David, what did you think of draft day two?

Speaker 2133.68s - 135.82s

Man, I'm so stoked about these picks.

Speaker 3135.94s - 137.28s

I love both of them.

Speaker 2137.58s - 156.72s

These are both guys that we got a chance to cover and watch in the pre-draft process. So grabbing Ladd-McConkie PERSON, a guy who has real true speed and then just a true field general in the middle of that defense with Junior Colson PERSON. You had to know Jim Harbaugh was going to get one of his Michigan ORG men. I know. I have to think that he shed a tear when he

Speaker 3156.72s - 161.12s

had to choose between him and running back Blake Corum PERSON there. I think they made the right decision.

Speaker 2161.12s - 214.24s

David, the charters made a splash early on day two. I wasn't even home from work yet because they had decided to get in on the action early by trading up to the 34th pick with the New England Patriots ORG. All in all, I liked the trade because I don't really think they gave up very much, right? They didn't even give up a full pick. Basically, they moved back from their fourth round pick, which was pick 110 to pick 137 in the fifth round to move up and get the biggest need. And I know a couple of wide receivers didn't go directly after that, but with how quickly they started going at the end of the first round with Xavier Worthy, going to the chiefs, Xavier Leggett, right, Keon Coleman goes first pick of the second round. There was a run and we saw runs, right receivers, defensive tackles. They started going

Speaker 0214.24s - 237.38s

quick. So I don't blame the charges at all for going up and getting their guy and filling truly their biggest need. And I think that Ladd McConkey PERSON, even though it was tough to pass up on some of those receivers on day one, was a really, really great consolation prize. And I think good value, too, a borderline first round pick. Dame Bruehler had him as his 31st best prospect. Daniel J.M. Maya had him as his 30th best prospect.I loved this pick. I did too.

Speaker 2237.38s - 272.08s

And honestly, after this pick was made, I felt so much better about what happened on day one. And I just feel like the whole draft looks a whole lot better now. But getting a lad McConkey PERSON, a guy who has real true speed of a 43940 guy, a guy who's an absolute weapon, a yak threat, a guy who's lightning quick, runs great routes, very strong hands. I mean, this is a pick that made a lot of sense. The Chargers ORG had to addressthe wide receiver position with a premium pick. They go out and grab a fantastic wide receiver

Speaker 3272.08s - 310.66s

in Ladd-McConkie PERSON. And I think the thing for them was just they couldn't risk it, right? Yeah. After passing up on receiver in round one, they couldn't risk somebody leapfrogging them and going and getting their guy, especially with how quickly they were coming off the board. I mean, I think between him and 80 Mitchell PERSON, it's close, but I think the better fit for them was Ladd McConkey PERSON. I think Ladd McConkey, even at his size, plays more of the Jim Harbaugh PERSON type of football that we've seen this team draft in this draft class, right? Joe Hortiz finding Jim Harbaugh type of players. And I think Ladd McConkey PERSON definitely fitsthat. And it's funny because he said he has the 4- four three nine speed, which is like how many years have we been begging for

Speaker 2310.66s - 315.12s

someone that had that kind of speed? The whole time we've been covering this team professionally,

Speaker 3315.28s - 319.92s

Daniel PERSON. Truly. I mean, like the only guy can think of literally in our time doing this is J.

Speaker 2319.92s - 325.04s

J.1 Guyton. You know, maybe Tyrone Johnson T. Billy, I think might have been in the four threes,

Speaker 3325.04s - 329.66s

but like they're talking about undrafted for agents, right? We haven't seen them actually drafted

Speaker 0329.66s - 345.72s

a dude that had this kind of legitimate juice. And the funny thing is, is like when I was watching Ladd McConkey PERSON, who I do think you have to watch, you cannot look at the stats with this guy. If you look at the stats, you're going to be totally overwhelmed. And it's one of the biggest knocks against him. And one of the only reasons he got out of the first round. Let's be honest, right?

Speaker 3345.76s - 350.92s

Because when you look at him, the speed, at least the long speed, isn't even one of the first things you think of, right?

Speaker 0351.4s - 390.02s

Insane footwork, wins route, great acceleration and deceleration can stop on a dime. There is nobody that can go full speed to a stop better than this guy in this draft class. Him on comeback routes is just basically unstoppable. I also thought he proved himself to me while watching that Alabama GPE game, right? You're watching him go up against Coy McIntry, a second round pick. You're watching him go up against Terriott and Arnold, a first round pick. And not only did he hold his own, he kind of torched those guys for stretches of that game. And that to me was one of those things where I'm like, okay, I'm watching him go up against some of the best of the best in college football. And he's succeeding in exceeding my expectations. There's a lot to like about what this guy brings to the table.

Speaker 2390.98s - 408.08s

Yeah, I mean, that's where the true barometer kind of comes from, right? I mean, you want to look at guys that are getting picked early on in this draft premium competition because there, those are guys you're going to see in the league as well. But also an excellent route run, excuse me, run blocker for his size. I know he's a little bit of a smaller guy,

Speaker 0408.08s - 469.68s

but he shows great technique and tenacity there. Strong hands through contact uses a variety of different releases off the line of scrimmage to, to win, which he has to be a smaller wide receiver. You have to find a way to beat press man coverage. And so he uses that a lot with his releases off. i felt like he did a really good job of sitting down in the open pockets of the defense especially on the outside outside the numbers seem like he was open outside the numbers all day long yeah he really knowshow to defeat angles he took a motion pitch to the left side i remember watching he used uh used a jab step and then created a ton of space and just waltzed right into the end zone for a touchdown. And he's got some real shake and bake. I mean, this, this guy is a legitimate yak threat. And I can't wait to see how many different ways the chargers are going to try to get the ball in his hands because this is a guy who has scored touchdowns through the air and scored touchdowns on the ground. So he has receiving and rushing potential in this offense.

Speaker 3470.28s - 482.66s

Yeah, he has a 70 yard rushing touchdown in his career at Georgia ORG. Just one of the many things he did super well. There are 9.34 RAS score. Something the charges are obviously taking into account and holding in high regard, right?

Speaker 0482.74s - 514.88s

I mean, you have one of the most athletic tackles ever in Joe Walton PERSON. You follow that up with Ladd McConkey PERSON, who is a super athlete. I mean, the outbreaking routes that he has are just insane. It seems like he's impossible to cover on those. I mean, the 98th percentile in his shuttle, 94th percentile in his three cone drill, showing you the agility, showing you some of that shaking, bacon, that yards after catchability, right? And obviously, not only good top end speed, but really, really good burst off the line. I mean, this is a dude who creates separation and can be the receiver for Justin Herbert. Maybe not what Keenan Allen PERSON was because those two had such a good rapport.

Speaker 5515.28s - 516.76s

But when you lose someone like Keenan Allen

Speaker 0516.76s - 524.26s

and you get one of the best separators in college football in Ladd-McConkie PERSON, I really, really love the fit. And I think if you're looking at what the cons are here,

Speaker 3524.92s - 527.1s

to me, I mean, it's just the lack of college production.

Speaker 0527.22s - 552.68s

That's the only thing that really gives me any, you know, real pause. I mean, a smaller catch radius, but does make difficult catches when he has to. Did struggle with physicality when defenders got their hands on him, which wasn't very often. And he's always going to be a more undersized receiver. But like besides that, I mean, I think the one big red flag is just the back and ankle injuries, right? But you have to think the Chargers ORG checked out and felt very comfortable with, especially with their medicals trading up to go get them. Yeah. I mean,

Speaker 2552.72s - 561.86s

that was one of the thing I was going to mention is coming off the back issue. But he talked about that. He talked about that in his press conference. And he said, I'm 100%. The actually halfway through

Speaker 0561.86s - 585.76s

the season when he came back, he felt like he was good then. So he said the back issue is absolutely not a problem he's not worried about it at all shorter arms also smaller body type you know he's a smaller type wide receiver we'll see if he's able to add a little bit of good weight maybe i mean i think there's concerns that maybe his frame may be maxed out according to dame brugler PERSON they said that there are some issues with him holding on or keeping good weight on.

Speaker 2586.06s - 600.24s

Well, we'll see what Ben Herbert is able to do with his new wide receiver. And if he's able to work with him and maybe put on some good muscle and some good weight without sacrificing that lightning quickness that he brings to the table. Yeah.

Speaker 3600.28s - 609.56s

And that's always kind of the thing with guys like this. But I think that was kind of the seeing how gritty and tough he was while watching him, especially for someone that size was pretty enlightening, right?

Speaker 1609.56s - 610s

I love it.

Speaker 0610s - 614.62s

I think if you just looked at the dimensions, you wouldn't be able to kind of tell the grit that this guy plays with

Speaker 3614.62s - 617.16s

and just the total effort that he plays with all the time.

Speaker 0617.64s - 624.7s

And I think, yeah, I mean, he's got that dog in him, right? And the other guy, Jr. Colson PERSON, dog. Like, there is definitely a type they're going after him.

Speaker 2625.16s - 642.74s

Straight up. Reason why they ended up going these guys. And I think the other thing, too, is, dog. Like, there is definitely a type they're going after them. Straight up. Reason why they ended up going these guys. And I think the other thing, too, is just like he had injuries in college. He was never really also the number one option. He was stuck behind really good players, like Brock Bowers PERSON, right? Like George Pickens PERSON. So those are the guys that he was behind in his collegiate career. But when you turn the tape on, this dude is different.

Speaker 3642.9s - 649s

Like I told you before, I saw shades of Antonio Brown PERSON. Like, I know a lot of people want to give like kind of, you know, white slot receiver comparisons.

Speaker 0649.64s - 650.8s

I don't necessarily see that.

Speaker 2650.8s - 667.74s

Yeah. I mean, I think he can win on the outside. I think you can also play in the slot and be super productive there. And I've seen another good comp to Tyler Lockett. I think that's another one that makes a lot of sense for what Ladd McConkey PERSON brings to the table. Plus just his name with two Ds.Like that's pretty damn cool too. This podcast loves names.

Speaker 3667.94s - 669.78s

Yeah, I mean, it's a big name podcast.

Speaker 2669.9s - 689s

Your name's going to hold a lot of way in my draft grades. But the other guy that they got, I thought might be a second round pick for the Chargers ORG. But Jim Harbaugh was able to find his Michigan ORG man in the third round when they were able to get maybe one of the steals of the draft so farwith Junior Colson PERSON, who is a dog. We're talking about him and more on today's Lockdown Chargers ORG podcast.

Speaker 3690.68s - 745.98s

Speaker 3809.72s - 899.6s

All right, David, well, it's time to get into the other pick we really loved from day two. And it was the Chargers sticking at Pick 69 and taking the nicest pick up possible because they ended up getting Junior Colson PERSON. And when I saw him there, the linebacker from Michigan ORG, a.k.a. the linebacker from Michigan ORG, aka the linebacker who won defensive MVP on the best defense in the country last year, aka the guy who won the toughestplayer on the team on a team that's coached by Jim Harbaugh PERSON, right? And I just don't know if a Jim Harbaugh PERSON team has a higher award than the toughest player on the team. So love the pick. They stay at pick 69. Like I said before, I mean, he had Blake Quorum PERSON there. He had Junior Colson PERSON there. I thought they could have went either way. They went with the bigger, obvious need with Junior Colson PERSON. Another guy who brings great value. This is a guy that I saw articles about before the draft saying, hey, these are the players that might sneak in to the first round of the draft. And I think especially with what you saw in the offseason, right?Kenneth Murray getting $18 million over two years. There was a lot of people that were afraid to go into this draft needing linebackers because there was only a few of them that you could make a good argument for could come in and start early and be an impact player at the NFL ORG level. This is one of those guys. It's Dan Bruegler's number one ranked linebacker, the 42nd player on his top 100 players in this draft. Daniel Jeremiah's 43rd ranked player in this draft class. David PERSON, this feels like a steel to me. The charters got themselves a dog and a dude who doesn't seem likehe could be any happier going to play for his former head coach, Jim Harbaugh PERSON. I really liked the

Speaker 2899.6s - 912.38s

second round pick. I absolutely love the third round pick. The fact that Junior Colson PERSON was there, it just seemed like this was manifest destiny, right? It just seemed like you knew that Jim Harbaugh PERSON was

Speaker 0912.38s - 965.4s

going to draft at least one Michigan player. And well, at least one has already been met. And my goodness, how could it be a better player than Junior Colson PERSON? Junior Colson is an animal, an absolute dog. I love watching his tape because I love linebackers. I can run and hit. And guess what? Junior Colson PERSON can do that better than anybody in this class.6 foot 3, 247 pounds here, 196 tackles through two seasons, eight and a half tackles for loss. This is a tackling machine. Strong tackler with good big wingspan, really good technique. He's a wrap-up tackler, and he has some brute force stopping power. When he hits you, you go to the ground, Daniel PERSON. You are not getting up. He is a guy that has some athleticism to cover your running backs and your

Speaker 2965.4s - 981.46s

tight ends in the flat. You feel very comfortable with his ability to do that. He scrapes down the line of scrimmage extremely well. I mean, there's just a lot to like with with the junior Colson PERSON, a very smart player, a very tough player, a very physical player. And who would Jesse

Speaker 3981.46s - 986.88s

Minter want else than Junior Colson to come in and bring his defense to the NFL ORG?

Speaker 0987.5s - 992.74s

And I think that's a big part of it, right? Because it's hard to transition to the NFL ORG as linebackers.

Speaker 3992.74s - 1010.14s

We've seen plenty of first round linebackers that have flamed out quickly or just at least took a little while before they ended up becoming what they ended up being. I mean, even a guy like Roquan Smith PERSON struggled early on. But when I think of this big, I think about Roquan Smith because of what changed for the Baltimore Ravens ORG defense midway

Speaker 01010.14s - 1057.1s

through the 2022 season. They traded for Roequant Smith. And that was such a big part of Mike McDonald PERSON, whose defense Jesse Minter took over at Michigan ORG was able to take that defense from a good defense to one of the best, if not the best defenses in the league. Linebackers are important in this defense, and you're getting a dude who is a true three-down linebacker that doesn't really have any huge weak spots in his game. So when I think of the guy who was calling plays for Jesse Minter's PERSON defense, coming in and getting to play in that same defense, I mean, I think he's probably a day one starter for this team. I think that the future of him and Dayon Henley PERSON is exciting. I think you have someone in Denzel Perriman PERSON that can help you bridge the gap for these guys, you know, for these younger players to season and get the experience that they need. And I also love seeing Navarro Bowman PERSON, who I loved as a coaching hire, their new linebackers coach, former really, really good

Speaker 21057.1s - 1065.12s

linebacker in the NFL ORG. Say, I stood on the table for you. This is a guy he had to have. And this is a guy also, David PERSON, even though he doesn't

Speaker 31065.12s - 1092.58s

have the production in the past coverage game, he never isn't covering someone. He's always looking for someone to cover. There's nothing worse than a linebacker who just covers space and isn't covering someone in. Kenneth Murray PERSON. I mean, it's, it's a plague across every, you know, tons of teams. This guy looks like Fred Warner PERSON when he's out there trying to find people to go block. And the other thing is he takes away the first read really, really often.

Speaker 51093s - 1100.12s

And there's, even though you don't see the production as far as the stats go, he's a guy that's getting and passing lanes. He's affecting things in the passing game.

Speaker 01100.54s - 1132.74s

And his main strength is run, stopping the run, being able to shoot gaps, being able to read the plays in front of him, good instincts. It's just he has so much to like. And I love the way he sheds blocks and can still make plays on the ball, has a lateral ability to cover a ton of ground. Very sure tackler, one of the lowest mistackle rates in the college football last year, David PERSON, and like, how long have we been looking for guys who can tackle and not miss a ton of tackles? So I think there are a couple cons to his game, but like, there's not a lot. This is a pretty well-rounded player that I think is going to fit very

Speaker 21132.74s - 1176.06s

nicely in Jesse Mentor's defense. I completely agree, Daniel PERSON. I mean, when we're talking about the weaknesses, even when we're looking at weaknesses from other places, it's like, I don't know if I actually agree with that. Like one of the weaknesses, according to Dan Bruegler that you brought up was that he has issues shedding tackles or shedding blocks, which I didn't notice that at all. I thought he does a phenomenal job of being able to get off blocks and make tackles. He doesn't get caught in the mud very often. I saw one play where a running back caught a ball over the middle and was able to put his foot in the ground and run away from junior colson that was one example of that happening you just don't see it very often according to dame brugler PERSON weaknesses needs to improve patients working downhill uh i don't know

Speaker 31176.06s - 1180.04s

about that i mean i think that is one of those things we've talked about many times right it's

Speaker 21180.04s - 1191.2s

better to have to rein somebody in a little bit than to need it from them to begin with and i do think when you're someone that reads the play in front of you as well as Junior Colson and you have such a quick trigger to get downhill, it can lead you to the wrong gap.

Speaker 01191.24s - 1207.58s

It can get you out of position at time. So I don't totally disagree with that. But at the same time, like I've said before, I'd rather have it that way than to have somebody who, you know, like a Kenneth Murray PERSON in the past doesn't know what they're reading in front of them and doesn't want to be quick to trigger and hesitates a little bit before he gets in on the action.

Speaker 21207.88s - 1231.32s

I agree. I think the only main thing here is below average ball production. I mean, that's true. He didn't, didn't have, you know, had five passes of defense and zero interceptions and over a thousand career coverage staff. So hopefully at the next level, you know, you can get his hands on a couple of footballs and and turn some of those, you know, some of those plays where he does have very good coverage into a, you know, football back to Justin Herbert.

Speaker 01231.52s - 1240.16s

That's, that's hopefully what you wanted to the next level. But for a linebacker that's coming into the league, Daniel PERSON, to have this short of a list of weaknesses

Speaker 21240.16s - 1246.64s

and just this perfect of a fit, I mean, how could you not be super stoked about the pick of

Speaker 31246.64s - 1281.68s

Junior Colson for the Chargers? Yeah, the pick actually made Jim Harbaugh PERSON break into the Michigan fight song in the war room. I don't know how many times you're seeing head coaches break into song in the war room as that, you know, they're getting ready to finish the rest of day two of the draft. But that's what he was doing. I mean, the other cons offseason foot surgery in 2023 had a right hamstring injury that stopped him from doing the combine and things like that. rest of day two of the draft, but that's what he was doing. I mean, the other cons, offseason foot surgery in 2020, had a right hamstring injury that stopped him from doing the combine and things like that.Legitimate concerns, but I think obviously you're getting a good player in round three that should have never been there. So I think you love what you're getting in Junior Colson PERSON. You love the fit from Junior Colson PERSON. And I raise you when you talk about injury concerns.

Speaker 21282.24s - 1325.16s

The fact that the man played with double clubs on his hands in 2023. He could have sat out. That's a tough, tough dude. Physically move. I'm going to be out there. That's a Jim Harbaugh PERSON type of player. That's a dog. And that's one of the guys that helps you transition from the finesse teams that we've seen in the past under Tom Tolesco into the tough, hard nose players that we're seeing under this new hard bar regime. And I love what I've seen so far. Preach. And as it's been happening, I like this draft more and more with every pick, especially after coming around more on Joe All PERSON. If you watch yesterday's show, like Brian Rick PERSON said, it's not doom and gloom. You know, there's a lot to like. But now I'm really liking it, how it's coming together through two days. We're going to talk about how this draft class is coming together and the best playerstill available on today's Lockdown Chargers ORG podcast.

Speaker 31326.24s - 1377.76s

Guys, though, I do need you all to listen up for this huge announcement because I've been tracking the leaderboards every day, keeping my eyes on the scores, putting all of my heart into it and I'm super pumped to announce that I'm finally on top. That's right. Obviously, I'm talking about the hit mobile game Monopoly Go PRODUCT. You've probably heard of it. It's been downloaded over 150 million times. It's a great mobile twist on classic Monopoly PRODUCT.You can play anywhere, anytime. Speaker 11409.38s - 1409.46s

All right, David, well, now we have seen what the Chargers' first three picks are.

Speaker 51410.28s - 1410.46s

They have three rounds.

Speaker 11411.36s - 1411.58s

They have three picks.

Speaker 51415.3s - 1419.98s

And like we talked about before, it was really tough passing up on the receivers from round one, but hard to be mad at the guy that the Chargers got in Joe All PERSON, who is such a good

Speaker 11419.98s - 1423.52s

prospect, and one of the better tackle prospects that's come out over the last few seasons.

Speaker 31424.2s - 1436.8s

But now you're kind of seeing, I think, why that happened, right? Because you see kind of how it plays out. There wasn't a ton of offensive tackle talent that was left at the start of round two. It went in round one. A ton of guys went in round one.

Speaker 01437.74s - 1441.4s

So I think it's one of those things I've seen people saying, okay, would you rather have, you know, Malik

Speaker 31441.4s - 1483.14s

neighbors and some random tackle that you probably are reaching for in round two or you get a great tackle with a lad McConkey PERSON, you know, and you just kind of see the chargers and their feel for the board and why they're doing the things that they're doing. But I think when you look at this, David PERSON, as far as getting value and filling needs, I think that Joe Hortiz has done a masterful job in his first draft class because it's like Joe Alt, even if you didn't love the pick, it's not a reach to take the best tackle in the class with the fifth overall pick and Dame Bruegler's fifth best prospect with the fifth overall pick. It's just not, right? Getting aborderline first round pick at 34 with Lab McConkey's good. And then getting a bona fide second round pick and junior Colson is also great. Three big needs, three value picks you could argue, David PERSON. I'm liking

Speaker 21483.14s - 1511.48s

how this is coming together. Yeah, I mean, I think the Chargers drafted three players that are going to help them immediately. I mean, you get a giant pass protector, a lightning quick wire receiver and a smart, tough and physical linebacker that's probably going to challenge for starting snaps right away. You get three players that you draft that are going to make an impact not only on the 2024 season, but for the Harbaugh teams in the future. Yeah, I agreed. And you're getting, you know,

Speaker 31511.56s - 1581.98s

three guys that fit the bill as far as what this team has told us that they wanted and what this team is looking for in their players. Three guys who you can tell football means everything to them, right? They live, eat, breathe football. And everyone can say that right, but I think you really kind of feel it when you're hearing these guys talk. But I also think, David PERSON, as these picks and even liking these picks, it shows you, you know, why there was such an emphasis on potentially trading back, right?Because I love those three picks. But if you don't have alarm bells going off a little bit of having not filled two of your biggest positional needs left at defensive tackle and cornerback. I don't know what you're watching. You know what I mean? And I think that was always going to be the case because the Chargers ORG just went intothis draft with way more needs than they could possibly fill. Right. So I think if you're looking at the two biggest needs yet and kind of the two things that have to be a priority on day three, it's defensive tackle and it's quarterback. And it's not in that order, right? Corner is a huge red flag right now. Both positions are. But ESPN only has two defensive tackles in their top 50 best available still, right? There's a couple of corners there that we'll talk about that are falling further than expected. But it's like, hey, it's kind of the danger zone with these picks where it's like you've got to feel some of these positions quickly.

Speaker 21582.66s - 1590.32s

Yeah, especially Corner. I mean, that's one of the things we wanted to see addressed in the first three rounds. I mean, obviously, you never know how their draft is going to unfold.

Speaker 01590.56s - 1592.14s

And you've got to let the draft come to you.

Speaker 31592.14s - 1597.62s

And, you know, you'll get some opportunities to move back or move up like the Chargers did in the second round.

Speaker 01597.92s - 1598s

Yeah.

Speaker 21598s - 1606.88s

But they just didn't feel like they have found the right value for the position yet. But that has to change immediately on day three and I

Speaker 01606.88s - 1612.48s

mean early I mean yeah I mean the fourth round pick preferably yeah taking a

Speaker 31612.48s - 1616.38s

corner and addressing that because there are you know some pretty decent

Speaker 01616.38s - 1631.16s

corners that will be available early in the fourth round so hopefully the Chargers ORG address that like I said before you don't want to be pigeonholed to have to go out there and address a need but want to be pigeonholed to have to go out there and address a need, but we're at that point where they have to go address a need.

Speaker 31632.06s - 1704.46s

Yeah. And it'll be interesting to see out of the way, right? Because there are some very intriguing prospects at the positions that aren't their biggest needs right now that could be very enticing. Let's start with running backs, right? Ray Davis, a guy that we talked about, the running back from Kentucky that we liked. Jalen Wright PERSON, who was getting second realm buzz as a bona fide home run hitter that would fit nicely honestly with Gus Edwards PERSON and J.K. Dobbins, the 72nd player on the consensus big board is now, I mean, we're over pick 100 now. This guy is still available. Maybe the top safety in this class, Jaden Hicks PERSON, some people think fromWashington State still available. 69th overall on the consensus class, Jaden Hicks PERSON, some people think from Washington State still available. Sixty-ninth overall in the consensus big board. Then you look at the needs. One of the guys that fuels like the Chargers could potentially pick at 105, Brandon Dorliss PERSON, right, defensive tackle from Oregon GPE. You'd have to pass up on cornerback again, but what did Trevor Sycambea tell us? Jesse Minter PERSON doesn't necessarily like these big plotting defensive tackles. He likes the more athletic guys, sometimes even the tweeners. That's what Brandon Dorales PERSON is, right? And then you look at cornerback. T.J. Tampa, someone who's thought to potentially go in the second round. The 53rd consensus big board guy right now is now falling to the fourth round. Yeah, Iry Jackson, Curie Jackson, cornerback from Oregon, formerly of Alabama GPE still available.

Speaker 21705.06s - 1723.96s

Cam Hart from Notre Dame ORG still available. So David PERSON, even though there's a lot of needs, that next pick, maybe you trade both fifth round picks to get back in the fourth roundand snatch two of these guys, right? But there are some real talent that's still left on this board and we'll see how it plays out at the beginning of day three. I mean, not to mention the guysthat you already talked about, but there's a couple other ones as well. I mean, Tideon PRODUCT.

Speaker 31724.36s - 1728.02s

Yeah, the Tideon is interesting. he's still available in the fourth round.

Speaker 21728.02s - 1732.08s

That's somebody you watch too. I mean, you're looking for a receiving threat at Tide End FAC. He's

Speaker 31732.08s - 1736.14s

probably the second best in this class. Right. Or Cade Stover PERSON, another tie down that's available.

Speaker 21736.26s - 1741.9s

I know another wide receiver that's very popular with a lot of people, Troy Franklin. I know.

Speaker 31741.9s - 1776.66s

So there is a ton of still very high quality, very highly ranked prospects that are going to be available for the chargers in the middle rounds. And they still have a lot of needs. And they have some ammunition to be able to utilize. And hey, after the first three picks, I am all aboard the Joe Hortiz and Jim Harbaugh PERSON Express. Let's see what else chef Hortiz is cooking up for the rest of this draft. But I am very happy with what they've done so far. Yeah, I mean, you brought him up, Jatavian Sanders PERSON. This is a guy that's been pretty

Speaker 01776.66s - 1781.48s

polarizing, I would say, through this draft process, right? I mean, at the beginning, it was

Speaker 21781.48s - 1805.12s

almost a consensus that this dude was the second best guy in this entire draft, right? He is the 61st player on the consensus big board. Like the consensus big board, say what you want. They're not usually very far off, right? It's not usually as far off as some of these guys have fallen. So you're looking for, hey, if they end up taking that guy, can you be mad at it? Right? Because they're obviously, they think going best player available, even though it's not a direct need.

Speaker 51805.62s - 1810.28s

But let's take a second to laugh at the Chargers former GM, Tom Telesco PERSON,

Speaker 01810.4s - 1813.44s

as we wrap up the second draft day show because I'd put a post out

Speaker 31813.44s - 1817.04s

because it sucks seeing Brock Bowers and Jackson Powers and Jackson Powers Johnson PERSON both go to the radio.

Speaker 21817.04s - 1845s

Yeah, I didn't like that. Falling into the lap of Tom Telesco PERSON once again. And when I saw that, I was like, that is gross. The good news is it's almost round three and that's when Tom Delasco might just take some player that you've never heard of right and then a huge huge reach and did he deliver because then the third round comes around after having it overwhelmingly kind of praised first couple of rounds he goes with Delmar Glaze exactly no one's ever heard of him. Who?

Speaker 31845.7s - 1847.3s

Some things never change.

Speaker 01847.38s - 1858.26s

And as nice it is to have, you know, good guys fall into your lap and to take them when they're available. It'll be nice, you know, getting someone like a junior Colson PERSON and someone you feel really good about him, potentially the best player at his position.

Speaker 31858.56s - 1865.66s

Instead of taking like the 220 ranked player on some boards on the ESPN board 220 plus.

Speaker 21866.2s - 1875.46s

Sheesh. Seventh round pick. Right. If you look at the consensus big board, he was in the 150s, right? Borderline sixth round pick. So that he took in the third round.

Speaker 31875.66s - 1879.14s

But he took in the third round, as Tom Teleska PERSON likes to do.

Speaker 21879.3s - 1939.98s
