Today's episode is brought to you by Game Time ORG. Download the GameTime app, create an account, and use the code locked on NFL for $20 off your first purchase. Terms and conditions apply. Guys, Jackson Smith and Jigba PERSON. Keith, coming off of a year, I think he was wide receiver one.He was the first wide receiver drafted in 2023. He started the run because it was like four consecutive wide receivers, him, Quentin, Jordan Addison, and Zay, and Zayflowers PERSON. Those are the four that came off the board consecutively. You look what he was able to do in 2023 with D.K. Metcalfe and Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet, and Tyler Lockett. Like, this is an offense that has a lot of playmakers, right?63 receptions, 628 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns on the season. And I have them as a guy that I expect to take a big leap next year. I think that we're going to start, I'm not saying you phase out pilot locket guys, but I do feel like JSN has to take that step in the rotation as a wide receiver two in 2024, right?

Speaker 2183.48s - 186.18s

So I want to cut you off and ask you why.

Speaker 1186.26s - 245.18s

I think the people would ask why to both questions, right? Why do you have to start phasing Tyler lock it out in your opinion? And then why does Jackson Smith and Jigba have to be the Y receiver two for this offense? I think Jackson Smith and Jigba PERSON is peeking towards being the better player, right? Of course, the age is on his side, right? Younger player, you know, I would say right now, better athlete. You know what I mean? We see with Tyler Lockett, you know, and Todd Lockett PERSON, one of the more intelligent players in the league, right? Understanding his size, at his age, I'm not taking a lot of these hits.I'm not going to give you a ton after the catch anymore. I'm going to catch this first down, and I'm going to get down where you look at JSN ORG. He's got the frame, he's got the strength. He can catch the ball in high traffic areas. Great route runner. Showcase good speed in the NFL as well. He's not the slow slug that people thought he was. He's probably not the four, four, whatever he ran is pro team. You know what I mean? But he's, you know, I still don't believe that time.

Speaker 2248.38s - 331.52s

But I still don't believe that time, Keith. But I do feel like, man, like watching him down the stretch last year, when they gave him the ball, I think he averaged a little over five targets a game. This is a really tough division. Yeah, you're going to run the ball. But at some point, you got to score points. This is an offense that took a step back.I think taking a step forward, getting JSN ORG going earlier in games. He could be that chain mover. He can do more things right now at this stage of his career compared to Tyler Lockett. So I think Todd Lockett could still be a pseudo safety blanket at times for Gino PERSON. But I'd rather go ahead and start grooming and getting JSN ready to be that wide receiver two. And maybe potentially wide receiver two and maybe potentiallywide receiver one whenever that time with D.K. Metcalf PERSON decides to walk off and change teams due to money situations whenever that contract ends. Yeah, I think for this year, it's a good spot for JSN ORG, right? But like you said, you do expect the workload to increase. And I'll be interested to see how to utilize him, right? And then because you're talking about he's primarily a slot player, right? And then Tyler Lockett is primarily a slot player. So it would be interesting to see what happens just, you know, with that combination. And then what does the target share go to DP? My guy, I got to start with the number one overall pick, right? Who much is given? Much is required. Last year, Bryce Young, season, stats, right? 2,800 yards, 11 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, a QBR of 33.4.

Speaker 1331.78s - 342.8s

I believe, yeah, I don't, I think that's on a 100 point scale. And so the conversation is, is this, that we always talk about with quarterbacks,

Speaker 2343s - 360.7s

situations matter, right right situations they matter and we identified very early on before they even played the season right before even game one was like this is not a very good wide receiver core this is not a very good offensive line disappears that this can be a problem right

Speaker 0360.7s - 365.9s

and from the very outset dp it was a problem, it was a problem, right? It was a problem and people

Speaker 2365.9s - 467.84s

tried to diagnose it and they tried to go to play design and everything else. And it's as simple as what was on the field, right? Like simply, hey, can you get open? And we said that they're going to play man across the board and then they're going to force these guys to get open. And I don't think anybody changed that, right? And so you've seen this often struggle, you've seen Bryce Young struggle. But if we stay true to what our notion is, is that situations help quarterbacks more than people like to talk about. I have to say that this is a muchbetter situation. Right. You're talking about a guy like Xavier Leggett PERSON, you know, who's coming in, a 4-4 athlete 6-2, right, can jump out the gym. He still has a safety blanket and Adam Thielen PERSON, but then also now you get this short area quickness guy in a Deante Johnson PERSON, who has the opportunity to, you know, get open quickly and do some different things. So I like this situation and this setup as far as the trio of wire receivers. Then you add in the Jatavian Sanders PERSON, right? And then I'm still looking at, you know, the number one tight in, Tommy Trimble PERSON. So we know, which is another interesting piece to add into that. But hey, if you get, and this is an interesting situation, right, but you're talking about that second trio of wire receivers, right? So after the top three, the next three that come off, right? You're talking about Terris Marshall PERSON. You're talking about Amir, Smith, Morset, and then, you know, you're talking about Jonathan Mingo PERSON. If you're able to get something out of one of those guys, too, or even something out of two of those guys, now you'retalking about a top five situation, right? You're talking about having five wide receivers, and you like a Jonathan Mingo as a Y receiver forward versus him being your Y receiver one, which he was asked to do early on last year is what they thought he was going to do.

Speaker 1468.7s - 483.66s

No, they drafted him, Keith, to fill the shoes of DJ Moore who you traded to get Bryce PERSON, right? You rarely ever see a team say, let's go get a number one quarterback, but let's trade away our best wide receiver to do so.

Speaker 0484s - 508.2s

No, you try to trade somebody else. You trade Brian Burns PERSON. You trade J.C. PERSON You trade another, a defensive player. Keep your number one wide receiver for that quarterback who's going to be a rookie. And I think, and I saw, shout out to my boy, Monty Fetty PERSON off of Twitter. He's a Carolina Panthers ORG fan, one of my guys. He, too, I think he tweeted out this past weekend. He saw a lot of DJ more in Xavier Legates ORG game as well.

Speaker 1508.32s - 582.78s

And I was like, you know what? That's not a name that ever popped into my mind. But then I started thinking about it. And I was like, that kind of fits in terms of you talking about. And this is the things that I think about, Keith PERSON. What would DJ Moore would have done for Bryce Young PERSON?Give him a true target hog. Give him a guy that slants, you know, in cuts, deep crossers, shallow crossers. Give him a big body, strong physical guy that can make plays after the catch. All it takes is give it your point guard, distributing the ball to him, and he's going to be able to make plays after he gets the ball in his hands, as well as a deep threat, a guy that once he learns how to use the physicality as we've seen for dj more when you crowd his space at the line of scrimmage he knowshow to throw guys off right jemar chase has mastered that just playing literally like playing like being a wrestler at the line of scrimmage fighting you off getting vertical and didn't you know that and that's the part i want to see bryce really that leap. He starts connecting on these outside deep balls with a guy like Xavier Ligette PERSON, who we've seen take off on SEC defenders time and time again in 2023. That's a big, that's a big get. So Deontay Johnson PERSON, and then I can't even forget the undrafted kid,Jaylon Coker, that a lot of people are hype about in Carolina GPE.

Speaker 0583s - 585.18s

And they're expecting him to probably push one of these,

Speaker 1585.9s - 604.42s

a mingo, a TMJ, Amir Smith-Marset to push one of those guys for playing time. So I can't wait for training camp, Keith PERSON, you know, to be able to go to Charlotte GPE and see how this team plays. But Bryce Young PERSON has a better core, and you didn't even bring up Jatian Sanders PERSON.Tommy Trembles PERSON a great blocker. I don't see a lot of upside as a pass catcher.

Speaker 0604.42s - 613.36s

I see the upside with Jetavian Sanders PERSON. He's the best and most talented past catching tightening that they've had, in my opinion, since Greg Olson PERSON.

Speaker 2613.84s - 627.66s

So give me, let's get him in the lineup. Let's get him going and get that chemistry down with B.Y. Yeah, and wrap this up real quick. And they also addressed the offensive line, right? I believe what they signed, Damien Lewis PERSON and was it the right guard? Robert Hunt PERSON also.

Speaker 1628s - 723s

Yeah, so they improve the offensive line too, which is extremely important, something we always talk about on the show. But DP PERSON, let's keep it going, man. We have a couple more guys, right? We're going back to the skill position players. We're going to have a cornerback, right?Out of the NFC East LOC. And then we're going to have a wide receiver who people split on, right? And I'm going to fall on one side of the fence. So coming up next, man, we're going to have a wide receiver who people split on, right? And I'm going to fall on one side of the fence. So coming up next, man, we about to have this really good conversation. Guys, you don't have to worry when it comes on to buying ticks to your next big NFL ORG game. Trust me, I know what that's like trying to buy tickets for a Carolina Panthers ORG game. When Cam Newton PERSON was the quarterback, you didn't know if the seats were good. Like, you didn't know what was going on. And you weren't sure if you were going to enjoy the experience. But game time is where you need to start and end when it comes down to your ticket buying experience. With killer last minute deals, all in prices, views from your seat and their lowest price guarantee, game time takes the guesswork out of buying NFL ORG tickets.Speaking of buying NFL tickets, one high profile game, I absolutely am interested in going to, is the Baltimore Ravens at the Kansas City Chiefs opening night. Tickets on the Game Time ORG app right now are already at $364, and that is the cheapest, guys. So take the guesswork of buying tickets with game time. Download the Game Time app, create an account, and use the code locked on NFL for $20 off your first purchase. Download the Game Time app, create an account, and use the code locked on NFL for $20 off your first purchase. Download the GameTime app, create an account, and use the code locked on NFL for $20 off your first purchase.Second year players, Keith PERSON, that we expect to take a leap, and we're hoping to take a leap in 2024, man. Who's your guy? You said, wide receiver that people are split on.

Speaker 2723.62s - 800.22s

Yeah, DP, I have to go with it, right? Quentin Johnston, Y receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers ORG. And this is a multi-folded type of situation, right, and approaching the reason why he made this list. First off is that I graded him high, right? So he needs to pan out, DP, he needs to pan out.He needs to do his thing. But last year, he had 38 receptions, 430 yards, two total touchdowns, right? So he needs to pan out, D.P. He needs to pan out. He needs to do his thing. But last year, he had 38 receptions, 430 yards, two total touchdowns, right? And I thought that his, if you asked me, how did his rookie year go? I would say, I would say probably a rollercoaster, right? Highs and lows, there were some ups and downs, peaks and valleys, right? That's probably, I think that's the best way to say is because there was some very explosive explosive moments right we like uh oh it's about to turn on then there was some moments where there was some concentration drops or you know routes not being ran the right wayum you know coaching staff and you know little things coming out so i would say some peaks in valleys as far as what quentin johnston's um ricky year was but why did he make it the second time right is well why did he make it the second time, right? Well, why did he make this list in the second part of what I was trying to say was that everybody else gone. Keenan Allen is in Chicago. Mike Williams is in the New York GPE, right?I believe he's a New York GPE jet. So it's your show is you the rookie lad McConkey PERSON, right? And I think is Josh Palmer still on this.

Speaker 0800.3s - 822.26s

I think Josh Palmer is still on this team. So Quinn Johnston PERSON, you, you're the big dog now, right? Like you had one year to be able to learn from those guys to be able to play with those guys there is no more split of target share so if i'm looking at that i'm saying hey it's probably it's primarily you you you're the big guy you're the the six to 220 pound guy that we're going to right that's going to have to take those shots and we always said this too this is another thing because

Speaker 2822.26s - 861.68s

i think if you pull it up on ESPN ORG just just the targets, right? He wasn't targeted a lot, neither. Like that, he has some stretches, especially early in the season, you know, three, three targets, two targets, three targets, two targets, six targets, three targets. That's the first eight games, right? So that wasn't very many targets out there. I'm expecting the floor to be at seven or eight per game now, right? Because he's the dudes. He's the guy.So if you ask me a second year elite player, I'm thinking Quentin Johnson PERSON is going to make that second year leap. I'm expecting some lows, but I'm expecting a lot more highs than lows plus an increase of target share.

Speaker 1862.5s - 905.58s

Yeah, I tweeted out of him working out with Marvin Harrison Jr. And, you know, it took off on Twitter where people tried to, people took it and like, oh, look how much better Marvin is to Quentin Johnson PERSON. I'm like, no, look at these two big wide receivers, stopping on the dime, cutting out of the brakes, and working on their craft. That's what I tweeted this video out for, guys, not to compare the two receivers, but like to highlight, these are dudes who are working their butt off right now. And I'd love to see it from QJ because, like you said, last year was an up and down season. And Keith, you know, watching, studying the Detroit lines, you know, and watching some of the teams I have in my NFL ORG region for us over at the draft network. I had to come across QJ a good, you know, a decent amount from last year. And he was getting

Speaker 2905.58s - 913.76s

open. Like I love how how the IQ of finding soft spots in zones, him breaking off routes,

Speaker 1914.1s - 952.26s

sitting in spots, allowing the quarterback to see that big target at 6263 and everything. He was able to make plays after the catch, make a guy miss, get extra three, four yards here. And then he did have big plays. You saw what plagued them early with Justin Herbert PERSON was when Herbert gave him dimes, he dropped them, right? Like he had some, like you said, the concentration drop. And I don't even just think of his concentration drops. He had some just hand mechanic issues where he's trying to, you know, catch the ball like this insteadof, you know, as old school weight with the diamond. Let's see the ball into your hand. He's not, he did not look confident as a rookie.

Speaker 0952.5s - 976.5s

But down the stretch and it was crazy because it was an eastern stick, I think was a quarterback when Herbert PERSON went down. Then you start seeing QJ PERSON play a little bit better. I think it was, what's it against Denver ORG? I think against Patrick Sertan PERSON. He had some nice plays. He had a deep ball versus Denver ORG, tracked it well, made a play at the catch point, like finding his way, you know, running good routes in the red zone, getting open for a touchdown in the low red.

Speaker 1978.5s - 1012.32s

This is the Quentin Johnson. I kind of remember. This isn't the full TCU ORG, but this is some of what we saw at TCU. And I'm just, I'm just excited for him in 2024, because like you said, it's Palmer PERSON, his lad, it's him. And then you got the two seventh rounds, Brendan Rice and Cornelius Johnson PERSON. Do I think they're going to be able to just walk right in and push QJ PERSON? Not necessarily.I think those guys are going to have to work their way up the depth chart as well. And again, like you said, Keith, Jim Harbaugh PERSON's there. Jim Harbaugh PERSON saw this guy torch him in the, semi-playoff game in 2020.

Speaker 21012.38s - 1013.14s

Two years ago.

Speaker 11013.3s - 1104.06s

Yeah, you know, two years ago. So, like, you know what I'm saying? Against his number one corner, right? Be able to define ways to give him the ball. You think Jim Harbaugh PERSON don't know, all right, what did TCU ORG do well with him that torched us?Well, let's implement that in some of what we can do with him as well, especially with this team planning on running the ball. So I'm all with you on that, and you are 100% correct. People are absolutely split on QJ PERSON. People don't want to rock with him. They don't want to give him no credit.I think he's going to have a better season. I think he's going to flying under the radar. We get to week six and seven. And then he's their lead and receiving people like, oh, so this is what you're hype about. Yes, this is what we were hype about. But Keith PERSON, I'll flip to my guy, man. I'm going to go, like you said, NFC East LOC cornerback who had a rough season. Emmanuel PERSON for him. I think he's a second year breakout candidate and lead candidate, man. And, you know, you look at, I go right to that, what, first game where he really struggled. He struggled against Denver ORG, you know, yards. He had loud five, four receptions on five targets for 86 yards. But the first sign of trouble was the first game, week four, at Philly, nine catches on 13 targets for a buck 97, right? You know, against AJ j brown PERSON where you saw that size become a problem against chicago the very next week three for three DJ more three 76 yards you know what I mean just outmuscling this kid why I think he's going to take a leap who is his new defensive coordinator as head coach dan quinn what does dan quinn run

Speaker 01104.06s - 1139.02s

cover three we saw it with deron bland who literally came out of nowhere somebody tweeted at me as head coach, Dan Quinn. What does Dan Quinn run? Cover three. We saw it with Duran Blan PERSON, who literally came out of nowhere. Somebody tweeted at me, D.P. underscore NFL ORG and tell me, where you had Duran Blan PERSON as a draft prospect coming into the league. I bet you can't. So, like, you know, we watched Ron Blan PERSON take a step, being leading the league in interceptions last year. We seen Trayvon, you know, Trayvon Diggs PERSON, be a baller in that scheme. And it's the eye discipline. It's the you have deep thirds, read the route concepts, be an athlete, go make the plays. And what was one of the best things that we scouted when he came on the Manu Forbes, Keith PERSON, his playmaking the ability, catching the ball. Doesn't he have the,

Speaker 21139.02s - 1145.08s

he owns the, I think the SEC record for pick six in his career? I think it's the NCAA ORG record.

Speaker 11145.26s - 1154.28s

Like the NCAA ORG all-time record for pick sixes during a career. And think about all the great corners we've seen come through college football in history, Keith PERSON.

Speaker 21154.28s - 1160.56s

Like Dionne Sanders, Dorel Revis, Charles Woodson, Saus Gargner, Patrick Peterson PERSON.

Speaker 01161.12s - 1166.58s

And for him to own the pick six record, that's incredible. So that's why I'm

Speaker 21166.58s - 1266.6s

high on him heading in the year too, because with his size, why are you playing them? Like, you know what I'm saying? I think it was Jack Deereo last year. Why do you got him up on the line of scrimmage playing physical press man against 230 pound AJ Brown, 215 pound or whatever strong receiver in DJ Moore PERSON? It doesn't make sense to do that you play him off you play him in zone you give him some some off man coverage and allow him to just read and react and not have to get hands on Roger McCreary his rookie year walking to the NFLand wasn't getting bullied around like that why because he said I'm a soft press you I'm not going to hard press if you want to play man that's what you do with Emmanuel Ford PERSON. But I think he's going to be and he's going to have a big year, Keith, in this Dan Quinn PERSON system, in my opinion. Yeah, I'm right there which. And I thought that there was a rather good name pull, especially somebody that people, I think they've written off almost already, which is crazy to do it after a rookie year. But everything aligns. And that's why we always talk aboutsituations, situations, situations. That's why even when we go through draft prep, right, we talk about whether we like players as far as scheme-wise and what they, you know, the pros, the kinds. And what is their, we always talk about this, their path to success, right? What is their path to success? And I think that Emmanuel Forbes being with Dan Quinn PERSON, being in a cover-through scheme, gives him a more clear path to success and being a successful corner. Because like we said, we know the ball skills that up. But DP, let's keep going, man. And I am going to Bill PERSON's nation, right? Bill's Mafia to talk about my next guy, my second-year guy that had a good year. But I'm expecting that even bigger leap from him. So coming up next, man, we're talking. Second-year players,, second year leaps.

Speaker 11267.16s - 1342.88s

Just visit fandul.com slash locked on and make every playoff shot count because Fandul is America's number one sports book. Thank you for making locked on and make every playoff shot count because Fandu is America's number one sports book. Thank you for making locked on NFL ORG draft. Your first listen today and everyday shout it for being our everyday is Keith PERSON.We are sticking in the AFC East to both of us, man. And Keith PERSON, I got to, I got to say, like that is, we didn't talk about this.

Speaker 01343.24s - 1354.78s

But we're both in the AFC East, man. So Dalton Kincaid, second year leap. Like you said, he had a good, you alluded to, good rookie year. Let's talk about it, that second year for Dalton Kincaid PERSON.

Speaker 21355.42s - 1463.78s

Yeah, nah, so I'm looking at it right in season statistics at 73 receptions, right, 600, 73 yards, two touchdowns. I expect all of those numbers to increase, DP.P., and I just talked about this with Quentin Johnston, right? And partially because it has to. I am a fan of Keon Coleman PERSON from a perspective of I think he's a talented footballplayer. I thought he was a first round guy. He didn't go to first round. He went in the first pick of the second round. That's fine, too, right? But it's him and Dalton Kincaid PERSON, right? And everybody knows that I like Khalil Shakir PERSON also. But I expect Dalton Kincaid's PERSON share to go up. Like because you're talking about 100 plus targets for Stefan Diggs PERSON, right? It has to get split somewhere. And they drafted this guy because I feel as though they felt that we're going to try to run this offense through a tight end like the Kansas City Chiefs ORG have done, right? With Travis Kelsey PERSON. So when I say that what is the Kansas City Chiefs have done, right, with Travis Kelsey. So when I say that what is the next leap? The next leap is this, that Travis Kelsey PERSON, I want to pull up his numbers. You're talking about 1,000 yard a year wire receivers, right? I think that's the next step for Dalton Kincaid PERSON in his offense because it's going to have to be the two touchdowns.I expect that to increase, right? I would love to see that closer to the 10-ish mark, right? So I'm looking at Travis Kelsey the past couple years. He went for 984 last year with 93 receptions. 22, he went 110 receptions, but 1,300 yards and 12 touchdown. So somewhere but closer to the 85 to 90, closer to the 1,000 yard mark and closer to the double-digit touchdown mark. But Don't Kincaid. And like I said, it's more so because he has to. But I think he has shown that he's a skill player. And I thought that he started to look like an NFL ORG guy. And what I mean is that the game slowed down for him. And he looked comfortable playing a game of football at the highest level.

Speaker 11464.52s - 1470.66s

Absolutely, Keith PERSON. I 100% agree with you. I love the name pull. And that's a rookie. He had 91 targets, right?

Speaker 21471s - 1488.42s

So he's not even far off of that 100, but I'm with you. I want to see 110, 115 for him because he's such a difficult cover for linebackers and even safeties as well, Keith PERSON, the route run. Remember the game that really put them on the map in the 2022 college football season was a USC ORG game

Speaker 01488.42s - 1541.18s

where he absolutely torched them. And everybody was like, man, like this dude can ball because I think before that game, I think most people in the Scottish community were looking at Brant Keithy PERSON. The other tight end as being the dudeand Dalton Kincaid PERSON just took that leap. And then even for more context to add to your point the last three like the last two pre last two um regular season game than the first uh game in the playoffs right the wild car game againstPittsburgh GPE um on new year's eve against the New England Patriots seven targets four receptions 87 yards over 21 yards per attempt um the the final game of the regular season against Miami GPE, eight targets, seven receptions, 84 yards, 12 yards per.Against the Steelers in the wild card, six targets, three receptions, 59 yards, 19, almost 20 yards per catch. And he had a touchdown in that game.

Speaker 11543.26s - 1583.48s

So I think, like you said, no digs, no Gabe Davis. And they started to really factor him in late in the season. I think we're going to see that right out the gate. And then that also will help Keon Coleman PERSON because then teams have to try and stop Dalton in the middle of the field. And he comes that coverage indicator pre-snap.Then you get those one-on-ones where you say, you know what, Josh Shalant PERSON and his deep ball, his ball, his ball, his accuracy, the arm talent, and the gunslinger mentality. He's going to be able to look at Keon-Colman PERSON, find those advantageous one-on-ones, and really start to feed the young man, plus Kalia Shakir PERSON. I'm excited to watch this Dolphins, I mean, this Bill's team next year. But speaking to the dolphins, I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself.

Speaker 21583.84s - 1584.6s

Wait, I want to.

Speaker 11584.66s - 1588.32s

Oh, yeah, go ahead. No, I just wanted to make 1.2 D.P. And why I think that

Speaker 21588.32s - 1593.08s

is going to go up because I think the coach is going to look at efficiency too, right?

Speaker 11593.12s - 1596.78s

Efficiency. And what I'm talking about is the percentages, right? So when I throw the football to you,

Speaker 21597.08s - 1643.7s

do you catch it, right? Like, when I throw the football your way, do you come down with it? And I'm saying is that the receptions to target ratio, right? So you look at the bingoes, right? He went 10 for 11. Then followed up Denver. He went five for six. Then the New York Jets, six for seven. Then the Philadelphia Eagles, five for six, right? So that's just one, you know, small stretching there against the dolphins. He went seven for eight, right? So as a quarterback, you want to know, hey, when I let the football go, this guy's going to come down with it, right? And we're on the same page. We're seeing the defense the same exact way. So I didn you want to know, hey, when I let the football go, this guy's going to come down with it, right? And we're on the same page. We're seeing the defense the same exact way. So I just want to bring that point up to another reason why I think it is because he's going to be he's effective and efficient at what he does also. But DP, I know you want to get into your Miami Dolphins ORG, right? Your South Beach 305, you want to talk about one of those dolphins down there. So who do you want to talk about DP?

Speaker 11644.48s - 1748.48s

Man, Cam Smith, going back to the defensive side of the ball, Keith PERSON, cornerback for the Miami Dolph ORG. Second round pick, he was selected 52nd overall last year. A guy that only played, I think, in five games, he only had 22 defensive snaps. And why I think he's a second year candidate for a breakout into lead.Xavier Howard is no longer there, Keith PERSON. Like, you know, they cut him this offseason because he's a second year candidate for a breakout into leap. Xavier Howard is no longer there, Keith. Like, you know, they cut him this all season because he's a cap casualty. They had to save money. So they went ahead and cut bait with him to help their salary cap. And when you have Jalen Ramsey PERSON, and essentially this young man, I think he battled some injuries last year too, but being in the room with Jalen Ramsey PERSON, I think they were on, if I remembercorrectly, Rams at one point a couple years ago, were on hard knocks. I with Jalen Ramsey. I think they were on, if I remember correctly, Rams at one point, a couple years ago, were on hard knocks. I remember Jalen Ramsey PERSON coaching up the young D.Bs and talking to those guys. I remember watching the video, him kind of telling him, hey, if your eyes in the back field, watching the quarterback, you're watching him complete passes on you because you're not watching your receiver. And just what he's able to do and bring to that room in terms of being the leader a leader being knowledgeable one of the best corners in the game still i think cam smith was going to soak up that knowledge intake that and then with his physical skill set and ability he was one of the better corners in the 23 uh really like a good group of corners last year really good group of corners last year and i think now similar to what you said about QJ, about Dalton Kincaid PERSON, I think he's going to have to be relied upon Keith PERSON. I think it's a must that they rely upon him to step in and be that opposite corneron an island away from Jalen Ramsey PERSON. And I think the leap is going to come in where he can make plays on the ball because guess what teams are going to try and not to do? They're not going to try and target Jailen Ramamsie 10 times a game they're going to go to

Speaker 01748.48s - 1774.18s

who they perceive to be the weak link and you know what that's fine take that weak link mentality that or take that weak link label if they want to put that on you well i'd rather not go at jalen i'd rather go at the kid who barely played in 23 fine but make them pay for that every time they target you pass breakups physical, take the ball away, and those are things that he did very well. So I'm excited to see Cam Smith be a full-time starter and healthy in 2024.

Speaker 21774.94s - 1811.46s

Yeah, I'm with you. And I like Cam Smith PERSON a lot. I think I was really close to giving him a first round grade. I thought he had the appropriate length. I thought he was a fluid guy. I thought he was an explosive athlete. And I thought he can survive in press man situationsconsistently. So I think it's going to be a fun situation to see what he does. And like you said, right, be opposite of Jalen Ramsey PERSON. And if you're a competitor, right, that's what you want. Target me. Go ahead and try me so I can show you exactly what I can do as a football player. And I'm going to make you pay. And I'm going to make you think about going to jail and Ramsey PERSON next time, right? That's what we're going to do around here. DP, if you could hear it in my voice.I almost got a little amped up, man.

Speaker 01811.76s - 1817.88s

Almost got going to little bit. Yeah, the competitive. The competitive juices are flowing this morning, man. We are going and flowing right now.
