Speaker 100s - 12.84s

It's time for the Tri-County ORG equipment. Get Stuck on Sports Podcast WORK_OF_ART. Here are your hosts, Dennis Stucky, and Brady Beden PERSON.

Speaker 1213.18s - 27.5s

That would be us two knuckleheads to talk some more baseball and softball with you after a busy couple of days. I saw a really interesting game on Wednesday that went forever. You thought Tenet ORG was going to be your

Speaker 1127.5s - 35.1s

longest game of the year. Yeah, no, this one was a wild 12-inning game. And we'll get to that.

Speaker 1235.1s - 42.86s

You saw the rest of the series between Marysville and Ph. Yep, Marysville swept them. Marysville's ORG,

Speaker 1142.9s - 45.12s

I think they're on a bit of a roll right now. Yeah.

Speaker 1245.5s - 47.32s

And both our games ended in the same way.

Speaker 1147.94s - 50.5s

Yes, that was the weird thing on Wednesday.

Speaker 1251.4s - 56.8s

That's not the usual way a game ends, and it happened almost simultaneously.

Speaker 1157.3s - 59.36s

Well, yours probably happened a little bit earlier than mine.

Speaker 1260.24s - 69.34s

And, of course, Northern wrapped up their series with Lance Cruz PERSON. St. Clair played two with Anchor Bay ORG. We'll get to all the Mac stuff first in baseball.

Speaker 1169.34s - 70.52s

We had two no hitters.

Speaker 1270.84s - 77.62s

Yeah, two no hitters. One in softball, one in baseball and one in a big time game. Yeah. The baseball one to me was the more impressive one.

Speaker 1177.64s - 79.42s

Well, that one was seven innings too.

Speaker 1279.72s - 81.4s

But hey, no hitters or no hitter.

Speaker 1181.48s - 83.08s

I'm not going to take anything away from it.

Speaker 1283.16s - 87.04s

All right. We'll get to that. And more coming up in just a moment.

Speaker 790.94s - 97.42s

Every piece of land has a story written by those who work in, like the Nelson PERSON's, who cruise around their ranch on a John Deere Gator XUV 835R. With 3,000 acres, there's plenty of work to do.

Speaker 7100.94s - 107.22s

That's how they've kept their ranch going for five generations. We wouldn't be in ranching without the gator. Run with us on a Gator XUV 835R PRODUCT and start telling your story.

Speaker 12258.48s - 267.18s

And you're back with Dennis and Brady. And let's start with baseball. We begin on Wednesday because, well, that's a good place to start.

Speaker 11267.38s - 386.66s

Yeah, usually we do it by day. We're almost going to do the Mac by team because every team played two games. And we saw a decent amount of it. I'll start with my game, Marysville and Ph. Dennis, Wednesday, and you know this because you were outside, Wednesday was a beautiful day all day long. You know, we recorded, we left, it was shorts and t-shirt weather. I get to marysville, shorts and t-shirt weather. I'm grabbing the lineups, no problem. And the little press box behind home plate sitting there window wide open. And right about as pH is getting ready to take in-field outfield, the wind shifted and it came right off the lake and I'm telling you it went from feeling sunny and 70-something to windy and feeling like it's in the 50s. And it happened in the span of about two minutes. And it went from a gorgeous day to all right, it's windy and it's blowing straight in. It was swirling, but it was either straight in from left, straight in from center, or straight in from right. So advantage pitcher, and the pitchers would take advantage of it. Brady Wright and Joey Gilbert, two young arms for each PH and Marysville ORG, took advantage of it and they were dueling. PH didn't get their first hit until the thirdand he went Brennan Hofer singled. He got over to third and was stranded, not third. He was on third with one out and it went strike out, fly out with the top of the order coming up. And the way the game was going, you're going, all right, I'm going to be a tough one to get back. Marysville didn't get their first hit till the bottom of the third. Wyatt Foyardo PERSON had a single up the middle that wasn't even hit hard, but pH got out of that inning. And with the wind blowing in, both sides were hitting fly balls. And even once someone got a hold of one, you went, ooh, off the bat, the outfielder would take a half step back, reach up, bring it in.

Speaker 0386.76s - 395.84s

Like, it was just, it was like hitting into a brick wall. You weren't going to put it in the air. So this game is scoreless, and no one's really threatening to score.

Speaker 11398.04s - 609.32s

Marysville got a runner in scoring position in the fifth. Couldn't do anything with it. PH got a runner in scoring position in the top of the seventh, then a strikeout and a weird groundout play where the throw to first and Clark PERSON had to come off the base and he collided with Hansel PERSON,but I thought his foot was still on the base and he tried to make the tag. But as he made the tag, he fell down and his glove hit the ground and it stood there for a second, but the ball slowly slipped out and neither umpire made a call and both players are laying there like they've been shot. And everyone just kind of looked around and Marysville ORG went, all right, I think he was out and just kind of walked off the field. And obviously both coaches made sure their players were okay. And then they went, so what's the call? And I think the home played home player went, oh, yeah, no one made a call. He's out, which I thought he was. In real time, I thought he was out. Like the throw pulled RJ PERSON off, but I thought he still had a foot on as he was being pulled off.And you always want to be safe and make the tag. And the ball was in the glove long enough that. I wouldn't say he dropped it. He just laid there and didn't keep squeezing the mitt. So that's how it ended. It's still zero zero going into the bottom of the seventh. And at this point, Joey Gilbert had thrown 103 pitches. He comes back out for the seventh, which I understand what they are doing, but you can only start a new batter if you're at 105 or below. So you have essentially two pitches to throw. Best case scenario you bring in the reliever with one away. First batter, he hits Cole Cooper PERSON. So the winning runs aboard on one pitch. And at 104 pitches, you can see he's telling thedugout, I'm good. Let me throw to one more. All right. And so they leave him out there. So of course, Marysville ORG, in this type of game, they play small ball anyway, but there's no doubt about it. They're bunting here. Like you could ask anyone out there. Kegan Quain PERSON comes up, goes to lay down a bunt, as you do, to put the winning run in the scoring position. Perfect bunt down the third baseline. Third baseman comes up, throw to first offline. Now I will give credit to, I believe it was Griffin Hansel PERSON out and right. He was there for the backup. So Cole Cooper, who was on first, is now heading to third. And Quain off of first, just saw the ball go by and goes, all right, I'm just going to keep going out of habit. Well, he didn't realize Hansel was right there. So he picked up and throws the first. So now Quain PERSON's caught in the middle, but you still have Cole Cooper at third. So it looks like Quain's about to get in a run down between first and second.Cooper's overrunning third. And they notice. And they see Cooper in between third and home kind of in no man's land. And the mistake pH made, instead of just running at them, they tried to throw all the way across the diamond. And as soon as they went to throw it, the throw, a Cooper broke for home.If the throw is online, it might be a tough relay to go from third to home to get them. The throw was wild. And Cooper scores from first on a sack bunt. And Marysville wins at one to nothing in, I don't want to say anti-climactic fashion, because the last play was a bit wild, but Mary Zill wins a pitcher's duel one to nothing.

Speaker 12610.62s - 612.66s

In a way that's tough to describe.

Speaker 11612.96s - 628.94s

Yes. I've been there. Yes. In a play that was just supposed to be, all right, sack punt and move the run in a second,we have our 9-1-2 is coming up. But pH, up into that that point had made one error.

Speaker 0629.38s - 635.22s

And it was an error in the first inning that with two away and the next batter flied out.

Speaker 11635.5s - 649.06s

So it didn't matter. And then their errors and the faulty defense reared its ugly head at the worst possible moment. I mean, two errors on the same play. I don't know.

Speaker 12649.06s - 650.3s

Throwing errors too. Yes.

Speaker 11650.78s - 716.12s

And I don't know if it was just the moment got too big or like the heart rate got going too much. But Marysdill took advantage of it and they made the plays all day long. And Marysville gets the one-nothing win. So they have a 2-0 series lead. And then they come back the next day in what was a crappy day from the start and just got worse. And Marysville ORG took care of business again. They won 7 to 2. Marysville scored two runs in the top of the first to take the lead. A little bit of wildness from Peyton Mullins PERSON. He did settle down in the next couple of innings he threw. But you walk three guys in the first inning. So when Ben Martins hits one off the handle and pushes it over the third baseman's head and it scores too,it hurts a lot more than if you have command and can't, there's no one on. So it's 2-0. P.H gets one back. Cameron, Tesla ORG, hit a hard ball up the middle. Then Joey Seppo PERSON split the gap. And Tesla had to unhook the trailer to score for him first.

Speaker 12716.38s - 724.24s

It took him a while, but he was not going to be denied. And Joey Seppo with the RBI double and pH had a little bit of momentum back.

Speaker 11724.94s - 799.54s

Marysville took it back with a pair of errors in the second inning that gave them another run. So it's 3-1 and the game kind of settled down. But Marysville would add two more runs in the fifth. A couple of hits. Talon Sisko PERSON, fresh off the bench, rips an RBI double into left. There was an error in there as well,a throwing error that just didn't need to be made. So it's 5-1 at that point. Marysville ORG added on a couple in the top of the seventh to make it 7-1. PH scratched across the run in the bottom of the 7th, but it was too little too late.Marysville ORG gets the sweep, and they're playing really well. They're not mathematically eliminated from the Mac Blue Race EVENT. Now, it would take very unforeseen circumstances of Lans Cruz taking two of three from Lakeview ORG. Actually, they'd have to sweep Lakeview because if they take two or three, you only can game one game on them. So you would need Lons Cruz to sweep Lakeview because if they take two or three, you only can gain one game on them. So you would need Lonscruz to sweep Lakeview ORG.It's not going to happen. But Marysville is tied for second with Frazier and they play Frazier next week. So it's a series for second place in the blue. Yeah.

Speaker 12799.78s - 801.48s

What is this is five or six in a row?

Speaker 11801.48s - 802.4s

Five in a row.

Speaker 12802.74s - 824.08s

Their last loss was the two to nothing extra inning loss against Northern ORG that they're probably kicking themselves for. Because think about if you flip that game, if you just find one run to push across in that game. And I don't want to open old wounds because I'm very high on what Marysville ORG is doing right now. You're one game back of Lakeview ORG going into the final series.

Speaker 11824.34s - 833.28s

A team that swept you, and that would have been your only loss in Mac play, was the sweep to Lakeview ORG.

Speaker 12833.9s - 839.22s

Yeah, and I mean, again, is Lakeview ORG, they're probably going to sweep their last series.

Speaker 11839.9s - 842.78s

But you can hope for a loss. Right.

Speaker 12843.46s - 848.52s

Only hoping for one that you know that, hey, it can happen.

Speaker 11848.52s - 897.36s

You get a windy day and you get a one-nothing game. You get a pitcher's duel. It's not impossible. I mean, pH played close games with them. Northern clipped Lakeview earlier in the year in a pitcher's duel. It can happen. But I think Marysville ORG has taken a lot of strides. They are making the plays in front of them. They don't make a lot of errors. I thought actually Thursday was one of the worst defensive games I've seen. It was not terrible by any metric. They're just a few plays that I saw them make or mistakes they didn't make before popped up here and there. But the pitchers for the most part, throw strikes. The fielders make plays, and Dennis PERSON, it sounds simple, but baseball can be a simple game. Throw strikes, make the play in front of you, and you're going to have a chance on most days.

Speaker 12897.36s - 905.7s

Yeah, I mean, don't want to oversimplify it, but it can be an easy game if you want to make it an easy game.

Speaker 11905.7s - 1008.7s

And I like their pitching. I, again, I think they're all solid. None of them have that, wow, look at this kid. Oh my gosh, every college in the world is going to be coming to look at them, but they throw strikes. And they, for the most part, it seems like they hit their spots. And they have a good mix of off-speed stuff to work with. So whether it's Brady Wright PERSON, who, by the way, in the most part, it seems like they hit their spots. And they have a good mix of off-speed stuff to work with. So whether it's Brady Wright, who, by the way, in the last two games, has gone 14 innings and given up like, I think, four hits and has walked three and struck out like 10. He's a freshman. That's going to win you a lot of games. That's going to give you a shot. Bryce Smith PERSON was probably the worst pitcher this series just because he struggled with command and gave up a grand total of one run. Like, that's where we're at in this because Marysville ORG is just doing the simple thingsand it's reaping rewards. They're now above 500 overall. They're eight and four in league play. Marysville ORG is just doing the simple things and it's reaping rewards. They're now above 500 overall. They're eight and four in league play. And I think if they have this type of pitching come June 1st, I'm not saying they're the favorite to win,but I'm saying they can win a district if they play this way. Now, the series against Frazier PERSON is going to be a litmus test. You win this series, you sweep this series. All right, now I think you get a lot of teams nervous to play you. You take one or get swept. You go, okay, you beat up on a couple of struggling port here on schools. Yeah, so, yeah, I think this is, kind of like what we talked about with Marine City last year.

Speaker 121008.78s - 1010.16s

Okay, yeah, you won your league.

Speaker 111010.26s - 1013.14s

And then you won the district and that legitimized things.

Speaker 121013.6s - 1015.92s

So, okay, yeah, you've won your last two series.

Speaker 111016.82s - 1022.08s

But now what you do against Frazier will tell us whether those last two series meant anything.

Speaker 121022.08s - 1025.62s

I guess, for lack of a better term, it's a fork in the road series.

Speaker 111025.98s - 1026.1s

Yeah.

Speaker 121026.42s - 1028s

You play well, and you know what?

Speaker 111028.28s - 1065.8s

Obviously, there's exceptions. If you lose the series and the games are 3-2-2-1 and 4-2, I'm not going to be upset that you lost two of three in a close series. But just keep playing good baseball. Do what got you here. Keep it simple. And I think you'll be all right. PH, they're a curious case because they're not getting wapped in any of these games. They just make a few errors that, and a lot of them are unnecessary errors that are the difference from them really being about a 500 team in league and being where they are right now at 2 and 10. Yeah.

Speaker 121066.76s - 1075.18s

I'm encouraged. Like, I'm encouraged when I see lines for Joey Gilbert two hits, two rocks, seven strikeouts, doesn't give up an earned run.

Speaker 111077.8s - 1097.36s

I mean, that gives me hope. Right. And we've talked about their lineup and, you know, they've got players. And they do have a decent mix of young and veterans. Like, Sepo and Tesluck, I think think are going to be probably the three four hitters for the next couple of years you're not going to have to worry about those spots um just the top of that order is going to go

Speaker 01097.36s - 1103.78s

bub by after yeah uh this season and there's going to be some firepower to replace but um i

Speaker 121104.62s - 1105.64s

pH is improving they just still have a ways to go want firepower to replace. But pH is improving.

Speaker 01105.76s - 1107.18s

They just still have a ways to go.

Speaker 111108.14s - 1109.42s

Want to go to your game?

Speaker 121109.54s - 1118.12s

Well, no, let's stay in the blue because Northern was playing Lance Cruz PERSON. They lost the first game of the series and extra innings early in the week,

Speaker 111118.58s - 1121.9s

where they had a bad 10th, gave up four runs or something like that.

Speaker 01121.9s - 1124.42s

They bounced back nicely on Wednesday.

Speaker 121124.68s - 1141.66s

They did. A 16 to 1 cake walk led by Taylor Falls ORG, who had three hits, including a double and a home run. He knocked in two. Aiden Wynn PERSON had a couple of hits in an RBI. Kagan Finn with two hits and two RBIs.And Kavani PERSON and I'm not in.

Speaker 111141.72s - 1152.56s

Pajari PERSON. Yeah, what you said. He had two hits and four RBIs and runs like the wind. So Northern ORG evened it up and you're thinking. I was hoping this would be the game.

Speaker 121152.84s - 1160.18s

Yeah, you're thinking, okay, they're on track. They're going to take this series. And then yesterday's result, they lose 11 to 9.

Speaker 111160.88s - 1166.6s

After the 16 to 1 game, I went, okay, they lost a game, they should have beat Lans Cruising ORG.

Speaker 121167.26s - 1177.04s

It had a coming to Jesus, and they went out, and they unloaded a couple weeks worth of frustration on Lans Cruz ORG.

Speaker 111178.6s - 1233.54s

All right, they're starting to turn it around a little bit. The offense is coming because Taylor Falls and struggled at times this year at the plate, and he has some big hits. Kavani Hajari with the four RBIs, and I'm liking what I see, and then you go out and you're down 10-0 to Lans Cruzbefore the third inning's even over. Yeah, you fought back, and you only lost 11 to 9, but I saw Lans Cruz ORG. No disrespect to them, but Northern should be beating Lons Cruz in a three-game series. And you go out after winning 16 to 1 and you lay an egg. I don't know if you thought, oh, all right, we did it.We're hitting now. Don't have to worry about it. But I have to be honest, a little disappointed with Northern ORG in the series because if you go back to Monday show, we talked about Northern ORG, not only is this a winnable series,

Speaker 121233.62s - 1245.84s

this is one they should sweep and really feel good about themselves. Yeah, I'm not going to pull any punches on this one either, that they lost this series shocked me and disappointed me. And now it's going to be any punches on this one either. That they lost this series shocked me and

Speaker 111245.84s - 1255.96s

disappointed me. And now it's going to be PH and Northern next week and someone's going to at least get a little bit of momentum going into the end of the year. Yeah, because

Speaker 121255.96s - 1268.42s

somebody's got to win that series. My question is, who's it going to be? Who's going to perk up? You know, you shouldn't need much motivation just because it's your biggest rival.

Speaker 111268.82s - 1304.02s

No, and both sides are going, okay, we can take advantage of this team where Porteeron, yeah, they're 2 and 10, and they've lost 9 straight. I guess the saving graces, the 9 straight they've lost are the top 3 teams in the league. And for the most part, they've been or to the top three teams in the league. And for the most part, they've been competitive. But at some point for PH, especially with the season starting to wind down, competitive isn't the goal anymore.Got to start winning some games. So next week, going to be a three game set with PH in Northern ORG. And I'm very curious to see who takes advantage of it.

Speaker 121304.08s - 1326.06s

Yeah, who steps up and who wants this more. In the 11-9 game yesterday, Ryan Furlastro had three hits, double in an RBI. Owen Hill had two hits and knocked in four. Taylor Falls with two more hits, two RBIs, and Owen Connor PERSON had a hit and an RBI. Plenty of hitting for the Huskies in the last two games of that series, but especially early in the game yesterday.

Speaker 111326.06s - 1328.66s

You just can't.

Speaker 121330.32s - 1332.14s

I'm not even sure how that happened.

Speaker 111333.72s - 1336.5s

Because Northern ORG's pitching had been pretty solid.

Speaker 121336.8s - 1338.86s

That was the part I thought was good.

Speaker 111338.86s - 1348.78s

And I believe they made a handful of errors, but still, it's, um, yeah, it's, it's just frustrating. Let's go to your game back on Wednesday.

Speaker 121348.78s - 1423.18s

Yeah, so in the gold, three-way tie for first, uh, and, uh, the Cousinot ORG was playing Sterling Heights, so they had a by week this week, uh, and they were going to go to 10 and 1 in league play. That left, Marine City and Lamphfier both at 9 and 1 going into Wednesday's game in the winner would keep pace with Cousinol ORG and the loser would drop a game back. And this onestarted out with a 1-2-3 top of the first and then there were base runners galore all over the place but neither team could really do anything with it. Mariners left a runner at thirdin the first. In the second Lamfier left the it. Mariners left a runner at third in the first. In the second, Lamfier PERSON left the bases loaded. Mariners left two guys on in the second. Finally in the third, you had a one-out single, then a pop-up to short for the second out. Then Zayden Claire PERSON got a single,a wild pitch, put runners at second and third. And Jackson Riddle PERSON, a left-hand hitter, went opposite way. He hit a deep fly ball to left. Right away out and left, Nick Refino PERSON was telling the center fielder, I can't see the ball. Right.I don't know where it is. And the center fielder, Dakota ORG dropped and he came over and said, I can't help you. I can't see it either.

Speaker 111423.74s - 1428.26s

Because, yes, Wednesday, while the wind was cold, the sun never really went away.

Speaker 121428.92s - 1460.58s

And we had weird clouds in the sky in Marine City GPE. We had stretches where it was really bright and sunny and stretches where it was really gray and cloudy. And, you know, a baseball against a dark storm cloud. It's hard to see. Right. And this ball was skyrocketed. It's hard to see. Right. They, they, and this ball was skyrocketed. They didn't see it. They heard it splashed down behind them because left field was a swamp. So they were communicating. They just both said, all right, we're both SOL. Yeah, we just got to wait and hope it doesn't hit one of us in the head.

Speaker 111460.64s - 1464.28s

Yeah, put a push your glove above your head and hope it falls into it.

Speaker 121464.36s - 1526.54s

And so because of that, it ends up being a two-run double. And for a long time in this game, Brady, it looked like those are going to be the only two-run scored. I mean, we had a two-nothing gamegoing into the bottom of the seventh and the Mariners had had chances throughout the ball game, but really they hadn't had a threat since about the fourth inning. They went out one, two, three, and the fifth. They had a two-out walk in the sixth, but made an out. So they start the seventh at the top of the batting order, and I guess if you want to rally, that's a good place to start. Danny Van der Viver PERSON drew a walk. The next batter, Paul Muscat, raked one into right center and Van der Viver was going first to third no matter what, but Muscat PERSON decided, I'm going to try to get a hustle double out of this, and he made it in. So they've got second and third with nobody out. And Atkinson coming to the plate, and you're like, this is a good situation. The Mariners can come back here.

Speaker 01526.98s - 1529.42s

And Atkinson ripped a single. He just hit it too hard.

Speaker 121529.7s - 1549.7s

So only one run scored, and you had first and third. Then Atkinson was on the move, and Cooper Lettson PERSON hit a ground ball to short. And the shortstop really only had one play. Take the out at first because you need an out. There's nobody out in the inning. And you figure you give up the tying run, get the out, try to prevent the big inning.

Speaker 21550.16s - 1555.8s

Right. So the run scored were tied at two. They intentionally walked Nick Raffino PERSON.

Speaker 121556.44s - 1563.62s

Atkinson steals third. Then there's a wild pitch that's enough for Rufino to get to second,

Speaker 21563.62s - 1565.56s

but not for Atkinson to try to score.

Speaker 121566.02s - 1585.08s

So second and third, there's still only one out in the inning. But, and this kid was, his name was Logan Cole PERSON. He pitches out of the stretch, Brady. But when nobody is on, he has one of those Japanese NORP high leg kicks, where you kind of hold it and he looks like, I don't know,

Speaker 111585.1s - 1597.56s

was it with a deodomo or Otani PRODUCT? Well, when the legs like almost just straight the whole time? It just comes up and it's really high and then he brings it down and he kind of shot puts the ball at home plate.

Speaker 121598.4s - 1640.44s

Sometimes he throws it hard, but for the most part, he doesn't really put a lot on it. He's not like, he doesn't have some devastating curveball or slider or change up or anything. And he's one of those guys where you look at it and go, oh, boy, I'm going to have a big day today. And then in the seventh inning, you're sitting on the bench going, how am I O for three? Right. Because he just keeps guys off balance and he's weird. And somehow he pitched out of this jam. They stuck with him. Northrop PERSON struck out. Right, because he just keeps guys off balance and he's weird. And somehow he pitched out of this jam. They stuck with him. Northrop PERSON struck out. And then Andrew Cienar PERSON, of course, hit a fly ball out to center field. That would have been plenty deep enough to score Parker Hackinson PERSON.But it's the third out. And now we've got extra innings.

Speaker 111642.16s - 1646.44s

And, oh, boy, do we have extra innings? Yeah, little did you know how many extra innings you would have.

Speaker 121646.8s - 1654.64s

Nobody scored in the ninth. Nobody scored in the eighth. Nobody scored in the ninth. Nobody scored in the 10th. Nobody scored in the 11th.

Speaker 111654.68s - 1656.28s

And no one really threatened either, did you?

Speaker 121656.28s - 1669.52s

No, not really. So we go to the top of the 12th. And after the leadoff hitter grounds out to first, um, Parker Atkinson PERSON, who did a great job in relief, hits the number nine hitter. And you're like, uh-oh.

Speaker 01669.86s - 1673.04s

In the 12th inning, this is not good.

Speaker 21673.46s - 1678.48s

Then the next batter gets a single. So now you've got first and second with one out.

Speaker 121679.28s - 1709s

And you've got a kid named Gavin Abbott PERSON. He's a left-hand hitter. He only went one for six in the game, but he hit the ball hard about three or four of his at-bats. He's got a good swing. He pops the ball up into the center of the infieldjust in front of a second base. Umpire calls infield fly-roll. So now the batter's out. Yes. Doesn't matter what happens to the ball. And Marine City GPE actually teaches their infielders on this play to drop the ball.

Speaker 21710s - 1714.5s

So because maybe a kid will not be thinking.

Speaker 121714.66s - 1717.22s

Right. And, oh, it's first and second, I have to run here.

Speaker 101717.36s - 1717.66s

Right.

Speaker 121717.88s - 1729.56s

And that's what happened. The kid from second went too far off the bag. And they caught him trying to get back to the bag for an inning-ending double play now there was a lot of confusion even i was confused for a second as to what it

Speaker 01729.56s - 1735.5s

actually happened but once i thought about i'm like okay one out with the batter because he called

Speaker 121735.5s - 1741.98s

the field fly roll and okay yeah they got the kid going back to the base so there was a confusing

Speaker 01741.98s - 1747.94s

moment lamp fear was a little upset they probably are still upset because they ended up losing the ball game,

Speaker 121748.14s - 1751.9s

but in the end, it was actually the right call.

Speaker 111751.9s - 1756.4s

Well, and you were able to get very solid confirmation what the call was from the umpire.

Speaker 121756.52s - 1766.96s

Yeah. Unfortunately, I know the umpire pretty well. He did a good job. He's by himself, too. 12- inning game for a guy that gimps around. He did all right.

Speaker 111767.46s - 1770.04s

You know the stuckies are going to get cranky with 12-in-in-game.

Speaker 121770.42s - 1832.56s

He didn't throw anybody out of the game, though. All right, so then we came to the bottom of the 12th, and you're thinking, okay, the Mariners just pulled that off. Let's pull off a victory. Cooper Lettson PERSON leads off with a single. Nick Refino PERSON gets a single. They send up Connor O'Croy to sacrifice the runners over, which again, that's the play. And he laid down a perfect bunt out in front of the plate. Catcher picks it up. And he sails it out into right field. Not even close. As soon as he let go of the ball, Mariners win. Right. It's not even claw. He threw it so far away from the guy covering the bag that this is easy. Letson scored from second. Mariners walk it off three to twoon a sacrifice and an error. And a weird way to end an epic battle that goes 12 innings. Three to two, the Mariners win it, and it temporarily put them into a first place tie with Cousno and bump Lamfeer PERSON game back.

Speaker 01833.22s - 1844.9s

Unfortunately, the rematch yesterday at Lamfeer's place, and the Rams ORG come up with the five to one win, and the Muscat PERSON had a double, and that was about all for Marine City

Speaker 121844.9s - 1845.52s

in that game. So now Marine City GPE in that game.

Speaker 111845.52s - 1863.04s

So now Marine City is a game back of Cousineau, but they have not played the Patriots ORG yet. So they'll get two cracks at them and a chance to at least, well, they have to sweep because a split keeps them a game back. So they need to take two from Cousinot ORG.

Speaker 121863.18s - 1865s

Because the goal plays just two games here.

Speaker 111865.08s - 1866.04s

That's those weirdos.

Speaker 121866.24s - 1868.84s

Well, they also have like eight teams in their leagues.

Speaker 111869.04s - 1869.32s

I know.

Speaker 121869.32s - 1883.24s

They actually end up playing, I think, just about as many league games, but only about three that matter. So what do you think of Marine City GPE? Because that's the first time we've seen them in a while and to get a in-person look at them.

Speaker 111883.68s - 1883.86s

Yeah.

Speaker 121884.42s - 1910.66s

I had forgotten. And it's only been since football season, but I had forgotten just how fast, how athletic, and how good Parker Atkinson PERSON is. And they were telling me that he was coming off a groin injury, so they didn't play him in center field because they didn't want him running around too much, and yet he played some shortstop, he pitched the four in innings he was really solid in relief in the game Wednesday and he was

Speaker 01910.66s - 1916.06s

good at the plate he had real good swings and he was running around the bases he stole a couple of bases

Speaker 111916.06s - 1927.9s

I mean I really like him muscat um how do I want to describe him like like gritty Like I won't say he pitched a terrific ball game,

Speaker 121928.18s - 1929.46s

but he went eight innings.

Speaker 01929.64s - 1936s

He made the big pitch when he needed to. He went eight innings, and the two runs that he gave up were on a lost fly ball.

Speaker 121936.78s - 1985.22s

He had a lot of traffic, but he pitched through it. All of the Mariners in the eighth inning turned an amazing double play, a 361 double play that was a thing of beauty. So he was involved in on that as well. And again, Van DeViver PERSON up at the top of the order, he got on base four times. He gets his bat on the ball. I like this team. You know how much I like Cooper Luton PERSON, and I know you like him too. Rafino PERSON is another one. No Northrop had a tough day, but he did something that I really like. Yeah?Because O'Croy PERSON replaced him. He was the guy they sent out to Bunn. And Northrop PERSON was, he was pissed.

Speaker 21985.76s - 1987.56s

He's like, you're hitting for me.

Speaker 121987.66s - 1998.16s

I can, I can get this bunt down. Right. And they're like, we're, we're going to do this. And, you know, and he was mad. And I like that. That tells me something.

Speaker 01998.52s - 2004.22s

That tells me a kid cares. That tells me that a kid's got some pride. Right.

Speaker 122004.38s - 2007.14s

And I think that's up and down this lineup.

Speaker 22007.32s - 2009.16s

Again, you got a lot of football guys.

Speaker 122009.32s - 2009.62s

Right.

Speaker 112009.7s - 2010.5s

They're used to winning.

Speaker 122010.84s - 2012.76s

I don't think they like losing.

Speaker 112013.04s - 2013.48s

No.

Speaker 122013.72s - 2016.5s

And I think they're going to be ready to go against Cousinot ORG.

Speaker 112016.62s - 2016.88s

Yeah.

Speaker 122017s - 2020.56s

So I think they're a pretty solid team up and down.

Speaker 112021.28s - 2044.9s

Anchor Bay is a really solid team up and down, and they took it to St. Clair in two games. Two games at Jimmy Johns Field FAC. Anchor Bay 10, St. Clair 1. Anchor Bay 8, St. Clair 1. In a vacuum, there's no shame in losing to Anchor Bay ORG like this twice. It just, it's not the right time for St. Clair GPE because they need to find some wins, and Anchor Bay ORG is not the team to do it against.

Speaker 122045.46s - 2054.24s

Yeah, this is tough. And some point you wonder when it really starts to wear on the kids like

Speaker 112054.24s - 2060.66s

their train of thought because I want to believe that they know they're a better team than this.

Speaker 122060.66s - 2066.14s

Right. They just, what they got the one walk off against Gross Point North ORG. They beat

Speaker 112066.14s - 2089.92s

Utica, I think, in the first or second game of that series, and they beat Notre Dame Prep. Those are their three wins this year. Now I'll get to see them today as they try to steal one from Anchor Bay ORG. And again, Anchor Bay ORG is a team that people are sayingare one of the tops in D1 LOC. So you're talking about one of the top teams just in the state period. But St. Clair GPE's struggling. And they and running out of time to figure it out.

Speaker 122090.22s - 2090.38s

Yeah.

Speaker 112090.98s - 2098.46s

And that's a shame because that's a team that, again, we had some real high expectations for.

Speaker 122098.64s - 2100.04s

And it may still pay off.

Speaker 22100.44s - 2104.84s

But the regular season is kind of a wash.

Speaker 122105.08s - 2109.92s

They've got to be thinking about we've got to get better and get ready for districts. Right.

Speaker 112110.7s - 2114.92s

And, well, that's, again, that's why they make the tough schedule so they can win in the postseason.

Speaker 122115.48s - 2122.16s

All right, we'll see how that goes. We also had some BWAC scores and a big win for Mooney PERSON, but we'll get to that in the next segment.

Speaker 122329.18s - 2335.74s

Probably should have asked you before we came back. So do they play the final at Comerica Park FAC?

Speaker 112335.78s - 2338.86s

The final of the Catholic League ORG will be at the corner ballpark.

Speaker 122339.26s - 2340.12s

Oh, the corner ballpark.

Speaker 112340.12s - 2342s

Yeah, which is where they played it last year.

Speaker 122342.22s - 2349.16s

Because Mooney's heading back to the Catholic League finals because George Zep PERSON was electric.

Speaker 112349.72s - 2351.32s

Dennis, what did you say on Wednesday?

Speaker 122351.82s - 2355.48s

Too many one hitters can't get a no hitter. Too many one hitters can't get a no hitter.

Speaker 112355.64s - 2369.82s

And George Zep seven innings, no hits, no earned, walked three, struck out 13 as Mooney beats Lutheran North ORG, two to nothing to advance back to the Catholic League finals.

Speaker 82369.82s - 2372.32s

But grade your business with quality computer solutions.

Speaker 112372.62s - 2373.74s

You're all in one item.

Speaker 122374.04s - 2375.12s

I don't know what just happened there.

Speaker 112375.62s - 2394.16s

He accidentally clicked it. All right. There's a free plug. But Mooney's back in the Catholic League ORG finals. They will play either Jackson, Lumen, Christi, or Dearborn GPE, Divine Child. That game actually happens today.

Speaker 122394.98s - 2395.94s

I think it'll be D.C.

Speaker 112396.06s - 2408.38s

And they've been playing D.C. GPE a lot. That's who they beat in the finals a year ago. Good for Mooney PERSON. Like I said, they're rolling. The Valley LOC is rocking and rolling.

Speaker 02408.88s - 2410.66s

The no-hitter for George Zep PERSON.

Speaker 22411.38s - 2413.02s

Mooney only had two runs in this game.

Speaker 02413.12s - 2416s

They had one RBI, Anthony Gurling PERSON, drove in the only run.

Speaker 112416s - 2433.94s

It was 2-0 after one, and then nobody else scored. Wow. And Mooney PERSON's pitching has really propelled them to this point because it feels like the over-under for their total runs has to be at like five for every game. So now I'm going to do this.

Speaker 62434.76s - 2436.5s

Holy moly guacamole.

Speaker 112436.62s - 2437.42s

There you go.

Speaker 62437.62s - 2438.64s

Is that what you were trying?

Speaker 122438.82s - 2440.4s

That's for the Zeppers ORG, no hair.

Speaker 62440.94s - 2444.36s

So this is Mooney PERSON in their last handful of games.

Speaker 122444.36s - 2448.64s

Basically, since they gave up that, what was it,

Speaker 112448.64s - 2457.74s

18 Burger to Lutheran North ORG, they haven't given up, they haven't given up more than two runs, excuse me, three runs in a game,

Speaker 122457.86s - 2466.22s

and that was in a 13 to 3 victory. And that just goes to show, okay, Lutheran North scored 18 runs on them in a game that nobody remembers now.

Speaker 112466.4s - 2466.76s

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 22467.62s - 2471.8s

In their last six games, they have given up two runs.

Speaker 112471.92s - 2478.1s

They have five shutouts, and they're five and one. That's pretty good. Mooney PERSON is...

Speaker 122478.1s - 2480.04s

Tough to be beaten when you can't get a run against you.

Speaker 112480.04s - 2506.6s

Mooney PERSON is a wagon now, and I'm here to declare it. I'm here to plant my flag. I think they are rocking and rolling. I don't know if they'll win the Catholic League because Divine Child ORG is a really good team, and that's probably close to a 50-50 game.I know that if I'm a D-4 team and I see Cardinal Mooney ORG as a hurdle, I'm going, uh-oh, this is going to be tough. Yeah.

Speaker 122507.08s - 2521.82s

I like it. I like it. And, of course, another team that we've been calling a wagon for a while, Algonac started Wednesday off with a 5-1 win over Croslux ORG. Crosslex was actually winning one to nothing, what, in the sixth?

Speaker 112521.82s - 2537.66s

I think going into the six, and then Algonac pushed across five runs. They found it. Bryce Simpson locked in, seven innings, one hit, no earned three walks, eight Ks. I guess if there's one knock against Alginak is they only throw one hitters.

Speaker 122537.74s - 2541.78s

I was going to say they do seem to give up a couple unerned runs.

Speaker 112541.92s - 2556.14s

The defense has been a little shaky this year because it feels like when they win 5 to 2 or 6 to 3 or only one or none of the runs were earned. And that could come back to bite you in a big game.

Speaker 122556.34s - 2561.9s

And when your pitcher only gives up one hit and you're still giving up a run. It does make a wonder.

Speaker 112561.9s - 2564.16s

So if you parlay

Speaker 122564.16s - 2607.58s

those together, I can see how one gets across. But Algonac ORG sweeps the series. Matt Ricks had two hits. Josh Kasner had two hits and drove and run. And Jake Lovelace had a hit in two RBIs. Yeah.So the muskrats being the muskrats. How about Armada beating Richmond six to two? Landon Hill goes 6, scatters 5 hits, gives up an earn run, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts. Jarrett Hill doubles, drives in 2.T.J. Seiler PERSON picks up a couple of hits. The Benetti PERSON's were good. Dom had 3 hits. Anthony had a double in 2 RBI's, but Richmond has kind of struggledsince the start of the season when they got off to a really hot start.

Speaker 112607.78s - 2619.38s

I mean, struggled yet. This loss was a tough one, especially after they handled game one. But Armada's five and five, but two of those wins are out in Hack in Richmond ORG.

Speaker 122621.58s - 2622.38s

What?

Speaker 112622.68s - 2647.1s

We talk about the landmines going through this league. But if you would have told me Armada has two wins, one over Algonac, one over Richmond after 10 games, I sure as hell wouldn't have thought they were five and five. So that tells me they can beat any team, but they can lose to any team on any given day. But good for Armada ORG. They always seem to clip Richmond ORG.It feels like this is a split every single year.

Speaker 122647.74s - 2650.04s

Yeah. Elmont beats Emily City GPE,

Speaker 112650.04s - 2651.74s

12-0-0. Bad, bad, bad, Tyler

Speaker 122651.74s - 2679s

Brown, six innings, three hits. No earn runs, no walks, 11Ks, plus he gets two knocks and drives in two runs. Luke Mantini had two hits. Blake Lane PERSON hadthree hits, a double and six RBI's, Aiden Furkeron with two hits. Luke Mantini had two hits. Blake Lane had three hits, a double and six RBI's. Aiden Furkeron with two hits. Luke Winkler PERSON doubled twice, drove in a run. Zach Koval had two hits in an RBI. Austin Swain had two hits and an RBI. I think the Bat Boy PERSON had a hit as well.

Speaker 112679.26s - 2692.96s

Yeah, Almont took care of Emily City GPE in this series. And coming down the stretch with four games to go in the BWAC Alganac has a two game lead on North Branch again I don't think Alganac ORG's tripping

Speaker 122692.96s - 2696.16s

No no I know they have to play

Speaker 112696.16s - 2715.98s

Emily City GPE still and I believe the other team they play Elmont ORG next week and then Emily City and we talked about it Elmont ORG is technically in the race, but likely not. So you might not even get Almont ORG's best because they might be saving it for district time.Yeah.

Speaker 122716.14s - 2722.74s

At this point, you got to think about how you set it up so that Lane ORG pitches in the game that you want them to pitch in. Right.

Speaker 112723.14s - 2730.24s

And does pitching, we talked about it last show, does pitching Wednesday or pitching next week help or hurt them in a possible district final?

Speaker 122730.46s - 2735.7s

Yeah. But we will see because I believe one of us is going to be at that game. All right.

Speaker 112736.04s - 2757.08s

There's just a couple others. Notre Dame beat Cross Lex 16 to 4 yesterday. Jet Weeder PERSON had a couple of hits. Nick Monzo PERSON had a couple of hits. And Armada knocked off New Haven 6 to 3. Dylan Cameron PERSON doubled.Adam Sauer had two hits and an RBI, hitting an RBI for Lucas Pratt PERSON. Luke Pretty PERSON with a hit and an RBI. And our man, Ryan Ching,

Speaker 122757.56s - 2761.16s

had a hit and an RBI in the game as well.

Speaker 112762s - 2766.58s

And Armada, I think that's the second time they beat New Haven this year. I think they had like a home at home with them.

Speaker 122766.7s - 2783.2s

Yeah, you know, those two schools are closer together than you think. Right. Like Armada, New Haven, and Richmond ORG are, they're all neighbors. Right. And if you threw Memphis in the mix, you'd have a nice little 14 league where nobody had to go more than 15 minutes to get to a game.

Speaker 112783.3s - 2805.24s

And only two schools would ever win that league. Yes, that's true. But that's all the baseball. We had a okay amount of softball. Actually, not that much. We did have a no-hitter.You saw Marysville against St. Clair and Marine City put up 33 runs in a doubleheader. Is that all?

Speaker 122805.74s - 2806.16s

Slackers.

Speaker 112808.1s - 2808.6s

We'll get to all of that in our final segment.

Speaker 122991.46s - 3028.98s

All right, welcome back. Just a handful of games on Wednesday, Northern Outslugged Memphis, 13 to 12, Brady. Abriana Bellinger, two hits, two RBIs. Madison Ramo had three hits, a couple of doubles, two RBIs. Ariana Hagan, four hits, a double in an RBI. Ellie Hagan added two hits a double and three RBIs,and Alexis Umbright with two hits in the win for the Huskies NORP. Let me get this right, because I think this is what you told me this morning. Stony Creek 6, M.A. City GPE won. Faith Shriver PERSON didn't give up an earned run in the loss. Correct.

Speaker 113030.98s - 3034.2s

So all six runs were oner. All six, I believe, let me double check, but I believe.

Speaker 123034.32s - 3036.06s

They had a case of the dropses in this one.

Speaker 113036.06s - 3044.26s

Yeah, when we were going through our gaggle of scores, I believe that was the case that Emily City GPE,

Speaker 123044.44s - 3047.98s

I mean, I really don't know if Stony Creek FAC's good,

Speaker 23048.14s - 3048.86s

bad, and different.

Speaker 113049s - 3060.86s

I know Emily City is a pretty solid team, but yeah, in this one, for Schreiber PERSON, yeah, no earned runs, gave up six hits, one wall, no walks. Oh.

Speaker 123061.3s - 3083.26s

Only six Emily City GPE errors. Six Emily City GPE errors. That'll hurt you. Better a non-league game than a league game. Yes, yeah. And they got out from under the shadow of Katie's shoeboy and Armada rips 20 hits in a 14-0-0-1 over Eisenhower ORG.Taylor Capozo throws a five-inning no-hitter, which is recognized.

Speaker 113083.5s - 3087.66s

You have to go at least five. Almost to perfecto what she hit one, and there was one error. Yeah.

Speaker 123088.62s - 3108.12s

Four strikeouts in that one. She also added two hits. Helena Fetu had three hits knocked in two. Andrea Cox had three hits, a double drove in four. Olivia Heb had two hits, a double in an RBI. Jenna Mayday with four hits and three RBI's,and Olivia Keelman with two hits and an RBI, and Mayday with four hits and three RBIs. And Olivia Keelman with two hits and an RBI.

Speaker 113108.32s - 3112.2s

And that was Wednesday's action. And I know you like Capozo PERSON as a pitcher. I do.

Speaker 123112.2s - 3117.04s

And while Eisenhower is last in the Mac Red ORG, they're still in the Mac Red.

Speaker 103117.24s - 3117.8s

The Mac Red ORG team.

Speaker 123117.96s - 3121.88s

They didn't do this against the Mac Gold ORG team that's struggling.

Speaker 103122.3s - 3124.5s

And that's a nice job by Capozo PERSON.

Speaker 123126.06s - 3128.08s

Yeah. She just keeps people off balance and gets a lot of

Speaker 113128.08s - 3149.3s

ground balls, Brady. Right. She's a really nice pitcher for Armada ORG. She's just in a league where there's elite pitchers and she does a really good job and I think the theme you said it's funny what happens when you're not facingKatie Shoeboy PERSON. It's funny what happens when you're not facing Gracie Maloney PERSON because what has Marysville ORG done since being shut down by Dakota ORG is put up runs. Yes.

Speaker 123149.84s - 3258.1s

And 10 more of them yesterday. This was an interesting game though because the final score is going to be 10 to 5. This is a 3-3 game after 4. The Saints ORG were hanging with them and Audrey Schindler PERSON was doing a pretty goodjob kind of matching Ryan Quain PERSON. Marysville jumped out on top in the first inning. Avery Woodard singled, went to second on a ground out, scored on a Jade Schiller PERSON single. She went to a second on a throw to the plate, and then Avery Walters PERSON hit a ground ball. Should have been an easy out. The throw was high to first, got away, run scores. It'stwo nothing, Marysville after one. Saints came right back, Addy Blank doubled, went to third on a ground ball, scored on a tap of the Furlin sacrifice fly. So it's a two to one ball game after one. Stayed that way until the fourth. Walters let off the fourth with a triple. Vaggie PERSON drove her in with a sacrifice fly. Three one for the Vikings ORG. Saints came right back with two in the bottom of the fourth with a triple. Vaggy drove her in with a sacrifice fly. 3-1 for the Vikings. Saints came right back with two in the bottom of the fourth with one out. Rochelle Schweyhofer lined one over the left field fence for a home run to make it a 3-2 game.Maddie Treat PERSON doubled. Badger singled her over to 3rd and Addie Blank had a sacrifice fly out to right and the game was tied 3-3 to 3. Going into the fifth in the fifth nagan let off with a double then schiller hit a ball where again we got throwing errors and things going all over the place so nagan scores schiller ends up in scoring position walters drives her in and it's five to three.Would they have still scored or run that inning? Yes. Would they have scored two? No. So to me, it's five to three, but if you take out the miscues, it's a three-three ball game.

Speaker 23266.04s - 3266.14s

And these are the things that Marysville takes advantage of, and the Saints ORG have to learn to take advantage of,

Speaker 123268.46s - 3272.1s

but they also have to stop doing it for other teams. Didn't we do this segment already? Yeah, it feels like it.

Speaker 23272.12s - 3273.02s

Is there an echo in here?

Speaker 123273.52s - 3353.58s

And then we had the sixth inning. A single by Clara Moore PERSON. She moves to second on a groundout, while pitched over to third. Ground out gets her in. So two outs, nobody nobody on six three ball gameuh but then nagan single shillers single walters with a two run double vegy with a two run home run out to the parking lot uh and the next thing you know it's a 103 ball game and you're like where did this how did this happen right uh the saints would get a load up the bases with nobody out in the sixth. They got a sack fly from Badger PERSON who had a shot out to center field, but they couldn't do any more damage than that. So it was 10-4 going into the ninth. And again, a little two-out rally. Audrey Schindler PERSON singled in a run. There were a couple people on base when the game ended, but 10-5 would be your final score. Three RBI games for Walters and Vaggy PERSON. Vaggy were their sixth home run of the season, and Walters PERSON was a homer shy of the cycle.Got on base four times yesterday. I don't know what else more you want her to do. Plus, she makes all the plays at third. And I want to say this. Maddie Cole PERSON didn't get a hit. She was 0 for 3 with a walk, but at third base, she want to say this. Maddie Cole didn't get a hit. She was old for three with a walk. But at third base, she had a day yesterday. They were playing pepper with her and she made every play.

Speaker 113354.58s - 3362.2s

Good. Marysville 8-0 in league. That win basically makes it a two-team race. There's four games left.

Speaker 123363.1s - 3367.94s

And it's Utica and Marysville ORG for that title.

Speaker 113368.46s - 3373.46s

Marysos 8-0, Utica GPE's 7-1, the only loss is when Marysville beat Utica.

Speaker 123373.7s - 3381.76s

Yeah, the Saints slipped to 5 and 3, so they would need a lot of help because they need two teams in front of them to lose.

Speaker 113382.96s - 3403.14s

And they don't get any more chances at Marysville ORG. Yeah. So Marysville ORG, they just keep rolling. I mean, their losses this year or to what? They lost to Dakota ORG. They've lost to Marine City GPE twice.Mm-hmm. And who was their last loss? I think it was early in the season, wasn't it?

Speaker 23403.32s - 3405.54s

Or did they split at Romeo GPE, I think.

Speaker 123405.7s - 3409.48s

They lost to Anchor Bay in the first game. I did that game. Okay. Yeah.

Speaker 113409.58s - 3419.04s

So they've lost to Anchor Bay, Mac Red School, Dakota, Mac Red School, Marine City twice, who's 14 and 2 and leading the blue. Yeah.

Speaker 123420.3s - 3421.8s

They're very solid.

Speaker 113424.1s - 3428.2s

I'll say their pitching is bend but don't break.

Speaker 123429.42s - 3432.36s

Like, again, they use quain.

Speaker 113432.48s - 3433.12s

They use more.

Speaker 123433.24s - 3434.04s

They use baggy.

Speaker 23434.96s - 3440.64s

And they're all like, they knuckle down and get the outs when they need to.

Speaker 123441.04s - 3464.7s

Like they don't really give up the big inning. They might get runners on. You might get hits against them. But they scatter't really give up the big inning. They might get runners on. You might get hits against them, but they scatter it and they get the outs. And they're not high volume strikeouts, but their strikeouts come when you need a strikeout.Right. So they're good that way. And then offensively, I just, I cannot ridicule this team up and down the lineup, all three of their teams.

Speaker 03464.9s - 3472.8s

Because I joke with Ryan Ratchy PERSON. I said before the St. Clair GPE game, I said, you got enough that you could make two rosters and they'd finish in first and second.

Speaker 113473.76s - 3474.76s

You got a pretty deep team.

Speaker 123475.56s - 3477.38s

And all he said is, we're blessed.

Speaker 113478.86s - 3483.72s

So, like, they just, they can hit.

Speaker 123484.62s - 3485.4s

Marine City GPE can hit. Marine City can hit.

Speaker 113485.82s - 3486.96s

Marine City GPE can really hit.

Speaker 123487.2s - 3490.04s

33 runs in a doubleheader against Lans Cruz ORG.

Speaker 113490.16s - 3491.18s

They give up five.

Speaker 123491.96s - 3496.2s

12, 2 in game one, 21 to 3 in game two.

Speaker 113496.38s - 3498.66s

They're up 21, nothing in that game.

Speaker 03498.66s - 3499s

Yes.

Speaker 113500.94s - 3545.68s

Let's go through the conga line. In game one, Maya Simon's a hit in two RBIs. Alyssa Chartier, three hits, two doubles four RBIs. Graceland Hobbs, three hits in RBI. Page Nelson, three hits with a pair of doubles and an RBI. And then they got better. In game two, Julia Lutzin, two hits. Jocelyn Dietland, two hits in RBI. Madison Makiya hit in two RBIs. Alyssa Chartier, three hits, a triple, a home run, six RBI. So for the day, six hits in RBI. Madison Macchia hit in two RBIs. Alyssa Chartier, three hits, a triple, a home run, six RBIs. So for the day, six hits, two doubles,a triple, a home run, 10 RBIs. Pretty good day for Shartier PERSON. Jade Blanchard, two hits, a triple RBI. Turhune, two hits, double. Reese Atkinson, three hits, twoRBIs, and Marine City GPE just keeps getting better.

Speaker 123546.42s - 3554.7s

Yes, they do. Yes, they do. Now, I realize Lance Cruz PERSON is struggling, but that's what you do to a struggling team. You put them in the dirt.

Speaker 113562.44s - 3592.12s

Let me ask you this, Dennis, because Chartier is having a really nice season. Like, one of the best in the area. If I just asked you, Jocelyn Dietlin and Alyssa Chartier are two of the blank best hitters in the area, where would you put them? Because that is probably, as like a duo. They're probably the best duo, but just if you, just hitters off the dome, two of the what best hitters in the area? Right now. Five, two of the

Speaker 123592.12s - 3617.48s

best five? Without having everybody's numbers in front of me, but I would imagine, I know Dietland PERSON's leading the area in home runs. Right. I'm going to guess Chartier PERSON is the RBI leader. It feels like it. And she's got six bombs after yesterday, which puts her in the top three. Right.I would say they're one and two right now. In the area?

Speaker 113617.66s - 3632.44s

Yeah. Because there are some good hitters out there. I can think of other common. Like Walter's Baggie ORG is very dangerous. I'm saying just as individual hitters. Yeah, individually.Like two of the top, what? They have to be one, too, because it's not just average.

Speaker 123633.2s - 3635.52s

So you're saying they're the two best hitters in the area, right?

Speaker 113635.56s - 3638.5s

Yeah, because you throw in average and you throw in power.

Speaker 123639.3s - 3650.4s

They hit doubles, they hit triples, they hit home runs, they drive in runs. I bet their slugging percentages are stupid. And that number that I don't even like, what is it, OPS or whatever?

Speaker 03650.64s - 3655.54s

I bet their OPSs are in the 3,000s. No, it's not.

Speaker 123656.08s - 3662.86s

But, wow, you were more bullish than I was going to say two of the top five

Speaker 113662.86s - 3688.3s

because there are some really good hitters. I know Riley Robertson PERSON is on a team that's struggling she is hitting as well as anyone um Liz shoe boy's having a really nice year Almont's had we'll talk about Almond in a minute Webster and Lock of Error having nice years uh marysville has some nice hitters I don't know if they're one to the two best hitters in the area, but I'd say they're right now two of the top five.

Speaker 123688.56s - 3697.76s

Right now, they're the two girls that I wouldn't want to pitch to. They'd be getting a lot of intentional walks with me, depending on the situation.

Speaker 113698.86s - 3702.96s

Because, yeah, Chartier PERSON is, she's an imposing presence in that box,

Speaker 123703.12s - 3706.12s

and she is smacking the ball around.

Speaker 113706.12s - 3718.78s

I mean, yeah, they're just, it's tough to get them both out and you, you throw in Blanchard and Simons PERSON.

Speaker 123719.38s - 3726.76s

I think if you stacked up all the numbers, they're one through five

Speaker 113726.76s - 3729.64s

are probably doing the most damage of anybody in the area right now.

Speaker 123730.64s - 3731.68s

I'd say so.

Speaker 113732.76s - 3737.92s

Now, just, we know I like them just to play devil's advocate.

Speaker 123738.94s - 3741.7s

I know they have not had to face a Katie Shoeboy PERSON yet.

Speaker 113742.12s - 3764.82s

They have not had to face a Gracie Maloney with the teams that have played Dakota ORG. So they have not faced the elite of elite pitching so far. Butthey're still doing a really nice job in that lineup. I think they are as talented. The best team they played was Goodrich and

Speaker 123764.82s - 3768.04s

the best one run off the Goodrich ORG pitcher.

Speaker 113768.24s - 3789.48s

But that was about the only hit they had in the game. They lost three to one in that one. So I really like them. I think they're doing really solid. And I think they are trying to stake their claim as a team that could win that districtand be the team in the area that makes the run. Because they are slugging their way to titles this year.

Speaker 123790.32s - 3803.66s

And yes, there are lots of good hitters. Northern's got a ton of hitters that are probably have numbers off the charts. But for sure, for average, for power, for production, those two are my top two right now.

Speaker 113804.02s - 3817.58s

All right. New Haven beat port here on 13 to 3. Izzy Trombly and Neely Reed PERSON each had a hit in an RBI as New Haven GPE got the sticks out. And they're having an all right season up in the blue.

Speaker 123819.42s - 3827.38s

They, you know, they're kind of a Jekyll PERSON and Hyde team. I think Ph. beat them the first time at New Haven GPE.

Speaker 113827.38s - 3833.22s

And when I saw them against St. Clair GPE, I thought, well, they can hit, but they're going to struggle with pitching.

Speaker 123833.54s - 3837.28s

And the girl that I saw struggle is the girl to be pH yesterday. Right.

Speaker 113838.32s - 3840.76s

Dakota beat Elmont 12 to 3.

Speaker 123840.92s - 3843.34s

So Dakota ORG just keeps taking down area teams.

Speaker 113843.48s - 3845.04s

They didn't pitch Gracie Maloney PERSON.

Speaker 123845.04s - 3847.98s

No, and that meant we get to say something about what Elmont ORG did.

Speaker 113848.98s - 3853.16s

Elmont actually out hit Dakota in this one, just some Almont ORG errors.

Speaker 123853.4s - 3855.98s

And I think Dakota ORG timed there's a little better.

Speaker 113856.36s - 3859.18s

Lock of error had three hits, a home run and an RBI.

Speaker 123859.38s - 3860.64s

Lauren Webster PERSON had a home run.

Speaker 113860.92s - 3881.82s

Grace Stanton had two hits and a Devjack had a two hits and a double and Gabby Carlson had a hit and an RBI in that one. And we did miss one game when we were going through and putting them on our sheet. Anchor Bay ORG beat Alginakunder the lights back on Wednesday 6 to 5 in that one. Yeah, Kennell PERSON hit a home run in that game.

Speaker 123881.82s - 3883.18s

Yeah, Kennell PERSON hit a home run.

Speaker 113883.84s - 3903.36s

J.C. Reams had two hits. Bomarito PERSON had a hit in an RBI. Morgan Reams had two hits in an RBI as Algonak actually made seven errors in this game. Yeah, that's a little spooky. Yeah. And Anchor Bay knocked them off, but again, you're playing a pretty talented MacRat ORG team.

Speaker 123903.54s - 3903.7s

Yeah.

Speaker 113904.38s - 3909.32s

And actually, J.C. Reams' PERSON stat line, because of the errors, it wasn't too bad.

Speaker 123909.44s - 3912.92s

No, only gave up two earned in six innings of play.

Speaker 113913.48s - 3919.3s

So that is all the scores from the last couple of days.

Speaker 123919.54s - 3919.78s

All right.

Speaker 113919.84s - 3923.14s

And today, Dennis, you have Northern Cousinot ORG softball.

Speaker 123923.3s - 3926.56s

And I have Anchor Bay St. Clair Baseball ORG.

Speaker 113927.08s - 3927.38s

All right.
