If the Philadelphia Eagles stay put at the 22nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, who are their top options? We're going to get into that and some day two prospects as well on this Friday edition of the Lockdown Eagles ORG podcast.

Speaker 271.2s - 90.12s

You are Locked on Eagles, your daily Philadelphia Eagles ORG podcast. Part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day.

Speaker 491.24s - 150.6s

What's up Eagles ORG fans? Welcome on in. I'm Louis DiBiase PERSON, co-host of the Lockdown Eagles ORG podcast. You can find my work also over at Bleach Report ORG, same with Gino Camilleri PERSON, my co-host and our scouting directoron today's edition of the Lockdown Eagles ORG podcast. We're going to get into Prospect versus Prospect Talk of the the Eagles stay put at the 22nd overall pick. What are our preferences in certain scenarios? We're going to do that same thing with their second round picks as well. And then get into, since we're trying to get back to that 2022 success, how do we think the roster looks on paper compared to that team? We thank you so much for making Lockdown Eagles your first listen each and every day. And, you know, Gino PERSON, when you look at it, again, I think this is the,we've been talking a lot about scenarios lately, what's to come for day one. Because with Howie Roseman, as we've said a million times, he's so prone to trade up. He's so prone to trade down. Like he very rarely stays put. But that is a scenario that, you know, last year he stayed put and took Nolan Smith PERSON. In 2020, he did stay put and take Jalen Rager PERSON. So I think it's definitely something to explore.

Speaker 5151.74s - 158.7s

There's also going to be a lot of smoke going on right now in reports. So just be cautious with what you read.

Speaker 4158.7s - 164.56s

There was a report today from Matt Miller of ESPN ORG that the Philadelphia Eagles could potentially be in

Speaker 5164.56s - 188.2s

talks with Seattle to be a dark horse team to go and move up to that 16th spot potentially at the same time you hear things like Jackson Powers Johnson all the sudden isn't like a top interior offensive lineman in the draft and you hear all of that's a team that loves him trying to get him to fall yeah so take everything you hear with a grain of salt, besides Howie Roseman PERSON and the fact

Speaker 4188.2s - 193.34s

that he trades up or down, because that is actually factual and that's probably what is going

Speaker 5193.34s - 193.84s

to happen.

Speaker 3193.84s - 197.32s

And I've said it a couple times, but I'm going to say it again.

Speaker 0197.54s - 203.24s

So right where the Eagles are at 22 is such a difficult territory to be.

Speaker 5203.24s - 203.6s

I agree.

Speaker 4204.1s - 207.5s

Because when you're in a personnel department,

Speaker 3207.78s - 210.36s

you'll hear teams two, three years down the road

Speaker 5210.36s - 223.2s

when you revisit these draft classes, how many quote unquote first round grades they had on these players. There's 32 picks in the first round, but there's not 32 guys that teams grade out as worthy of being a first round player.

Speaker 0223.3s - 234.6s

It usually falls anywhere between 16 to 20 guys. It could be more. It could be less. It depends on the draft. If it's like 2013 where there's like seven guys that you could take

Speaker 5234.6s - 256.6s

and the rest are second round picks after that. And there's some all-star type of classes where the Eagles ORG make out and they get lucky and they turn around and they grab Jalen Carter and then they turn around and grab Nolan Smith, two guys who probably were first round grades on their board. But being at 22, getting to sum all this up, if you have

Speaker 3256.6s - 263.18s

17 guys with first round grades, let's say, and you're at pick 15 and you only have two of

Speaker 5263.18s - 314.52s

those guys left, that's when the phone start heating up. But there was a tweet today, Lou PERSON, that I want to pull up and I'm going to grab it here on my phone. It was from Jim Nagy and it was talking about if the first round played out exactly like this in terms of how many picks were to be taken. So it boiled down to, and I, excuse me, I should have had this pulled up, folks. This is bad podcasting all and all.Okay, so Matt Miller PERSON tweeted. He said, four to five quarterbacks, seven to eight wide receivers, eight to nine offensive linemen. 20 of the 32 picks in the first round will likely come from those positions. Then Jim Nagy PERSON quote tweeted and said, gyms that don't have teams that don't have glaring needs at those three spots are feelinggood about some studs at other positions being pushed down. Howie Roseman, number 22, and Brad Holmes PERSON, number 29, got to love how this first round will likely unfold.

Speaker 4314.68s - 315.54s

That's interesting.

Speaker 5315.54s - 341.74s

That's a good way to think of it, actually, because, you know, I was going to say, you're so right. After you get to pick 20, it feels like if you do pick for need, let's say, you don't really feel like, even if you get a guy at that position that you're like, okay, we're set now, right? There's a lot more questions. It is closer to a second round pick. The grades are a lot closer there. Butthis draft, because it's going to be so quarterback heavy receiver and like a few, just a few

Speaker 0341.74s - 350.9s

positions, like offensive tackle as well, it actually might be a year where you do want to stay put because there might be a few steals that you didn't expect to fall down the board.

Speaker 4351.62s - 354.94s

I mean, let's just simply do the math from that equation right there.

Speaker 5355.02s - 359.12s

You say four to five quarterbacks, seven to eight wide receivers. Let's just play it safe.

Speaker 4359.38s - 392.04s

You add that number together. Let's take five quarterbacks because more than likely there will be five. I would expect six, to be honest with you. Let Let's play safe with five. You take seven wide receivers. That's 12 players already right there. You say eight to nine offensive linemen. What if the Eagles ORG plan isn't to take an offensive lineman and it's to take the best defensive player at whatever position is on the board? Because that's what it's going to come down to. This truly is the Eagles could potentially have, let's say, five or six defensive players with first round grades,

Speaker 5392.22s - 397.52s

but how many teams are going to overdraft and over target offense?

Speaker 4397.82s - 400.8s

Maybe that's why Howie Roseman PERSON is going all in.

Speaker 0400.8s - 416.2s

And Jim Nagy PERSON, to say that, he's not somebody that is just a random quote unquote internet scout. This guy is the director of the senior ball. Like he is plugged in. I'm sure there are discussions that he has heard that the Eagles ORG could potentially love, let's say one

Speaker 5416.2s - 446.76s

of these cornerbacks, let's say one of the defensive linemen, let's say a linebacker. That could be the best case scenario for the Eagles, Lou PERSON. And on the other end of it, what if none of these defensive players have those first round grades and that first round does play out like Matt Miller and Jim Nagy PERSON are saying, that's when the Eagles ORG get into panic mode and then they go and trade up. Not panic mode, I would say, but more on the edge of their seat for Howie Roseman to kind of lean forward and say, it's time to go and get my guy.

Speaker 4447s - 451.96s

Like, I got to go up and get my Jordan Davis by giving up a three or four and get my

Speaker 0451.96s - 461.42s

Jalen Carter and get my Devante Smith PERSON. I'm going to do that. So I'm not taking a second round graded player in the first round, which going back to Marcus Smith PERSON,

Speaker 5461.82s - 471.82s

many teams had that kid graded out as a third round type of player. Talk about an overdraft. That's the scenario you get into when you're drafting right around that 20 to 25 area.

Speaker 4471.98s - 486.5s

Yeah, it's a tough spot to be in, but this might be the year that you do like to stay put. Who knows? Because, you know, even if it goes offense heavy in the top 10, top like 12 to 15 picks, there's a lot of teams, though, in that 15 to 20 range that needs some defensive help.

Speaker 5486.62s - 493.14s

So I think you're going to see a few edge rushers go, a couple defensive linemen on the interior. Right.

Speaker 4493.22s - 497.34s

Howie PERSON isn't the only one that knows that this is going to probably see how it plays out?

Speaker 5497.44s - 502.88s

At least two of those corners are not going to be in range, like inside the, or I should say

Speaker 4502.88s - 534.2s

outside of the top 20. Like maybe Nate Wiggins PERSON falls, but like I can't imagine there's a scenario where Quinion Mitchell's on the board or Terry and Arnold PERSON. So I do think it's still worth exploring these other prospects. It also takes two to tango, Gino PERSON. Some teams just might not want to trade up for one of these players, because like you'resaying, if the grades are that close, how he might not be able to find a partner. So coming up next right here on Lockdown Eagles, I want to do a prospect versus prospect exercise for potential options at 22, also in the second round as well. So we'll get into that coming up next right here on the Lockdown

So, Gino, today we're talking that 22nd overall pick. We're exploring options if Howie Roseman PERSON does not, like let's say the board does not fall his way and he can't go up for one of those corners or one of his few offensive tackles he wants to trade up for is not available and there's not a partner to trade down because as you mentioned, once it gets to like pick 20 and back, the grading does kind of get a lot closer than it does inside that top 15 where there's a clear separation and talent from these prospects. So there might be a scenario where they have to pick at 22.So I drew up some prospect versus prospect scenarios for you and I want to get your thoughts. If they're sitting at pick 22, which prospect would you prefer in these scenarios? So I want to start at the cornerback position where in this scenario, Terry and Arnold PERSON's gone. So is Nate Wiggins. So is Quinnian Mitchell. You've got Cooper DeGine from Iowa or Koolaid McKinstree PERSON from Alabama GPE. Who would you prefer in that scenario? So like CB4, CB5. And it's all rankings vary with

Speaker 5718.92s - 734.98s

those two, it feels like. The thing about the gene is you're most likely probably going to see him play a similar role to what Chonty Garner Johnson PERSON plays, in my opinion, where he's a pseudo coverage type of safety.

Speaker 4735.24s - 737.3s

I don't know what he's going to be at the next level, honestly.

Speaker 5737.54s - 738.86s

He's going to be a good football player.

Speaker 4739.12s - 748.84s

That's for sure. He's a heck of an athlete. You can put him on the field. And for a Fancho PERSON style of defense, man, we haven't talked about the potential to have a chess piece in Cooper DeGine

Speaker 0748.84s - 755.42s

where, but Kinshry PERSON, you're really banking on. He's going to be the next guy up at the outside corner for your future.

Speaker 4756.56s - 757.64s

That's a tough decision.

Speaker 0757.88s - 759.14s

That's what they talk about.

Speaker 5759.14s - 759.16s

You're right.

Speaker 4759.2s - 772.94s

I guess it depends on the role, right? It's like what you're looking for in that corner. And if you don't believe DeGine can be a full-time boundary guy and he's just a Swiss Army ORG knife that does all the other things really well, slot corner, safety, moving around the formation, that might change

Speaker 5772.94s - 777.62s

your mind. And at the same time, do we not already have guys like that and read Blankenship PERSON and

Speaker 4777.62s - 782.82s

Chauncey and who we brought in and Sidney Brown PERSON who from his mouth verbatim said that he

Speaker 0782.82s - 785.54s

should be ready for the season this year as of today.

Speaker 4785.84s - 794.26s

So I like the McKinstree idea because one, I think the discussion between him and Terry and Arnold PERSON,

Speaker 5794.58s - 797.22s

when there's two prospects from the same school,

Speaker 4797.22s - 800.54s

it almost kind of feels like they're never on the same level with each other.

Speaker 5800.76s - 804.9s

When the discussion in the media is like one always has to be better than the other.

Speaker 0804.9s - 830.68s

I think these guys are like really, really close to each other, When the discussion in the media is like one always has to be better than the other. When I think these guys are like really, really close to each other, almost like the Alabama wide receivers a couple of years ago with Devante Smith and Jalen Waddle PERSON. Like it was a lot closer than people made it out to be where most of the time, everybody's like, oh,Devonte Smith's going to be the first guy, the first guy. And then all of a sudden Miami ORG pulls the trigger and the discussion was they wanted Jalen Waddle PERSON. It could be like that loop where maybe this team has Xavier graded out higher than

Speaker 5830.68s - 835.12s

Terry Arnold. I think it would be crazy with Terrian PERSON's age and his upside and his character.

Speaker 0835.12s - 840.7s

Like he's, he's for sure going to be a number one guy. But at 22, if you're going to say what I want

Speaker 5840.7s - 846.18s

for a cornerback, I think the McKinstree PERSON pick would make the most sense for what you

Speaker 4846.18s - 850.42s

don't have in the cupboard. You're going to stock him in there and you could potentially already have

Speaker 5850.42s - 857.2s

with Ringo and him, maybe your future two outside corners potentially. Yeah, I'm with you. Like,

Speaker 4857.28s - 861.68s

I think Dijin has some advantages over McKinstree PERSON. I think he has better ball skills. Like he has

Speaker 5861.68s - 868.18s

very natural hands. It almost looks like a time. Yeah, he's a great playmaker. Yeah, he's catching like a receiver. I mean, his body control is unreal. He's

Speaker 4868.18s - 912.84s

way more versatile. He's a great tackler. Like he's aggressive. But for me, again, I'm not looking for that Swiss Army ORG knife. I feel like this defense has those options as you alluded to. I'm looking for that boundary option in the future to replace James Bradbury if Keely Ringo PERSON's not that guy. And even if he is, Darius Slay is probably only going to be here for one more year. And McKinstrey PERSON just, I don't know, he's a more fluid athlete in short area. I think he's more explosive. Like Dijin PERSON has good long range speed, but I don't know, stiffer hips. Like when he's playingpress against like an elite route runner, I'm a little more concerned with him than I would McKinstry. McKinstree was a guy at Alabama that, like his teammate on the other side, Terry and Arnold PERSON, that team was very comfortable putting him on an island. And I love that. I want an island guy at corner. You want the island boys.

Speaker 5912.98s - 913.86s

I want the island boys.

Speaker 3914.18s - 916.92s

Or at least a guy that I know if I put him on an island, he's going to survive.

Speaker 5917.08s - 919.74s

No, I totally get it. I'm with you. I think we're in agreeance here.

Speaker 4920.08s - 924.56s

And they're both good football players. Like, it's not. Dejean PERSON's a very high floor player.

Speaker 5924.7s - 927.58s

Yeah. If you draft him, he's going to be a legit playmaker.

Speaker 4927.66s - 940.9s

If we don't sign Chauncey Gardner Johnson a month ago, like, Cooper DeGine is, in my opinion, a clear and away favorite to be the number 22 pick, in my opinion. Like, you sit there and you let all those offensive guys go.

Speaker 5941.44s - 943.76s

Heck, if Cooper DeGine is there at 22, you take them.

Speaker 3943.82s - 945.4s

But in this scenario,

Speaker 5950.3s - 963.78s

it isn't like you have a bare bones covered like last year. And Justin Evans is your next man up. Like, no, you're, you're kind of set in the middle of that secondary when it comes to the coverage element, when it comes to tackling. Now it's those guys that can play outside of the numbers that are going to have to keep up with the X and Z receivers of today's age.

Speaker 4964.02s - 982.12s

All right. Let's go to the edge position here, Gino PERSON, which we explored in our last mock draft. We took Darius Robinson from Missouri now that Hassan Reddick PERSON has been traded. You know, the future at the edge is up in the air. It could be set. It might not be. Who knows? So I drew this one up for pick 22. Chop Robinson from Penn State or UCLA edge rusher, Liatu Latu PERSON.

Speaker 5982.58s - 984.1s

I like Latu PERSON more than you do.

Speaker 4984.1s - 985.82s

Yeah, this one I thought we were going to disagree on.

Speaker 5986.24s - 989.12s

I think it's a very floor versus ceiling conversation probably.

Speaker 4990.12s - 992.34s

Or am I being too hard on Lotton PERSON?

Speaker 5992.34s - 995.56s

I'm just nervous about the neck, man. The injury thing is a big thing.

Speaker 4995.56s - 1005.76s

You just kind of said it. And I had this weird thought in my head and I hate player comps. But the more I thought about Lottu,, like, is he just AJ Epeneza PERSON?

Speaker 51006.26s - 1008.12s

Like a lighter AJ Eponese PERSON.

Speaker 41008.12s - 1014.52s

It's funny you say that I got that kind of argument. Or like a Derek Barnett PERSON where like you said it like is the floor. What did it?

Speaker 51014.58s - 1016.78s

Like you're going to get a really good player for probably.

Speaker 41016.78s - 1019.84s

Sometimes that's bit me. Seven to eight years. Like that's a.

Speaker 51019.84s - 1021.1s

Yeah, that's a reason.

Speaker 41021.1s - 1023.76s

Player that you need to replace that role. Right.

Speaker 51023.84s - 1029.5s

Like you can make the argument that chop has a way higher upside.

Speaker 41030.06s - 1034.52s

That's why I like Robinson PERSON. But LATU I think is going to be the better player from the jump.

Speaker 51034.96s - 1037.48s

You need somebody to defend the run on the edge, though.

Speaker 41037.78s - 1064.28s

I trust Latu PERSON to do that a little bit more right now. But it's projection. These are the reasons why folks, when the Milton Williams pick happens and Howie Roseman goes to shake Tom Donahoe's PERSON hand and Tom Donahoe PERSON doesn't shake his hand is because there were disagreements in the war room like this, like, oh, you want to make that pick because you think he has a higher floor.Well, oh, I think he has a higher ceiling. This is what they do each and every day. So these discussions are 100% valid.

Speaker 01064.28s - 1066.42s

And if I had to say it right now,

Speaker 51066.64s - 1075.58s

with the way that the world is working at the edge position. And what the Eagles ORG like, man,

Speaker 41075.62s - 1079.36s

what they've been adding. I think Chop PERSON is like that kind of fastball style they like.

Speaker 51080.76s - 1083.88s

Somebody's either going to, you're either going to extend him for sure,

Speaker 41083.88s - 1110.98s

or somebody's going to pay him a boatload of money because they still believe in what he like could he be a bryce hoff type of guy who comes on like the last couple of years of his rookie deal and he really kind of breaks out it's two similar debates with jean versus mcynne and law two versus robinson it's again and but i will say gno sometimes it's bitten me when i have passed on the floor or the quote unquote safe prospect because a lot of times those are just really good football players and I swing out.

Speaker 51111.04s - 1145.7s

I don't think it's always a bad thing to, I think we just hype up upside so much, especially in the modern day quarterback era with that being the approach for most teams. Like that's what you want. But I think sometimes you can get tunnel vision with that and you just miss on, like a safe player isn't always a bad thing. But Latu PERSON, I don't know if it's safe because the, like the style and the talent is safe, but the medicals are not.Yeah, the medicals are definitely not safe. And I don't know how the Eagles ORG will look at it because they're one of the teams. You look into Kobe Dean PERSON that is more willing. I mean, Sydney Jones to take a risk on that type of player. Fair point. Josh Swett, even coming out of Florida State. A couple Sidney Jones PERSON to take a risk on that type of player. Fair point.

Speaker 41145.78s - 1147.34s

Josh Swett, even coming out of Florida State ORG.

Speaker 51147.34s - 1152.84s

A couple of years removed from that Nacobi Dean PERSON type of injury does that make you think twice.

Speaker 41152.84s - 1170.56s

But at the same time, one of our listeners, I wish I had their name, pointed out, hey, Landon Dickerson PERSON, he was injury prone as well. And look what happens to him, man. I mean, he doesn't play entirely his basically entire senior year down to Alabama GPE. And he comes to Philadelphia and he just got $20 million a year. So.Right.

Speaker 51172.06s - 1174.14s

Give me chop. I'll take chop in that.

Speaker 41174.14s - 1182.16s

We agree again. Here's an interesting one for you. Let's go luxury pick. Xavier Worthy, the receiver from Texas or Georgia tight end Brock Bowers PERSON.

Speaker 51182.5s - 1185.04s

Oh, I think this is easy Brock Bowers PERSON. I don't even think this is a Brock Bowers PERSON. I don't even

Speaker 41185.04s - 1211s

think this is a discussion to be honest with you. The heart for me is telling me worthy. The head saying Bowers, Bowers makes more sense long term and probably in the short term. So you can use 12 personnel. But again, you know, I'm so I've said on the show before, I would be so enticed to see worthy in this offense in the slot as that like fourth or fifth guy. I just think it would be such an unreal element to have like a four to player on this offense in the slot as that like fourth or fifth guy. I just think it would be such an unreal element to have like a four or two player on this offense.Well, he doesn't wear a Georgia ORG helmet.

Speaker 51211s - 1213.36s

So I mean, that's an automatic check against him.

Speaker 41213.36s - 1227.62s

I think how he would, even though I'd probably go worthy, how he's probably going Brock Bowers. Let's go to a more realistic one here for offensive tackle if they don't trade up. Tyler Guyton or Ameris Mims PERSON. I got to say this real quick.

Speaker 51227.82s - 1238.32s

Chad Reuter, NFL Network ORG, he put out a mock draft before the show came out. You want to know what the Eagles did in that mock draft, Lou PERSON? Did they take a lineman, a center?

Speaker 41238.32s - 1247.78s

They traded up to 16 to draft Graham Barton out of Duke ORG. That would be a great reaction for our live show, because I will probably break my computer.

Speaker 51247.78s - 1250.78s

If you want to see Lou DiBiase PERSON give up his radio career,

Speaker 41250.9s - 1258s

it would probably have in that moment in time. And look, Graham Barton PERSON is somebody that I think can play every position on the offensive line. He is such an athlete.

Speaker 51258s - 1260s

16 is rich, though, man.

Speaker 41260.18s - 1280.12s

At 22, I'd be upset, but I'd be like, okay, I guess I can like find a way to get behind it, although it would take me a while. If they trade up six spots to get not even, it's got to be, I would already be a little annoyed if it's offensive line. If it's not tackle, yeah, that would be a fun reaction for sure, but not in the way that we're used to the last few years when we just think the Eagles ORG are crushing it.

Speaker 51281.24s - 1286s

So you'd like thege boy Drake Drake Graham

Speaker 41286s - 1287.16s

Graham

Speaker 51287.16s - 1288.28s

but no I

Speaker 41288.28s - 1289.62s

back to the back to the point

Speaker 51289.62s - 1291.96s

Armarius Mims is one of those

Speaker 41291.96s - 1293.56s

two very raw prospects

Speaker 51293.56s - 1309.46s

but just so much skill incredibly raw Tyler Guyton getting back to the injury thing too like yeah are we going to have that discussion with all of these prospects at the same timeMims is one of those guys that just screams Jeff Stoutland PERSON in my opinion Like, are we going to have that discussion with all of these prospects at the same time? Mims is one of those guys that just screams Jeff Stoutland PERSON, in my opinion.

Speaker 41310.62s - 1311.28s

The wake is unreal.

Speaker 51314.2s - 1314.36s

Remember the tightest Howard conversation we had a couple years ago.

Speaker 41319.46s - 1319.76s

It's like you could kind of think about Armarius Mims PERSON in that same light.

Speaker 51322.8s - 1323.28s

And Howard ended up being the better pick than Andre Dillard PERSON, crazy enough.

Speaker 41326.52s - 1326.66s

Dude, funny enough, Houston GPE, they would have loved to be able to get him.

Speaker 51329.88s - 1334.34s

The Eagles ORG traded right in front of them to get Dillard, and Howard was the better player. It kind of was a panic pick for them, and hopefully that's not the situation that the Eagles get into.

Speaker 41334.58s - 1337.92s

But I'm going to throw in, I would take J.C. Latham PERSON over both of them.

Speaker 51338.1s - 1345.92s

Ooh, okay. I like that from Alabama GPE. I think he's a safer pick, but at the same time, I think he still has like high starter level.

Speaker 41345.92s - 1348.56s

Better chance of playing guard too compared to these two or not.

Speaker 51348.66s - 1354.64s

If you don't believe in Tyler Steen PERSON to play at that spot and you want him to be more of your primary. You know, Bamogizer PERSON versatile.

Speaker 41355.02s - 1369.56s

Stalin has the relationship with Nick Sabin PERSON and you know how that goes. And I wouldn't be all too shocked if that would be something that could potentially be on the board where we're sitting there and it's like yeah lou we should have seen this one comment right

Speaker 51369.56s - 1374.64s

i think guyton would be the pick between those two i think laytham PERSON might make more sense and i think

Speaker 41374.64s - 1379.5s

he is a safer bet um guyton of course you got the oklahoma thing with he's been you know lane

Speaker 01379.5s - 1393.62s

johnson's been a mentor to him the athleticism is just so enticing another guy that hasn't played the position very long which the eagles like to invest in. He actually played defensive end in high school before going to Oklahoma. So lethal first step. The injuries are there. But as you mentioned,

Speaker 41394.08s - 1479.64s

the Eagles ORG have been prone in the past to take chances on some of those guys, especially when they're not picking in the top 15 to potentially get a better prospect compared to what you normally would get at that spot. We're going to set aside the 2024 versus 22 talk. I want to continue this exercise. Gina, we got some day two options I want to get into.I want to keep this going. So we'll get into it coming up next right here on Lockdown Eagles ORG. Today's episode of the Lockdown Eagles podcast, we are brought to you today by Robin Hood PERSON. Speaker 41518.6s - 1563.96s

All right, Gina PERSON, let's keep this going. Prospect versus Prospect, we were really diving deep into some options potentially for that 20-second overall pick. But I think, honestly, where we have varied the most, like when we do mock draft Monday, is with that 50th overall selection and that 53rd pick. The good thing with the second round compared to the first is you do have options. It might not have to be this guy or this guy, because not only do you have two picks, but they're so close together. But I do want to get into this exercise anyway, because you're not guaranteed to get boththese guys in that second round. And I want to start here at corner again, as we did in segment one. And this one, I think, or segment two, I should say, this one I think we're going to agree on. Ennis Rake Straw from Missouri or Kyrie Jackson from Oregon GPE. Oh, that's not even a

Speaker 51563.96s - 1566.02s

conversation. Is it Jackson PERSON for you, too?

Speaker 41566.58s - 1566.86s

All right.

Speaker 51566.9s - 1567.7s

There's somebody.

Speaker 41568.1s - 1577.9s

Because he's not getting enough hype, I think is like a second round. I'm seeing so many mocks where it's third, fourth round. I'm like, he has so much more upside than a rake straw or so many other corners that are being brought up.

Speaker 51578.9s - 1632.6s

There's somebody from a certain site that has three letters and they happen to be PFN ORG. And I hope said person happens to be listening to this because it was by far not just the most unintelligible but the dumbest thing I've ever heard about Kyrie Jackson PERSON. He's about to be 25 come opening day. Yeah, it happens. That's why he's going to fall into the second round, right? That individual said that he is quote the Brandon Whedon PERSON of cornerbacks. The dumbest thing I've ever heard, stop, just stop. You should probably look into something else for your career, if we're being honest. But no, it's Kyrie Jackson PERSON. You talk about if he's two years younger, three years younger, you're in the Christian Gonzalez type of territory when it comes to potentially a first-round pick. Rake straw, it makes a lot of sense. Personally, I love the idea of adding Kyrie PERSON. Raystraw PERSON is much younger. Yeah.

Speaker 41632.7s - 1633.78s

And he's a dog, man.

Speaker 51633.82s - 1634.58s

Like, I like Raykstra PERSON.

Speaker 41634.68s - 1643.02s

He's aggressive. He's another dude that you can trust and press man on an island, but he just does not, the gifts of Kyrie Jackson PERSON are just so enticing.

Speaker 51643.52s - 1652.5s

James Bradbury PERSON isn't here. I trust Kyrie Jackson and or Keeicing. James Bradbury PERSON isn't here. I trust Kyrie Jackson and or Kiwi Ringo to be my number two right away, right away. And the age,

Speaker 41652.62s - 1657.14s

that helps you know, honestly. That's what I'm saying. Like, he's going to have to come in and play.

Speaker 01657.34s - 1661.4s

Like, that's the thing. He's not going to sit around on the bench. So I mentioned this the other day

Speaker 41661.4s - 1702.48s

actually talking about Kyrie Jackson. And this is a great tweet from Jim Nagy PERSON, the senior bull director. A trusted source told him that Kyrie PERSON was the most talented guy in their defensive back room when he was at Alabama GPE. And that room had Brian Branch, Terry and Arnold, Koolaid McKinstree, Jordan Battle PERSON, Eli Ricks, who we're all familiar with, DeMarco Halams, and then Malachi Moore PERSON. Like, that's a loaded group, and a source from Alabama said Jackson PERSON was the most talentedguy. Again, like, that's why I liked Rick Woll and it's why I liked Keeley Ringo last year. Give me the guy with length that has size, that has that speed. Give me that ball of clay and let me mold it. And this guy is not like you said, 21 where, you know, the age, it's not ideal to have a 25-year-old rookie, but it actually might help for the Eagles ORG who have an immediate need at corner.

Speaker 51702.78s - 1703.42s

That's the thing.

Speaker 41703.52s - 1705.56s

If you're going to draft him, he's going to have to come in.

Speaker 51705.88s - 1708.1s

And Ringo PERSON's super young, so it's not like you don't have

Speaker 41708.1s - 1709.94s

young options. Right. And

Speaker 51709.94s - 1718.02s

you look back at some older guys, like let's say Veles Jones PERSON, for example, who was drafted by Chicago ORG. I think he was just not drafted into a good situation.

Speaker 41718.02s - 1719.98s

He also just wasn't that talented of a player.

Speaker 51720.22s - 1723.94s

Like Jackson has some... Kyrie Jackson PERSON can play ball, man. As you mentioned, if he's

Speaker 41723.94s - 1729.56s

three years younger, he's probably a first round pick over a McKinstry or a Dijin PERSON. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 51729.62s - 1751.28s

You're talking about, look at, just turn on the two games of Washington ORG. Like, that's all you need to do. Like, he's covering those guys. Yeah, he might get burned a couple times. What is number one objective was to cover Roma Duncee PERSON? That's not an easy assignment at all.And you made a great point. Like, you have youth in that room as well. Do I think it's more likely they go outside corner or nickel corner with that

Speaker 41751.28s - 1756.06s

type of selection? Ooh, let me throw a different one at you. Kyrie Jackson or Max Melton PERSON. Max

Speaker 51756.06s - 1763.4s

Melton, easy, far and away. Age, athleticism, versatility. I think I'm with you here too.

Speaker 41763.4s - 1766.68s

Although I want the boundary guy, like Mountain PERSON's the better player.

Speaker 51766.88s - 1793.3s

Dude, he's a crazy athlete. They really need guys who can run at that position. And he's played in the Big Ten. He played at Rutgers ORG, man. He's not going against some G5 level type of wide receivers. Like he would be a guy that this Eagles ORG team has been reported to send a lot ofindividuals to his pro day to talk with him. And that could be a pick with, like you said, 50 and or 53 where it's almost like the

Speaker 31793.3s - 1799.72s

JJ and Miles Sanders draft, unfortunately, where they got their two guys, but one didn't

Speaker 51799.72s - 1823.16s

work out. Hopefully, at least one does work out, but let's hope you get two really good football players. But if it came to corner, I bet Max Moulton PERSON is a favorite of this team. I think they want to get that nickel cornerback position figured out. But at the same time, don't discount them from taking a guy like Ennis Rake Straw because of that upside or Kyrie Jackson PERSON if they have that immediate need.

Speaker 41823.94s - 1835.88s

All right, you know, I got a linebacker one for you. And I'm going to throw three players in here. So we've got Peyton Wilson from NC State ORG, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. from Clemson ORG, who of course is a fan favorite because of his dad, Cedric Gray from UNC ORG.

Speaker 51837.3s - 1841.38s

People just disrespect Cedric Gray PERSON for something.

Speaker 41841.38s - 1841.96s

I was about to say,

Speaker 51842.08s - 1844.02s

Cedric Gray PERSON is not getting talked about enough.

Speaker 41844.1s - 1847.72s

I think he's better than Jeremiah Trotter PERSON. I know he doesn't have the name in

Speaker 51847.72s - 1849.58s

Philly, but Gray PERSON's a better player.

Speaker 41850.5s - 1853.82s

Jeremiah Trotter PERSON is like definitely not the best player

Speaker 51853.82s - 1856.54s

of those three. He's probably number three.

Speaker 41856.74s - 1859.98s

Peyton Wilson PERSON probably has the most talent, but then we can get back into

Speaker 51859.98s - 1863.5s

medical. Get back in the medicals. Yeah. For the Eagles ORG, I want something

Speaker 41863.5s - 1865.32s

safe, man. They're already going risky.

Speaker 31865.92s - 1867.14s

With Dean and Ben White PERSON,

Speaker 51867.24s - 1868.38s

like it's already risky

Speaker 31868.38s - 1868.98s

with injuries,

Speaker 51869.1s - 1869.52s

performance,

Speaker 31869.74s - 1870.62s

but they have upside.

Speaker 01871.08s - 1875.08s

I think Gray PERSON's just going to be a stud from, like just a very reliable player from day one.

Speaker 51876.24s - 1884.96s

If you're taking Peyton Wilson PERSON, in my opinion, you're hoping that one of him or Nacobi Dean PERSON works out.

Speaker 41884.96s - 1888.26s

Law of averages, like he'd gamble on three of them. At least one's going to hit, you'd hope.

Speaker 51888.8s - 1900.64s

We can't not look at what just happened in Dallas with Layton Van der Eschman PERSON. We had heard for years about his neck injury. And look at, he could have played at his level if he's healthy for how long.

Speaker 41901.22s - 1902.74s

And you get to hang it up early.

Speaker 51902.74s - 1915.42s

So safety and or upside, that's what these discussions are. I probably say it's somebody outside of that group, but I would take Tedric Gray in my opinion.

Speaker 41915.94s - 1932.56s

Jeremiah Trotter, I think with Gray, again, does he have the upside of a Peyton Wilson PERSON? Probably not as much. But I don't think he's a player that you can't trust on all three downs. Like I think you can with Jeremiah Trotter. I don't know, man. I just, I don't want't think he's a player that you can't trust on all three downs. I think you can. With Jeremiah Trotter PERSON, I don't know, man.I don't want to say he's a two-down player, but compared to some of these other prospects, he might be.

Speaker 51933.7s - 1937.6s

And Peyton Wilson PERSON has the most upside to, like, be your true green dot,

Speaker 41937.72s - 1945.92s

like lead the way of that defense. Is Cedricer Gray going to be a true number one backer who's... No. Coming in there.

Speaker 51946.08s - 1947.88s

I'm coming from the only guy in the field.

Speaker 41948.14s - 1952.66s

Just give me someone I know that if the other options don't work out,

Speaker 51952.76s - 1953.76s

you got one safe.

Speaker 41953.76s - 1954.26s

I know.

Speaker 51954.44s - 1959.62s

Yeah. And Davian Taylor PERSON is a big one that sits in the back of my mind. That's like, man,

Speaker 41959.62s - 1960.66s

they tried this.

Speaker 31960.76s - 1963.5s

They tried the high upside on somebody.

Speaker 41963.76s - 2004.9s

And it's like maybe you just, you need to take that safe player at linebacker sometimes. For sure. Sometimes you just got to keep it simple. And that's why the Eagles ORG have been really good at drafting over the last few years. Let us know what you think with these prospect first prospect debates. We'll be on Twitter talking about them at Lockdown Birds at GC24 underscore football and at DBLCLO ORG. We thank you so much for making Lockdown Eagles.
