Speaker 10s - 7.3s

Somebody's going to go bridge here. It's a matter time. Hello, everybody.

Speaker 37.38s - 18s

Welcome back to the Gombardge podcast, episode 154. My name is Andrew Gardner, joined alongside by Alex Cawson PERSON. Closson, how are we doing today? Doing great.

Speaker 018.2s - 34.32s

Good to be back on the mic, ready to talk some socks in episode 154. We've got about, what do we got, seven series, one in the making that we're about to talk about. So we got a lot to cover. Got a lot of ground. But this is why we came back. We're back.

Speaker 334.82s - 127.44s

Three week, it was about three week hiatus, busy times in the Gonebridge PERSON world. But we are back. Episode 154, Sox are still swimming above 500 somehow today is going to be a little bit of a catch-up episode we're going to talk a lot about really uh the last couple games in general which is what we'll hone in on but overall i feel like this episode is more going to be about talking about the team in general there There have been a whole lot of injuries up and down the lineup.I mean, name a guy. He's probably missed time this year. Pitchers performances, more so kind of that deal rather than a game by game recap, which if you listen to most of our episodes, I feel like you can kind of expect there. But, uh, Klauson PERSON, you, actually, we,well, we had to record a second intro because, uh, stuff was lagging out. And I, I can't remember if it was in the first one or second one.You mentioned, uh, seventh series, uh, since we last recorded, being wrapped up right now against the Atlanta Braves ORG.And our former pal, World Series EVENT champion closed up, 2018, uh, championship team for the Red Sox ORG. Chris Sale on the mound for the Braves today. And he's carving up the socks right now. Marcelo Zuna's got Nick Povetta's number in his first game back. Since the second week of the season, he was out for a little bit. And looking like it's going to be a two-game sweep. I don't even, can you call a two-game set a sweep?Kind of like a fake sweep.

Speaker 0127.98s - 133.46s

I mean, it's technically a sweep, but it's kind of a fake. Yeah, you're right. It's kind of a fake sweep.

Speaker 3133.88s - 134.68s

It's such a fake sweep.

Speaker 0134.68s - 137s

You got to win three to sweep. I agree.

Speaker 3137.28s - 141.22s

What can you call a two? Like a dusting? I like that.

Speaker 0141.32s - 141.68s

All right.

Speaker 3142.32s - 142.8s

We're getting done.

Speaker 0143.4s - 154.74s

We're getting dusted by the Braves ORG. Oh, yeah. All right. I think that's a Red So we're getting dusted by the Braves ORG. Oh, yeah. All right. I think that's a good new term because I think four games is a gentleman sweep, three games is a sweep, two games is a dusting. I like it. All right.

Speaker 3154.82s - 155.86s

There's no one game series.

Speaker 0156s - 156.74s

I guess a wild card.

Speaker 3156.82s - 159s

What would you, yeah, what would you have, what would you have called?

Speaker 0159.1s - 159.4s

You just win.

Speaker 3159.64s - 162.02s

You just win. I'm just like, you're done. Yeah.

Speaker 0162.78s - 163.62s

A couple years ago.

Speaker 3163.62s - 164.02s

No, series.

Speaker 0164.38s - 164.62s

What?

Speaker 3165.98s - 166.34s

It's not a series. True. That's true. It's just a win. All right just like, you're done. Yeah. A couple years ago. No, series. What? It's not a series.

Speaker 0166.66s - 166.9s

True.

Speaker 3167.52s - 174.3s

That's true. It's just a win. All right. Dusting sweep, gentleman sweep. New terminology.

Speaker 0175.64s - 178.46s

Quad A dusting. Gone bridge is coming up with the good stuff.

Speaker 3179s - 220.48s

There you go. There you go. Speaking of Quad A, I want to quickly mention Bobby Dolbeck PERSON. He's back down in AAA and he's, I saw I hit another home run last night. And I got to think that this is a, it's a mental thing for Bobby because he looks like such a different player in AAA ORG. So relaxed. He gets up to the Biggs PRODUCT. And I don't have his numbers in front of me. But he was, he was up for a good, what would you say? Like three weeks to a month? Yep. I'd say like three weeks. And I believe he had a little stretch there before he got sent back down. But I don't know. Just leave Bob PERSON alone. If you've been listening for a while, kind of get the mantra, leave Bob PERSON alone. But I think it's got to be a mental thing.

Speaker 0221.28s - 224.32s

He had a, what, six, seven game hit streak going?

Speaker 3224.32s - 227.92s

I think it was like it on, I think he had a six game on base streak or something like that.

Speaker 0228.28s - 232.28s

That's pretty good after starting what, like, oh and 38? Yeah.

Speaker 3232.36s - 234.12s

He was on a,

Speaker 0234.14s - 238.08s

a Chris PRODUCT Davis. What was that? I was afraid he was going to touch Chris Davis PERSON.

Speaker 3238.4s - 258.34s

He was getting close. Not close enough. Like we were still talking probably 20, 25 at bats, but not good uh the red sox did bring in reinforcements on uh the first base side of the ball obviously sinceour last episode uh tristan costis again this is kind of old news out he's on the 60 day d l he's got

Speaker 0258.34s - 266.28s

a broken rib or two broken ribs are not fun yeah i thought it was a cartilage tear was it i thought it was a broken rib i thought it was a cartilage tear. Was it? I thought it was a broken

Speaker 3266.28s - 271.62s

rib. I think it's a cartilage tear because everyone was freaking out, myself included, that

Speaker 0271.62s - 277.62s

Jacobi Ellsbury had a cartilage tear in his ribs like 12 years ago and he was never the same.

Speaker 3277.72s - 282.64s

Was that when he was trying to steal the baseball? What was that? 2012? Yeah. You got landed on. I think

Speaker 0282.64s - 286.12s

they were playing, look this up if you're listening. I feel like I got almost, I know they were playing, look this up, if you're listening,

Speaker 3286.84s - 286.96s

I feel like I got,

Speaker 0287.52s - 287.64s

I got almost,

Speaker 3288.72s - 288.78s

I know they were playing Tampa Bay GPE.

Speaker 0289.98s - 290.66s

I believe it was like April,

Speaker 3294.02s - 312.8s

in the range of April 8th to April 12th, 2012. Let's see. I know they were playing Tampa Bay GPE, though. I can't remember who landed on him. Maybe a Ben Zobrist PERSON.Wait, what did you say it was? My final guess is April 12th, 2012. You're a day off.

Speaker 0312.94s - 313.7s

No way.

Speaker 3313.9s - 319.66s

Oh, wait, you're a day and two years off. It was 2010? Am I thinking?

Speaker 0319.66s - 321.24s

This is what I'm finding.

Speaker 3321.42s - 323.34s

Jacoby Ellsbury PERSON has a new rib fracture.

Speaker 2323.64s - 323.92s

Okay.

Speaker 3324.04s - 349.54s

It's a broken rib in the back. It's broken in the same place that I broke it before. From that description, the rib that Ellsbury PERSON fractured was the same one that he contended when he went undetected. What? He went undetected after his April 11th collision with third baseman, Adrian Belchre PERSON.Damn. Okay. So what was Adrian PERSON Belcher was Seattle. Okay, so what was Adrian. Adrian Belcher was Seattle ORG, then. Can you look up his 2012 injury?

Speaker 1350.82s - 353.14s

Yeah, wait, no, no, because Belcher PERSON was on the team.

Speaker 3353.42s - 354.2s

Belcher was 2011.

Speaker 0354.66s - 355.54s

No, no, no, hold on.

Speaker 1356.14s - 356.88s

I'm getting this also.

Speaker 3356.92s - 359.38s

No, Belcher was on the team in 2010. He was on Texas ORG.

Speaker 0360.38s - 361.54s

In 2011, he was.

Speaker 3361.9s - 363.54s

2010, Belcher was with Boston GPE.

Speaker 0363.84s - 365.22s

Can you look up Jaci Ellsbury's

Speaker 3365.22s - 368.66s

2012 injury? I'm still sticking to that date.

Speaker 2369.42s - 370.34s

Something happened there

Speaker 3370.34s - 375.82s

because that was against Tampa GPE. He was trying to steal a base. All right.

Speaker 0376s - 377.66s

Jalbisbury PERSON injury history.

Speaker 2377.84s - 378.22s

Let's see.

Speaker 0379.22s - 380.6s

Is this going to allow me to see it?

Speaker 2380.6s - 381.4s

That's a long one.

Speaker 0382.04s - 382.36s

Yeah.

Speaker 2386.18s - 386.54s

Fan graphs. See if a long one. Yeah. Fan graphs.

Speaker 0387.16s - 388.66s

See if this is actually a thing.

Speaker 3389.6s - 400.04s

I just want a list, but no one in their right mind would ever take time out of their day to audit Jacobi Ellsbury's PERSON injuries.

Speaker 0400.36s - 403.36s

Because 2011, Jacobi Ellsbury PERSON.

Speaker 3403.64s - 413.98s

All right, here we go. While sliding into second base to break up a double play Tampa Bay GPE shortstop, Reed Brignac PERSON. What a name.Remember Reed Brignac PERSON?

Speaker 0414.08s - 424.32s

I forgot about him. That is a throwback. Fell on his shoulder causing a partial dislocation. It was April 13th, 2012.I was off by one day. Again, you were off by a day.

Speaker 3424.4s - 437.14s

One day. There you go. Split the middle. Yeah. Well, because Ellsbury, I don't by one day. Again, you were off by a day. One day. There you go. Split the middle. Yeah. Well, because Ellsbury PERSON, I don't know how we got on a whole tangent here about Ellsbury. Ellsbury sandwiched those two years with his 2011.What do you finish second in MVP WORK_OF_ART voting?

Speaker 0438.16s - 438.9s

Didn't he win?

Speaker 3439.14s - 441.58s

No, he finished either second or third.

Speaker 0441.58s - 444.9s

I'm trying to, I think Miggy won that year or maybe not.

Speaker 3445.04s - 451.4s

I don't know. These years get blurry. The more baseball years, the more things get a little blurry in the past.

Speaker 0451.4s - 467.38s

You know, it's funny. I was having a conversation with my coworkers a couple days ago. Last week. And we were talking about Josh Hamilton PERSON. And I was, one of them was arguing that his home run derby was in like 2012 well he was on

Speaker 3467.38s - 474.3s

Texas ORG and I was like absolutely not oh nine it was oh oh eight oh eight oh eight oh eight it was

Speaker 0474.3s - 479.46s

oh eight and I was like it was at old Yankee stadium and he hit you know 30 home runs in the

Speaker 2479.46s - 486.08s

first round like he was playing for Texas ORG dude yeah, yeah, he had quite dear.

Speaker 3486.22s - 491.04s

Oh, it was Justin Verlander who won the MVP in 2011.

Speaker 2491.74s - 492.16s

The hell?

Speaker 0492.56s - 492.84s

Yeah.

Speaker 3494.22s - 499.74s

Verlander, Ellsbury, Batista, Curtis Granderson, and Miguel Cabrera PERSON.

Speaker 0500.24s - 501.84s

The Gandhi Man came in fourth.

Speaker 3502.04s - 505.32s

I'm telling you, I mentioned this a couple or I guess months ago.

Speaker 0505.48s - 507.48s

Now, Curtis Granderson PERSON had a sneaky good career.

Speaker 3507.92s - 511.72s

I think he could have the possibility getting a few Hall of Fame boats this year.

Speaker 0511.72s - 515.68s

I think he cracks like he's at like 5.1%.

Speaker 3515.68s - 517.84s

I think there's a chance he stays on the belt.

Speaker 0518.02s - 519.78s

That's just my, it's my hot take for the day.

Speaker 3519.86s - 530.5s

It's my hot take for the day. I did look up confirmed it is a cartilage issue for Kossis PERSON. Isn't the ribs, though? Yep. Yeah, I'll take partial credit on the... No ribs were fractured.

Speaker 0530.68s - 531.26s

On that one.

Speaker 3531.46s - 533.38s

But Casas PERSON is going to be out for a while.

Speaker 0533.5s - 535.42s

You hope this is obviously not an injury,

Speaker 3535.6s - 559.8s

which is going to derail him for the rest of the year. But I was going to say the Red Sox bringing in reinforcements on the first base side of the ball, acquiring Garrett Cooper in a trade, a separate trade. Dom Smith PERSON, the Smith PERSON was released and they picked him up. Cooper came over from the Cubs ORG. Smith was from Tampa GPE, correct?Believe so.

Speaker 0560.62s - 561.42s

I believe it was Tampa GPE.

Speaker 3562.42s - 563.64s

Either Tampa or Washington ORG.

Speaker 0564.38s - 568.24s

The last I remember seeing Dom Smith on a baseball field, he was on the Mets ORG.

Speaker 3569.14s - 591s

Yeah, I was going to say, Dom Smith, his glory days were with the Mets ORG. When was he on the Mets ORG? It can't be that long ago. So it was a Tampa Bay race who he was released by, but he was with the Nationals last year. Sounds right.

Speaker 0592.68s - 593.48s

Neither guy.

Speaker 3593.48s - 593.84s

It sucks.

Speaker 0593.96s - 595.48s

Five games. What?

Speaker 3597.14s - 598.82s

Five games for the socks so far.

Speaker 0599.24s - 599.48s

Yeah.

Speaker 3599.58s - 603.28s

Which would have been zero except Cooper got hurt on his first game.

Speaker 0603.52s - 603.68s

Yeah.

Speaker 3603.68s - 649.94s

I was going to say that first game against San Fran ORG. That was last Tuesday, he got hurt. He got nailed with a pitch. It was kind of right in between his wrist and his forearm. And yeah, not great. Bobby lived to see another day.And I was actually at that game. And when Bobby came in, there was this huge section of guys, I would say like two to three years younger than us. They were in a loge box like behind the first base dugout kind of near first base. And they got the whole section in on a Bobby Dalbeck chant. And he was, he was eating it up. He was throwing balls at them uh after every halfinning and and you can you can feel the love for Bob still in Boston GPE I mean it's it's palpable

Speaker 0649.94s - 655.98s

it's still there people love Bob they want Bob to work out but he's just a Worcester GPE kid at heart

Speaker 3655.98s - 664.32s

you know who else was a Worcester kid at heart brusneh Rusne Castillo PERSON uh folks I would I'm gonna

Speaker 0664.32s - 666.84s

I'm gonna say this on the show to hold myself accountable here, but

Speaker 3666.84s - 672.08s

this week we're going to get some Castillo and Dalbeck PERSON partners at law shirts out there.

Speaker 0672.48s - 675.32s

We got to get them out. I'm dying to wear them.

Speaker 3676s - 696.4s

I think they're going to look pretty sweet. We will post something on our Instagram and Twitter ORG if you would be interested in buying those. But try to remember what episode we talked about, the old partnership at the law firm in Worcester, Massachusetts. But Dalbeck and Castillo PERSON are your friends.Damage attorneys.

Speaker 0697.32s - 697.74s

Damn right.

Speaker 3699.26s - 751.08s

Anyways. Yeah, you mentioned Dom Smith PERSON. He's played in five games so far for the Red Sox ORG. Hasn't done much. He's got four hits and 20 at bats. It's a 200 batting average. If you're keeping track, one of those double. And then, yeah, as Clauston mentioned, Gary Cooper, he got hurt in that first game with the Red Sox ORG. And he's also played in five games. He's done nothing. One hit in 16 at bats. He's got two walks, five strikeouts, and I got to say.I was honestly a little surprised they went with both guys. I know Bobby's been struggling, but I'd rather have, I guess, I know, I guess Smith PERSON hits left-handed, but I don't know. I would have stuck with Bobby PERSON. I want Bob PERSON, too.

Speaker 0751.18s - 753.12s

He's got to almost be out of options at this point.

Speaker 3753.94s - 763.5s

This is, I believe, his last, this would be his last year, I think. In fact, I'm honestly surprised that he still has them for this year. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 0763.5s - 769.12s

He's been doing this dance between Boston and Worcester GPE for what,

Speaker 3769.22s - 786.9s

two years now? Yeah. So I don't, I don't know if 20, because I'm trying to remember in 2020, I don't think they ever sent him back down after they called him up. And that, the rules might have been also kind of different that year with like the COVID year. Because remember, it was like a taxi squad and they could keep a certain. Yeah.

Speaker 0786.98s - 787.66s

Like number of guys.

Speaker 3787.76s - 808.54s

But he's been sent down in 22, 23 and now 24 and they only get three options. So I would think, well, I mean, I know for a fact, this is his last year of options. So we're either going to see a happy ending where Bobby Dolbex PERSON sits around for the time being. But I think I think the other is is a little more, more possible.

Speaker 0809.46s - 814.78s

You think he, uh, you think he has his main stay in Worcester or Boston GPE? I think Boston GPE.

Speaker 3815.04s - 821.06s

In fact, I, yeah. And I know, I know he has a place in Boston GPE. I actually do know that for a fact.

Speaker 0821.68s - 822.94s

How do you know he has a place in Boston GPE?

Speaker 3823.9s - 825.12s

I got, I got connections.

Speaker 0826.04s - 827.36s

Been to Bobby D's PERSON place?

Speaker 3827.54s - 839.42s

No, I've not been, I've not been, but I do know he has, I know he has an apartment in the, in the city.I would think he's got probably a place in Worcester GPE, too. You'd think?

Speaker 0839.72s - 841.32s

I mean, he spends enough time down there.

Speaker 3841.54s - 847.94s

You think the Red Sox ORG, like, will finance that for, for a guy like that? They're like, you know, no. I mean, they're paying.No.

Speaker 0848.08s - 854.98s

I mean, they won't spend any other money. So why would they spend it on a apartment in Worcester for Bobby Dalbeck?

Speaker 3855.04s - 882.84s

That's honestly a good question. And I would love, we've been working hard. Well, not really recently. But towards the beginning of the season, we're trying to get a few guests on. But that's actually a great question is from like a financial standpoint, if you're a player who bounces up between the MLB and AAA ORG,where do you buy a house or apartment and do you have two? I guess to think, I mean,

Speaker 0883.42s - 890.18s

worst case for Boston, he's got to commute to Worcester every day,

Speaker 3890.64s - 892.18s

like the regular working man.

Speaker 0893.18s - 895.92s

But you think Bobby PERSON's sitting on the highway?

Speaker 3895.92s - 899.06s

I don't think so either, but he's taking a commuter rail.

Speaker 0899.52s - 899.72s

Yeah.

Speaker 3900.56s - 902.76s

Him and Davis Clark locked in in the morning.

Speaker 0903.26s - 917.86s

Yeah, right? Can you imagine your, I guess it would be the the reverse commute but can you imagine like getting on the train on you know Monday morning you're going from Boston South Station all the way to Worcester GPE you just get on the train and

Speaker 3917.86s - 929.42s

there's Bobby Dalbeck sitting on the train I I could see it you think he's got like like when you played baseball when you're like 12 years old the little backpack with like the bat holes yeah and he can you know slide. You think he's got like, like when you played baseball when you're like 12 years old, the little backpack with like the bat holes and he can, you know, slide those in.

Speaker 0929.72s - 935.28s

I think he's bringing his bats back every night from Boston to Worcester GPE. No doubt. No doubt.

Speaker 3935.44s - 939.64s

I would think so. You know, he's got like the little pouch in the front with the helmet.

Speaker 0939.84s - 944s

It would kind of pop out a little bit. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. He's got his cleats stuffed in there. Yeah.

Speaker 3944.34s - 944.58s

Yeah.

Speaker 0944.66s - 946.28s

I think he comes home.

Speaker 3946.82s - 949.22s

Mom washes his pants, jersey.

Speaker 0950.06s - 953.72s

Good to go for the morning. Got to use the oxy clean to get all the dirt out.

Speaker 3953.9s - 956.46s

Yep. Yep. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 0956.66s - 970.28s

I think it's quite possible. What was I going to say about Bob PERSON? Oh, my, I don't think, I don't really know what they do about moving back and forth because think about it like with Toronto, their triple A is Buffalo ORG. Yeah.

Speaker 3970.76s - 975.38s

Yeah, you think Kawasaki ORG might have been busy crossing the border back in like probably.

Speaker 0976s - 983.52s

But I'm thinking like Boston of Worcester is probably the easiest of the commutes when you think about AAA ORG to the majors.

Speaker 3984s - 993.34s

Yeah, that's actually a good question. Which AAA team and MLB ORG team are the closest to each other? It's got to be the socks, right?

Speaker 0993.5s - 997.68s

I mean, we're talking like 40 miles apart.

Speaker 3997.88s - 998.96s

I would think they're up there.

Speaker 1999.36s - 1000.4s

I would think they're up there.

Speaker 01001.82s - 1004.24s

Trying to think of like, where's the Yankees AAA ORG?

Speaker 31004.24s - 1005.82s

I was going to say, are they Trenton GPE?

Speaker 01006.32s - 1006.98s

They're Trenton GPE.

Speaker 31007.54s - 1011.04s

So I guess you could hop, well, that's kind of like central Jersey GPE.

Speaker 01012.38s - 1012.72s

Yeah.

Speaker 31013.26s - 1015.5s

If you're in northern Jersey GPE, you can just hop the border.

Speaker 01015.82s - 1018.5s

What about Norfolk to Baltimore?

Speaker 31019.18s - 1020.18s

I feel like that's pretty close.

Speaker 01020.64s - 1021.38s

That is pretty close.

Speaker 31021.44s - 1023.08s

But we're talking same state here.

Speaker 01023.5s - 1023.78s

True.

Speaker 31023.78s - 1039.6s

But I mean, Worcester to Boston GPE, I mean, you're still talking like an hour 15 drive. This has got to be a Googlable answer, and I'm sure there's someone listening to this right now knows the answer. I'm trying to think.I know.

Speaker 01039.6s - 1051.22s

See how far. So let's say he has a place right outside of Polar Park FAC. The Mets ORG.

Speaker 31051.3s - 1055.44s

The Mets' AAA team used to be in Vegas GPE. That might be the furthest.

Speaker 01055.88s - 1057.44s

Yeah, that's got a, that's a tough one.

Speaker 31057.74s - 1068.7s

Oh, and the Dodgers are in Tulsa, Oklahoma GPE. Another word one. Actually, both their triple and double A teams are in Oklahoma GPE. They have the OKC drillers, no, Tulsa drillers and OKC Dodgers ORG.

Speaker 01068.98s - 1073s

We're looking at a 51-minute drive actively. Okay.

Speaker 31073.54s - 1074.86s

44 and a half miles.

Speaker 01075.28s - 1076.62s

Okay, see if we should look it the other way.

Speaker 31077.78s - 1080.96s

Yeah, even quicker going into Boston right now, 48 minutes.

Speaker 01083.06s - 1083.64s

All right.

Speaker 31084.44s - 1085.52s

That's not bad. That's not bad.

Speaker 01086.06s - 1086.86s

That's not bad at all.

Speaker 31088.64s - 1105.38s

Which teams have the closest minor league affiliates? When Reddit's your first list to pop up, this is going to be a difficult question to find the answer to.

Speaker 01108.38s - 1111.48s

All right. Reading GPE, Pennsylvania GPE. I was going to say,

Speaker 31111.54s - 1131.56s

my top candidates right now are, actually St. Paul, Minnesota GPE has the St. Paul Saints, the Minnesota TwinsMinor League team. That's got to be close. Lawrenceville GPE, Georgia for the Braves ORG. I got to think is close. Columbus, Ohio to Cleveland GPE.That's probably about like two hours.

Speaker 01131.86s - 1137.16s

That's far. All right. So Redding to sit it to the bank is 67 miles.

Speaker 31137.88s - 1163.16s

Okay. Could you do, could you do, um, what was I going to say here? St. Paul, Minnesota to Minneapolis GPE, because I'm pretty sure it's the Twin Cities GPE for a reason, right? They're very, very close together. It's target field still, right? Yep. Oh.

Speaker 11163.84s - 1164.66s

What do we got?

Speaker 31165.3s - 1166.18s

13 miles. 13 miles.

Speaker 11167.28s - 1169.54s

I got to think that's your winner.

Speaker 31171.08s - 1172.32s

You can't get much closer than that.

Speaker 01172.38s - 1174.48s

I got to think the Minnesota Twins ORG are your winner.

Speaker 31174.64s - 1176.46s

I mean, I'm going up and down the list here.

Speaker 01176.58s - 1177.2s

I can't.

Speaker 31177.2s - 1178.46s

What about my last one?

Speaker 01178.5s - 1180.46s

I'm just curious, Norfolk to Baltimore.

Speaker 31188.24s - 1188.82s

What,

Speaker 01188.82s - 1189.68s

what feel am I doing?

Speaker 31191.52s - 1196.56s

You are doing Nationals Park FAC?

Speaker 01196.86s - 1197s

Yeah,

Speaker 31197.12s - 1208.3s

oh, no, sorry, Camden GPE. Oh, duh. 232 miles.

Speaker 01209.58s - 1209.92s

No, not even close.

Speaker 31210.1s - 1210.16s

Yeah,

Speaker 01210.76s - 1212.48s

not close at all. All right. All right.

Speaker 31212.6s - 1220.88s

Well, there you go. Congrats to the Minnesota Twins ORG on winning. You're the closest, closest affiliate.

Speaker 01221.68s - 1223.38s

Coss got to be like top three.

Speaker 31223.54s - 1225.36s

I got to think they're definitely up there.

Speaker 01225.48s - 1225.98s

Definitely up there.

Speaker 31226.06s - 1247.82s

Yeah. Swinging it back to the socks, though. A couple more injuries to run over. Isaiah Campbell, he had a couple stinker of performances early on in that Red Sox first homestand. They threw him on the 10-day IL with a, was it shoulder impingement? Yeah, his shoulder was, was bothering him.

Speaker 01247.82s - 1248.68s

Something was going on.

Speaker 31248.8s - 1261.36s

He is still not returned, which is, which is too bad. I had, again, I'm not ruling it out. It was like two really bad performances. He was involved in that, uh, that 5-0 blown lead in the second Red Sox home game of the year.

Speaker 01261.64s - 1266.62s

But he's been out for, we're nearing, if not over a month now.

Speaker 21267.48s - 1268.44s

And then, yeah,

Speaker 01268.54s - 1269.92s

Raphael Devers, Tyler O'Neill PERSON,

Speaker 31270s - 1369.06s

have both missed time with nagging injuries. Devers PERSON, it was his hamstring. And then O'Neill had that collision. He's back. He's good.Tyler He was pulled up. He was the last guy in the 40-man roster who was a hitter, who was not up on the active roster. He has since gone on the injured list since our last episode. Brian Beyo, he's going to start on Sunday, but he's been out with a lat injury. He's been out for about two weeks.Rob Refsnider PERSON returned from the injured list. He is day-to-day with a hamstring injury. He's been tearing it up since he's been back. Romy Gonzalez PERSON got called up. Made his Red Sox debut, played, I think, in two games, then went on the I.L. Garrett Whitlock has been out for about a month. He's throwing live BP on Friday. He's been out with an oblique injury. Nick Povetta returned tonight after he was out a month. And last but not least, Masitaka Yoshita PERSON, who we'll talk about for a little bit, although the situation isn't as pertinent as it was, was almost benched for a little bit, I mean, basically was benched for a little bit, held out of the lineup, and then comes back, plays two games, goes out with a hand injury. I saw an article Katio wrote today about they have no idea what's going on with his left thumb and could be out for a while. So there's your laundry list. Again, some of these are more recent than others. Just want to catch everyone up on the happenings, who's in, who's out.But this has been probably the most banged up April like you know first six weeks of the season that I can remember

Speaker 01369.06s - 1377.28s

I mean we're looking at every starter except for Kossus right well no

Speaker 31377.28s - 1378.98s

Kossus PERSON is not Kassas Duran

Speaker 01378.98s - 1379.5s

sorry

Speaker 21379.5s - 1380.82s

I believe so

Speaker 01380.82s - 1383.12s

because O'Neil PERSON's been hurt

Speaker 31383.12s - 1384.12s

Rough side has been hurt

Speaker 01384.12s - 1386.18s

both the catchers have been have been hurt. Ref slide has been hurt. Both the catchers have been good.

Speaker 31387.48s - 1389.28s

Yeah, Wong PERSON hasn't gotten hurt, thankfully.

Speaker 01390.08s - 1391.4s

But Dahlbeck PERSON?

Speaker 31391.88s - 1396.6s

Yeah. Not Dahlbeck PERSON. Jesus. You've had every end fielder. Every infielder. Grissom PERSON.

Speaker 01397.12s - 1399.8s

Grissom PERSON's back too. Forgot to mention Von Grissom PERSON.

Speaker 31400.8s - 1418.22s

Story, Devers PERSON. Yoshita PERSON. Well, Yoshita PERSON was DH and then O'Neill and Duran PERSON's been healthyand then Sadan he's he's been healthy too so two starters

Speaker 01418.22s - 1419.36s

four guys

Speaker 31419.36s - 1421.24s

yeah I guess you're two starters

Speaker 01421.24s - 1427.62s

your catchers say Don PERSON and Duran are the only guys who have not gone down and then with your starting rotation, you've lost obviously

Speaker 31427.62s - 1439.14s

Gioito PERSON in the spring training. And then you've lost Pavetta PERSON, who's back now, you've lost Whitlock PERSON, you've lost Beow PERSON.Am I forgetting anyone?

Speaker 21439.38s - 1439.64s

I mean,

Speaker 01439.72s - 1443.64s

damn. Does Gialito PERSON have a player option? Yeah.

Speaker 31444.14s - 1444.36s

Yeah,

Speaker 01444.46s - 1460.78s

he's most certainly going to be opting into that. I was Yeah, yeah, he's I didn't know if it was player I was certainly going to be opting into that. I was going to say, there's a chance if it was a mutual option that he never steps footBoston Red Sock ORG.

Speaker 31461.18s - 1503.08s

No, I believe it is a player option for 2025, I think around $12 million. So I assume we'll see Giolyto next year. I will say, though, moving on from the injuries just for a second, the two starters who have been healthy, Cutter Crawford and Tanner Halk, have been two of the best starters in the MLB ORG,and it's been such a bright spot to see the two of them really taking those strides to the next level, which I don't know if those could have been made with Dave Bushcloss PERSON. I mean, you sent me something earlier, and me and Steve something earlier about Kenley PERSON,

Speaker 11504.18s - 1519.96s

getting fixed up after his rough start. I mean, we talked about it early on, like the first week or two, but this Andrew Bailey PERSON, you know, whatever he's given the pitchers advice, it's working well.

Speaker 31520.06s - 1527.74s

I mean, we've seen guys even like Cooper Chris PERSON well who have had to slide in to the rotation. He's pitched really well too. He just gets it.

Speaker 01527.9s - 1541.2s

And Dave Bush PERSON just didn't. I think it was a matter. Well, it's a matter of Dave Bush wanted every pitcher to just throw fastballs 60% of the time. And when you're not good at throwing fastballs, you're going to get tossed around.

Speaker 11543.2s - 1548.98s

I just, I don't think that he was a good, uh, I'll stand on this hill that Dave

Speaker 01548.98s - 1550.54s

Bush had no idea what he was doing.

Speaker 11551.78s - 1554.94s

I mean, I, I don't, I don't think it's a bad hill to stand on.

Speaker 01554.94s - 1559.08s

I mean, you go, you go up and down the roster right now.

Speaker 31559.08s - 1589.86s

And I mean, basically everybody's pitching well, uh, who's, who's been a regular on this team. And yeah, I mean, basically everybody's pitching well, who's been a regular on this team. And yeah, I mean, again, you've had spot starts from, you know, Winkowski's made three starts, Bernardino's made two, Chase Anderson has made one as well. You've had guys fill in here and there, but there hasn't been a performance so horrific. Like, the giving socks this year, knock on wood, like a pretty short list so far.

Speaker 01590.4s - 1594.08s

I think it's just one. I think it's just Jolie PERSON. Yeah.

Speaker 31594.2s - 1594.68s

Let me see.

Speaker 01595.74s - 1598.08s

Jolie was DFA'd last week.

Speaker 31598.08s - 1598.7s

Thank God PERSON.

Speaker 01599s - 1599.74s

See you later.

Speaker 31599.9s - 1606.72s

Thank God PERSON. Florida Panthers just scored with 0.3 seconds left in the second period. They're up 3 to 1. Yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 21606.8s - 1617.66s

Going into the third looking like it's going to be 1-1 coming back to Boston GPE. Yeah, Jolie PERSON got DFA'd. Pablo Reyes got DFAed. They both, no one wanted them. So they're down in Worcester GPE.

Speaker 01617.66s - 1619.32s

I don't blame anyone for not taking Jolie PERSON.

Speaker 31620.22s - 1622.94s

Can I ask you a question? Yeah.

Speaker 01623.88s - 1626s

I don't, you're on Twitter a fair bit.

Speaker 31626.8s - 1664.52s

All the time. Okay, fair, same. Did, I felt like the, there was a lot of, a lot of like, no, not Pablo Reyes, way more than I thought there should have been. Like, I was like, we're talking about a guy who they picked up last year because there were so many injuries and positional needs. And wasn't very good. He had one good moment.I feel like, you know, sometimes fans just get attached to certain players. But I was surprised the amount of sadness there was to see Pablo Reyes DFA'd.

Speaker 01665.52s - 1672.72s

I think everyone's just hung up on that one grand slammy hit. Yeah. Like a year ago.

Speaker 31673.56s - 1686.8s

No one's forgotten it. You talk about one hit wonder. It's like, I mean, we're talking like Carly Ray Jemson, 2015. You see she's falling off. You're like, not the call, not the call me, maybe.Yeah.

Speaker 01686.9s - 1687.08s

I mean,

Speaker 31687.08s - 1690.7s

this is, it's like a, uh, hasn't done anything since. No.

Speaker 01691.12s - 1691.58s

What I mean,

Speaker 31691.58s - 1694.52s

speaking of, I mean, Carly Ray Jemson PERSON, or Jepson PERSON, Jepson PERSON.

Speaker 01695.32s - 1696.38s

Jepson PERSON.

Speaker 31696.38s - 1707.24s

Jepson PERSON. Could you name a second song? She had a, good time. Was it good time? Good life.Well, you know, it's, it's always a good time i think she

Speaker 01707.24s - 1712.64s

i don't think that's her song i thought she was totally she has like bleached blonde hair now really

Speaker 31712.64s - 1718.66s

i mean call me maybe was speaking jacobby elsberry PERSON injury that was that was right around the time

Speaker 01718.66s - 1725.16s

called me maybe did sing good time she did see see all. I really like you. That's another one.

Speaker 31726.36s - 1727.42s

Oh, okay.

Speaker 01728.76s - 1732.14s

If you came into this episode thinking there was going to be a Jacoby Ellsbury

Speaker 31732.14s - 1736.82s

Times Carly Ray Jepson PERSON crossover, I mean, you'd be correct.

Speaker 01737.18s - 1739.6s

If you put a dollar on that, you're cashing out tonight.

Speaker 31739.92s - 1744.52s

Cash now big. Cash now big. I mean, yeah, yeah, that was right around the time. Call me,

Speaker 01744.52s - 1747.26s

call me maybe was getting big. Cash now big. I mean, yeah, yeah, that was right around the time. Call me, call me maybe was getting big.

Speaker 31749.26s - 1752s

But not to trash Carly Ray Jepson PERSON.

Speaker 01753.24s - 1754.88s

Yeah, some people just have two hit wonders.

Speaker 31755.18s - 1757.24s

You and I are combined for Z.

Speaker 01757.78s - 1759.9s

I got no hits.

Speaker 31760.3s - 1761.06s

No hits.

Speaker 01762.86s - 1763.34s

None.

Speaker 31764.34s - 1765.06s

No hits None No hits

Speaker 01765.06s - 1766.76s

Speaking of hits

Speaker 31766.76s - 1768.8s

Wow

Speaker 01768.8s - 1769.52s

What a segue

Speaker 31769.52s - 1770.68s

Speaking of hits

Speaker 01770.68s - 1772.02s

We have another person to add on to

Speaker 21772.02s - 1773.66s

We have another person to add

Speaker 01773.66s - 1774.44s

To the giving socks

Speaker 21774.44s - 1781.24s

Yes we do Do we do Nick Pavetta Nick Pavetta Yeah that's right

Speaker 01781.24s - 1784.64s

He did just Four earned five Wait four innings five earned today

Speaker 21784.64s - 1785.64s

One strikeout.

Speaker 01786s - 1793.18s

That'll do it. Yeah, that's not good. Our counterpart, Chris Sale, threw an absolute gem today. Is he still in the game?

Speaker 31793.62s - 1794.7s

No, they just pulled him.

Speaker 01794.7s - 1799.12s

But six innings, no earned, whopping ten strikeouts.

Speaker 31799.38s - 1801.12s

You knew that was going to happen, didn't you?

Speaker 01801.12s - 1803.66s

Yeah, he came out for blood today. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 31804.38s - 1830.66s

The thing is, is that there's no, there's no, it pains me to say. There's no world where it's like, that is one trade where I can't be like hindsight's 50, 50. Like, I think a change of scenery was, was the right move for Chris Sale PERSON. And I mean, it's paying off. He's still good. But I do think it was just time for a change of scenery.

Speaker 01831.28s - 1834.14s

Yeah, you couldn't keep him. In good faith, you really couldn't keep him.

Speaker 31834.44s - 1835.64s

He wasn't going to perform.

Speaker 01835.94s - 1837.74s

I was going to say, I don't mean to trash on him.

Speaker 31837.74s - 1840.82s

But I don't think he would have been doing the same numbers.

Speaker 01841.24s - 1850.62s

Not at all. But not put Atlanta. And I'm happy for him. He's got a real chance at another world series in Atlanta. 100%.

Speaker 31850.62s - 1874.94s

Like there are very few Red Sox players these last couple years. Not very few, but there, there are a select handful who have gone on either through a trade or free agency to play for other teams where you're really rooting for them. And I think that Chris Sale PERSON is probably at the top of that list for me of guys.I want to see succeed. Definitely. He's only got a few years left.

Speaker 01875.24s - 1879.44s

Him and DeGrauma PERSON, I'd like to see get another one.

Speaker 31879.68s - 1896s

That'd be cool. That'd be cool. Like, just the game is better when everyone's healthy. And I mean, there are so many pitchers who just league-wide are hurt right now. I mean, I even, not to be that guy, you can't almost forget about DeGrom PERSON. He's just been hurt so much.

Speaker 01896.72s - 1899.8s

And he's arguably the best pitcher in the last, what, decade?

Speaker 31902.8s - 1904.64s

Scherzer PERSON probably because he's pitched more.

Speaker 01904.64s - 1906.8s

But when he's on the field

Speaker 31906.8s - 1918.76s

I think if you take away sample size I think you can make a good good case for for de Grom I mean he's he's been filthy what year was that 2018 2020 he had like a

Speaker 01918.76s - 1921.92s

how like 0.05 ERA

Speaker 31921.92s - 1927.72s

Yeah 2021 15 starts a 108 ERA.

Speaker 01928.82s - 1930.56s

Yeah, he was outrageous.

Speaker 31931.36s - 1932.22s

He's been really good.

Speaker 01932.3s - 1936.54s

He's never had an ERA in a season over 3.53.

Speaker 31937.84s - 1938.92s

It's pretty outrageous.

Speaker 01939.92s - 1941.74s

You think we could see him in the Hall of Fame ORG?

Speaker 31942.28s - 1943.64s

No, he hasn't played enough.

Speaker 01943.74s - 1944.58s

He's like Tim Wincombe PERSON.

Speaker 31946.64s - 1951.6s

He's already, he's going to be, by the time the pitch is again, he's going to be 36.

Speaker 01952.26s - 1957.72s

He's not making the hall. I don't, I, I'd love him to, but he just doesn't do it enough.

Speaker 31957.96s - 1964.54s

I agree. It's the same with Linthacom PRODUCT. I guess Linzacom PRODUCT fell off harder, but I don't know.

Speaker 01965.22s - 1969.48s

I did see a, I was reminded on Twitter.

Speaker 11970.06s - 1971.92s

I believe it was last night or this morning.

Speaker 01972.48s - 1978.2s

It was the video of Matt Harvey PERSON and when he's starting the game with the bloody nose

Speaker 11978.2s - 1979.8s

and the huge dip lip in.

Speaker 01980.52s - 1981.5s

What year was that?

Speaker 21982.12s - 1982.38s

Huh?

Speaker 01982.68s - 1983.54s

What year was that?

Speaker 21983.98s - 1986.04s

It must have been at least 10 years ago now.

Speaker 31986.94s - 1988.24s

He came onto the scene.

Speaker 21988.48s - 1990.62s

This is quite the nostalgic episode.

Speaker 01991.38s - 1993.72s

He came onto the scene hard in 2013.

Speaker 31994.6s - 1995.54s

Yeah, here we go.

Speaker 01996.14s - 2025.14s

5-7-20. So this was yesterday. 5-7-2013, so 11 years ago. Starting his night with a bloody nose, Matt Harvey carries a perfect game into the seventh inning, allows one hit in nine innings, strikes at 12 White Sox ORG, and lowers his ERA to 128 on the season. And someone quote tweeted it, bipolar Mets ORG disorder, tweeted, quote tweeted, fat dip in bloody noseand nine scoreless innings. Prime Matt Harvey PERSON was that guy. He sure was. He was that guy. He sure was.

Speaker 32025.5s - 2026.26s

He was that guy.

Speaker 02026.4s - 2027.04s

He sure was.

Speaker 32027.26s - 2028.84s

He was fun to watch.

Speaker 02028.84s - 2029.32s

He was fun to watch.

Speaker 32029.32s - 2031.22s

The video is hilarious, too.

Speaker 02031.28s - 2034.7s

He's not even fixing the bloody nose. He's just letting it bleed right down to space.

Speaker 12035.34s - 2035.52s

Yeah.

Speaker 32036.22s - 2037.22s

It's not even dripping.

Speaker 02037.36s - 2043.12s

It's just like running down his nose. He's like sucking it into his mouth. Oh. Jeez.

Speaker 32044.1s - 2045s

What a psychopath. He was crazy. Yeah, mouth. Oh. Jeez. What a psychopath.

Speaker 02045.48s - 2046.42s

He was crazy.

Speaker 32046.58s - 2115.5s

Yeah, seriously. Anyways, in terms of injuries, I think we got all that wrapped up for the moment here. In terms of series, it's been win a few, lose a few. Again, going back to really, our last episode was after game. Oh, it would have been the night of the Tanner Halk PERSON, complete game shutout, which was absolute domination from Halk PERSON.That game was under two hours, and he threw under 100 pitches. The difference between Halk PERSON, I already kind of mentioned this, but just the difference between how this year and last year, he looks so much more confident on the mount. And as a viewer, I feel so much more confident in him. I mean, remember last year going into the third time through the rotation? You're like, I don't know what the hell is about to happen here, but you knew it wasn't going to be good. And his splits were awful after he'd faced the first eating guys. But, I mean, again, I think you can really contribute a lot of the change to Andrew Bailey PERSON.

Speaker 02116.5s - 2139.04s

And I think the big part of it is like, where do you gain your confidence? You gain confidence in pitching the pitches that you know are your best. And it seems like Bailey PERSON, at the very least least has leaned into what those guys are good at. So if you go out and you tell them to throw their off speed because they know they're good at it, you're going to have more confidence on the mound than if what you know you're throwing isn't your best stuff every time.

Speaker 32140.72s - 2194.2s

Yeah, he's been quite the leader. And yeah, I mean, again, it's just been a complete overhaul across the board. But 3-1 series lost to Cleveland GPE. And then they go out and sweep in Pittsburgh ORG, dominating performance. Second year in a row kind of for the Pirates or the Red Sox ORG faced them fairly early in the season. Last year they played them.I want to say it was like it was just about mid-April. And the Red Sox got swept at Fenway by Pittsburgh ORG. But my point is two straight hot starts for the pirates. And then they quickly collapse after the first 20 or so games. And I feel like this series was where they really started to crumble. They were already on the downturn then, but they're 17 and 21 now.And get your wins where you can.

Speaker 02194.66s - 2197.36s

I do believe they just called up Paul Skeens today.

Speaker 32197.54s - 2199.8s

I do believe you are correct.

Speaker 02200.2s - 2202.08s

So I think his first start is the 11th?

Speaker 32203.28s - 2213.16s

Yeah, Saturday or Sunday. I think they're start is the 11th? Yeah, Saturday or Sunday? I think they're playing the Cubs ORG. Happy to see him come up, though.

Speaker 02213.26s - 2215.64s

He was just, do you see his minor league stats?

Speaker 32216.1s - 2226.78s

Yeah, his ERA was what, like 0.97, or somewhere right around there. His whip was under one. He had like 60 strikeouts and 40 innings, something like that.

Speaker 02227.44s - 2238.52s

Yeah, he, 0.99 ERA, yep, 27 innings in seven games, 45 strikeouts and a 0.9 one whip. Yep.

Speaker 32238.88s - 2239.52s

That's pretty good.

Speaker 02240.32s - 2241.3s

Yeah, that's pretty damn good.

Speaker 32241.56s - 2242.02s

Pretty good.

Speaker 12242.78s - 2243.8s

Yeah, he's going to.

Speaker 32243.8s - 2244.9s

How many runs to this guy?

Speaker 12245.06s - 2246.62s

Four and runs in seven games. That sounds about Yeah, he's going to... How many runs to this guy? Four earned runs in seven games.

Speaker 32246.82s - 2247.56s

That sounds about right.

Speaker 02247.68s - 2250.6s

He's going to make quite the impact on that team.

Speaker 32250.72s - 2251.02s

Oh, wait.

Speaker 02251.1s - 2252.48s

Sorry, that's 2003.

Speaker 32253.26s - 2255.6s

He allowed three earned runs in seven games.

Speaker 02255.66s - 2256.24s

My apologies.

Speaker 32256.98s - 2281.32s

He's just playing around. It makes you realize... I mean, it's mad impressive that he's been... I mean, you forget, not forget, but he was drafted 11 months ago and he's already, he's already up in the bigs. And when was the last time the Red Sox had a guy just like rocket through the farm system? So Ben and Teddy PERSON. Yeah, he was up a little

Speaker 02281.32s - 2287.22s

over a year after being drafted. Yep. He made the double A to major jump.

Speaker 32287.3s - 2287.68s

He did.

Speaker 02287.94s - 2288.32s

He did.

Speaker 32288.48s - 2304.5s

I feel like we see players in AAA ORG, like top prospects more in AAA than we used to. I feel like it used to be, if you were a solid to top prospect, it was straight from AA ORG to the big leagues. I feel like we see that less often now.

Speaker 02305.16s - 2312.88s

Yeah, I think the jump from double A to major leagues is so large, and I think it's only getting larger. Major league players are so good.

Speaker 32313.62s - 2316.98s

I'm not against putting a guy in AAA for a couple months,

Speaker 02317.74s - 2318.6s

just to see how they do.

Speaker 32318.72s - 2322.18s

Like the whole Jackson Holiday experiment clearly failed in the majors,

Speaker 02322.56s - 2327.28s

bringing them up too fast. So send him down, let him get his confidence back, and he'll be fine.

Speaker 32327.88s - 2332.74s

Yeah, he did not play well. What do you have like two hits and 30 something at bets?

Speaker 02333.04s - 2334.52s

I think he was like one for 33.

Speaker 32334.84s - 2336.02s

Yeah, not good.

Speaker 02336.22s - 2336.66s

Not good.

Speaker 32336.78s - 2337.36s

Not good at all.

Speaker 02338.26s - 2340.18s

So yeah, anyways, a sweep against Pittsburgh ORG.

Speaker 32340.18s - 2344.86s

They come back home, a 2-1 series lost to the Cubs ORG.

Speaker 02345.24s - 2347.6s

We were at that game on Friday, the one they lost.

Speaker 32347.6s - 2351.22s

That was just such a forgettable game.

Speaker 02352.84s - 2353.96s

I'm trying to remember.

Speaker 32355.04s - 2364.64s

Cutter PERSON. Cutter PERSON started that one, didn't he? I'm looking at, not to sidetrack again.

Speaker 02364.7s - 2368.08s

I'm looking at this list of fastest all time to reach the majors.

Speaker 32368.66s - 2370.12s

Yep. So Paul Skeins isn't on this list.

Speaker 02370.2s - 2372.96s

Hold on. Can I take a guess? Yep.

Speaker 32374.22s - 2381.66s

I know. Is it Zach Nito PERSON? Is he on there? I don't see him.

Speaker 02381.96s - 2385.86s

Okay. Oh, yeah. He was 273 days. He's 18th. Okay. Oh, yeah, he was 273 days. He's 18th.

Speaker 32386.06s - 2393.14s

Okay. It's pretty quick. The Angels ORG had a guy they drafted the last year who was up on the team by the end of the year.

Speaker 02393.7s - 2398.38s

Yeah, 40 days. Noah PERSON, yeah. Shanual PERSON. Yeah, Chanel ORG.

Speaker 32399.06s - 2400s

Chanel ORG, same thing.

Speaker 02400.06s - 2403.86s

Something like that. But he's fifth. There's four guys ahead of him. You're only going to know one of them.

Speaker 32405.24s - 2407.56s

Ahrod? No. No, I guys ahead of him. You're only going to know one of them. A-Rod? No. No, I do.

Speaker 02407.56s - 2409.68s

Outfielder? Can Griffey?

Speaker 32410.22s - 2415.36s

No. Like, give me a time frame. Early 70s?

Speaker 02417.66s - 2418.94s

Uh, yes.

Speaker 32419.6s - 2419.98s

No.

Speaker 22420.7s - 2421.28s

Dave Winfield.

Speaker 32421.78s - 2423.2s

Yeah, wouldn't have gotten that.

Speaker 22423.4s - 2423.62s

Yeah.

Speaker 02424.28s - 2425.3s

Trying to see you also.

Speaker 32425.48s - 2427.34s

Ryan Zimmerman was 86 days.

Speaker 22427.56s - 2427.86s

Really?

Speaker 32427.98s - 2428.74s

Who was number one?

Speaker 22429.74s - 2435.02s

This guy, not like modern day, Dave Roberts PERSON, but 1970s, Dave Roberts.

Speaker 32435.18s - 2435.68s

One day.

Speaker 22436.82s - 2438.04s

Padres ORG called him right up.

Speaker 02438.94s - 2439.7s

That's crazy.

Speaker 32440.1s - 2443.86s

I'm honestly, I'm actually kind of surprised that we haven't seen.

Speaker 02444.56s - 2447.46s

I mean, uh, what was it? Shan PERSON, I'm actually kind of surprised that we haven't seen. I mean, what was it?

Speaker 32448.38s - 2474.5s

Shana. I forget how you pronounced them. The angels there. Shenwell PERSON, Chanel ORG. Yeah.Something like that. He, I mean, yeah, granted 40 days. But I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen.I think Skeens PERSON is about as, as close as you get to a guy going from college to being major league ready. But I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen someone just go straight to the bigs. I bet we'll see that in our lifetime.

Speaker 22474.94s - 2481.66s

I bet we'll no, you'll see it because I guess like it would have to be like a really bad team.

Speaker 02482.16s - 2486.86s

It would have to be like it's a weird mix

Speaker 22486.86s - 2488.22s

it would have to be like the angels

Speaker 02488.22s - 2495.38s

because you can't say the athletics because they don't care and you can't say the Rockies ORG because I don't think they care either

Speaker 32495.38s - 2497.54s

I don't even think you can you can debate

Speaker 02497.54s - 2499.96s

to the white socks because they're too inept

Speaker 32499.96s - 2502.3s

so I think it would have to be like the angels

Speaker 02502.3s - 2504.34s

and it would have to be a guy

Speaker 32504.34s - 2506.08s

like Paul Skeen PERSON's coming right out

Speaker 22506.08s - 2507.96s

Who's built like a major leaguer

Speaker 32507.96s - 2509.64s

And isn't 16 years old

Speaker 22509.64s - 2510.24s

Yeah

Speaker 02510.24s - 2512.06s

Yeah

Speaker 32512.06s - 2514.84s

He I mean yeah He's he's he How old is he 23?

Speaker 02515.48s - 2518.48s

He's 22 It's like

Speaker 32518.48s - 2521.08s

He's our age I think It's 21

Speaker 02521.08s - 2522s

21

Speaker 32522s - 2544.84s

All right There you go There you go Uh Anyway against that series In, or against Chicago, then a 17-0-0-0-1-2 win on Taco and Tequila-Fest night on the Saturday. And then one of the more notable moments from the last three weeks here, Tyler O'Neill walk-off on Sunday night baseball back on the 28th of April.

Speaker 02550.58s - 2558.26s

5-4-11 got to love it were you watching that game yeah did you see I was just remembering this interview thinking about that game um

Speaker 32558.26s - 2567.84s

with uh what's his monica a monaga and Well, yeah, he was like laughing half the time.

Speaker 02568.4s - 2571.32s

But I think, yeah, it's ravish in the booth.

Speaker 32571.62s - 2574.02s

And there were two outs and two strikes.

Speaker 02574.14s - 2576.48s

And he's like, all right, well, quick half-fitting.

Speaker 32576.64s - 2631.84s

We'll send it to a break here once this next out happens. And then we'll continue our interview with you. Is that okay? And he was like, yeah, that's fine. And then like immediately before he even answered, I was at Wardo Press ORG.He's like, actually, I've got one more question for you. Gives this, I don't even remember what the question was, but it was this long-ass question. It was not quick. And he's like, not even done asking it. And whoever was up at bat strikes out, end of the inning. And obviously,I don't, well, I don't know how well of English LANGUAGE, Amonika PERSON speaks, but then they got to go through the translator. He really is the whole question. Then Amonaga PERSON says it back to the translator. Then he says it back on air. And all this, while you can hear Ravich PERSON in the back, and he's like, oh, we're going to,and then he like kept going. He's like trying to send it to break. And yeah, that was just extremely like it was that was awkward that was an awkward uh awkward moment yeah not good poor timing

Speaker 02631.84s - 2637.78s

out of them yeah uh they got to do something about the mics oh my god those things are turned up

Speaker 32637.78s - 2644.84s

i mean the ump mic too oh he was it sounded like he was screaming blow your eardrums out there yeah

Speaker 02644.84s - 2647.26s

you uh you can i love the

Speaker 32647.26s - 2654.54s

i love when they juiced the bats yeah but because it's i mean there was the otani NORP home run

Speaker 02654.54s - 2660.5s

like a year or two ago where it sounded like a bomb went off yeah the was that was the santa maria

Speaker 32660.5s - 2665.96s

call actually i can't was it vascus? I think it was Vascusan PERSON.

Speaker 02666.04s - 2666.52s

Who was doing play?

Speaker 22666.52s - 2667.36s

Yeah, it was Vascusan PERSON.

Speaker 02669.6s - 2676.56s

But, yeah, the deadliest duo would be the ESPN ORG mics.

Speaker 22676.86s - 2685.8s

And sometimes, sometimes, not always, but sometimes the Nesson ORG camera guys, when there's like a fly ball, like pretty can of quark fly ball you would think that

Speaker 02685.8s - 2693.24s

thing's going like past the red seat nessen has gotten so bad this year honestly it's been

Speaker 32693.24s - 2700.84s

i i haven't been watching a ton of nests this year because i'm either yeah i'm either trying to go

Speaker 22700.84s - 2707.12s

to the games when they're at home and then on the road yeah i little bit. But yeah, they've been having issues here and there.

Speaker 32707.74s - 2710.5s

It's just like last night, the camera blacked out.

Speaker 22711.24s - 2714.64s

Opening day, there was the whole Tyler O'Neill PERSON home run.

Speaker 02714.86s - 2715.08s

Yeah.

Speaker 32715.08s - 2720.96s

And then, like, they've just had a slew of audio issues and, you know,

Speaker 02721.1s - 2724.68s

fly ball, you know, high fly balls that look like they're going on lands down.

Speaker 22725.86s - 2729.24s

Did you see, I don't know if you're watching, were you watching the,

Speaker 02729.24s - 2731.34s

the Rangers Hurricanes game last night?

Speaker 32731.7s - 2731.96s

No.

Speaker 02732.68s - 2735.74s

So there are like 30 seconds left in the third period.

Speaker 32735.86s - 2736.38s

Tie game.

Speaker 02736.5s - 2740.1s

I mean, I think the Rangers ORG were on a power play and they're, they're buzzing.

Speaker 32740.64s - 2744.16s

And the second game of the night, Dallas and Colorado GPE is starting up.

Speaker 02744.16s - 2746.38s

But you know, like when the first game's still going on

Speaker 32746.38s - 2748.84s

they'll put it on like ESPN News ORG or ESPNU

Speaker 12748.84s - 2751.66s

so 30 seconds left and

Speaker 32751.66s - 2768.94s

they cut they cut straight to the Dallas like Mike Monaco PERSON is actually doing it they do like the whole open and then they cut back and there's like 10 seconds left in the period and I'm like I can't even imagine like the control room must have been like freaking out that shit show like, I can't even imagine. Like the control room must have been like.Freaking out. That shit show in there. I can't. Panic.

Speaker 02769.48s - 2779.44s

Freaking out. Speaking of announcers. We had an Andrew Gardner moment during the, uh, the Dodgers, Marlins game yesterday.

Speaker 32779.7s - 2790.72s

Yeah. Greg PERSON. That might be the worst jinks of all time. I mean, you got to know the no, the no hitter jinx is a, or excuse me, like the announcer no hitter jinks. It's a real thing. It's a real thing.

Speaker 02790.72s - 2793.66s

Oh, yeah. You don't mess with that. Or shutouts.

Speaker 32793.66s - 2796.74s

That's like that's the, that's the first one in the book.

Speaker 02797.12s - 2798.46s

I, no hitter going on.

Speaker 32798.5s - 2799.22s

Don't talk about it.

Speaker 02799.3s - 2799.44s

Yeah.

Speaker 32799.6s - 2827.14s

When I like, again, I, I, 90% of the games I do are hockey. So the equivalent to that is a shutout. And yeah, again, it's not, it's certainly not as like prestigious as a, as a no hitter, but I feel as if you're still not supposed to be like, well, oh, this guy's got a shutout and five minutes left. Like that's still something I'm not going to say. You can, you can bring it up in other ways. You can bring it up in other ways, but you can't directly say this guy still has to shut it. It's like a no hitter.

Speaker 02827.84s - 2829.02s

It was just the funniest thing

Speaker 32829.02s - 2834.7s

because they're in the pregame and he's warming up. And he's like, all right, I forget the guy's name, but he's like, you know what?

Speaker 02835.14s - 2835.68s

Yamamoto PERSON's.

Speaker 32835.68s - 2837.64s

Yeah, Greg Amsinger at Hibb Network ORG.

Speaker 02838.9s - 2845.94s

He's going to throw no hitter today against the Marlins and the whole graphic flashes and then first pitch just gets taken deep. Yeah. They cut right to Joelins and the whole graphic flashes and then first pitch just gets taken deep.

Speaker 32846.24s - 2855.56s

Yeah. They cut right to Joe Davis and the Dodgers ORG crew. And yeah, he's given his last couple seconds of pregame talk and then jazz chisle.

Speaker 22856.44s - 2861.24s

Right, right over the wall. No hit or gone. First pitch of the game. Too funny. Yeah. Hilarious.

Speaker 32863.36s - 2903.28s

So yeah, 2-1 series winning against the hobbies. And then you got a week, day, hilarious. So yeah, 2-1 series winning against the Cubbies ORG. And then you got a weak day set against the Giants ORG. They end up winning the series 2 to 1. Good 4-0 win that first game. Cooper Chriswell PERSON was dealing. And that one hits all around. And then a 6 to 2 win on Wednesday, a three to one loss on Thursday. So I actually saw that the giants, they played at Fenway this year. I don't know if they had played at Fenway since 20, I want to say 2016, maybe one time since

Speaker 22903.28s - 2907.96s

them and then one one time before them, they had a trivia question.

Speaker 32907.96s - 2921.98s

It was like, before I want to say 2007, when was the last time the Giants played at Fenway Park? The last time the Giants played at Fenway Park?

Speaker 02924.6s - 2925.92s

Before 2007. What? Is this a fact? last time the Giants played at Fenway Park before 2007

Speaker 22925.92s - 2928.06s

what

Speaker 02928.06s - 2929.94s

is this a fact

Speaker 22929.94s - 2932.12s

yes yeah oh yeah go ahead and guess

Speaker 02932.12s - 2938.04s

2005

Speaker 22938.04s - 2939.68s

oh buddy

Speaker 02939.68s - 2941.58s

you got you got to go back further

Speaker 22941.58s - 2943.24s

1999

Speaker 02943.24s - 2944.98s

further

Speaker 12944.98s - 2947.36s

91 You got to go back further. 1999? Further.

Speaker 02947.98s - 2948.6s

91.

Speaker 22950.9s - 2951.82s

Way further.

Speaker 02953.02s - 2953.64s

Are you serious?

Speaker 32954.14s - 2969.02s

Yeah. Okay. So it was June 15th, 2007. The last time that I, the Giants ORG franchise. If that gives it away at all at all played at Fenway Park. Oh my God.

Speaker 02969.08s - 2976.16s

Yeah. No, I'm looking at it right now. This can't be right. 1910s. 1912. Jesus Christ PERSON.

Speaker 32976.16s - 2981.4s

Fresh off the sinking of the Titanic, the New York Giants come in for the 1912 World Series

Speaker 02981.4s - 3006.02s

against the Boston Red Sox ORG. That popped up on the board and I was like, that's crazy. Like I obviously interleague play used to not be a thing, but I often forget how recently of an addition it is. And, you know, now every team's playing every team every year, which I'm a big fan of. I like it. You get to see different teams because there's no reason you should go 95 years without seeing one team like

Speaker 33006.02s - 3013.4s

again two two major market teams that's outrageous right i thought that was crazy yeah how do you go

Speaker 03013.4s - 3020.54s

92 years i don't know just how the maybe maybe it's not the curse of the bambino maybe it was uh

Speaker 33021.3s - 3026.54s

they just hadn't played the giants i i mean it I mean, it was just, they win in 1912?

Speaker 03027.68s - 3029.3s

Uh, they did.

Speaker 33030.3s - 3030.9s

Hold on.

Speaker 03031.34s - 3032.12s

Did they, I be on to something?

Speaker 33032.42s - 3033s

Wait a second.

Speaker 03033.56s - 3035.16s

They tied a World Series EVENT game.

Speaker 23036.06s - 3037.1s

Are you seeing this?

Speaker 33037.44s - 3038.24s

Yeah, what the hell?

Speaker 23039s - 3040.44s

It went eight games.

Speaker 33041.36s - 3042.14s

One, two, three.

Speaker 23042.82s - 3043.54s

You're right.

Speaker 33044.16s - 3044.48s

Yeah.

Speaker 23044.78s - 3044.98s

All right.

Speaker 33044.98s - 3045s

So wait, hold on. We're right. What the hell? All right.

Speaker 23045s - 3045.86s

So wait, hold on.

Speaker 33045.9s - 3046.72s

We're on to something here.

Speaker 23048.1s - 3049.46s

Was this common knowledge?

Speaker 33049.56s - 3050.7s

I had no idea about this.

Speaker 23050.7s - 3051.06s

Wait, hold on.

Speaker 33051.12s - 3051.36s

All right.

Speaker 03051.56s - 3051.74s

Wait.

Speaker 33054.54s - 3063.16s

The Sox have played the Giants in 1912, 2004, 2007, and 2013.

Speaker 03064.12s - 3064.1s

Holy shit. 2007 and 2013.

Speaker 33064.86s - 3067.34s

Holy shit.

Speaker 03071.48s - 3071.78s

In their first five years worth of matchups,

Speaker 33074.14s - 3074.3s

they won a World Series in four of those years.

Speaker 03074.66s - 3075.56s

True.

Speaker 23078.52s - 3079.66s

And then 2016 was a dumpster fire.

Speaker 03080.46s - 3082.22s

They made the playoffs. And then 2019.

Speaker 33082.98s - 3084.34s

They did not make the playoffs.

Speaker 03084.84s - 3086.5s

No. All right. So they're on They did not make the playoffs. No. All right. So they're on a cold streak.

Speaker 33086.72s - 3093.26s

Yeah, they are. Well, now you can't even really point it to anything because they're going to, they're going to play them every year. That's crazy.

Speaker 03093.98s - 3094.2s

Right.

Speaker 33094.2s - 3099.26s

And they played the Giants ORG, they won the World Series more times than not. 80% of the time.

Speaker 03099.36s - 3100s

That is a fact.

Speaker 33100.24s - 3113.86s

That is a fact. Fun fact. Another Giants ORG, fun fact. July 20th, 2016,I was actually in attendance for this game. Hanley Ramirez, three home runs, and Drew Pomeran's PERSON debut. Good old Drew Pomerant PERSON.

Speaker 03114.08s - 3114.56s

Shout out.

Speaker 33114.94s - 3115.48s

Shout out to Woh PERSON.

Speaker 03118.52s - 3121.06s

So a 2-1 series win against the Giants ORG.

Speaker 33121.06s - 3153.22s

And then this weekend series against the Twins ORG, this was kind of a sweeper of a series. You lose 2-1. You bounce back on Sunday. You get the win. You know, you're at least kind of boost morale a little bit heading down to Atlanta. They got an off day on Monday. Lose yesterday, 4 to 2. And it is the top of the fifth right now. Excuse me. I got to hit a refresh. Red Sox ORG are still down.5.0. Bottom of the 8th. They're not coming back.

Speaker 23153.36s - 3153.94s

Not coming back.

Speaker 33156.16s - 3180.88s

So that is where we stand right now. I'm going to go into this saying that the Red Sox are not going to lose tonight, which puts them at 19 and 18 through the first 37 games of the season, still above 500. And, um,yeah, they've lost four, or excuse me, five, yeah, five out of six.I mean,

Speaker 03180.92s - 3188.84s

when you have this many injuries, it's kind of about time. I can't really say I'm surprised that they've dropped the last two series.

Speaker 33189.98s - 3191.52s

Yeah, I mean, they've had to play.

Speaker 03191.52s - 3201.06s

They have a tissue schedule coming up, so that should be able to get some wins back. But at the same time, I mean, what do you expect? Half the roster is hurt.

Speaker 33202.24s - 3239.54s

And somehow, it's a miracle that they're above 500. They definitely, I mean, they've been, they've been pieced in together as best they can. And, you know, the Braves are a tough team, 21 and 12 this year. And the twins extended their win streak up to 12 games while they were playing the Red Sox ORG. The, you know, socks broke that on Sunday. But they're 20 and 15 after a rough start to the beginning of the season. But overall, you know, socks broke that on Sunday, but they're 20 and 15 after a rough start to thebeginning of the season. But overall, I mean, 19 and 18, I guess that's about where I expected, but if you told me preseason, all these injuries would have happened, I think I would have taken

Speaker 03239.54s - 3258.74s

19 and 18 for sure. Yeah. And I mean, you have, you have three winnable series coming up too. You have Washington and then you have Tampa GPE. Both of those teams are right in your wheelhouse in terms of wins. And then you go to St. Louis, who's 15 and 21. Not a great team. No.

Speaker 33259.34s - 3275.7s

No, not at all. Not at all. Should hopefully be able to somewhat capitalize here against those teams, as you mentioned. And especially.

Speaker 23276s - 3278.88s

I'm looking at pitching matchups right now.

Speaker 03279.8s - 3283.96s

Friday, there's zero chance.

Speaker 13283.96s - 3286.88s

I'm just going to say zero chance the Red Sox lose on Friday.

Speaker 03287.72s - 3288.84s

I'm going on Friday.

Speaker 23289.2s - 3289.94s

So, uh, oh, you are?

Speaker 03290.12s - 3292.7s

Well, it's Patrick Corbyn versus Tanner Halk PERSON.

Speaker 33292.9s - 3293.3s

So.

Speaker 03295.22s - 3298.02s

Yeah, Patrick Corbin hasn't been good since they won the World Series.

Speaker 33298.02s - 3300.96s

Been like statistically one of the worst pitchers of the last.

Speaker 03301.22s - 3301.68s

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 33302.12s - 3302.6s

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 03302.92s - 3303.26s

Horrible.

Speaker 33304.1s - 3349.76s

Uh, so yeah, you got Halk PERSON. Well, first off, you got anything else on, again, we kind of kind last four years. Oh, yeah. Horrible. So, yeah, you got Halk. Well, first off, you got anything else on, again, we kind of blew through these, these performances. I guess in terms of individual performances recently, William Brayu PERSON, I feel like, has been, he's been the shining star. And in his last 11 games, he's hitting 300, no home runs, but I think defensively out inright field, he's looked very, very comfortable too. And, you know, Devers PERSON has been playing very well since he's been back. I think Seidon PERSON is starting to really see the ball well. He's hitting 311 in his last 12 games, two home runs, Connor Wong. The guys, the guys you kind of were expecting to do something, they're doing it. They're doing it.I want to see what he's at.

Speaker 03350s - 3355.18s

Hey, remember my hot take of three war Connor Wong? I do.

Speaker 23355.8s - 3356.68s

He's at a three two.

Speaker 03357.44s - 3357.82s

Is he?

Speaker 33358.06s - 3359.78s

Yeah, he, that doesn't spend.

Speaker 23359.78s - 3361.14s

Wait, my bad.

Speaker 33361.18s - 3361.74s

That's career.

Speaker 23361.92s - 3363.04s

He's at a point nine this year.

Speaker 03363.12s - 3365.54s

I was going to say, three two seems a little high, but he's on career. He's at a point nine this year. I was going to say, 3-2 seems a little high, but

Speaker 33365.54s - 3368.18s

he's on base.

Speaker 03368.68s - 3373.46s

He's on base. Yeah, he's on base is the highest of his career.

Speaker 33374.14s - 3386.94s

Yeah, he's having. He's having a heck of a year. Heck of year. I mean, Reese PERSON has been playing well too, and I mean, Connor Wong's just been,he's been better. You got to give it to the hot hand.

Speaker 03387.48s - 3388.4s

I forgot to mention too.

Speaker 33388.48s - 3418.96s

The Red Sox also acquiring Zach Short from the New York Mets ORG for cash. He took Pablo Rase's PERSON spot on the roster. Also, and Manuel Valdez PERSON get sent down. A lot of shuffling on the roster. Grissoms come back in his first three games. He's got two hits and 13 at bats. So yeah, I mean, again, it's been a shakeup of players on the hitting side of the ball these last like week to two weeks.Just ride the hot hand.

Speaker 03419.62s - 3448.5s

That's all you can do. Gardy PERSON's asked me to fill time. I don't really know what to fill time with. We've covered the last couple series, so I'll go on with what I usually go on with. Blake Snow avoided the Red Sox ORG with a phantom injury because he sucks, and the Giants ORG needed to kill some time to let him warm back up. And you know, it's probably a good thing that he missed the Sox ORG series. There's a good chance that he would have gotten shelled at Fenway FAC, and no one ever would have heard the end of it.

Speaker 33449.16s - 3456.14s

We go three weeks without talking about the Boston Red Sox, and you fill time with Blake Snell PERSON talk.

Speaker 03457.06s - 3470.86s

Yeah. Oh, yeah. He's kind of my default. It's, you know, Boston Celtics and Blake Snell PERSON talk when I, when the air goes silent, that's usually what I fill it with. Or alligators are farming.

Speaker 33471.88s - 3475.78s

You still playing a tractor simulator? Farming simulator.

Speaker 03475.78s - 3476.7s

Farming simulator? Yeah.

Speaker 33477.44s - 3479.58s

It's slow to get back because,

Speaker 03479.94s - 3494.82s

so I had it on my PlayStation PRODUCT and then I got rid of my PlayStation PRODUCT in favor of an Xbox PRODUCT. So I re-downloaded it. And of course, I couldn't keep the same file cross-consul. So my farming tycoon that I had on my PlayStation PRODUCT is gone.

Speaker 33495.04s - 3501.6s

So I have one on Xbox PRODUCT. It's a modest farm. Okay. All right. Take what you can get, I guess.

Speaker 03501.94s - 3504.08s

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 33504.26s - 3526.42s

I mean, up and down the lineup, even Yoshita in the three games he played, he had five hits. He had in eight at bats. And I mean, really, the lineup's been getting it done. It's just been, I feel like these last couple days you have a, you know, five, two loss to the twins, three one loss. The power hasn't exactly

Speaker 03526.42s - 3531.8s

been there but again got to be i've got them of the league and homers feel like they're just not

Speaker 33531.8s - 3538.36s

hitting them no they ended they ended the month of april they were top five really yeah and

Speaker 03538.36s - 3547.84s

uh i guess because you have o'neal yeah o'neal cossesosses had a handful before he went down.

Speaker 33550.54s - 3551.54s

They're probably, they're probably like middle of the pack, honestly.

Speaker 03552.44s - 3552.62s

See, stats.

Speaker 33553.52s - 3554.38s

Well, you look for that.

Speaker 03554.8s - 3556.18s

Team.

Speaker 33559.48s - 3581.92s

Game two against the nationals on Saturday. It's going to be Jake Irving, or Urban PERSON, excuse me. He's going to be squaring off against Cooper, Chriswell, and then on Sunday, the 135 afternoon start on Mother's Day, is going to be McKenzie Gore PERSON versus TBD, although that is going to be Brian Bayo PERSON.They just have not penciled that in there yet. That's going to be a great pitching matchup.

Speaker 03583.34s - 3586.46s

That's kind of exactly who you want. That's a good day for him to come back day gang

Speaker 33586.46s - 3597.22s

mother's day well actually i assume it's a day game on sunday right yep so not a good day for him to come back statistically true but uh it'll be good to have bea back i'm excited lat

Speaker 03597.22s - 3602.28s

injury was kind of came out of nowhere yeah a lot i feel like a lot of the the injuries have

Speaker 33602.28s - 3605.26s

most of them are kind of like strange.

Speaker 03605.74s - 3619.08s

It's a lot of that those side muscles. It's looking like the ribs, the lat, the oblique. What did Povetta PERSON have? Is he elbow?

Speaker 33619.46s - 3620.96s

Something with his elbow. I don't know.

Speaker 03621.02s - 3642.7s

Maybe they got to start hitting twists. Yeah, they got to start doing a, I don't know. It's kind of like Mandy Ramirez PERSON. He always had oblique issues. If Mandy PERSON was out, like there was a good chance like 99% of the time. If Mandy was not playing, it was because of his obliques. That dude refused to do a twisting motion. Yeah, I was going to say,

Speaker 33642.8s - 3653.62s

he didn't exactly love to work out. I got to give many props. When he went to Japan, he signed one of the clauses in his deal was unlimited sushi, right? Yeah.

Speaker 03654.1s - 3654.3s

Yeah.

Speaker 33654.4s - 3686.94s

So last week, it was one of my roommates' birthdays. Actually, Chris, we've had on the show twice, big Yankees ORG fan. And it was his birthday. So a couple of us go out to, there's his place on Boylston FAC, unlimited sushi. And like, one of the best nights in my life. I mean, I had so much, I had so much, so much sushi,so much rice, so much seaweed, so much fish. Like, oh my God, if I was manny, dude, happy, happiest could be. Sushi's weird because you can eat, like, so much fish like oh my god if i was manny dude happy happiest could be

Speaker 03686.94s - 3696.72s

sushi's weird because you can eat like three or four rolls worth of sushi and feel full and then in 20 minutes because there's like nothing to it

Speaker 33696.72s - 3699.74s

it's just a little bit of fish and a little bit of rice

Speaker 13699.74s - 3701.72s

and just like a little bit of everything

Speaker 03701.72s - 3704.28s

you're hungry again in like 20 minutes

Speaker 33704.28s - 3727.82s

that's exactly what happened. I was like going to bed and I was like, like I no joke probably had. I probably had. Yeah, in between just had some lightning here. Damn. Probably had in between four and five rolls, which is like, you say that.It sounds like a disgusting amount. But it goes down fast. It goes down fast. I also fasted the whole day because I was like, I'm going crazy tonight.

Speaker 03727.94s - 3738.46s

I'm paying 40 bucks for it. Like I'm going to go crazy. You also got unlimited apps, which was, which was fire hitting the, was it, Giozas PRODUCT.

Speaker 33738.78s - 3740.72s

It's like basically dumplings.

Speaker 03741.32s - 3742.4s

Oh, yeah. Those are good.

Speaker 33742.48s - 3749.86s

Real good. Real good. But yeah, I just wanted to say, I think, I think that's a great built-in clause by Manny like 10 years ago.

Speaker 03750.28s - 3750.84s

You have to.

Speaker 33751.08s - 3776.1s

You have to. I'll do it. Anyways, previewed these upcoming series. Seven game homestand, Nats and Rays ORG. You've been to Fenway a couple times this year. I've been to a handful of games as well.Is there anything that stands out to you just being at the park this year that, I don't know, is different or just like kind of stands out from years past?

Speaker 03777.94s - 3782.64s

Um, stands out from years past. Our good friend Steve Perrault PERSON will probably resonate to this one.

Speaker 33782.98s - 3790.82s

Vodka Lemonades. Yep. Not as good as they were two years ago. That's a shame. I'm not a vodka guy, so.

Speaker 03791.28s - 3793.82s

I'm not either, but I was a sucker for those things.

Speaker 33793.82s - 3794.12s

I'm not either.

Speaker 03794.3s - 3796.36s

You perceived that, what, nine last week?

Speaker 33797.74s - 3799.86s

An undisclosed amount.

Speaker 03801.7s - 3811.6s

Irregardless of however many I drank, it used to be that you could have like three of them and be just a complete liability at the park yeah i was going to say i think the one time i did have

Speaker 33811.6s - 3816.94s

one there i was like this should not be hitting me the way it is it was like you know not to call

Speaker 03816.94s - 3837.3s

them out and this is probably why they changed it but it was like a cup of vodka with a splash of lemonade in it and a couple ice cubes. Like it was a complete disproportionate poor. And then I think too many people probably ended up like we did at the park. So they put them out of the tap and they were just, it's just straight lemonade.

Speaker 33838.38s - 3844.22s

And then, I mean, there's no way to verify that you're getting, getting what you paid for there. Not at all.

Speaker 03844.62s - 3848.24s

But now this year, like I was getting them on the truly terrace. Yep.

Speaker 33849.24s - 3851.52s

And they had someone pouring them,

Speaker 03851.6s - 3856s

but I think what they do is they have like the stopper on the,

Speaker 13856s - 3861.14s

on the nozzle. So it

Speaker 03861.14s - 3865.86s

pours out a certain amount and pretty weird.

Speaker 33866.66s - 3877.54s

I mean, here's the thing. That's basically the equivalent of robot umps. You don't want to see it. You like to have a little bit of human error there, either positive or negative.

Speaker 03878.62s - 3882.18s

Human error in the bartending game is like the best possible solution.

Speaker 33882.56s - 3889.78s

I agree. Sometimes you get a drink and you're like, this is the best thing I've ever tasted. You order it again? You're like, this is bad.

Speaker 03889.96s - 3895.3s

But what makes it fun? In terms of what else is going on. I haven't had the helmet nachos yet.

Speaker 33896.24s - 3900.1s

So that's going to be a, uh, I'm trying to think what I've got to do that soon.

Speaker 03900.3s - 3900.48s

Yeah.

Speaker 33900.58s - 3901.5s

Trying to think of other stuff.

Speaker 03901.7s - 3903.5s

Ballpark's been empty. I've noticed that.

Speaker 33903.5s - 3920.92s

It's real quiet. It's, I mean, not quiet, but I mean, when I go alone, I try to, you know, I sit where I'm supposed to sit for the first half of the game. And then, you know, obviously, if people don't show up, sometimes you're able to find a seat or two. It's, it's been easy to find to find seats.

Speaker 03921.36s - 3924.62s

No doubt. Closer up this year. I mean, you can even see it on TV.

Speaker 33925.68s - 3946.14s

And, yeah, I mean, I know the broadcast has mentioned it. I see it on Twitter a lot. It's, uh, there, I mean, there was one game I was at where the, on the, I don't know if it's still technically State Street FAC, but up on the upper deck all the way down the left field line, like right below the Coca-Cola sign, legitimately not one person in that section.

Speaker 03946.98s - 3947.28s

Really?

Speaker 33947.74s - 3954.8s

Yeah, like completely empty. And I know they sell those for like corporate events or groups sometimes, but... What's it called now?

Speaker 03954.86s - 3956.42s

It's like the Allegiance FAC deck or something?

Speaker 33956.72s - 3958.06s

I don't know. I'm not calling it that.

Speaker 03958.08s - 3959.86s

It starts with an egg. It's state street stuff.

Speaker 33959.96s - 3962.94s

Not my deck. No. Not my deck.

Speaker 03963s - 3965.9s

The Sam PERSON deck has been mobbed every time I've gone.

Speaker 33965.9s - 3980.84s

It is so busy up there. And when we were there last Friday, we sat in the bleachers. We were there with a group of people. I hadn't sat out in the bleachers in a minute. But it was a good time. Sometimes you just got to get out there for a game. It's always a good time.

Speaker 03981.46s - 3983.88s

It's hard to watch from row 43.

Speaker 33984.36s - 3985.02s

I was going to say.

Speaker 03985.44s - 3989.58s

I mean, we were a good like 15 rows behind the red seat, which tells you how far out we were.

Speaker 33989.58s - 4017.48s

Oh, we went and we filmed the postgame video from the red seat. And definitely a little bit of slander there. And there was a major news source that picked up the red seat story recently and was like, fact or fiction. Did the red seat actually happen? No way. I don't think it did.No shot. Also, a lot of vandalism on the red seat. Like, that doesn't get talked about a lot. A lot of people have carved their names into that thing.I mean,

Speaker 04017.52s - 4027.8s

I would too. We should, we should carve something in. No, I'm not. Off the record.Did we see Wally PERSON?

Speaker 34029.88s - 4030.68s

No, I don't think so.

Speaker 04030.84s - 4032.12s

I don't think I've seen Wally this year.

Speaker 34032.2s - 4032.44s

He's been.

Speaker 24033.16s - 4037.04s

I only saw him that time that he ran into the elevator away from me.

Speaker 34037.84s - 4039.34s

I should have gone in the elevator.

Speaker 04039.54s - 4040.14s

Makes you think.

Speaker 34040.62s - 4042.5s

I could have cornered him, really got into the bottom of it.

Speaker 04043.82s - 4046s

He would have shot the thing right down to his layer.

Speaker 34046s - 4049.5s

He would have pulled some Tower of Terror FAC type type stuff with that elevator.

Speaker 04049.5s - 4052s

The lights go out and the rope snaps.

Speaker 34052s - 4053.5s

You're like, where's Wally PERSON?

Speaker 04053.5s - 4054.5s

You remember that?

Speaker 34054.5s - 4058s

This is Sports Center commercial with Ovechkin PERSON and, uh,

Speaker 04058s - 4060s

forget who the other guy is like going through the elevator.

Speaker 34060s - 4061.5s

They're like the Russian NORP spies.

Speaker 04061.5s - 4062.5s

Yeah.

Speaker 34062.5s - 4063.5s

Yeah.

Speaker 04063.5s - 4065.58s

Like Wally's pulling some of that stuff with Tessie PERSON.

Speaker 34066.58s - 4067.54s

He's got to be.

Speaker 04067.82s - 4068.84s

He's got to be.

Speaker 34068.92s - 4069.28s

I bet.

Speaker 04069.58s - 4078.48s

I mean, he definitely has a couple different ways back to his little dungeon. I bet the, I bet he's thought about the elevators. I don't know.

Speaker 34078.68s - 4087.8s

You got to go. You got to go back to opening day 2022 to figure out our, our initial, the Wally PERSON lore, if you want to call it that.

Speaker 04088.6s - 4092.1s

That picture that I sent you and Steve this morning from two years ago.

Speaker 34092.72s - 4094.22s

You sent something this morning?

Speaker 04094.36s - 4094.96s

I didn't see that.

Speaker 34095.38s - 4097.8s

Oh, of you and me, you and me with us.

Speaker 04097.88s - 4116.1s

We looked highly concerned. Yeah. He was like bugging us to take that picture too. We were like, we saw him like coming out of nowhere and we were like, Wally PERSON, can we get a picture? And he, you know, trots on over. And then I was like fumbling with my phone and he's given me the like, hurry up. I'm like, what are he in such a rush for? Yeah.

Speaker 34116.28s - 4119.14s

Isn't this your entire job just take pictures with people?

Speaker 04119.48s - 4120.28s

He's sweating.

Speaker 34120.82s - 4151.7s

He thought we were stalling. Yeah. Nah, Wally PERSON's always got to keep an eye out for him. I'm trying to think of other stuff at Fenway this year. I got the pulled pork sliders. Those were pretty good. I think the ballpark food has seen an uptick in the last two years, in my opinion. A slight uptick. Otherwise, still a lot of hot dogsstill out of chicken tenders and yeah that's kind of the

Speaker 04151.7s - 4153.5s

kind of the only two things to get

Speaker 34153.5s - 4164.12s

yeah I can't complain always a good time at at the Fence FAC though it's been cold like I'm not complaining I love going to the games but it gets it's been getting cold it's still cold and we're into the

Speaker 04164.12s - 4166.88s

second week of May. Friday's going to be cold. Yeah.

Speaker 34167.32s - 4167.96s

Yeah, what was it?

Speaker 04167.98s - 4169.3s

Like, not even 50.

Speaker 34171.24s - 4173.22s

Yeah, and it's not going to be 50 this Friday either.

Speaker 04173.42s - 4173.66s

Yeah.

Speaker 34174.32s - 4176.56s

I'm going to go, I think I'm going to be at the game on Tuesday.

Speaker 04176.56s - 4179.98s

It's going to be 65 at first pitch.

Speaker 34180.04s - 4182.98s

I'll take that. I'll take that. But, um,

Speaker 24183.04s - 4189.58s

temperature. You got, uh, you got an ACTP I. J.W. Nowx core impact player of the week.

Speaker 04190s - 4192.84s

Got to go with three war. Connor Wong. Give him a point three.

Speaker 34193.4s - 4223.72s

Love to see it. He, well deserved. Well deserved. I'm going to go with Willier PERSON, Brayu PERSON.He's been, uh, he's been, uh, he's been a man on a mission of late. I'm going to give old willier a, uh,0.5 on the Alex Core impact scale. All in all, you love to see the young guys makingstrides on the field. What they call them up for.

Speaker 04224.28s - 4230.04s

Absolutely. We got some questions do you see the two that I added into the agenda

Speaker 34230.04s - 4233.92s

I did not know I feel like these are good ones

Speaker 04233.92s - 4239.54s

these are ones that I've heard out and about I'm not seeing

Speaker 34239.54s - 4240.38s

questions

Speaker 04240.38s - 4242.02s

it's under miscellaneous

Speaker 34242.02s - 4242.58s

oh I see

Speaker 04242.58s - 4246.22s

all right you want to start with Matt PERSON questions or our question?

Speaker 34246.28s - 4247.7s

I feel like you got to start with Matt PERSON questions.

Speaker 04247.82s - 4249.84s

Well, yeah, I mean, we have to start with questions with Matt PERSON.

Speaker 34250.04s - 4261.48s

Questions from Matt PERSON. Our first question comes in for Matt PERSON. He says, what non-New England NORP city would you most want to live in? It's a good question, Matt PERSON.

Speaker 04263.4s - 4269.8s

Probably like Dallas. Hmm. That Fort Worth area. Yeah. It's a good question Matt PERSON probably like Dallas that Fort Worth GPE area yeah it's a nice area

Speaker 34269.8s - 4271.84s

I've never been down there but

Speaker 04271.84s - 4275.3s

I was there for like 48 hours and I liked it quite a bit

Speaker 34275.3s - 4280.92s

I'm probably go with Orlando

Speaker 04280.92s - 4283.24s

go see the mouse

Speaker 34283.24s - 4284.36s

go see the mouse yeah

Speaker 04284.36s - 4285.1s

probably live with the mouse Go see the mouse? Go see the mouse. Yeah, probably.

Speaker 34285.76s - 4287.22s

Live with the mouse full time?

Speaker 04287.38s - 4288.44s

I already did that.

Speaker 34290.38s - 4291.34s

I've already done that.

Speaker 04292.08s - 4293.9s

You've done your due diligence with the mouse?

Speaker 34294.02s - 4294.84s

I've done my due diligence.

Speaker 04295.14s - 4299.82s

No, I honestly would, I would not, I would not like to live in Florida year round.

Speaker 34299.94s - 4301.76s

It hits so hot in there in the summer.

Speaker 04302.68s - 4305.52s

I feel like Orlando is like the worst city in Florida GPE to live in, too.

Speaker 34306.44s - 4308.48s

No, I feel like there's...

Speaker 04308.48s - 4310.02s

It's pretty trashy, man.

Speaker 34310.22s - 4316.4s

Probably worse. I don't know. Tampa GPE's not much... Nah, Tampa GPE's nice. I don't know.

Speaker 04316.4s - 4317.26s

Tampa GPE's nice now.

Speaker 34318.48s - 4326.5s

Yeah, I don't think I'd want to live in Miami GPE, to be completely honest. Too much going on. Yeah. I don't know. I guess that leaves Too much going on. Yeah. I don't know.

Speaker 04326.52s - 4327.92s

I guess that leaves you with Jacksonville.

Speaker 34328.76s - 4328.92s

Yeah.

Speaker 04329.32s - 4331.82s

No, Jacksonville is definitely below Orlando GPE.

Speaker 34332.06s - 4332.84s

That's for sure.

Speaker 04332.84s - 4336.58s

I don't know. I ate a good time in Jacksonville. I went to a waffle house and it was...

Speaker 34336.58s - 4338.94s

You can find a waffle house every third of a mile in Florida GPE.

Speaker 04339.5s - 4342.56s

I know, but it was weird. Like I went, it was the first time I ever went.

Speaker 34343.24s - 4355.82s

And our buddy John, the Orioles ORG fan, was, we walked out and he was like, that was the complete opposite of a Waffle House ORG experience. The food was good. Yeah.

Speaker 04355.9s - 4357.6s

I said, what were they nice to you?

Speaker 34357.6s - 4358.04s

Yeah.

Speaker 04358.14s - 4368.98s

The server was like extraordinarily nice to us. The food was good. It was on time. And it was clean. That's not how it's supposed to be. No food was good. It was on time. And it was clean. That's not how it's supposed to be.

Speaker 34369.38s - 4369.92s

No, it's not.

Speaker 04369.96s - 4370.78s

It's supposed to be,

Speaker 34370.94s - 4381.16s

I've, I've almost seen a fight in a waffle house before. I believe it. I will say every time I've gotten food there, it's been unbelievable. It's what makes you coming back.

Speaker 04381.74s - 4382.34s

It is good.

Speaker 34382.34s - 4386.08s

Did it feel like being home? Yeah, I mean, I got the, what I get, I got the chocolate chip pancakes and hash browns. It's what makes you coming back. It is good. Did it feel like being home? Yeah.

Speaker 04386.08s - 4390.06s

I mean, I got the, what I get, I got the chocolate chip pancakes and hash browns.

Speaker 34390.34s - 4391.24s

You didn't get a waffle?

Speaker 04392.16s - 4402.1s

Chocolate chip waffle, my bad. I was going to say. But whatever that, the butter, like air quotes butter spread. Yeah. That stuff is good.

Speaker 34402.44s - 4406.08s

Yeah, it's just, it's just artery blocking cholesterol.

Speaker 04407.08s - 4410.1s

I didn't even think it's not, it's definitely not butter.

Speaker 34410.3s - 4420.06s

No, no, it's like, there's like country crock, like the, no free ads, but like the good butter, then you got like regular butter, and then you got like whatever the hell that is.

Speaker 04420.96s - 4426.1s

Not to quote a money ball, but it's like, you know know you got this and that and then 50 feet of crap

Speaker 34426.1s - 4431.38s

and then the Waffle House ORG butter yeah terms of nutrition at least yeah no Waffle House is good

Speaker 24431.38s - 4437.78s

oh yeah yeah real good uh next question comes in for Matt PERSON he says this is this is a quick one

Speaker 34437.78s - 4451.28s

he says do you typically write in blue or black ink I usually go black yeah the blue I feel like blue was like the leftover pens you'd find in your high school English LANGUAGE class you're blue or black ink. I usually go black. Yeah. Blue? I feel like blue was like the leftover pens you'd find in your high school English LANGUAGE class. You're like, I got nothing else to write with.

Speaker 04452.9s - 4453.48s

Yeah, I just don't like the color of blue pink.

Speaker 34454.64s - 4462.86s

I don't really blame you. I don't really know why that's like blue ink is a thing. Like you don't write in any other coloring. It's still a color.

Speaker 04463.28s - 4463.82s

Right.

Speaker 34464.16s - 4464.88s

I don't know. It's just bold.

Speaker 04465.46s - 4465.92s

Looks good. Or would you, here's a better question. Would? I don't know. It's just bold. Looks good.

Speaker 34466.48s - 4467.34s

Or would you,

Speaker 04467.46s - 4468.42s

here's a better question.

Speaker 34468.48s - 4474.54s

Would you rather go blue pen or pencil? I guess pencil.

Speaker 04475.06s - 4479.54s

Wow. Can at least erase it? It's pouring rain right now.

Speaker 34479.66s - 4489.12s

Holy shit. Uh, I was going to say, it's pouring rain here. I'm in, I'm in Rhode Island GPE.Shout up the, the smallest state in the country. Foring rain.

Speaker 04489.12s - 4490.98s

That's not it. What?

Speaker 34491.46s - 4491.86s

Delaware GPE.

Speaker 04492.7s - 4492.98s

Oh,

Speaker 34492.98s - 4496.66s

come on, dude. No, Rhode Island GPE is a small state in the country. No,

Speaker 04496.72s - 4502.08s

Delaware's number two. Oh, come on. You grew up here whole life in New England and didn't know,it's not a small state.

Speaker 34502.44s - 4506.9s

Ridiculous. I, like, I don't even need to fight my case. You're going to be wrong here in three seconds. I'm not. Absolutely. All right. Delaware GPE's not a small state. Ridiculous. I don't even need to fight my case. You're going to be wrong here in three seconds.

Speaker 04507.38s - 4507.98s

I'm not.

Speaker 34508.34s - 4511.66s

Absolutely. Delaware's number two and then Connecticut's number three.

Speaker 04511.98s - 4512.08s

U.S.

Speaker 34512.76s - 4516.58s

state by size. I know that as someone who grew up in the third small state. Total area.

Speaker 04518.72s - 4520.12s

Holy shit. Yeah.

Speaker 34520.36s - 4524.18s

Oh. Surprise. You think it changed?

Speaker 04524.66s - 4525.42s

And Baltimore land? This is unbelievable. I don't believe this. You think it changed and bombor land?

Speaker 34526.5s - 4527.5s

This is unbelievable.

Speaker 04527.56s - 4528.3s

I don't believe this.

Speaker 34528.74s - 4530.5s

You thought Rhode Island was the 49?

Speaker 04531.3s - 4531.7s

What?

Speaker 34532.6s - 4533.18s

All right.

Speaker 04533.24s - 4535.36s

So I guess I'm just totally, I was thinking like maybe,

Speaker 34535.56s - 4537.44s

because this has like total area,

Speaker 04537.68s - 4539.72s

which is land and water area.

Speaker 34540.24s - 4543.34s

So I figured maybe Delaware GPE had it by land area,

Speaker 04543.4s - 4547.52s

but it just doesn't. No. I'm shocked. I can't. No. I'm shocked. I can't believe that.

Speaker 34547.6s - 4556.24s

That's crazy. That is crazy. That is crazy. It's absurd. You got two questions on here. You want to ask those?Yeah.

Speaker 04557.64s - 4559.2s

I think this is a good bet.

Speaker 34559.2s - 4559.68s

Okay.

Speaker 04563.28s - 4574.38s

Do Shoha Atani and Muki combine for more home runs or more home runs than Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies ORG wins?

Speaker 34576.06s - 4599.78s

Respectfully, I like the thinking behind this question and I like where you're going with it. And I want to take Otani and bets, but I'm still going to roll with the Rockies ORG and the White Sox. I just, that would be absurd. The White Sox have nine wins. The Rockies have eight. That's 17. If you can, if you can count there. Otani has, what is it? He's got 11 home runs.

Speaker 24600.58s - 4605.46s

Mookie's got, what is he? He's got eight. He's got six. So they're dead even, 1717.

Speaker 04606.06s - 4609.62s

I feel like this is a good race to follow for the rest of the year. I like it.

Speaker 34609.62s - 4623.18s

It's going to be close. I like it, but like if you think about it this way, both Otani, like, both if Otani and Betts both hit 45 home runs, which is a great year for both of them. Amazing.

Speaker 04624.02s - 4627.66s

I mean, Otani was on pace for like 68 for you.

Speaker 34627.66s - 4638.46s

Yeah, true. He is on pace for more. But let's say they both hit 45, which is like crazy. I don't see, I don't see both teams combining for fewer than 45 wins.

Speaker 04639s - 4640.16s

But I think it's a good race.

Speaker 34640.86s - 4642.82s

They're on pace for like 28.

Speaker 04644.8s - 4645.26s

Wins?

Speaker 34646.32s - 4646.78s

Yeah.

Speaker 04647.02s - 4647.36s

So how many...

Speaker 34647.36s - 4648.58s

Turn it around a little bit.

Speaker 04648.74s - 4649.18s

Nine,

Speaker 34649.18s - 4650.56s

turn it around. Nine and twenty.

Speaker 04650.56s - 4651.84s

Turn it around for nine wins.

Speaker 34652.3s - 4658.72s

Their run differential is negative 89. Colorado is negative 82. It's outrageous. Crazy. Crazy.

Speaker 04659.18s - 4662.04s

outrageous. And then my second question.

Speaker 34662.78s - 4663.48s

This one,

Speaker 04663.6s - 4678.98s

I kind of got to explain it. So you have ten championships to hand out over the next five years goes to either your favorite team or your favorite individual athletes. So like horses, golfing, like whatever. You can double dip, of course.

Speaker 34679.42s - 4685.8s

But how do you disperse those 10 championships? Oh, interesting. Can I do college teams too?

Speaker 04686.12s - 4691.42s

Yeah, you can do any team. So if you want to add like your favorite WNBA ORG team, you can.

Speaker 34691.54s - 4707s

Listen, man, Connecticut Sun this year. I think the Connecticut Sun made it to, I don't know if they do East LOC and West, but they made it to a conference finals last year. So I'm going, I'm allotting five to the Red Sox ORG. Okay.

Speaker 04707.36s - 4709.08s

I want to see a five Pete PERSON.

Speaker 34709.28s - 4714.4s

Postronox ORG getting into a fight right here. This is sweet, 6-1 Panthers ORG. Jesus Christ PERSON.

Speaker 04714.7s - 4717.44s

I'm going five to the Boston Red Sox ORG.

Speaker 34717.94s - 4724.96s

I'm going to give two to the New Jersey Devils, two to the New England Patriots, and one to the Boston Celtics ORG.

Speaker 04725.68s - 4727.24s

No individuals at all.

Speaker 34728.32s - 4738.08s

Listen, I, here's my thing. I don't, I don't really, I don't have like a favorite golfer or a favorite tennis player. Yep.

Speaker 04738.58s - 4744.12s

And in terms of the other sport I follow the most, I cover it.

Speaker 34744.12s - 4754.16s

And I'm a broadcaster for many different teams college hockey. So I can't root for a singular team. I guess so.

Speaker 04755.26s - 4756.72s

How would you do it?

Speaker 34757.92s - 4759.6s

So I kind of got to work this backward.

Speaker 04761.8s - 4765.44s

Go on, of course, five for the socks. Five for the Sox

Speaker 34765.44s - 4766.18s

Mm-hmm

Speaker 04766.18s - 4769.28s

Four for the socks

Speaker 24769.28s - 4770s

Yep

Speaker 14770s - 4771.9s

Two for the Pats

Speaker 04771.9s - 4772.64s

Okay

Speaker 24772.64s - 4775.74s

Wait three for the Pats

Speaker 04775.74s - 4776.3s

Yep

Speaker 24776.3s - 4778s

Two for Tiger Woods

Speaker 04778s - 4779.58s

You're already at you're at 10

Speaker 34779.58s - 4780.9s

No I'm at 9

Speaker 04780.9s - 4782.3s

Five for the Pats

Speaker 34782.3s - 4785.18s

Two for the Patriots Or you said three for the Patriots Three and four So seven Okay Plus two for Tiger I'm at nine. Five for the Pats, two for the Patriots ORG. Or you said three for the Patriots.

Speaker 04786.66s - 4786.88s

Three and four, so seven.

Speaker 34787.12s - 4787.54s

Okay.

Speaker 04788.46s - 4789.18s

Plus two for Tiger PERSON. I'm at nine.

Speaker 34790.16s - 4790.9s

Oh, four for the socks. Okay.

Speaker 04794.24s - 4794.44s

And then I'm throwing Penn State ORG football national championship.

Speaker 34795.84s - 4799.66s

One of you a Penn State ORG football fan? Oh, wait, you had your dad went there, right?

Speaker 04799.98s - 4800.18s

Yeah.

Speaker 34800.42s - 4802.82s

Yeah. All right.

Speaker 04803.78s - 4804s

Throw them a bone.

Speaker 34804.26s - 4804.86s

Okay.

Speaker 04806.7s - 4807.94s

They get their revenge from.

Speaker 34811.42s - 4811.98s

I was going to say I started becoming a fan when that guy was the offensive coordinator.

Speaker 04812.14s - 4812.54s

Yeah.

Speaker 34813.54s - 4817.08s

Not great times. No. Not great.

Speaker 04819.5s - 4830.64s

I did make a bet with a guy at the gym. He also went to Penn State ORG. And he said that he would bet me a protein shake at the bar that Rutgers wins nine games.

Speaker 34832.6s - 4833.24s

Nine games for Rutgers ORG?

Speaker 04834.54s - 4844.9s

How many games do they play? Like 12 to 13? There's no way. I'm going to see the last. I don't even think they've, I think they won like four games last year.

Speaker 34845.06s - 4848.26s

What's their, what's their schedule looking like for this year?

Speaker 04848.34s - 4852.24s

Probably even harder than this year.

Speaker 34852.44s - 4855s

Because they're, well, now they're in the big 10 with UCLA ORG.

Speaker 04855s - 4857.04s

They won seven games last year.

Speaker 34857.22s - 4859.32s

All right. Well, what, what's their schedule looking like this year?

Speaker 04859.9s - 4863.82s

I don't know if they've released it. They must have.

Speaker 34863.82s - 4871.04s

Also, what's, uh, curious to see what, like, UCLA ORG's football schedule looks like, the Big Ten, totally unrelated, but.

Speaker 04872.08s - 4875.64s

I'm so in favor of this conference realignment.

Speaker 34876.36s - 4881.28s

Did you see on Twitter today that I am in the new college football video game?

Speaker 04881.5s - 4882.22s

I did see that.

Speaker 34882.34s - 4883.56s

Congratulations. Thank you.

Speaker 04883.84s - 4888.26s

It's going to be weird when they had FCS schools, and I'm going to be playing in Wildcat Stadium FAC.. Thank you. It's going to be weird when they had FCS ORG schools and I'm going to be playing in Wildcat Stadium FAC.

Speaker 34888.52s - 4907.58s

Yeah. I think it's going to be kind of trippy. For anyone who doesn't know, EA ORG put out a thing where depending on which teams you're playing on,there'll be different, like, level broadcasters. And someone I've worked with in the past he had a picture of me and him. He was, I don't even remember the two teams. There were two, two schools I had never.

Speaker 04907.7s - 4909.32s

Akron and like Howard.

Speaker 34909.84s - 4925.9s

It said, and we're glad, we're glad to have you here with us this afternoon as Sam PERSON, it's the same Houston Bearcats host Louisiana Monroe ORG. So there you go. If you play with those two teams, you'll, you'll trigger me as the broadcaster in, and NCAA ORG football 25. Rutgers has a pretty cakewalk schedule. Oh, There you go. If you play with those two teams, you'll trigger me as the broadcaster in NCAA. And CAA Football ORG 25.

Speaker 04927s - 4930.2s

Rutgers ORG has a pretty cakewalk schedule. Oh, really?

Speaker 24930.8s - 4941.08s

Howard, Akron, Virginia Tech, Washington, Nebraska, Wisconsin, UCLA, USC, Minnesota, Maryland, Illinois, Michigan State ORG.

Speaker 34941.16s - 4942.68s

So they might actually win nine games.

Speaker 24942.68s - 4944.22s

USC ORG came over too.

Speaker 04945.56s - 4946.72s

Yeah, I could see.

Speaker 24946.86s - 4949.54s

I couldn't tell you a single player on the Rutgers ORG roster,

Speaker 34949.72s - 4952.28s

but I'll give it to you. I'll give it to you. We'll see.

Speaker 04952.78s - 4953.1s

We'll see.

Speaker 34954.4s - 4964.04s

You got a closing out the ninth thought here. Red Sox have officially lost the game to the Braves 5-0, and they get dusted by the Braves in two games.

Speaker 04964.84s - 4970.86s

Yep, put Bobby D PERSON on the mound. If you're not going to put him in the field, let Andrew Bailey work with him for like a month.

Speaker 34971.42s - 4980.28s

People forget he was a great college pitcher. 265 ERA, 200 innings, 231, opponent batting average.

Speaker 04980.98s - 4982.44s

Andrew Bailey PERSON can definitely work with that.

Speaker 34982.74s - 4984.58s

He could fix him around. Absolutely.

Speaker 04985.26s - 4986.8s

Yeah, something we didn't really talk about. There was a thing that came out today about Andrew Bailey PERSON can definitely work with that. He could fix them around. Absolutely. Yeah, something we didn't really talk about.

Speaker 34986.9s - 5012.32s

There was a thing that came out today about Andrew Bailey PERSON, like, Kenley Jansen PERSON was twisting too much. So in the first couple weeks of the season. So Andrew Bailey PERSON did this thing where he like basically just shoved him. And he like hasn't given up a run since. That was very paraphrased.Got to read the whole story. But yeah, that was that. That's essentially what Bailey PERSON's been doing. Beast.

Speaker 05012.9s - 5015.24s

He's good at what he does. Sure is.

Speaker 35015.72s - 5077.18s

My closing out the ninth thoughts. I don't know. Just try to stay afloat here. I mean, it's hard to get discouraged with this team when they're still above 500. There have been so many injuries. I mean, the lineup they rolled out today was, was, I don't want to even say bizarre because, again, not everyone's healthy. And, you know, you got Connor Wong hit in second. Romeo Gonzalez playing first base. Abreu's hit an eighth. Just up and down, interesting, interesting stuff. So I think individually, I just want to continue to see guys who are going to be a part of the future playing well. If this year doesn't shake out to be a playoff year, which it still could. You never know. But I think you just continue to build that base. That's what I'm looking for this week. That's what I'm going to continue to look for and look forward to watching with this team this year, even if the team isn't playing all that well.I like it.

Speaker 05077.74s - 5077.92s

What?

Speaker 35078.58s - 5079.4s

I like it.

Speaker 05079.74s - 5081.3s

Hell yeah. Positive. Hell yeah.

Speaker 35081.82s - 5100.04s

That'll do it. Episode 154 here from the Gombridge ORG podcast. If you enjoyed what you listened to, don't forget to follow us on Instagram at Gombridge Podcast and Twitter at Gombbridge ORG. Don't forget to subscribe to our episodes on Apple Spotcat ORG, Otball podcast, Spotify, and Stitcher ORG.
