Coming up on today's Lockdown Bucks PRODUCT, we sadly start to take a look back at the season. As Camille and Frank went through the post game for the final time this season, so Camille and I take a look back at that Indiana Pacers ORG series, but more importantly, some of the things that we saw come out afterwards in the comments from Janus PERSON,

Speaker 092.74s - 97.08s

Damien Lillard, and to Doc Rivers PERSON, all with some interesting comments for this team.

Speaker 597.14s - 113.04s

So we examine those and start to take an early view of what that could possibly mean for the bucksucks ORG this off season. So we start to take a look in the rearview mirror and project ahead on this episode of Locked on Bucks ORG.

Camille, the season comes to an end. And I think you and Frank PERSON did a good job of breaking down the overall thoughts and feelings coming out of that game. But I think if we're all being honest with ourselves, I know you and I had talked about some confidence we had of, I did legitimately feel like the Bucks are going to force the game seven. But you just kind of knew what this team was up against. You and I were talking before we were recording this too, about the feeling this year versus last year. And it's interesting because it's two straight years now that the bucks have been bouncing in the first round of the playoffs, which is obviously suboptimal and not where this team looks to be.It's not anything but disappointing to have your season end in the first round and to witness a game seven on Sunday afternoon and see another central division team move on and think, man, why can't that be us? I remember what that was like to be us. But it did seem like there was more of a cope in place that I think Bucks ORG fans knew, hey, this was a weird season. And I think, you know, we talked about this going into the Pacers ORG series. We touched on this a couple of times with Tony East of locked on Pacers ORG.It was a weird feeling going into this series because it did feel like the expectations from fans were at an all-time low, at least dating back to the era of the bucks never getting out of the first round. And so I think that was already kind of in place. And once the injuries became pretty clear, like the Yonis PERSON front, that I think we had talked about this on the show really from the onset of, I don't know if he's going to play. And I think you have to have the approach of you're not going to have Yonis PERSON.So how do we beat this Pacer ORG's team without him? And Damien Lillard PERSON goes down. Chris Middleton, you know, we'll probably get into it next week with a Chris Middleton full-on appreciation post and show, but Chris Middleton PERSON gets dinged up, Pat Beverly as well, but it just felt like one thing after another where you already had pretty low expectations, at least half of the Bucks ORG fans it seemed like to begin with, and then all thishappens that it just kind of sunk the hope. So when this particular series ended in the first round, while you're disappointed and in hindsight, probably even more disappointed. Factoring in the Damien Liller PERSON trade, all the other changes that this team made in the offseason, you at least, I think, accept it more and understand how we got here. But again, the danger is the pressure that's going to be on this team next season now.

Speaker 1351.82s - 497.38s

The pressure is going to be real. They had the pressure on them this season as well. And honestly, like thinking about this playoff run, this first round, flame out for the Bucks, it kind of feels like the season in a little sample size right there just with ups and downs where you're sitting here like, okay, this is what I think this team shouldbe able to do even without Janus PERSON in this particular game. Game one, you know, you're riding high. You're seeing Dame come out and have a historic first half in game one. And you feel like, okay, this is exactly why you make this trade. Like, this is what we were waiting for, so on and so forth. Pacer still won in Milwaukee, head back to Indiana GPE.That game three is where I always go back to at this point where it's like if the Bucks ORG could have found a way to get a win there. And that overtime game where Chris Middleton went for 42, like that's the one that I keep going back to like, man, that feels like a really missed opportunity for this team. And even game four, just thinking about Bobby Portis getting ejected so early on in that first quarter where you're like, that changes the dynamic of this game, especially given the fact that, you know, Dame ended up hurting himself laid in game three and just not being availablefor the next two games. And then even in that, like, Dame PERSON comes back and I applaud the fight, the effort. But you saw it, like, the explosiveness wasn't necessarily there for him. But, golly, was it impressive to see him get out there and who still give you 28 when he's clearly not feeling well. And that was the thing with this playoff series where I kept feeling, right? We were texting about this before we recorded, but the Janus PERSON injury feels a lot like in retrospect now, that 22 injury to Chris Middleton PERSON, where you're like, if we can justfigure out a way to get him back, like, he's close, he's got to be close, he's got to be close. And then you realize afterwards, like, they were actually working as hard as they could, Chris and 22 Janus this year, but they actually weren't as close to getting back as we thought that they were. And that was a thought that I had seen Dame return for game six, hearing that he was further along than where Janus was and seeing that Dame PERSON did not lookquite like Dame PERSON. So the question I had to myself was like, okay, if Dame's further ahead and he's still not looking like Dame PERSON, again, although he delivered a really good performance for where he was at. Like, it made me wonder like, what did Janus PERSON look like? And then I know we're going to dig deeper into like their exit interviews and things that they mentioned. But Janice PERSON was like, I couldn't even. I still can't run full speed.

Speaker 0497.58s - 499.58s

Like I've been trying as hard as I can.

Speaker 1499.64s - 514.08s

And it's just one of those things where it's like the ultimate, the hope of being like, they got to be close. We can just find a way, like keep dragging the series out. And unfortunately, it just didn't go the buck's way. Yeah, it's just, and look,

Speaker 5514.1s - 561.08s

I suppose, I think we kind of touched on this tiptoed around it leading up to that game six, but it's disappointing that your season has done. It is clearly not where the Bucks ORG view themselves as a franchise to now be out ofthe first round two years in a row. And I think you and I talked about this too. At the midpoint, somewhere around there, around the All-Star break this season when you kind of had to stop and catch yourself when you get into these conversations with others about people suggesting, man, the bucks could lose in the first round of the playoffs this year, huh? When you're looking at the matchups and everything else. And you were on the one hand like, yeah, that's kind of strange. But then you're reminded like, wait a minute, well, this team lost in the first round last year.

Speaker 0561.08s - 574.06s

Like it's not that big of a jump to say, hey, this could happen. And I suppose, look, we should get this part out of the way as well. I talked about it on my final postgame of the season,

Speaker 5576.36s - 593.46s

as much as this Pacer ORG's team, no disrespect to Tony PERSON and the rest of the group. They are not an easy team to like and root for with the way that they carry themselves in this series. I'm not going to, and I think you and I talked about this in one of the shows too, I'm not going to begrudge someone for celebrating, especially in the postseason and advancing.

Speaker 0593.68s - 595.24s

I mean, it's hard to do.

Speaker 5596.94s - 728.42s

The level of it in some of the situations where they were doing it is where you kind of raise an eyebrow, like, okay, you're beating this team without these handful of players here. But look, credit deserves to be handed out to the Pacers ORG because I know you and I touched on one of the big questions that you had coming into this series was it's a young Pacers ORG team that basically all of their postseason experience came from Pascal Seaccom and then to a lesser extent Miles Turner PERSON.It's hard to close a team out in the postseason. I think we witnessed that in game five of this series, that even when you have everything seemingly or most things going in your favor, you've never done it before, it's hard to close out a series. So the Pacers ORG do deserve a lot of credit there for a team that does not have a lot of playoff experience and certainly doesn't have any playoff experience as a collective groupto close out a team that's on the opposite end of the spectrum and fought that, you know, the way that we called for it, you wanted to see, you knew what the bucks were up against, but you wanted to see this group grow out the way that they did in 2022 against the Celtics ORG. And I do think that's what we saw. So the Pacers ORG do deserve a lot of credit there. But I think the other reality here, unfortunately for the Bucks ORG,and this will prompt us to the conversations we'll get into a much more detail as we get into the postseason here, is, you know, watching that as we record this Sunday evening, watching that game seven between the magic and the cavaliers today, obviously watching the series against the Pacers ORG, watching that series between the Knicks and the 76ers ORG, I don't know, at least with this iteration of the Bucks ORG, if you told me, hey, the injurythe honest, which it would have, still exists. Damien Lillard PERSON is going to suffer an injury and miss some time in that series. Chris Middleton PERSON's going to be a dinged up. All of those things. If you told me that, you know, the sad reality is I don't know what team and what matchup would have been the series for the Bucks to actually advance out of the first round of the playoffs.

Speaker 1729.24s - 737.98s

I mean, think of the year when the Bugs won the championship in 21 and we had to have Brooklyn ORG that series. And there was a lot of conversation with Brooklyn was healthy, you know, the Bugs ORG won the

Speaker 0737.98s - 739.94s

one to one. And the response was, well, they weren't.

Speaker 1740.22s - 742.02s

You can only play who's in front of you.

Speaker 0742.14s - 747.66s

So I don't begrudge any Pacers ORG fan taking victory laps like they haven't won a playoff series in a very long time.

Speaker 1748.22s - 870.96s

Enjoy that for sure. Now, like you mentioned, not a likable group over there in Indiana GPE, but they won. So to the victory goes the spoils, they can celebrate it the way they won't. I won't be grudge it. But again, like we've talked about what you need to win a championship, and there is some luck involved, and that luck generally revolves around injury luck. It's unfortunate that, you know, when Doc comes in the middle of the season, when I even middle, mostly over halfway into the season, he's coming in during the hardest part of the schedule for the Bugs ORG. He's coming in at a time where the Bugs had had pretty good injury luck, but Chris Middleton, you know, goes for a jumper, Katie's foot underneath them, he's out for 16 games. And then here comes Janis PERSON starting to get nicked up. Here's Dane fighting through injuries. And the reality is like even Yonis PERSON mentioned in his post game or hisex-interview just saying like, we only played six games healthy together, like me, Chris and Dame, six games under Doc PERSON, and that is it. And Doc PERSON was trying to implement a lot of different actions, have them play their offense a completely different way. And that's part of why when me and you talked about reasons for optimism. For this team, we were thinking about it with health going into the playoffs. Like, hey, if they have their core guys, they're going to be good. And honestly, that's what gives me some optimism heading into the summer with this team because there are a lot more things that are set with this Bucks ORG team. We don't have to have, like, well, who are the Bucks going to hire this summer? Like, we know who the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks is going to be going into next season. That should help out Dame PERSON, that should help out Janus PERSON, that should help out the whole team with better understanding. And we can talk about that a little bit more, that's how I had the break. But it's disappointing this season for sure. But I got to say, like the effort that these shorthanded bucks continue to put up, it showed me a lot in the season where I had some questions due to the inconsistency that they showed. But the playoffs did answer some questions for me. So that is something that gets me excited for next season. You touched on some of those

Speaker 5870.96s - 1161.28s

comments. So we will revisit some of those because I think there was a lot that we got from that group. Even the Bucks ORG conducted their basically end of season press conferences the day after as every team does. But even outside from that, that's where we got a chance to hear from Janus PERSON, the post game immediately after that game. I think there was a lot of very interesting things we heard from Doc Rivers PERSON, from Chris Middleton, from Damian Lillard, and then the following day from Janus PERSON as well.So we'll start to dissect some of those comments and our big takeaways on those coming up after the break here on lockdown bucks. All right, we mentioned the postgame comments from this group, and there was a lot that I was very, very interested from, as I mentioned, the post-game specifically, immediately after this game ended, we heard from Doc Rivers PERSON, and we heard Doc Rivers do the same thing we did, basically start his press conference with credit to the Indiana Pacers ORG and what he saw from his team, what he loved in the fight that they showed. We heard from Chris Middleton PERSON. And, you know, I think the big thing, too, was we all witnessed it towards the end of the game when Chris PERSON was lifted from the game. And I think the emotions just kind of spilled out of Chris Middleton PERSON.He addressed that too and said, it was nothing, really. I was just mad that we were losing and that it was done. And the season was over. But as much as Chris PERSON downplayed it, look, it's not a bad thing. But it was something to take away when you see, man, this just appears. This is a guy that knows I was on the spot where Janus is in two years ago.We didn't have a chance to really defend our title. And now I'm the guy that's carrying this team. And look, you and I, as we mentioned, we'll do the Chris Middleton Appreciation Show EVENT, which frankly should be like a three-hour show when we do it. But for those of us like you and I who have been, died in the wool, Chris Middleton diehard defenders from day one, this series was basically just thumping your chest and saying, see, I told you, this guy, the importance that's there, what he gives this team, how much better they are with Chris Middleton PERSON on the floor. I don't know what else to show you other than this series here. And he cares.

Speaker 11161.42s - 1162.62s

Like that's what I saw from it.

Speaker 51162.62s - 1168.64s

Not even just from the outburst of emotion after the game, which when I saw and I was like, that's just like emotion.

Speaker 11168.82s - 1350.06s

Like that's frustration. That's disappointment. That's everything coming out at once when you know you gave everything that you got. And it just wasn't enough in this particular series, just given situations. And also being like, hey, this is the healthy as I've been. And I'm still like, I still, you know, wasn't enough this time around because of everything else going on around as well. And again, credit to the Pacers and how they played as well. But Chris Middleton PERSON in this particular series, like, when Dame came back in game six, Doc PERSON mentioned it as well where he was like, there were sometimes where we felt like maybe we should have kept Chris PERSON more involved. He's like, Chris PERSON was tired. He was exhausted. And there were sometimes where he's giving a ball to Dame PERSON, like you, like you got it this time around.I need to take a playoff. And there's that conditioning aspect to it as well. Like playoff wall is different, especially when your body is hurting. So Doc PERSON mentioned afterwards, like we have to make sure our conditioning is right as well. And he mentioned that with Dane PERSON. And we've talked numerous times on this show about how Dame PERSON tends to approachthe offseason and how this particular year really threw things out of whack for him and how he likes to prepare for the game. But this is the summer where he's going to be able to understand. He knows where he's going to be going. He's here in Milwaukee GPE. So there's no, like, hey, I can't work out because I might get traded and I can't get injured. So there's none of that. He's going to have access to be going. He's here in Milwaukee GPE. So there's no, like, hey, I can't work out because I mightget traded and I can't get injured. So there's none of that. He's going to have access to the gym. He's going to have direction from his coaching staff about what they need. And Doc PERSON mentioning the fact that Dame PERSON came to him and was like, I'm going to be in the best shape. Like when you see me the next time, like I'm going to be ready to go. Seeing Dame Instagram comments like 2020, like, listen, we're coming for it next year. Like you like to see that energy. It's not a group that expected to be out in the first round. And that was very clear. Like, even with all the different challenges that we have mentioned at this team face, from the injuries, from just the bad timing of having a new coaching staff come in, all of those different things that one might use for an excuse as to why this team wasn't able to get out the first round. They looked at it like, in spite of we felt as if we should have won.Like, we are a team that believes in this, and that's a disappointing piece of it. But I do have some questions going into next season, wondering about how they approach the regular season as well, from the injury notes, just trying to preserve guys until the end of the season, as well as just thinking about how the type of effort and care they put into the regular season. It's a long grind. And a comment that stood out to me after the regular season closed from Doc around how they went on that losing streak to end the season. And he mentioned the fact that, you know, well, hey, we don't want that to happen, but it happened. And now we're here, here being the playoffs. And he's like, and honestly, I think that's what most of our guys were looking forward to anyways, unfortunately. But now here it is, which said a lot to me of being like, okay, these guys were waiting to get to the playoffs. So I do wonder, too, regular season next year, how different does that look, if at all, between trying to

Speaker 51350.06s - 1434.84s

keep guys healthy and their approach to the season in itself? And yeah, I was really struck by that. I do wonder, too, if we just see, I don't know if market correction is the best way to put it, but what the approach for numerous teams are in the regular season next year, because it was the good and the bad was, you know, looking at games played this regular season, where we talked about countless times, man, look at the number of games. For us specifically, Janice and Damien Lillard PERSON played in other teams, experience the same thing, too. And I wonder if we start to see teams scale back and say, look, I know it's tied into finances with the 65 and if you're eligible for all NBA ORG, but do we see more of approach maybe not quite as severe as the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler PERSON, but something similar to that where you're right at that threshold or you fall short of it because the recognitionis, hey, we just need you for the postseason. I was going to say, we've got some interesting comments that I queued up for us and wondering where you wanted to start. But you took it to Damien Lillard PERSON, which is as good a spot to start as any. And a lot of what you just hit on, Damien Lillard PERSON gave a very, very long but thought-out answer about his off-season, everything that he dealt with, and why he thinks he may catch people by surprise next season.

Speaker 01434.84s - 1520.78s

I think it was a roller coaster of a year. But I think for me personally, it was a year of growth more than anything. My first time being a part of a different organization than the Trailblazers, you know, after 11 years, picking up my life and, you know, being away from my family and away from my kids, you know, being traded so late into the summer, playing for multiple coaches, trying to find myself within a new dynamic, you know, a new team, a new organization, playing with another superstar player, another great player in K Mid ORG.So just trying to find my space within that with everything else happening all at the same time. I think it just, it was a lot for me to fight through, you know, but I take a lot of pride and standing tall, you know, when things don't go as planned or go how I would like them to go. And I always want to look back and be able to tell myself that as a man. Like, you know, when I didn't play well, when things didn't go, how I might have expected it to go when I was going through some things, whether people knew about it or not, I stood tall in it.You know, I never made an excuse or nothing like that. And it was a long year of that for me. Just a lot of growth, you know, a lot of getting used to new things. And that was pretty much it. I think it was a road.

Speaker 51531.16s - 1549.58s

So that last one kind of ties into the Instagram ORG story that you mentioned, too, that the dame kind of talked about how he was raised and how he carried himself. I mentioned on, I don't remember if it was with you or Frank, one of the last shows, too, some of the back and forth that I had with a national guy about his perspective on the Bucks. That was the one thing I took issue with in my correspondence with this individual was,

Speaker 01550.58s - 1554.96s

look, you can sell me on there's been a lot of excuses coming out of camp here for the Bucks ORG.

Speaker 51555.56s - 1645.86s

I don't think Damien Lillard PERSON himself was ever an individual that was putting excuses out there. I think we were, frankly, doing it for him, not just you and I, Camille, but everybody, all of us. It kind of pivoted from the, man, this is kind of not what I was expecting from Damien Lillard PERSON. And then you started to realize everything that was going on.I think we as Bucks ORG fans and those covering the team were starting to present those excuses. But they never came from Damien Lillard PERSON. And I was most struck by Dane PERSON in his post-game press conference laying out that, finally addressing all of that and saying, look, I've been dealing with more than you guys know. I didn't make an excuse. You could argue, well, why are you bringing it up now?But I think it was more to prove like, look, this was going on. I never mentioned it during the season. I didn't want to. It unfortunately didn't go our way. But there was X, Y, and Z that happened before the season as well. Now I have a chance to correct those. And now I have a chance to know all those things we mentioned, too. I know the coach.I know what to expect from him. I know what he's looking for. I know how to communicate with him. I know that I can use the gym. I know the team that I'm going to be playing for. He and Doc Rivers both mentioned not being in the best shape at the start of the season. And he think that kind of impactedhim throughout the season that he wasn't in that shape he needed to be in for an extensive run. And again, you touched on this. I forget the way that you laid it out, but it's, it's, is in a, the difference between an excuse and the reason behind it.

Speaker 11645.94s - 1648.16s

And I think that's what we kind of grapple with here.

Speaker 51648.56s - 1673.92s

But there's logic there with what Damien Lillard PERSON was dealing with. Again, the biggest thing is, you know, if we take a step back and examine all of this, you can talk yourself into it. You can say, okay, that makes sense. But it's a ton of pressure next year because we already knew it was a very limited window with this particular group. And now the first year in that window has ended with a first

Speaker 11673.92s - 1785.8s

round playoff exit. Yeah. And it's one of those things too when you look at it like, okay, it's normally hard to win it your first year. But Bugs ORG fans can look back like, well, the first year we had Jew Holiday EVENT, like it resulted in the championship. Everything just happened to click in that season immediately. But again, the degree of difficulty for this year was a little bit higher with the coaching switch halfway through with new systems being operated.Like the Bugs were able to insert Drew into a system that the rest of the team was comfortable with. And this year was learning a new one and then learning another new one on top of that. And again, my town like an excuse, but I think that's more so a reason as to why things were difficultbecause I call it a reason rather than an excuse because even with that being a reason, I still thought the Bucks ORG had a way to win regardless of those reasons. So, like, that's for me where it's like, I'm not saying that's why they lost. They lost because the Pacers ORG outplayed them. They were injured, that's for me where it's like, I'm not saying that's why they lost. They lost because the Pacers ORG outplayed them. They were injured, whatever the case may be. But, like, I have faith in this team because of these reasons. And I see everything that they were going through. And honestly, it might be a good thing for them to go through this much adversity in their first year because it helps something to build on.Like, it helps bring that character out. And we saw the character of Dane and that answer throughout this season as well. And it fits really well with the way that Janus PERSON approaches the game, with the way that Chris approaches the game. And honestly, some of the things that Doc has mentioned with this being our first go-round with Doc PERSON Rivers in Milwaukee as a coach, it showed me a lot about Doc as well, given allof the things you hear about Doc Rivers and the 3-1 jokes and the coaching malpractice jokes and, oh, there's no way you're going to win with Doc Rivers PERSON. But I think that with this team and this group of vets here that respect his voice, like there is a pathway forward for this team to be contending, to be good. And I don't think that Doc Rivers PERSON is going to be a detriment to that.

Speaker 51786.6s - 1840.24s

There's two other cuts from Damien Lillard PERSON. I do want to play on the other side of the break here when he talks about his time in Milwaukee and the public perception of his feelings about that. And then again, his expectations for next season. But, you know, that's the thing, too, is the super teams. And as we pointed out all season long, the Bucks ORG are a super team. You don't have two all 75 players and not carry yourself as a super team. It never really works out in the first year. It always takes time. And so in that sense, the Bucks ORG were probably always going to be up against it. The caveat is, well, look, you can point to Miami Heat ORG is, I've seen people do it and say, hey, LeBron didn't win a title his first year in Miami. He made the finals. So it first, and look,

Speaker 41840.32s - 1845.16s

it was a different Eastern NORP conference, but still, it's, yeah, I'm with you to an extent,

Speaker 51845.16s - 2096.7s

but it wasn't a first-round exit. And look, the injuries and everything else that this team was dealing with were another thing. My big takeaway with it, and it really struck me today in watching that series between the finale, between the Magic ORG and the Cavs was, what if the Bucks played the Magic? I don't know if it goes any differently with the way that the magic play defense and what the Bucks ORG were without offensively in some of that athleticismand seen some of the things of Magic ORG were doing defensively in that series. What if they played the Cavs ORG? Maybe you could talk me into that, but still, Cleveland had had the Bucs ORG number, basically. I know they put the regular season series, but Cleveland had, you know, their wins were more convincing over the Bucks ORG number, basically. I know they put the regular season series, but Cleveland had, you know, their wins were more convincing over the Bucks ORG. The Nix, you could point to, hey, the Bucks ORG won that regular season series, but that final game, kind of what we talked about with this Pacer ORG series, the two teams were different in that final game versus the first four games, and it looked a lot different with the way the Knicks were able to play with with O'GNanobie on the floor. And same with Philly ORG. I mean, that was the team that I had talked about quite a bit. I was most concerned with in terms of pace. That probably would have been the preferred opponent for the Bucks ORG, but we still saw Joel Embed while he wasn't great put up the numbers that he did, Tyrese Maxie still. So I don't know that there was really a team to point to with the Bucks ORG injury situation and everything else that they were dealing with and say, man, if only we couldhave played that team, we would have gotten out of the first round of the playoffs. And that just kind of speaks to how big this offseason is going to be in some of those tweaks that certainly appear to be in store for this team. So, again, we'll get to all of those questions and storylines for the offseason. As there's a lot of individual personnel decisions to be made, we'll get into that and the cap implications. Frank PERSON talked about this with you on the final show.Well, they're in a better spot, ironically enough, because of losing in the first round in terms of some of the restrictions that are going to be placed on them, but a lot of big decisions to be made. So we'll get to that in the coming shows here in this offseason. But I do want to revisit a couple of those, Damien-Lillard comments as we start to wrap things up after this on lockdown. Speaker 52145.92s - 2167.46s

All right, Camille, a couple other the answers that we got from Damien Lillard PERSON that really struck me. We went through his going through everything that he dealt with this offseason, but the big thing that we heard from numerous people was what? The big story in line with Damien Lither PERSON was always seemingly, dame's unhappy in Milwaukee GPE, just looking at him.

Speaker 42167.46s - 2169.08s

He carries himself.

Speaker 12169.56s - 2170.36s

You would hear it.

Speaker 42170.7s - 2181.12s

I would hear it. We would see it on social media. I look at him. He's miserable. Damien Lillard PERSON never addressed those throughout the course of the season, but it seemed as though he heard it all season long.

Speaker 52182.06s - 2188.24s

And after the game against the Pacers, after game six, this was his time where he's going to say, look, let me set the record straight on these.

Speaker 02188.32s - 2316.4s

Things don't go as planned, like I said before. You know, I don't say a lot. So sometimes when people, you know, make a read, you know, our dame, he doesn't look happy. You know, I don't think I've ever run around on the court smiling. You know, my disposition has always been that way, but I think, you know, people are going, they're going to look at everything and try to make something of everything. It's been, it's been some hard times. You know, I haven't denied that one time this year. You know, basketball and personally, you know, it's been some hard times, but it's never been a issue with Milwaukee. You know, I get the opportunity to play with Janice PERSON. I'm playing with veteran players. You know, I know that the only thing we plan for is the opportunity to win the championship. And that's why I, you know, made the decision to be a part of something like this. But I understand that the chatter and the gossip and all of those things come with the territory. I know that criticism comes with being on the team with high expectations. And for me, now that the season has come to an end, I'm looking at it. And I'm excited that, you know, me having a season that I had, you know, I was almost 25 points a game, 7 assists. We almost won 50 games, given everything else. And people just, you know, had a whole lot to say. And, you know, when I look at my performance, I noted I could have done a lot of things better. And I know that I'm going to have a full season of knowing the coach I'm going to be playing for having a better idea of the guys that I'm going to be playing with being in Milwaukee you know I've kind of settled into things here so having a regular offseason and being able to actually you know train and be able to do live stuff last year I couldn't do certain things because I couldn't get hurt because I knew I was going to get traded. So I think going into next season, people will be, they'll be really surprised that, you know, how much of impact all of these things actually did have when they see me, when they see me come back.

Speaker 52318.52s - 2348.72s

I mean, that's Damien Lillard PERSON kind of articulated in everything that we had mentioned throughout this. And I think to me, you everything that we had mentioned throughout this. And I think to me, you know, we heard a lot of, I think, good answers from Doc Rivers, from Chris Middleton that we touched on as well. To me, I was most struck by everything that Damian Lillard PERSON said because of the candor, because of things like that and addressing, look, I've heard this, I'm sick of hearing that I'm not happy here in Milwaukee GPE. And when he made that comment, too, about, you know, I never walk around with a smile in those games.

Speaker 02348.76s - 2353.1s

You think back to all of your day memories and think, yeah, you know what, that checks out.

Speaker 32353.18s - 2357.8s

I don't remember ever seeing Damian Lillard PERSON beaming with a smile, even when he eliminates

Speaker 02357.8s - 2361.38s

the Oklahoma City Thunder and that game winner against the Houston Rockets ORG, too.

Speaker 52361.46s - 2363.3s

It's still stone-faced Damian Lillard PERSON.

Speaker 02363.3s - 2365.86s

So, yeah, those things check out.

Speaker 52365.86s - 2430.66s

And, you know, Camille, to me, it may be the most, how would we put it? The comment that kind of prompted you to say, uh-oh, more than anything. But I appreciated and thought it was important for Dame PERSON to say, look, injuries were a big, and we didn't hear this cut, but injuries were a big part of this. It wasn't just any injury. It was Janus PERSON.So it's not to say, hey, you're without one of your best players. We were without one of the best players in the league. But, and again, this is where I would push back to that individual about the excuses. He didn't offer an excuse there and said, you know, yes, these things were all true and that we were up against it with these injuries. But there's no one that's going to guarantee that won't be the case next year. So we just have to figure out how to make this work as best we can. And the big pieces that he touched on how he can get better and even acknowledging, look, in reviewing my performance, I know there are areas that I can be better. And I think I'm going to be there because of how different this offseason is

Speaker 12430.66s - 2435.98s

than last year. Accountability saying, hey, even I know I can play better. He didn't say like,

Speaker 52436s - 2465.38s

even the end still, I still put up some pretty decent numbers regardless of such, but I understand there's another level for me to hit. His comments on Milwaukee GPE came, like, it was beautiful, like you said, just saying, like, that's how I am. Like, I'm not somebody who emotes a lot. I think part of it is just because all prior offseason, we were hearing Miami and Dame PERSON, Miami and Dame, it ends up being Milwaukee GPE.It's like not the city that starts with an M that I thought Day PERSON would be ending up in it. Am I? Right. And for as much as I love Milwaukee, because I do Dane PERSON would be ending up in. Am I? Right.

Speaker 12465.62s - 2480.44s

And for as much as I love Milwaukee, because I do love Milwaukee, it's not Miami GPE. It's a little bit different. Now, I do hope that I know Dame's going to be back in Portland with family and everything in this offseason, but I hope he gets to experience some of the Milwaukee summer as well.

Speaker 52480.44s - 2481.72s

Maybe we'll run into him at Summerfest EVENT.

Speaker 12482.02s - 2484.06s

You know, maybe, maybe. Maybe.

Speaker 52484.06s - 2487.1s

Brady Street Days and the River West 24 FAC.

Speaker 12488.06s - 2492.56s

And Doc, too, he mentioned how happy he was to be in Milwaukee GPE at this point in time.

Speaker 52492.94s - 2518.78s

And real quick, too, Camille, to that point, you know, it's never going to be viewed the same as Damien Lillard PERSON. But Doc Rivers PERSON is still living out of hotels. So I know that was one of the big things he's talked at length about how important Milwaukee GPE is to him. That now that he finally has time, he and his wife are looking for a place to live in Milwaukee GPE. So he's not just living out of a suitcase in a hotel for four months.

Speaker 12519.74s - 2526.5s

And listen, we can end this way because there are so many other comments we can pull. We have a lot of time, Justin PERSON. Yeah. Unfortunately, we can end this because there are so many other comments we can pull. We have a lot of time, Justin PERSON, being that.

Speaker 52527.54s - 2527.92s

Unfortunately, we do.

Speaker 12528.28s - 2653.82s

Right. But, I mean, Bugs fans have already seen it. Like, the ringers already put out an article about Janus PERSON's future. And we've seen on ESPN some talking heads saying Dame PERSON should be traded this offseason because he's clearly not happy here in Milwaukee GPE. And you heard the words from Dame PERSON himself. Like, that's not the case here. And even during the season, sometimes when the noise was getting really loud about Dame being unhappy in Milwaukee GPE, you would see a comment or two from people close to Dame PERSON saying like it's cap or whatever the case may be. So it's just part of it. Like at this point, Bugs fans are used to seeing every single summer,Yannis is about to leave. And now that Damien Lillard PERSON's here as well, it's going to be another added layer of, well, maybe Dame PERSON should be traded here, and they should do this instead. But I think what we're going to see with this team, again, another year.Give them a full summer to work together. Give them a full summer with Doc PERSON at the helm, figuring out exactly what spots he wants them on the court, allow them to have time to work out over the summer, to get to know each other better over the summer as well. Like, it's disappointing that we're here and we're already starting these off-season conversations. I was hoping the Bucks ORG would be playingbasketball on my birthday by the end of this month, but that's not going to be the case. But there are things, like I mentioned earlier, that have me optimistic about this team going forward. But it is going to be a big summer for this team. I mean, we have a lot to talk about, like I said, throughout the summer. But I mean, the development of AJ Green, Andre Jackson Jr., Marciaumbochamp PERSON, like, Doc Hebert. Chris Livingston PERSON. Like, yeah, Chris Livingston.Like, those four guys in particular, how does the team get more athletic? Does athletic mean younger? Like, there are so many different things and questions that we are going to be able to discuss this offseason about what to expect with the bucks, what might work best for the bucks. So I hate to be here already with offseason conversations, but I am excited to kind of start thinking through thingsas well as taking a look back on this season that just wrapped up for the Bucks ORG as well.

Speaker 52654.74s - 2667.9s

As we wrap here, not to put you on the spot or date you here, Camille, but you mentioned hoping the Bucks ORG were playing on your birthday and hinting at when that was, is it three times in your lifetime that that has been the case?

Speaker 12668.24s - 2697.38s

Just thinking through some of these series. Yeah, because I remember the Toronto series was the first time where I was like, wow, the Bucks ORG are like playing on my birthday. And it didn't go well because they ended up losing the last few games there. And then we were out in each conference finals. So yeah, it's only been a couple of times uh that i can't recall like yeah the bucks are playing ball on my birthdaylast time before the most current run was those uh ray allen PERSON the big dog when we got to each conference

Speaker 52697.38s - 2704.1s

final yeah because so that's it the the years prior were the indiana pacer's first round losses

Speaker 02704.1s - 2705.34s

so yep what a time what a time uh we got a lot to get into with that uh some The years prior were the Indiana Pacer's first round losses. Yep.

Speaker 52706.24s - 2825.38s

What a time. What a time. We got a lot to get into with that. Some more comments coming out of the Bucks ORG media availability. As now we got five months to take a look at the upcoming season. So as we get closer to the draft, that's going to be interesting in itself too. Do the Bucks ORG trade that pick?Do they keep it and continue to add some young players to this roster? We'll take a look at players projected to go where the bucks are going to be picking in those mid-20s. And the big piece obviously is going to be free agency as we get into July. So a lot to start to get to here on Locked on Bucks ORG as we move into the offseason, a couple of guests as well. I know we basically had a soft promise that everybody's favorite host would make another return in a guest appearance, but that was for sure withthe caveat that the Bucks were going to be playing in the Eastern Conference ORG finals, which he will be covering. So who knows with that one? But between you and me and the listeners, I know the last time I talked to him, he did express some interest in, hey, are you guys thinking of doing a live show again? So obviously a lot to pull that together, but it is certainly on the table. If we can get him back in town for that,it is definitely something that we are looking at doing, especially given the turnout that we had a season ago with that live show. So we still got a lot planned here for the offseason. And once again, this should be a very, very interesting off season for the bucks. We will be back, be back once again tomorrow. As we start to take a look at some of those questions, start to dig in some of the individual performers and a full-on Chris Middleton appreciation show that we will get to this upcoming week as well. So for Camille, I am Justin, we will catch up once again tomorrow on Locked-on Bucks. I am Justin. We will catch up once again tomorrow on Locked-on Bucks.
