Speaker 575.34s - 86.32s

Welcome in to the PHNX D-Bax Post-game show, which apparently I I have to host because Derek Montia PERSON is out of commission.

Speaker 186.32s - 87.08s

I need this motherfucker tonight.

Speaker 587.36s - 90.52s

Oh, sorry. Oh, my God.

Speaker 190.52s - 91.52s

Speaker 591.62s - 99.08s

He's holding the swear jar for those of you and joining us on audio. I brought, yeah, for those of you that are on audio, I have lots of money tonight.

Speaker 199.38s - 100.72s

So, Jesse PERSON, we're covering.

Speaker 5101.92s - 160.2s

We're just going to be doing this into the swear jar tonight because why is everything terrible? Okay, welcome in to the PHNX ORG Diamondbacks podcast right here on PHNX. My name is Derek Montia PERSON occasionally known as someone that forgot what happiness feels like. This man next to me, far more reasonable. Still your vice mayor and still my thunder stick. The one and only jesse friedmanoh jesse i don't even know where to start uh with this one tonight because what uh what what what what do we do what are we doing here the arizona diamond backs lose tonight's game to the seattle mariners by a count of six to one but that by far is not the biggest loss. The biggest loss here is the fact that Zach Gallen exited tonight's game after throwing just 64 pitches with right hamstring tightness. And do we just, do we just forfeit?I mean, what do we do?

Speaker 1160.32s - 161.76s

Just got to call it a season at this point.

Speaker 2161.76s - 165.82s

What do we do? When we run out of players, What do we do with that point?

Speaker 0165.9s - 166.98s

Go out with eight men?

Speaker 5167.72s - 172.82s

Oh, man. Feels like we're playing with eight men with the way this thing, especially the offense is going.

Speaker 1173.62s - 222.02s

Zach Gallen is the third Diamondback starting pitcher in the last week to either be scratched as Merrill Kelly was or to exit early as Ryan Nelson did a week ago today. It has been brutal. This has been a brutal week for the Arizona Diamondback. They have won a couple of games, but it's been just brutal from an injury standpoint. Not just at the big league level, Derek, but we found out about some injuries happening in the minors today as well, which we'll get to later that are also not great news for this organization. But I will give some positive news here, Derek, which is that Steve Gilbert PERSON, who is covering this game for MLB.com out in Seattle, said that per debaX manager, Tori Lavello, Zach Gallen PERSON had a spasm in his hamstring. They think he will be fine, but they will continue to evaluate him, which I don't believe you.

Speaker 5222.14s - 225.76s

I don't believe you. Your skepticism is understandable.

Speaker 0226.18s - 242.54s

We also heard fairly positive initial updates about pretty much everyone else who is now on the injured list of this Diamond Vax ORG team. I remember when Paul Seawald PERSON was mysteriously out in spring training with what I think Tori Lavello PERSON deemed like normal body soreness, I believe.

Speaker 5242.54s - 243.26s

Akes, yeah.

Speaker 1243.26s - 244.9s

Yeah, like normal body aches.

Speaker 5244.9s - 247.34s

Which I said that I can relate to very much.

Speaker 1247.44s - 249.1s

So I have body aches every single day.

Speaker 5249.44s - 250.76s

They were not body aches.

Speaker 1251.06s - 293.9s

Yeah. And soon that those normal body aches for Paul Sewell wound up being an oblique strain that he has yet to return from at this point in the season. So, you know, some skepticism is always going to be warranted, as we've said in the past. The debacks are always going to represent these injuries as, you know, as positively can. They're not going to, you know, reveal any kind of underlying concerns until, you know, they have more clarity on what the outlook is. But it does seem possible that this was just a spasm as it was described. And that, you know, maybe there's a chance Zach Allen PERSON doesn't even miss a start. And that would be, that would be good. I mean, that would obviously be a happy ending to what felt like a very, very, very disastrous moment for the Diamondbacks in the sixth.

Speaker 5293.96s - 299.1s

Right up there with the Corbyn Carroll PERSON shoulder injury thing from last year where he just kind of bounces back.

Speaker 1299.3s - 387.6s

If Zach Gallen PERSON doesn't miss a start, then everything is okay. But I definitely need some OGs to get over tonight's game. And this show, of course, luckily is brought to you by our friends at OGs ORG. Shout out to OGs brands, the official sponsor of flavoring Fridays. Head on over to OGsBrands.com ORG to see their full lineup, including my favorite, their sleep edition gummy, as well as their two newest gummies, the OGs ORG naturals, and the big OGs.Find out where you can purchase. And I'm ready to just give it to this whole game jacob i know i usually wait a little bit longer but tonight's game gets the OG's performance to forget just the whole game gets the OG's performance to forget because holy shit i wish this game didn't happen it was a close one even though the diamondbacks never actually had a lead, thanks to Josh Rojas, who we spied on yesterday, knowing how good he's been with the Mariners. And it did not disappoint. The very first pitch of the game, Josh Rojas PERSON saw he hit for a home run, 95 mile per hour fastball that was hit a mile and Josh Rojas PERSON continues his tear with the Mariners continues to be one of their best offensive players and that's just incredible the diamondbacks just I mean it was they were doomed from the beginning right not only does Josh Rojas hit this home run but the diamond backs have not won a game one of a series since opening day.Yeah. Is that right? Correct.

Speaker 5387.74s - 391.56s

Is that? Can you back that up? Is that that can't be right?

Speaker 1391.56s - 409.6s

But it feels right because it always feels like in these series, it feels like every game or every time the Diamondbacks ORG are playing a game that they are behind. Even when the game just started, it feels like they're behind. And a lot of that is due to the fact that they've been losing these games out of the gate. Of course. They've been real close.

Speaker 5410.64s - 430.8s

I don't want to hear about your close. God damn it. First, some series openers. But no, they have not managed. They've not managed to do that. There was the first game of the giant series. They lost five nothings. That just sort of, you know, was what it was. First game of the Cub series, that was the Kevin Ginkle PERSON wild pitch that allowed Nico

Speaker 0430.8s - 458.18s

Horner to score from second base. That was a very winnable baseball game. Also, you consider a winnable baseball game earlier in the week against the Cardinals ORG on Monday when Brandon Fott PERSON was kind of cruising along. And then things didn't go so great late for the debaqacks. So yeah, they've been in they've been in some series openers, but yeah, they have not actually won one since opening day. By the way, Josh Rojas hitting 316. Oh hell yeah, with the 900 OPS.

Speaker 5459.38s - 471.08s

Miss you. Miss you. Tonight it was fun seeing him just from the getgo messing around with Catelle Marte before Marte's first at bat. But things did not stay fun after that.

Speaker 4471.46s - 512.86s

They quickly turned. Zach Gallant was not very good tonight. We eventually found out why I imagine that he wasn't feeling right in that hamstring. He did leave the game after throwing 64 pitches with right hamstring tightness. Five innings pitch, three hits, three runs, three runs loud, three earn runs, one walk, three strikeouts. He still gave the Diamondbacks ORG a fairly good outing despite the fact that he was getting hit very, very hard in this game. He was fairly lucky defensively with where some of the balls were being hit to, and luckily he was able to stay efficient, which allowed him even with the injury to go as long as he did. But yeah, they were, they were hitting Zach Allen PERSON all over the place.

Speaker 1512.86s - 591.4s

They really were. Yeah, nine out of the 15 batted balls against Zach Allen in this game were hard hit balls, so 95 or more off the bat. Mariners were making all sorts of hard contact. And as you said, that can work in your favor as long as they're going right at guys, then that's just going to make you, you know, an efficient worker, which is really what Zach Gallen PERSON was. I mean, he was where he'd alreadyfaced the first batter of the sixth inning. He had just walked Josh Rojas on four pitches when the hamstring injury happened. And at that point, he still only had 64 pitches working in the sixth inning. So he was remarkably efficient, but he wasn't particularly effective in this game. Zach Allen induced only two swings and misses all game, which granted only 64 pitches. This is, you know, he certainly would have continued on had the injury not happened. But he has never had a start in the majors where he only had two whiffs. His previous career low was three. So this was, yeah, this was not a good outing for Zach Allen PERSON. Even though his final line didn't look all that bad, I thought the eye test was worse than that. He was really missing his spots a lot early in the game. It just seemed like almost every fastball he threw was getting a whole lot of the plate and Mariners hitters were all over it. But yeah, you feel like the debacks would have had a better chance to win this game if gallon had stayed in

Speaker 0591.4s - 596.84s

and scott mcguff not been forced into that tough spot and uh the sixth inning after zach gallon

Speaker 5596.84s - 603.28s

departed this game did not go especially well for the diamond backs scott mcguff enters with a runner at first

Speaker 0603.28s - 606.04s

and one out he With nobody out I think

Speaker 1606.04s - 610.78s

Yeah with nobody else he didn't get the first out of the inning until about 15 minutes after that

Speaker 5610.78s - 618.92s

Yeah yeah yeah yeah he allows a single to Julio he walks Raleigh PERSON and then gives up the grand slam to Mitch Hanager

Speaker 1618.92s - 625.22s

Old old old friend old friend yeah Dback's legend Mitch Han. That made it a six to one Mariners lead,

Speaker 5625.38s - 630.32s

which they maintained for the remainder of the game. The Diamondbacks ORG offense, like, I want to get

Speaker 1630.32s - 637.4s

mad about that, you know, Scott McGuff PERSON. Scott McGuff is just bad. Scott McGuff is not good. He's not good. He's

Speaker 5637.4s - 642.42s

just not good. He was put in a tough spot tonight. So I'm not going to like sugarcoat it or I'm

Speaker 1642.42s - 646.08s

not going to do anything to like defend him but he was asked

Speaker 0646.08s - 650.3s

to come in without warming up and I mean they did let because of the injury they do allow him to

Speaker 1650.3s - 656.26s

throw as many inches as he wants to so if he could have had more time to warm up he didn't have to

Speaker 0656.26s - 713.26s

you know rush or anything there but I mean the diamond back's offense once again just goes completely silent and even if this game had stayed two to one and the bullpen was able to hold, you know, that lead, the Diamondback ORG's offense wasn't able to do much the rest of the game. I mean, at times, even when they had runners in scoring position, they ground into double plays. They grounded into three double plays in the first four innings, erasing all but one of their base runners. And yeah, like I said, going back to Scott McGuff, you, you, it's two things. And just like when you guys get on me about putting out the bullpen gift, I didn't do that tonight because it really didn't matter, right? It's like, yes, the bullpen sucked, but at the same time, the offense sucked. And Zach Gallen, giving up the two runs was enough to win this game for the Mariners. But, you know, McGuff PERSON, 7.303-30-eera 2.95 365 545 545 45 45 opponent slash line against him opponent is opponents are hitting nearly 300

Speaker 1713.26s - 720.66s

up Scott McGuff when is enough yeah McNuff PERSON I don't know where I was that was that might

Speaker 5720.66s - 725.46s

have been one of my favorite lines that you ever used because I don't know if I was expecting that.

Speaker 4725.76s - 728.3s

That wasn't one of my favorite lines you've ever used.

Speaker 5728.46s - 729.42s

That was terrible.

Speaker 4729.84s - 731.04s

That was our part of Gerald.

Speaker 1732.84s - 733.8s

I'm proud of that.

Speaker 5734.04s - 734.9s

That makes me proud.

Speaker 1735.58s - 737.6s

But one is enough, enough, Jesse PERSON.

Speaker 5737.6s - 745.04s

I mean, it really does feel like at this point the Diamondbacks ORG just don't, they're not in a position to turn anybody away because they don't have

Speaker 1745.04s - 749.28s

enough bodies at this point, especially if they lose gallon to fill up a lineup.

Speaker 4749.52s - 752.92s

They're going to need everybody that they can get, even guys that aren't performing well right now.

Speaker 1752.92s - 759.5s

Yeah, they said a just a mind-blowing fact at the end of this game, Steve Ruth Dume PERSON on the

Speaker 5759.5s - 759.86s

broadcast.

Speaker 1760.12s - 765.24s

He said that in the last four Diamondbacks wins, they have scored 48 runs,

Speaker 5767.24s - 767.42s

which is a lot of runs for four games.

Speaker 1767.82s - 767.94s

Oh, my God.

Speaker 3770.9s - 836.36s

And in their last five losses, they have scored eight runs. And it just continues this narrative that we've talked about for a while where this offense, to this point in the season, has been as Feast or Famine is just about anything that I've seen. It's either that everything is clicking and the Diamondbacks ORG are going to blow the other team to Smithereens, or it's going to look kind of like tonight where they just can't get anything going. You know, Kevin Newman hits the Homer PERSON.You know, that was a nice swing. But outside of that, you mentioned the three double plays in the first four innings. It just seems like the debacks ORG can't get out of their own way offensively. They're erasing the base runners that they do have. They're not getting enough guys on base in the first place. They're struggling to come through with big hits and big situations. And it's, it's been tough to watch. This offense for, man, I mean, their statisticsas a team offensively are just so not representative of the day-to-day reality of this offense right now. There have been those games where everything is clicked, but it feels like the vast majority of the time over these last couple weeks, it's looked something like this where they just couldn't really get anything going consistently.

Speaker 5836.36s - 865.66s

And I don't know because at times we've questioned Tori Lavello PERSON over managing maybe games or doing things latent games that put himself in a position, you know, obviously to have to struggle on who he was going to put in an extra innings, for instance, right? However, I think that, you know, we didn't really see him managing much in this game to try to get the offense going, try to bring in a pinch hitter or something like that.It was, you know, a pretty significant deficit after mcguff gives

Speaker 0865.66s - 886.1s

up that grand slam so yeah it really did feel like at that point uh it was kind of a rolling over and quitting a little bit troy lovallo PERSON had the little fight in him came out and argued you know with with the ump a little bit about scott mcguff getting the the automatic ball for apparently going to his mouth too many times as far as for like moisture on his

Speaker 3886.1s - 891.92s

fingers or whatever that was yeah yeah that was odd i mean they're just uh there there wasn't a lot

Speaker 0891.92s - 914.84s

of fight in this team offensively tonight it felt like i mean there was some good in all of this ugliness uh kevin newman hit a whole solo home run in the six that did make it a two one game and so at least there was a little bit of a dog in Kevin Newman. That was his second dinger of the year. Jock Peterson took some great at bats and walked twice and raised his OPS to 1017, which is great. And he's just been.

Speaker 1914.84s - 917s

He's been very good at the plate.

Speaker 5917.2s - 938.66s

But he's a guy that needs other people around him doing that. He needs Lourdes-Guriel to not be swinging at first pitch, you know, fastballs that he's way behind and popping them up, you know, automatically. Like, it's frustrating to see Catell and Jock PERSON putting together some good at bats and then the rest of the lineup really not.

Speaker 1939.16s - 1017.5s

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean, Cattel PERSON had a hit and walk in this game. Jock had two walks and hit by pitch. He was on base three times. Jock PERSON, if we want to talk about the positive side for, you know, something positive for the Diamondbacks in these first few weeks. It is that Jock Peterson PERSON has been everything you possibly could have imagined him being up to this point in the season. The bat quality has been fantastic. We've started to see some power from him in the last couple of weeks as well. His baseball savant page is bright red. But yeah, I mean, you can't make a lineup out of two guys right now, right? Yeah. And Lordus PERSON is certainly, I mean, by and large, he's been off to a pretty good start, but he hasn't really been clicking in the last week. Eugenio Suarez had a three hit game the other day. But outside of that, it seems like it's been an o-for every day for, you know, almost the last two weeks at this point. And Corbyn Carroll PERSON there just continues to struggle offensively. He had some more ugly at bats today. He did hit a ball very hard at one point in this game. I think he had the hardest hit ball in this game at 111 off the bat, a line drive that was right to the second baseman. So that was some tough luck there. But even still, you know, like you take that good with some of the bad from his otherat bats and it still doesn't quite look like the Corbyn Carroll we saw last year. What did we do?

Speaker 51018.26s - 1019.48s

What did we do to deserve this?

Speaker 11019.48s - 1021.44s

Unplug him and plug him back in.

Speaker 51021.44s - 1024.06s

What the fuck did we do to deserve this?

Speaker 11024.14s - 1025.74s

Let me start putting some dollar bills in here because I'm going to curse a lot. I just don't understand the fuck did we do to deserve this? Here, let me start putting some dollar bills in here

Speaker 41025.74s - 1026.58s

because I'm going to curse a lot.

Speaker 51026.98s - 1031.1s

I just don't understand what the fuck we did to deserve this. Why are we in this goddamn position?

Speaker 11031.1s - 1033.08s

Are you talking about Corbyn Carroll's PERSON struggle?

Speaker 51033.08s - 1087.52s

Just the Diamondbacks ORG at all? What did we do? Did we make some sort of deal with the devil to make it to the World Series last year? The devil's like, it's going to take all of your players' hamstrings next year.I don't know what's happening, but I can't stand how bad the Diamondbacks ORG luck is right now. Like, it's not even a matter of just the fact that the players who are healthy or shitty and cannot hit inexplicably. It's the amount of injuries. Like, this is insane. The Diamondbacks lost three of their starting rotation this week.If Kazan PERSON misses time. This week, Jesse PERSON. I just don't understand it. It's not fucking fair. And I don't want to give any more of my money to this jar. But God damn it, I will do whatever it takes.Take my hamstring. You can have my hamstring. Oh, God. Justin Martinez, he was fine tonight, two innings

Speaker 01087.52s - 1093.76s

pitch, three strikeouts. He's good. He was really good. He looks good. There's pieces of the bullpen

Speaker 41093.76s - 1098.82s

that look very good. They just don't all come out in the same night. And that's another frustrating

Speaker 01098.82s - 1110.88s

thing. And I don't know what to do about that. But what I do know is what we're going to do about the king snake because none of you sons of bitches deserve it, none of it. So who are we giving it to? Jacob, who are we giving it to?

Speaker 51111.78s - 1140.56s

We're giving it to Marvin Harrison Jr. One line hell. Let's go, baby. We got a generational talent on the Cardinals ORG and we're celebrating it. Those men over there, by the way, deserve all of their flowers. They have literally been podcasting for what feels like 24 fucking hours straight. And I cannot believe the job that Bobrack and Johnny Venerable PERSON, who I never get to see in person, who's actually here in studio right now.

Speaker 41140.62s - 1166.96s

He's a real person. He's a real person, not some sort of Disney automated robot or something, but they are actually here still broadcasting. I got here at like 3.30 this afternoon. They were doing the show then, and they're still doing it right now. So, congrats to them. Those guys, those guys probably deserve King Snake, maybe more than Marvin Harrison Jr. But no, we held the line. I mean, you know who deserves it? Damon PERSON, I wouldn't tell him that to his face. You know what I mean? Can I tell him?

Speaker 51167.28s - 1167.58s

No.

Speaker 41167.84s - 1168.2s

Why?

Speaker 51168.46s - 1170.26s

Because I don't want to put it. He gets a big.

Speaker 41170.26s - 1171.14s

Chad, can I tell David PERSON?

Speaker 51171.32s - 1181.56s

Really fast. Tell Damon in the Cardinals ORG chat. No, actually, tell him here. See, Elizabeth said, Elizabeth said Johnny PERSON's not a hologram. I don't even believe Johnny PERSON's a real person when I see him.

Speaker 41181.56s - 1187.78s

Open up a second YouTube tab on your computers right now. Go into the Cardinals chat and tell Damon PERSON he deserves the king snake.

Speaker 51187.9s - 1190.98s

Oh, no, don't do that. Don't do that. You're telling people to actively leave our show.

Speaker 41191.08s - 1223.04s

No, I said open up a second YouTube for six hours straight. I said open up a second YouTube tab. Okay, that's fine. But I think there is one other issue we need to address before we move on. I'm ready. I know you guys probably aren't ready.I mean, it's not statistically dead yet. But I think it's time that we put the purple hair in the grave. You want to put up the tracker? Let's do it. Oh, yeah, four games. You think you're going to win four straight?

Speaker 21223.24s - 1225.26s

I dare you to win four straight. Yeah, the Diamondbacks have to win the last four games. You think you're going to win four straight? I dare you to win four straight.

Speaker 51226.7s - 1231.68s

Yeah, the Diamondbacks have to win the last four games in April in order for Derek PERSON to dye his hair purple.

Speaker 21231.94s - 1236.44s

And that's unfortunate for the rest of us because that doesn't seem very likely at this point.

Speaker 11236.64s - 1237.5s

But who knows?

Speaker 51237.64s - 1237.98s

Who knows, Derek PERSON?

Speaker 41237.98s - 1240.44s

I don't have to spend a lot of money on Nutrafol PRODUCT.

Speaker 51240.74s - 1242.24s

Purple might be dead all around.

Speaker 41242.64s - 1243.06s

Yeah, purple.

Speaker 11243.26s - 1245.74s

The suns are down 16 right now. Oh, no. Suns are all around. Yeah, purple. The suns are down 16 right now. Oh, no.

Speaker 51246s - 1247.56s

Suns are down 16. No.

Speaker 11249.96s - 1250.56s

All right.

Speaker 51250.74s - 1254.36s

I'm done. You can, you want to do the average without me? You can just,

Speaker 11254.5s - 1261.18s

things in Arizona GPE sports aren't great right now. I mean, I guess, I guess Marvin Harrison, Jr. is,uh,

Speaker 01261.24s - 1261.5s

is,

Speaker 51261.5s - 1327.94s

is, is a good thing, uh, happening in Arizona GPE sports right now. But, yeah, there's not really, it's not really anything else. I will talk about Justin Martinez while I wait for Derek PERSON to come back on set here.Justin Martinez was very, very good today. And you still see, you still see glimpses every now and then of him, you know, throwing an uncompetitive pitch here or there. I still think there's still room for improvement with his command for sure. But two, two scoreless innings, three strikeouts, he didn't walk anyone. This was a really good outing for Justin Martinez PERSON. And I wonder, you know, the next time it's where Lavello PERSON finds himself in, you know, a tough spot where you got a gone base and nobodyout in the sixth inning and you're, you know, you're looking for a reliever to get you out of that, out of that jam. I wonder if Justin Martinez PERSON is in a spot where he's kind of you know rising up the totem pole and you know maybe we'll get a look at get a look in those situations because as we discussed earlier scott mcuff has really struggled in pretty much any situation this season it's been a really rough no scott mcuff PERSON has not struggled in any situation other than high leverage situations if you put scott mcuff in when they're down by six, he'll pitch an immaculate

Speaker 01327.94s - 1338.34s

inning. If you put him down with a 12-run lead, he will once again get you out of it with no runs and no hits scored. But if you put Scott McGuff PERSON in with the game on the line,

Speaker 51338.46s - 1375.66s

my man is going to give up a grand slam like he did tonight. And I don't, I can't explain it. Again, that's the yeah that's the frustrating part because it it is a matter sometimes of a mental game right and you have to wonder how much it is for not just Scott McGuff PERSON but a lot of the players on this team that can't seem to step up in the moment like it really does feel like a lot of them are lost and once they are to that point where they are frustrated,it just is a downward spiral for them, right? Like they just get to a point where, you know, you have so many guys in the lineup going 04 in the last couple of games.

Speaker 01375.94s - 1403.56s

And, you know, again, that's the very, very frustrating part. But then you see what Cattel PERSON has continued to do, even on a night where he went one for three, Cattel PERSON still had some very good at bats. Jock Peterson PERSON, nothing on the score. He's 0 for one tonightwith two walks, but the fact that and he's hit by a pitch, but Jack Peterson PERSON continues to find a way to be productive even if he's not having a night hitting. And that's what we need out of more of these players. And I mean, hopefully what we can see is

Speaker 51403.56s - 1425.4s

them have this pressure alleviate a little bit off of them because the more they start losing the more they start feeling this pressure from the injuries piling up and and the position that they're in it's that they're not going to get out of it they just can't get out of it but again yeah alish you're right this is all because perdoma went down everything everything has gone to darkness since Perdomo PERSON went down.

Speaker 41425.9s - 1432.06s

I think we really just need Jesse PERSON to admit that he means more to this team. He may

Speaker 51432.06s - 1437.04s

him be the most important player on the team. I have never said that Palo Pernomo PERSON is not an important,

Speaker 11437.24s - 1440.74s

a very important component of the diamond dives. Say he is the most important player on the team.

Speaker 41441s - 1446.32s

I will not say that because I do not think it is true. I don't even know if Damon, I don't even know of David PERSON.

Speaker 51446.32s - 1449.04s

I don't even know of Damon PERSON would be willing to go there.

Speaker 11449.46s - 1450.44s

He's important though.

Speaker 51450.52s - 1507.26s

He's really important because as we've learned, the Diamondbacks ORG don't have a reliable shortstop defensively. Who also can, you know, give you some reliable offense. It kind of feels like the debacks ORG are picking, or Toro Lavello PERSON is picking between Blaze Alexander and Kevin Newman PERSON. He's been sticking with Kevin Newman by and large recently. And, you know, Newman PERSON's on a great shortstop. I think he's, you know, at least fundamentally sound out there. But despite the homer that he hit today, I mean, Kevin Newman has a 577 OPS, you know, especially against right handers. You're not expecting a whole lot of offense there. And then Blaze ORG, for everything he's done for you offensively, the defense was really shaky early on. I think it's maybe shown some signs of improving, but Tori Lavello PERSON doesn't really seem willing at this pointto actually give Blaze everyday opportunities. And I can kind of understand why. I mean, there was a play even the other day that was important that, you know, Blaze ORG wound up committing an air. So

Speaker 11507.26s - 1511.64s

yeah, Perdomo PERSON has been a huge loss. No doubt about that.

Speaker 51512.3s - 1569.7s

Not in the mood.

Speaker 11595.98s - 1599.34s

I'm not in the mood. Of course.

Speaker 51600.02s - 1600.44s

Baritone PRODUCT?

Speaker 41600.58s - 1606.02s

Is that Baritone PRODUCT? I went Baratone PRODUCT. I went deep. Berre, Puerto Rico GPE. Like a Disney ORG. It's more base, too, but. Yeah, I went baritone. I went deep. Berto Rico, like a Disney.

Speaker 51608.1s - 1609.78s

It's more based, too, but I can. I have range.

Speaker 41610.06s - 1651.46s

I have range. But, of course, I also make sure to trust my money with our friends over at Desert Financial ORG. I have for a very, very long time because that's, I'm old. Speaker 11651.82s - 1653.1s

And the sons are going to lose.

Speaker 51654.04s - 1666.28s

Oh, I don't. Look, right now, I have the guilt of what's happening with the Diamondbacks ORG heaped on me. I don't need another beat, another franchises losing heaped upon me right now.

Speaker 41667.34s - 1673.62s

Oh, God, that's not good. Well, I don't want to know those numbers, but I do want to take a look at the numbers from tonight.

Speaker 01673.66s - 1676.4s

Well, I don't really want to take a look at these numbers either.

Speaker 41676.4s - 1676.9s

I'm pretty sure you don't.

Speaker 51676.9s - 1714.28s

But let's go ahead and work the count here presented by our friends at Desert Financial Credit Union ORG. How are they one for one with runners in scoring position and they scored six runs? Like what in the hell? This is incredible. Home runs, Derek PERSON, are a powerful thing.Sort of walks, Scott McGuff PERSON. Seattle scores six runs to Diamondbacks won five hits to three hits. I mean, this is not the offensive ass whooping you would think it was diamond backs over four of the runners in scoring position so they had their opportunities they just couldn't convert any of them not not too many not

Speaker 11714.28s - 1723.1s

too many right yeah well the mariners one for one Jesse PERSON so don't even start with me but when you're not hitting three homers then you know you're gonna have to

Speaker 51723.1s - 1745.46s

come through and in some other ways of the debats just we're not able to do. Let's take a look at that again really fast, Jacob, because I wasn't, I'm not, I'm not done lamenting over this hard hit rate down here. Obviously, the three home runs to one, but Mariners were just pounding the ball tonight against that gallon. And even when they were hitting it for an out, they were still smoking it at a 100, you know, mile per hour exit below.

Speaker 11746.06s - 1754.66s

Yeah, there was a lot of hard contact, like we said, not just against Zach Allen PERSON, but against the D-Backs bullpen. You know, obviously that ball against Scott PERSON.

Speaker 51754.66s - 1792.08s

Not against Justin Martinez PERSON. Yeah, Justin Martinez PERSON. He was pretty good out there. But yeah, the D-backs didn't make a ton of hard contact. And you look at their last game in St. Louis combined with this one, Derek PERSON. I mean, the Diamondbacks had one extra base hit combined between those two games, just the home run today from Kevin Newman PERSON. And it's, I discussed on the show the other day. It's really, really hard to win games or to score runs when you're not, when everything you hit is a single because you just have to find a way to string a bunch of them together and the debacks ORG have not had enough frequencyof base hits in general to do that.

Speaker 11792.08s - 1796.88s

So it's been rough offensively.

Speaker 51797.8s - 1810.56s

Well, Chris Melton in the chat says Jody PERSON just tweeted about Zach PERSON and I'm holding that glow. So if you're curious as to what Jody Jackson PERSON tweeted, she just tweeted three minutes ago that Zach Gallin PERSON said he does not expect to miss time.

Speaker 11810.88s - 1811.16s

Okay.

Speaker 51811.62s - 1831.18s

Thank you, Lord. I'll put more money in the swear jar. I won't even swear. I'll just put more money in it. If that's what it's going to take, I will put my whole wallet in there. Tony PERSON, thank you for the super chat.Tony says, keep the faith, Mr. Mayor. It's still April. Just think about them Korean NORP pork nachos and soon those hurt players will be back. So you needed to hear.

Speaker 11831.28s - 1861.32s

I love you, Tony PERSON. I appreciate that. I absolutely need to hear that. That kind of rejuvenated my soul a little bit because those numbers definitely take it out of me. This was a very fast-moving game until we started talking excessively about how fast it was moving. And then that terrible sixth inning happened. And even that was very fast. But the Diamondbacks, again, they just confound me when it comes to the, you know, the first game of these series. They did it on opening day. They gave us a little taste of what they could do.

Speaker 51861.74s - 1872.34s

But then, again, still have not won a game one of a single series this entire season. And that it's it's like you're constantly down 0.1, 02 in the pitch count.

Speaker 01872.58s - 1883.98s

You know, that's kind of what it feels like where you're just kind of scrambling to at least when one, not get swept, try to win the series, but kind of have your back against the wall because you have limited number of games to do it.

Speaker 51884.8s - 1885s

If, I mean, you think it's worth still having the conversation of what would the Diamondbacks ORG do? against the wall because you have limited number of games to do it.

Speaker 11889.16s - 1891.72s

If, I mean, is it, you think it's worth still having the conversation of what would the diamondbacks do if Zach Allen PERSON did miss time?

Speaker 51892.54s - 1896.52s

Yeah, because I don't believe anything that they say when it comes to these players being injured.

Speaker 01896.68s - 1897.68s

That's kind of my thought.

Speaker 11897.68s - 1898.1s

I don't believe Zach Gallin PERSON.

Speaker 01898.18s - 1901.62s

I don't believe the medical experts. I don't believe Tori LaBolo PERSON. I don't believe anything.

Speaker 51902.08s - 1910.46s

I think he's going to wake up tomorrow and things are going to be different and And they're going to all of a sudden hear about him going and needing imaging. And then I'm going to cry in my room on Saturday.

Speaker 11910.62s - 1986s

So if Zach Allen PERSON did need to miss time, which again, I actually think that I think it is likely that if that's what Zach Allen PERSON said, that that will probably be the case that he won't need to miss time. But it would put the debacks ORG in a tough spot because they, with the Merrill Kelly injury, Slate Cicone PERSON stepping in, it felt like Slate Cicone was the last piece of reliable starting pitching depth that the Diamondbacks ORG had. The next guy I could think of would beBryce Jarvis PERSON. And I don't know if the team is willing to, you know, have Jarvis starting as a reliever and then convert him back to being a starter. We saw how that went last year with Dre Jameson PERSON and it did not end well, right? Correlation causation, you know, say about that what you will. But it did not end well and I think the devax would like to avoid that if they can.So if you weren't going with Bryce Jarvis, then Logan Allen PERSON has been around and, you know, I guess is stretched out to some degree. I guess he could step in. But at that point, I mean, you're looking at Jordan Montgomery, Brandon PERSON fought. And then a lot of young unproven arms, right? Cicone, Henry, and then Logan Allen, I guess. Thank God for George Montgomery PERSON.

Speaker 31986s - 1990s

Without Jordan Montgomery PERSON, it would become extremely dire.

Speaker 11990s - 2009.66s

Yeah, extremely dire. And he has been very, very good so far. So yeah, that's certainly a big positive in the last couple weeks as well. But hopefully for the D-Backs, Gallen PERSON, as he said, does not need to miss time. And we don't have to even think about this question because it would not be an easy one for the Diamondacks, Galin PERSON, as he said, does not need to miss time and we don't have to even think about this questionbecause it would not be an easy one for the Diamondbacks ORG to answer.

Speaker 52010s - 2026.64s

No, no. Solario PERSON in the chat says, breaking news. Derek Montia PERSON has been recalled from P.HNX Diamondbacks to pitch to game two of this series,we are doomed. How's the arm feeling? We are not good. As I was reading that, I think I tore my UCL. I'm not sure.

Speaker 12027.34s - 2030.42s

Didn't you say you were telling us the other day that you could relate with Ryan Nelson

Speaker 52030.42s - 2033.54s

because you had an elbow contusion? I did. I have a right elbow contusion.

Speaker 12033.54s - 2035.78s

Like bumping it into your kitchen counter or something.

Speaker 52035.86s - 2038.52s

You were there. I hit it on the desk, bumping it.

Speaker 12038.74s - 2068.64s

I don't underplay the injury by saying bumping it. I hit it drastically on the desk. I caused damage to my right elbow. Craig PERSON got video of it. It's graphic. It's a graphic video that's on social media. But anyway, I have been known to lie, of course, as you guys know, but the numbers, they definitely don't not lie. They do not lie. So let's take a look at tonight's numbers. Jesse, what do you got for tonight's number that does not lie? Yeah.

Speaker 52068.82s - 2075.62s

So tonight's number is 13, which I guess, I guess, yeah, apparently I really like the number 13. That's not a lucky number at all.

Speaker 12075.88s - 2077.06s

Today's Friday, too.

Speaker 52077.06s - 2100.12s

A lot of connections. Oh. Yeah, so today's number is 13. And it has maybe a little bit less significance, given the positive news that we just heard about Zach Allen PERSON. But Jacob, can we pull up the injured list graphic that we have?We have that ready. Is it 13 injured players again? Yeah, there are 13 players on this list.

Speaker 02100.62s - 2105.14s

So this is the injury report graphic that we started a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 32105.64s - 2108.4s

And, you know, at one point you could actually read what was on here.

Speaker 02108.52s - 2185.7s

But now the font is so small that, you know, especially if you're on like an iPhone PRODUCT, it'd probably be pretty tough to make this out. But, yeah, Zach Gallen PERSON, we do have him on here for good reason, you know, even though the initial report seemed to be pretty optimistic. He's still as someone who he's not on the injured list, but he is someone who has, you know, an injury sort of status at this point, something to monitor moving forward. And if he were to go on the injured list, Derek PERSON, he would become the 13th player on the Diamondbacks 40-man roster who is on the injured list, which is I touched on the other day, the debacks ORG are getting to a dangerous pointwhere every time you put a player on the 15-day IL ORG, but not the 60-day, you don't get their 40-man roster spot back to use on someone else. That's just like a dead spot. And so the debacks ORG are already in a placewhere they have very few players on the 40-man who are healthy, who can step in to, you know, take one of these spots for one of the other guys. So hopefully for the debacks, Gallen avoids the IL ORG stint. And we don't have to go any further down this road because they're already in a very precarious position as far as, you know, finding replacements for these guys that are hurt. There's not a lot of options on the 40 man right now.

Speaker 52186s - 2205.68s

And it would appear that Paul Seawald is going to need at least one more rehab start before he returns. We don't have that officially yet, but that looks like the direction that needs trending. So hopefully we can get Paul Seawald PERSON back here soon, and that can help stabilize this bullpen quite a bit. Would have been cool if he could return in Seattle ORG?

Speaker 12205.68s - 2206.2s

I'm sure.

Speaker 52206.36s - 2212.78s

I'm sure he was gunned for that and really, really wanting to do that. But you can understand the Diamondbacks ORG wanting to be careful there.

Speaker 42212.9s - 2216.22s

Make sure he's, he's good to go. Especially after. It's still way early here.

Speaker 12216.92s - 2217.08s

Oh,

Speaker 42217.1s - 2218.04s

he's way ahead of schedule.

Speaker 52218.12s - 2219.72s

But like even this like Harry PERSON,

Speaker 42219.84s - 2220.62s

how ahead of schedule.

Speaker 52220.62s - 2221.32s

I mean,

Speaker 12221.4s - 2224.7s

there's still less than 30 games into the season.

Speaker 42225.42s - 2225.7s

Like, like we're early, early. And it's like, I mean, there's still less than 30 games into the season. Like,

Speaker 52225.74s - 2226.6s

like we're early,

Speaker 42226.72s - 2234.9s

early and it's like, I know that there are three games under 500 and this sucks, but like there are still like 120 games left to play.

Speaker 52234.9s - 2237.32s

So like, does it make sense to rush them back? No.

Speaker 42237.56s - 2250.12s

Because like in the grand scheme of things, well, every game like this matters, they made the playoffs by one game at the end of last year. I get it. But if you can tread water while you have 13 guys on the injured list I just that's a win

Speaker 52250.12s - 2268.88s

I just can't wait for that point this season and I know it's going to come when national media starts talking about the surging snakes and where the where these team from Arizona GPE all of a sudden came from and it's going to be like yeah it's because half of our team was missing and we got them back and when this team is whole this team is going

Speaker 02268.88s - 2300.5s

to be connected and dangerous once again but uh we don't know when that's going to happen how long that's going to take and like jacob PERSON said don't know if they can tread water that long in order in order for them to be in a position where they're not so far behind much like the mariners because that interestingly interestingly enough, was a story Paul Seawall PERSON told us during spring training about how you can start off slow, but, you know, the Mariners, they had that thing where they started off slow and they just kindof expected eventually that they would get things going and catch everything back up, and that never came.

Speaker 12301.3s - 2319.5s

Yeah. I guess another, like, this is not necessarily a positive positive but, uh, no, uh, no, but then I mean, you look at, you look at all the guys who are on the list that we just showed and, you know, pretty much all of them are guys you expect to get back at some point,

Speaker 52319.74s - 2326.44s

not too far from now, right? Sure. Uh, you know, drae, like, Dreyameson, okay, he's out for the season.

Speaker 12326.54s - 2400.76s

We've known that from the beginning. Merrill Kelly ORG is most up in the air for sure. I mean, you know, you hope that he's able to get back sooner than later. Tori, as we discussed yesterday, was not sure if Merrill PERSON would be back by the All-Star break, which, of course, is not something you want to hear. But I do think there's still a world in which Merrill Kelly comes back on July 1st, say. And, you know, Eduardo Rodriguez talking about June there, Alec Thomas, getting pretty close. It sounds like Geraldo Perdomo theoretically, you know, in the next two to four weeks or so. Paul Seawald PERSON getting pretty close as we just discussed. So on paper, there's still a world where like, you know, at least in mid-July, say, this Diamondbacks ORG team is pretty healthy and suddenly looks very, very good and very different from the team that we've been watching up to this point. Now, granted, we've certainly learned this lesson over the last few weeks. You don't necessarily just lose someone and then you just get to wait it out with everyone else healthy until they come back. Other injuries tend to arise as you're waiting for other guys to get back. But you don't expect it to continue at the rate that it's been so far because this is ridiculous what the diamond backs you're going through right now.

Speaker 52401.06s - 2410.98s

And obviously, I mean, like we said earlier, there's some sort of bad mojo going on here. They made the World Series last year, Derek PERSON. And there is something that

Speaker 12410.98s - 2415.7s

like agreements were made. It feels like they... I don't know if it's a hangover, though. I feel

Speaker 52415.7s - 2420.8s

like it's their bodies didn't get enough rest. But even, I don't know, I mean, like...

Speaker 42420.8s - 2424.68s

Nobody's in on my deal with the devil kind of thing.

Speaker 52424.68s - 2427.48s

Eduardo Rodriguez PERSON wasn't part of that, right?

Speaker 12427.88s - 2430.54s

Ryan Nelson PERSON wasn't really part of that.

Speaker 42431.02s - 2433.02s

You could make a case like, I don't know.

Speaker 12433.94s - 2440.1s

Did Geraldo Pernomo tear his meniscus because the D-Backs were playing in November still?

Speaker 52440.22s - 2441.6s

Like, I don't know.

Speaker 12441.72s - 2448.3s

It's hard to really go down that road and make any sense of anything. None of this makes any sense.

Speaker 52448.76s - 2453.38s

Yeah, I don't really buy the World Series EVENT hangover argument because, like, Catelle

Speaker 12453.38s - 2474.66s

is raking, right? And Lordus Gariel PERSON has been off to a good start. And Christian Walker PERSON has been great, but I wouldn't say he's been terrible. I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a World Series EVENT hangover. Corbyn Carroll is really the one guy who was really good last year's come out this year and just not been at all the same player. But who's to say if that's really because of the World Series?

Speaker 42474.66s - 2478.2s

It really felt like Corbyn Carroll when he went last year, the team went.

Speaker 12478.66s - 2483.18s

And it kind of feels like that might be what's missing right now. Like that's their guy.

Speaker 42484.12s - 2485.36s

And he's not going. He's not on the base pass. He's missing right now. Like that's their guy. And he's not going.

Speaker 02486.06s - 2487.08s

He's not on the base pass.

Speaker 42487.18s - 2488.42s

He's not causing problems.

Speaker 02488.58s - 2497.08s

Perdomo PERSON causes problems on the base paths. Jake PERSON, honestly, Jake McCarthy PERSON should be starting almost every game right now because he causes problems on the base path.

Speaker 12497.44s - 2504.34s

Would you guys want Jake McCart PERSON? I mean, I think Tori made the decision to start paving in right field over Jake McCarthy PERSON.

Speaker 52505.32s - 2507.28s

Would you rather have... He's rather have one error all year?

Speaker 42507.48s - 2508.72s

Like, he's not been bad.

Speaker 12509s - 2510.1s

That wasn't the problem tonight.

Speaker 42510.1s - 2514.52s

But, I mean, again, it's like Paveen PERSON is not an offensive threat.

Speaker 12514.98s - 2531.92s

He's not a guy that can at times generate offense the same way McCarthy PERSON can. So I think I would rather see Jake PERSON out there. But I don't think it really would have made a huge impact tonight. I really don't. Ultimately, at the end of the day, I think that the Diamondbacks bats are cold and scared of Kerbal PERSON.

Speaker 52532.72s - 2567.78s

You know, and I'd like to address Joe Boo PERSON while we're on the topic of this whole thing. Look, Joe Boo PERSON, I good to you. I stick up for you. And this is how you treat me? Fuck you, Joe Boo PERSON. The Diamondbacks ORG do it themselves i don'tknow i i really at this point have no idea what the diamond backs ORG can do to kind of uh get out of this you know kind of what what feels like even though it's not as bad as as it feels like this rut that they're in and it just i think the problem is that right now we don't know when that relief is going to come hopefully paul seawald is the beginning of that, like getting Seawald PERSON back.

Speaker 02567.94s - 2587.14s

Like I said about, you know, all of these guys that are missing those little sparks along the way could be things that could hopefully give this team a boost every time one of those guys come back. But I don't know. I don't know. But what I do know is that tonight's a great night for OGs. A perfect night, especially with the way that Sun ORG's game is going.

Speaker 52587.48s - 2699.52s

I think the entire Cardinals ORG crew deserve some OGs. And so do you for being an Arizona GPE sports fan. The Diamondbacks right now are like the movie Final Destination WORK_OF_ART, but with injuries.

Speaker 02700.04s - 2704.82s

Instead of death coming for everybody that was on the plane, it's the IL ORG.

Speaker 32704.82s - 2707.98s

And it's coming for everybody in the Diamondbacks ORG organization.

Speaker 02708.5s - 2721.62s

I already got bitten by the IL ORG bug. Obviously, we talked about that earlier. But even when you're just sitting innocently in the dugout, Jesse PERSON, you're not safe there, are you? Apparently not, Derek PERSON.

Speaker 12722.5s - 2734.22s

Diamondbacks top pitching prospect, U.M.N, Lynn PERSON, I was told, took a line drive and was hit by a line drive while just standing in the dugout.

Speaker 52734.22s - 2741.9s

That's awful. Because you know how dangerous that could be, right? You know how those line drives, especially if you just look away for a second can be smoked right in your direction

Speaker 12741.9s - 2841.72s

when you're standing in a dugout. Today was not, this was not U in Inland's day to pitch. You'll be Diaz is on the mound tonight for Amarillo GPE. But yeah, I was told that he left with paramedics, which is never something that you want to hear. So one of those situations is bigger than just baseball, right? I mean, we all know how much, you know, getting hit with a line dry, you know, a line drive baseball in any scenario, especially at this level when people hit the ball very hard is always a scary thing. So hopefully all is well there. Haven't gotten any updates or anything just yet. But continuing the trend of debacks injuries for sure, not just at the big league level, but with their farm system, Jordan Lawler PERSON, of course, with that torn ligament in his thumb, he's still going to be out for, you know, another month, month and a half at this point,Gino Groover breaking his wrist within the last week or two. He had surgery and is missing several months with that. Tommy Troy PERSON. Tommy Troy went on the injured list today, reported that earlier today. And yeah, he's on the 70A IL and Diamondbacks Farm Director, Sean Larkin, told me that he would be out for about four to six weeks. That's the current expectation. That was an injury. He suffered on Sunday in his final at bat. He was grabbing in his left hamstring after running up the first baseline. And pretty fairly extended absence there for a hamstring. It must have been a little bit more intense than say the injury that Alec Thomas had. So bad news really across the board tonight, Derek PERSON.I wish I could give some kind of positive spin here. Drew Jones PERSON hit a homer. There you go. Yeah.

Speaker 42841.92s - 2847.66s

He went two for three. His batting average is 218 and his OPS is almost over 700. Okay. Okay.

Speaker 12847.88s - 2849.58s

That's a comeback. All right.

Speaker 02849.64s - 2854.04s

Come on. Hey, we might be back. All right. We might be back. No, we're not back.

Speaker 42854.08s - 2855.76s

Adrian Del Castillo PERSON was out before, though.

Speaker 12855.88s - 2888.34s

And his slash line reduced to 350, 400. I think he'll be okay. 670. Yeah, no, Drew Jones PERSON actually played pretty well here in his last few games. If you go back to April 17th, he would be, I want to say seven for the last 21 at the plate. So that's a 333 average. There's been some slug in there as well. A few extra base hits along the way, including that Homer today that Jacob mentioned. So there you go. Drew Jones PERSON is, you know, showing some signs of life down in single-A right now.

Speaker 52888.68s - 2908.12s

Dave is bringing up the fact that I... It's not sharp. That's the problem is it's not sharp. So I can't hurt myself with it right now. But Benjamin PERSON just wants to make the pain even worse. I think he said something about MHJtearing his ACL at the Sun ORG's game. He also said

Speaker 02908.12s - 2938.16s

that the county just won the draft lottery. So he just wants to pile on. I'm not going to engage him any further. But I will discuss the probable pitchers for the rest of this series because the Diamondbackshopefully can turn things around. They'll inevitably score 75 runs in one of these games and then get two hits in the other one but they have slates coney going tomorrow against kirby PERSON fought against gilbert uh gilbert's been very good this season uh george kirby PERSON's been pretty good

Speaker 12938.16s - 2971.7s

himself george kirby PERSON yeah he's a much better pitcher than his 533 r a would lead you to believe for sure uh just pounds the strike zone has a good pitch mix uh Logan gilbert has like He's a much better pitcher than his 533 RA would lead you to believe for sure. Just pounds the strike zone has a good pitch mix. Logan Gilbert has like six different pitches. He think he added a cutter this year. He has a splitter that's a little bit newer to his arsenal as well. He's been throwing the ball really well. So debacks ORG have their work cut out for him, right? I mean, on paper, the Zach Allen, Emerson Hancock game. Like, that was the game out of the series that you felt pretty good about. And now you're left with two games where the Mariners have a pitching advantage on paper, for sure.

Speaker 52972.18s - 2978.1s

I just don't know how the Diamondbacks offense gets back on track against two very good starting pitchers. I don't know where that will come from.

Speaker 32978.3s - 2981.02s

So, of course, something very confusing will happen.

Speaker 12981.14s - 2985.26s

It'll probably be like the Logan Gilbert game that they break out or something of the sort, but

Speaker 32985.26s - 2988.1s

I don't know. Meanwhile, things

Speaker 52988.1s - 2989.98s

are all over the place with former

Speaker 32989.98s - 2991.78s

Diamondbacks. We found out today that Wade

Speaker 52991.78s - 2996.02s

Miley is going to undergo Tommy John's surgery, and that's kind of

Speaker 12996.02s - 2998.16s

unfortunate. You're just trying to needlessly

Speaker 52998.16s - 3008.8s

pour it on with bad news, huh? Derek PERSON? You just looked up some former Diamondbacks and some bad things that are happening to them. Is that what you did? Baltimore Orioles option Jackson Holiday PERSON. He was terrible some bad things that are happening to them. Is that what you did? Baltimore Orioles option Jackson Holiday PERSON. He was terrible at the plate.

Speaker 13009.08s - 3009.32s

Okay.

Speaker 53009.56s - 3009.6s

All right.

Speaker 13010.04s - 3010.24s

Is that view?

Speaker 53010.68s - 3010.8s

Really bad.

Speaker 13011.68s - 3012.46s

Is that a really bad? Is that a good thing around here?

Speaker 53012.7s - 3015.38s

Did DeVex fans take joy in Jackson Holiday PERSON?

Speaker 13015.92s - 3017.9s

I was just looking at the majors already.

Speaker 43018.4s - 3021.58s

Drew Jones sitting 218 and A ball.

Speaker 53021.88s - 3022.12s

Yeah.

Speaker 43022.22s - 3024.22s

I'm just looking for things to bring me joy.

Speaker 53024.5s - 3027.1s

The White Sox selected the contract of Tommy Fam.

Speaker 43027.34s - 3027.92s

There we go.

Speaker 13028.04s - 3029.34s

All right, there's some positive news.

Speaker 43029.54s - 3030.72s

But see, it's the White Sox ORG.

Speaker 53030.8s - 3039.42s

So they're never going to win baseball games with him on the team. And thus, we're never going to get drunk Tommy Fam asking guys if they play basketball in the locker room.

Speaker 13039.78s - 3048.22s

Tommy Fam going from the World Series playing for the Chicago White Sox is one of the sadder career turns.

Speaker 53049.34s - 3060.98s

But good to see Tommy fam finally get an opportunity. I mean, at this point, he probably would have been on the Diamondbacks ORG main roster. I'm sure they would have called him up by this point and giving him a shot at shortstop or something. I don't know.

Speaker 13061.4s - 3063.04s

It's never too late to teach me.

Speaker 53063.04s - 3063.4s

I've got one.

Speaker 13063.4s - 3064s

Former debacks.

Speaker 43064.46s - 3064.9s

What do you got?

Speaker 13067.14s - 3067.74s

Josh Rojas PERSON hit a home run. Oh, go to hell.

Speaker 43070.74s - 3071s

Go to hell. I don't like that one at all.

Speaker 53074.16s - 3074.34s

You know, Dominic Canzon PERSON. I've been hearing some good things about him too.

Speaker 43076.72s - 3077.34s

No. No. Mitch Hanager PERSON?

Speaker 13079.42s - 3079.62s

Anybody? Yeah. Yeah, there we go. That's a good.

Speaker 43084.52s - 3085.9s

Oh, yeah. Mitch Hanager, you love to see former Diamondbacks going out and have a good cruise for themselves, Derek PERSON.

Speaker 53086.16s - 3088.52s

I'm going to wrap this up because I don't want to do this show anymore.

Speaker 13088.64s - 3092.12s

Not with you, not with him, not in this building, not about this team anymore.

Speaker 53092.44s - 3095.28s

Because I might be struck by the injury bug.

Speaker 43095.36s - 3097.1s

Like I said, it's coming for all of us.

Speaker 53097.1s - 3100.06s

But, man, I'll tell you, this is a rough one.

Speaker 13100.16s - 3102.68s

And the Diamondbacks ORG hopefully can get things back on track.

Speaker 53102.82s - 3104.92s

Usually they're pretty good when we do postgame shows.

Speaker 43106.06s - 3107.06s

So they're even letting us down.

Speaker 53112.36s - 3112.52s

Yeah. I will say just before we sign off here, it's still April, right?

Speaker 43115.24s - 3115.32s

The Diamondbacks ORG are very far from hole right now.

Speaker 53118.14s - 3118.5s

There are only three games under 500.

Speaker 13120.1s - 3120.24s

Like, this is not a good start.

Speaker 53125.04s - 3126.48s

This is not, I'm not trying to say that anything that's happened so far for the devax. I did this earlier.

Speaker 13127.22s - 3132.38s

But I'm trying to end on a positive note here, Derek PERSON, all right?

Speaker 53132.9s - 3133.24s

Go.

Speaker 13133.52s - 3134.22s

Do you have more?

Speaker 53134.58s - 3136.46s

No, that's pretty much it.

Speaker 33136.66s - 3140.88s

The sky is not falling yet, I guess, is what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 13142.1s - 3145.9s

That would have been a perfect time for a ceiling tile to fall down or something.

Speaker 33146.8s - 3147.48s

All right.

Speaker 13147.56s - 3150.7s

Well, we do appreciate you guys joining us here for this postgame show.

Speaker 33150.8s - 3153.02s

Of course, we'll be back on Monday with our 1 PM show.

Speaker 13153.1s - 3155.24s

Make sure to drop us our mailbag Monday questions.

Speaker 53155.68s - 3158.12s

Check out Jesse PERSON's on the record, by the way.

Speaker 33158.36s - 3158.52s

Yeah.

Speaker 43158.64s - 3160.1s

It's a phenomenal conversation you had.

Speaker 53160.14s - 3160.66s

Great stuff.

Speaker 13160.66s - 3167.68s

Yeah, Dave Sims PERSON is possibly my favorite play-by-play broadcaster in all of baseball right now.

Speaker 53167.86s - 3170.84s

So, yeah, it was a lot of fun getting to chat with him.

Speaker 13170.94s - 3172.78s

We were just listening to calls.

Speaker 53173.78s - 3180.46s

Yeah, Dave Sims has some pretty legendary calls of big moments when the Mariners made the postseason in 2022,

Speaker 13181.22s - 3185.72s

ending an extended droughts of the Mariners not, I think 20 years, more than 20 years

Speaker 53185.72s - 3187.3s

of the Mariners not making the postseason.

Speaker 33187.48s - 3206.62s

They finally made it. And he nailed that call. As he nails, he nails all of the big moments. And that's something I very much value in a play-by-play broadcaster is having a voice that can, you know, really rise to the occasion in the biggest moments that fans are going to remember for a long time. And Dave Sims PERSON does that as well as just about anyone else.

Speaker 53206.9s - 3234.56s

That's very true. Well said. So make sure to check that out. Of course, like I said, we'll be back on Monday. In the meantime, you can follow us on Twitter. I am at cap underscore Kman with a K. Jesse PERSON is at Jesse N. Friedman. Of course,Fage PERSON is at Jacob underscore Franklin for because he's the fourth best Jacob Franklin PERSON in known existence. He's still a top five Jacob Franklin PERSON. So like that's kind of, by saying he's the fourth best, it makes it sound like, oh, there's three other better Jacob Franklin PERSON's. Yes, that's fine. But there's lots of Jacob Franklin PERSON's out there. And at least he ranks in the top five.

Speaker 43234.56s - 3235.7s

It's a pretty generic white man name.

Speaker 53235.86s - 3236.74s

Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 13236.74s - 3238.2s

Fourth place is actually really good.

Speaker 43238.4s - 3241s

There's a lot of Jacob Franklin PERSON's in the world for sure.

Speaker 13241.12s - 3244.66s

I remember when I ranked in the top, like, 100 in Call of Duty one time.

Speaker 53244.74s - 3245.64s

I was very excited.

Speaker 43245.78s - 3247.44s

It was only for like an hour.

Speaker 53247.44s - 3250.22s

You have to take into account how many, you know, how many people there are.

Speaker 13250.36s - 3251.28s

How big is the pool?

Speaker 53251.62s - 3255.36s

Yeah, for sure. And he doesn't even get video games, but he got that. He got that reference.

Speaker 03255.54s - 3256.46s

I did appreciate that.

Speaker 13256.78s - 3262.08s

Of course, our shows at PHNX ORG underscore Dbacks, but all roads do lead to at PHNX underscore

Speaker 53262.08s - 3277.28s

sports on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook ORG. We thank you guys again for stopping by. Like I said, we'll see you next week. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. And remember, kids, baseball is fun, but it's so much more fun when you don't have 13 players on the injured list. My God.
