Speaker 00s - 11.78s

Here we're going to talk a little more about files and also about the search feature here in Teams PRODUCT. I'm going to press Control 6 PRODUCT to go to files.

Speaker 113.24s - 15.66s

File list updated semicolon 1,000 items.

Speaker 015.74s - 58.12s

All right. So I'm here in my Vesparo Teams ORG account because I wanted to show you how many items, you know, how to work with multiple items and how many items are here. So the files panel is where you're going to go to access all of your files. This may not be something that you want to do often, but if you're ever not sure where a file is, for example, if someone just says, you know, I put that file in Teams PRODUCT and you're not sure where it is, you can go here to find it. So when you press Control 6, if you are connected via OneDrive PRODUCT, if that's something that your company uses,or however you're connected, it's going to announce that for you. You can press Insert T to read the window title. That's a Jaws command.

Speaker 158.44s - 60.44s

Title is One Drive PRODUCT vertical bar of a sparrow.

Speaker 060.72s - 73s

And so I'm connected via One Drive PRODUCT, so it's telling me that. So after pressing Control 6 PRODUCT, I can just press the tab key. Frame, add new button expanded.

Speaker 173s - 75s

And the first thing I have here is add new.

Speaker 075s - 80s

And we're going to talk a little bit about this. I'll press space to activate it.

Speaker 180s - 82s

Folder, folder menu.

Speaker 082s - 122.32s

So here it gives us some things we can add. Now folder, what this allows us to do is create a folder right here right now in this section so if you were in teams and you wanted to create a folder and upload some files to it or create some files and save them in that folder and you wanted everyone to be able to access it right now, share it with people, and for people to be able to edit that file or see any changes made to that file in real-time here in Teams PRODUCT,this is where you can go to create a folder. It may not be something you want to do very often, but the option is there if you need it, and it will allow you to create the folder right here.

Speaker 1122.9s - 124.74s

Files upload menu, 2 of 11.

Speaker 0124.94s - 135.9s

Here is where you can upload a file. So if you were to press enter here, it would take you to your standard open dialogue where you could choose a file you wanted to upload.

Speaker 1135.9s - 137.4s

Folder upload menu.

Speaker 0137.4s - 141.8s

Again, here you could upload entire folder, full of files.

Speaker 1141.8s - 143.2s

Docs Word Document menu.

Speaker 0143.2s - 186.06s

Now here we have some other options where you can just create a document on the fly. So this is for a Word PRODUCT document. So for example, if I'm here working in Teams PRODUCT and I want to create a document right here again for everyone to be able to see and access immediately and I don't have to go create that file and Word PRODUCT and then share it and upload it and things like that, I could do it right here. And it would ask me for a file name and then it would open Word PRODUCT. And then anything I type is going to be automatically saved because we're here in Teams PRODUCT. We're connected to One Drive. So it's going to be automatically saved. So the rest of these options here give you the opportunity to create different types of files.

Speaker 1186.06s - 187.76s

ExcelSX-X-L PRODUCT Workbook menu.

Speaker 0187.76s - 191.66s

There's an Excel P-PTX PowerPoint PRODUCT and so forth.

Speaker 1191.66s - 199.5s

So that's what you will find in this add menu. I'm going to press escape. Leaving menus, add new buttons.

Speaker 0199.5s - 202.12s

All right, so now I'll tab again.

Speaker 1202.12s - 204.72s

List with five items, home current page link.

Speaker 0204.72s - 221.18s

So here we have some options. We have five options. We have home, my files, share, favorites, and recycle bin. Home is selected by default. And this is where you're going to find your most recent files you've accessed. My files link.

Speaker 1221.38s - 224.24s

My files is going to show you all of your files.

Speaker 0224.7s - 225.4s

Shared link.

Speaker 1225.4s - 229.4s

Shared will show you the files you've shared and files that have been shared with you.

Speaker 0229.4s - 230.4s

Favorites link.

Speaker 1230.4s - 232.2s

And we have favorites. Recycle bin link.

Speaker 0232.2s - 233.4s

And Recycle Ben.

Speaker 1233.4s - 239.5s

Unfortunately you cannot use first letter navigation here, so I'm going to up arrow to my files.

Speaker 0239.5s - 241.9s

Favorites link. Shared link. My files link.

Speaker 1241.9s - 243.7s

And I'll press Enter.

Speaker 0243.7s - 244.9s

Zero selected.

Speaker 1244.9s - 250.7s

My files grid. Apps. Folder. And I'll press Enter. Zero selected. My files grid, apps, folder. Folder has one items, private, modified 8 slash.

Speaker 0258.86s - 261.54s

So again, here we have folders that are going to appear first before the files, just like in File Explorer. And these are in alphabetical order.

Speaker 1262.06s - 265.6s

Attachments. And so you can just, you know, down arrow through these. You could

Speaker 0265.6s - 297.38s

press enter to open the folder. And you can press enter on a file to open that file. And we talked about settings and how to go in and set teams so that files, word files, PowerPoint files, Excel PRODUCT files will open in their desktop application. So if you have it set to that, when you press enter, for example, on a Word PRODUCT file, it'll just open in Word. Otherwise, it'll open in the team's viewer and, you know, it's not going to be accessible that way.

Speaker 1297.62s - 302.08s

Recordings, full video production. So let's go down here. Access comments and go, access

Speaker 0302.08s - 307.24s

all right. So here we can shift F10 PRODUCT or applications key.

Speaker 1307.24s - 308.64s

Open menu, sub menu.

Speaker 0308.64s - 309.94s

And we get other options.

Speaker 1309.94s - 313.68s

So here you have an open sub menu where you can go.

Speaker 0313.68s - 315.32s

You can write arrow to expand that.

Speaker 1315.32s - 316.44s

Open in app menu.

Speaker 0316.44s - 318.44s

We can open the app.

Speaker 1318.44s - 320.76s

Edit and Clipchamp menu. Open and stream menu.

Speaker 0320.76s - 324.6s

And you have some options there. So we have the open sub menu.

Speaker 1324.6s - 325.54s

Open preview. You can preview. Share menu. Share you have some options there. So we have the open sub menu. Open preview

Speaker 0325.54s - 332.98s

Preview. You can preview. Share menu. Share that file with others. Copy link menu for a 15. Copy a link

Speaker 1332.98s - 338.8s

for that file. Manage access menu. You can manage access. So here's where you go to assign permissions.

Speaker 0338.8s - 346.5s

You know, do you want people to be able to just view the file, to edit the file, to download the file, things like that.

Speaker 1346.5s - 349s

Delete menu. Add this item to favorites menu.

Speaker 0349s - 351.5s

You can add it to your favorites. You can delete it.

Speaker 1351.5s - 355s

Add shortcut menu, sub menu. Add to playlist menu. Download menu.

Speaker 0355s - 359.5s

So depending on the type of file it is, if the video file and audio file, a word file,

Speaker 1359.5s - 366.2s

you're going to see some different results here. But again, those context menus give you other options.

Speaker 0367.6s - 371.4s

All right, I'm going to press escape and we're going to go to Teams and Channels, which is another

Speaker 1371.4s - 373.54s

place you can access files.

Speaker 0374.04s - 375.26s

Leaving menus, my file.

Speaker 1377.76s - 378.68s

Teams Tree View.

Speaker 0378.88s - 399.12s

All right, I press Control 3. Now, this is where you're going to go if you want to access files for a specific team or channel, for example. And you can use first letter navigation here. So I'm going to locate a team here or channel. I'm just going to press U.

Speaker 1399.12s - 401.86s

Level 1. User Education and Outreach More Options.

Speaker 0402.24s - 408.64s

So this is a team that we have for our user education and outreach team. And if I down arrow.

Speaker 1408.64s - 410.44s

Level 2. General More Options.

Speaker 0410.44s - 416.24s

Here we have a general channel. I'm going to press space to expand that.

Speaker 1416.24s - 417s

Deborah Sally PERSON.

Speaker 0417s - 419.44s

And then I'm going to press Alt 2.

Speaker 1419.44s - 422.36s

Files tab 2 of 4 has context menu 0.

Speaker 0422.36s - 449.2s

So here we go to the files tab. Now again when you press Alt 1, you're in posts. That's what's chosen by default. Alt 2 is files. These are tabs within the teams and channels hang. If there are no files there, you'll hear Jaws say zero items, but there are here. So I'm going to tab. Back button collapsed. Has context menu?

Speaker 1450.8s - 460.1s

Files frame, general grid, email. All right. Togel selection for a list with two items, documents link. Menu, command bar menu, new menus.

Speaker 0460.1s - 477.52s

All right, so I had to tab a few times. Sorry about that. All right, so if you just tab, you will hear there's a toolbar here. We have a new menu. This is, again, where you can go to create a new folder or file like we talked about before. If you write arrow in this toolbar, you have an upload menu, submenu.

Speaker 1477.56s - 479.38s

You have an upload menu.

Speaker 0479.5s - 491.92s

So here you could upload files to this channel. And you have a few other options here if you just write and left arrow. But if we tab, leaving menus, list with two items, general grid, top. You will here,

Speaker 1492.08s - 497.32s

now we get to general grid, which general is the channel that we're in. And here we have a grid

Speaker 0497.32s - 504.52s

with files. So I can down arrow. One selected. Email messages, folder, folder, one Q22 PRODUCT. And again,

Speaker 1504.86s - 506.08s

these are files and folders.

Speaker 0506.2s - 537.62s

We could press enter to open them. We could shift F10 or Applications PRODUCT key, and we would have a context menu where we could download them, delete them, share them, and things like that. So it's the same as how you're accessing it through the files pane, but here you're just accessing files that are specific to a channel that you're in. All right, so that is an overview of files. Now let's talk about search. I'm just going to go here.

Speaker 1539.56s - 542.04s

All right, I'm just here on my calendar here.

Speaker 0542.44s - 554.34s

It has nothing to do with search. I just wanted to place the focus somewhere else. So search is very powerful, and there are a number of ways to filter down that search. So let's press Control E.

Speaker 1555.1s - 558.38s

Look for people, messages, files, and more, edit, combo, expanded, required.

Speaker 0558.8s - 566.28s

So people, messages, files, and more. One of the most common ways to use search is to search for a command. For example,

Speaker 1566.28s - 573.12s

you can type slash, forward slash. Slash, search suggestions list box slash. Set your status to

Speaker 0573.12s - 591.52s

available, one of ten. So here it brings up the available commands. You can set your status to available. You can chat. You can call someone. So you can type slash and you can just down arrow through the options here. Or you can type a command. So I can type call and you can just down arrow through the options here or you can type a command so I can type call for example slash call

Speaker 1591.52s - 597.28s

slash call call call someone one of two so here I could press enter on call someone

Speaker 0597.28s - 612.32s

I would be prompted to type a name so I could type Rachel PERSON for example and then if I press enter on her name, it would automatically call her. So that's how you can use search to search for a command. You can do the same thing with chat.

Speaker 1613.92s - 621.94s

Or, so now let's talk about how to look for people, messages, files, and even teams and channels.

Speaker 0623.4s - 625s

I'm going to backspace out of this. L-C-slash-Cal, expanded, require.

Speaker 1625s - 627s

I'm going to backspace out of this.

Speaker 0627s - 628s

L-A-C-slash-10.

Speaker 1628s - 630s

All right, so now I can just type,

Speaker 0630s - 633s

I'll just type Rachel PERSON's name, for example, here.

Speaker 1633s - 642s

Rachel PERSON, 16 suggestions available for Rachel, five in suggestions, four in recent messages, two in group chats, three in files, one in help, one in suggestions.

Speaker 0642s - 658.3s

So here it tells me that there are different places and teams where I will find things that are related to Rachel PERSON. So I can down arrow. Clear query button.

Speaker 1658.34s - 659.48s

Let me clear that and try again.

Speaker 0659.56s - 660.08s

Look for people.

Speaker 1660.18s - 671.24s

Not letting me down arrow there. Here we go. Resh. Rachel, 16 suggest. Search suggestions list box. Group search filters. Use the left and right arrow keys to move across the filter list.Rachel Buchanan not checked, one of five.

Speaker 0671.24s - 687.54s

So here we are in the filters area. So I just typed Rachel PERSON's name and press down arrow. And here I could search for anything that pertains to Rachel PERSON. I could press enter to check that. Instead of pressing space here, you press enter. Or I can write arrow.

Speaker 1687.94s - 689.42s

Messages not checked, 2 of 5.

Speaker 0689.64s - 692.22s

I could look just for messages from Rachel PERSON.

Speaker 1693s - 694.54s

Files not checked, 3 of 5.

Speaker 0694.62s - 696.7s

Just for files that Rachel PERSON's posted.

Speaker 1697.32s - 698.98s

Group chats not checked, 4 of 5.

Speaker 0699.62s - 704.36s

Specifically for group chats where Rachel PERSON is a part of those group chats, Rachel and I both.

Speaker 1704.6s - 706.5s

Teams and channels not checked. 5 of 5.

Speaker 0706.5s - 714.5s

And then teams and channels. So I could really filter this down. Now if I don't choose any of those things, and I down error.

Speaker 1714.5s - 717.5s

Person Rachel Buchanan PERSON, left per and button and right brand director.

Speaker 0717.5s - 721.5s

So there it tells me Rachel PERSON's name and some contact info for her.

Speaker 1721.5s - 726.36s

Suggestion search Rachel Buchanan PERSON in all results. Two of five. Group chat, two actions available.

Speaker 0726.36s - 729.56s

So it's going to tell me here that there are some group chats.

Speaker 1729.56s - 734s

Group chat. Group Chat, Recent messages group. Message Rachel, Elizabeth Whitaker PERSON.

Speaker 0734s - 743.04s

And now it's going to start listing the chats, for example. For example, there's a chat between Rachel PERSON and I. So that's how you can search for people.

Speaker 1743.04s - 747.08s

Now, look for people, messages, files, and more edit combo collapsed required.

Speaker 0748.44s - 749.44s

Clear query button.

Speaker 1749.82s - 751.56s

I just tab to clear that query.

Speaker 0752.04s - 762s

Now here's one I want to show you about files. So again, I will type maybe the name of a file. I'll type user education here.

Speaker 1762.96s - 766s

So I just typed user ed. So I just typed User Ed.

Speaker 0766s - 768s

So here I can down arrow.

Speaker 1768s - 771s

Search suggestions list box. Group search filters.

Speaker 0771s - 775s

And again we have this search filter list that comes up.

Speaker 1775s - 776s

Messages, not checked.

Speaker 0776s - 779s

So we have messages. We can write arrow across here.

Speaker 1779s - 784s

Files not checked. Two of four. Group chats not checked. Three of four. Teams and channels not checked.

Speaker 0784s - 786.36s

Four of four. All right, so let's go back to files. Grouped. Files not checked. Two of 4. Teams and channels not checked. 4 of 4. Alright, so let's go back to files.

Speaker 1786.36s - 788.16s

Grouped files not checked.

Speaker 0788.16s - 791.2s

And if I press Enter, that's going to check files.

Speaker 1791.2s - 795.4s

Checked. Two suggestions available for user ed. One in suggestions. One in suggestions.

Speaker 0795.4s - 798.4s

So it tells me there are two available. So I'll down arrow.

Speaker 1798.4s - 801.8s

Word file result user E.D versus MAG. View all files. One of one.

Speaker 0801.8s - 803.9s

So I have view all files or I have.

Speaker 1803.9s - 806.22s

Word PRODUCT file result user E.D versus MAG CIS study. All right. So I have view all files or I have Word file result user ED versus magCi study.

Speaker 0806.72s - 817s

All right, so that's a file there that we could look up that has to do with user education and outreach. All right, so let's escape and let's say you want to search for a team or channel.

Speaker 1817.32s - 820.28s

Search for files, edit. Clear query button. Look for people.

Speaker 0820.64s - 823.38s

All right, so again, I'm just going to type user ed.

Speaker 1823.68s - 826.96s

You, user, user, e. All right, I'm just going to type user ed. You. User, user. All right. I'll

Speaker 0826.96s - 834.44s

down arrow to this filters list box. Group search filters. I'll write arrow to teams and channels.

Speaker 1834.44s - 839.04s

Files not checked. Group chats not. Teams and channels not checked. I'll press enter to check it.

Speaker 0839.04s - 844.42s

Checked. Four suggestions available for user ed. 3. All right. And I'll down arrow.

Speaker 1844.42s - 846.62s

Team split braille colon promotion and user education.

Speaker 0846.9s - 848.24s

Team user education and outreach.

Speaker 1848.48s - 851.7s

One action available. Channel split brail user ad content. Split bra.

Speaker 0851.74s - 860.82s

So as you can tell, it's going to give you the teams and the separate channels. And for example, team user education and outreach.

Speaker 1860.94s - 862.14s

If I wanted to go there.

Speaker 0862.9s - 863.54s

Teams tree view.

Speaker 1863.74s - 865.84s

I can just press, enter, and here I am.

Speaker 0865.84s - 873.94s

So that is how you can use search to look for people, files, teams, and channels, commands, and more.
