round pick next year from losing Kurt Cousins. The Vikings figured Jonathan Granard's deal would cancel out DeNeil Hunter's PERSON contract. They never expected two-thirds. So the whole talk of, well, the Vikings had Jonathan Grenard's deal would cancel out to Neil Hunter's contract. They never expected two thirds. So the whole talk of, well, the Vikings had two thirds, except then they signed Jack Griffin to a one-year minimal deal. And then it canceled out the extra third. The entire narrative didn't sit right with me. Like, it didn't smell right because this is literally spreadsheet work. Do you think that Quasi dofemza PERSON is going to screw up something on a spreadsheet?Nah, no, no, no, no. So that really didn't hold any water for me. And continue. As I understand, the Shaq Griffin signing on March 19th came after the Vikings had already estimated that they get only one, not two third rounders next year. They determined he would cost him a second third because they never expected to have one in the first place. If Griffin PERSON plays enough, it's possible heat factor into the calculations for a laterround compic, but the Vikings ORG projections had already ruled out the possibility of a second third before they signed Griffin PERSON. So the whole thing about it, too, is like the formula, it's underwraps, proprietary, all the league knows what's up. And also, they make periodic changes to the formula. So maybe the Vikings ORG are privy to changes in the formula that, you know, the public and over the cap is not.Right. And also, what's the most frustrating about this is that, you know, everyone is dancing on Quasi PERSON's grave here. Just like, oh, see, the Vikings ORG just effed up again. All that stuff. But we're not even going to know until next March when they disperse compics. And everyone will forget about it.But everyone's going to run with the narratives. Oh, the Vikings ORG screwed up again. Oh, they lost the third round pick because of Sonshack Griffin PERSON, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. It's ridiculous, man. But, again, I trust Quasi PERSON with stuff like this. Because, again, this is literally just math. And I do trust Quasi PERSON. So I think at the end of the day, the Vikings will have their one-third with Kurt cousins. And it's going to help supplement them being bereft of draftics next year because of various trades. But Quasi did not give up the future first, by the way. So it's no big deal. But, of course, any excuse for the national media, Jibroni PERSON haircuts to take a swipe at the Vikings and Quasi PERSON, but it's okay. Everything's going to be all right. Rock a bye.

just wrapped up his third draft in charge of the bikes.

And around the league, Quasi PERSON, I'm sure, is seen as the Wall Street guy, the spreadsheet guy, the analytics guy. Actually, the Pythagrum theorem on that draft pick is blah, blah, blah, blah. So that's how people around the league see Quasi PERSON. Now, it's a departure from Prite Rike Spielman PERSON, who was a scout, scout, and whatnot, just hoarded his seventh round picks and always traded down 17 bazillion CARDINAL times. And, you know, so far, you know, through two drafts, I mean, Quasi definitely was a big part of trading down, trade in division with the Lions ORG, trade in division with the Packers. But Quixie PERSON really established himself this draft and completely blew everyone away, making three trade-ups in the draft secure J.J. McCarthy and Dallas Turner. And Quacy evidently got that dog in him. That's right. Long story longer. So ESPN ORG put up to put together a draft tidbits, a little piece, little notebooks talking about things. And yeah, Quasi PERSON definitely surprised a lot of people around the league. Vikings' GM Quasi kept the league guessing with his big day one trade. No, not to move up for J.J. McCarthy. Some people with Jacksonville were surprised when the Vikings looked at trade up from 23 into the teens, eventually swapping a sizable hall for Jacksonville's 17th pick, a fifth rounder, as well as third and fourth round, 225, greatly diminishing Minnesota's draft a year from now. Oh, sizable, diminishing, please. If the Lions have made this move, if the Chiefs have made this move, if the Niners ORG have made this move, it'd be like, Oh, build a shrine to Brad Holmes and Brett Beach and John Lynch PERSON, respectively. Ah, please. Adolpha Menza PERSON with analytical background, played to his reputation early in his tenure, the first two moves of his first two drafts were tradebacks, including a significant jump from 12 to 32, with division rival Detroit, 2022.But over the past two months, Adolfoetsa went all ran to move up three times, twice while on the clock to secure McCarthy PERSON in Alabama past Richard Dallas Turner PERSON. I had to think twice because, don't think twice, it's all rad. Because I had him pegged as a volume guy when it came to draft pick said an AFC executivewhose team had correspondence with the Vikings ORG on draft. Correspondence? Like, uh, uh, Deerous prudence. Uh,our war wedges on. Um, please. Uh, blah, blah, blah, it looks like he shifted his thinking to where the reality is,it's hard to win without players you can build around, which I don't know, I feel like a lot of, uh, GMs around the league were just sort of blown away by Quasi because if you look at Quaise PERSON's draft history, so yes,I mean, that 2022 draft, we'll call it a learning experience and, you know, trading down 20 spots from 12 to 32. I know that the modern charts love it. I know that the old school like Jimmy Johnson type charts hate it, but bottom line, you move down far without getting a future first rounder, which, nah, nah. Trade now with the Packers, I don't mind that at all. It picked up two second rounders for the cost of one. And thenhe did have a small trade-up with the Colts to get to 42 for Andrew Boote Jr. PERSON then also had a small trade out later on with the Raiders.. 2023, so the Vikings ORG generally stood pat. So they took Addison, then they made a trade-down from 87 to acquire three picks with the Niners ORG. They traded down with the Chiefs to get a future fifth. And then they made a small trade-up with the Colts again in 2023, picking up Jaquail and Roy in the fifth round. And then 2024 came around and Quasi PERSON went after, man. So the pre-draft trade with a, oh, by the way, all these draft day trades are with draft picks. So, you know, we're not talking about, oh, they swapped a seventh for Jalen Rager PERSON. Nah, I ain't talking about that. But moving aggressively to get the Texan's first round pick, giving up 42, 188, and afuture second. So that was already out of character, and a lot of people saw that. He's like, hey, he's gathering ammunition to move up into the top three, which certainly was an option. And that's what I love about Quasi PERSON's moves, becausehe gave himself options. And then it made the small move up with the jets to box out stupid as Sean Payton to get J.J. McCarthy PERSON. And then the move up to Jackson with Jacksonville from 23 to 17. Yes, he gave up 167. Yes, he gave up a future third and fourth. But also at the end of the day, who occurs? You end up with Dallas Turner. You end up with J.J. McCarthy with these three tradeups. And I kind of like it. Because at the end of the day, hey, volume is great. Volume is great.I mean, Spielman was very famous for eventually ending up with 10, 12, 14 picks, especially all in the seventh round. I get that, but Quacy, Quacy definitely got that dog in him. Like, Quacy definitely threw all the preconceived notions about him aside and was aggressive and got after. It's like, oh, did he pay too much? Bottom line, and McCarthy is him and Dallas Turner is the guy. Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, man. It's going on to Rome's raw, real car rant, Sands PERSON video. So I wish there was a name for the medium of a YouTube ORG video, but no video, just audio. Like, what's it called when people just talk sports in audio form? Someone should come up with a name for that. Anyways, so Minnesota Timberwolves ORG fever has completely taken over. It will reach pandemic levels in the great state of Minnesota GPE, which is fantastic. And I'm really happy for longtime suffering Timberwolves fans who had to put up with a lot of bad basketball, like Roshonezschevich and Luke Ridenauer, Rashad McCants PERSON. It just Michael Beasley PERSON. It just wasn't good for a long time. But the Timberwolves ORG have a legit superstar in Anthony Edwards, aka baby Michael Jordan PERSON.Also, you know, Anthony PERSON is never escaping these son of Michael Jordan PERSON allegations until, like, Mori gets involved. You are the father.Carl Anthony Towns, Cat PERSON hasn't gotten enough, love. Because this used to be Kat PERSON's team. The number one overall pick way back in the day. And then Edwards PERSON came on board. He stepped aside. He adjusted his role. They learned how to play together. Then Gobert PERSON came in, and he adjusted his role. They learned how to play together. Carl Anthony Towns could have asked for a trade out of town 17 bazillion times. But he's a true team player. He is a chameleon. He does whatever the team needs. And I was super happy that he got to shine in game two. All right. So, long story longer, what do the wolves have to do with the Vikings ORG? All right. So the wolves right now, up 2.0, allegedlyhave the alleged MVP coming in their building game 3 on Friday night. And you just know Target Center just going to be loud and proud, just giving Jamal Murray PERSON the business. Like, the NBA was going to suspend him for him being a douche game two. But they're like, your punishment must be more severe. So now he has to play all 48 minutes of game 3 and 4.Sweep. Also, Jokich PERSON. You think that the Target FAC center crowd is going to be giving Jokich PERSON his flowers, sarcastically calling him MVP. Every time Ant PERSON does something good, the real MVP, MVP, MVP. It's going to be great. So, what does this happen to do the Vikings ORG? Number one, so the Vikings have been going through this competitive rebuild. And, you know, Quasi, Kevin O'Connell, they've done quite well, and they've set themselves up for the future, a ton of cap space. They've gotten to be one of the youngest teams in the league. They have young stars and young potential stars at all the key positions, and you're good to go, right? And it's really hard to completely change the course of a boat so i i'm sure that in a private moment like quacy would have preferred just to completely bottom out in 2022 and then rebuildfrom the ashes but that's not good business and you could say whatever you want about the wilf's no owner is going to sign off on that. Just not. But won the Division in 2022. It would have won the Division in 2023 of Kurt PERSON's hand and popped his Achilles. But they moved on from Kurt PERSON. They moved out from Deerex and Thielen and Delvin and Barr PERSON and basically everyone. Like lots of veterans had been out the door. And now the Vikings led by Justin Frigin Jefferson PERSON. You got James McCarthy PERSON. You got Dallas Turner, Addison, Derrissaw, Hawkinson PERSON, baby. Youth all over the place. Brian Flores PERSON, building an absolute bully on that side of the ball. There's a lot to like. And they should take some inspiration from the Timberals ORG. Because it used to be in the NBA ORG that there was rungs on the ladder that you had to climb. So first you win your division. And first you get to the conference semifinals and then the finals. And then eventually the conference finals, then the NBA finals EVENT. And then you lose a couple times and you finally break through. It's like the Lakers had to get through the Celtics ORG. And then the Pistons had to get through the Lakers ORG, and then the Bulls had to get through the Pistons ORG, and then eventually the Lakers ORG and whoever, right? And that's how it used to be. It's not that way anymore. The wolves legitimately could come in, like a lightning bolt, and win the NBA title this year. Remember, they were knocked down in the first round last year. And won a playoff series that's like 04, right? Well, unless it count the play in game, which... But that's the new NBA ORG.And that's always how the NFL ORG has been And I know people Our bank is like, oh, well, you know, give Jay McCarthy PERSON some time to Marinate and then maybe he'll step up and then he'll be good And then give the young guys and give him time Why not be good now?Hmm? Why not be good now? Because, yes, the Vikings ORG are young in all the right places And also they're talented in all the right places, and also they're talented in all the right places. And the fact that you look at CJ Stroud last year, maybe having one of the best rookie quarterback seasons of basketball history, I understand that's an anomaly. But if J.J. McCarthy PERSON goes into camp, wins this job. He's going to be surrounded by talent, and also has coaches who are not going to put him in bad spots. And McCarthy PERSON, McCarthy is a weird dude, but he's built different. Like he, unabashedly, will put the team first. He will do whatever the team needs. He will not make mistakes. He will not be the reason that you lose. And I think that has a ton of value, especially when he's surrounded by Jefferson and Addison and Hawkinson PERSON, all this talent. So the Vikings ORG out of the gate, whether it's Sam Darnold or whether it's J.J. McCarthy PERSON, I think you're looking at a top 10 offense. Defensively, so the wolves in an offense league have built maybe the best defensive basketball team since what? The 08 Celtics, the early 2000s, Larry Brown Pistons, Ben Wallace PERSON and company. The wolves play completely asinine defense, and I mean that in the best way possible. They got length all over the floor. Gober is a four-time defense player of the year. Kat and Nas PERSON. And also, you know, everyone said, you can't play three bigs in the modern NBA ORG.Watch us. Watch us. Hmm. And the fact that Naa, McDaniels PERSON, Edwards, Connolly PERSON, Anderson PERSON. Nas and Cat, Edwards, Connolly, Anderson.Nas and Cat 2 are just insane perimeter defenders. Insane. And I mean, Jay McDaniels doesn't get his props enough, where defensively, he's already Scotty Pippen. Doesn't have the offensive game of Scottie Pippen PERSON quite yet. Isn't as well-rounded and may not ever be that point forward that Pippin PERSON was.But defensively, so Jay McDaniels listed as a power forward. He can guard point guards. He can guard wings. He can guard in the post. He can do whatever you need. That insane wing span, those long-ass arms, is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Edwards PERSON is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league. Edwards PERSON is one of the best ball defenders in the league. Gobert is the best defensive center in a generation. But other than that, hmm.So getting back into the Vikings ORG. So Flores PERSON, building a bully on that side of the ball. Yes, they lost De Neal PERSON. Yes, they lost Wannum PERSON. Yes, they lost Wannum. Yes, I lost Marcus Davenport PERSON. But bringing in Jonathan Ginnard PERSON,Andrew Van Ginkle, who had a ton of success of Miami under Flores PERSON. Also, Jihad Ward, Blake Cashman PERSON outside. How about that? Shaq Griffin PERSON. Jerry Tilleri, former first-round pick. I love what the Vikings ORG have done defensively. And also, you had Kyrie Jackson PERSON in the draft. You add Dallas-Frican Turner PERSON in the draft. LDR ORG senior sack is going to be great. Gabriel Murphy, Dwight McLaughern PERSON. This team, defensively, people forget. I mean, they moved into like around 13th, 14th in the league defensively. That is a massive jump from 31st last year. And also that includes towards the end of the season when teams, I don't want to say they caught up to the defense, but I feel like eventually you run out of bodies and you run out of steam. I think that's what happened in the last couple of games. Basically the fourth quarter of the Bengals ORG game on.I mean, the defense would just sort of whatever. But Flores PERSON now, it's pretty clear that he's going to be here for a while, and he's getting his guys, and he has a true talisman on the edge in Dallas Turner. This defense is going to be legit, man. This defense is going to be scary as hell. It's going to be as good as the wolves defense. And they're going to do it in a unique way.Like I said, everyone's scoffed that saying that the wolves can play three bigs. Everyone's scoffing saying that, oh, well, the Vikings ORG don't have a true nose tackle. They're too light. They're too small. Yeah, just watch us. Just watch the defense because I've always felt like Kevin O'Connell wants a defense like the 2006 Colts ORG,where 2006 Colts had Dwight Frini, Rachine Mathis PERSON, undersized guys who just got after it, and the defense was designed to play with the lead. It wasn't designed to be, you know, three yards in a clouded dust, shut you down, you know, stop, you know, stop 22 dive, you know, with the in a cloud to dust shut you down, you know, stop, you know, stop 22 dive, you know, with the tailback and the fullback now. Wasn't that?It was designed to, hey, Peyton Manning and this offense is going to get a 10, 14, 17 point lead. You're going to get one-dimensional, and we're going to bring the heat. Now, offensively, I don't care if it's Donald PERSON. I don't care if it's McCarthy PERSON. This team is going to bring the heat. Now, offensively, I don't care if it's Donald. I don't care if it's McCarthy. This team is going to put up points. And ideally, this team is going to have a lead. And also, Kevin O'Connell is not just going to ease up on the gas. Oh, we're ahead by 10 points of the first quarter. I guess we've better take a knee. No. What this team is going to do is they're going to get a lead and the defense is go play ass downhill, and they're going to get after that ass, man.I love it. And also just the swagger that comes from the Timberwolves ORG, you can tell they're having so much friggin' fun out there. They're playing for each other. There's no egos. There's no hard feelings. And there could be. Like I said, I mean, Cat PERSON could have had every single right rightfully so to justifiably ask his way out of town but he stayedand he adapted and he's a team leader and he came back from mniscus surgery man and he is a big reason why the wolves are looking so dangerousand for the Vikings ORG I mean the elephant in the room is gone. And Kurt Cousins, he was a great quarterback with Kevin O'Connell, played the best ball of his career. But it always came down to money with Kurt PERSON, as Evans by him leaving for a couple more pieces of silver to the Falcons ORG, who then drafted Pettenham PERSON.Does Terry Fontno know that Julie's from Georgia? Well, why would he do that? But he's gone. And now it's all about the team. And there's always questions about whether or not Kurt Cousins could win the big game or not. I don't think there's any questions about J.J. McCarthy PERSON.Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa. I mean, his team just dragged him to. Okay. Did McCarthy PERSON make mistakes that lost his team games? Did McCarthy, well, maybe don't count the TCU ORG game. Did J.J. McCarthy PERSON do what it took to win? Or do you think J.J. McCarthy would have traded in his undefeated national championship season for big-time stats and, you know, four, five, six losses like some of the other quarterbacks had in the draft this year.Nah. Kids a winner. Also, you wouldn't associate swagger with J.J. McCarthy PERSON, but he's got confidence. And I feel like that's contagious. And also, taking a cue from your superstar, Edwards and JJ PERSON are cut from a very similar cloth. They have fun. They're going to beat your ass with superior talent, and they'regoing to smile, they're going to laugh at you, and they're just going to have a good time, and they're going to energize their teams. And JJ, Justin Friggin' Jefferson, is now the face of the team. He has been, but now it truly, truly, truly is his team. I mean, he's going to be like one of the elder statesmen now. And he wears that Captain C on his chest with pride. And he understands that that comes with weight. That comes with responsibility. And all he wants to do is win. And I feel like everyone's sleeping on the Vikings ORG team. Like I haven't felt this good about a Vikings team in many, many years. Because not only are they going to be good immediately this year, they're going to be good for many, many years to come.So I respect the vision that Quasi and Kevin O'Connell had assembling this team. It's very similar to the vision that Conley and Finch PERSON had this team. It's all about culture. And when the culture shifts from a loose collection of individuals, a bunch of mercenaries, a bunch of 1099ers ORG. Once you get a team, magical things can happen. The wolves are a team. The 2024 Minnesota Vikings ORG are a team. And they're going to play fun, exciting, fast and free football. That's going to be great. Also, if it when the wolves rip this thing off, win the NBA ORG title, bring a sweet, sweet taste of victory back to the Great City of Minnesota GPE,it's going to raise expectations. And that's going to carry over to the Vikings ORG as well. Because, hey, you know it's better than a championship parade in June, a championship parade in February. It's going on to Rome GPE. So we here in the great state of Minnesota are in that golden period DATE,a stretch of about three to four weeks of beautiful spring slash summer weather where it's gorgeous out. The heat is off. There's no mosquitoes yet. And you can sleep with the windows open. So I got the window open right now.And I've heard no less than four jets and a helicopter go by. Should I be concerned? Like, is this to start a red dawn? Wolverines ORG! I'm with you, J.J. McCarthy. Or is this like chem trails? They're turning Wolverines. I'm with you, JJ McCarthy. Or is this like chem trails? They're turning the frogs. I don't know, man. But you're Minnesota to find Vikings ORG' offensive line. So for a long time, I mean, we Vikings ORG fans have had issues to be the offensive line. Espema PERSON ignores the offensive line. Quasi PERSON, what are you doing?Everything starts and ends up front in the trenches. And it's just like, hey, if we would have gotten Harbaugh, maybe this wouldn't have been an issue. But you do have some 10-pole pieces. Christian Frigandarissa PERSON is going to be one of the best left tackles in the game, knocking on all the wood if he stays healthy. Brian O'Neill PERSON getting up there in age, but it's still one of the best right tackles in the game. For my money, he's top five, six in that range.Bradbury PERSON remains. And Blake Brandel is penciled in at the left guard spot with the departure of Dalton Reisner and the Vikings resigning Blake Brandl to a pretty sizable three-year contract. And also Ed Ingram, former second-round pick in year three, hopefully can make that leap. He greatly improved last year, which I know, maybe that says more about his 22 rookie season DATE. I don't know. But the Vikings do have options along the offensive line of what's going to happen with Guard. You do have Ed Ingram, like we said, in year three. Hopefully he shapes up Blake Brandel PERSON. Tough to handle Blake Brandel PERSON. That's right. So former left tackle out of Oregon State ORG. In the 2020 draft. And obviously, you know, Chris Cooper and company really do like Brandel PERSON. They believe in him. And they see him as a backup who could play all four spots. And now he has an opportunity to crack the starting lineup. Also, yeah, the Vikings ORG didn't invest heavily along the offensive line. But in terms of specifically interiors, you have Michael Juergens in the seventh round, played three years of center at Wake Forest and also played one year at left guard. And it was PFF's number four graded guard in the country, which is pretty good. There you go. Also, Walter Rouse, so for me, Walter Rouse is a tackle, but Quasi PERSON has already talked about kicking him inside. I don't know.I don't know, man. I just don't know. Also, you do have a 6'6 guard out of Georgia, Georgia in the great state of Minnesota GPE. And I was told by Austin Rivers that all NBA players can play in the NFL ORG or something like that. I don't know, man. But the Vikings ORG, so overall, Ezra Crian, so the Vikings, I feel relatively okay about the interior offensive line plan. Now, yes, would have been awesome to land like a Cooper Beebe PERSON in the mid-rounds, a guy that can plug and play as a starting guard, sure, or would have been nice. Now, don't get me wrong, I love me some Dan Feeney PERSON. I love the mullet. He's not starting material. He's a decent utility backup. He's basically taken over the role of Austin Schlutman, and that has value, right? But the Vikings and free agency, like there weren't even, there wasn't even necessarily interest of a guy who could step in and potentially start right away. And it sort of is what it is. So it also says a couple things. Like A, they believe in the development of Ed Ingram, like we said, former saccaron pick of Quasi PERSON. So Quasi obviously has some skin in the game as well, but also the resigning Blake Brandel PERSON. And like we said, maybe Chris Cooper and company do have big belief in Blake Brandl PERSON. But I do think that Juergens PERSON could potentially content from one of the starting guard spots. I think that eventually the plan is going to be him starting at center for Garrett Bradbury PERSON, passing the torch. Again, Rouse PERSON, which they've talked about, potentially kicking inside.I would prefer if he stays a tackle because he hasn't played a single down inside. And he does have great footwork. He is athletic, and he would be a very good and solid swing tackle to take over for David Quisemberry eventually because Queesemberry PERSON is old. And then the UDFA's, I mean, Jeremy Flax PERSON, I mean, they're going to try and kick inside. We'll see Matt Sindrick, former center from Cal ORG.You know, Doug Nestor from West Virginia, Virginia Tech ORG could also kick inside too. Plus, you got Henry Bird and Tyrese Robinson, two guys from futures contract, sure. But I do kind of believe the reports that the Vikings ORG are going to see what happens at rookie camp. I think that they're going to try Juergens PERSON out at both guard spots as well as center, as well as OTAs, getting these guys on the field and seeing how they stack up first team, second team, third team. And it could be a spot too. I mean, the Vikings ORG are in a bit of aholding pattern right now with Dalton Reisner. Now, reportedly, they haven't had an offer on the table. Risner PERSON hasn't had any interest from other teams either. Remains a free agent after the draft for the second year in a row, which is certainly interesting. But I think it's a spot where they're going to assess. I mean, can Blake Brandl make that leap into the starting lineup? Can Ed Ingram PERSON improve in year three to be a, at least replacement level guard? Or can he improve? What about Juergens? What about Rouse PERSON? Can Rouse actually kickinside and provide some depth of competition, possibly? Or, I mean, if things don't look great during OTAs EVENT, which knocking on all the wood, I hope is not the case, or at the start of training camp, things are still kind of dicey, Do they get Risenor PERSON on the horn? And it's like, hey, Dalton PERSON, roadhouse. 1.5 million or something like that. Or, I mean, the Vikings ORG could look in the free agent guard market, but it is very thin. It is very soft. It is marshmallow. I mean, Gloewinsky, Gates PERSON, could bring Chris Reed PERSON back, except he's not starting caliber. Trey Turner, who, you know, we've talked about for many years. Max Sharping PERSON's been passedaround a little bit. Gabe Jackson PERSON, even though he's certainly a little bit longer in the tooth. Wyatt Davis, no matter what. Why Davis is only 25? And Quasi PERSON loves him some, Mama, I can change him type players, even though he had his opportunity. It doesn't matter. But I do think that the Vikings ORG, the Vikings are, so it's like the wide receiver room, and it's like the cornerback room where there's a lot of question marks, except there's a lot of talent that could step up. Would it shock me at all if Michael Juergens PERSON wins a starting spot out of training campand preseason into the regular season? No. I think that Jurgens PERSON is competitive enough. I think that he does have that pedigree. I think that he's got great movement skills. I think that he does bring some experience to the table. And I think that he could step in. I think he could supplant Blake Brandle PERSON. I think that he could supplant.
