Let me know in the comments down below on YouTube ORG. I look at all the comments. I see everything you're saying. Trust me, I see some of y'all every day down therecommenting. Tell me trade targets you want to look at. Someone about Darius PERSON, we're going to look at the Cavaliers in a week or two. We'll see when that one comes up kind of naturally, probably once they're done with the postseason. But there's a very realistic trade there that I think could get done as well. So a lot more to comehere on Locked on Pelicans. No slowing down for the postseason whatsoever. Today's episode of Locked on Pelicans is brought to you by Monopoly Go PRODUCT. We've got to talk about Monopoly go. This fast-paced game lets you team up with friends for tournaments to unlock awesome prizes like unique stickers for trading, cool playing pieces, and hilarious emojis for taunting your friends. So download Monopoly Go now free on Google Play ORG or the app store. All right, let's get into what I think is genuinely big news, especially when it comes to the New Orleans Pelicans ORG here. You know, they're going to make some changes. They want to make some changes. And one of the things we're going to be looking at a lot this offseason is trade targets for the New Orleans Pelicans ORG.Who can they realistically go out and get that would make a significant difference on this roster that would upgrade this roster? And one of the names that we're not going to spend a ton of time about his on-court fit or anything like that in today's show is Trey Young PERSON. That's a guy we are absolutely going to look at, along with Deontay Murray PERSON, and what would a trade look like between the Pelicans and the Atlanta Hawks for one of those two guys? And could it include other players as well? And by the way, absolutely will. But Trey Young has long been represented by Clutch PERSON. That has been his agency, but he announced two days ago that he is switching from Clutch to CAA ORG. All right, yes, switch agents all the time, no big deal. This is a bigger deal than you realize just because of the reputation Clutch PERSON has around the league.Clutch PERSON is run by Rich Paul, LeBron PERSON James, his best friend essentially, and it's essentially LeBron's agency. They represent a number of big-name players around the league and they have a bit of a reputation for being difficult to deal with or potentially not looking out in their client's best interest and maybe steering them at the whims of LeBron James. Clutch PERSON represents a number of players on the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron, Anthony Davis, I think Jared Vanderbilt PERSON as well. And the secondAnthony Davis switched to Clutch from his old agent, who was a New Orleans GPE native, by the way, you kind of got the feeling that he was going to want out of New Orleans. Clutch PERSON has also kind of clashed with CAA ORG and other agencies in the past as well. So for Trey Young PERSON to switch is pretty significant. New Orleans GPE, I think a lot of people who get into the agency stuff feel you don't want to have clutch guys on your roster. You don't want to deal with Rich Paul PERSON. You don't want to deal with, you know, whatever that may mean. They tend to play very hardball in negotiations, trade negotiations, things like that. Just kind of avoiding them seems to be something that a lot of teams want to do. And then I think New Orleans GPE might want to avoid as well. We have David Griffin here, worked in Cleveland, worked with LeBron James and Clutch PERSON, supposedly has a good working relationship with them. But still, if you can avoid a guy who's represented by clutch, I think that maybe is a really good thing. And when looking at trade targets and guys that New Orleans GPE could maybe sell on coming here, you know, those agents and those type of relationships really start to play a big fact. So Trey Young, a realistic trade target for New Orleans GPE, no longer being representedby an agency that maybe you don't want to deal with, is a good thing. You know, we saw those Anthony Davis PERSON, that Anthony Davis trade requests get ugly real fast. A lot of that was due to what clutch was negotiating and how they were kind of negotiating and the recommendations on strategy to try and force his way out as quickly as possible. It didn't end up working. He wanted to be traded during the regular season, and they ended up trading him after the regular season to the Lakers ORG. But they did everything they couldto kind of undermine the pelicans NORP in their negotiation power to get a deal done sooner rather than later. I don't want to have to go through that again. Look, say they trade for Trey Young and bring him in if he, for whatever reason, is unhappy right away or after a year, I like that he's going to be represented by another agency and maybe you don't need to worry about some of the, I don't want to call it unprofessionalism because it's not that, just those very aggressive tactics that can kind of hurt a franchise. And so now you don't need to do that. You feel a whole lot better about working with him and not dealing with the other just stuff that comes with it. And I think that is actually a very good thing. It's worth noting Deaunte Murray PERSON on the Atlanta Hawks is represented by Clutch and Rich Paul PERSON. If you have to choose between one or the other, does that kind of change things, right? Lonzo Ball, represented by Clutch, left New Orleans GPE immediately, right? The Bulls ORG got fine to draft pick, docked a draft pick for tampering with that.Is this something that you want to deal with? And I'm not sure that the answer is yes. So this is a situation where it could be better to go after the guy. And if all things are equal, Trey Young, Giante Murray PERSON, do you go with the guy who's represented by CA over the guy who's represented by Clutch PERSON? New Orleans doesn't have a single player represented by clutch on the rosterright now. The Lakers have one, two, Lakers are four, by the way. The Jazz also have four as well, which is kind of surprising to see. But the pelicans have zero, and I think that's somewhat notable here. So that switch by Trey Young is a pretty big deal and maybe influences the Pelicans in what they want to do this offseason. Definitely something to keep an eye on. And we'll have more on Tray Young and De Yante Murray PERSON as well in the future when we do some more trade targets. But I think this one was pretty significant. What was also pretty significant is the report from Sham Sharania about Brandon Ingram and Willie Green having an exchange after game two of the postseason. But you know what? One, I'm not really worried about this and I'll explain why and two, I think it's actually a really good thing. Let's talk about that coming up here next in today's episode of Locked on Pelicans. Right now, though, I'm excited to tell you about Yahoo Finance ORG. This is Jake from Lockdown. Lockdown has teamed up with State Farm to spotlight some of the greatest supporting players in NBA ORG history. You know Michael Jordan won six NBA titles and Kobe won five titles withPhil PERSON Jackson running the triangle offense, but did you know that Phil didn't invent that offense? There's one man behind the scenes that helped Michael Kobe and Phil win 11 championships in a supporting role. His name was Tex Winter. As a Navy veteran serving in the Second World War, Tex returned to college at USC, whereas Coach Sam Barry PERSON taught him the triangle offense. As a coach, he worked his way through the ranks in college starting at Kansas State and his assistant to Hall of Famer Jack Gardner PERSON.Tex would later become the head coach at Kansas State ORG and wrote a book about the triangle offense. In 1985, Tex joined the Chicago Bulls as an assistant and helped teach second-year guard Michael Jordan PERSON how to run his triangle offense. Three years later, Phil Jackson PERSON became the head coach and the rest is history. Even legendary coach Phil Jackson needed someone like Tex Winter PERSON to support his team success. Sometimes you and I need that kind of support too.Think of State Farm ORG like a pivotal team player. When you need help protecting the things that matter most, remember the jingle and just say, like a good neighbor, State Farm ORG is there. Notice if you'rewatching on YouTube ORG. I'm trying some new things with the thumbnails too. Let me know what you think about those in the comments down below. Jason Quigley PERSON, this is for you. I got the solution.Make the switch to Lockdown Sports Today ORG. A free 24-7 streaming channel program for you every day to bring you the best stories without all the screaming. So let's talk about this report from Shams PERSON. I honestly don't think we needto spend that much time on it because I just don't find this to be a very big deal, to be perfectly honest with you. And if anything, this is good. This is good in a way that you probably weren't expecting. So, Sham Sharania reported that after game two of the postseason, the playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Brandon Ingram and Willie Green PERSON had an exchange with Brian Ingram saying, like, help me get the ball. And they got into it.There's not really much else reported from that. And I think he's kind of framing this in the sense of like the future about Brain and Ingram PERSON after a very bad playoff series is up in the air. And I think that's a fact. That's true. But it also doesn't mean we need to read too much into this. It's a long season. The Pelicans had just gotten blown out after game two. Are tension is going to be high in that situation? Absolutely. Right. Not everything is going to be all kumbaya over the course of an 82 game season plus postseason games when things aren't going well.So guys getting heated, not being happy about losing and having a bad game, this is all good to me. This is all a good thing to me. I mean that in a way. If Brandon Ingram PERSON was just quiet and okay with that performance, that's not a good thing, right? If Willie Green PERSON was happy with brain and humor with the team, that's not a good thing. The fact that no one was complacent about this, not that they had changes they could really make, though there were probably some. The fact that people were upset, they lost a game rather than being like, yeah, whatever. Good. Have some pride. Have some passion. They showed that there. Getting into it with each other is an okay thing. It doesn't mean a relationship is necessarily fractured. It doesn't mean that's not something that's inherently broken. It doesn't mean that both need to go or even one of them need to go, though there do need to be changes made. It just means they were upset. Not a bad thing. They shouldn't have been happy about that. The whole team should have been pissed off.So having some fire, having some emotion, which you don't always see from this squad, is a really good thing. Again, it just shows that changes need to be made. Brandon Ingram PERSON needs to have these realizations that things aren't going the way that he wants them to go with the way that he plays. He had the ball a lot. He's the focal point. He had the ball a lot. He's the focal point. He had the ball in his hands. You know, if he's saying, help me score, not help me get the ball, but help me score. Sure. But also, he was passive. There were multiple times he had looks at the room and he did not take them at all. That's not a head coach thing. That's a player thing. By the same token, no, Willie Green PERSON needs to grow and evolve and change too and be able to be a little bit more innovative on offense, not lean so defensively either. This is just a good thing that people aren't happy with what's going on. You don't want this organization to be happy with what's going on. You want there to be not frustration, not something that kills, say, chemistry and other things like that, but you wantthese guys to not be okay with losing, not being okay going out in a sweep in the first round of the playoffs. That's what is one of the things this says. It also says both these guys, Willie Green and Brian and Ingram PERSON definitely need to change and evolve. And if they can't do that, no, you need to send one or both of them out of here. But I don't find them getting into it inherently a bad thing because that can lead to change. That can be the catalyst for them. And I think that's a really good thing and something that'sneeded here in New Orleans with this Pelican NORP squad. So hearing this report, I don't think is this damning thing. I don't think this is the Pelicans leaking something or Brandon Ingram PERSON leaking something to try and cause things, right? The Pelicans want to move on from one or both of these guys. They can do it and I don't think they really need to try and justify it to the fan base. It's pretty obvious that things need to change, right? And also, they don't really care what the outside perspective is with things.Look at how they operate with the lack of transparency. Some of the stuff we've talked about here on Locked-on Pelicans WORK_OF_ART. I don't care about that. They don't care what the media or the fans think about some of the moves they make or how they operate. They operate how they operate, and it's as simple as that. So this is just, to me, much ado about nothing, in my opinion. You know, any other reports of discontent or things like that, that's going to happen over the course of an 82 game season, right? Man, it probably happens to you at work where you're frustrated with a coworker for a little bit. Then you just move on from that. And you keep going business as usual because things got to get done and, you know, things don't just stop for all of this. So I've seen a lot of the reaction on social media to this and I don't think it's just that big of a deal. And frankly, if you're looking for like a positive spin on it, good. Don't be happy with getting swept.Don't be happy with not scoring over 92 points in four playoff games. Though that, that Oklahoma City Thunder defense just held the Dallas Mavericks to 95 points. Though Luca PERSON might be hurt in that series and that kind of changes that one, I think. But this is overall, I think, a very good thing. No one should just be complacent here. And if they're yelling at each other and frustrated after losing, good. You should be. I'm frustrated they got swept. You, listener, are probably frustrated they got swept. The team better be frustrated frustrated they got swept. You, you listener, are probably frustrated they got swept. The team better be frustrated that they got swept. The players better be frustrated. The coaching staff should be frustrated. The front office should be frustrated. And hopefully, ownership is frustrated as well. We'll do a show on ownership at a point, probably next week, I think. This is all our right. This is kind of how it goes and at times it's going to be business as usuala little bit here when it comes to it. And I find it to be a good thing that no one is complacent. Let me know whether you agree or disagree in the comments down below on YouTube here. So coming up next, let's look at the roster a little bit and try and figure a couple of things out. But I'm also going to tell you, I don't know if we can figure the roster out yet, and I'll explain why. That's coming up here next in today's episode of Locked-on Pelicans. Right now, though, we're talking again about Monopoly Go PRODUCT, and I know what you're saying. Technical foul on Jake PERSON here. All of that's important to what this is going to be a pretty important saint season and Ross Jackson PERSON is making sense of everything black and gold. I'm actually about to go see him as soon as I'm done recording. So go chunk out Locked on Saints WORK_OF_ART.Make sure that is your second listen today. So I put out a question and feel free to let me know what you want to hear on Lockdown Pelicans. It's the off season. We got a little bit more time to kind to dive into certain topics and things like that. And one of the questions a couple of people said was like, project the roster for next year. Look at that. Tell me what, you know, who's safe, who isn't. I'm here to tell you we can't do that right now. We can't do that at all right now. And that is because there's so much unknown about this team currently in the moment. You know, when you look at this roster, who's safe and who isn't, I can't really tell you. I would assume Zion Williamson PERSON is safe. I would assume Trey Murphy and Herb Jones are safe. I would assume maybe Jordan Hawkins PERSON is kind of safe too. But not necessarily. Everything else, I think, is up in the air. You know, Brandon Ingram PERSON, I could see them giving him an extension.I could see them not. I don't think it's for sure a foregone conclusion that he is going to be gone next season. So when we look at this roster, I don't know. You know, you want to say some of these young guys should be safe. A guy like Dyson Daniels who's showing some promise, Jordan Hawkins. But at the same point, you know, if Trey Young PERSON's available or another massive big name player is available, Lowry Marketing ORG or others, they're going to be,one of those guys is going to be included in a trade. Look, we're going to do a show on Devin Booker, and I would move near heaven and earth to bring Devin Booker PERSON in. I think if you could put him on New Orleans with Zion Williamson PERSON, the rest of the roster will sort itself out. That is kind of the key, I think, to kind of winning. A guard that can score and have that kind of gravity would be truly a tremendous thing for the Pelicans ORG.Trey Young PERSON fits that mold a little bit, too. I don't think he's nearly as good as Devin Booker PERSON is. But if you want to go get a player, you're going to have to give up something. And it's not just going to be draft picks. It's going to be young, you know, guys that could be good in the future. There's a risk involved with that, right? Look at Nikiel Alexander Walker PERSON, who's got a role with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Look at Josh Hart making an impact with the New York Knicks ORG. Now, Nikiel PERSON wouldn't have developed into that player here, like at all. There was no chance of that. He needed to bounce around before he kind of figured out the way to stay in the league and for him to be most effective. We would never have developed into that player here. And that's not a knock on the Pelicans ORG. That's more of like a Nikiel PERSON thing, I think, right? You know, look at Jackson Hayes PERSON not developing it all elsewhere either. It kind of comes and goes with some of these players. But you've got to give up stuff. And there's a risk for that. There's a risk for that. You know, look at Jackson Hayes PERSON not developing it all elsewhere either. It kind of comes and goes with some of these players. But you've got to give up stuff. And there's a risk for that. There's a risk for that. This team doesn't get into the postseason two years ago without trading for C.J. McCollum PERSON. So that was a really important thing. So all of this is something that really is something that you got to consider, you know, how valuable are some of these guys? Because I don't really think very many people are safe. We can run down the roster a minute here.Let's do it by experience, right? Start at the top end of things. The oldest player on the team, Jonas Valchitz PERSON. He's gone next year. CJ PERSON, maybe, maybe not. Cody Zeller PERSON, maybe, maybe not.Larry H. Jr. PERSON, I think, is a big question mark right now. It could easily be traded just because of his salary. Brandon Ingram, we're not sure about. Zion Williamson, we're assuming it's going to be here next year. Naji Marshall, he's going to be gone. He's going to take the highest paying deal he can and that is absolutely what he should be doing. Herb Jones PERSON, I think he's going to be pretty safe. Trey Murphy, I think is going to be pretty safe. You know, Jose PERSON Alvarado, love Jose, but I could see them including him in a trade or tryingto kind of upgrade with a little bit more size or shooting at that position. Jeremiah Robinson Earl PERSON, like, don't, don't, doesn't matter there. Matt Ryan PERSON doesn't matter that much. Dyson Daniels easily could be included in a trade. Same for Jordan Hawkins and the same for E.J. Lidap PERSON. So when you look at that, there's so much uncertainty here and things are going to come down to the draft trades and how they want to remake this roster. So trying to project that and predict that right now, there's no way to do it. There's no way to do it. I don't think they're going to move Zion Williamson, but the past two years they looked at it. They considered it. It was conversations they were having. We knew about the Scoot Henderson PERSON links and talked about that. It was reported that even a year before that, and the year that he missed entirely, Zion Williamson PERSON did, that they looked to train him. That was reported by Mark Stein PERSON. All of that is on, you know, potentially on the table here. So trying to project the roster right now is impossible. There's also a guy like Carlo McEvich who they brought over from Europe LOC and played with the G. League team. What's his role going to be next year? You know, how does he fit it? Will he make the roster? It also might depend on roster spots that they have. Whether they're going to pay the luxury tax or not is a factor in this as well. They should. I want them to. But all of those are going to be big question marks right now when it comes to this team. This is a good thing. We don't wantto see them completely run this back. I'd like to keep some of the players, some continuity, and I think there's growth from some of the players to be had. But overall, really, we want to see some changes for this team to be as good as possible. And they did not do it last year. They underachieved. We saw holes with the roster and we knew that.So I'm glad we don't know. I'm glad we don't know that who's going to be on and that it's impossible to predict right now. That means that we're going to be able to go and talk a lot about it and see some changes next year. And I'm really excited about that. And that's the most important thing. So it's impossible to project. But it means we're going to have a fun off season. It means we're going to get some trades. We're going to get some changes. And I like that. So make sure you'resubscribed to Locked on Pelicans ORG, the number one Pelicans podcast, because we're going to cover it all off season long for you.
