Happy Friday, everyone. And if you're a member of Dubnation ORG, I'm sure you've been hearing some chatter about Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors ORG. We briefly touched on that. I'm now seeing quite a few people talking about it. Absolutely zero substance to verify this, to substantiate it. It's just something that peopleare talking about. He's a former warrior. So we'll briefly talk about Durant to the Warriors ORG and why not only would it not make sense, but it's just a damn near impossibility. And also why, while other programs are playing checkers talking about Durant PERSON, we're playing chess here on Locked-on Warriors, talking about Janus and Tacompo PERSON. Folks, the bucks are out. Third time in four years, they've been eliminated, I believe, in the first round. If I'm not mistaken, Janus PERSON cannot be happy. And that organization is a train wreck. All signs point to a rebuild. All it's going to take is for Yonis PERSON to simply say, I'm done with this. And the Warriors ORG are legitimate players for them. It's a huge what if.But again, it's an early off season. Get off my cloud. Let me fantasize. And let's have fun. It's a Friday. This is Locked on Warriors. You are Locked-on WORK_OF_ART Warriors.

That is the day that I'm recording this program. You know, before we get started, or before we get into the subject matter that I had prepared, I'm a spontaneous person. Sometimes ideas just pop in my head and I think to myself, that's worthy of discussion. And I didn't plan on this as a talking point initially. But here we go. Draymond Green PERSON. Draymond Green has been lobbying grenades this offseason. And what I mean by that is he is talking smack. And he's the lack of a filter is at a whole new level. And what I mean by that is he's been going on social media saying some just really bizarre things, borderline offensivethings. And what I mean by that is let's start here. I'm going to show you the tweet that Draymond PERSON published, I believe, two days, no, five days ago. No, geez, time just flies. Oh, my lord. Well, anyways, so Draymond Green on his Twitter account wrote, this was immediately after Chris Finch, the head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves was slammed into, but I believe Mike Conley, Side note, Devin Booker PERSON caused that foul. It was a frustration foul.He knew the series was over. He was pissed off, committed a hard foul. I believe on Mike Conley PERSON. Conley gets flung into his head coach, Chris Finch. And, you know, game stops. Finch PERSON has like his whole team around him.Nobody knows what's going on to that point, how serious the injury is. Turns out he's got a blown Patella in his knee, like one of the most painful injuries you could suffer. I believe he's, this is not the first time he suffered a major knee injury in recent history. That's a side note. But the point is, he was in pain. It was a very serious injury. He's going to undergo surgery soon.We don't know if he's going to be on the sideline for the Timberwolves ORG as their head coach or if he's going to miss time. But Draymond, right after this happened, goes on Twitter ORG and writes, you got to stay in the game coach. It's 140 left. Wish him well, though. And he has not deleted this tweet. He just let it stay up there standing. No sensitivity of any kind. And look, I'm not an overly sensitive person. I think humor is a vitally important variable for the human condition and for us to just survive in this world. So I'm pro satire. I'm pro comedy. I'm anti-sensitivity to an extreme level. But this is a bit much. I mean, the man was legitimately heard. And here's Draymond PERSON basically saying, tough it out.I don't care if you've got a torn Patella tendon. That is like that that's below your kneecap. And from everyone who I've read and heard who suffer that injury, they say it's the worst possible injury from a pain threshold you can experience. And and there, here's Draymond PERSON saying in a nutshell, tough it out. Insane. Now, and that's not where he stops. Draymond, uh, then yesterday decided to on his Instagram ORG account post this, which I'm going to share with you.And again, this is, if you're watching this on YouTube ORG, you're obviously going to see it. I'm doing my best to announce it all these situations for the podcast audience. So here was Draymond Green reposting just a few days later. This was an Instagram ORG story, a graphic originally published by Clutch Points, which did a comparison between Joelle Embed and Draymond Green PERSON. And the comparison was the number of flagrant fouls each player has been called for in their,I believe, in their careers. Now, and Joel Embed PERSON has been the news because that really exciting, tension-filled series between the Sixers and the Knicks ORG just finished up. And Beed PERSON was getting into it quite a bit in that series. He got, I believe he got called for a flagrant in that series, which elicited this content to begin with. And Draymond Green writes below this graphic, which shows that Draymond Green in his career has 21 flagrants. Joel Embed in his career has 23 flagrants. Yet Joel and Bede drew those 23 flagrant fouls in 489 games. Draymond Green has been called for 21 flagrant fouls in 970 games, almost double the amount. And so, so Draymond PERSON wrote below this graphic, hoodwinked, basically saying, try to protect his image, basically saying that, you know, the perception out there is, you know, he's a troublemaker, that he's one of the bad boys of the NBA ORG, and that Joel M.B. PERSON does not get the same treatment. And basically he's saying there's a double standard. It's kind of wild. It's a wild thing to bring up. It's kind of crazy to try and throw Joelle and Bede PERSON under the bus publicly to protect your own image. So that's been Draymond Green PERSON for you. And today is May 3rd. Who knows what's going to happen this offseason?Again, he's under contract with the Warriors for three more years. There's a lot of discussion about there about how if Draymond PERSON was not suspended in the first place, the Warriors could have easily been a playoff team this year instead of just being a play in team resulting in them not even making the playoffs. And this is Dre PERSON for you. And while the topic is on Dre PERSON, and again, this was not the plan, but the last minute I saw that story and I'm like, wow, so Draymond is on fire this offseason with his commentary. Why don't we hear from Dre real fast in terms of his exit interview this year? Draymond Green PERSON was one of many players. Actually, let me correct myself. Draymond Green PERSON did not participate in the exit interviews, but he did address the media following the Warriors Kings ORG game, which they lost. And Draymond was asked about the season in a nutshell.I thought his answer was interesting. And why don't we actually play that after we give some love to our sponsors? That's called the tease folks. We're going to talk about Dren. I'm thinking I'm going to go to two parts on today's episode, just because there's so much content to discuss. And so, and the Dremont thing again, it's, it has to be touched on. I'm going to talk about Duran ORG. I'm going to talk about Janus PERSON. I also still have these player surveys that I have to get to because some of these are fascinating. There's a lot to touch on. But we'll continue with Draymond PERSON for now. After I give some love to our sponsors for this afternoon, again, happy Friday. If you work hard, enjoy the weekend. You've earned it. You've deserved it.And let's give some love to our sponsors. First up today is game time. The absolute best resource for tickets. Summer's here. I'm getting old. In my prime, in my heyday, when summer was around the corner, my immediate thought wasmusic festivals, live music, concerts. I also love baseball a lot more back then. So we throw some baseball games in there. So whatever your plans are for the summer, if you want to go somewhere or do something that requires tickets, game time is the source for you. Never mind the fact that I mentioned spontaneity a moment ago. If you want to be spontaneous and buy some last minute tickets, Game Time ORG is the place for you. They cover you with last minute tickets. Their inventory is superb. Let's say you want to know how your view is from the seats you're looking at. Game Time ORG provides that feature. You can literally, whether you're using their app or on their website, you can determine exactly how with crystal clear quality, your view is going to lookfrom the seats you're thinking about purchasing. So that's a huge perk, but maybe the best part of game time. Besides the inventory that's going to get you tickets last minute, hopefully, no guarantees there, but their stock is incredible. Besides the fact that they give you a tremendous view of what your seat's going to look like. They offer a low price guarantee. What that means is, let's say you buy tickets from game time and then let's say you happen to see the same tickets in the same row and section from another ticket broker at a lower price. They will credit you 110% of the difference. That extra 10% is for your troubles, folks. And that's called a low price guarantee. So download the GameTime app, create an account, and use the code locked on NBA ORG for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply. Again, create the account and then redeem the code locked on NBA, L-O-C-E-D-O-N-N-B-A for $20 off.Download game time today, last minute tickets. Lowest price, guarantee.

And again, you follow me, Cyrus Sautz, on threads at Dog Wild ORG. Why don't we take a listen now? We're talking about Draymond Green PERSON.And he didn't do an exit interview. Steph PERSON didn't either. And my guess is the reason is because they made themselves available immediately following what still stinks. The Warriors losing in that playing game, getting blown out to the Sack Kings ORG, who they themselves then lost immediately after that.So Draymond PERSON was interviewed after the game, and one of the topics was just the season in general. I mean, for Draymond PERSON especially, he missed quite a few games because of the suspension. Again, a lot of people wonder if the Warriors ORG would have been a playoff team. I'm sorry, playoff team. If he hadn't been suspended, he's important for this team. He's still got it. He might not be the Draymond of five, ten years ago, but he's still an elite player. And here is Draymond Green talking about the 2023, 2024 season. Drey, how would you categorize this season for you personally?

Speaker 0907.52s - 910.92s

Um, interesting.

Speaker 4911.82s - 912.76s

Very interesting.

Speaker 0914.78s - 1008.06s

But it was fun. Always enjoyed playing basketball. Like I said, going to war with those guys in that locker room each and every night was made anything that I went through personally worth it. Because I got to step back in there with the guys that have my back each and every day. So I never really look at it like from a personal standpoint. You know, I've had incredible years where I've been All-Star, defensive player a year, champion, all of that. It's never about what it necessarily is for me, personally. You know, so I'm always when I take the good with the bad. You know, I don't, not a frontrunner. I don't only show up when it's good. I show up even more when it's bad, you know. And through the ups and downs in this season, any time, you know, it's time to show up. And, you know, that's what I would do, you know. I said the bumps in the road along the way that sucks. Made it a lot easier walking in the locker room and practice with those guys. So interesting nonetheless, I think I grew a lot. And, you know, you take that growth, you channel it, find other ways to grow, get better, keep pushing forward.Interesting words.

Speaker 41008.24s - 1534.04s

Here's my theory about Dream on Green and why he started off this off season in a petty, kind of feisty mood. He's, you know, going after Joel Embed, you know, call, again, that Chris Finch tweet was pretty wild. I mean, the man literally tore his Patel PERSON tendon, one of the most gruesome injuries to a knee you could experience as a human being. My theory is he's bitter about not being invited to the U.S. GPE Olympic team. That is my theory. Draymond Green PERSON has never been short on confidence. He believes he's one of the best players in the NBA ORG, even if he's not an elite score. And, yeah, I think he's one of the best players in the NBA, even if he's not an elite score. And yeah, I think he's pissed that the U.S. Olympic team, which won the goal, I believe, with him on the roster in 2016, did not ask him to play this year.I'm not saying that's justified, but that's just my guess. And it's a guess. That's all it is, just my theory. But it wouldn't surprise me if he was upset about that. Regardless, Draymond had an interesting year. We all know how the season started, led to the suspension. He only played 55 games this year, started 52 of them. Offensively, he wasn't bad. I mean, he didn't come close to his peak levels offensively, which he experienced from 2014 through 2018, when in each of those seasons, he was a double-digit score. And that stopped happening as of 2018-19. But his 8.6 points per game were the highest in a single season since 2018, which is good. The most fascinating stat for him was his three-point shooting. His three-point shooting percentage was second on the team. You heard that correctly behind Stefan Curry. Draymond Green shot 39.5% on the year from deep. The vast majority of those threes were coming early in games. And the success was experienced much more so early in the season, as evident by the fact that if you look at his splits pre versus post All-Star, before the All-Star game, he shot 42.1% from Deep.Post-All-Star, 35.8%. In the months of November and February, he averaged 50% shooting from deep. That is incredible. And then the bad months from March, where he shot just 24.2%.And December, granted, he only played four games. That's where he experienced that in January, where the bulk of the suspensions, that where he lost minutes in games. He shot 35.7% from 3 in December, 38.5 in January. But nonetheless, he was second on the team in three-point shooting. He's always relied on for his rebounding. He averaged 5.9 rebounds per game this year, which was low by his standards. That's actually the lowest number since 2020 when he averaged 5.7. Last year, he averaged 6.3. The 5.9 rebounds per game are at exactly his career average of 5.9. And again, the Draymond Green of 2015-16, the year the Warriors won, 73 games, doubt we're ever going to see that version again. That Draymond Green average 14 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 7.4 assists per game. That was Draymond Green PERSON at the peak of his powers. His assist numbers this year went down to, what a number? You know what? I apologize real fast. I was reading you his defensive rebounding numbers. I'm so sorry. His rebounding average for this year total was 7.2 rebounds for game. I'm so sorry about that.I've been reading you as defensive rebounds. Wrong column. I just poor visuals on my part. Look at what I'm looking at. Okay. His rebounding average was 7.2, which was the same as what he averaged last year. His career average in rebounding is seven per game. And so that year I was talking about 2015-16 when the Warriors won 73 games, he averaged 9.5 rebounds that season. Again, this past season, he averaged 7.2 rebounds per game.He is a career 7.0 rebounds per game rebounder. Sorry for being repetitive there. Assists. We all know he is a facilitator in the offense. Average six assists per game this year. That number might have gone down a bit because of Chris Paul's PERSON presence. But it's still above his career average. For his career, Draymond average is 5.6 assists per game.In that incredible 15, 16 year that I'm now comparing his stats to, he averaged 7.4 rebounds for assists. I'm sorry, per game. And his overall stats for the year, again, 8.6 points per game. You know, you don't rely on Dreyas PERSON for scoring. 7.2 rebounds per game. And six assists per game. Those were his numbers for 20, 23, 2024. But again, the three-point shooting, 39.5%. That waseasily a career high and was second on the team. His second highest three-point shooting season was, again, that 2015-16 year, the 73 win Warriors. He shot 38.8% from three that season. But don't expect that next season, okay? But still, not bad at all, not bad at all. So, and again, Draymond PERSON is a pivotal part of this team. He was second in net rating this season. But he's a little testing this offseason. And we all know how important he is, right? It's, you know, well-behaved, productive, Draymond Green PERSON leads to success. An unhappy troubled Draymond Green leads to trouble for the Warriors ORG. And I've also said this for it. I'll say this again, Steve Kerr and Draymond Green PERSON are attached at the hip. The moment this team decides to move on from Draymond Green, that is when Steve Kerr PERSON becomes very vulnerable. But as long as the Warriors rely on Dre, they know full well that there's really only one coach in this game that has any chance of actually connecting with them, of actually having him listen. And that's Steve Kerr PERSON. So those two are attached again and very curious to see what Dre does next season. Let's hope the Warriors ORG get him some size to support him. I'm going to save the Durant and Yonista for part two, because when we come back, I want to read the results of this player survey, which has some phenomenal content.Again, this was a player survey conducted by the athletic, where they talked about everything on the player's minds. It was a player survey. There's not much more else to say about that, but the results were interesting. So why don't we cover that after we give some love to our second sponsor of this Friday, and that is that classic game Monopoly Go PRODUCT. It's game time when it comes to Monopoly Go PRODUCT. And I know what you're saying. I've talked about this endlessly flag on the play. Enough Monopoly Go PRODUCT talk. But there's just so much good stuff in this game. Thank you for making Locked-on Warriors or first listen every day for the everydayer. Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicles ORG. He's going to join me Monday night. Approximately 7 p.m. Pacific time. We'll go live.I'm going to try to convince them to go for a whole hour so we can get a two-parter in there. We'll try to answer your questions. Again, Sam PERSON is a beat reporter, which means he travels with the team. He's in the locker room. He is literally an insider. Super stoked to get him on the program. And the Mark Jones of ESPN ORG will also be joining this program soon. And don't forget to follow me on threads, the lesser of two evils, add dog wild. So let's get to the player survey. And again, I'm going to do a two-parter today. So stay tuned for part two where I'm going to talk about Durant and Janus PERSON. But for now, I want to share my screen and show you some of these survey results.I covered one of these on the last show. That was the player's opinion on who the goat is and 45% approximately voted for Jordan PERSON, 42% approximately voted for LeBron James PERSON. We kind of talked about that on the last program. I think you all know what my feelings are in the goat debate. It's Michael Jordan PERSON by a landslide. It still drives me insane. It's even a discussion. But that's part of life. That's part of human behavior. You know, it's a lot of people are not old enough for member Jordan PERSON. And it is very important to note as well before we move on from this topic. Almost everyone, I'd say easily 95% of people old enough to have experienced and watched Jordan PERSON play. Those same people are also old enough to have experienced and watch LeBron James PERSON play. We actually have perspective. And people with that perspective almost universally say Jordan PERSON's the goat because they experienced it. They saw how specially was. They saw how much of a guarantee it was in the 90s. If he played, the Bulls ORG were going to win.It was titillating television. He was he was transcendent literally. And it's just not even a debate. And I feel like everyone who says LeBron PERSON is the goat or is even worthy of being in that discussion are folks who just were not old enough to see Jordan PERSON play. And they have no clue what kind of impact he had on the world around them.Never mind the game of basketball itself. So, but anyways, I digress. We talked about that last show. Let's get to the rest of the survey results. First off, question, you're building a roster from scratch. Who are you going to sign first?Excuse me. And the results of this were not surprising at all because age plays a huge factor in this. I think size plays a huge factor in this because a bigger player makes life easier for the team around them. Please listen to that Steve Kerr PERSON, Mike Dunlaby Jr. And Victor Wimbunyama PERSON was the winner of this. Not by much, though. He got 27.9% of the vote. Nicola Yokic, a close second with 27.2%. And again, I think this vote came down to Wemba Njama being nearly 10 years younger than Yokic PERSON. And then Anthony Edwards, third, with 10.3%. And I continually, endlessly get bitter. Excuse me.Every time Anthony Edwards name comes up because the Warriors ORG, in case you have missed this, could have traded for them. They could have swapped picks in 2020. I wasn't hosting Locked on Warriors then. I was hosting the Rick Berry shows, so all the receipts are there. Again, this is why I think you tune into this program.Your Uncle Sai here knows what he's talking about. In 2020, I was advocating, begging for the warriors to swap picks with the Minnesota Timberwolves who side note wanted to do it. It was their idea. But then we also learned a year ago, courtesy of Anthony Edwards, that Steve Kerr PERSON had no interest in drafting Anthony Edwards. He thought Edwards PERSON was too immature. The Minnesota Timberwolves themselves were not sold on Anthony Edwards. That's why they were proposing the pick swap because they were not certain of who they wanted with the top pick, but what they did want was the following year's first round pick back from the Warriors, which they had lost in the Andrew Wiggins PERSON trade. No, right?Wait. Anyway, I'm going to, no, but the point is that was a huge part of the reason for the Timberwolves wanting the pick swap was because they wanted their 2021 first round pick back that the Warriors had acquired. And again, that could have been negotiable because basically that pick turned into Jonathan Cominga, butthe Warriors ORG just and Steve Kerr PERSON didn't like Anthony Edwards. So now he's 10.3% of NBA ORG players would pick him first if they're going to start a roster.Luca Donchich 8.8%, Shea Gilgis, Alexander 4.4%. And then going down the list, Stephen Curry did get votes of 136 votes cast by NBA ORG players.
