Speaker 40s - 49.48s

I'm What a What a brutal way to lose a playoff game at home that was winnable for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Speaker 249.82s - 122.62s

Sixers drop game four at home and now head to New York for game five, trying to avoid elimination in the elimination game as the Knicks take a 3-1 series lead riding the back of their superstar in Jalen Brunton PERSON. Welcome to the P.HLY Sixers Postgame ORG show presented by Cors Light on the road with Rich Hoffman PERSON. I'm Devon Givens PERSON. We are broadcasting live from Wicked Wolf here on 12th in Chestnut GPE.Downtown Center City of Philadelphia GPE, where the place was live. They were into the game. Everyone knew this was going to be a tough one and a close victory at the end for either team. But the way things played out, it seemingly looked like the Sixers ORG could in fact, once again, win this basketball game. But because of some things that keep popping up, a normal theme for the Philadelphia 76ers against the New York Knicks and quite honestly during the regular season, rebounding once again a big part of the loss this afternoon. They trail again 3-1. They go to New York on Tuesday for game 5. And man, we can get into all of that on Monday's show as we get ready for Tuesday's game. But here and now in the moment, this was a bad loss, obviously, for the Philadelphia 76 ORG is rich.

Speaker 3123.46s - 238.68s

Devon, the last two games, I think officiating hijacked the conversation in the post-game discourse. I think Citrus fans were upset, game two. Nick's fans were upset game three. You're not going to hear about the refs from either of us tonight. You know, there are a million calls during a game. Frankly, Joel PERSON got a pretty decent whistle.I think they were all fouls on Hartnstein PERSON, but no, the refs were not the story here. The story was the Knicks ORG, their best player, played a spectacular game.Meanwhile, the Sixers ORG, two best players faded as the game went on. And I am so tired of saying this man, the tougher team won. And the Sixers ORG are not the tougher team. Like, Devon, they finished with, I'm looking at it now, they finished with 35% offensive rebound. Basically, Sixers in the first half of this game did a really good job on the glass. And then at the end of the game, while the Knicks ORG went small, they went with O'GNNobie PERSON defending Ambide, precious Achua because Hartstein was in fouls, and they just battered the Sixers ORG on the defensive glass at the end of the game. And look, the Sixers offense, we're going to talk about that, believe they didn't score on 10 straight possessions in the fourth quarter. But I guess I would start by just saying, like, man, I'm sick of this. Like, I'm sick of watching this era of Sixers ORG basketball have games like this, where they're just, they're not the tougher team. They're not the smarter team down the stretch. Even, you know what I was thinking of down the stretch of the game? I was thinking of game four against the Celtics last year, where Hardin completely bales them out. But, you know, Horford's getting rebounds. The Celtics ORG are tougher. And I'm just so unbelievablyford's getting rebounds. The Celtics ORG are tougher. And I'm just so unbelievably sick and tired of it. So that is my kind of long-winded way of saying the right team won today. The tougher team won. They absolutely did because the sixes looked like they were in control.

Speaker 2238.98s - 257.9s

Folks, by the way, the sixes were up twice in this game by 10 on two separate occasions. And New York just kept chipping away, finding a way, hitting a big three-pointer, were up twice in this game by 10 on two separate occasions, and New York GPE just kept chipping away, finding a big three-pointer, getting an A&1, to cut it to seven. And then they just seemed like they made the smarter plays. When you talk about the toughness and all of that,

Speaker 0259.32s - 351.56s

the smarter basketball team. They're mentally tougher too. Mentally tougher just came out with this victory on this Sunday night. They were out-hustled. They were out this Sunday night. They were out hustled. They were outclassed. They were out everything. Outscored, obviously, at the end by five to lose this basketball game. And the 76ers did not score on the final 10 possessions, as we heard during the broadcast. And when I went back to look, that was five minutes, under five minutes. They did not score a field goal on their end of the floor. Opportunities for defensive rebounds to go the other way. Missed layups at the rim. I counted three.A Tyrese maxi drive missing a layup right at the room. Rod off the lip of the rim first. Then you get Nick Baton PERSON on the baseline. Decent pass. Attacks the rim gets stuffed by Josh PERSON, where he landed on his back. I mean, he absolutely obliterated the ball and Batum PERSON on that play. And then you also had another one from Tobias Harris PERSON going up weak instead of finishing strong at the room. And he looked decent in the first half for what Tobias Harris PERSON has normally given them. And then for them to, again, not be able to score the basketball, collect those offensive rebounds. They had three on one possession to allow the New York Knicks ORG to score the basketball again, and it was up close when they was down five, then they would be down three, then when they were down one, and they would go right back because what happens again, the tougher team, the team that's out hustling the other team, giving themselves an opportunity. And I got to give precious to cheer of credit.

Speaker 2351.72s - 389.46s

He was great. Because we thought, we thought that they would not, would not be able to win those minutes with him out there on the floor. He played smart and played under control, and he gave his team a chance. He has some bad plays.Trying to finish at the rim. That's just not what he does. But all in all, he had a key block when Joel Embed PERSON in that final 40 seconds where Embed PERSON did not take that short jumper. He drove to the basket trying to get an easier finish and maybe even a foul. You can question that right there. But Preston Situa PERSON got the block to prevent him from making that shot some tough shots from a lot of people Kelly Ubrey bad three point in the top

Speaker 3389.46s - 402.92s

there Kelly Ubrae PERSON was terrible Tremacy PERSON bad shots there towards the end in the fourth quarter same thing Joel and B PERSON was fatigued we can get into Nick Nurse PERSON later to see if that was a bad idea to not take him out at the start of the fourth

Speaker 2402.92s - 408.66s

a huge part of the game yeah it was it I actually had question while we were sitting here with two minutes to go in the third.

Speaker 3408.92s - 411.24s

Just so many things went against the 76ers ORG.

Speaker 2411.56s - 417.74s

And not only was it because New York GPE did a good job of forcing and dictating things,

Speaker 3418.04s - 422.24s

but also because the 76ers ORG did not force and dictate themselves.

Speaker 2422.62s - 432.64s

And you got a hat tip, if I'm going to call out Preston, and Noble as Rich says guys gals six of fans Jaylen Brunson was

Speaker 3432.64s - 637.98s

phenomenal best player on the floor by a lot a new playoff career I 47 a new franchise playoff record for the New York Knicks and Jalen Brunson PERSON with his 47 points he was easily the best basketball player on the floor between the two teams. Well, and that's why he's really screwed up in those two MSG ORG games because he's stunk in both of those games by his standards. And at some point, like, he's going to get his.And frankly, I thought the Sixers ORG defense was not even that bad on him. He was just, like, terrific. And obviously, he's got the great footwork. He's got the Joe Lambeed trait where when he does get the foul, he got Tobias PERSON up in the air on the one. He's excellent touch on finishing those plays. Those might be the two best guys in the league at finishing those. He was spectacular. I mean, Devon, I'm looking at his stats right now, 47 points. 10 assists, one turnover. Like one turnover. How many minutes? In 43 minutes. I mean, he sat at the beginning when he bumped knees with Lowry of the fourth quarter. But look, you know, that's the story, right?Jalen Brunson PERSON was great, and some of that is you've got to just shake his hand. He was terrific. But also the defensive rebounding and the Sixers ORG, just their offense completely falling apart. And Devon, when we look back, I thought the first quarter of the Sixers played tonight, even though Brunson had a nice quarter, I think he had about 10 or 12 points in the quarter, I thought they were excellent all quarter. Like, they had the right defensive rotations. They were kind of pre-switching those high ball screens, making sure Mbide PERSON was back. Lowry was doing, you know, kind of the fun Kyle Lowry PERSON thinks. They were getting good shots on offense out of post-ups. Joel, great passing. Hits Tobias PERSON with a hit-ahead pass. They were only up 10. They probably should have been up a little bit more. But I think the story is, man, it's a 48-minute game. You cannot just come out that strong and not like expect the Knicks to punch back. But I think the story is, man, it's a 48-minute game. You cannot just come out that strong and not like expect the Knicks ORG to punch back. And I just feel like at some point, the Knicks kept punching and the Sixers, they kind of let go of the rope. But Devon, I think it all starts and the decision to play Joel Embed PERSON. And I believe I saw Mike Lynch from basketball reference said this. It is the first time Joel Embed has ever played the entire second half in his career. I don't think that's ever happened before. And I think the Sixers ORG paid for that. But it comes back to, okay, Sixers have that great first quarter. They're up 27.17 CARDINAL. The first few minutes of the second quarter, they go with Paul Reed, they go with Maxi and Tobias PERSON. And I think in four minutes, they scored two points. Tobias Harris PERSON free throws. The offense was horrendous. They didn't get one good shot. They got Maxie PERSON flailing for garbage calls. If Brunson PERSON was flailing for those, I would say they were not fouls either. You got Baton taking 30 footers from Beyond the Arc FAC. You got Tobias PERSON not scoring. It was really bad. And of course, I think I saw that Kevin O'Connor PERSON had this stat.It is the 11th postseason loss of Joe L.M.B.'s PERSON career where he finishes with a positive plus minus. Now, this one wasn't as bad. It was plus one. So whatever. But you cannot lose his Now, this one wasn't as bad. It was plus one, so whatever. But you cannot lose his minutes, those four minutes, by six points. Like it's just, and I felt like that just infected the team's energy. They did not get good shots the rest of the quarter, and the Knicks ORG shut them down the rest of the way.

Speaker 2638.24s - 689.68s

No, it was just, again, that effort, man. Effort, very, very poor. How do you continually let that happen where you can't get to those loose balls? You don't put enough of a body on someone to make sure that you pull away. And you knew it was going to be a close game, but again, you just needed to make some runs, some sustainable runs. Sixers in that run that they had in the third quarter to go up 10 again, missed shots there where we looked at things rich in thatmoment and saying that was a swing play right there for the Sixers ORG. Totally. That was a swing play there for the Knicks ORG. That was another swing play there for the New York Knicks ORG. And it happened so many times so often for the New York Knicks where the Sixers ORG just simply did not have an opportunity.Well, they had the opportunities to respond, but they didn't know how to respond. And that's what's so frustrating because we have a lot of people to point our finger at. And I put it in there in that final eight minutes TIME.

Speaker 0689.78s - 690.52s

Eight minutes.

Speaker 3690.7s - 733.2s

It's everybody. Tyrese PRODUCT, I needed him to come up much bigger in the moment. He has been so good through these first three games, including that fourth playing. I mean, he wasn't great in the playing game, but he really elevated his play in New York GPE with what he did. And for him, he looked frustrated. He looked a bit confused as to how he was trying to get his shots. It didn't look like New York GPE was doing all that things, all that differently against him. They did a better job of not giving the Brunson PERSON switch. And a couple of those terrible possessions at the end, like Maxie PERSON was not aggressive enough with Brunton PERSON kind of fighting the screen that Lowry PERSON was settingor Ubrae PERSON was setting, whoever he was guarding. Yeah, it's bad. Yeah.

Speaker 2733.78s - 821.42s

By the way, when you mention that with the Jalen Brunson PERSON going on, and all, Jaylen Brunson is not a good defender. All right? Nobody fought. He fought today, but he's not a good defender. And one thing that I don't want to see from the young star player in Tiree's Maxie PERSON was going up against O'G. Anobie, much better defender, scored on O.G. Anobie. Scoring on Josh Hart, as good as the effort was from Jalen Brunson PERSON, he still cannot stay in front of Tyrese if Maxi is decisive with what he wants to doand trying to get to the basket and get his shot off. And that's what the frustrating part was for me watching Maxi and the growth that we have discussed so much with him and how good he has been and getting, finding that matchup, no matter if it's the matchup that he wants, but he can't get it, but still deciding that I'm still going to do what I do, which is scoring the basketball and not doing that in this game against Jaylen Brunson, or even Miles McBride PERSON, for that matter, when McBride was on him.We saw a couple times, we were like, just go buy him. Go buy him. Get to your spot. You may not get to the free throw now, but you might just get the bucket. Or the pull-up jumper that we've seen to make a lot from that mid-range area. You need it so much more of that tonight.I already saw one real fast where it wasn't a super chap, but I want to address this right now when it comes to, I think it was Remo K says Paul Reed PERSON is just not good. I like the guy, but it's time to go to someone else next year. Paul Reed PERSON was not the problem, all right?

Speaker 3821.82s - 826.68s

He was not the problem, Remo PERSON. Even if he was not good, it's so much

Speaker 2826.68s - 830.84s

bigger than him. And that's where it brings us back to the Tyrese Maxi piece. Those are your minutes.

Speaker 3831.26s - 863.82s

Yeah. Those are your minutes with Joel and beat off the floor. Paul Reed PERSON was not the problem there. They could not score the basketball. It wasn't about the defensive and rebounding. It was about scoring the basketball. And Paul Reed PERSON is not the one that you're asking the score. You're asking him to do the little things and fight on the other end defensively to get a block shot or rebound, et cetera. Paul Reed PERSON was not the problem. So let's not go there. There's so many other. He's way down the list of issues. No. I agree with you. No. And look, it's rough. So, Devon, let's take a step back here.

Speaker 2863.88s - 864.46s

Let's take a step back.

Speaker 0864.46s - 945.42s

Because as we have just said in however many minutes we've been talking, that sucked. 14 minutes. That was 14 minutes of that sucked. That was brutal. And I think the crazy thing about this season, let's take a step back. I know you didn't start with us until November. But we were talking about it, you know, off camera. We didn't think that the Sixers team had a chance to go deep this year. Like the front office signaled to everybody, hey, like, we're keeping our cap space for next year. We, they made the hardened trade in the first two weeks of the season. Sure. And, you know, as we said, it was the trade to make a trade.Well, they didn't make that second trade yet. They were like, okay, we're going to get Buddy Healed at the deadline. By the way, Buddy Healed, DMP ORG. D&P. Today, not great for the best player at the trade deadline. But again, the way that the front office has built this team this year,it's almost like they have not been trying. I mean, they haven't been. And they would argue that, hey, we're going to push in our chips next year. That's when it is. The fact that this group of players, and specifically Joe Lindbid and Tyrese Maxi, had such good seasons to the point where I'm at the same element where, you know, like heading intothe year, I would have thought, all right, yeah, the six are going to lose. This isn't going to sting as much. No, man, this is like the same old thing. Yeah. Especially when you look at the pad. It's ridiculous. I feel like. Look at the pad that they've created for themselves. Sure, you don't want to sting as much. No, man, this is like the same old thing. Yeah. Especially when you look at the path.

Speaker 2945.62s - 965.9s

Look at the path that they've created for themselves. Sure, you don't want to be a seventh seat, but as much as you know, it's going to be a knuckle-drager, a fight, an alley-you-know-way brawl with the New York Knicks ORG. You go into a second round potentially against the Indiana Pacers ORG. Yes, they had your number in the regular season. But if we walk into a playoff round, we're thinking they're going to beat that one.

Speaker 3966.12s - 1087.78s

They give you enough hope in the punt year DATE. It's crazy. And in Milwaukee, their two stars are injured, and you don't know what you're going to get from them on any given night. You have to, again, take advantage of your opportunity and situation, and they did not do that here with these series through the first four games. They didn't. Enough to pick up two victories at least through four. They didn't. By the way, I think the Sixers are getting outscored by like four points or something in the series. They are down three one. They cannot win close games in this series. And we've seen it before, man. We've seen it before. And it's unfortunate. We've seen them not be able to run good offense down the stretch. I think that also, as poor as the defensive rebounding is,their inability to run good offense down the stretch, like either whether it's the staggered ball screen we're talking about, the double drag, or they were getting good offense in the third quarter by just running a pin down and getting M-beat at the free throw line, and, you know, whether he got Hartnstein PERSON in foul trouble, whether he was able to find open shooters,it felt like there were way too many possessions at the end where Joel PERSON is hanging out in the corner. But I think part of that stemmed back to Nick Nurse didn't take him out in the second half, right? And we talked about, you know, are they going to be able to buy him a couple of minutes? And, you know, there are a lot of games where people say, oh, man, you should have been able to play Joel PERSON the entire game. There is a little bit of a risk with that. And I think the Sixers ORG got burned by it. And it's just the whole thing is disappointing, you know. And I don't think they're completely out of the series yet. Like the Knicks ORG have not proven that they can blow this team out. But it's going to be really tough sledding now. And they had a golden opportunity. They were playing well in the first quarter. The Knicks ORG have not proven that they can blow this team out, but it's going to be really tough sledding now.And they had a golden opportunity. They were playing well in the first quarter. Had a terrible second quarter, but still were up at halftime because of kind of some ridiculous maxi shots at the end of that first half. They have the 10-point leading the third quarter. Joel PERSON is throwing the ball all over the court. Although, in fairness, I didn't know on a couple of those playswere they bad turnovers or does like Ubrae PERSON have to catch that ball? I don't know.

Speaker 21087.98s - 1090.74s

In the miscommunication with Tarese Maxi PERSON on the side line.

Speaker 31091.28s - 1184.24s

You guys played enough to know how to play off of one another for that not to be an issue where you can't understand where that's going. And then they had another third turnover that we were like, what is going on here? So when I say to Remo K PERSON, of course, Remo K, I'm not picking on you about that. I'm just pointing out that Paul Reed PERSON is way down the list. And yes, even though they, even though the Paul Reed PERSON stuff, as I saw you said, I'm not sure why he is making it seem like I'm placing the blame solely on Reed PERSON.First of all, you know you can address me individually. I did with you, and me and you are cool so we can have the conversation. I'm just pointing out that Paul Reed PERSON was not the problem because, again, they were up by 10 twice. And in those Paul Reed minutes, your other All-Star was on the floor and could have done some stuff. No, you're right, Coach Lowell, Rick PERSON is that he was not great in his time out there on the floor, but that's not the issue in today's gamewhere I am focused on that at all right now when others, Ubre, Harris PERSON, there's so many others that are way down the list where I'm not even focused on the Paul Reed minutes per se with him out there as the issue. It's more of what happened, yes, while he was on the floor, but the other person that was on the floor was your other All-Star needed to do something to makethose plus minutes TIME in his time on the floor. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying you're placing to blame solely, but I wouldn't, he's not even in my notes here to worry about Paul Reed this afternoon for what hedid at all, not at all. So where do you fall on that Joel PERSON game?

Speaker 21186.82s - 1192.86s

I thought that he settled down at one point where I was like, okay, he's playing under control.

Speaker 31193.28s - 1195.26s

I thought he was good offensively enough.

Speaker 21195.64s - 1242.5s

A couple of four shots there where I didn't think he needed to take a few of those shots, but because of the offense, he didn't trust anybody else to shoot the basketball. So what he does oftentimes is if they are not going to make shots, I'm going to take a tougher shot because I think for me, I have a better shot of making the shot. Sometimes you like that? Yeah. Sometimes you don't, and he got away from it. And then with the fatigue, you and I talked about it. One of my cousins text me and said the guy is fried right now.He can't do anything. So, yeah, you know, it's just one of those things where he's out there in a bad wheel. He's doing everything that he can do. And as I look at Martian Lynch Day, you know, say it Devon, call him a fraud.

Speaker 31243.76s - 1266.06s

I'm not calling him a fraud. I'm not going to do that. I'm not calling him a fraud because I thought there were opportunities for others to pick, uplift him a little bit more in that time out there on the floor. Well, and look, he's playing, and I hate that this is just priced in what his career is. He's playing on an extremely screwed up knee right now. Yeah, he's.And he's gotten it out, and he played the entire second half, which is difficult for him. And you even

Speaker 21266.06s - 1268.18s

mentioned it. When we talk about his impact

Speaker 31268.18s - 1270.04s

and effect on the floor, they were afraid

Speaker 21270.04s - 1271.84s

to go to the rim for a long time because

Speaker 31271.84s - 1274.16s

they knew that him challenging

Speaker 21274.16s - 1282.02s

him challenging him at the room was just not working. Then they realized that he was a little fatigue himself. They saw that he wasn't right, and then they

Speaker 31282.02s - 1353.22s

made the better of it. That's the reason he's the plus one. And I think throughout his career, even though Joel PERSON has been disappointing offensively in his career in the playoffs, obviously has had a disappointing overall playoffs as well. The one thing that probably got underrated, even when he was hurt last year against Boston GPE, his impact just being around the rim, like, I don't care how good these guys are as drivers. They're afraid to go out of them. And, you know, OG PERSON made like one, but he, I bet't care how good these guys are as drivers. They're afraid to go out of them. And, you know, OG made like one, but he, I bet you he missed two or three. And that he just threw up. That was a complete prayer, right? He just threw it up. Yeah.So I think the reason he ends up being a plus one at the end of the game is that he makes enough of those plays. And the Sixers get those four point, five point swings by those shots get missed. And by the way, the guy always crashes into the front row because it's so hard to score against him. And they end up getting enough of those. So that's a big deal. I love this toughness.I love this passing in the first half. He did hit over five and a half assists, barely six CARDINAL. But he did throw some turnovers in the third quarter. And that was, again, I don't know if that was Ubra, not catching the ball. But I would say the disappointment for me is that what he has built with Tyrese Maxi this year,

Speaker 41353.64s - 1415.8s

that two-man game, that spontaneous level of basketball, where it's just so hard to guard, right? Where you can run a pick and roll. You can run Maxi off screens. You can run dribble handoffs and get back to the second and third action. I thought that was going to be much more potent in the tough moments in the playoffs, right? When a defense like the Knicks ORG is locked in and they know what you're running, that can be kind of a very effective way to go about it because if you had that spontaneous set, you don't know you're kind of just reading and playing off each other. That's really difficult to guard. And I guess I'm disappointed. I know Joelle was guessed that they weren't able to get anything out of that. And look, some of it is they put Anionobi on him. So maybe the Sixers ORG went away from it because the Knickswould have been able to more easily switch that screen. But I found that disappointing because, again, like, look, 33 points in the last two quarters. It's just not enough with the firepower. And frankly, like, their shot making was incredible in game three.

Speaker 21415.8s - 1420.02s

You seen the last three quarter DATE? I mean, last two quarters DATE, sorry. 43. Oh, you're right.

Speaker 31420.08s - 1421.4s

You're right. I'm looking at that wrong.

Speaker 21421.46s - 1471.1s

No, it's okay. No. 43 points, but 16 in the fourth quarter. Just not enough. And you knew this was going to be a dragout. I know. You had to find a way to score to your point on that. Then we'll get to our quick break. We got a super chat. We'll get to in just a minute as well. When you bring up that, when it comes to the fact that you haven't beat in their two-man game. We thought we were at a point, though.Even in a playoff game, when things get bogged down, you can go to your two-man game to stop a break, to stop a run by the opposing team. And we did not see that enough tonight for the Philadelphia 76s ORG. All right, people, I know you're frustrated with this loss. It's very disappointing a lot of things. We're frustrated a little bit too. But as we sit here and tell you, yes, you come to us to help you calm down. We're not really doing a great job of calming you down, I don't think, and rightfully so.

to get some help as you try to cope with this basketball game. Again, our show presented by BetterHelp ORG. We also have to tell you about some other friends that we have, and that is from our great friends. Great drink that we now have as part of our overall channel, as P-H-L-Y sports and P-H-L-Y-6ers,and that's Alipop, the world's first functional soda with a classic soda tastes and the benefits of plant-based fiber, prebiotics, and other botanical ingredients to support gut health. Ali-pop is a new kind of soda with only 2 to 5 grams of sugarand just 9 grams QUANTITY of sugar and just nine grams of fiber per can. It's now available online and available in almost 30,000 retailers nationwide, including the most recent launch at all Wawa ORG stores. You know we all go to one spot and that's Wai ORG to get everything that we need, but they now have our favorite soda, olipopas. Debuting Wawa ORG couldn't be more of a match made in heaven. A delicious, healthy drink meets a convenience store,as we know here in the Delaware Valley LOC, both adored by a cult following. The two flavors debuting right now in Wawa ORG, our classic group beer, and strawberry vanilla, the two most popular flavors right now. But if you want to go get the strawberry, the cherry vanilla, that's available, watermelon lime. They have that one as well. Go to the website, check it out. It's a new kind of soda again, how important it is. Health-wise, for you, almost every American NORP has some sort of relationship with soda from their childhood. I'm guilty of it as well.Rich is also, some people grew up with drinking it all the time, and then they quit. Well, a good way to come back to soda, our good friends from Ali Pop ORG, go check it out. They conducted a study that showed that their Ali ORG-smart formulation booge beneficial gut bacteria and generates metabolites supporting digestive and overall health. All you have to do is use the code P-H-L-Y-20 for 25% off of their next Alipop PRODUCT order. The discount only applies to one-time orders, not to subscription orders.Alipop is sold online at drinkolipop.com plus Amazon ORG, and available in almost 30,000 retailers nationwide, including Wawa, Target, Sproutes, Wegman's, Choprite, and Go Puff PRODUCT. All right, welcome back. Let's get to our super chat here that we have, and then we'll get to the conversation. We need to talk a lot more about, let's get to one of our two super chats here as we check in here. We'll get to Tyrese Max two super chats here as we check in here. We'll get to Tyreece Max in just the second. But we got to get to one. Let's go to our first one. That is from, let's see who we have here. Coach Lowell Ricketts PERSON, we appreciate it coaches already. What up, Coach? New York with 13 offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter. Hardinstein PERSON didn't even play WTF. I agree, coach. I agree. Just really

Speaker 31748.74s - 1754.98s

pathetic. And how many did Joe have? Joe had one rebound. So the one countered.

Speaker 21754.98s - 1760.22s

Offensive rebound or one rebound in the fourth quarter? He had one rebound in the fourth quarter and that was a

Speaker 01760.22s - 1783.64s

defensive rebound. So the one countered all the points we made about MB, because I think we're trying to be measured and trying to be given some degree of sympathy because he had to play the entire fourth quarter because they absolutely stink without him. You know, when you look at his stats in the fourth quarter, he had one point. He had one rebound, one assist, and he was 0 for 5 from the field.

Speaker 31784.64s - 1806.78s

And we're not going to win a lot of games when it's a tight game, and that's the case, too. And that's been, unfortunately, a big part of his career. So I understand why some people would say, hey, you guys aren't being hard enough on him. It's a lot, right? It's a lot. And I think trying to process and trying to parse out who to blame, you can really look up and down the roster. But I think he certainly deserves some of that criticism for sure.

Speaker 21807.08s - 1838.78s

Yeah, absolutely does. Coach, hey, got to point at the big fellow there too. Even when that one that you talked about looked like it should have been an offensive rebound by Embed PERSON, he tipped it because he couldn't jump, but he can't tip it. Got to grab it, got to get a hand on it, and try to squeeze the pill there. Squeeze the pill and don't let anybody get it because not only would have gone off of him out of bounds it wind up goingoff of one of his teammates and then going out of bounds turnover well possession still in favor

Speaker 31838.78s - 1853.24s

of the new york next you mentioned you mentioned squeeze the pill by the way and this wasn't just joel savius harris who again stunk like it's it cannot come soon enough You mentioned Squeeze the Pill, by the way, and this wasn't just Joel PERSON. Tobias Harris PERSON, who, again, stunk. Like, it cannot come soon enough for that guy to not be a Philadelphia 706 PRODUCT. He is playing.

Speaker 41854.62s - 1856.14s

The rain is almost over. He's just giving you absolutely nothing.

Speaker 21856.3s - 1858.8s

And probably this was how it had to end, right?

Speaker 41858.92s - 1873.26s

Like, he couldn't just go out and play, like, normal average basketball. He's just not giving you enough. He's making $39 million. And what does he have there? He has 10 points. And part of it, too, we mentioned Maxie needs to be better in those Paul Reed minutes.Hey, Tobias Harris PERSON is on the floor.

Speaker 21873.26s - 1876.52s

He's out there too. You're right. You're allowed to make a couple buckets, Tobias PERSON. You're right.

Speaker 31877.52s - 1968.1s

I thought his hands were terrible. I thought Ubre PERSON's hands were terrible. There was one play where Maxi, I think, had the board. And of course, Tobias PERSON then hits that one out of his hands. There was like no Nick PERSON even in his way. They justall up and down the line of Batum really bad at squeezing the pill as well in terms of it. It was rough. And I will say, like, as much as M. Beat and Maxi struggled, and they deserved their blame. Like, they didn't get a lot from their bench, man. I look at their bench here and Batom PERSON, not a great game from him. You know, he did get seven boards, but 0 for three from the field. Not a great game. Paul Reed, we talked about it on the floor for four minutes. It was a complete nightmare, even if it's not all his fault. Not good. Campaign was the one guy on the bench that had a little pep in his step. And frankly, it's, it's bad when I'm thinking they probably should have played campaign more than 14 minutes. You think? Yeah, I mean, but it shouldn't come to that. The guys ahead of them not bad. And also De Anthony Melt, we should mention, played seven minutes, kind of a damaging seven minutes, like, let, you mentioned one of the most unacceptable plays of the game.Let's Devensonzo just walk to the rim on a baseline out of bounds play fouls brunson gives up a three point play i got nice play by brunson but d'anthony come on you need to be better than that and i i don't think it's really d anthony's PERSON fault i think it's a matter of really hard to throw somebody who has not played in a few weeks into that big of a game, that intense of a game, and the Sixers

Speaker 21968.1s - 1980.02s

paid for it. Yeah, I got to come back here, my friend, Remo K PERSON, I'm with you on this one. Damn, the Bulls not trading us drumming. He would have been so useful in this

Speaker 31980.02s - 1987.98s

series just for rebounding alone. It's a great point. Remo K PERSON, we're back. We're back. Me and you together, we're back. Because we agree on that. Great point, Remo PERSON. Because you're right.

Speaker 21988.54s - 1999.26s

If he was here in those minutes, you're not forced to keep him beat on the floor. You're right, Remo K. And rebounds are probably squeezed. That is so true.

Speaker 31999.46s - 2003.86s

And by the way, the Bulls ORG held on the drum end instead of getting two second round picks

Speaker 02003.86s - 2005.58s

all to get into the playing game.

Speaker 22005.58s - 2010.14s

Well, they hosted one game, Devon. They got to beat the Hawks in the 10-9 game.

Speaker 42010.52s - 2014.16s

Congratulations to the Bulls ORG, one of the worst front offices in the league.

Speaker 02014.46s - 2043.04s

No, but that honestly was a killer, right? And we kind of, I think we glossed over it maybe over the past month or so of the season, just because when Joel PERSON wasn't playing playing like we thought yeah drummond would be helpful but he really would be helpful in this series i am generally a paul reed PERSON can give you 10 minutes i agree but drummond the one thing that he is great at is rebounding and i think in this matchup that would have come really in handy definitely would have definitely would have let's get to our

Speaker 22043.04s - 2069.04s

next uh super chat. I ran out of space in my chat room here, so can you just throw it up on the screen, Jules PERSON, and I'll read it as it pops up because everything about this whole game, man, I just can't believe that this thing is not tied up to two-twoafter this one because they absolutely needed this one to, oh, man, they needed this one to even this series up to two.

Speaker 32069.18s - 2077.9s

Good point from Alex PERSON in the chat. Beball Paul PERSON has that weird contract where it does not get guaranteed if the Sixers don't make the second round.

Speaker 22077.9s - 2080.04s

If they don't make the second round. But there was the old Danny A.

Speaker 32080.1s - 2093.98s

And the rest of the contract is also guaranteed should they make it to the second round. So you absolutely right. Davon, aka Schoolboy Beats PERSON, says nurses a stubborn SOB. He has to take wrist KJ greater than Toby PERSON.

Speaker 22096.06s - 2098.16s

I, look, Tobias PERSON is giving him nothing.

Speaker 32098.16s - 2099.16s

I wouldn't go KJ PERSON.

Speaker 22099.28s - 2101.66s

I would probably go Ricky PERSON in that spot.

Speaker 32102.22s - 2105.78s

But to your point, you're not wrong where at some point, even with

Speaker 22105.78s - 2107.82s

his eight rebounds, they weren't felt.

Speaker 32108.24s - 2111.06s

Early on, you know when his rebounds were felt in that first quarter?

Speaker 22111.96s - 2115.74s

After that, Tobias Harris's PERSON rebounds weren't felt. They weren't impactful.

Speaker 32116.12s - 2121.46s

So this is a stat from Peralob who's like the famous NBA ORG Gambler.

Speaker 22121.56s - 2121.7s

Yeah.

Speaker 32121.84s - 2124.04s

This is so freaking embarrassing.

Speaker 22124.56s - 2126.94s

The Knicks had a 73% PERCENT.

Speaker 32126.94s - 2136.1s

So that means every miss, they're rebounded 73% of those misses in the 32 offensive possessions that Hartenstein PERSON.

Speaker 22137.02s - 2166.48s

Hartnstein PERSON, I keep messing that up, was off the floor. That is embarrassing. We talked about this before the game. If they're going to play precious, the offensive rebounding, maybe the spacing will improve. Maybe Brunson PERSON will get cleaner looks. The offensive rebounding should not get to that level. They scored 19 points of offensive rebounds. Sivan PERSON, look at the score. It's up in the left corner of the screen. How many points in the Sixers ORG lose by? Five.Five. Five. Second chance points.

Speaker 32167.36s - 2168.96s

You know what the number was, don't you?

Speaker 22169.76s - 2172.46s

21 to 9, as I look at JP PERSON here.

Speaker 32172.48s - 2173.48s

That is unbelievable.

Speaker 22173.74s - 2191.56s

21 to 9. I think I have it 9. Maybe I'm giving them a few more points, more credit. 21 to 9, it was actually 21 to 8 second chance points sorry I lie bad job by me so 21 8 CARDINAL and what this

Speaker 32191.56s - 2198.08s

reminds me of by the way this what a pro wants commercial is maybe the worst ad in the history of

Speaker 02198.08s - 2203.38s

television I like both of these guys as players but I think everybody can agree that commercial stinks

Speaker 42203.38s - 2205.54s

AT&T ORG get rid of it.

Speaker 02206.98s - 2248.84s

Fire whoever wrote that ad. Let's get it together. Oh, man. It's brutal. And look, a couple years ago, when Nick Nurse was the coach of Toronto, I remember coming into the series, everybody thought, look, the Raptors ORG, the only way they can beat the Sixers ORG, they're not as skilled, is by winning the possession game. They were a great offensive rebounding team. They were a great fast break team. They had to win the host, a great forcing turnovers team. And the Sixers ORG largely won that series because that wasn't a disaster. Like they got beat on the offensive boards in one of the games, but for the most part, they kept it within reason. And the disappointing thing, it's the same exact thing in this series, although Jalen Brunsonis a better player than anybody on that Raptors ORG team.

Speaker 32249.92s - 2275.88s

They just need to keep it like within reason. And they got to the fourth quarter and it was a disaster. It was, I tweeted it out. It was crisis level defensive rebounding. And that's a really tough way to lose for your fan base, man. It's one thing to lose.Ah, you know, they made threes. They got to the line a little bit more. Like those type of things. No, man, you just got outworked, out tough, out rebounded, and you got out tough by shorter dudes.

Speaker 22276.44s - 2276.72s

Crazy.

Speaker 32276.9s - 2277.32s

Brutal.

Speaker 22277.56s - 2278.68s

Another super chat here.

Speaker 32279.16s - 2283.36s

MB, DBF, public service announcement.

Speaker 22283.96s - 2284.94s

Mori is a fraud.

Speaker 32287.18s - 2287.38s

Okay.

Speaker 22287.42s - 2287.78s

There's that.

Speaker 32288.78s - 2331.24s

So there's that. M.B. So I will say one thing about Darrell Mori PERSON. He, this whole season, even last year when they had that very, I would say, disappointing offseason, even if it ends up being the right thing, not paying James Hardin PERSON.But it certainly was not like a satisfying offseason as, you know, you're waiting, trying to trade hard in, only signing guys, the minimum contracts. Darry has said this entire season that it would be worth it. This cap space and this newCBA ORG, all these other teams. Maybe he's talking about a team like Phoenix who's going to pay a ton of luxury tax. It's going to be worth it. When we are the team with cap space, we are the team with a lot of assets. It's going to help us ton of luxury tax. It's going to be worth it. When we are the team with Cap Space, we are the team with a lot of assets. It's going to help us next year. It better be worth it, is all I'm saying,

Speaker 02331.32s - 2335.12s

because you had a good enough team to make a little bit of a run here.

Speaker 42335.66s - 2339.58s

And, you know, I can't get mad at Nico Baton PERSON that much.

Speaker 22339.58s - 2341.62s

As much as Kelly Ubrey PERSON frustrated me,

Speaker 42341.88s - 2350.04s

after a couple of those offensive boards, he had some really bad fouls, the one where he found McBride on the three-point shot. I can't be that mad at Kelly Uber.

Speaker 32350.2s - 2365.28s

Like, he's given you a decent amount for a guy on a minimum contract. Darry was the guy that said signing these guys and keep staying patient, would be worth it in the off season. So he better be right, is so I'm sorry. Ubre finished with 19 points.

Speaker 22365.58s - 2365.9s

Yeah.

Speaker 32367s - 2368.38s

Offensively, we asked for that.

Speaker 22369.12s - 2370.08s

He gave it to you.

Speaker 32370.32s - 2382.94s

You needed more from elsewhere to win this basketball game. Again, we'll get the Tari PRODUCT's maxi. He gives you a 19. I mean, like, he's way more involved than Tobias Harris's PERSON, you know? So. Way more. Can't be hating on that.

Speaker 22383.1s - 2390.04s

Way more. Front running fan base also checks in and the Super Chat. We got a lot of Super Chats rolling in. We appreciate Julius Fitzgeron PERSON. He's with us.

Speaker 32390.46s - 2400.58s

F. and DeRosen missing those two free throws against the Knicks ORG. Cost them being number two seats. Derek and I were doing the third seed. We were doing the pod live. That was a great game. Chicago ORG really tried.

Speaker 22400.58s - 2401.12s

Overtown, wasn't it?

Speaker 42401.26s - 2402.26s

Yeah, they tried.

Speaker 22402.36s - 2453.4s

And DeRosen also-running fan base. Also, he had a good look at like a about a 13, 14-footer QUANTITY, got right into his office. Just pulled the string on it. So look, the Knicks ORG, I will give them credit. Outside of Tom Tibado's PERSON incessant whining about the officials, they're tough, man. Tough team.Play hard. He did a nice job. A lot of respect for them. Nice job. Coach Skip B-ball PERSON on Twitter. Just checking my Twitter here. And my guy, Skip, says Nick Nurse did a bad job today, specifically in the third quarter. I would have gotten rest for Embed when Brunson got hurt or when Hartenstein got his fifth foul. Reed PERSON versus Precious isn't about even. Embed PERSON is dead tired. You can't get a rebound shaking my head. It's so frustrating.I agree.

Speaker 32453.52s - 2518.56s

And we can talk about whether he should be that guest, but, you know, I read his stats already. You know, zero for five from the field, one rebound one assist. If that is what you were going to get from him in the fourth quarter, you have to sit him, unfortunately. If that's what it takes to get him to recharge the batteries, yeah, so I agree.I think in hindsight, we didn't know what the right call was in real time, but I think with hindsight and just knowing that Joelle has never done that, probably should have rolled the dice. But like, look, the fact that they are, Derek PERSON had the stat. They are getting so embarrassingly outscored when Joelle is off the floor in this series. Like, it's comical. It's the thing, too, that's the worst part of the sixers because you can blame Joel for fading in the fourth quarter. You can blame him for, in some cases, not stepping up to the moment. They suck when he doesn't play. Like, he leaves the floor in the first quarter. It's embarrassing. This doesn't happen to anybody else. It's ridiculous.

Speaker 22518.88s - 2801.78s

It's insane. That's why we were saying, hey, while Brunson is off the floor, you need to win those minutes. The Knicks are winning the minutes when the beat is off. Sixers need to do the same thing when Jaylon Brunson is off the floor, you need to win those minutes. The Knicks are winning the minutes when the beat is off. Sixers need to do the same thing when Jalen Brunson PERSON is off the floor. We'll get to, again, we have to talk about Tauri's Maxi, just 23 points. And this one, again, shot poorly from the field, looking for some fouls when he neededto play through that. We've seen that before. We've got to talk about him a little bit. We'll get to Derek and Kyle PERSON at some point after they're done with postgame availability at the arena in South Philly. But got to tell you about our good friends from True Mark Financial ORG credit union when you join a credit union like True Mark Financial ORG. Speaker 42801.86s - 2861.76s

Not quite as much as you. Not quite as much? Yeah. It's bad, man. I'm like, this. All right, let me go wash my face.I got to go in the middle of the day. I just, why let me watch my face and get all this stuff off of me. Maybe that helps in a little bit. Before we get the Tarius Max PRODUCT, we're going to check in with the guysat the arena as Kyle PERSON and Derek are about to check in with us because this is a tough one and I want to hear what the guys had to say after hearing from the players, the head coach, maybe even getting to the visiting locker room. Who knows, those guys are all over the place in the bows of the arena. And we know what it's like, man. Just kind of figure it all out, get to here, get to there. And it's unfortunate because we've been through this now. What is this? Playoff number eight for Jewel or seven? Seven. Seven?Playoff number seven for Jewel PERSON and B. And it's unfortunate that this is what we have to go through here with this group. And we know

Speaker 32861.76s - 2908.98s

the pain there. Minus 38 from 33 minutes without him in this series. Devon, I mentioned they're plus four overall in the series and somehow have lost. Like if they just play even, they're fine, but they've had, look, they got their ass kicked on the boardsin game one and in game four down the stretcher. But they also just like, if they just play even in the four minutes he sits. Brutal. It's the same story, too. It's just it's Groundhog Day all over again here. It's a really tough team to watch. It's especially with all, everybody in the chat, I'm sure, has been here for all seven of those years DATE. For them to continually have to watch this, it's not great. I feel for you guys.

Speaker 22908.98s - 2914.24s

Yeah, our buddy Todd D. Smallwood says in the chat, Paul Reed is a minus 38.

Speaker 32914.44s - 2919.96s

A minus 38. In 33 minutes. In the series. But Devon says Paul Reed PERSON is not the problem. Come on, Devon.

Speaker 22920.86s - 2921.82s

Well, here we go again.

Speaker 32922.12s - 2923.42s

It's more than him.

Speaker 22923.52s - 2924.26s

I mean, I don't think he's.

Speaker 32924.6s - 2925.88s

No one said he's great. He's not the solution. don't think he's... No one said he's great.

Speaker 22925.88s - 2926.5s

He's not the solution.

Speaker 32926.88s - 2927.8s

Yeah, he's not the solution.

Speaker 22927.88s - 2937.26s

No one said he's great, but you're letting off the hook there, Tadne PERSON. When Tobias Harris and Tarius Maxia PERSON are there to also score the basketball when he's on the floor with them.

Speaker 32937.94s - 2956.18s

So let's talk about Maxie PERSON, because I think you wanted to get to him. I will just start by saying that was a disappointing performance for him. I think, you know, he just was not very comfortable in getting into his sets. Obviously, didn't shoot it quite as well. What do you think was the big issue from Tyrese Maxie in this game?

Speaker 22956.18s - 3061.76s

I felt like he got away from who he has been to become what we thought he will be in this series to help uplift him and maybe even potentially push them past the series. So as a result, he got sped up at times. He's fast. But you can be fast and also be sped up to get away from what you have dictated against a defense so much during the season and even in these first three games against the New YorkKnicks ORG. I didn't think that he really took advantage of the opportunity when he had to match up that he may have won it for a brief second and then just go right at him. A couple of those three pointers, we both thought he settled on a couple of those threepointers on the looks and then he missed a bad one wide open off of NB, a great pass out of a double team which would have put the sixes up two after they were down one there in that fourth quarter.I think it was like 92-89 and he missed it. No, it was 90-89 CARDINAL and he missed it. It would have put up 92-90, and he missed a three-point or so that one was tough. But let's go to the arena and check in with Kyle PERSON and Derek as Kyle is yelling at us in the chat. Kyle PERSON, we're already in the bad move. Don't make us come us come back at you man even though you've done a great job here uh here uh covering this team but hey man as we're in a bad move because of how things ultimately played out by this basketballteam in the end where the 76 is now 3-1 in this series, because a theme that has been very common between these two teams, the tougher team out-hustled the not tough team there in the end when it really mattered to come away with this victory once again to have a 3-1 series lead for the New York Knicks ORG.

Speaker 03062.58s - 3071.46s

Yeah, and look, I heard the streets are saying it's Devon's fault because he doesn't want to pin all the blame on Paul Reed PERSON. So hashtag blame Devon after that game, obviously.

Speaker 23072.12s - 3076.2s

You weren't out there boxing out and grabbing rebounds and what have you.

Speaker 13076.74s - 3084.4s

And yeah, I think it's just, it's ultra frustrating specifically because you know this is New York's

Speaker 43084.4s - 3085.58s

identity, right?

Speaker 13085.66s - 3087.5s

Like you come into the series.

Speaker 43088.08s - 3090s

This is the type of team they are.

Speaker 13090.12s - 3129.88s

They're a possession valuing, offensive rebounding, tough, physical, crash the glass team. And for the final 12 minutes of this game, they just showed no either interest or ability to pull down defensive rebounds. Some of that comes down to, I'm sure you guys have talked about it quite a bit. The decision to play Joelle and B, the entire second half, ultimately decided this game. And I think you could certainly make the argument for why they did it. Brunson PERSON goes to the locker room. They've been getting killed in all these minutes without Joel PERSON, the whole series. This is your opportunity. Hey, go on a little run here, pad the lead a little bit. You don't know

Speaker 03129.88s - 3158.78s

if or when Brunson's coming back. They got played to a standstill by the Knicks ORG without Brunson with Joel on the floor in those minutes. So you took a gamble and you rolled snake eyes and everything else flowed from there because I thought it was clear, Joelle had no legs, no gas, the rest of that quarter, and everything that went wrong was basically a product of that. So what do you guys think? Biggest issue on offense in the fourth quarter,

Speaker 33158.78s - 3168.8s

I think they finished with 16 points. Do you think it is just that Joelle was gassed? I mean, I thought we saw him standing in the corner on a lot of those possessions. What did you guys think?

Speaker 13169.66s - 3204.96s

No, Joe PERSON was on the wings or in the corner for a good chunk of those possessions. He wasn't even really being able to use his gravity as a screener in any kind of meaningful way to get Max PERSON going. And then Maxi looked passive at times.Everybody else was passing up open shots it was a comedy of problems that doomed them and then you know you had the five minutes where they didn't score they also gave up give or take a million offensive rebounds there in that fourth quarter i think it was uh what was the sat harlalabob had were in the 32 possessions that uh yeah

Speaker 03207.6s - 3207.8s

they just got worked on the glass.

Speaker 43211.7s - 3215.94s

And you were looking at there, Hartnstein picked up his fifth foul. You had a couple of minutes stretched there without Brunson PERSON on the floor. And I think you had the lead still at that time.

Speaker 03216.02s - 3219.2s

You're like, all right, they're in a pretty good spot. But when Joel Embed PERSON is nowhere near looking

Speaker 43219.2s - 3225.34s

like Joelle and B, and this is going back to the decision to play him the entire 24, you have to, like, the reason that you need Jewel and B to look like Juelan PERSON the entire 24, you have to, like, the reason that,

Speaker 13228.08s - 3308.56s

you need Jewel PERSON and B to look like Jewel and B, and for much of the fourth quarter in that game, he didn't look anywhere near it. There are some superstars where you can be like, all right, you're going to play the entire 24 in the second half. Jewel and B had never done it before tonight in his career. And there's a reason for that, because when you start, you know, there's diminishing returns, the more and more you ask him down a stretch like that, he needs that four minute he needs that four like there is after four years so minutes you just get much less at joel and bid i was pretty stunned that they went the way that they did i understand the reasoning why you brought up the paul reeds PERSON uh plus minus on the series what is it negative 38 that's not really fair to paul because paul is the only player on the team who never plays alongside Joel Embed PERSON.That's really a reflection of how this team looks without Joel Embed PERSON on the floor. They've been consistently burned each and every game without Embed PERSON on the court. But that is mostly because we can go down Tobias Harris PERSON. We can go down not getting enough from your bench. I think they had one point entering in the fourth quarter. And you had an off maxy night and they just felt like they couldn't buy even four minutes about jerome beat on the floor and that's a serious a seriousproblem there's really no team in a league that can consistently do that or you can't even even the nuggets can buy four minutes without yokech PERSON on the floor and he's the biggest part of an offense in the nb a it's just astonishing that we're sitting here talking about this for like the eighth straight year they need to be able to buy four minutes at a time without your meat on the floor. They just can't do it.It's infuriating.

Speaker 23310.16s - 3338.14s

And Derek PERSON, as you bring up the maxi piece of him just having an off night in a low-scoring game like this one where they only score 92 points, what did you see out there this afternoon that caused him to shoot so poorly from the field and just seem at least to me from back here at Wicked Wolf ORG where he just did not seem himself where he normally dictates things and they allowed the defense in a sense dictate how he was going to play against them

Speaker 43338.14s - 3347.92s

so we'll we'll get to Derek PERSON's side of it here for sure for. For me, I thought it was a multitude of things, right?

Speaker 03348.02s - 3351.94s

Like I do think Duce McBride did a pretty good job on him,

Speaker 43352.12s - 3355.16s

you know, walling him off at times, making him work harder for shots.

Speaker 23355.76s - 3358.44s

Those bench minutes where we're talking about all kinds of people, right?

Speaker 03358.52s - 3473.22s

Like Paul Reed is a big flashpoint or Tobias Harris PERSON, but Tyrese has not been good enough offensively in those non-Jowell minutes, right, where you're playing backups and you get some favorable matchups. Frankly, I think New York GPE did a good job of, you know, defending him off the ball, using OG's length and size to deny him the ball. And so they're trying to get into actions where Tyrese PRODUCT is not bringing the ball up the floor, and then he never ends up touching it. And so you're getting shots from the likes of Ubre, Paul Reed PERSON, and some other guys.I think in the fourth quarter in the second half, if you look at how we're just talking about Joel PERSON being in the corner or just kind of standing around on different possessions, Tyrese PRODUCT is going to have to either win in isolation or you're not winning at all if you're not bringing Joel PERSON up to screen. Right? going to have to either win in isolation or you're not winning at all if you're not bringing Joel PERSON up to screen, right? Because Joel, for most of this series and most of this season,Joel is the difference between Maxie PERSON being able to turn that corner, get to the rim, do all the things that we see him do, pull up for threes, or Maxie PERSON having to settle for tough stepback jumpers when he's on his own and in isolation. And so the compounding effect of Joel's fatigue is that all of Maxie PERSON shots are more difficult. Frankly, some of it is also he's just missing shots, right? Like there was a problem with Joel PERSON getting doubled. They're using OG to defend Joel PERSON on the block, throwing him the ball, and then basically auto-dubling at times triple teaming him. And Joel PERSON made some good decisions out of there. Certainly didn't play his best basketball, but make some good decisions. Ball gets the Tyrese PRODUCT or maybe swings another time. And guys are missing open shots. So I think it's a multitude of reasons, but that was one of the rare occasions where I do think Tyrese had a bit of a deer in the headlights look in the second half. Once he was in a bad groove there, he was not sure of himself. And I think it just cascaded the rest of the half. The role player.

Speaker 33473.48s - 3473.84s

Do you got anything?

Speaker 03476.52s - 3481.08s

I was just saying there were so many miscommunications, whether it was the Embed to Maxie PERSON,

Speaker 33481.28s - 3483.62s

where Maxx went one way and Bede PERSON thought he was going the other.

Speaker 13484.02s - 3523.66s

The pass to Ubre PERSON, where it looked like it was a pretty good read, or at least the cut was there, and they just didn't connect on it. There were a lot of missed opportunities, missed shots. They shot like absolute garbage from the perimeter. That always makes the offense look worse down the stretch. And then when you compound that with the fact that you can't get a frequent rebound,I still like as much as the offense was bad down the stretch, and it was bad. They played really good first shot defense against the Knicks ORG. They were down to stretch. They played good enough defense to win. And they just couldn't get a freaking rebound. It was one of the more. I was more maddened by that than I was game one up in New York GPE. I thought that was a worst rebounding performance down a stretch than what we saw in game one. And game one was a worst rebounding performance I've ever seen in person.

Speaker 33530.52s - 3532.36s

So what were they saying in the locker room? Any positivity after that one or no, not really?

Speaker 03537.84s - 3607.62s

I don't know if it was positivity so much as like, well, look, people are counting us out now. We're the seven seed. We're down three one. And you can play with a little bit of freedom if you could spin it that way. But aside from that, guys are getting asked questions about, you know, Joel playing the whole second half. And they're just saying, well, because that's what it probably takes to win or everyone's trying to win. And not a whole lot of answers beyond, we need to play better. We need to do this. We need to stop New York GPE from, you know, pounding us on the glass. And look, they gave credit to New York GPE, certainly. I think if any, if there's any kind of splashy quote, it's that Joelle was a little bit pissed off at the split of fans here today. He didn't go so far as to call out Sixers ORG fans, but he was disappointed in the fact that, you know, this is supposed to be their home arena. And I don't even think it was like 50-50. I do think the Knicks ORG contingent was smaller, but they were much, much louder all throughout the day. Obviously, in the end, in the fourth quarter, you get it because they're way out playing the Sixers ORG when it mattered. But most of the game, the Knicks fans, just they really kick the ass of the Sixers ORG fans pretty sadly.

Speaker 23608.5s - 3652.66s

And even today, guys, after game three, where Tom Tibido PERSON was so frustrated with the, he felt discrepancy and foul calls, it's pretty even this afternoon, 26 for the Knicks ORG and 29 for the 76ers ORG. And they were a plus nine in Makes EVENT, where the New York Knicks missed nine free throws there. And you look at them, and you felt, as that's playing out, and they have the advantage, and of course, you all beat a big part of that. But do you feel like with Nick Nurt PERSON, pardon me, not Nick Nurt, of course, voicing his displeasure after game three and the way this game was played, that his voice, of course, was heard and how things were officiated?

Speaker 13654.72s - 3668.3s

Sure, I mean, it never hurts to lobby the refs. That's why coaches do it. I don't think that was one of the bigger storylines of this game, though. I mean, you have Embed and you have Brunson PERSON both grifting their way to double-digit free throws and outside of that. I think teams pretty much got the free

Speaker 03668.3s - 3711.18s

throws they deserve outside of that Kyle Lowry bullshit three-point foul to start off the game. One of the most incredible grifting plays I've ever seen. But outside of that, look, we can talk about individual calls, but did Timito PERSON's comments maybe swing things a little bit? bit maybe but i think it's probably more that new york was a lot more aggressive team for most of the night especially down a stretch that tends to get rewarded with free throws yeah by the way that that lowry moment just maybe the all-time kyle lowry play just completely ridiculous if if an opposing player had done what he didon the floor, I think Sixers ORG fans would have stormed the court and tried to get them off the floor. That was outrageous.

Speaker 33712.94s - 3721.4s

My old colleague, John Hollinger, said he outflopped Brunson PERSON's flop. It was like pulling a full house after Brunson had three of a kind. So it was good.

Speaker 23721.66s - 3722.8s

Well, I'll give you credit first.

Speaker 33722.86s - 3731.98s

You said it in the moment that you said he outflopped his flop. Yeah, it was going. I don't got anything. Well, fellas, we really

Speaker 23731.98s - 3737.54s

appreciate it. We'll be back tomorrow together at 2.30 as we try to make sense of a little bit more

Speaker 33737.54s - 3742.64s

of what happens where we try to preview what goes on in game number five. Tough win and

Speaker 23742.64s - 3749.72s

losing game four at home. But Sixers ORG need to figure things out to try to keep their season alive. Thanks, Kyle and Derek PERSON.

Speaker 13752.68s - 3795.24s

I just want to say one final thing here because I'm following along with the chat. And it's all about, oh, Maxi's not good enough, or Embed PERSON's the choker, blah, blah, blah. No, this game was a game that I think really the defining point is you don't have a third reliable player. You're probably your third best player in a series. The fact that you have a 30-year-old point guard who was on the waiver wire a couple months ago. And because of that, you had to play Joel Embed, and beat way too many minutes. I think I said 38. I meant 38 if I didn't say 38. But your third best player has been a 38-year-old point guard who you picked up off the waiverwire. And because of that, you feel like you have to play Joel and beat 24 minutes straight down stretch and he had nothing left again. This is a Darrell Mori needs to really use the assets he has got a third star. That's what this is about. For Joel Embed and Tyrese max, he good down the stretch and he had nothing left again. This is a, Darryl Morey needs to really use the assets he has as a third star. That's what this is about. Where Joel Embed and Tyrese PRODUCT did get down the stretch? No, but I think that's directly because they just don't have the talent to overcome either one of those having an off night.

Speaker 23796.46s - 3810.68s

You must have missed the non-Tarise Maxi, everybody, the Tyresexie PERSON slander. And you missed the Paul Reed PERSON slander of him not being good enough as to why, of course, indeed had to be on the floor and all of that.

Speaker 03810.68s - 3817.1s

Like, pulling off of Derek's point, I mean, who was the third best player tonight? Kelly PERSON, right? Like, Kelly PERSON was pretty good. 19.

Speaker 23817.1s - 3835.54s

But you're talking about a guy on a minimum contract who we've ridden the roller coaster with all year. I don't know that it needs to be, I know Darrell PERSON will chase a star, right? Like we're going to be talking about stars for up until July DATE, right? But we look at the contributions New York GPE is getting in the series.

Speaker 03836.44s - 3885.36s

Miles McBride PERSON has made a massive impact on this series. And he's a guy that at times has been like in and out of the rotation prior to the trades that New York made earlier this year. He was not some like, oh, he's definitely going to be one of the dudes for this team when they make it to the playoffs. So like give credit to Josh Hart, give credit to Miles McBride PERSON. Their role players have showed up.The Sixers have gotten zero. And so when you get a subpar Tyrese Maxie game when you try to play joll and bid 24 consecutive minutes and he is not good in the final minutes of the game because he's got nothing left it falls on the rest of these guys you have a 40 million dollar player who's basically just a passenger in the game and a bunch of other guys who couldn't hit shots and that's the story right there all right right. Make sure everybody go and read

Speaker 23885.36s - 3909.34s

All-P-H-L-Y.com to check out the recaps and stories from both Kyle and Derek PERSON, live from the arena. All-P-H-L-Y.com, the newsletter from Rich Hoffman PERSON, right here to my right. Guys, we appreciate your home safely, try to enjoy the rest of your day.At least you get out of the air with some sunlight and try to enjoy the rest of your day. At least you can do that. Get home safe fellas and may I say choose chill to both

Speaker 03909.34s - 3915s

of you. You need to choose chill. You too. Absolutely. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Thanks, Derek PERSON.

Speaker 23915.18s - 3921.04s

Appreciate it. Appreciate it. Thanks, guys. Kyle and Derek PERSON live from the arena here for our post game.

Speaker 03921.6s - 3925.5s

We have another, anything stand out from any anything that they said.

Speaker 43925.58s - 3928.04s

Nothing really came out of the locker room that was unexpected.

Speaker 03928.46s - 3933.62s

The only thing that I wanted to add was to the point that I guess M.B. PERSON made,

Speaker 43933.84s - 3937.54s

you know, again, we didn't hear that his quote live about the Knicks ORG fans.

Speaker 03937.64s - 3938.42s

It was very loud.

Speaker 43938.96s - 3946.74s

It probably wasn't 50-50, but when a road fan base takes over an arena or a field,

Speaker 03947.12s - 3951.62s

like even if it's 20%, 30%, they are almost always much louder.

Speaker 43951.78s - 3953.46s

I have seen that in person.

Speaker 03954.02s - 3956.06s

The game that sticks out to me that I covered,

Speaker 33956.58s - 3965.4s

the Eagles played the Chargers ORG at that little soccer stadium out in L.A. Before they moved into the new building.

Speaker 23965.58s - 4000s

Yeah. And look, it was probably, that was probably close to 50-50, but again, they were 100% louder. We have seen that with the Eagles ORG. So unfortunately, I don't think any other fan base would do that to the Sixers ORG, but the Knicks ORG fan base is huge. They're, like, starving for a winner, and unfortunately they are from like an hour and a half to two hours up the road. So it's not certainly an easy trip on a Sunday afternoon. Yep. You could hear it through the television. Yes, you could. When the basketball score by New York GPE, you could you could absolutely hear it. And that's always how it's been with them. Regular

Speaker 34000s - 4004.84s

season. Oh yeah. They've traveled really well. They haven't taken over the arena like that.

Speaker 24004.84s - 4016.3s

But when they were bad in those early MBEed Simmons PERSON years and the signatures would beat them, they still showed up for the regular season games. They always have similar to the Mets showing up at CVP ORG.

Speaker 34016.5s - 4017.12s

Yep, yep.

Speaker 24017.24s - 4055.82s

All right, let's get to a couple of super chats here. Mitchell Cruz PERSON. As a Knicks fan, as a Nixon PERSON basketball fan, I love your content. We thank you. Mitch PERSON. Appreciate it.Thanks, Mitch PERSON. Yeah, we appreciate that. Not happy about how things are going with your team. And isn't that the funny thing? I was talking to someone the other day, and they were speaking about off the air and all. They were talking about how the Knicks ORG and you're annoyed by their players. You're knowed by their players because it's happening to you. If they were on your team, you would love it because they're doing the things that we're now basing our show around of why the sixers are right now down 3-1 and lost this basketball game.

Speaker 34056.02s - 4080.64s

Absolutely. I have a ton of respect for those guys. The only thing they've done that has annoyed me all series is Tibbs complaining about Jalen Brunson's PERSON whistle. Yes. But in general... hey, guess what?Nick Niggers complains about Joel PERSON and B's whistle. Yeah, maybe not quite as shamelessly as Tips. But, okay, regardless, that's like 3% of the overall product. Tibbs PERSON has got those guys playing really hard. I really do respect those guys. They play good brand of hoops.Yep.

Speaker 24081s - 4109.4s

And by the way, people, if you like those guys when they were Villanova ORG Wildcats, don't hate them now just because they are in the New York Knick ORG uniform. Yes, and they hate them now in the series, but you still like those guys. They just happen to be doing it to your team right now where Jalen puts up 47 in this one. Bernard McCoy, don't agree with the Maxi take. One thing Doc has over Nick Ners is he made Maxi drive. Wouldn't be in this position if we had Siakum with DeRosen.

Speaker 34111.74s - 4113.94s

Well, again, that comes back to Darry.

Speaker 24114.02s - 4115.6s

He thinks he can do better than that this offseason.

Speaker 34115.76s - 4117.78s

We will see. We will see.

Speaker 24118.26s - 4120.3s

We'll have a lot of that conversation, too.

Speaker 34120.36s - 4123.52s

Yeah, we're not there yet. They're still got to lose another game.

Speaker 24123.52s - 4127.86s

A lot of Darry blame in the chat today, even Super Chats, but also in the regular chat. Yeah, we're not there yet. In the off season. They still got to lose another game. A lot of Darry Mori blame in the chat today, even Super Chats, but also in the regular chat. Yeah.

Speaker 34129.04s - 4178.1s

So I guess the way I would close this is like, you know, the Sixers ORG, they just got out toughed in this game. And I think they have the ability to climb back in the series. I think it's going to be really freaking hard, considering every game is super close and for them to have zero margin for error now because of what happened at the end of game two and this game as well. We'll see. But if the Sixers ORG, like, show me something, you know? Like, come back in game five. What's that? Tuesday night? Tuesday night.Tuesday night. And, like, let's see a little bit of toughness. Like, let's see, let's see you play like your season is actually on the line. If the Knicks ORG in that game, if they just make a bunch of threes, you know, if it's a Josh Hart PERSON is on fire type of game, all right, and you lose that way. I mean, you know, I'm sure the postgame pot will be lively regardless if it's an L.

Speaker 44178.5s - 4189.54s

But I think we can probably stomach that a little more. Don't lose this way again. Like, it's, I know they are a really talented offensive rebounding team. Enough. So how do you think now we'll be together on Tuesday night,

Speaker 24189.64s - 4201.86s

but how do you think this one for you right now? How do you think that one has to play out for you? We'll have an opportunity to talk about a little bit more, but just your instant reaction game five, do you think they have enough in them to respond and force the game six?

Speaker 34202.1s - 4249.98s

I think it's going to be close because every game in this series has been close. Do they have enough to learn from their lesson? They're definitely going to go to Precious against Joelle again. They're not going to be afraid to put OG andOG on Joel PERSON, precious technically at the five, even though he's not guarding him. By the way, part of the reason Kelly Ubrae PERSON had a bunch of points was he had a huge mismatch with Prec ORG pressure to chew on him. You'd probably have to press that button harder or get more out of it because he should really not be able to guard him.I think the game's going to be close, but I have no idea if they're going to win. And frankly, if this series is any indication, they're at least 0 for 2. Game 1 LAW was kind of close at the end. They're 0 for 3 in those games. So maybe at some point the bounces are going to go their way, but they have to make the bounces go their way. Go grab a damn rebound.

Speaker 24250.28s - 4255.24s

Yep. My buddy 215, Philly says, Devon, what are you talking about? I hate those guys now.

Speaker 34256.28s - 4256.92s

That's fair to.

Speaker 24257.06s - 4257.5s

I mean, it's fair.

Speaker 34257.58s - 4258.82s

Of course, in the moment, I get it.

Speaker 24258.88s - 4281.98s

You're going to hate them because they're knocking out your team, and they're playing harder and they're doing the stuff that they're doing. That's fandom. That's fandom. Yeah, absolutely. I get fandom. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.I get it. Yeah. I just, my thing is always, it's fandom. They're crushing your team right now in the series. In the all season, you wanted, you wanted Dante DiVincenzo PERSON. At the draft, of course, why didn't you draft Jalen Brunson PERSON?That's my point.

Speaker 34283.22s - 4283.38s

They're the same guys.

Speaker 14283.58s - 4283.96s

Yeah.

Speaker 34285.72s - 4305.88s

They just happen to be wearing your opponent, your divisional opponent, and crushing you right now. So I get that part. That's why I said it. Yeah.Yeah. I don't like it that this is the second out of three seasons where we're going to be talking about team toughness. Like that's why they signed PJ Tucker, which was overall probably not a great signing. But again, I think that's like a recurring theme where it's like all right

Speaker 24305.88s - 4313.58s

is this going to be you got to get some dogs in the off season again? Or your dogs that you got in the off season were Patrick Beverly PERSON and Marcus Morris PERSON in the trade

Speaker 44313.58s - 4348.46s

right you got those guys and you traded them um 2-15 said I really hate them now but that's where a lot of people are going to point to the toughness that you had. But you also say what you want about Kelly Ubrey PERSON, is that a level of toughness that you want, but you get toughness in a certain way, but then you have other stuff where even here, King Jod, 1985 is calling Kelly Ubray PERSON soft. I think he's soft. I don't think he's soft at all. I think he may be a little out of control at times. And decision making isn't there like you needed to be, but he's not soft.

Speaker 34348.74s - 4348.78s

No, no.

Speaker 44355.62s - 4371.16s

Now, if you want to say weak mentally when it comes to the things that need to be done in the moment, but he's not soft. He's a tough player out there on the floor. This was not fun. We'll be back tomorrow at 2.30. Rich PERSON and I will be together for the, we have a watch-a-long once again. How about that?A watch-in-long and an elimination game against the New York Knicks ORG.

Speaker 04371.78s - 4372.7s
