That's always nice to see when, you know, we're used to getting five, maybe six. Tonight we got seven. He gave up five hits. That's where you would say he scattered five hits, two earned runs, but 10 K's. He was, you know, mowing people down when he needed to, just one walk. So all in all, a dominant, dominant performance and kind of a statement series win over the Braves ORG. The Breavours ORG. I can't say the Braves ORG without sayingthe Atlanta ORG brothers the way Chip Carrey PERSON or was it Skip. So it was Harry then Chip PERSON off the old block and then the grandson former Cubs ORG guy is Skip Carrie. But the son of Harrywould always say if you don't remember the bravers. He had that super nasally voice and loved him, loved all of those carries. I don't know where Skip is. I think he's still doing it somewhere, but the uniqueness of good old Chip Carey PERSON was quite fantastic.Yes, Otani a big day. Ahas is red hot, just raking, as Craig PERSON put it. Look at that. Using some baseball lingo. Check you out, Craig PERSON. He's raking.I don't know. I like it. I still think his bad angle is too much concerned about launch angle. But who am I, right? Who am I to say anything about anti-pius? Hey, you keep it up, kid. Whatever you're doing, don't stop. Don't even pretend to practice. Don't even pretend to care about your swing right now. Just continue to be unconscious.The thing I love today probably most about Otani PERSON's performance was that opo doubled down the third baseline. That was sweet because it almost seemed like he got beat on that pitch but was able to still stick his bat out. I mean, I think it even surprised him. Like, oh, look at that. I just hit that ball down the third baseline. Hard. It's a double. Nice. So he's red hot. i think the only thing that we could if we're lookingfor a downside you know i don't know want to call it a complaint but something that wasn't almost perfection and you know part of a dominant fun easy win was uh mokey bets he did get a hit late in the game so he was one for four. His average started to come back a little, right? I mean, the night that Otani, Freeman, Will Smith, Max Munty PERSON had makes Moogie Betts is one for four with a run scored to RBI seem.And because that hit, his hit was a like a, it wasn't an error, but it was kind of a Texas leaguer, got over the second baseman's head, Acuna Jr. I'm sorry, Albies PERSON. And it just plopped in there right behind first base. So it wasn't like he laced one down the line or into the gap or anything. It was kind of an excuse me, uh, single that really, really should have been an out. But hey, as they say, they don't draw pictures in the scorebook. So 360.I thought is, I thought, I feel like he's been, again, I haven't done, I didn't do the game last night. There was no game on Thursday. So I feel like I've missed a couple. You know, my manager, Craig, had to point out that I had clippers the last two Dodger ORG game. So I've missed those. And I apologize for that.But hey, we had to watch those clipper games and watch them unravel and promptly be sent packing by the Dallas Mabbs and Kyrie Irving, who was just on fire last night. Wow. Kentucky Derby today. How about that? That was pretty fantastic.A photo finish, literally winning by a nostril, a horse that I don't think anybody really had to win. So that was always fun. I'm a huge derby fan. I don't really care too much about horse racing in general, but my dad's from Kentucky. And every derby day, the first Saturday in May, I put on the sousucker, making mint julep and pretend to bet. Sometimes I'll log into some, you know, I was bummed that price picks didn't have any action on the derby. Nothing. I was like, come on, you got to have something. They didn't have anything. So I just faked it. I pretended. All right, I'm going to bet five on this horse and this horse and box them. See what happens. Nothing happened. My horse, uh, forever young, as part of my exact box came in third. So, uh, you know, something, right? It wouldn't have won me any money, but it feels good that at least one of the horses you liked was right there. Uh, Pahas is hitting 3.38. Is that right?Holy cow, he is. Yeah, dude's red hot, man. And playing defense too. Nice play there late in the game up against the wall to make that catch. I think that was the eighth. So, yeah, he's doing a little bit of everything.The turning point of this game, of course, that big fourth inning where they scored four and really just pulled away. They were up 2-0 after 2 on Monty's first home run and then 3-0 after 3 on Otani PERSON's home run. So, you know, good start. And as I've always said, I love it when the starter comes out and gets the first three, the first half of the first inning in order. And that's what Glassnow PERSON did. He had three perfect innings. So he tripled what I look for and what I hope for, which is nice. And again,that guy is just mowing people down. In the fifth inning, they threw a stat at us on the fastballs, fastballs. And they make this whole big deal that nobody's throwing fastballs anymore. I'm just going to take their word for it. I mean, I know that we talk about spin rate and cutters and sweepers and curveballs and changeups and all that other stuff. So I'm going to take their word because they have real stats that tell us that peoplein baseball, pitchers in baseball, just aren't throwing the four seamer as much. But Tyler Glass PERSON now has continued to do so. In the fifth inning, the Braves were over 10 against his fastball. And one for 24 in the last, you know, whatever, three or four games that he's pitched, struck out the side in the fifth inning. And he's just, you know, dominating right now.I mean, his sixth win, that's leading the league. And he really, I mean, it wasn't quite that perfect. He did give up five hits and two runs. But, you know, it feels like whenever this guy is on the mound we're good right it's like it gives you a very confident easy feeling i got a confident easy feeling all right let's see who the first person to comment hey pete stop singing.That's what I usually get when I sing on the air. All right, Dodgers on 11-2 win. They've taken two out of three and win this series against the Braves, looking for a sweep tomorrow. And that would be nice, especially against those breamers. Then it was 7-1, and they cruised into the 7th, added a few more on to make it 10-1,and then 1 in the 8th to make it 11-1. That is, it just never felt like the Braves ORG could get off the mat. I mean, this was not a game where you had had any worry at all, whether or not the Dodgers ORG were going to win this game, especially the way Tyler Glassnan PERSON was pitching. When Gus Varland PERSON came in, I was interested to see what he could do.I've heard about him. I thought his cutter and his off-speed stuff was sharp. That was nice. He, you know, ultimately gave up one hit, but got out of the inning with a walk and no harm, no foul there, kept his ERA ride at three. And then J.P. Firehisen PERSON,zeros with a couple of Ks in the ninth to slam the door and get the win for the Dodgers ORG. All right, let's get into a rather complicated and messy Diamond Dogs list here because I had to move Max Muncie from number five to number one because Max Muncie was just spectacular tonight. So number five would be Shohei Otani with his eight home run on the season. It was a solo shot, 392 feet and went to right center, which again is nice because it's not dead pull.And I, you know, it seemed like he was on the ball. And the fact is that if you really, really closely examine and watch his swing, I know I complain a lot about his right side flying out too much. When you really look at it, it's not flying out right immediately. It's kind of after the fact. And maybe it looks worse than it is. Because when he hit that ball to right center, he was on it. Obviously, it was a home run. Again, 392 feet. It made the score three nothing. Itcame on an 0.1 fastball. For number four, Andy Pahas has had a homer. His third, it was a 412 foot bomb, a first ball, fastball, and he just jumped all over it and hammered it. And again, launch angle, you go, you know, do your thing, Andy Pahas PERSON, launch angle it off. 4-1 at that point. For number three, Shohey PERSON hey atani that opposite field down the third baseline rbi double that was a sweet piece of hitting uh reached out as Craig PERSON mentioned he looked very relaxed there he didn't seem like he was pressing or trying to swing the bat toohard he was he didn't shorten up but it almost looked as if he did that's the feeling that you had that he kind of shortened up choked up a little bit tried to just shorten his swing and make contact, put the ball in play. And he did that and I loved it. I was just like, yes, thank you. That's awesome. So 5-1 at that point.Freddie Freeman, number two on the list with an RBI single. He has a 14 game on base streak. It came on a 2-0 slider. And Will Smith PERSON, some honorable mention there with an RBI first pitch, fastball hitting, hitting 7-1 at that point. So Will Smith got in on the action. And number one tonight, Max Muncie, his first ever three home runnight. The first one was a 412 foot towering shot to center field. It was his sixth of the season. It came on a curveball. And of course, it made it two nothing. Then in the seventh, was it the seventh? No, I was sorry, it was number seventh, second of the night.It was a four seam fastball. Came on a three one count. Not quite the bomb that the first one was, 404 feet. It made it 8-2. And then his eighth game in the eighth inning, home run three on the night. It went opposite field.It was a 1-2 change and just barely squeaked out as if it had some back spin on. It hit the top of the scoreboard there in left center on a change-up. It went 371 feet. So a nice night for Max Muncie with three home runs. And then playing defense too. That short hop,backhand third base down the line and then fired it across the infield to Freddie at first base. He's playing some really good third base. And if you want to criticize him, go right ahead because he's not a traditional third basement.But I feel like he fits better over there. He's, you know, he's played second. He can play first. Very versatile dude. He can do it all. But playing at third base, he just looks good.And I'm not seeing any problem with that. 16 hits. Yes, indeed, BC. They're hitting 329 in this series. Wow. That's just so dominant. I mean, it's laughable how good it is. And it is fun. I'm enjoying this, having a good time with the way the Dodgers ORG are playing right now. It's funny you look up and down the lineup. Let's go top to bottomreal quick here. Mookie bets again, two RBI, one for 40. I batting 360 is on basis, 464, slugging 590. Otani, three hits on the day. We'll break that down here in a little bit. Two runs, two RBI. He's batting 345.It almost feels like if you're Max Muncie, you had an awesome night, he's betting 262. It's like, what are you doing? What's wrong with you? 262. It's, it feels like Freddie Freeman, again, he's on fire too, on base 14 games in a row, three hits tonight, batting 300. It feels like he's still in a slump. He's not. I feel like he's come out of it. Because he hit the ball the other way tonight very well. I had one RBI, 415 on base percentage, and 438.I mean, these numbers are redick. They are out of control. Yeah, I just said redick. I can't believe nobody has criticized my little singing there. Not one person. Not even Craig.Nando or BC ORG. I'm surprised. So maybe it wasn't that bad. All right. When I'm not doing the podcast in my little studio here, I will quite frequently dial up some karaoke and, you know, bust out one of my guitars right here and play somekaraoke on my computer right here. So this is where I do my singing. No one can hear me. I don't mind going to a bar and doing karaoke, but that also requires a few pops, right? You got to get loosened up, get your vocal mechanism, loosen up, get some gravel in there. So maybe I'm, you know, I'm comfortable here singing.So maybe it wasn't quite all that bad. What makes pahas makes zero sense? What it makes zero sense about pahas Craig elaborate I know you're probably not talking to me this is one of the new things Craig PERSON by the way is the one that turned me on to the chat thing like I need to get in the comments and the chat and be a part of it and you know participate and all that and Iappreciate that but there are times when you guys are talking to each other and I think you're talking to me and I don't know what I don't know what is that me what is that me yeah alman dilly one that didn't have a hit tonight I don't know yeah he got on base twice What is that me? Yeah. Almond Dillian didn't have a hit tonight. I don't know. Yeah, he got on base twice. But he's,and then the one ball he made contact with is a weak grounder to second base. I don't know what's going on with him. He did not have, that was not a good, you know, the ball he made contact with did not look good. He did not hit it hard. It was a weak roll overto the right side. So at least Doc PERSON's giving him an opportunity to keep it going. Gavin Luxe even had a hit. He was the only one. Outman PERSON was the only one. Didn't have a hit. He scored a run. I got on twice.His on-base percentage 268. Wow. Because that's the way he's been getting on lately is walking. That's crazy. That's how hot the top of the lineup is. Mookie Betts, showy Otani, Freddie Freeman PERSON,Will Smith and Max Muncie all have way bigger on-base percentages than James Outman PERSON. By like over a hundred points. I really hope he gets going. You know, I do. I feel bad that he's working hard. You know, he's one of these guys that they say,they told a story during one of the broadcasts early in this season. It might have even been right at the very beginning of the season in Korea GPE, that Outman PERSON practices something called stoicism. And I say, okay, good for you. Congratulations. That's hard to do.What they describe stoicism as, it's basically staying as level as possible, meaning you don't get too high when you're rolling and you don't get too low when you're struggling. And I get that. I mean,we've all tried that, you know, at our jobs. You know, if you work in some sort of line of work that involves numbers, ratings, if you're in sales, you know, that kind of a thing. Obviously here, you know, it's similar to radio in that we're trying to get people to watch and listen and they track all of that stuff. So, yeah, it feels good.Like last night on the Clippers postcast, we had over 3,000 views. So thank you guys for checking us out last night or checking me out. I appreciate all of that. The Dodger ORG postcast has been growing rapidly and I appreciate you for that. Thank you. And it does feel good.But then when I get one that comes in like 165, I'm like, okay, cool. All right. Final segment here, Locked on Dodgers WORK_OF_ART postcast. We come on after the game, and we break it down for you. 11 to today,the Braves ORG never had a shot in this one. Dodgers ORG came out early and never looked back. They were just cruising throughout. BC feels like James Outman PERSON's playing better recently. He hasn't been playing at all. So I don't know if he played last night because I didn't pay any attention. I was too busy watching the Clippers ORG. But yeah, I don't think he's not hitting the ball. He's a very, very good defender. So, I mean, that's worth something.I think we get sometimes too hung up in offensive numbers and what they do offensively. So it doesn't all have to be based on that. So he brings something in the field and he's getting on base, you know. The only time I complain about people getting on base with walks is guys like Shohei Otani PERSON when we want more, you know, we want production. We don't want you just to get on.We don't need you to just get on base. You're not being paid that kind of money to just get on base. We need more out of you. And to his credit, he is doing it, living up to those expectations, uh, quite sufficiently on a regular basis. Uh, back to Glass now. Again, third, listen to this stat third 10 plus K performance in his last five starts. 10 plus K's in his last five starts three times.Last year, the entire Dodger team only did it four times. So wow. I mean, should we even bring up the Sy Young PERSON conversation yet? I don't know. I think it's probably way, way, way too early because his ERA is not anywhere close to a guy that could win the Sanyang ORG.You know, he needs to drop another, you know, he's got to be in a two-two range, I think, at the end of the season to win the Sanyan ORG. And, you know, they always spend a lot of time with how many hits he's given up. And what's the third thing they pay attention to? I always forget. But, oh, wins. But they don't, you know, a lot of people discount wins.They don't think it's something that should be factored in too heavily when you talk about Cy Young Award WORK_OF_ART. So he's six and one, two point seven ERA right now. So fantastic, dominating. Love it when he's on the mount. I do not have a worry.I'm like, yes, throw that fastball. People don't like to hit it. You know, he's humping it up at like 97. And I still feel like his breaking stuff is really good. You know, that cutter, the curveball. And he's just got people completely off balance.So that's super awesome to see. It feels good for sure. Tomorrow, though, it's going to be a little bit of a, as BC ORG put it, a little bit of a mismatch. Paxton versus Freed PERSON. Yeah, Freed PERSON is,Freed PERSON's rolling right now. And I don't remember what they, they threw out a stat about six scoreless innings, I think, last time out or maybe six perfect innings or something. Yeah, he was dominant last time out. And, you know, it feels like the Dodgers ORG kind of let up a little bit when they've wonthe series. And it's the, you know, the third game. It's not a getaway day because the, uh, the lowly marlins are coming in, the nine win Marlins ORG. So I feel like Sundays, after you've won the series, maybe the intensity is just a tick down.So we'll see how it goes. Paxton PERSON has been kind of that Ben Don't Break guy the last few times out. It hasn't been terrible. It's getting the wins. Still undefeated is the best of my knowledge. So you can't complain or criticize him too much.And he seems to know what to do just enough to get himself out of problems. And, yeah, he's 3.0, 3.5 ERA. His whip is 1.6. 25 innings pitch. He's giving up 21 hits and 22 walks. That's his problem.That's what he needs to curtail tomorrow and just slow down on. We need more Ks than walks tomorrow. Last time out, I think it was four Ks and five walks. Again, 21 hits over 25 innings and 22 walks. Fortunately, he's not giving up a lot of home runs. And again, he's keeping the ERA down and he's winning.So that's all we ask for. Glass PERSON now continuing to dominate atop the rotation. And Walker Bueller, I think, is coming back Monday, right? That's going to be cool. Very exciting to see that. So everything's rolling for the Dodgers ORG.It is all good. Really, I think where we hoped they'd be at this point in time, their home record is not quite as dominant as it has been. But that first homestand where they went seven and nine or dropped seven of nine, that was tough, had me kind of ticked off. But then they went on the road, got things rolling. And now we're here at 22 and 13, 11 and 8 at home. The Braves now 20 and 11 and 9 and 7 on the road after the Dodgers post an 11 to win.Again, Tyler Glass PERSON now gets the victory. He is 6 in 1. And who suffered the loss? They knocked him out early in the fourth inning. That was nice to see as well. That felt really good.Who was that guy? Elder PERSON. Elder went three and a third. He's now one in one with a 5.28 ERA. So Dodgers ORG rolling, good to see.
