The sign by Langalears, the wine and the O2 from Mason Miller. Swing and a miss. Got him on a slider and it is seven no-hit hittings for Mason Miller.

Speaker 064.1s - 66.18s

It's now time for the A's Clubhouse Show.

Speaker 567.52s - 86.38s

I got to tell you, I just saw something Ken Corrack that just put such a huge smile on my face. On our partner, NBC Sports California, who I have a dinner wager on a win total for the A's.

Speaker 486.76s - 108.74s

I just heard the old, no one saw this coming, how good this team was going to be. And I went, oh, really? I think some of us did. The people who really followed this team and watched this team at spring training and saw what was happening, knew that this team was going to be far better than last year. And for the people who didn't want to believe it, well, now it looks like they're starting to believe it.

Speaker 27109.24s - 125.56s

Yeah, the belief started during spring training. It kind of built from there, Chris. And we talked about this last night, but when you can lock a game down with your bullpen late, and now it's 27 and a third inning of consecutive scoreless relief for the A's over seven games.

Speaker 20126.18s - 135.44s

A little fortunate maybe today, although you could say, well, it was clutch pitching, but when you make three errors and your bullpen walks four guys in the seventh and eighth

Speaker 5135.44s - 140.58s

innings, but you know what, they're going really well, and the pirates are not going well at all.

Speaker 4140.58s - 149.08s

Well, this was a take care of business series, and we've seen teams come off long

Speaker 20149.08s - 154.78s

road trips and then struggle to start their long homestands, but not here. This is not a very good

Speaker 5154.78s - 165.82s

pirates team right now. A's are playing good baseball and teams that have confidence in our playing well take care of business. So yeah, it's like we could sit here and go, oh my God, it's a sweep, but you know what?

Speaker 27167.96s - 209.22s

The way they're playing, they should have swept these guys. And then you also look at it where you need to have contributions from kind of the unexpected, Chris. Tyler Nevin was not with the club when the season began. And then, you know, he winds up being let go. The Is Acquire him, and, you know, he's red hot and he's been the ace best hitter, and as we said last night for quite some time now.And then Abraham Toro might have been an afterthought for some people when they has acquired him in the off season. He's doing a great job right now. Homer and a single today and a walk and scored a run as a six-game hitting streak. So sometimes those off-the-wall things, the unexpected things can really pay off, and they can be building blocks for a ball club.

Speaker 5209.52s - 217.82s

And let's end on this. And now we don't have to talk about the last time Ross Stripling won a game. No, I know.

Speaker 27218.12s - 234.28s

And I'm glad. I wanted to get that in on the last out on the call there, Towney. And he deserved it, man. He fished great. And a lot of perseverance there. And got these through six innings at a time in which the bullpen, for as well as they've pitched, they've also worked a lot.

Speaker 5234.82s - 245.06s

Yeah, I would have liked to have seen him gone longer, but Cots went to a very strong bullpen right now. Hey, go enjoy this beautiful day. This day is amazing. Gorgeous day. Well, go enjoy this beautiful day. This day is amazing.

Speaker 27245.68s - 251.86s

Gorgeous day. Well, the tradition, the day game's out here, and we've enjoyed it for many years. All right, Townie.

Speaker 5252.04s - 421.6s

Take care. The great Ken Korak. Enjoy the day off. Yeah, we've got a day. Finally, we've got a day off tomorrow. All right, the number is 833-625-2278.That's 833-6-25-2278. I told you if you follow this show, if you follow Acecast Live, I told you at some point they'll start coming back. They're going to start coming back. They've said a lot of things, and they're now going to have to, if the team keeps playing well, they're going to have to eat crow. They're going to have to if the team keeps playing well they're going to have to eat crow they're going to have to eat crow this whole you're taking a minor league team to a minor league ballpark and oh this team doesn't matter what does it matter even talking about this team you know this team'snot even worth my time well some guys that have said a lot of things are now looking at it going well maybe i wasn't right. Like I just heard. I just heard, well, no one saw this company. What are you talking about no one saw this coming? A lot of us said, this team's going to be a lot better than you think. This team's going to be a lot better. If they didn't get off to that bad start, they're way over 500. But we believe they were going to be a team. I mean, it was like, I told you to take the over on thewin total. We started talking about 70 wins. Some people at it, 65, 67, 70 wins. If you're a little bit better than that, you're really starting to sniff 500.But if you were somebody that was just going to be negative about everything, yeah, this is going to be tough for you. Because now you're going to have to say some glowing things. And they'll spin it right, and it'll be about, well, you know, God, Marcotte, the manager. But yeah, when you have basically just had venom for months, if not years, and now you have to actually evaluate this team, it's going to not be easy for you. But for us who have been in the fight and saying we're about baseball, it's glorious. It's glorious to watch. Proud of these guys. Tyler Nevin. You know, I want to talk about this, this roster, what you have right now, kind of something we have complained about in the past, but they have more of what we've been complaining about, right? They have more we've been complaining, but all of a sudden when you start to look at you go, wait, we actually have the remedy for our complaints, which is kind of cool. We got a lot to talk about today. They're 15 and 7, and the Marlins are coming to town. 833, 625-2278. You're listening to the A's Clubhouse Show.

Speaker 1425.24s - 450.7s

Speaker 16490.24s - 514.06s

Poway, San Diego Way, swings and sends one in the air to left. Back is Joe to the track at the wall, looking up at the ledge at Gaw. Tyler Nevin unloads on Flynn Priestner, his fourth of the year and doubles the A's lead to 2-0-0. That was a sunshine home run. It was a launch angle

Speaker 27514.06s - 519.42s

home run too. Colliseum Day game got a breaking ball down and just lifted it.

Speaker 16519.58s - 524.48s

So a nine-game hitting streak now for Nevin. This is A's Clubhouse.

Speaker 2524.86s - 528.48s

And the number is 83333625-2278.

Speaker 5528.84s - 749.08s

It's funny, I'm getting text right now from people like, yeah, Townie go after the doubters. But it's part of the story. We have to tell the entire story. When it's you against the world, you have to tell the story of the doubters, of the people who didn't believe, the people who treated you like trash, the people who said you weren't worth their time. You weren't worth the print. You weren't worth the video. You weren't worth the audio. And then what's going to happen if you're going to continue the story, and by the way, the highlight brought to you by Corona, and the Nevin story's great. But if you're going to continue following this team and talking about this team, you know, some of us are going to say, we haven't forgotten what you were saying. These players shouldn't have forgotten what you were saying. Long way to go but i don't know 15 and 7 looks pretty damn good the team can pitch and if you can pitch you can win and we've always talked about you know since losing olson and chapman like where are the first round picks oh my are the first round picks? Oh my God, the first round picks. Well, all of a sudden you look up, you know, Nevin's a first round pick.JJ Bladay is a first round pick. These are guys that are now 26 years old. This is their time. Do you want to prove what everybody believed in you, what you thought you were? This is it. First round picks playing for the athletics, getting every shot.Yeah, Nevin was a first round pick by the Rockies. We know about Bladay with the Marlins. Here you go. We got a bunch of guys that are young or entering their prime. Here you go. Here you go. Here you go, Langaleers.I'd like to put Noda in there. Unfortunately, Noda is just on a, Noda's just on a straight spiral dive. But Butler, you're getting your opportunity. He's still pretty young. But McCann and Langeleers, you just look up and down the line. You're getting your shot. This is like baseball heaven to these guys. And all of a sudden, everybody's looking up. I'm telling me, my phone, I've been getting texts now, ever since the game ended from A's fans. And buddy's just going, wow, oh my God, wow. I mean, it's just, yeah. Belief is a crazy thing. When people believe, when young men come together as a group and they believe, it's a powerful thing. And this team, they believe.I mean, what are people going to say if the A's continue this and take down the Marlins and are over 500? You're going to have so many people like, wow. I cannot believe that I'm going to lead a beautiful day like this, a shutout victory, a sweep. A's are rolling. They got a winning streak. They've won six of seven. And I'm actually going to lead up the show with Bitter Bill from Modesto.I don't know what you possibly could call up and complain with Bitter Bill. I seriously. I mean, if you come in here with a flamethrower, I, I'll be shocked. I'll be shocked. What can you complain about right now?

Speaker 11750.16s - 753.24s

I got nothing to complain about. Can you believe that?

Speaker 5753.6s - 762.06s

I know. Are you okay? Are you okay? Goodness gracious! I think the A's are okay.

Speaker 11762.72s - 769.74s

See how much it does for me? I mean, I guess I'm not bitter now. I'm positive bill. Should I change my name?

Speaker 4771.18s - 779.4s

Well, it won't be as good of a bit if you go to positive bill. The bitter bill is still a better bit. Well, wasn't built in the day?

Speaker 11781.62s - 786.7s

You remember when we signed Tyler Nevin and people were going, what are we doing?

Speaker 4787.1s - 788.34s

I was one of them.

Speaker 5788.66s - 800.58s

I apologized to him. I literally had him on the show yesterday. And I manned up. I apologized. I said, hey, I'm sorry. You need to be playing every day. That's on me. Oh.

Speaker 11801.22s - 813.14s

And what a problem. Now, we got Go up and we got Davis coming back. So who do we get? I really think that we should DFA Brown. Because the guy hasn't shown anything.

Speaker 5813.54s - 815.34s

You got Andahar coming back?

Speaker 11815.8s - 821.56s

You got, if you said, Davis and Gellop, there's going to be some tough decisions that have to be made.

Speaker 4821.62s - 838.9s

We're going to have David Force on the show on Friday. But he won't give you the answers until he has to make those decisions. But yeah, there are some people who are on the roster right now who aren't going to be herewhen guys start coming back. That's just a reality. Exactly, yes.

Speaker 11838.9s - 852.1s

I think D.A. Brown, and then our pitching, when we got Walbert Chucky, and we got Medina coming. You can't send Medina down. He has no more options. You can't send Walbertuck down. So, but.

Speaker 5852.74s - 855.42s

And you can't send Mueller down because he's out of options.

Speaker 11857.4s - 859.12s

Oh, who is? Who's the other options?

Speaker 5860.04s - 866s

Mueller's out of options. And Mitch Spence is a Rule 5 guy. So you can't send any of these guys down.

Speaker 11866.72s - 868.06s

But, you know what, Bitterbill?

Speaker 5868.86s - 876.9s

When you have these type of dilemmas, these are good dilemmas that means you got talent. It is a good dilemma.

Speaker 11877.06s - 884.54s

How many series wins we had in the last three weeks? A lot more than series losses, I tell you.

Speaker 5884.54s - 898.94s

You had to go back like yesterday. Last night I was scrambling on the post game show. They had it and finally had in the notes today, but I was scrambling last night going through last year's schedule to figure out when the A's had 14 wins. I had to go back.

Speaker 0899.1s - 928.34s

It was like June 6th. I had to go through last year's schedule. I mean, it's crazy how different this year is, and you've got to get a lot of credit to everybody. You got to give credit to the front office. You've got to give credit to Mark Katsi. You've got to give credit to his staff. My God, Scott Emerson is pitching staff, and you've got to give credit to the players. Nobody believed in anybody Ijust mentioned. No one believed in the front office. No one believed in the staff. No one believed in the players.

Speaker 11929.52s - 933.68s

Yeah. All of a sudden, Kassie looks like a genius, does he? Like a good manager.

Speaker 5934.78s - 939.98s

Yeah, I don't think you're going to see a lot of people coming down Mark Katsay's road anytime soon.

Speaker 11940.94s - 948.6s

Yeah. It's a good problem to have, but I think maybe we'll all chuck me go to the minors and do some rehab starts.

Speaker 5949.28s - 952.88s

Well, yeah, he's still got a long way to go coming back from that brace.

Speaker 4953.18s - 956.16s

But Bitterbill, I got a lot of – you know what the problem is Bitterbill?

Speaker 11956.22s - 962.38s

I got a lot of phone calls. So Bitterbill, positive, Bill, I can't sit here and talk to you all day.

Speaker 5963.72s - 964.78s

Sounds great. Thank you.

Speaker 11964.92s - 966.58s

And you're only good when you're angry.

Speaker 5968.04s - 988.06s

All righty, thank you. See, uh, bitter bill, who literally has been calling for well over 10 years, now wants to turn to positive bill. What? And the you know what is going on. I know.Robert Costa, get on the, Robert, how long has he been calling? It's got to be...

Speaker 31988.06s - 988.62s

Oh, forever.

Speaker 5989.04s - 1014.6s

It's literally... Almost 15, 16 years he's been calling angry. And right now he's excited. Let's go to Mike in Texas. Mike, you are on the AIDS Clubhouse show. Hello, Mike.Go ahead, Mike. Yeah, I got you.

Speaker 201014.6s - 1015.7s

Yeah, I got you.

Speaker 131017s - 1021.1s

Remember at the beginning of the year I told you about the bet I made with the Astros fans,

Speaker 201021.78s - 1025.2s

the golf bet that the A's would win between 82 and 71 games.

Speaker 131026.2s - 1037s

And they have to win between 95 and 87 games. They already sent me their list of golf when the season started. Well, I'm about to make my list up and send it to them.

Speaker 51037.2s - 1039.6s

Hoo-hoo-hoo! That can be an expensive bet.

Speaker 131040.9s - 1044.12s

Yeah, well, they're going to have to pay for drinks and everything else.

Speaker 51044.3s - 1047.14s

They're going to pay. I like it. I like it.

Speaker 131048.44s - 1084.62s

But, yeah, you know, you're saying all these naysairs. I listen to MLB on the Sirius Radio, and I watch MNMOB network. I want to know what Billy Bean did to Steve Phillips when he was GM in the Mets because he hates us. And he was saying things yesterday like, what he says? Well, we're not even going to talk about them. They're not part of the American League West. And then they went on to say, well, they've got the two relievers, but at the trading deadline, they'll be with a contender. I want to reach to the radio and slap the snot out of them.

Speaker 51085.94s - 1088.18s

Well, Seattle, if you look at it,

Speaker 131088.66s - 1092.92s

Seattle has just lost to the Braves five to two.

Speaker 51094.22s - 1110.04s

And, yeah, I know it's kind of crazy to think, but right now the A's are two and a half games back at 15 and 17. They're well ahead of the Angels, well ahead of the Astros.I mean, that's... I don't get it.

Speaker 131110.08s - 1115.12s

And that morning show, that's the one show with D-Roe on it. I can't watch that show. That's a hard show to watch.

Speaker 51115.12s - 1116.14s

MLB Central?

Speaker 131117.08s - 1123.62s

Oh, it's horrible. It's a variety show. It's not a baseball show. Yeah. You know what, though?

Speaker 51123.96s - 1126.18s

Let's be glass

Speaker 131126.18s - 1136.38s

half full it's better to it's better be glass half full we need to be thankful that we have somewhere that still talks baseball and MLB network is the only you know

Speaker 51136.38s - 1139.56s

there's certain parts of MLB network I absolutely love there's certain parts I

Speaker 201139.56s - 1144.22s

don't but I I appreciate the fact that there is a place that talks baseball

Speaker 01144.22s - 1148.02s

every day that every single day I can go and I can watch baseball.

Speaker 201148.52s - 1162.92s

Because there's nowhere, I mean, unless you're tuning in to A's cast, I mean, we try to give you as much content as possible. I mean, people don't know this. The game yesterday was two hours and 22 minutes. Our post game show was two hours and 20.

Speaker 01162.92s - 1166.54s

Our post game show last night was almost as long as the game.

Speaker 291166.54s - 1174.3s

We're trying to give you as much baseball content as we possibly can because nobody else, nobody else really is talking baseball.

Speaker 01174.82s - 1185.16s

The data doesn't lie. So let's be appreciative at least of the fact whether you like it or not, MLB Network and they make crap on us, but the fact that at least MLB network gives us a place where

Speaker 291185.16s - 1192.78s

we can, we see people discussing and they do have great, they have great research stuff.

Speaker 01193.44s - 1198.38s

Let's just be appreciative of that we have, we at least as baseball junkies have somewhere to go.

Speaker 291199.44s - 1202.98s

I like Brian Tennis show M would be now and I like listening to Mad Dog.

Speaker 51203.08s - 1204.18s

He will give us our due.

Speaker 131204.96s - 1209.8s

But out of the win today, the only thing you can criticize is I wish we'd see a little more.

Speaker 41209.96s - 1211.98s

Esty, you saw an SD run again today.

Speaker 131212.54s - 1217.74s

But other than that, we were playing good baseball. And I'll let you go.

Speaker 51218.36s - 1219.06s

Thank you.

Speaker 131219.18s - 1219.72s

Thank you.

Speaker 51219.82s - 1382.24s

Yeah. I mean, today wasn't perfect. I mean, not even close. The law firm, I mean, we talk about the law firm of McFarlane, Adams, Jimenez, Kelly, and Mueller, and Miller. That's a law firm game. Like, you'd go downtown San Francisco, downtown San Jose. You'd be in Palo Alto and see the law firm of McFarland, Adams, Jimenez, Kelly, and Miller. I don't want to remind anybody, but Stripling was rolling. Absolutely rolling. Stripling didn't even have 80 pitches. What was he at? absolutely rolling. Stripling didn't even have 80 pitches. What was he? Yeah, I can't even remember the final.Yeah, he was at 79 pitches. You got your starting pitcher rolling at 79 pitches. That's nothing. Oh, got to get him out. Got to get them out. Got to get them out. Got to get it. And next thing you know, a high wire act of McFarland, Adams, and Mendes, Kelly, and Miller. This is the problem with this strategy. It takes one guy and it almost happened multiple times. You want to stay. If you have to do this, do it. But if you don't have to do this, why? It still makes no sense. You got a guy who's cruising. He's cruising. Now you think, well, look how well we've been doing it. I get it. But guess what? Your bullpen is not always going to do this. It's not always going to do it.There's going to be times where not everybody's firing on all cylinders. So if you've got one person rolling it and dealing, he'd only given up three hits. Had him walked anybody. You got a guy who's rolling right the hot hand. Least let him get you through the seventh. Now you just got to close two innings. You turned it into a one, two, three, four, five relievers. Took you one guy to get six and took you five guys to get three. No one can be totally happy with that. But in the end, it's a win. And a day out tomorrow, everybody rest up, then here comes the Marlins, then here comes the Rangers. How good has Toro been? Hit a home run. Had to base it up the middle. He's been fabulous. He'sup with Vince next right here on the A's Clubhouse show.

Big league on the I.O. And Toro drills one to right center and deep. Swinsky back, and it's gone. Abraham Toro. It's his third home run of the year for the athletics. Right center field shot about 30 feet to the right of straightaway center. And the east lead won nothing in the bottom of the second. 106.3 off the bat.

Speaker 21556.4s - 1559.1s

You're listening to the A's Clubhouse Show.

Speaker 161559.46s - 1582s

It is a sweep for the athletics. They take three in a row from the Bucco's, and they've won now six of their last seven, including four straight. Abraham Toro joined us, got it going with a home run today. And Abraham, just first from the perspective, you were new to the organization. You weren't alone. There's a lot of new faces that kind of came together. Now that everybody's kind of gotten to know each other, got to show what you can do, how comfortable is it right now watching everybody perform like you know

Speaker 121582s - 1594.82s

you can? Oh, it's been great. You know, like I said earlier, we, you know you can oh it's been it's been great you know like i said earlier we you know after our first week of the season it was kind of rough and then after we just you can tell how freely we were playing and it just showed the result right now we're playing really

Speaker 161594.82s - 1615.52s

good baseball you told me a few days ago when i was asking what it's like for yourself either in terms of the things you're doing fielding in the a's organization things you're doing hitting in the a's organization the one thing you talked about hitting was it's about fields, it's about situations. Not so much worrying about mechanics, which are part of it. But what has that allowed you to free up with your swinglike you did today with the home run to center?

Speaker 121616.1s - 1630.7s

Well, it's sticking to your approach. And then also, for me, a big thing, it's being okay, failing with your approach because you're never good, just going to hit a thousand. So for me, it's stay on the fastball, middle of the field, and that's been working for us right now.

Speaker 161631.04s - 1639.68s

You know that Ross has been, he hasn't said it because he's not that kind of guy, but he hasn't had to win in a long time. But he goes out there and he competes. What was it like playing behind Strip today?

Speaker 121640.48s - 1650.22s

I mean, the last couple of stars, he keeps it in the game. I mean, he throws strikes. I mean, every day when he starts, I see it in the game. I mean, he throws strikes. I mean, every day when he starts, I see him preparing, watching videos. So he's a true professional.

Speaker 161652.12s - 1663.5s

You have moved all over the field as well. You've had a chance to play some first, a little bit of second, a little bit of third. Have you been able to keep all that together? It's a lot on your plate on a daily basis to do that and be able to perform for this club. How have you been able to do it?

Speaker 121668.28s - 1676.52s

Well, it's your start about, I mean, just being, the manager trusting that you can play everywhere. And then, other than that, your preparation is just about taking round balls in all fields and it just take care of itself. When you're in a situation with this club right now

Speaker 161676.52s - 1698.24s

where it seemed like when the team was struggling, you're waiting for somebody to step up. And now it's like maybe I do or if I don't get the job done, I really feel the guy behind me is going to get it done. It took some time for that process to kind of unfold. What has that been like watching that happen now where if Abraham Toro doesn't get the job done, I know the guy behind me can get it donebecause a lot of things are happening better offensively.

Speaker 121698.76s - 1711.7s

Well, there's a lot of things that it doesn't say on the stats line. Like, you know, working a pitcher's count, you know, having seven, eight pitches. I mean, Evan's been really good. I think kind of like a surprise for everybody, and he's been our hardest hitter right now.

Speaker 161712.26s - 1719.26s

It's been fun for you being in Oakland Athletic. You've bounced around some other organizations. This is a chance for you to kind of step up and take advantage of this opportunity. Yeah.

Speaker 121719.38s - 1727.48s

I mean, like I said, this team's been really good. I mean, we play together. We communicate and our club is really good, and hopefully we can keep it rolling.

Speaker 161727.66s - 1731.78s

Enjoy the off day. Thank you, Abraham. Thank you. Abraham Toro joining us. Townie, now back to you.

Speaker 51732.04s - 1746.2s

Let's get out to the phones at 833-625-2278. Let's go to Greg and slow, Greg. Well, well, well, the A's have a four-game winning streak. Townie, what's cracking, brother?

Speaker 71747.2s - 1747.68s

Wins.

Speaker 51749.98s - 1751.18s

Oh, it's time to gloat.

Speaker 71751.22s - 1752.38s

Here we go. No.

Speaker 51753.18s - 1794.14s

Let's get it all out of you open now. Get it all out of you open now. I have nothing to gloat about. I have nothing to glow about. I'm just, I'm dealing in facts. I do have, I will let the fan base know. There is a certain television personality that's on opposite of me, who's made some comments today that I laugh at, that I have a, I have a dinner bet with him. I have a dinner bet with you. But, you know, I, this, I'm just, I'm just mentioning facts. They're winning. They've won four in a row. They've won six of seven.I'm just, just the facts, ma'am. Just the facts. It's fun.

Speaker 71794.38s - 1867.76s

There's no doubt about it. It's a lot better winning than losing. Whether I'm on one side, the bed, or the other. I kind of look at it as a no-lose situation for me. You know, if I got a spring for a dinner bet, so be it. But as long as the A's are winning, that's a win also. And here's what you've got to keep in mind also, Townie. When the bet was made, say the A's, you know, right now, obviously,it looks like you're in the driver's seat. If the A's were to lose 100 games, that's a 12-game improvement from last year. So I was never on record as saying the A's are going to be as bad as they were last year. Last year was the worst team any of us have ever seen. So I was never on record to say in the A's are going to be as bad as they were last year. Last year was the worst team any of us have ever seen. So I was never, just to be clear, I was never on record saying the team was going to be worse than they were last year. They lose 100 games.Like I said, it's a 12-game improvement, which that's pretty awesome. Right now, obviously, they're on pace for a huge improvement. But, you know, there still are some things that are a little concerning, as you pointed out, Noda. Call me crazy, Towney. Why can't we put McCann at first base at times and spell Noda?McCann can swing it, man. Every time that guy's in the lineup, he does something, whether it's a big home run, it's a big walk. He was awesome today. Why can't we play McCann part-time at first? Because Noda, he's lost up there. I mean, he is unplayable right now.I am,

Speaker 51867.82s - 2001.98s

I'm very worried. And I love Ryan Noda. I've loved his spirit. I've loved his leadership. I've loved his defense. I loved his patience.I mean, there was a lot of, I like the way how big he is, how well he moves for a guy his size. I mean, there was a lot of, I like the way how big he is, how well he moves for a guy his size. But yeah, right now, this is the type of start where there's one thing where you allow people to work through some issues, and then there's times you've got to save peopleand sometimes save them from themselves. And right now, the way it's going with Noda, there is a big struggle. And there needs to be a conversation about how different he looks. He's not competitive right now. And that is a rough, rough look. And he is a guy. We're not talking about a long track record. He's still learning now to be a big leaguer. You know, this was going to be his second full year. And when you're hitting 128, after going 0 for 3 today with two more Ks, he's hitting 128 and OPS of 440, yeah, I think I love Ryan Noda. Can't say it enough, but yes, he's definitely a guy that I'm worried about.I mean, Seth Brown continues to be at 184. And there's a couple solo home runs in there. But there's certain guys that you start to where you are in the season, you start to worry about. And when you start talking about first base, there's going to be people like Andouhar is going to show up.I know he's not going to be like J.T. Snow, Don Mattingly or Keith Hernandez, but maybe that's a spot. He plays a little first. I know he can play outfield. Different guys are going to be coming back from injury. McCann, though, hey, listen, don't say McCann when he can McCann. I know that was terrible. But, yeah, first base, if he's swinging it, if Langleyers is swinging it, and he's swinging it, and right now McCann's staring at a 350 average with over a 1,000 OPS. I mean, that's impressive for a guy that doesn't play a lot. I would like to see him in the lineup more.

Speaker 72002.18s - 2042.2s

Just left-handed stick, he seems to have a good approach. He's very aggressive at the plate. You know, he don't wait. I mean, Becan's a fastball. He's going after it. And, you know, Noda's O for his last 28, Towny.I mean, he's not even close. And I saw another disturbing stat that Ryan Noda, pitchers are challenging him with fastballs. He's not hitting fastballs. He's striking out on fastball. So it's not like there's this He's striking out on fastballs. So it's not like there's this book out on him where it's, you know, off-speed stuff, heavy away. They're going after him with straight fastballs and he's missing. The stats are out there. And, you know, when you're struggling hitting fastballs, you know, it might be time to maybe sit him for a little while, give him a spell.

Speaker 42043.38s - 2047.74s

You know, I don't know, options-wise, if he's out of options, do you send him down? I mean, that's something you would know, obviously.

Speaker 72047.94s - 2125.86s

I don't know, but for how good this team's rolling and you need a, you kind of need an extra spark on offense, I'd love to see McCannan the lineup. Just just get more A-Bs. You know, a crazy stat, too, that on the A's broadcast that they put up, and I kind of want to get your thoughts on it. This time last year, the A's had scored111 runs, 28 more runs than they had scored at this point. Their batting average was 233. It's about 30 points better than it was. It really is a test of it to how good the pitchons been when it's, the worst team we've everseen was last year, and they were really a way better offensive team. They'd hit just as many home runs. We were tied with home runs at this point last year, but they had scored 111 runs last year and had about a 30-point better batting average, and that was the worst team we'd ever seen. So that tells you how bad the offensive struggled, even though we're kind of digging ourselves out of the hole, four runs today, five runs yesterday. So we are getting better offensively, and it's going to take time to kind of boost those averages up.But it really tells you how great and how unbelievable the pitching's been that the worst team we've ever seen last year was actually better offensively at this point in the year than they were this year. And the question is what? What do we do? I mean, what do we do to get better offensively?I kind of picked out Noda. I know Nick Allen's kind of in a platoon role now.

Speaker 52125.92s - 2129.62s

You're not seeing Nick Allen every day because he can't hit. I'm not right now.

Speaker 72129.98s - 2131.38s

They're scoring runs right now.

Speaker 52131.42s - 2132.36s

Why am I worried about it?

Speaker 72133.04s - 2141.46s

Well, I mean, they've scored runs of, you know, this series. But, again, Pittsburgh's probably the worst team in baseball right now. I mean, they are just absolutely terrible. And we handled business. There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 52141.46s - 2243.56s

You scored seven runs in your last game in Baltimore. I mean, they are who they are. I mean, I, this game's about run prevention. If you, if you stop people from scoring, you're going to win a lot of games. Are they going to be built to score a lot of runs on a consistent basis? No.And I understand that. And hopefully with the home runs that they hit, there starts to be more home runs that are going to be with guys on. And they're not walking like they've used. They have in the past. So you'd have more home runs, hopefully with runners on. But, you know, right now, I'm not a row. I'm not going to sit here, as they say, and pick boogers. I'm going to sit here and enjoy winning some games, right? I mean, I can sit here and complain all I want, but I've been complaining for the last year. But I'm going to sit here and say, you know what? They're winning baseball games. And what matters is, is learning how to win every single way. Learning how to win close games, learning how to win games with your bullpen, learning out to win games with your starters, learning how to win games with your defense, learning how to win every single way. So you're prepared to do battle withanybody, anywhere, any time, and this team is starting to do this. When you can go in and win games with your pitching at Yankee Stadium and at Camden Yards, that to me is more impressive than actually going in there and blowing them out. Because we all know this, right? We have seen teams with great offenses, great offenses, and no pitching. How far do they go in the end? Nowhere.

Speaker 72243.64s - 2244.78s

You've got to pitch, especially postseason.

Speaker 52244.94s - 2259.24s

You got to pitch. Pitch is the most important thing. Offense, you pitch, especially postseason. You got a pitch. You got a pitch. Pitch is the most important thing. Offense, you know, you can find ways to win three, two, four, three, that kind. If you're a team just, if you're a team that you have to outslug people every single night, that's not going to be us, so I'm not worried about it.

Speaker 72260.72s - 2281.74s

Well, what are the other important ways to win that is different than the last couple years is win and ugly. I mean, today was ugly. I mean, the defense was awful, but Stripling didn't let it get him down. He made pitches when he had to. He had to get four outs a couple times. So we're winning ugly, and we didn't do that. If this was last year's team the year before, we have three airs, you know, two errors in an inning, you know, we'd probably lose that game six to one.

Speaker 52282.04s - 2288.22s

They lost 112 games last year. They didn't win any kind of games. Right.

Speaker 72288.9s - 2290.44s

In the year before that.

Speaker 42291s - 2293.12s

There wasn't really like a strength.

Speaker 52293.56s - 2295.54s

There was a really good in these kind of games.

Speaker 42295.54s - 2299.02s

When you lose 112 games, there's really not a style of play.

Speaker 72299.34s - 2300.5s

You're flourishing in.

Speaker 42302.2s - 2303.06s

Win an ugly, man.

Speaker 72303.28s - 2304.96s

That means you're getting it done.

Speaker 52305.08s - 2305.62s

You're handling business, like you said. Al Davis, just win, baby. Figure out ugly, man. It's win and ugly. That means you're getting it done. Just win.

Speaker 42305.7s - 2306.56s

You're handling business, like you said.

Speaker 52306.72s - 2308.42s

Al Davis, just win, baby.

Speaker 72308.58s - 2310.22s

Figure out ways to win.

Speaker 52310.52s - 2390.3s

And all of a sudden, you look up your 15 and 7, and I know to the average person, especially the East Coast people, right? Not only our local media that has a, our local media has a bone to pick with us. It's just the way it is. Everybody, they're not going to say nice things. They're angry. They're going to be angry no matter what. And that's something I try and prepare people. No matter what happens, they're not going to be happy. And you just have to understand it. They're going to have to eat crow, and they will kind of eat crow, and they'll backhand compliment you. But they're not going to be happy no matter what you do.This team could go on and win the World Series. These people are not going to be happy. It's just the way it is. And we're not changing them. We're not changing them. And you know what? They're losing their team. They have every right to be unhappy. It's just the way it is. It's a divorce. Divorces are ugly. You're breaking up.You're breaking up. You're breaking it all up, right? It's just we know breaking up is hard to do. They sing a song about it in the 50s or 60s whenever it was. It's just a reality. So enjoy the wins, man.Enjoy the wins. Enjoy what they're doing right now. It's a lot of fun. It's a hell of a lot enjoy the wins, man. Enjoy the wins. Enjoy what they're doing right now. It's a lot of fun. It's a hell of a lot better than what we saw last year.

Speaker 72391.72s - 2394.72s

Ignore the Bay Area knuckleheads, as I say, Towny. That's what you got to do.

Speaker 52394.92s - 2397.4s

But you know, they have their right. You've got to be fair.

Speaker 72398.5s - 2403.72s

They have their right. You know, they have their right. You're losing your team. Why would you be happy about that? To a point.

Speaker 02403.96s - 2408.72s

I mean, because basically great what you're saying, you sound like an idiot. Because...

Speaker 42408.72s - 2424.36s

Not absolutely not. And I know you're not an idiot, but you sound like an idiot. So you think the people in St. Louis were happy when they lost the Rams. You think the people in San Diego were happy when they lost the Chargers? You think these fan bases are happy when they... No.Of course they're going to be mad. They have every right to be mad.

Speaker 72427.96s - 2428.06s

You're a media guy. I understand you've got to say that. But some of the cheap shots are unc on that. No. Of course they're going to be mad. They have every right to be mad. You're a media guy. I understand you've got to say that,

Speaker 52429.78s - 2437.82s

but some of the cheap shots are not here. You're a worthless guy in slow telling people in the Bay Area their knuckleheads from being mad. They're losing their team. They're not your team.

Speaker 32438.1s - 2440.24s

You live in slow. No what I'm saying at all. You're a

Speaker 02440.24s - 2444.08s

fan from somewhere else. You live, you live somewhere

Speaker 72444.08s - 2448.92s

else. You're trying to tell Bay Area people have to live, how to feel, and it's not right.

Speaker 52449.66s - 2450.6s

And you're getting called on.

Speaker 72451.02s - 2453.7s

You're wrong. Absolutely not. I'm saying you can be mad.

Speaker 52453.96s - 2457.12s

No, you called them knuckleheads. You called them knuckleheads.

Speaker 72457.92s - 2458.82s

Don't sheepshod.

Speaker 52459.12s - 2465.4s

Do not cheap shots. You called them knuckleheads. Just like you said, the A's wouldn't win games. They are knuckleheads. When they keep shot, my organization, I'm a bigger fan than any of those knuckleheads, just like you said the A's wouldn't win games. They are knuckleheads.

Speaker 72465.5s - 2468.88s

When they keep shot my organization, I'm a bigger fan than any of those knuckleheads.

Speaker 52469s - 2470.94s

No, you're not. Stop it.

Speaker 72470.98s - 2472.42s

Bigger than any of those knuckleheads.

Speaker 52472.54s - 2473.28s

Stop it.

Speaker 72474.16s - 2481.46s

Don't cheap shot the organization. You can be mad. Don't go cheap shots. Well, that's all I'm saying. And you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 52481.46s - 2666.2s

Yeah, they are. People are angry and they are. And that's just, you know what that? Greg, that's called life. Thank you for the phone call. It's called life. But we have to understand that. And we have to be mature adults and understand when people are angry. They're going to say things that maybe they don't mean. But they're angry. It's what happens in divorce. How many times have you heard of peopleor know of people who got divorced? It was rough at first, but they still... Well, this wouldn't be a good example. But it is true. Some people get divorcedand then they're still friends after. It's just living together and having a life together didn't work. But this is an ugly divorce. And people are going to be angry. And I understand that. And if you've been listening, I've talked about, I've gone through this, doing this with the Raiders. So it's prepared me for this. I understand. And people are taking shots at me. I get it. I'm not going to take it personal. I'm a big boy. I can handle it. I understand your frustration. I understand there's certain ways you want me to act. There's certain things you want me to say. But it's hard. And being mad at people for being mad that they're losing their team is not right. And are they going to take some shots of the organization? No doubt. And there's nothing wrong with holding them accountable. And that's where you do it in a polite way. You have to be above it. We have to be above it. We can remind them of what they said, but we need to be above it. If we start slinging mud, it's just we go down to that level. But there's a lot of people in the Bay Area media that I know and that I'm friends with, and they're angry, and I don't blame them. Like I said, do you think the people of St. Louis were happy when they lost the Rams? San Diego with the Chargers? Oakland with the Raiders or the Bay Area with the Raiders? You think people were happy about losing the Expos in Montreal years ago? We can go through a lot of different teams.A lot of people moved. Happens. There are people pissed in Kansas City that the A's moved from Kansas City. Do you guys not? I would bet most people don't even understand how the Royals came about so fast. Maybe that's a homework project.People of Kansas City were not happy about the A's moving to Oakland. And there were some major threats. And all of a sudden, to get rid of those threats, poof. They created the Kansas City Royals. Go do your homework. 833-6-25-2278 A's with the shutout victory over the pirates. They've won four in a row. They've won six of seven. Life feels a lot better right here on the A's Clubout

going back is low looks up and it is gone a three run over for a day and it's three one athletics

Speaker 02797.76s - 2808.52s

you're listening to aescast so here's o'hoppy a right-handed hitter.

Speaker 272808.68s - 2823.54s

Oh, Hoppe. It's a line drive. In a leaping catch by Nick Allen going to his left at the rim of the outfield grass. Sensational play by Allen. Perfectly time. He got up the ladder as high as he could possibly go.

Speaker 212823.76s - 2825.66s

This is the A's Clubhouse Show.

Speaker 272825.88s - 2857.48s

Here's the 1-1 pitch on the way by Bednar. And that's a broken bat loop into right for a base hit. Ruiz rounding third. They're going to wave him to the plate. He'll score without a throw. And the A's lead for nothing. And once again, Kyle McCann comes through. And a nudging a soft line-drive base base into right on a broken bat. Eric Martins had the green light at third base, Ruiz scored easily, and 4-0-0-A's in the 8th. Yeah, McCann.

Speaker 52860.18s - 2902.42s

He can swing it. And he's yours, you drafted him. I'm telling you, just look around the roster, start looking at ages. And you start saying to yourself, yeah, guys that are in their prime, entering their prime, or they're kind of younger, you like. And we keep talking about, hey, number one picks.Nevin was a number one pick. Lade was a number one. Let's say number one. First round, I should say. People believe the big time potential was there. Road trip, Mike.Where are you? What state are you in?

Speaker 142903.84s - 2921.72s

I just got back to California. This afternoon, just in time to see here the first pitch for the game today. I am sitting at the homestead, being ignored by my 19-year-old cat, because she's mad at me for being gone so long.

Speaker 52922.78s - 2930.7s

Well, you know, not everybody can live the dream that you live. Well, I'll tell you.

Speaker 142931.06s - 2958.62s

I got some things to say, and, you know, every since I've been, we started this in spring training, and we had our conversation, I'm with you. I said the same thing. This team is better than everything looks. And then I have to apologize to you because I said the same thing. This team is better than everything looks. And then I have to apologize to you because I went ahead and bought the tickets for the Sanford game. Now we're going to make the playoffs, and I've said that all along. It's got to be moved more of the state.

Speaker 52966.52s - 3013.58s

Can we, if people have no idea we're talking about, Notre Dame, I been to Notre Dame and Road Trip Mike is a huge Notre Dame fan he is a sick he's a season ticket holder for Notre Dame football and this spring I said you know what I got to do it my kids are going off to college I can do this when the season ends I'll fly out fly into Chicago actually I'm going to meet a buddy play some golf up in thein Michigan then come down and we looked at the schedule and Stanford's going to be there on the 12th and we said all right let's make this happen so I am going to meet Road Trip Mike and I know there's other people that they're going to be meeting us there I found out Pete's going to be there. It's going to be awesome, but yeah, Road Trip, can we sell our tickets and make our money back?

Speaker 143014.5s - 3019.84s

We will have to make some moves and get some things. I'll be talking to some folks.

Speaker 53019.96s - 3038.56s

But I'll say this, Road Trip, I'm not broke. And if the A's make the playoffs and I've got to eat my two tickets, I will gladly spend the money, not go, and broadcast A's playoff games. I will swallow the money. It won't be a big deal.

Speaker 143039.66s - 3063.24s

And I'll be swallowing right with you because that's where I'm going with it. And by the way, forgive me right now because I have been up all night long because after I went to that Houston game last night before I caught a fly to get home, then I listened to your post game and was up until 132 in the morning because you just kept going. That's right.

Speaker 53063.32s - 3086.62s

We win. People will know that when the A's win, it doesn't matter if I hosted a two-and-a-half-hour talk show and then an hour 45-minute pregame show. I will go another two hours. I'll go on and on and I.This team keeps winning. I'll keep going. Sleep, as Ray Fossi used to tell me, Townie, sleep in the off season.

Speaker 293087.64s - 3087.9s

The data doesn't lie.

Speaker 143088.38s - 3089.52s

Thank you.

Speaker 293092.58s - 3092.88s

And I'll tell you, I'll get plenty of the rest when I'm dead,

Speaker 143096.06s - 3096.18s

because I stayed up listening to you, I was loving it,

Speaker 53097.56s - 3097.66s

and I've got a couple of comments.

Speaker 143100.34s - 3110.88s

I was hoping I would get on before slow, so I can prepare him, because we're not going to be doing that bet at the end of the season. I'm looking at the All-Star break at this time. Oh, wait.

Speaker 53111.34s - 3114.02s

Wait, what?

Speaker 143114.12s - 3168.52s

You're saying you're saying they're going to have our bet's going to be won by the All-Star game? Yes, I am. If not, we're going to be within a few games. This team has a swagger about him. McCand, that everybody wants to talk about, watch him walk around the ball field. He has a swagger. He walks with confidence. That's why when he steps up to the plate, he's doing what he's doing. That nine pitch of bad Sunday in Baltimore was just incredible. I liked that better than anything else, the way he battled back and explained it.And it can explain what he was doing. Most people hit a home run. They don't know how, or they just saw a pitch. He knew exactly what he was looking for, what was going on. And you only do that with confidence.

Speaker 153171.26s - 3176.34s

And this team, I'm telling you, it has been so much fun.

Speaker 143176.64s - 3180.88s

But I'm going to go down that rabbit hole because we've never talked about this.

Speaker 153181.34s - 3183.16s

I was a Raider season ticket holder.

Speaker 143184.24s - 3202.52s

So I know it's like to have my heart ripped out, thrown on the ground, stepped on, and moved on. I know that. And I swore I'd never allow it to happen again. But I felt a lot of pain with the AIDS. And I live in Sacramento and I still feel the pain of everybody down there.

Speaker 03203.52s - 3207.6s

And I felt the pain even more this week because I made a mistake.

Speaker 153207.72s - 3212.8s

I took a picture with somebody and they put some things out there that were not

Speaker 03212.8s - 3213.88s

accurate about me.

Speaker 143214.34s - 3244.28s

And I got hurt by it and angry. So I had to take a couple days and not call, not do anything, get myself back and refocus on just the guys. Because a lot of people are hurt and they do things when they're angry. And I am so grateful that I have a support staff around me of friends that stood up for me so I couldn't say something when I was angry.

Speaker 53247.24s - 3256s

I have no idea what you're talking about, but as you know, it'll be a conversation one-on-one we have.

Speaker 143256s - 3265.02s

As you know, this space right here is a safe space for A's baseball fans. That's what this place is. This is right here, it's a safe space for A's baseball fans.

Speaker 53265.76s - 3357.14s

That's what this place is. Right here, it's a safe space, because there's not a lot of safe spaces out there right now. There just isn't. And if you're not acting a certain way, if you're not saying what they want you to say, they are going to trash you, they're going to try and destroy you it doesn't matter who you are it's not the first time people have done stuff like this and it's not going to be the last i have created i have created this safe space for all of us i created this a long time ago well before a lot of people who run the A's were even here. I created this. This has been our safe space for a long time. And those people that are doing the things that whatever they're doing out there are not going to harm us. They've already tried in the past, but they're not going to harm us. This is a safe space for people who want to love the team, who want to follow the team, and they want to talk baseball. And for the most part, I would say that the people out there who are really angry, they understand that. They kind of let us be because they understand that. So there are some evil people out there. But for the most part, our fan base isn't. We got a lot of good people. But a lot of good people who are hurt and angry, and that's understandable. But a lot of people understand for just baseball fans, this is a safe place.

Speaker 143358.72s - 3391.92s

And you know what, Tony, I appreciate it. Because I love this show. Even when I don't call and I'm on the road or trying to get home or whatever I listen to this show all the time my boy Jack Lima I really helped me get it to where I got it dialed in so it's easy to find because technology eludes me sometimes but I love George from San Francisco okay I slow, even though he gets a low off track sometimes and doesn't have thefaith that we have, and he's going to be spending a lot of money in the Hell's Kitchen.

Speaker 203392.24s - 3394.22s

So we're thinking so much.

Speaker 143395.68s - 3399.46s

But I want to thank you for everything.

Speaker 203400.04s - 3401.2s

It's a great time.

Speaker 143401.5s - 3420.44s

I can't wait to see you tomorrow or Friday night. I'm going to bring down my childhood best friend because he wants to meet you because I've talked about you. And the experience that we've gone through with this, but you and I never, never even blinked when we came out of spring training. And it feels so good.

Speaker 53421.82s - 3428.08s

I'll be in the treehouse on Friday. And I will be up there.

Speaker 143428.7s - 3437.42s

I'm going to try to go to Friday's game Sunday, and then definitely the doubleheader before we have to head off to Seattle. All right.

Speaker 53437.64s - 3453.84s

We'll see you, my friend. Be well. All right. The number 833-625-2278. Let's go to Mustang Matt. Mustang. You're on the Ace Clubhouse show. Uncle Townie.

Speaker 103454.78s - 3504.64s

Guess what? Mustang Matt's voice is a little rasping. You know why? You're at the game. Because I was at the game. And I guarantee you, I had a lot of people hear my voice, and man, was it fun. Some people didn't like what I had to say. Tough. Don't care. Don't care. What I do care about is the A's are winning. And yes, today wasn't the prettiest win.But is a win. It's also a shutout. So I'm going to get the negative out of the way. Here Starter is filling up the strike zone with 78 pitches. You've got to leave him in. Like, he was doing, he was doing an amazing job.So that's what I'm going to say on that front.

Speaker 53505.16s - 3509.5s

Agreed. I agree 100. I agree 100%.

Speaker 103509.5s - 3574.24s

100%. When you're pitching, 78 pitches in my coach in high school, I was like, Matt, you have almost 80 pitches. Great. That means I got about 30 more bullets to go. And if you come out here, you're going to get an earful from me. So I couldn't imagine, I couldn't imagine, like, the way he was throwing,I enjoyed it. There were strikes being pumped in. And then, yeah, we had to walk the tightrope with the law firm. But, you know, I wanted to say something on personal note.In 2021, September 23, September 23rd, my stepmother, who basically raised me, the type 1 diabetic, in 2003, she had a pancreas and a kidney transplant. And she's one of 400 people in the world to live past 10 years with type 1 diabetes

Speaker 203574.24s - 3577.16s

post-transplant.

Speaker 103577.16s - 3673.76s

When I got to see Mason Miller's story and about how he was able to overcome the disease. And to do what he's doing right now, I said September 23rd, 2021, that was the night she passed. And I asked the baseball gods just for one present. I said, I said, can we get a win tonight? They walked it off. A couple weeks ago, my grandmother passed. And I came out to the tree house, and I tried to keep myself together. And I said, you know what?I'm going to go to a place that means a lot to me, and that's the Oakland Coliseum. She passed that day. The A's locked it off. The reason why I called in is because there are people out there that are battling a disease that is very, very difficult. And to see Mason Miller go out there and do what he's done so far this year, I think is absolutely amazing. Little side note, when you're up for nothing, I don't think we need to bring in the sole snatcher, but if you want to, and that's what you wantto do, great. It was great to see him pitch. It was great to see the win. It's great to see the streak alive. And it's great that 400, or 400, 500 baseball is literally right around the corner. And we just started in May.So it was a great day at the ball field. It was a great day to watch an A's win, and I couldn't be happier, sitting in traffic on 580 right now. Love it.

Speaker 53674.12s - 3790.96s

Appreciate the phone call. Yeah, the Mason Miller story, I've talked about how my daughter is a type 1 diabetic. My mother-in-law was a type 1 diabetic. It's a brittle diabetic. Yeah, what Mason Miller's doing is an inspiration to a lot,and I mean to a lot of people, of all ages. And I want people to hear the emotion in people's voices. hear the emotion in people's voices when something sparks and this is going to happen throughout the rest of the year you're going to hear people get emotional when the announcement to Sacramento happened and the next day we were on the air I knew it was going to be an emotional show we had people who cried. Baseball helps people heal through some of their toughest times because it's every day.You know, we all have the stories. I have, like, stories about when my mother was dying of breast cancer. all have the stories. I have liked stories about when my mother was dying of breast cancer. And the A's allowed me to go to San Diego and be by her side. A lot of you don't know when you called me and doing the post game show. I was not in the Bay Area. I was a radio station, and the radio station was very generous to set up a studio for me. So the pregame show, the talk show, the post game show, you don't even know where I was. I mean, yeah. There's going to be a lot of emotional times, man. And we have to respect that.I get emotional. You're listening to the AIDS club out show.

but many times it was with a little more surprise as the element. And everybody trying to concentrate on Ricky opens up all kinds of holes on the infield. So the cat and mouse game continues. How's Ricky? I'd just take off. He's having come from behind a three, I won nothing death, said Ricky goes. A pitch take it. Speaker 314214.52s - 4226.72s

Well, I knew it was important, and I thought it would be nice for you to have that in your career. And I'm certainly happy that Frank Sincek got out there to say hello to Ricky.

Speaker 54228.86s - 4355.58s

Lon Simmons was a great guy. I played golf with Lon Simmons. I was young in my career. He was retired. He was coming back from Hawaii to do Giants games and for like five hours in a golf tournament to hear that voice. Yeah, I just got emotional because baseball's emotional.Like, listen to that right there. That's Ray Fawsey. Ray is so good to me. I love that man, and I know what Bill King means to everybody and Law and Simmons. Yeah, baseball is an emotional sport. It gets us through a lot, you know, and if I'm going to talk about my mom's death, yeah, I'll get emotional. What the A's did for me during that time. We're not going to forget the memories.Yeah, we're going to move, and we're going to be moving on. Life changes. That's just a reality. But we're not going to forget certain things that have touched us in our lives. And baseball has done a lot for a lot of people. Look what baseball has done for Ricky Anderson.I mean, it's sad. Those three great people, two of the legendary, I mean, Lon Simmons and Bill King, I mean, we sit here and talk baseball, but those two men have legendary football calls. Legendary. And he says to Madden, get your big butt off the field.I mean, this legendary NFL films and the Joe Montana and the Super Bowls of Lon Simmons. I mean, come on. You're talking about two of the greatest just broadcasters of all the big games that Lon Simmons did with the Giants and the 49ers and the A's and Bill King with the Warriors and the Raiders and the A's.I mean, these guys legendary kill it. They're no longer with us. Ray Fawsey, who's my God, we all grew. Some people who's Ray Fossy their entire life as a player to a broadcaster. We're going to miss all these people. We're never going to forget them. All right, back out to the phones. Let's go to Dave in Nashville. Dave, you're on the A's Club Out show.

Speaker 94356.52s - 4429.98s

What a great radio show today. Great emotion. Real fast on Notre Dame. I'm a University of Pittsburgh fan. They play Notre Dame regularly. So one day I drove up from Nashville fast on Notre Dame. I'm a University of Pittsburgh fan. They play Notre Dame regularly. So one day I drove up from Nashville to see Notre Dame and two thoughts on it.It was much prettier and nicer campus than I ever imagined. It's really, really nice campus. And the stadium is fantastic. There was no video board. This was in 2010. So it was weird to be at a football game when they go to replay. And there was no video board back there. Wow. That would be weird. And the other thing, the other thing that is going to sound ridiculous to say, it was more Catholic than I thought it would be. Like, they were like, and students, that 530, there will be mass at the such and I was like, I mean, you know what I'm saying? It's one of those things you just kind of like, oh, yeah, I guess, you know. And the people were extremely nice. Now, if you grow up in the Northeast, there's a lot of where I did, there's a lot of Nordame fans. And they didn't go to Notre Dame. They're just tough Irish guys who want to fight and drink and tough, you know, talk trash. And so I had a negative opinion of Notre Dame fans until I went to Notre Dame. And I'm like, these are, this is really, really nice school. So I would suggest if you can, yeah, make that game.

Speaker 54430.38s - 4435.2s

Well, I am a, as you would say, an Irish Catholic, so I know what you're talking about.

Speaker 94435.2s - 4457.58s

And I'm really, I'm just, I'm super looking forward to it because I've been very fortunate whether it's been as a fan or with my job. I've worked in a lot of the great baseball NFL venues, and I've been around to a lot. I've been to some great places in college football, right? I've been to Oklahoma.I've been to LSU.

Speaker 04457.7s - 4460.28s

I've been to Miami, but I've never been to Notre Dame.

Speaker 204460.36s - 4464.2s

When you talk about one of the places you have to go, you've got to go to Notre Dame.

Speaker 04464.2s - 4483.44s

And this road trip Mike, I mean, road trip Mike's a good friend, right? He's a caller. I've known Road Trip Mike for years, and he's like, you've got to come to a game. And I'm like, yeah, you're right, I do. And so I said this year I'm going. So if the A's don't make the playoffs will be Notre Dame Stanford.Real quick question.

Speaker 94484.94s - 4503.08s

First time, if the A's make the playoffs, the league wouldn't move the playoff games. Would they, like, are they going to have like 3,000 people at the wildcard? Like, or would they'll commit? I mean, they are locked in that if they have a playoff game, it's in Oakland, right? This is the point of information.I'm not debating one way or the other. Correct.

Speaker 54503.38s - 4507.36s

If there is, if there was, and I can't believe we're talking about it, but it's

Speaker 94507.36s - 4511.46s

a possibility. Yeah, playoff games would be at the Coliseum.

Speaker 54511.76s - 4519.08s

Okay, okay. Second, I mean, I'm following the team, but I can't follow the platoon situation.

Speaker 94519.24s - 4562.26s

Can you just talk to it? Obviously, catchers, McCannan, Lange Lears. Okay, but it seems like, like, I don't know, why does Hernaysiliers. Okay, but it seems like, like, I don't know, why does Hernes play sometimes and Alan plays other? Like, well, can you explain the overall platoon? Like, I mean, I maybe I should sit down and look at the left, right,or, you know, I mean, it seems like it's working, but I can't quite figure out, like, all right, so like, is Brown and Rooker rotating in the left? Like, can you, is, do you have a general, like, depth chart by, like, left, right lineups? Or is it just kind of, you know, just seems like, you know, Nevin's in here, he's there, he's this position, that position? Like, is there, like, an overall, like, scheme for that that you can talk me through?

Speaker 54562.72s - 4577.7s

I'm going to tell you this. I hate it. I hate it it i am not a fan of this style of baseball whatsoever i got to wear it i mean there's nothing i can do like but i do not

Speaker 04577.7s - 4626.2s

i i i i i scratch my head i like i have no. Somewhere they are scheming up these offenses and these changes and these defenses every single day and every single day I keep score and every single day I see a different lineup. I mean, for God's sakes, you had Lawrence Butler struck out four times yesterday. He's back hitting leadoff. Then you'll have some days where a guy will play well, then the next day he's on the bench. I don't know.I mean, Toro, Toro can be at third. He can be at second. He can be at first. He can be at outfield. I mean, are any of these guys that good enough to play these main positions? Oh, Nevin can play all these different positions.Nevin has not looked like a good outfielder to me. Nevin made a couple of years today at third. I just, I don't know. I don't third. I just, I, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 34626.32s - 4629.7s

I just, I, it makes no sense.

Speaker 04629.9s - 4632.56s

It's how they want to play. I disagree with it.

Speaker 94632.76s - 4637.64s

I think continuity is a huge thing. They don't. I disagree with it. So I'm not.

Speaker 54638.2s - 4638.88s

No, you're not crazy.

Speaker 94638.88s - 4639.98s

I'm not missing a pattern.

Speaker 54640.24s - 4720.2s

There's not a pattern. There's no pattern. Like, you can't follow it. You could, you could, you could some days look at and go, well, let's look at the splits. How does he do against right-handed pitching versus left-handed pitching? But some days it's so odd.I just, I've stopped. I've stopped, like, pulling my hair out. And you know what? We know one of two things is going to happen. You're either going to win or you're going to lose. And you've got 30 teams out there and everybody thinks they're super smart because everybody's hired these day to people and everybody's got these fancy degrees. But I know this. Not every team wins. So if you're not winning, you're not all that smart. So you better win. You're going to do this kind of stuff. You better win.I don't want to hear about payroll. I don't want to hear about payroll. I don't want to hear about any of your obstacles. You better win. You get paid to win. You get paid to win. And if you're not winning, you know, like the Orioles. The Orioles are a team that's shining right now. But there's plenty of teams that went through rebuilds, and it didn't work out. And you know what's funny about all those people who are super smart in those rebuilds? They just get fired and go somewhere else and everybody forgets about them. And they forget about how they failed. This job is so interesting covering baseball now because baseball is just, uh, accountability.

Speaker 94720.2s - 4759.54s

I remember the days. When that long ago, I was like, okay, Olson said me and Chapman, you know, and rotated left. You know what I'm saying? Like, this was the situation. But the thing is, you know, as A's throughout all the years, except for the last two, like, Billy Bean, he wasn't able to go out there with rare exceptions and, like, bring in a stud new player. But even in the like, all right, you know, we're not doing that. You know, we're doing okay. So let's add Connor Jackson, you know, or we're doing okay. Let's bring in, you know, something. You know what I'm saying? They always, like, let's bring in like a, you know, Gron of Moss.

Speaker 44759.74s - 4760.5s

Matt Carson.

Speaker 94761.06s - 4765.38s

Well, some of them, they were like minor little upgrades he would do.

Speaker 44765.54s - 4766.14s

Minor upgrade.

Speaker 94766.4s - 4807.94s

Stephen Drew's coming in. You know what I'm saying? It was never, you know, except for the 2014. It was like, all right, we're kind of, we're not doing that bad. Hey, let's add, you know, this piece. Do you think they're at the point? And I were like, you know, this guy's not hitting, you know. I'm not saying, hey, are they going to add, you know, Scherzer? I'm saying, you know what I'm at the point where they're like, you know, you know, this guy's not hitting, you know, I'm not saying, hey, are they going to add, you know, Scherzer? I'm saying, you know what I'm saying, you know, but are they at the point where they're like, is it worth making a move and, you know, adding a slight upgrade at a certain position? Like, has the start changed their mindset a little? You know, we're willing to give Ryan Noda a month, but now we're competitive. Maybe we can find a first grade upgrade. You know what I'm saying? Jack Coss.

Speaker 54808.64s - 4814.36s

You know what I'm saying? I'll give you the most legit, honest answer I can give you on this.

Speaker 204819.2s - 4819.36s

I will talk to David Forst on Friday on A's cast live and we'll go over this.

Speaker 54822.14s - 4856.5s

But this is the most honest I can give you. Will they make moves? Yes. Now, Will they make moves? Yes. Now, what they can add, where this organization is right now, with everything that's happening and the fact that this is the last year in Oaklandand the fact that going to Sacramento next year, these are conversations. Like, if you were ever to say you're going to take payroll on, I mean, I have no idea. I mean, this would be going. These would be conversations that are so out of my league inside this organization. Right.

Speaker 44856.5s - 4859.52s

And this, because we are in unprecedented time.

Speaker 04859.62s - 4881.16s

So I cannot, I cannot give you an honest answer of what I know. I know nothing. I'm going to ask David on Friday, hey, the team's playing well, and then maybe he'll be more honest of what they can and cannot do. I can tell you where we are on this Wednesday.I can't give you an honest answer. Or I can give you an honest answer. I just don't know. I'll ask on Friday.

Speaker 94882.62s - 4909.8s

I mean, when there was a year, like Frank Thomas got cut and some other team was paying his payroll. And the, there was a year, like, Frank Thomas got cut, and some other team was paying his payroll. And the A's were kind of, like, they were supposed to be a rebuild year. And they're 500. Frank Thomas is available at the bare minimum. Let's pick them up.Like, but then they move like a, what a quote, prospect down. You know, I was Frank Thomas is getting more playing time. They were willing, you know, I mean, would they do a move like last year, they probably wouldn't have done that move at all. You know, who know?

Speaker 54909.94s - 4930.44s

I mean, they might surprise us because this is the last year in Oakland and who's to say that like all of a sudden, add a no way there. And if they're in it, they start adding guys. I mean, I don't know. We'll have to wait until Friday. Hey, appreciate the phone call. The number 833, 625-2278. We'll do one more call. Let's go to Robert in Portland. Robert, you're on The A's Clubhouse show.

Speaker 154931.84s - 4944.86s

Yeah, Tony. Great show. Hey, I just think if you take Cleveland and the Bow Sox out of the, you know, the equation, we're 14 and 8. I thought about that.

Speaker 44945.44s - 4956.56s

And also, I mean, you can't, but if you could, it really shows you that, you know, you got off to that horrific start, but, you know, that's why it's a long season.

Speaker 54956.72s - 4990.74s

You can remedy, you can remedy, you're going to have bad dips. It's very, very rare, unless you win so many games, you know, you're going to have some time, like when the Yankees in 98 or the Mariners, what year was that, they won 116, was that 0-2, 01, whatever. I mean, when you have a year where you win so many games like that, you don't really have blips in the season, but everybody's going to have some time where you just don't play well for a week or maybe two weeks. Well, the Hayes unfortunately had that right out of the gate, but they're making up for it right now.

Speaker 154992.04s - 5109.06s

Another thing that I've noticed is, you know, Gelloff, he was striking out. You know, I know it's hurt. He struck out 33 times already. And remember last year he was, I'm not saying he didn't strike out a bit, but it seems to be a virus.Rooker has struck out 31 times. Noda has struck out 32 times, but he's walked 12 times. I think Kossi, he has a balancing act here. Brown has struck out 31 times. And when you're striking out that much, and you were making a big deal about it a couple weeks ago, Butler, Lawrence Butler has improved a little bitbecause he's only struck out 26 times, and Bleday is the best of the bunch, and the amount of that bats he's had, he's only struck out 24 times. But this kid, Nevin, he's only struck out 24 times. But this kid, Nevin, he's only struck out 17 times. And I know he's only been up about 60-some at-bats, but I think that's what cuts theywant. He wants less swings and misses, and McCann is the best of the bunch at it right now. Of course, he's only had a very short stint, but that's a big deal. And, you know, to be your on-based percentage, you have six guys that are 300 and above, and that's Rooker, Nevin, Torrell, who's amazing right now, McCann, La Day, and release. Those are the only guys that get on routinely, but some of them strike out a lot. What you're feeling on exactly what may happen in the next week or so when all these guys start coming back, including On the heart, what's constantly going to do? More importantly, what are the A's going to do when they're out of, they can't send some of these guys down anymore like Butler. You mentioned that. What in the world are's going to do when they're out of, they can't send some of these guys down anymore.Like Butler, you mentioned that. What in the world are they going to do?

Speaker 55112.54s - 5159.84s

Well, right now, Gailoff is not going to be back for a while. So you don't have to worry about that. So then you got J.D. Davis who's going to be coming back. So that's going to be a move to where one of the, you're going to have three infielders that you got to play with here because Toro's not going anywhere. So that's going to be either Allen, Hernays, or Schumann. Probably Schumann. Because you remember, you can only send guys down so many times in a year you've already sent her nays down once andahar comes back and then that's really the big question what are you going to do what are you going to do when and a heart comes back is that he's a

Speaker 155159.84s - 5165.58s

career on base percentage guy of a 300 with the pirates. He's not a bad player.

Speaker 55166.22s - 5185.06s

All of his past, his best year was with the Yankees, but all of his past doesn't matter. It's what he did recently and what they saw him do recently and how well he played in spring training. He'd strike out once in spring training, and he raked. So that to me is the big question. I don't know. I don't know.No clue? I hate to see Butler leave the question. I don't know. I don't know. No clue.

Speaker 155186.02s - 5192.42s

I hate to see Butler leave the organization, even though I know he's got his media.

Speaker 55192.72s - 5193.88s

Butler's not out of options.

Speaker 155194.68s - 5203.52s

Oh, I misunderstood you. I thought you mentioned that when, you know, when one of the callers called, I thought he was, he's not out of options. Okay.

Speaker 45209.68s - 5214.08s

Who's out of options? Well well i think the one guy that you're going to look at which would be a really tough call for the organization is what

Speaker 155214.08s - 5220.96s

are you going to do with set brown you're not sending you're not sending you're not sending

Speaker 55220.96s - 5225.94s

bladay down i i mean are you going to send Ruiz down?

Speaker 205227.94s - 5228.42s

No.

Speaker 155228.92s - 5230.3s

I mean, they may.

Speaker 55231.22s - 5232.4s

It's not playing every day.

Speaker 155236.52s - 5242.56s

I think it's amazing that we're talking about this because, you know, a couple weeks ago,

Speaker 55242.72s - 5244.3s

they were striking out all the time.

Speaker 155244.42s - 5276s

Everybody was struggling. But I think they've reached a point now where Cuts is, you know, and Dave are going to have to sit down and say, okay, now we really have to make some tough calls here. And Brown may be a casualty. And a number of the callers, you know, have been wanting to see him go for a couple years. I like how hot he gets at certain times. And there's certain ballparks. And you know this town. He hits the hell out of certain ballparks in American League.

Speaker 55279.14s - 5298.54s

Yeah, well, I mean, not everybody's going to be on this roster. That is just a reality. What you see now is not what everybody's going to be on this roster. That is just a reality. What you see now is not what you're going to get when everybody comes back. So you're going to have to make some tough calls. I mean, they're not that tough calls, but you're going to have to make some tough calls.

Speaker 155300.66s - 5320.86s

With their pitching, I want them to be hitting the road against Seattle with above 500 record, even though they got Texas in that doubleheader midweek next week. I'd love to see them going to Seattle with the same momentum they have right now. Seattle's got great momentum, too.

Speaker 55320.94s - 5323.32s

They just took two out of three from Atlanta. They're hot.

Speaker 155324.32s - 5375s

Yeah, but I want to see Toro play that manager who gave up on him. He's a switch hair, and he can play old. He's a Swiss Army knife. I want to see Toro pay Seattle back because we've struggled against Seattle for a number of years, as you know, but this could be the year we start paying those guys back because they're not a great years, as you know, but this could be the year where we start paying those guys back because they're not a great hitting team. You know, they let some guys go because of money and they got a great pitching staff, no doubt about, especially starting pitching. But I want to see us go up there and, you know, be very competitive and it would be nice to have a little momentum hitting the road with. And, you know, because we were four or nine going into this homestown. And right now we're seven and nine. And we could get, we could get above 500 if we keep this up when we leave town.

Speaker 55376.84s - 5390.06s

It is hard to believe we're talking about it, but we are talking about it. And we can legitimately talk about it. And people are not going to be like, oh, you guys are crazy. No.

Speaker 155390.66s - 5442.5s

And I want to say one final thing. I feel bad for Oakland. You know, I'm not, I don't feel bad for the city fathers, but I feel bad like you did it when you were talking. You know, it's losing a team. I was, my parents had season tickets to the Raiders forever.I almost died thinking about that the day that was official. This is really hard. Oakland is where I was born. We're the only city in North America to lose four major sports franchises. That's a debt punch. Yeah.Extremely bad.

Speaker 55442.7s - 5524.66s

Yeah, it's complicated, right? It's really complicated. And I've lived it and I watch people talk about it. And there's a lot of opinions and there's a lot of opinions and there's a lot of opinions not based on facts. There's a lot of opinions on emotions and what you want, what's best for you. Then there's things that are just straight facts. And as you mentioned, you know, the Raiders left years ago, came back, and now the Raiders have left and the Warriors have left. Like the Warriors, it's funny how the Warriors, warriors in a lot of ways, have gotten a pass just because they went to San Francisco. People weren't giving the A's a pass when they were trying to go to Fremont or San Jose. They were villains for doing that. It's amazing how L. Jacob got a pass doing that. But whatever, you still lost, the city still lost the team. They still lost the business. And now you're going to lose the A's. So it's unprecedented that the NFL's left twice. The NBA leaves and Major League Baseball leaves, and they do it at such a rapid fire. It's really easy for people to use. Oh, there's a lot of blame to go around. That's opinion. There's opinion.

Speaker 155524.66s - 5539.82s

Mickey Morabito, which, Mickey Morabito is one of the great guys lot of blame to go around. That's opinion. There's opinion. Mickey Morabito, which, Mickey Morabito is one of the, you know, the great guys of all time in the age organization. My sister, you know, she dated them years and years and years ago. But Mickey, I feel bad for the employees. My God.

Speaker 65541.04s - 5543.44s

You know, it's just, it's just sickening.

Speaker 155544s - 5558.02s

That's the part that really hits home, and I'm sure you see all those people. When you come in the stadium and, you know, you smile on them, but man, you know, this is going to get extremely emotionalas this season goes on.

Speaker 205558.08s - 5560.22s

Oh, no, no. And I hope

Speaker 155560.22s - 5583.52s

the A's have a good five months up ahead, you know, to kind of soothe a little of that pain, even though it won't count with guys like coach. I understand why coach doesn't call. I understand where he's coming from. You know, this has left a hole in him, and I understand that. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 55586.84s - 5774.44s

It's complicated. I mean, that process is. And I think, Robert, you know, you look at it and I wonder when someone's going to do the piece about the strategy, the business strategy of how to deal with teams, how to try and keep teams, how to do business with teams, because other cities have. And, you know, there's being proactive and there's being reactive. And there's one, there's, you know, one thing that I've always, as an observer, have under, understood is that teams were looking to leave and if your strategy your strategy a lot of times where oh they're going to try and leave but they're not going to be able toleave we got them because you would have heard that if because I covered it and I don't want to really get into all this, but I will at a later time. I extensively covered the whole Raiders situation. I was the Raiders' sideline guy. I did TV for the Raiders. I did the Raiders' free and post game show.I did the Raiders weekly shows on radio. I was doing everything Raiders. I covered the owners meeting in Houston. I covered everything about the Raiders and the Chargers teaming up in Carson. And when that owner's meeting, and I'll get into it extensively later on, because now people don't really talk about it.Jerry Jones stepped in. He paved the way for Stan Cronky to get Englewood over the Spanos and the Davis family, getting it in Carson. The strategy then was, see, they got nowhere to go. And even there was the belief with the Raiders once they did start dealing with Vegas and Sheldon Adelson. When Sheldon Adelson then got taken out of the picture, there was then again the, see, they don't have the financing, see they can't. So there's a difference between being proactive and reactive. When you're proactive and you want to make sure, like, there is a strategy I would have had with the teams that I think they should have done, that I haven't really heard people bring up. Because a lot of it will be now, you know, you've got to look yourself in the mirror. When you're talking about business and losing, at some point, you've got to look yourself in the beer.Right now, everybody just wants to say it's everybody else's fault. There is a huge lack of accountability. There is no, that is fact. There is a huge lack of accountability. There was a way to deal with each one of these teams. You didn't have to always leverage the same property of the Coliseum 66 in Hagenberg. There's all kinds of mistakes that have been made that are not net that you have to look outside of just the teams and the fact that I've been around the teams. I can look at both sides of it. I've dealt with Mayor Kwan back in the day. She was ridiculous. She had no game plan. The people around her said the most ridiculous. I mean, there's a lot that needs to go around. But here we are. We know what's going to happen. And in the end, the fact is the city's losing three teams.

Speaker 155775.28s - 5832.34s

I think Libby, I think, you know, Tanny, I think Libby was close. Snitcher, the forces behind snitcher killed her last deal because you know I really and I said it on your show when they won the state votewhen the state got behind it I thought that was the momentum they needed to get that thing done but lo and behold snitcher sealjoined the anti you know forces didn't want that part there. And that's, that was sad because Libby, I think, you know, she lost the Raiders, but she didn't want to lose the days. She didn't want to lose it, especially on her, her watch. And she had that one last vote. And then Snitzer jumped into it and it all got pushed up again. And that's when it all went to, you know what. And I blame Snitcher's steel. And I really do.

Speaker 55832.34s - 5873.9s

And there's that old saying, elections have consequences. Yep. And who you vote for in different capacities, who you vote for. And there also is something that a lot of people don't talk about is thepeople inside the city versus the county. The huge amount, you know, I remember, never forget where there was Save Oakland Sports. There was a group called Save Oakland Sports. I don't even know if they're still around. But there was this group that was about trying to save all. There was a fan group. Save Oakland sports. Some of you may remember. They wanted to save all three teams. And I remember just asking going, how many people actually live in Oakland?

Speaker 205875.4s - 5878.16s

And they said probably about two-thirds of the group doesn't.

Speaker 55878.84s - 6071.82s

Well, it's like, well, those people aren't voting inside the city. So once again, elections matter. All right, Robert, thank you for the phone call. We'll do a, I guess we'll do a scoreboard here. Why? Becauseit's all about Chachancey. I'm telling you, Chachancy, we may have to we may have to do a little party of a Chachancy, a little watch party. Because this time of the year, it's going to beabsolutely beautiful. All righty. I'm stalling as I'm getting the scoreboard up. And this out-of-town scoreboard brought you by Chachansea Gold Resort and Casino, join the ultimate party at Chachancey where the excitement never stops. All righty.Rockies Marlins. Oh, boy, that's a series. Bottom of the fifth and it's scoreless. Been a great series. Checking out Yankees Orioles if you're an Orioles fan. Yankees Orioles, that's scoreless in the fourth.Mets and Cubby scoreless in the second. Giants and Red Sox at Fenway scoreless in the second. Finals from today. Tigers beat the Cardinals, 4 to 1. Brewers on top of the raise, 7 to 1. Any brew ha ha this time?Four people were kicked out. By the way, seven, what was it? Six or seven people kicked out in baseball yesterday. Remember when we talked about that Yankee Stadium? Like, it's crazy how many people get kicked out and people really don't notice. Like, unless you, like, read the game notes, unless you watch quick pitch every night onMLB Network, I don't think people realize how many humans are being thrown out of baseball games on like a routine basis. No other sport does that. It's hard to get thrown out of other sports. Baseball, people get thrown out like it's going out of style. Twins, 10, White Sox, five. So that's what, 10 in a row for the sausageTwinkies? The Twinkies are throwing around a pack of sausages for good luck. Hey, if it works, keep doing it. Royal's 6, Blue Jays won. Padres over the red, six to two. Phillies beat the Angels 2 to 1, and really the series to watch. It's now over. Braves beat the Mariners 5 to 2, but the Mariners take two out of three.
