Antoine PERSON, of course, is now the highest paid defensive back in football, and we got some of the details, and they are as follows. $24 million guaranteed this season, $21 million guaranteed in 2025,then $19.5 million in 20206, $19.6 million in 2027. So the first two years, fully guaranteed. There is an out, you know, quote unquote, after those two years. But Evan PERSON, what were your thoughts when the news broke that Antoine PERSON isn't just the highest paid safety, the highest paid defensive back, and then getting more guaranteed money than any safety in league history.

Well, judging by how Jason Light was kind of doing his media tour the week prior, it kind of felt like this thing was going to get done, right? So the shock value of it wasn't necessarily too surprising, especially when the GM goes out there and says he deserves to be paid like the highest safety in the league. Now, being the highest paid DB in the league, I guess to an extent a little impressive. I mean, you know, with these agents, they love to have the big headline.And, you know, by like 0.025, Winfield PERSON got over that mark, correct? Right. But I think the most important thing here is that in a world where safety value has been depressed, like this offseason, the value of the safety has been awful. It's hard out there in those streets for Winfield PERSON to kind of come in and set the market for his position at a time of severe weakness for a lot of his counterparts, that's a pretty big deal. Obviously, it's well deserved, especially because of everything Todd Bowles PERSON has him do on that defensive side. So while he's a safety, he is also in the box.He's also a fierce tackler. He's also blitzing. He is a switch blade knife for his head coach, who's one of the best defensive minds in the National Football League ORG. And I just feel like his skill set is a little bit unique to what we see around the league when typically talking about safeties and what they do on a game by game basis.So certainly earned, I don't think there was any Buccaneers ORG fan, any national pundit who says that Antoine Winfield Jr. PERSON did not deserve the contract that he got. And it continues to send a signal throughout that locker room that, hey, if you, outside of the quarterback position, which Jason Light has invested outside money with Brady, with Baker PERSON, to make sure that they stay in town. But to everybody in that locker room, look, if you work hard, you're, you know,you do everything you're supposed to do on and off the field, we're going to reward you. And Jason Light PERSON does not want to play games in the free agent market. It's just a dicier way to go about business. You don't really know who you're bringing in. Success has varied throughout his tenure as GM about the additions he has made with free agents. So he knows what he has and these players, the development program, the continuity,all that stuff is fantastic. And Winfield PERSON is just a guy who sets to tone for everybody on that team, offensively, defensively, beyond the statistics, which, you know, we can roll through whatever. Everybody pretty much knows it by now. He's a captain on the squad. His hustle plays pop out on tape.It's something that the coaches can point to and say, hey, if this guy is doing it, you can do it. And his hustle plays also change the complexion of a clump of games throughout the season. I mean, off the top of my head, right? You think about the Panthers ORG game to clinch the division and make the playoffs. You think about he did it twice. I mean, the play that he made against the Panthers ORG,he did it against the Falcons ORG. He almost did it twice in that game against the Falcons ORG. He did do it to the Falcons ORG twice.

especially as a savvy blitzer. It's just guys like him don't come around often. So he's a bowling ball out there. And it's hard to say that this wasn't a fantastic move. The fact that you can kind of get out of this deal after two years is a good safety net because he does have concussion issues, not last year,but previously, you know, he struggles with that. So that would be my only concern with giving Antoine Winfield Jr. PERSON a contract is right, like dealing with the concussion issues, but giving him essentially two years fully guaranteed and then figuring it out from there, where his money is kind of light on the books after that. You got some flexibility in your future. So, yeah, I mean, a lot of good things.

Yeah, shout out to the guys in the YouTube ORG comment section, the one saying that Antoine PERSON is not worth that kind of money because he single-handedly lost a playoff game to the Rams getting burnt to Cooper Cup WORK_OF_ART. And then shout out to the other troll that said that it was Antoine PERSON's fault that they lost to the Lions ORG.Yeah, no. No on both counts. But please continue to watch the show. So, yeah, an $8 million cap hit for Antoine this season, then a $25 million cap hit next year. The Bucks did throw a void year in there to spread this out a little bit. But according to over the cap, the Bucks currently have $8.5 million in cap space after the Antoine PERSON deal got done.So the Bucks ORG leave themselves a little bit of wiggle room. And Tristan Wurst PERSON is really the last piece in terms of getting extensions done. So how soon does Evan PERSON expect for that to happen? It would behoove the buccaneers to get something done immediately with Tristan PERSON worse. The problem is, right, the longer you wait and go ask to Dallas Cowboys ORG about this, the longer you wait the more your price is going to go up on your player who is going to want to be paid at the topof his position. Tristan Wurfs is going to be one, he's going to want top money at the offensive line position and especially going from right to left tackle,that also increased his bill. He's young. Everything grades out for him. He's pretty much your foundational piece, captain. You know, offensive linemen are really, really good ones. Do not pop up on free agent markets, right?Almost all of them are kept because they're the hardest commodities to find. So I don't think the Buccaneers ORG are necessarily worried too much about when they get the deal done. I'm pretty sure that Tristan PERSON's agents know know we're going to take care of Tristan. Don't you worry. We're setting things up. You know, we're moving stuff around.We're doing our projections. We've got to sign our picks. We've got to take care of this. We've got to take care of that. It's not lost in us that Tristan PERSON's going to get paid. But it would behoove the Buccaneers ORG to get it done sooner than laterbecause then the next star offensive lineman is going to raise the ceiling of what you owe. But I think Tristan PERSON's as safe of a player as you can extend long term. And for me, projecting like a future contract you know I would I would lean towards something in the five-year range you know Penae Sewell PERSON got four-year deal 112.5 million about 43 fully guaranteed you know I would I would say if Jason Light can keep Tristan south of 30 million per year on the full length of his contract, I think that that would be a great deal for the Buccaneers ORG.So, you know, I kind of have written 29 and a half for five years, comes out to $147.5 million. And I would give him $70 million fully guaranteed. The fully guaranteed money would be the highest ever given to, or the highest in the league right now, given to someone in his position. I don't know if it's ever. I assume it's got to be close. But, and, you know, the 29 and a half, the 147 and a half, all of this stuff puts him at the top of the leaderboard as far as contracts are concerned.But, yeah, I just, I wouldn't want to be the first one to go to 30. So I think that's, to me, that's sort of the sweet spot is, you know, we'll give him five years. We'll give him more guaranteed money, fully guaranteed money. That's nearly half of the contract is fully guaranteed. And let's keep this under 30 A.B. And, you know, I wouldn't even I wouldn't even be if they wanted to evenget to six years and to kind of play a little bit of that game of can we get this number lower by giving you more years and more fully guaranteed money? I would do that with Tristan PERSON.I just, I don't foresee a world where he's not part of this team for the long haul. And so lock him in, lock him in long time. And, and, you know, whatever the cost is, sure, but the longer you give him, it should help you in the long run when the cap goes up. And it also will bring probably his numbers down. So, you know, I'm sure his agent is probably going to fight for a four-year deal becauseif he can get four years, right, then he'll be, I don't know, how old, what, 28, 29, whatever the heck he's going to be. And he can make another fat contract when the cap goes up. So the long-term deal benefits the bucks, short-term deal benefits worse. And so it's just a matter of that negotiation, right? Hey, we'll, we'll do this if you get, you know, for six years, but we'll only do this for five and we'll only do this for four. So you got to decide what you want. And I think that's sort of the,in my eyes, not that I know anything, but in my eyes, that's the, that's the ping pong game I would play with worse and his representatives. But regardless, he's going to make top dollar. He's going to be on the bucks well into the future. So that I'm not worried about.

Yeah, a four-year deal would put him at his age 29 season. He just turned 25 in January. But yeah, I mean, you're 100% right. You take a look. The top paid left tackle is still Trent Williams. He signed his deal back in 2021. And it was a six-year deal for $138 million, you know, 23 a year, 40 guaranteed. And then you take a look at Andrew Thomas PERSON. And I woulddefinitely put Tristan above Andrew Thomas PERSON. He, you know, five-year deal, 67 guaranteed, 23 and a half a year. So, you know, everything that you just laid out sits there and says, you know, we have the best left tackle in football and he's going to be paid accordingly. But you're 100% right. You know, some of these contracts, I mentioned it when I was talking about the Antoine deal on Monday's episode. And it's like, we could be looking at this deal this time next year and saying this is a steal for a player like this.And you take a look, you know, if you're giving Tristan 29 and a half and you look at it two years from now. And now all of a sudden it's not taking a huge percentage of the salary cap because the cap's gone up another $40 million compared to what it is right now. Then, yeah, having the best left tackle in the NFL under 30 million a years, probably going to look like a steel. Yeah.

So I think that's the goal. And obviously there's no pressure, I think, from Tristan PERSON's side of things. They should be pushing for top dollars. So I think that's the ping pong battle.

I can actually see playing at Detroit as a Thursday night football game, but I would really hope that it would be a Sunday night football game, either which way, I don't know how Sunday, Monday or Thursday, how that one's going to land, but I see at Detroit, Buccaneers ORG at Detroit GPE as a primetime game. The spiciest, the spiciest one I got is at Dallas, Thanksgiving, Tom Brady PERSON in the booth.Oh. It's spicy. I told you. It's been a long, it's been a long time since the Buccaneers have played on Thanksgiving. Only one time, and they got their clocks cleaned. Correct.And if you can hold off on Brady doing a Bucs ORG game until then, which I don't know is possible possible depending on how the schedule goes, because there's a lot of premier games in there. But it would be nice to have Brady Buccaneers kind of looped into that angle with the Cowboys ORG and all that. You can kind of play off of it. I can see the fanfare around it as well.So that's my spiciest. And then I will go Creamsicle PRODUCT game, assuming the creams continue, considering their horrific history in those jerseys. I will go with the Philadelphia Eagles. Okay. Harkening back to the first ever playoff victory the Buccaneers ORG had. And I was against the Eagles ORG in the creamies.

The difference in predictions that you and I had are stark. And I actually tried, because I predicted three primetime games for the bucks. And I tried really hard to make one of those the lions. I was like, you have a divisional round rematch in the place where it happened. You know, this, this seems like it would work really well for prime time.But I was like, you know what? I just, I don't think I can pull the trigger on it. I have two of the three primetime games being against the NFC East ORG.

I mean, those are some some howitzers of matchups. You know, outside of that, you know, maybe home against the Raidersjust because of their brand and a West Coast LOC team. But though, I mean, that's like you have to imagine that one of those games Brady's returning back to Tampa Bay GPE for.And the Niners ORG one would be a great marriage between, obviously, his upbringing and playing in town. But, you know, it would be interesting. Obviously, they're going to want to get Brady covering a Patriots ORG game. Oh.So they'll force feed that in some former fashion. I don't know, you know, I guess you got to go on that page that out.
