Later tonight, we're trying to come up with some content for the rest of the week. And they never fail to help us out.

Speaker 090.72s - 106.46s

The Cowboys are meeting with Zay Jones PERSON, free agent wind receiver who played with the Bills, the Raiders, and then the Jags last year. That news comes from Jordan Shultz PERSON. Just right off the top, Lane PERSON, we're going to dive into this. But right off the top, what were going to dive into this, but right off the top, what were your thoughts when you heard this news?

Speaker 2107.3s - 110.12s

One of our esteemed listeners

Speaker 1110.12s - 111.54s

practically predicted this,

Speaker 2111.58s - 151.28s

if I'm not mistaken that. One of our questions was about whether Zay Jones PERSON would be a good fit. I think that, you know, when I saw that he became available, I wondered if the Cowboys ORG would at least kick the tires there, right?Because I do think that if you're looking for a similar situation to what you had with Gallup last season, right, where you're, you're trying to promote Tolbert PERSON to kind of take that, take the role of wide receiver three, right? And then kind of just grab that, that situation by the horns. But you also would like to have a supplement, right? Just in case that he can't reach that.

Speaker 1151.28s - 152.2s

Fallback option, right?

Speaker 0152.2s - 207.66s

Yes, a fallback option. Or at the very least, something that if he can't do it by himself, that maybe you could cobble together the wide receiver three between him and a veteran, right? And I think Zay Jones PERSON kind of fits that very well. And I think he fits the Michael Gallup role of it very well as well, because you look at Zay Jones PERSON and he is an ex-receiver, right? He's a guy that can line up, isolate on the other side, can win against press. You know, is he elite? Is he a pro bowler? Is he, you know, a wide receiver three on everyone's depth chart? Absolutely not.But he is a serviceable veteran wide receiver who could come in and run routes for you, who knows how to, you know, get open against NFL ORG corners and can, you know, produce at a reasonable level. I don't know that I'm trying to feature him in any part of the passing attack or anything like that. And honestly, I think that, you know, we've already seen on Twitter a little bit,

Speaker 2207.7s - 253.04s

people suggesting that he's coming for Jalen Tolbert's spot at wide receiver three. I would tap the brakes on it, man. I mean, I think that the Cowboys really like Jalen Tolbert PERSON a lot. And I think that this is more of a situation where they're trying to, you know, supplement the position to kind of cover themselves, almost like insurance, right? I think he fits in the sense that they are looking, they were looking for another of those ex-receiver body types. And I think he fits that perfectly. But as far as a guy that's like, you know, going to come in and shake the whole room up or change the shape of the offense, I think this is more of a guy that can come in and give you some good snaps during a game as opposed to a real, you know, fundamental shift on how the ball's being redistributed in the offense.

Speaker 1253.54s - 308.76s

Yeah, I saw a couple of our esteemed beat writers out there saying that he would come in and challenge not only, not challenge, sorry, that he would come in to replace Jill and Tolbert PERSON as the wide receiver three and would challenge Brandon Cooks for the wide receiver two. No, like listen, as somebody who, not bragging here, but as somebody who has got to follow Zay Jones very closely and watch him a lot over the last four years. Yeah. That's not what he is.What he can do is he's got good size. He's got good speed. And he can play all three positions. When he was with the Raiders ORG, played a little bit in the slot, they would run a lot of slot fades with him. With the Jags ORG, he played more on the outside. You're getting a guy that can play all three receiver spots that's cheap and that provides you a little bit of athleticism. Here's the Knox PERSON. Over the last three years, his yards after catch per reception,

Speaker 0309.5s - 335.08s

89th out of 97 of qualifying receiver, 3.1. Contested catch percentage, 85th out of 97 receivers. Like, you're getting a guy that doesn't make contested catches very frequently, unless you're playing against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. You're going up against Anthony Brown PERSON. Or, and then a guy that doesn't really make plays out to the catch. So he can separate a little bit because he is such a good athlete, but he's not, especially

Speaker 1335.08s - 364.06s

going into his age 29 season, he's not really a dynamic weapon. Having said all of that, Landon, I feel so much better if he is your wide receiver four than Joe Brooks. Happy birthday of Jalen Brooks PERSON, by the way. By the way, happy birthday, Jaylon PERSON. And to replace you with Zay Jones PERSON. I think he's a significantly better player. But the issue, it's a numbers thing because, okay, let's say he is the wide receiver for. Zay Jones PERSON has almost no special teams experience.

Speaker 0364.22s - 369.8s

He had one season where he played 100 special team snaps with the Raiders ORG, and then basically nothing else since then.

Speaker 1370.34s - 373.34s

Can you afford to have your wider C, 4, not play special teams?

Speaker 2374.22s - 397.08s

Well, I think, honestly, we may need to kind of reevaluate some of the special team stuff because I think a lot of the angles have changed here because of the kickoff return and the body types that you're going to want to play some of these special teams may have changed. So, you know, you may not be relying on your wide receiver for as much to play special teams. But it, I mean, it's still a good question.

Speaker 1397.38s - 399.66s

But can you keep six wide receivers though?

Speaker 2399.68s - 405.04s

Because if you're going to have, let's say, Jalen Brooks's wide receiver five and Kavante Turpin PERSON as your returner,

Speaker 0409.82s - 409.88s

six receivers on top of likely four tight ends and then maybe a deeper running back room,

Speaker 1411.7s - 412.06s

like the numbers start to add up pretty quickly here.

Speaker 2413.72s - 430.86s

Yeah, I mean, that is a good question. And I do think that you wonder if, you know, again, the way that the practice, how the practice squad is going to get leveraged in all this, right? And how much of these kind of, how many of these veterans are going to end up on these practice squad? And honestly, like this, you know, with this new kind of format, I wouldn't be shocked

Speaker 1430.86s - 434.98s

if Zay Jones PERSON was one of these guys that eventually, you know, yeah, got worked on to this.

Speaker 0434.98s - 450.92s

So I do think your point is valid that if you're not going to have special teams guys, and I think that's probably why Jalen Brooks PERSON would have to if he wants to make the team be, you know, a six tool special teams guy,. He's got to play every single one. So I do think that the

Speaker 2450.92s - 460.58s

Cowboys are able to fit Gallup onto the roster last year. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to do this. But that's only if Zay Jones PERSON is worthy of a roster spot. We should also mention that

Speaker 1460.58s - 501.62s

Jalen Tolbert does have some special teams experience. He's played quite a bit there over the last two years. But back to the original point. Like, I think this would be a good signing if the Cowboys ORG brought him in because I do think it would upgrade the wide receiver four position pretty significantly. But I also don't think they're bringing him into replace Jail and Tolbert PERSON.I think after how, after the step that he took in year two, I think the Cowboys really want him to grab that wide receiver three spot. And they're going to give him every opportunity. This just gives him a good baseline in case something else were to happen in your wide receiver room. You have a functional NFL ORG receiver on the depth chart that you can plug in if you need it. Yeah.

Speaker 2501.74s - 504.7s

I mean, if anything, this may be Jalen Brooks PERSON insurance, you know,

Speaker 1504.74s - 530.98s

just because like if Brooks PERSON can't take the next step that you wanted to see him take, which would be to be kind of a reliable rotational wide receiver, a guy who can play all the special teams for you, if Brooks PERSON doesn't take the next receiving step where you can rely on him if you need him, if, if Cooks PERSON gets hurt for a game and you're going to have to see an uptick of Brooks PERSON in the game, is that going to be a detriment to your team? Is he going to be able to function? And if not, how do you fix that?

Speaker 2531.74s - 533.76s

Zay Jones PERSON may be a way to fix that, right?

Speaker 0533.82s - 557.64s

Because he can play all three spots. He's reliable in that sense. May not be a playmaker, but at least he can run the offense the way you need him to. And you can keep going. So, yeah, I do think it, it doesn't, it doesn't necessarily mark disaster. That's why this isn't really an ironic birthday greeting for Jalen Brooks PERSON.I don't think his days are numbered or anything.

Speaker 1557.64s - 558.54s

No, I don't necessarily.

Speaker 0558.9s - 584.78s

But I do think that what it will do is provide a veteran presence in the, in the, in the, in the offense of a wide receiver room that, that, you know, you already have with, with, with, with, with, with, and cooks. But another guy who can kind of take those, you know, down roster guys underneath his wings, and just give another set of, of veteran kind of perspective on how the league is and how to succeed as a wide receiver in the league. All right.

Speaker 1584.78s - 698.74s

Let's get to our next question about Deuce Vaughn PERSON. And if we have any hope that he can be a factor this year, we will get to that next. This episode is brought to you by Fandul ORG. Landon, this next question comes from Hunter PERSON. He wants to know. I would love to hear y'all's thoughts on Deuce PERSON, and if you think he can carve out a role on offense,he's always been a massive Deuce Fawn PERSON fan, still believes that he can work out in the NFL ORG.

Speaker 2699.56s - 705.6s

I just want to point out that I read a really interesting article about Deuce Fon on s.com by a certain

Speaker 1705.6s - 712.32s

dustin mozier PERSON who uh had a lot to say no idea i'm sure uh so got you guys get check that out

Speaker 0712.32s - 720.24s

yeah um i you know it's interesting i i watched a little bit of the um was it the jacks

Speaker 2720.24s - 724.8s

i don't know i can't remember i think it's a jacksonville GPE preseason game right in which was it

Speaker 1724.8s - 727.06s

seattle was it seattle okay i'm sorry um and I can't remember. I think it's a Jacksonville preseason game, right? In which... Was it Seattle GPE? Was it Seattle GPE?

Speaker 2727.24s - 727.4s

Okay.

Speaker 1727.56s - 739.1s

I'm sorry. And, you know, just to kind of re-associate myself with what, like, successful Deuce Vaughn against Pro ORG looked like, you know?

Speaker 2739.16s - 822.84s

Because I think I'm having a hard time with Deuce Fon this off season. I really don't know what off season. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, his, uh, his, his, his,ity and his athleticism can go from here. Does he get faster? Does he get quicker? Does he get stronger in a pro, uh, weight room? Certainly is possible because of, you know, time and all that. But there is also the idea that that Duce Fawn, you know, is a back stout player at 5,5, you know, and his height. So I, you know, I'm really struggling to kind of, to figure out exactly the floor and the ceiling for Deuce Fawn PERSON at this point. I think that I expected more success out of him when we, when we saw him in the regular season. But I also think that there is some hope in the sense that as the Cowboys ORG kind of revamped this offensive line a little bit, as it seems to be that they are kind of maybe leaning in a little bit more to some man gap and power principles in the run game, that that kind of plays into Deuce PERSON's abilities a little bit.

Speaker 0824.42s - 827.18s

I think that there is hope for Deuce PERSON.

Speaker 2827.86s - 835.1s

I don't know that I would be penciling him in for, you know, the wider running back two or, you know, the alternate guy yet.

Speaker 1835.24s - 843.1s

Hold on. Let me ask you this. If I had to make you do a 53-man roster prediction right now, is he on it? I really don't know.

Speaker 2843.24s - 850.24s

Like, honestly, like, I, he is probably the player on the Cowboys ORG that I struggle with

Speaker 1850.24s - 857.24s

the most because there is part of me that is concerned that he just isn't big enough to do

Speaker 2857.24s - 919.82s

the job in the NFL ORG on a regular basis. There are times when you see him slip out into a screen and he gets the ball in his hands and it's electric and you see that, right? There are times when he gets the ball in the back field on a handoff and he's ducking behind guards and you can tell the ibeckers ORG can't see him and that works right but like i have yet to see deuce vaughan truly break a tackle in a regular season and that's i can see like and that's the issue is that if he goes downon every first touch that he gets, that he gets in an NFL ORG regular season game, man, like, you have to be able to break tackles in the NFL ORG to be an effective player. And especially for Deuce PERSON, because Deuce is likethe sales point, the job that he's trying to kind of get is the juice running back, right? Like the guy that's like the guy who's going to break off the long run, he's going to be able to break tackles. And maybe he doesn't need to break tackles by running through arm tackles or, you know, running through guys. But you've got to be able to at least get away from tacklers.

Speaker 1920.38s - 931.32s

And well, and that's my fear is like even coming out of Kansas State ORG, it's like he has to be that juice running back. But he ran a four, five, six with a one five, nine, ten yards split.

Speaker 0931.32s - 934.2s

That's below average for all NFL ORG running backs.

Speaker 1934.34s - 955.22s

And I, again, running back testing, I care about less than any other position. Like if you play fast, it's not that big of a deal. But when you're that small and you run that time, I, I am a little concerned. Now, if we do the glass half full, you know, thing for Deuce Fon, it's, okay, you're two into

Speaker 0955.22s - 956.22s

the system. Yeah.

Speaker 2956.22s - 958.22s

And you look at the other running backs on the team.

Speaker 1958.4s - 985s

It's Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdell, Royce Freeman, and Malik Davis PERSON, like, all those guys are like 220-ish-pound running backs, right? He's the only guy that's like under 210 pounds and he's under it by like 50 pounds, right? Like he's the only running back on the roster that has his skill set. So maybe and maybe this is, again, we want to be very optimistic.

Speaker 0985.56s - 994.24s

Maybe one of the reasons why the Cowboys ORG didn't go out and get a running back is because they feel really good about the combination of big running backplus deuce fought.

Speaker 1994.64s - 1002.34s

But on the flip side, if you're being a little bit more pessimistic, he had eight total snaps after week five last year.

Speaker 01002.94s - 1003.1s

I mean,

Speaker 11003.14s - 1012.64s

they essentially benched him. He was a healthy scratch for most of those weeks. Like, I mean, they essentially benched him. He was a healthy scratch for most of those weeks. Like, they were so discouraged that they didn't even play him at all. So I,

Speaker 21012.78s - 1014.48s

I have no idea what to expect.

Speaker 11014.92s - 1015.44s

And what they,

Speaker 21015.44s - 1016.06s

what did they,

Speaker 11016.22s - 1016.44s

like,

Speaker 21017.34s - 1028.34s

what was the off season plan to get him from being benched to being a main part of the running back room? Like, what was he supposed to be fast? Was he supposed to be getting faster this off season? Is that possible?

Speaker 11028.34s - 1035.32s

Unless he added bulk? I mean, I don't know. Well, here's the problem is that it's not that he's too slow or that he's too small.

Speaker 21035.7s - 1037.12s

It's both. It's right.

Speaker 01037.12s - 1038.62s

And that and that be one of the.

Speaker 11039.26s - 1039.72s

Yeah.

Speaker 01039.88s - 1044.56s

And that the issue is that he made the margins work in college football,

Speaker 11047.88s - 1052.5s

but the margins are too thin at the NFL ORG. And like if you're not quick enough and you're not big enough to break tackles,

Speaker 01053.2s - 1060.32s

like my fear before we even saw all of it was that exactly what we saw is that it all, you know,

Speaker 21060.32s - 1116.68s

was too much and he can't break tackles. He can't get away from tackles, right? So that and that's what we saw in a lot of ways, right? Is that you saw him get the ball in space and be able to create that way. But, I mean, as soon as a defender closed in on him, the play's over. So, you know, I don't really, that's why I think I'm frustrated or not frustrated, but, like, confused as to, you know, what the plan is, like like how do you develop? Is there ceiling to Deuce Fawn's PERSON game? Because I was kind of generally under the impression, you know, when he came in that he was pretty much who he was, right? And that like he had, part of the reason he was in the NFL ORG is because he absolutely maxed out all the gifts that he had been given. And the kind of sad, depressing part of that story, unfortunately, is what happens when you max out all the gifts that you've been given and it's not enough, right? And that's where I'm afraid we are with here.

Speaker 11116.78s - 1120.3s

Here's a little bit like a sliver of hope.

Speaker 21120.64s - 1123s

I thought he looked awesome in the preseason last year.

Speaker 11123s - 1123.24s

He did.

Speaker 21123.64s - 1130.36s

And again, I know it's the preseason. I'm never going to overre awesome in the preseason last year. He did. Yeah. And again, I know it's the preseason. I'm never going to overreact to the preseason. But then I think early in the season,

Speaker 11130.98s - 1136.38s

things were moving really fast for him. And like you could see him overthinking. So maybe

Speaker 21136.38s - 1143.82s

the hope is in year two. It slows down for him a little bit more. He's never going to be a 15, 16

Speaker 11143.82s - 1161.26s

touch player. But could he be a seven or eight touch player that gives you a little bit of a juice as a receiver? Maybe. I think that's the hope for me now is that he's not going to get bigger. He's not going to get stronger. He's not going to get faster. It's just that he comprehends things a little bit quicker than he did last year.

Speaker 21161.26s - 1166.64s

And it slows down for him where he can be an average passing down back.

Speaker 01167.18s - 1174.08s

Yeah, I don't think my standard for him is like that he needs to be running through arm tackles or breaking tackles.

Speaker 11174.08s - 1181.64s

But I think he needs to be able to counteract the, he can't be tackled by the first tackler every single time it shows up.

Speaker 21181.82s - 1185.2s

So he's got to counteract that with his, like you just mentioned,

Speaker 11187.86s - 1188.02s

his vision and his quickness, you know, now that the,

Speaker 21190.96s - 1191.02s

hopefully the game has slowed down a little bit, you know,

Speaker 01194.4s - 1194.54s

or a combination of that plus more strength plus more speed.

Speaker 21196.16s - 1230.8s

Like, I don't know what the, what the improvement plan is for Deuce Fawn PERSON, but I feel like it's got to be more than just getting a little bit faster, getting a little bit stronger. Like, you know what I'm saying? He's going to have to kind of do a combination of those things as well as some vision in order for him to get to a point where, you know, the Cowboys ORG have clearly elevated. The Cowboys ORG, again, we talked about runways, giving folks runways. You feel likeDeuce Vaughn PERSON, despite all the numbers in the backfield with him, has been given a little bit of a runway because there isn't another kind of juice back in this running back room right now. All right.

Speaker 11230.8s - 1331.76s

Welcome back to the Lotton Cowboys ORG podcast. We are answering your Twitter questions. And this last one comes from Gorin PERSON. He wants to know, how should the Cowboys play Trey Lance and Cooper Rush PERSON in the preseason? What allows them to get the best answer possible on Lance PERSON?

Speaker 21332.82s - 1338.68s

They need to kind of get some exposure on Lance PERSON. I mean, we need to see Trey PERSON play a lot, you know.

Speaker 11338.86s - 1340.12s

I haven't played the entire preseason.

Speaker 21340.42s - 1345.24s

Yeah, I mean, honestly, like, I don't need to see any of Cooper Rush PERSON.

Speaker 11345.76s - 1349.56s

Like, I know who Cubs season in each of the last two years and they've been perfectly fine.

Speaker 21349.94s - 1396.46s

Yeah, and, and we know what Cooper Rush PERSON is. I don't need Cooper to kind of continue to come in here and prove himself to us. So, but I do need to see Trey Lance, you know, I do need to see what exactly you've got in this kid. And I think that it's, you know, they're need to see what exactly you've got in this kid. And I think that it's, you know, there, Trey Lance has got a lot going on around him, right? You know, it's not even just his competition at the backup quarterback. It's his competition long term for the Cowboys ORG starting position.I mean, I know no one wants to talk about that, but that is an element here is that, you know, the Cowboys want to see if they can develop this guy into a starter one day. And if that is the chance, that gives them leverage over DAC ORG down the road. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow.

Speaker 11396.62s - 1400.06s

Well, it's also showcasing him for teams next time.

Speaker 21400.18s - 1405.02s

The Cowboys ORG decided not to sign him to a contract extension. Or for Trey PERSON himself, right? Trey PERSON's, right?

Speaker 11408.02s - 1409.2s

Trey's got to show himself off if he wants to get that next contract. That's what I mean. Like, right.

Speaker 21409.32s - 1443.5s

So like if he wants to show other teams like, hey, remember me when it comes to next free aid cycle. So there's a lot riding on the Cowboys finding success with Trey Lance or Trey Lance, you know, having some success. So I would imagine that we will get a healthy dose of Trey Lance or Trey Lance, you know, having some success. So I would imagine that we will get a healthy dose of Trey Lance. I have, I will imagine that he will get a healthy dose of wider, of running back. Good board. Quarterback to the snaps in the training camp just because.Oh, maybe. Well, yeah, I mean, you. Oh, boy. Let's not even go down. Maybe he'll get a whole bunch of quarterback one to snaps.

Speaker 11443.78s - 1445.8s

There you go. Yeah.

Speaker 21446s - 1521.08s

And honestly, maybe he will. Regardless of whatever ominous thing that you're hinting at, I think that there is still an opportunity for him to get lots of chances to work with the first team, simply because you want to see how he responds to that and how he's taking to the offense. There are many different tracks available to Trey Lance at this point, you know. And for the Cowboys, he's viewed to the offense. There are many different tracks available to Tray Lance PERSON at this point, you know. And for the Cowboys ORG, he's viewed as an asset as a quarterback who could play on the team.So I think you're going to see a ton of Tray Lance PERSON. And if he does well, then I think, you know, that opens up a whole other interesting conversation on if the DAC deal gets done before the season. Because if it doesn't, and Trey Lance does well, then you're going to start to have a very interesting offseason or really an interesting regular seasonand kind of trying to decide how to handle that situation. So I think the first step, though, is getting Tray Lance PERSON opportunities and seeing how he does with them. Yeah. And then kind of making an evaluation from there. But I would say, if you're looking for a spectrum of where Tray Lance PERSON could be, I could seehim being cut before the, I think I'd have a hard time believing that he would be cut before the season.

Speaker 11521.18s - 1526.3s

Boreline PERSON cut. We'll say borderline. I could see him like, yeah, not being part of the picture by the time regular season starts.

Speaker 21526.5s - 1558.46s

I could see him doing so well that it becomes a regular season conversation of, you know, the constant quarterback controversy that Cowboys ORG have whenever they have a decent backup quarterback, right, that is, is Trey, you know, looking over Dax PERSON's shoulder. So I think there's a huge wide range of spectrum, the things that can happen. But it all starts with getting exposure and seeing exactly what we have in Trey Lantz PERSON after investing all this time and resources into him so far.

Speaker 11558.46s - 1571.36s

I want you to guess without looking. How many passes do you think Trey Lance has thrown since 2018? So this is over the last six years. 200?

Speaker 21572.64s - 1573.52s

A little bit more than that.

Speaker 11573.62s - 1575.24s

400. 420, actually.

Speaker 21575.76s - 1581.92s

Oh, that's why you play a lot of games for two to San Francisco ORG. Yeah. Three seasons in college, right?

Speaker 01582.08s - 1588.76s

Three seasons in college. Three with the 49ers ORG and actually Three with the 49ers and, or actually two with the 49ers and this will be his second year with the Cowboys ORG.

Speaker 11589.42s - 1591.52s

He needs to play a lot.

Speaker 01591.8s - 1604.44s

Again, Dak did not play at all in the preseason. He came out firing last year. They scored 40 points in the opener. Like it's, it's pretty clear like the 2021,they didn't, Dak PERSON didn't play in the preseason either. Remember he was rehabbing the shoulder.

Speaker 21604.44s - 1608.96s

It was, you know, rehabbing and he still came out and lights out like yeah it's okay

Speaker 11608.96s - 1614.38s

i don't need that deck playing at all in the preseason i remember last year would will greer

Speaker 21614.38s - 1618.84s

that final game the final preseason game through like 50 passes that's what it needs to be

Speaker 11618.84s - 1644.38s

for trailance in all three preseason games like we need to see him throw a hundred ish passes in the in the preseason just because he needs a rep. And if you want him to play with the first team and then, you know, and then kind of transition into playing with the backups for the rest of the way, I get that as well. He needs a lot of reps.I really, I'll be kind of upset if I see any other quarterback but Tray Lance PERSON get snaps under center this year.

Speaker 21644.8s - 1645.06s

I mean,

Speaker 11645.06s - 1648.02s

in the preseason, in the preseason, let me qualify. Wow.

Speaker 21649.2s - 1664.82s

That's a good little qualifier there. I will say that I think that, yeah, if there were a way to kind of assure Cooper Rush PERSON, hey, buddy, why don't you just go take a seat over there? You're on the team, buddy. We're a fan of yours.

Speaker 11664.82s - 1665.8s

He could be fine with that.

Speaker 21665.9s - 1667.56s

Like, he gets enough reps in practice.

Speaker 11667.66s - 1675.5s

He does not need the preseason reps. And plus, I got to believe after some of the offensive lines they put him behind in the preseason over the last couple of years, you'd be like, oh, great.

Speaker 21675.62s - 1682.78s

I get to make the team and not play behind this crappy offense. Sign me up. Trey PERSON's got the legs to get away from some of that stuff.

Speaker 11683.36s - 1685.8s

Let, let Trey PERSON go run around on the field a little bit.

Speaker 01686.04s - 1689.64s

So, yeah, I mean, it is unfortunate because, you know, you said it.

Speaker 21689.72s - 1706.24s

Trey PERSON definitely just needs all the reps that he can handle, all the reps that he can get. And, you know, like, that's why the talk about the Cowboys drafting another quarterback this year, I was like, are you crazy? We can't even possibly get enough reps for Trey Lanz PERSON. And you're about adding another quarterback in here.

Speaker 01706.24s - 1710.22s

So I think they got to figure out a way to even give, you know,

Speaker 21710.68s - 1721.02s

a rush an opportunity to kind of sit down a little bit and just give Trey PERSON as many of these reps as possible because it's not even just exposure. It's it's learning on the job.

Speaker 01721.16s - 1757.12s

You know, he needs to develop still. And developing in, you know, going through drills and sitting in a film room and talking to your quarterback coach, that's all, that's all great. But there is nothing compared to, even with all the virtual reality stuff they have, there is nothing compared to getting out there and playing with live bullets and seeing how you react under pressure and all of that and getting the reps so it becomes second nature, especially a quarterback. So, yeah, it's going to be one of the interesting storylines is going to be exactly how did the Cowboys get Tray Lance PERSON all the snaps that he's going to require this off season. And I'm excited to see how that plays out.
