Speaker 9169.1s - 239.04s

day of action, there's action on the links. We've got soccer. We've got NBA ORG, NHL playoffs, Major League Baseball ORG. I open up my Twitter, right, because I got to do the tease over at Fox Sports. Radio at Swollen Dome ORG is where you find me. And one of the things that's trending is family matters. And for a minute, I'm like, what happened to Reginald Vell Johnson PERSON? Like, oh, no, no, no, it's more of the Drake PERSON stuff. And so I had to catch myself up on that, Ryan PERSON, a little bit. You know, he took a day off and you miss a lot when it comes to pop culture and the chaos that ensues. But one thing I did not miss was game one of these next Western Conference ORG playoffs and the Anthony Edwards show, which if you've been paying attention to the NBA all year, you've watched him grow. You've watched the rise of the T-Wolves ORG.But if you're new to and just getting acclimated to things because it's playoff time, welcome aboard because you've got to see something special. And I like that we got already into the morphing of his face into anything having to do with Michael Jordan PERSON. It happens fast, Ryan PERSON. We got to enoint the next.

Speaker 5239.84s - 265.36s

I mean, listen, it doesn't hurt that his game matches the look. And you know what? It's funny. It's clearly a familiar face, but he does have the resemblance. I think we would love if that story was, you know, Michael made a mistake somewhere. I'm sure his mother and father are somewhere cringing every time they hear that. You're sure.

Speaker 19266.16s - 274.22s

But, I mean, it's gold because the league is starved for the next face of the NBA ORG.

Speaker 5275.14s - 343.64s

And I think selfishly, we get it finally. LeBron James PERSON is going to have to slow down. LeBron James PERSON can no longer keep... I mean, he's unbelievable. And I think just as much as people cringe when they see LeBron PERSON succeed, as many haters are out there, they know, okay, we're going to have to pass the torch to somebody. And Anthony Edwards, right now, is looking like the guy.And what I'm hearing from all of the former players, the OGs, the ones who throughout the respect is they want someone with that killer instinct. They want someone with the trash talk, the trash talk that gets backed up. They want somebody that's edgy. They want somebody that can jump. And would all do respect? They want somebody like Jordan PERSON. And Anthony Edwards not just looks like him. He has a similar game. He's a two guard that shoots the mid-range and can fly. And you know what's crazy? Mike, I don't know if you feel like this, Mike. There's levels where he jumps higher than Mike. Oh, sure.

Speaker 19343.64s - 355.26s

There's levels right where he's even, and Mike was a specimen, like rookie Michael Jordan PERSON. I think rookie young, third year Michael Jordan PERSON was built like this. This dude's a tank.

Speaker 9356.34s - 415.08s

Well, you look at it, I think, Ryan PERSON, one of the things, and we've talked about it coming into these playoffs, is just the changing of the guard is always uneasy. talked about it coming into these playoffs is just the changing of the guard is is always uneasy and for the NBA to suddenly have you know whatever you think of Kevin Durant PERSON whether it was he just latched on to the Warriors and what he was still the MVP of those finals both years and has had one hell of a career but he's out of the playoffs as well as anybody that's attached themselvesto him you've got LeBron James we've got plenty on the Lakers ORG as we go forward. And LeBron PERSON at times will do things and say things that certainly bring the derision, but it ties back to the Michael thing, right? And Tom Brady to take the NFL ORG and whatever. People get tired of stuff. They want to see something new. You appreciate it to a degree. I was like, this guy again. And so that's when we get into some of those discussions about, you know, the love-hate relationship. Keep going. The Warriors ORG are out of the playoffs.

Speaker 0415.08s - 434.56s

So you're trying to figure out who's going to be that next guy or next team that's going to captivate the imagination and have some staying power. Because, yes, we do get tired of it. The Warriors ORG were another great example of it. Wow, they're changing the game. It's like, ah, damn it, now everybody's shooting three-pointers. They change the game, jerks. And now we're mad at them all these years later.

Speaker 19434.94s - 449.18s

So that happens quickly, right? The expiration date is like leaving your milk out. The same thing. It's going to accelerate things a little bit along the way. And for Anthony Edwards and for Minnesota ORG, right? When was the lasttime we talked about Minnesota ORG?

Speaker 9449.78s - 453.96s

When we were having commercials that featured Kevin Garnett and Stefan Marbury PERSON?

Speaker 5455s - 457.5s

There's so many similarities

Speaker 9457.5s - 467.4s

from Anthony Edwards game and even the way it's funny as you bring up Minnesota and the way they're built, that's like old school traditional basketball, right?

Speaker 5467.52s - 475.42s

Like, he doesn't, that's a great player, but he's like a clear, like the second best.

Speaker 0475.58s - 476.42s

You get what I'm saying?

Speaker 19476.52s - 476.74s

Sure.

Speaker 0477.22s - 498.66s

You got a lot of size there. You got defenders on the team, and then it's kind of like Anthony Edwards, just go score. Go score. Like, they're built for him to score 40 okay it's not Golden State Warriors ORG moved to basketball you you got 20 you got 20 you got the like this is it to theEdwards go score like people want Mike am I wrong like as much as people scream

Speaker 5498.66s - 511.82s

for we want something different we wanted like they want the same like Anthony Edwards is this the mold of, Anthony Edwards is the mold of Michael. It's the mold. There's enough similarities. They're asking for

Speaker 9511.82s - 519.08s

the same thing. Well, I think a lot of it comes back to, we want to talk about team after somebody loses.

Speaker 4520.04s - 521.74s

Right? Right? After somebody

Speaker 9521.74s - 596.98s

lose. Well, this wasn't constructed right? This wasn't great, right? We heard a lot about that with the clippers and Kauai PERSON not being available again. Lakers, all right, Vanderbilt and Vincent PERSON were hurt, so you didn't have the defensive specialist, whatever else. The roster was ill-constructed. And, of course, you know, with the Lakers, you get the extra LeBron PERSON residual stuff that flows out of there. But we talk about roster construction after the fact. In the moment, you want individual greatness. Because that's what this game has been predicated on for as long as I've been alive. And certainly for you, you're younger than I am. I mean, what have you watched? The end of everybody telling you about the magic and bird and Dr. J. PERSON era, maybe a little bit of Kareem at his end. But then it goes straight into Michael, and then the league has done whatever it can to promote the individual superstar left and right. I mean, the Spurs ORG were great.Nobody talks about how good Tim Duncan PERSON was. He gets more talk for showing up in Cabanaware GPE and with dreads on the sideline that he does for anything he ever did on a court. Dirk Davitsky PERSON.He showed up in the studio. He got more love showing up in that studio show for one night than I think he's gotten for what was one of the greatest careers we've seen in the last quarter century.

Speaker 2597.28s - 597.64s

Man.

Speaker 9597.92s - 598.42s

You know what I mean?

Speaker 2598.54s - 640.08s

Like it's that kind of thing. Like we don't talk about those teams. Like they're one-offs. I mean, I was talking with Ian PERSON, our producer this morning and Mark PERSON, before he left ourtechnical producer, Chris Perfet PERSON, in the chair with us this morning. Just talking about when we look at teams that we talk about on a whole, it goes out the window, right? I heard Andy PERSON and Buckytalking about Caitlin Clark and WNBA ORG and you're moving the needles and we'll get into a cool social media story that came out of one of those games, a debut of a pair of superstars. But go back to the college game. What we were talking about, we were talking about the individuals, right?

Speaker 9640.24s - 679.66s

Here's Caitlin Clark, there's Juju Watkins, there's Angel Reese PERSON, and then South Carolina GPE won. They're a great team. Dawn Staley's a great coach, but you're not talking about them the same way. They are the women's college basketball version of the Spurs ORG. You appreciate it, celebrate it, but I don't think the individuals get necessarily the love that they would deserve. And you can do that with Duncan, go back to Dirk PERSON and so many players through history.Because individually, it kind of gets pushed away. You know, we celebrate them for their Hall of Fame ORG careers, but they don't go into the same conversations. No, you're right.

Speaker 5681.78s - 702.86s

You know, it's funny to me. And as you talk about it, we just mentioned it with Michael and why everybody's so big on Anthony Edwards. The team is constructed for Anthony Edwards to just shoot an abundance of shots.I'm not going to call Michael or Kobe Bogg PERSON. I'm not going to say that. It wouldn't be fair because their job is to score.

Speaker 9703.04s - 707.16s

Yeah, there's that fine line. I know exactly where you're doing the tightrope right now.

Speaker 5707.36s - 727.04s

Their job is to unapologetically score. Okay? And all that people are going to care, because there are moments with Anthony Edwards, with all due respect, and they're built like this, where he can be inefficient, right? Because he's easy, he's going, and he's scoring,

Speaker 0727.18s - 738.34s

and he's so much more. And our job here is to make you smarter. So when you watch Minnesota ORG, for the most part, Anthony Edwards is going to chill in the first half. He's going to take whatever shots come to him.

Speaker 5738.98s - 843.54s

In third quarters, he lights up. Oh, it's time. It is. Anthony Edward, he lights up. And you'll see him all a sudden he starts bringing the ball up court. He starts shimmying. He starts getting excited. And it is, it is Anthony Edwards time. Okay. So that's different. It took Kobe a while in hiscareer before he kind of got to that point. Alan Iverson would do that a bit. You know, it's your great scores. It's a game plan and they do that now. My point is the points are applauded. The team play is not applauded. LeBron James PERSON, why a lot of you would never see him as a goat for maybe many reasons otherthan this, is the one thing that he's never going to get respect for is the way that he passes the basketball the average fan will not look at lebron and say and i'm not i'm not trying to have the goat debate don't get me wrong here i'm just talking anthony edwards PERSON i'm talking the next face of the league i'm talking that little butter the little butterflies you're filling your stomach when you see Anthony Edwards. LeBron James PERSON was a passer. He's not going to excite you the same way that Anthony Edwards is because Michael Jordan PERSON was such a dominant figure that we got so spoiled to see Kobe Bryantstepping right at. We never had to miss Michael because we had Kobe. And then not just did Kobe do his think Kobe had Phil PERSON. So we felt like this was just, just the torch was just taken on. And Phil Jackson PERSON is human. He ages. He can't just coach forever, right? But we're getting it at Anthony Edwards and everybody's ecstatic.

Speaker 9848.26s - 952.02s

No, we're always trying, again, we're trying to find next and it looks like you've got that guy. The way this roster is constructed, some of those explosive moments, the dunks. We'll get deeper into the game here coming up in a couple of minutes and what we can glean from game one in the Timberwolves 10699 victory. But in terms of this discussion, you're right. It's that guy that wants the ball, going to shoot the ball. You know, LeBron PERSON's got tons of scoring accolades, the longevity, and that's where you get into some of the debates of, you know, he's been healthy and played 21 years. So, you know, the compiler versus dominant scoring records versus scoring individual season titles, all of those kind of things. When you get into Jordan, you start getting into defensive player of the years. You know, the one thing I've always loved, though, because every time I see LeBron play, I get to think back to the old Clyde Drexler PERSON days. The I'm going to put my head down, bounce the ball about three feet in front of me,and I'm coming into the lane, and you're going to get hit. You're going to get run over, and that's the patented LeBron PERSON move, no matter what he does. And it begets a bigger argumentand discussion that I've had forever. You know, why can I back you down as violently as possible? I think Shaq PERSON in his prime. Ryan Hollins and you certainly as a big man faced your shareof them and used the same move. But if I'm facing you, suddenly it's an offensive foul. I mean, unless I'm LeBron PERSON running you over in the lane. Riddle me that, Batman PERSON. How's it different? Because I'm making eyecontact and it's malicious versus just backing you down. I don't know. Fun and exciting, you know, breakdown of NBA ORG rules.

Speaker 5952.5s - 984.1s

You're right. The game is, we've had this complaint for a long time. It is tailor made for guards to be able to succeed. What our eyes have grown accustomed to is the goat. What our eyes have grown accustomed to is the goat. It's Taylor May PERSON to what the traditional shooting guard who gets his numbers is to succeed. Even, and another name that comes in behind him, like, let me know if I'm wrong with this. I don't care if Nicola Yolkich puts up 40 point triple doubles, 50 point triple doubles. He ain't sexy the way he plays.

Speaker 3986.7s - 995.52s

Ain't nobody's craving for Yokin PERSON's the next phase. That will not be appreciated. Now the basketball fit, we're going, oh my goodness, he's amazing. He makes the right play. Look at that 30 foot bounce pass and everything. Yeah.

Speaker 9996.44s - 1004.08s

No. No, it's not going to be applauded. No. No, you're 100% right. He's a guy that will be the,

Speaker 51004.38s - 1005.42s

hey, that was a great run.

Speaker 91005.88s - 1006.64s

All right, what's next?

Speaker 51007.72s - 1024.32s

Anthony Edwards shooting. That's it. Anthony Edwards shooting, you know, they're 30 for, you know, for 50 and trash talking and getting a 40 ball or whatever, you know, whatever 60 ball. You're going to be applauded, man. No, don't give me wrong. They've got to win.

Speaker 91024.52s - 1030.68s

No, well, that's the next step. So let's talk about that. Coming up next, 17 of 29 yesterday for his

Get out there and let folks know we're out there, what you agree with, what you disagree with, and how smart Ryan makes me sound throughout the rest of this morning. As we roll through a lot of NBA ORG, we've got some fun coming off the derby. There was one interview in the paddock area that I had to clip off, because I got to get your reaction to something the gentleman claimed in terms of a past experience he had in the paramutual wagering world. As we come off the Kentucky Derby EVENT, shouts to my family, my brothers and friends all heading back from Churchill Downs FAC after another resplendent appearance there among the beautiful people. And they look beautiful, Ryan PERSON. I got to say, mom sent me some photos of my brothers and they look good. I hope to one day

Speaker 51278.08s - 1282.74s

walk among the beautiful people as well. Oh, you are, man. Come on, dude. Don't do that.

Speaker 91282.78s - 1353.1s

Well, I've been lost. Well, you know what I mean? I was dealing with, you know, man. Come on, dude. Don't do that. Well, I've been lost. Well, you know what I mean. Just I was dealing with, you know, lots of other stuff, soccer practices and stuff, instead of putting on my best jaunty hat and being there, even though I did manage to lose quite successfully in my own parimutual wagering yesterday on the derby. But we'll get into that in earnest a little more as we talk about the photo finish and all the fun stuff there. We're talking to Anthony Edwards next, right? That's the not WWE NXT, no, talking about the hype machine starting to crank up after his 43 point performance and a seven point T-wolves win at Denver ORG to start the semifinals. And Ryan, one of the things we're talking about, the roster construction, talking about Carl Anthony Towns, looking at a little bit of Gobert, Nazre PERSON, right? Obviously, the sixth man of the year was huge in that fourth quarter coming up. He finishes with 16, but it is truly built and they rise and fall off the centerpiece of Edwards PERSON. Great team basketball, great team defense, no doubt, but they're only going as far as

Speaker 51353.1s - 1459.96s

the heroics of Edwards PERSON can take them. No, you're right about that. And they need Anthony Edwards to score. And the one thing, why they're allowed to win and, you know, normally we hadn't said this in a while, like this guy has to score. There's one guy. Normally, you know, all the teams we've kind of seen, it needed two and three guys, right? Two and three guys.Well, they need, you know, both those guys have to have good nights. This has to happen, right? The reason that this is working is that's the way that this team has been built. They have been built for Anthony Edwards to score. And the reason they can do that is because the Timberwolves have the NBA ORG's best defense. If you are not familiar with Minnesota ORG in an era of basketball where everybody's gotten smaller, there's no center on a number of teams. There's no power forward. There's a bunch of small forwards playing position. They are huge. And in the offseason, they went out and said, you know what, this Nas Reid PERSON guy, he's getting in the way of Carl Anthony Towns PERSON.What should we do about Nas Reid PERSON? How are we going to make this work? You know what they said? We're going to sign Nas Reid PERSON, and we're going to keep it, Carl Anthony Towns PERSON, and we're going to give everything we have to go and get Rudy Gobert PERSON.They said we're going to just get bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. And it is paid off, dude. It has paid off. And when you play them, when we saw them this season with the Rockets ORG, we were able to kind of check out what they were doing. There were moments in that gamewhere you just felt outmatched. Where you felt like it was the JV versus the varsity. You know when you see the, for those A.U. ORG parents, you seethe 15 you kids

Speaker 291459.96s - 1490.6s

and then you see the 17 you kids and you go, oh gosh, they're much bigger. Wow. That is how you feel when you see Minnesota ORG. They're huge. And shout out to Denver ORG. Denver kind of did it first.Michael Porter Jr. is all a 6'10 playing the three guards, the three guard spot, okay? They admit that team is also huge. So these are two big teams, but they're equipped size-wise, physicality-wise, to match up. And Anthony Edwards, we'll give him probably about 6, 5, 6, 6, 6, but he plays like he's 7 feet. It's funny.

Speaker 91490.8s - 1501.08s

You mentioned the difference, AAU. Obviously, my daughter is still in the soccer circuit. Sometimes you go to these national events. You're like, what the hell are they feed these kids? Right?

Speaker 31501.14s - 1511.32s

Because they're the same age, same. I was like, wait, what? Like, what's going on here certainly there how do you feel about the the phase out of centers psychologically for you

Speaker 91511.32s - 1518.22s

as you know an opinionated seven-footer here's what I challenge right now the two

Speaker 51518.22s - 1533.02s

the two front runners for MVP Joel and B Nicole Yolkich we're going to be the two best players in the NBA ORG you're going to argue'd argue it'll be the two best players in the NBA. You're going to argue probably the last, what, three seasons, two best players that, no, we'll say the three best players, fancy me. We'll go Yonis out to the Coupo ORG. You want to call him a center.

Speaker 31533.16s - 1533.74s

We'll call the center.

Speaker 191534.18s - 1535.96s

You know, for giggles, right?

Speaker 01536.1s - 1536.3s

Yep.

Speaker 51537.76s - 1551.8s

Didn't you say the defensive player of the year raining, the guy's probably going to go down in history because he's gotten the award so many times, Rudy Gobert PERSON. So are these centers really being phased out? It's a good question.

Speaker 91552.18s - 1577.02s

I mean, look, I think it's just on the overriding. And I think we've changed how we defined center. Because these guys don't play, like the seven footers that we remember, no disrespect to yourself and others, right? It was a, you played back to the basket, you played around the block, and now you got guys like Yokachin M.B. It's like, I think I'll pull up from three feet beyond the arc and have some

Speaker 51577.02s - 1600.3s

fun with it. You're absolutely correct. The way the position is being played is completely different. They do not play it the way that we traditionally saw it being played. I'm glad that you said that that's the biggest thing. And I said this a couple of years ago. I don't think the big players are getting phased out of the NBA ORG. I think what's going to happen is the big players are going to become more and more skilled.

Speaker 91600.38s - 1634.9s

Well, look at Victor PERSON, right? We talk about Wenbanyama ORG. We went deep into this conversation. And, I mean, there's a guy, 7? We talk about Wenbinoa ORG. We went deep into this conversation and, I mean, there's a guy 7-4 who runs the floor aboutas well as anybody right now. Right? I mean, I don't think it's hyperbole and me just wanting to be, you know, the, hey, let's jump on the next greatness bandwagon to say after watching him in hisrookie year, and yes, they did not have a lot of team success. You rebuild around him, but you'd be hard pressed not to already start looking at it as a top 10 guy as an individual.

Speaker 51635.98s - 1638.44s

Oh, he does on both ends of the court.

Speaker 91638.76s - 1640.32s

You're going to have Anthony Edwards on one end

Speaker 51640.32s - 1797.74s

and Wimbuniam PERSON on the other end. And Mike, my opinion, he has over exceeded expectations. And hats off to San Antonio GPE, because I felt like San Antonio was very calculated in this. They wanted to make sure that the height was gone around Wimby PERSON. And as the draft built up, wimby was came in everybody wants to say he's lebron he's this he's that he's all he's all these things right and how's he going to fare what isand san antonia GPE was like no he's just he's just a guy and we're going to be conservative this year we're going to be this this and this and he he to be this, this, and this. And he quietly, this is one of the most, this is one of the most amazing quiet seasons that I had ever seen played. He quietly, I mean, just went berserk. He, I mean, quietly, Wimby PERSON absolutely was phenomenal. I mean, this was something that we had not seen and, I mean, ever seen. This was, this is unbelievable. I mean, every game. And I spoke with the great Sean Elliott PERSON. When we went down there, got to play, got to see, got to see the Spurs ORG. I said, Sean PERSON, you know, is he that good? What's, you know, what's the deal with him?He said, Ryan PERSON, every time I see him play, every time he touches the floor, you will see something that you have never seen done in the game of basketball. You will see something that has never been done in the game of basketball, ever been seen. All the rules, everything that you thought was possible is no longer possible when you see this guy play. So really, Sean PERSON?Those are big words. And, you know, old school, older players, they don't just jump on the hype. They don't believe. They don't believe. And every time I've seen Victor PERSON play,he has done something that I have never seen possible in the game of basketball. There are possessions, as we talked about earlier, our AU or the dad stuff comes out and Mike you feel it. We say there's difference between the JV and the varsity. We're seeing things that you only see in kids basketball. You're seeing NBA ORG grown men dribble to the basketball and not want to shoot the ball. With Wimbabiyama ORG in the vicinity, you're seeing a three-on-one fast break in today's NBA ORG where guys are dribbling the ball out and saying, no, no, no, no, no, don't shoot the ball anywhere near him.Because if you shoot the ball anywhere near him, he's going to block it. He's going to put your shot in the stands, dude.

Speaker 91798.94s - 1867.32s

Yeah, that range is ridiculous, right? You relax for a second, and he's up on you. Well, he had the glory that unless you had the NBA ORG package, they weren't good enough to crack the rotation, no matter how good he was.Especially when you have the rise of Minnesota ORG and the force feeding on the west coast of the Portland Trailblazers. But that's my own lamentation for what I was forced to watch with great regularity herein the studios alongside Jason Smith, not to mention his insufferable Knicks ORG self. We'll get into them a little bit later on. But what do we take away from game one? For me, it was the, I mean, obviously Edwards PERSON, but you mentioned the defense of this squad before Ryan. Look, Yolkich PERSON got his numbers, but tell me that first half, they didn't make those guys look really uncomfortable. Some good adjustments and obviouslyit's a game late. They rally back from that huge early deficit right because the T-Wolves put it to him in the first. Murray PERSON goes scoreless for a half and go on down the line but it really wasit looked like that offense had to be sped up because of the length because of the tenacity on the defensive end.

Speaker 51868.44s - 1969.5s

Yeah, we talked about it earlier. Minnesota has the bodies to throw at Yolkich PERSON, and we haven't seen teams be able to match up. I mean, in the finals last year, I mean, it was embarrassing. I mean, he was backing the Miami Heat under the rim and just just scooting two shooting two foot layups. I mean, he made the game look so easy. It was, it was honestly, it was, it was embarrassing. And with him being able to do that, I mean, it puts you in a situation. You're like, man, something has to be changed. And I wantto say, this is the most Nicola PERSON has looked in the playoffs. But they've got the bodies to throw out of them. And normally, you know, when you see Rudy on the other side, it's just Rudy versus Nicola PERSON one-on-one. But they are throwing cat at them. They're throwing Nas Reed PERSON. They're physical. And then you got guys like McDaniels on the back side Anthony Edwards that can get physical with the wings of of the of the timber wolves but it's it's the size that stands out to me and obviously you're not going to shut out Nicola PERSON but you know being able to match up pound for pound because again a lot of times the Nuggets ORG don't get credit, they're just bigger than opposing teams. Aaron Gordon just is physically, man. He's as big as old school power forward and he jumps out the gym.He is a physical player. And to me, that's one of the big things that I'm seeing, man, being able to just, you guys are good, great guys are going to get their numbers, but people have not been able to match up with Nicola PERSON. They have not. We've got a fun one, and certainly our boss,

Speaker 91969.62s - 1993.74s

Scott Shapiro, between the Twins 12-game winning streak and this, he's wondering, well, what was the shoe to drop? He's Ryan Hollins. I'm Mike Harmon here, Fox Sports Sunday ORG, Fox Sports Radio. Time to turn our attention to a man who's all-knowing, man with stats, figures, and quips for days. It's our guy, Isaac Lowencrown at Isaac Lohencrown PERSON on Twitter. What's going on, Ilo PERSON?

Speaker 141993.86s - 2048.16s

Good morning, Mike. Good morning, Ryan PERSON. And indeed, we do start with game one of the NBA's Western Conference semifinals on Saturday night as the Minnesota Timberwolves. Stole game one on the road at Denver ORG, 106 to 99 in the story. Anthony Edwards pouring in a playoff career high, 43 points. Edwards PERSON has been so good he is actually causing marital problems. After game one, some guy named Nate PERSON tweeted, and I quote, Hi, Nate PERSON. Anthony Edwards is making me feel things no one ever has, unquote. A woman named Tyra PERSON replied, and I quote, oh, parentheses, this is my husband, unquote. Good luck to Nate PERSON.We'll try and follow up on how he's doing after that perhaps reckless tweet what did tyra take the challenge i mean

Speaker 92048.16s - 2054.4s

what happened there i guess it depends on what we beat by taking what do you think ryan

Speaker 142055.44s - 2059.92s

i said oh really perhaps nate was playing the long game is what you're saying there you go exactly

Speaker 92059.92s - 2119.46s

a bit of a godlet laid down if you will you what? I'm going to follow both of them on social media and see where this story goes. In the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday night, the Boston Bruins won game one, game seven of their opening round series over the Toronto Maple Leafs at overtime 2 to 1, as Boston's David Posternock scored the series winner a minute and 54 seconds into OT. And Major League Baseball on Saturday night, Max Muncie hit three home runs as his Los Angeles Dodgers to beat at the Atlanta Braves 11 to 2.The San Diego Padres won in Arizona 13 to 1. Louisa Rise went four for six in his San Diego GPE debut. Finally, earlier Saturday, Mystic Dan won the 150th Kentucky Derby in a photo finish over Sierra Leone GPE. Here's what Mystic Dan PERSON had to say after his glorious trip. Pass the blunt. Oops.Sorry. How about that? Wrong Mystic Dan PERSON. Wrong glorious trip.

Speaker 142119.58s - 2120.26s

We got Isaac PERSON.

Speaker 92263.54s - 2377.12s

We got Ian PERSON. We got Chris PERSON making a sound so pretty. All the information and tunes Thanks for being part of the family. We got Isaac. We got Ian. We got Chris making a sound so pretty all the information and tunes that you're hearing over the course of the day. So, Ryan PERSON, in parallel withthe fun and excitement of the NBA ORG playoffs, we've got the first exhibition games thus far for the WNBA ORG. A lot of excitement people monitoring the price of tickets on the secondary marketand all that fun stuff when you get down to it. But not every game is being televised in necessarily the same free-flowing way that, you know, you've come to expect in league passes and all of that stuff. So the other night, you had the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Links ORG get after it, and there was no television, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Cardoso and Angel Reese making their first appearances, although after watching the press conference and setup they had for Angel Reese PERSON,I'm still kind of scratching my head. I don't need to pile on the city of Chicago. They got enough issues. Although they finally won an NFL ORG draft, at least in theory, with the Caleb Williams arrival. But someone on Twitter ORG decided, well, I'm just going to start live streaming this thing. They were sitting around center court. And they've got over 200,000 people to tune in and watch some of that game, Ryan PERSON. The age of the WNBA ORG, at least in these exhibition moments, we've arrived on a different scale. And now it becomes the how do we capitalize and push forward? But normally they shut you down when you got live streams like that, although I suppose that's usually UFC, W.W.E ORG and other events that they watch you on the you got live streams like that although i suppose uh that's usually ufc wwe ORG and other events that they watch you on the pay-per-view so so maybe an exemption here or maybe some theory testing as to how big this could get as another outlet for the for the games

Speaker 52377.12s - 2483.68s

i mean i think you got to be excited and listen if the man the man gets big enough they're going to have to fix some things with the WMBA. And I think you love it. And here's the thing for every sport, it takes personalities, it's entertainment. It takes a name that you know. It takes a household name. And for those who may not know it, Mike, you remember these times? Hey, it was the competition between Larry Bird PERSON and Magic Johnson that took the NBA ORG to another level. He went from there, and Michael Jordan PERSON, we don't just applaud him as a goat. We don't just applaud him as a guy who won championships. He grew the league exponentially. The league just took off under Michael Jordan PERSON. And Kobe Bryant PERSON, maintained the torch. LeBron James PERSON grew the league. He's going to have to get credit for that for what he's done and where the league has gone during his time and run in the NBA ORG.But ultimately, at the end of the day, we bring that out because of Caitlin Clark, because of Angel Reese PERSON. Are those two going to be the names that take the WMBA to the next level where they're going, hey, man, we're making this money, we're getting this notoriety of this TV packages here because of what they had been able to do. They are household names. The way that they transformed the game of college, y'all. This was the women's college basketball this year. Mike, you know this. They outrated, you know, the NBA, NFL ORG. I mean, they were absolutely box office during that time. And they did numbers. And the challenge is, are those same numbers going to roll over to the WNBA ORG? Our change is going to be made, you know, streaming wise. Are they going to get more TV games?

Speaker 92483.68s - 2502.44s

Where do they stand? Well, the beauty of it is, you know, and to back it out, it's like your imprint has been small, right? Go back to the NBA ORG. Think about when Magic and Bird PERSON came in. Your NBA ORG finals were on tape delay after the late local news and nightline. Right? It is, all right, now at midnight, here's game three.

Speaker 192503.32s - 2504.76s

I mean, that's where the NBA ORG was.

Speaker 92504.76s - 2533.58s

And now, what is it, a $10 billion a year business estimated, add some asterisks for some fuzzy accounting. But for the WNBA, the last math I saw was that it was a $200 million business. That's a huge gap, quite obviously, but there's room for growth and a thirst for it, that, you know, you've got a different generation and how you consume things, add the fact that, well, it's another thing we can bet on,so you're going to be able to get that market in.

Speaker 192534.26s - 2577.58s

Let's call it what it is when you can, even during the NCAA tournament EVENT for the women's, we started seeing a lot of discussions on point total over unders and some of those matchups, a lot of discussions on point total over unders and some of those matchups, et cetera. Here in Los Angeles, they're hoping that Cameron Brink PERSON can become a star, right? The Steph Curry PERSON ties there and everything else. But it's the idea that even if you have massive growth on a percentage basis, it may not be the exciting numbers that people are looking for in terms of ratings, share, and overall market. But by the same token, NBA ORG ratings on a night-to-night basis aren't exactly, you know, through the roof, right?

Speaker 92577.6s - 2647.78s

They're good. But it's a new world order in terms of what constitutes good ratings for live television. And look, sports is always going to be the last bastion because you're going to have to sit through some advertisements to get to quarter four to see what Edwards and Yokic PERSON are doing for you. Or in this case, Caitlin Clark is she still getting forward? And something I think happened with the Iowa GPE squad as well, Ryan, that helped ratings is you started to get people that were not just the old head WNBA ORG players.Oh, wait to see her on the next level. It was the, all right, they're waiting for her to fail. Hate watching is a real thing in our sports watching society. It's part of the LeBron James and why everything is so magnified there. A lot of excitement. What's he going to do next? But on the same token, how's he going to fail? Theprivate parts discussion of ratings for Howard Stern back in the day. There you go, aging myself truly. But it was, I can't wait to see what he's going to do next. People that hate him, listen twice as long. Why? I can't wait to see what he's going to do next. People that hate him, listen twice as long. Why? I can't wait to see what he's going to do next.

Speaker 182648.46s - 2649.2s

Same thing here.

Speaker 92649.3s - 2668.2s

You start getting that buildup. That's the best thing you can possibly ask for in the sport because you start getting opinion makers to dive in. They may not have a clue as to what they're saying, although a lot of the guys that get paid, the two commas, don't really seem to watch any sports anymore anyway. So, you know, I'll leave that there.

Speaker 52668.7s - 2710.14s

Well, it's controversial because you hadn't seen it before. And you talked early about Michael and Kobe. Kobe wasn't controversial because you saw Kobe and Michael. LeBron PERSON's controversial because we've seen anybody do it for that long. Hey, he doesn't conduct himself, as we would assume, his greatness is. Ron PERSON's controversial because we've seen anybody do it for that long. Hey, he doesn't conduct himself as we would assume, his greatness is.And for the way that Caitlin Carton PERSON plays, you hadn't seen that success. You hadn't seen a name like that in college. You hadn't seen it transfer over. Steph Curry PERSON. So many people did not believe in Steph Curry PERSON.You know, I was taught in my time in the NBA ORG that rebounds the defense win championships. All those years ago.

Speaker 92710.32s - 2717.52s

And then they changed the game. All right, you mentioned LeBron PERSON. We've got to talk about the Lakers ORG. Darwin PERSON, question mark. Next.

Speaker 162719.04s - 2722.94s

Speaker 52781.36s - 2782.24s

What's going on, brother?

Speaker 92782.32s - 2789.68s

That was a fast first hour, man. We covered a lot of grounds. I think we spoke some wisdom into the universe, and now we'll try to do it again.

Speaker 52790.58s - 2796.26s

It was so fast. I mean, I didn't even realize it. I'm like an hour already. Time flies when you're having fun.

Speaker 92796.62s - 2825s

No, that's it. And speaking wisdom on this NBA ORG game, we get more playoff action a little bit later on. A game seven. How about that? A game seven. The Orlando Magic and the ClevelandCavaliers ORG. I pick the Cavs ORG to go to the you know, because we decided around here, Ryan PERSON, that we generally don't go chalk with our picks. I go, I'll go a little off the grid and now theCavaliers ORG are on the brink of extinction. Hey man. For one, we're glad we're getting to game seven. Always. go a little off the grid and now the cavaliers are on the brink of extinction.

Speaker 52828.14s - 2882.86s

Hey man, for one, we're glad we're getting to game seven. Always. Yeah, home court advantage. That's a big thing. And I think my disappointment is that I thought for Cleveland ORG, I thought experience that went out. I thought this was their moment. It got Donovan Mitchell who'd been there before for for Orlando GPE. This is a lot of first They're both very constructed very similar. I've got history work with J.B. Bicker staff three times a coach Jamal Mosley defensive minded throwback boxes and elbows team. They like to take care of the paint first But I just I didn't think. I'm surprised with Paolo PERSON and those guys that they are having this much success this early. And I think for Cleveland ORG, if they end up losing this, I don't want to say they blow things up.But I want to say there's going to be, you know, be some changes. This was a series.

Speaker 92882.96s - 2917.96s

They should have been able to win. Now, let's go back. You got game four, Franz Wagner PERSON, with the elbow to Jared Allen PERSON, and he's not been in since. Two and a half is the spread on this one, Cleveland ORG, the home favorite, about 194 and a half CARDINAL, the total. But midway through the third quarter of that game before,I mean, you're talking about a guy who's, what, 16 and 10? That's suddenly out of the middle and out of the mix. So on the injury report for game seven, and it's dicey. I haven't seen any true update. He's still listed as questionable with the rib contusion.

Speaker 52919.88s - 2970.06s

Yeah, and that'll be a big factor. But you know, sometimes that injuries like that can help out. The reason why I can say that they end up helping out is because what happens is, you know, you go smaller, you change up, you know, how fast you play. Mobley PERSON slides over to the center position. Those two don't conflict with each other. And, you know, it could be a big thing. It could end up helping them out in the long run.So I'm interested to see how that works out. But, I mean, listen, game sevens, there's nothing like them. A lot of times, more than not, you give the credit to the home team. And I think in this situation, you're going to have to roll with the home team. Just because these two have not had a lot of playoff success. And you know what happens? Role players play better at home. And it's where you're going to have to lean.

Speaker 92970.6s - 3052.08s

We look at Suggs and Bancaro PERSON, who you mentioned before, a couple of other young stars. So the kids are all right, as it were. But let's go back to the veterans because, let's face it, as much as folks may bemoan the idea of, hey, let's talk Lakers ORG again. They're the story outside of the playoffs. Based on LeBron PERSON's comments, refusing to comment on his future, and we've played that a little bit, so we'll just move past it here for the sake of time. But, you know, the uncertain off season, he's got the player option. What is it, $51 one and a half million dollars there about. Now we're talking about three years max deal for him. You got Anthony Davis and a lot of questions of the roster construction. But one thing that is certain is the Lakers ORG are in line for another head coach. And I know you talked about it with Jason Smith in my stead on Friday night. But for those who weren't listening, I was off, you know, gallivanting and enjoying a little time with my daughters and the others. It's a topic. Welcome in for folks that only get us on a Sunday morning. Ryan, was it inevitable given the last couple of weeks and the public comments andhistoriotics of James and Anthony Davis PERSON directed towards their now former head coach? Here's the thing.

Speaker 53054.26s - 3058.44s

LeBron knows how to end the season with some controversy. Of course.

Speaker 33058.9s - 3109.2s

He's been seasoned enough, and he's smart enough to also know his value. You know, sometimes in sports, a lot of guys, they don't know their value. You know, sometimes in sports, a lot of guys they don't know their value. You know, you kind of, you just kind of go about. And LeBron PERSON knows how to create that, that kind of, oh, he knows that he knows that he's, how do I put it, he knows those people that hate them, they secretly love them, they want to see him.So as soon as he just throws out, yeah, I don't know if this year's going to work for me. You know, that excitement's going to be there. LeBron PERSON also knows, hey, you know what, I need some leverage. You want to know why? Because I plan on my son playing with me. I want an opportunity for my son to play with me. And if I go out and I create the, no, no, no, LeBron PERSON, we need you to stay. You mean so much. You look so great. There's nothing. There's no team without you, LeBron PERSON. Guess what?

Speaker 53110.2s - 3130.68s

You have the leverage to say, hey, I want to make sure that my son is drafted here. I want to make sure that I get a chance to play with them. And I think it's very realistic that you see that. And I think for LeBron PERSON, he does not allow organizations. He does not allow people anymore to get comfortable with them. And I think this is part of it.

Speaker 93131.5s - 3144.68s

Well, it wields the invisible hand. I used that phrase with my daughter. She got all excited starting to talk about Adam Smith and economics, which was kind of cool at 15 that she wants to have those. Like, see, you're paying attention to your history classes.

Speaker 183145.26s - 3151.82s

But it's the idea that you do have a huge amount of power.

Speaker 93152.36s - 3268.1s

And for Jeannie Bus and husband Jay Moore and the brass there, Ryan PERSON, I mean, it's a lot of the, all right, if he leaves, what do we got? And we know even if they backed off a little bit, and this is where we can get into Rob Polanka PERSON and the job of the front office, with him comes a lot of expectations, right? It's built for this year. It's not a long haul, right? It's always the, we have to win now and make moves accordingly, or at least that's that's the thoughtand for darvin ham during this run trying to maximize what was on your roster and i heard a lot of folks talking about vanderbilt and vincent not being available it's like well it's the nba i guess you know as you were just talking about with the cavaliers well you change up how you approach things and they had great health from both james and James and Anthony Davis PERSON that still only led them to the play in. Even with them playing together, as often as they did, Austin Reeves PERSON after the big contract, I don't think you saw this step up in game night to night that they expectedthere and we can go full- on roster if you need to. But for LeBron PERSON, he knows there's great power in that jersey and for him personally, you know, to wield all the leverage. Now, as for the kid, I don't know what he's going to be. I don't think anybody does at this point, but he's got LeBron James PERSON, you know, as his backer and as a guy who can say, well, I'll take mytraveling road show somewhere else. You know, why? Because I've done it before. Because that's the other thing. You know, we were talking about Michael and Kobe and, you know, the fun that we get to use all these guys first name like their pop stars. But the idea that the other guys didn't move. Like Kobe may have threatened a few times and he did, but he didn't go anywhere.

Speaker 193268.68s - 3271.66s

And Michael didn't go anywhere until the end when he left for Washington ORG.

Speaker 93272.68s - 3287.54s

And that was after the run with the Bulls ORG was done and there's ownership and all that other stuff that comes out. But with LeBron PERSON, he's taken the road show before. So you can use that as leverage. You're absolutely right. He has.

Speaker 53287.94s - 3300.22s

And before you're right, the leverage was, I'll go play somewhere else. But I think LeBron PERSON's real leverage that we talked about earlier is that I can retire. I don't need this. Well, he's thrown that

Speaker 93300.22s - 3305.42s

out a little bit, right? You know, what's next? What do I have left to accomplish? You know what's funny?

Speaker 53305.7s - 3309.82s

Which, anybody that believes that, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Speaker 93310.14s - 3314.7s

You know what's funny? I watched him kind of like the, you know, the rant that he had

Speaker 53314.7s - 3318.4s

or the meltdown, whatever you, the frustration said it, whatever you want to put it up, right?

Speaker 93318.64s - 3321.76s

When he did the challenge to play.

Speaker 53322.06s - 3323.84s

Oh, yeah, the three-year-old stomp?

Speaker 93324.04s - 3324.74s

Yeah, that was great.

Speaker 53324.74s - 3364.34s

Yeah, the challenge to play. I, yeah, the three-year-old stomp? Yeah, that was great. The challenge to play. I feel like that was a move. And he's had some things that stood out that when he was towards the end of his career, he was towards the end of his career, you just don't care anymore.I remember towards the end of my career. I didn't do anything in the NBA ORG, not while, but just overseas. My last year played in Spain and Italy, a little bit maybe in the NBA ORG. But there was that feeling that I don't care anymore. I don't need this. There's some of that I don't need this in some of my behaviors. Coach would say some things were unnecessary. I don't need this, no. I don't agree.

Speaker 93364.34s - 3367.66s

Did you ever eat on a bench like DeAngelo Russell PERSON?

Speaker 53368.2s - 3369.44s

No, I did I do that.

Speaker 33369.64s - 3377s

Okay. I didn't do that. Snack time. But there's just kind of some, I don't agree to that.

Speaker 53377.16s - 3377.72s

What do you mean?

Speaker 33377.72s - 3379.22s

I don't need that.

Speaker 53379.22s - 3380.2s

You just kind of wait off and move on.

Speaker 33380.28s - 3380.58s

Sure.

Speaker 53380.98s - 3383.82s

And for all of us who maybe been in a situation,

Speaker 33384.82s - 3386.22s

or you have another job looming,

Speaker 93386.6s - 3387.72s

you have another opportunity.

Speaker 53387.86s - 3424.5s

And once you know that opportunity is there. That's finalized, yeah. Right? Things change. The way you approach, things change, okay? And I challenge everyone in their lives to get to the point where they don't,listen, do not go jump off a bridge at my expense, but get to your point like in your, in your lives like LeBron PERSON where you don't need it, eh, hey, do you want to do this? A little, little extra DATE, extra day, no, don't need it. Get to the point where you can say no. That's the challenge in life.Get to a point where you can be appreciated and where you can say no.

Speaker 93424.78s - 3547.88s

Where you choose to work. That's it. You talk about it as blank you money or situations, and most folks never achieve that. But just from the work perspective, as you say, I mean, LeBron can now play the, you know, Lakers ORG,where you're at as an organization, you need me more than I need you. Yeah. There would be plenty of people, I think, lined up prospective free agents to come fill that salary cap pretty fast. There's no question about it. But when we talk about overall impact, et cetera, even with early exits, you know, it's still immense from the media coverage to the sales and everything that roll through it, the coverage and continuity. And let's face it, L.A. is a star town, so it flows to that. The sideline, you know, talking about you know, Brony James and what he becomes on the next level, I know there'sbeen a lot of discussion of him getting the NBA Combine invite. My guy, Boo Boo-Booey PERSON, one of your top guards in the game coming out of northwestern did not get invited in their number of names is like yeah that that's it they want attentionit's like everything else right this is a draft class that if we're to believe it is either a no good or if you are it's a lot being dominated from abroad as the game changes and and the globalization but that we're not getting the same level you know owing to the conversation we had last hour about men's college basketball versus women's college basketball and spotlights this year Ryan so if brawny james PERSON's appearance gets a spotlight on the rest of these guys and the and the doings over at the moody bible institute another i mean that's good forthe game, so why would you not invite him? Not to mention, hey, LeBron PERSON may show up or whoever else from Clutch Sports ORG, so you got more eyeballs, documentaries, etc. And as wecertainly talk about a lot, we love legacy plays. Now it makes me feel old as hell. Every time I see this guy junior and it's like, yeah, I watched his old man his entire

Speaker 193547.88s - 3573.82s

career and he's been retired for 10 years and now this guy gets drafted. Wait, now his kids retiring? Oh, no, his grandkids coming up. Now I'm truly old. But, you know, we were talkinga lot, you know, yesterday and through the end of the week about the Kentucky Derby and when we start talking about trying to make selections for future performance, what are we doing? We're trying to go through and figure out, hell, the WWE ORG, it's all about bloodline.

Speaker 03574.24s - 3578.26s

See what I did there? I get the rock in while I'm at it in the little Roman NORP rains.

Speaker 193578.26s - 3583.84s

But, you know, you're expecting greatness, but as long as you can link it to the game of today,

Speaker 03584.44s - 3585.48s

it's good for business.

Speaker 93585.62s - 3588.94s

It's good for marketing and sales, even if the kid never pans out.

Speaker 193590.56s - 3593.6s

Well, here's the thing with Brony PERSON that I want people to know this.

Speaker 03594.94s - 3601.04s

He's not as great as the expectations say, and he's definitely not as bad as some people

Speaker 53601.04s - 3672.08s

like to put to him. He definitely deserves the draft invite that he's gotten. He's an incredible talent. Physically, he's his dad, just a shorter version. He has the same size movements. We've seen it if you're taking a good look at Brony PERSON,and he fits the NBA ORG game. So he's somewhere in between. Like I said, does he deserve to be in the NBA ORG? Yeah, I think as far as, you know, the two-way contracts are given out and you see a lot of that in today's, you mean, like, Bronte can definitely play in the NBA ORG. There's no, there's no question. This is not a far reach of if he, he's an NBA ORG player, if he has the potential, if he cando it or not do it, he can do can do it okay let's make that very clear and very evident right now let's put those notions to rest and obviously is he going to have a bit of a knob because his dad is yes but he definitely can can play and he has the talent and the potential is there and it's still potential he didn't you, it's not like he's just been tearing things up. We're not going to pretend like he's been doing that. But, you know, he definitely has a shot to play in the NBA ORG.

Speaker 93672.08s - 3699.22s

Right. And it comes back to the NBA ORG draft is all about potential anyway, because we're usually drafting virtually all 18 and 19-year-old guys, maybe 20-year-old guys. It's all about, all right, are they going to grow another inch or two? Are they going to put some weight on? Are they going to develop? In this case, you had a guy playing on a squad coming off a heart attack, which is part of the backgroundhere. But, I mean, he wasn't cleared to play basketball until you were well into the season.

Speaker 53700.14s - 3753.94s

Yeah. Yeah. And one thing you mentioned, too, which is accurate, it's not a strong draft. This is one of the weaker drafts that we've seen in some time. It is not by any measure of strong draft. There's no clear cut number one. And maybe there's going to be some great role players, a diamond in the rough that we don't know about, but this is not one of the memorable drafts that we also see.But for LeBron PERSON, his mindset is saying, hey, we want Bronte drafted by the Lakers ORG, so we don't have to have any type of movement with that second round pick. Or going drafted, and I'm going to scare every other team out of going out and trying to get them. You know, scare every other team. And I think the chess match is to say,is someone going to challenge LeBron and clutching those guys and go out and say, hey, we're going to draft Ronnie PERSON just to mess some things up.

Speaker 23754.1s - 3760.16s

We're going to drop Ronnie PERSON just to see, because LeBron PERSON made the comments of I'm going to go play where my son plays.

Speaker 93761s - 3809.06s

Yeah, and I mean, there's been some reports the last week that maybe he's backed off that a little bit in terms of that being, you know, a career caper kind of thing. But I agree with you. If I'm on the second round, man, how many guys truly make it out of the second round? And I know we've got Nicola Yokic PERSON as the great example running right now. But one of those guys, there's no guaranteed contracts. So why would you not try to apply pressure? If nothing else, you get some buzz for your lower-level squad for a little while of what might happen, right? And the excitement thereof. So, yeah, I don't think there's any downside. And perhaps then you get to do one of those big sales pitches like when those guys were all free agents back in the day.

Speaker 53809.5s - 3828.3s

Hey, Mike, would you look down on an organization if they did that? No. Like, no, but what I'm saying is like, you know, LeBron wants him with him on the Lakers ORG. He wants that, you know, to be kind of something there. Would it be kind of like a petty move? Would you just like, come on, man. You didn't have to do that. Would you let like, we had a chance for him to play with his dad? Like, kind of like a petty move? Would you just like come on man, you didn't have to do that. Would you let like we had a chance for him to play with his dad?

Speaker 03828.38s - 3833.44s

Like would that be a petty move to do? Well, I think you still have the opportunity to go and

Speaker 93833.44s - 3838.7s

pitch the dad, right? If he hasn't re-up with the Lakers ORG by that point, because he doesn't have

Speaker 33838.7s - 3847.06s

to, right? So you, so you feel fair game. If somebody goes and does that fair game. 100%. Wow. 100%. Wow. 100%.

Speaker 93847.06s - 3847.38s

Yeah.

Speaker 33847.38s - 3866.82s

Wow. Again, it's a roster spot. Look, if he can come and claim it, two-way deal, whatever it is on that squad, that's all fine and good. But if it also puts me potentially in LeBron James PERSON coming to my town, particularly if you're one of these also-ran squads that aren't in the

Speaker 93866.82s - 3884.36s

playoff hunt, you're trying to put butts and seats, man. You're trying to be relevant. So, yeah, all's fair to me. Hey, coming up next, let's talk about the coaching side of things here. We've gone a little along with this discussion. He's Ryan Hollins at the Ryan Hollands FAC. Find me over at Swollen Dome. This is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio ORG.

Speaker 63983.44s - 3984.74s

Hey, welcome back in.

Speaker 93985.5s - 4047.8s

Fox Sports Sunday here, Fox Sports Radio ORG. Mike Harmon alongside Ryan Hollins PERSON live from the Tyraq.com. Fox Sports Radio Studios ORG, full slate of action ahead. We've already got some Premier League ORG on the pitch. Golf revving up, some motorsports as the day goes on. Of course, NBA, NHL ORG playoffs continue as well.Ryan PERSON, full slate of things, but it always seems to be a coach hiring season here in Los Angeles, somewhere along the line. And once again, the Lakers cycle out, Darwin Ham PERSON. Since Phil Jackson PERSON left, it's a never-ending cavalcade I think if Dan Byer PERSON were in the chairwe'd do a family feud of all the guys who coached at least one game for the Lakers ORG in the last 14 years and the top what 15 answers would be on the boards are there about including all those interimsso Darwin PERSON's out what do you do to maximize what's left of LeBron PERSON and how much input should he have?

Speaker 54049.4s - 4143.68s

If he's going to be there, he should have a lot of input. If LeBron is still the guy in L.A., and they have invested into him, he's still the best player on the Lakers ORG. He's still one of the better players than the entire NBA ORG. And I think what you do is, and this is what's really, really tough. And this is where I feel bad for the Lakers ORG. This is what's tough for them. You don't know how long LeBron PERSON is going to be LeBron for. And apparently he's got outlived of his expectations of how long he could be LeBron PERSON. And the reason I say it is, how do I explain this the best way? No one knew you'd get like LeBron PERSON playing at this level for this long. And he's still like really, really, not just kind of good. He's still very, very good.So as long as he's good, he's going to have that choice he's going to be the guy and even when lebron's done he's still going to have some input so the challenge is how long do we keep uh you know keep making him a priority but he's priority worth the value's there and you're seeing that with LeBron PERSON so he should definitely have a say things should be tailored around him and what you would normally do is you'd want your coach to match up with your best player so give or take let's say LeBron PERSON can do this for two more yearsand I feel crazy even saying this do we get a coach on a two-year deal that fits

Speaker 94143.68s - 4148.46s

with LeBron PERSON so that doesn't want to coach defense? Oh. Whatever. I mean, listen,

Speaker 54148.72s - 4151.68s

whatever you want to put it under, right? Whatever you want to say?

Speaker 94151.68s - 4156.12s

Oh, come on. You're just going to let that pass by? Come on. I laid that up on a tee

Speaker 54156.12s - 4158.42s

for you. Listen, I'm not going to fight that.

Speaker 94158.54s - 4171.3s

There are moments against the nuggets where LeBron PERSON was, he was gross. He was absolutely gross, giving a backdoor layups. He didn't even know where his dad was. And then there were a couple of times where he made great reads and stole the ball like it was old school.

Speaker 54172.22s - 4205.72s

Yeah. That's part of when you are older, there's part of that. We talked about just not caring. That's part of that not caring, okay? But for LeBron or for the Lakers ORG, you almost got a match up. Okay, LeBron PERSON, if we're going to let you handpick a coach, we're going to let you go out and go get J.J. Redick PERSON, right? We're going to mark J.J. Reddick's PERSON deal or put a team in option there around the time where we feel like LeBron PERSON may not be the same guy. But for right now, everything that he's shown is that he deserves to be able to handpick his coach

Speaker 94207.48s - 4271.72s

yeah still looks at least from the offensive end you've got two or three years of lifeline here so trying to construct the roster around it it's just the curiosity of you know guys have a look you're hired to be fired in all in all jobs certainly as an NBA ORG coach, just seems the lifeline there in organizational direction, they're rudderless, right? It's the, all right, I gave you one or. Let's see how fast you can go, oh, wait, I'm going in a circle. I'm not really moving forward here because it seems we end up back at the same place, right? I mean, you got a guy that won 90regular season games over two years. You got to the conference finals a year ago. And yes, they underachieved owing to what we said before, right? You had LeBron and AD ORG healthy virtually all season and still couldn't get there. But why is Rob Polinka PERSON, you know, blameless in the larger scale? Like, it seems like he gets a free pass of all this.

Speaker 54272.94s - 4277.68s

Oh, no, there's no way that Rob PERSON gets a free pass. The reason I say that is...

Speaker 94277.68s - 4280.98s

Well, but everybody's going after Darwin PERSON and not the roster construction.

Speaker 54281.28s - 4289.62s

That's the name of the game behind the scenes. That's some why... And here behind the scenes. That's some why and here's the thing. Don't feel bad for Darwin PERSON. Hats off to Darwin.

Speaker 94289.68s - 4292.26s

Oh no. He'll be fine. He'll have another job

Speaker 54292.26s - 4339.04s

and it'll get paid out. But even more so he knew taking the head coach of the Lakers job that he was going to be in a position where he would have to be himself. He'd have to do some controversialthings. He'd have to kind of be publicly scrutinized. He'd have to deal with, hey, LeBron PERSON and his frustrations. And when they set in, he knew that. Darbinham PERSON very much knew that. And Darbinham PERSON, in my opinion, did an excellent job in the position. But so you don't feel sorry for Darvin Ham PERSON because he's not asking. He's not going to be asking you or anyone to feel sorry for him. He knew what was going on. He knew what the deal was. And essentially at the end of the day, hey, man, I thought he did an excellent job. Barring all those factors, I thought Darwinham PERSON did an excellent job.

Speaker 94339.16s - 4345.22s

Didn't think you'd catch the stray he did from AD ORG when you bluntly say we didn't know what we were doing.

Speaker 54345.78s - 4441.94s

Here's where AD ORG has to be careful. For some reason the Lakers ORG say, we want to go out and get a name. We want somebody reputable, okay? You know what head coaches do?They talk. And they're going to look and be like, dude, I don't want to coach Anthony Davis. If that type of behavior is okay and validated, I don't want to coach Anthony Davis PERSON. If that type of behavior is okay and validated, I don't want to coach anybody that it was a cheap move. You don't, I don't care. Maybe Darwin PERSON didn't do a great job in that situation. You don't do that when you still have a chance that you're competing in the playoffs. You just don't do that. It's a cheap move. You're throwing your coach, your guy in the playoffs. You just don't do that. It's a cheap move. You're throwing your coach, your guy, under the bus. And I don't think it went over well. And if I'm a coach, I'm going and you're the Lakers ORG,you want to get a reputable coach, right? You want to bring in a name, right? You want to get someone who has value. They don't want to touch that job with a 10-foot pole because of the things that you have to go against. So you're in a position, hey, you might as well go get,you know, go get a, you know, let LeBron PERSON pick his coach. Let go get a guy that he, that he validates that he feels comfortable with. Anthony Davis PERSON feels comfortable, right, right? Because then if there's a situation that they feel goes right or goes wrong, don't go throwing that guy into the bus. Well, he's your guy. He's your guy. So you wrong, don't go throwing that guy under the bus. Well, he's your guy. He's your guy, so you shouldn't be throwing your guy under the bus.But I thought it was a really cheap move, even if Anthony Davis PERSON was right, even if there was confusion behind the scenes with a couple of those situations. You don't say it publicly. That was wrong.

Speaker 94442.5s - 4506.5s

Heavy is the head who wears the crown. And you could use that either for, you know, everything that people throw at the LeBron PERSON world, or certainly those that take jobs coaching him. The Anthony Davis PERSON thing, you know, normally that's filtered to it anonymously to a guy in the back. So, it tells you where you were at there. And I agree with you. But it is one of 30, so you'll take the guaranteed money and move out. We'll talk about guaranteed money in a whole other way in a minute. But a reminder, shortly after the show, the podcast goes up. If you missed any of today's show, be sure to check it out. Searching Fox Sports Radio ORG, wherever you get your podcast, be sure to follow, rate, review it. Tell us how brilliant we sounded in these discussions this morning. Again, search Fox Sports Radio ORG, wherever it gets to podcast. You'll see this show.Fox Sports Sunday, Hollins, and Harmon PERSON, posted right after we get off the air. We'll get to that contract that I alluded to in a moment. First, let's go to a man who's, well, right now the most powerful voice in radio. He's our guy, Isaac Lowencrown PERSON. Why, thank you. There it is. For that

Speaker 144506.5s - 4539.62s

deeper and deeper. When he said powerful, my voice just went down an octave. So I appreciate that. Game one, Mike, of the NBA's Western Conference semifinals on Saturday night saw Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves poor in a playoff career high 43 points as they stole game one at Denver ORG from the defending champions 106 to 99. Minnesota, meanwhile, forced seven turnovers by Denver ORG superstar Nikola Yokic PERSON leading to this exchange and this question to Yokic in the postgame news conference.

Speaker 124539.62s - 4554.02s

What's the adjustment that you can make to, you know, Rudy Gaubert's length and, you know, not only that, them just rotating three fresh bigs on you, you know, for most of the game. To have a duplicate clone of myself.

Speaker 194557.22s - 4561.72s

Nikola Yokic, two shows nightly at the Cherry Creek Hampton Inn FAC.

Speaker 144562.24s - 4605.14s

Anyway, in the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday night, the Boston Bruins won game seven of their opening round clash with the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime 2-1, Boston's David Posternock PERSON, scoring the series winner a minute and 54 seconds into OT. In Major League Baseball Saturday night, Max Muncie of the Los Angeles Dodgers hit three home runsand an 11-2 win over the Atlanta Braves ORG. The San Diego Padres won in Arizona 13 to 1. Luis Arise went four for six. It is San Diego GPE debut. Earlier Saturday, Mystic Dan won the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby in a photo finish over Sierra Leone GPE. He was probably regretting getting that nose job.Mike and Ryan PERSON, back to you.

Speaker 94605.86s - 4609.92s

One of the craziest photo finishes that you see.

Speaker 144610.02s - 4615s

It's like one's high, one's low, and then you've got the 11 mix therein.

Speaker 94615.2s - 4668.82s

Great finish, great race yesterday. Churchill Downs FAC. I have an update from the guys on the road back from Churchill Downs because we have to discuss their option for breakfast on the long and arduous road back from Churchill Downs FAC because we have to discuss their option for breakfast on the long and arduous road back from Churchill Downs to Chicago. We'll get to that coming up in a couple minutes. But the power of contracts, Ryan Hollins PERSON, I just wanted to point this out, my belovedChicago Bulls. After missing two plus seasons with a knee injury, Lonzo Ball was able to exercise a $21.4 million option on his contract for the 2024-25 season. Three surgeries and a lot of, well, shaking hands and clapping in his last couple of years with the Bulls ORG. Boy, the power of the union and guaranteed contracts in the NBA showing at its best right herefor the players.

Speaker 54669.68s - 4686.58s

I love it. You want to know why when a guy's on a rookie deal and he's averaging 20 or 30 points or outplaying his contract? No one goes, man, that team is really goodin a way with the value and they're selling millions of dollars in Jersey GPE sales. No, that's exactly what we say. They're getting away with the value. And they're selling millions of dollars in Jersey sales.

Speaker 94686.58s - 4691.64s

No, that's exactly what we say. They're getting away with the value. I mean, we probably do it more in the NFL than we do the NBA ORG.

Speaker 54691.9s - 4747.38s

It gets frowned upon more so from a player's, oh, he hadn't even played. When you sign a contract, you are projecting, okay, what you do. You are making an investment. When that portfolio comes out or you got an investment plan we're going to say hey invest in this it's not a guarantee but it looks like this is going to work out if you pay this money you know this is going to come back to youyou know that's what that's that's it's an investment and unfortunately no one saw that lonso would be hurt otherwise they wouldn't have paid on the money and guess what they still own the money you don't just get the back out on the money okay so i'm not going to bat an i'm not going to wing i'm not going to do anything is this there's nothing it's part of the game because a lot of times the organizations you know they are making those same moves. And you know what? The players outplay their contract.

Speaker 94748.6s - 4761.48s

Well, I mean, that was the old staying in Chicago, the old Scotty Pippin PERSON thing. You sure you want to sign this long-term deal? Yeah, I want the security. I want to. You sure you want to sign this long-term deal? Because we're not renegotiating.

Speaker 54762.18s - 4779.5s

No, it is 100% a part of it. It's a part of the game. And, hey, you've got to respect it when it goes the other way, you know, at the end of the day. And I think this is one of those situations. But Lonzo Ball PERSON is worth that, you know, that contract. And, you know, hey, it's paying off, man.

Speaker 94779.72s - 4812.52s

Paid off for him. And if he doesn't play another minute, there's insurances and other things that kick in as well. We know the other side of that. But, you know, it's just always, you know, when a player has that opportunity to cashin and exercise. But let's face it, the other side is if you're not happy, in today's hell in any league at this point, Ryan PERSON, you basically say, I want out and you can find anotherperson, another team to find that contract and re-up you. Because that's the name of the

Speaker 54812.52s - 4866.36s

game at this point as well. Here's the frustration that people have, and I think this is what you're speaking to, Mike. In the NBA ORG, it's a players league. So the players have choice, and we just talked about LeBron James and Darvindham PERSON and those guys. We're not saying that the Lakers did it because LeBron James PERSON was unhappy. But guess what? There are players understand their voice. They know that they are heard. And they know in these situations, guess what? The coach is going to go before the players go. And that's what we're seeing with a lot of the, a lot of these things going on here. And because of that, hey,Laws PERSON the ball's going to get his money. The players don't have to take these non-guaranteed contracts, okay? And because it's a guaranteed contract, whether he's hurt, unless if he just does something unethical, he's going to get his money. And we're seeing that here.

Speaker 94867.18s - 4889.38s

Well, everybody just wishes their jobs afforded them the same level of power. He's Ryan Hollins PERSON. I'm Mike Harmon PERSON here. Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio ORG. Coming up next, yeah, we talk about questionable breakfast choices, and then the goat debate, but centralized around one series in the NBA ORG playoffs to come. We'll talk about that next year on Fox ORG.

Speaker 204889.8s - 4925.6s

Speaker 64971.12s - 4973.76s

This is Uncanny USA ORG.

Speaker 324990s - 4992.56s

Hey, welcome back in.

Speaker 64993.2s - 4995.22s

Fox Sports Sunday here, Fox Sports Radio ORG.

Speaker 314995.34s - 5002.9s

Mike Harmon, Ryan Hollins, with you as we roll through and get ready for a full day of our sporting world.

Speaker 65003.1s - 5006.48s

We've gotten the updates from Isaac Lohengrond PERSON. You've got injury notes.

Speaker 15006.9s - 5012.26s

Looking at Jared Allen, Willie, or Woney for game seven a little later, Cleveland and Orlando GPE.

Speaker 65012.38s - 5018.22s

But I got to pay off the tease. My brothers and friends, hi Bernsey PERSON. They're driving back from

Speaker 95018.22s - 5044.52s

Churchill Downs after a big day at the races, the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby EVENT. Ilo talking about the photo finish a little bit earlier. Guys, they were trying to stop for breakfast along the highways and byways of America GPE, right? Middle America LOC getting after it. And they found the place closed. But I got to ask, how often do we go to Arby's ORG for breakfast?Whoa.

Speaker 185044.82s - 5045.42s

How about that?

Speaker 95045.66s - 5047.26s

A little bit of a left turn, right?

Speaker 155047.34s - 5049.72s

Not McDonald's ORG, not.

Speaker 185049.98s - 5051.94s

You know, hey. I think when I live down

Speaker 155051.94s - 5054.04s

in Savannah, Georgia, they did

Speaker 185054.04s - 5056.06s

do breakfast of the Arby ORG's there, and it

Speaker 155056.06s - 5057.76s

was very good. It was like

Speaker 95057.76s - 5059.32s

sausage egg and cheese biscuits.

Speaker 155060.18s - 5062.24s

Kind of remind me the ones they had, like, Tim Hortons

Speaker 95062.24s - 5062.86s

in the north.

Speaker 155063.7s - 5065.78s

Ryan PERSON, what do you say to that?

Speaker 95066.52s - 5067.78s

I don't think I've ever done it.

Speaker 155068.46s - 5069.52s

See, now I'm intrigued.

Speaker 95070.36s - 5070.6s

Ever.

Speaker 155071.2s - 5073.48s

I don't even know if I knew Arby's ORG had breakfast.

Speaker 55073.48s - 5078.6s

It is probably just regional franchises just picking up breakfast on their own.

Speaker 155078.6s - 5083.72s

Well, speaking of regional, isn't Louisville in Waffle House ORG territory?

Speaker 35084.44s - 5085.76s

They're open 24 hours.

Speaker 55086.5s - 5088.38s

Even McDonald ORG's you've got to be able to find.

Speaker 155088.5s - 5090.52s

Like, Arby's ORG just seems like such a last resort.

Speaker 145090.68s - 5092.48s

Now, let me throw this out here.

Speaker 95092.56s - 5095.8s

I did get a photo from them from the road here, Ryan PERSON.

Speaker 145096.36s - 5099.4s

My brother was wearing a straight out of Arby's ORG t-shirt.

Speaker 155099.98s - 5104.82s

And he style would be straight out of top-ton album cover.

Speaker 95106.12s - 5108.28s

I'm literally on the RBS ORG website right now

Speaker 115108.28s - 5109.9s

and they don't even have

Speaker 145109.9s - 5111.96s

breakfast items on their own

Speaker 95111.96s - 5114.06s

menu. So yeah. Now remember, breakfast

Speaker 145114.06s - 5116.1s

is in any time food, though. That's

Speaker 95116.1s - 5126.08s

the other thing, though. Right? It doesn't have to be traditional breakfast foods. I mean, who's to say that a beef sandwich? You know, a beef and cheddar doesn't constitute breakfast

Speaker 55126.08s - 5131.76s

for somebody. But you got at least, like, put it on a biscuit or something. You can't just leave it. You got it.

Speaker 155132.38s - 5134s

It's eggs. Eggs is the big

Speaker 95134s - 5142.08s

thing. That makes it breakfast for me. It's like, does your sandwich have eggs on it? Yes or no? I like that Ilo PERSON's going full research mode here. No, I've had it before.

Speaker 155142.08s - 5150.62s

I've had it before. I just don't know how like how many places really keep it around. Sorry about that. Feedback. Are you going to start, did you

Speaker 95150.62s - 5155.08s

plug in a guitar? Yeah. We're going to get a song now or what? Sorry about that. There are pictures out there.

Speaker 155155.08s - 5160.3s

There are pictures of certain Arby's ORG drive-thrus that have this. Yeah, go on. Ilaw. Apparently there is

Speaker 145160.3s - 5172.24s

a item called blueberry muffin French NORP toastics. And toastics is spelled T-O-A-S-T-I-X at Arby's for Breakfast ORG.

Speaker 95173.28s - 5191.9s

Which means toastics in the general sense was probably trademarked by somebody else. Burger King ORG, yeah. How do you feel about this, Ryan PERSON? I think I like going bold and being off the map. I mean, I've had breakfast Rosco ORG map. I mean, I've had breakfastRosco ORG's. I mean, I guess there's waffles involved, but still fried chicken. So what's the difference?

Speaker 55192.66s - 5206.94s

I'm all in with it. The more the merrier. I like options. More options, the better. I'm in with it. Hey, Arby ORG, keep it going. We'd like to see more places who don'thave breakfast. Give us some options. You know, hey, I'm in with it. All in. At, keep it going. We'd like to see more places who don't have breakfast. Give us some options, you know? Hey, I'm in with it.

Speaker 95207.02s - 5212.18s

I did. At the Ryan Hollins ORG, if you have a breakfast joint. I mean, he travels a lot with the Rockets ORG.

Speaker 155212.8s - 5220.46s

Eat all day breakfast back. That got taken from us from McDonald's ORG before the pandemic. We were so close to greatness all day breakfast.

Speaker 95220.92s - 5221.62s

Now's the time.

Speaker 55222.02s - 5228.88s

Now's the time to make your voice. All day breakfast. I'm in with that. All day breakfast. Yeah, certainly time. Now's the time to make your voice. All day breakfast. I'm in with that. All day breakfast. Yeah, certainly,

Speaker 95229.18s - 5295.78s

locally you can find places like that now I'm on the website and I'm going down a deep dark rabbit hole. Appreciate you fellas. Ian PERSON, Isaac and Chris there at Chris Perfet PERSON at Isaac Lowenkron where you find them in the Twitterverse. Ian PERSON, shout out. You got an X account that you want to put out.At Ian Roddy PERSON underscore. Get the extra underscore there at the Ryan Hollins ORG. Find me over at Swollen Dome ORG. Coming up next, Ryan PERSON, we take our conversation into goat status. And no, it's not Michael LeBron PERSON and some of the usual tired things. Now, we're going to centralize it in New York because for first time in a long time, the New York Knicks are relevant beyond the screaming of one Jason Smith at night here on Fox Sports Radio from 7 to 11 Pacific Time and from other national talking heads who may or not may have missed the trade deadline or may have missed how players are actually being deployed. You know who you are, and I know you're listening out there.Ryan PERSON, as we ponder breakfast, have you had breakfast yet? I mean, it is a little later there in Houston GPE. I have not had breakfast

Speaker 55295.78s - 5297.12s

yet. I did not.

Speaker 95297.5s - 5313.8s

Is Arby's ORG on the radar now? Might we get him down towards an Arby ORG's? I don't know. That's a tease coming up uh nicks talk yeah you love it we'll talk it next john fox you're listening to fox sports radio radio

Speaker 165313.8s - 5319.64s

cruising right along with you final hour of the program coming up live from the tire rack.com studios

Speaker 95319.64s - 5373.24s

tyrack ORG dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection fast, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over 10,000 recommended installers. Tyraq.com ORG, the way tire buying should be. Good morning. Wherever you may be listening, appreciate you, giving us a few minutes of your time. I'm by Carmen alongside me, 10-year NBA ORG vet.Man who works over in the planet Houston GPE. Now with the Houston Rockets coming off a big season. It's my guy, Ryan Hollins PERSON, with his ties back here to you. C, get your eight clap in. LA, now members of the Big Ten ORG conference. Ryan Hollins, it has been a fantastic fast two hours. Now we go for hour three. And tell me, what's it like being on the road as an announcer, a broadcaster, and getting ready for games? It's challenging.

Speaker 55374.16s - 5393.54s

And I say challenging in the sense of, I thought, you know, traveling in the NBA ORG was tough. But when you don't have practice to do, you got to find time to work out. You got to find time to eat right, man. You don't find yourself eating a little too much of that Arby ORG's breakfast, man.

Speaker 195394.46s - 5397.16s

You end up sitting around.

Speaker 55397.34s - 5402.68s

So, like, you know, after work, after stuff, after everybody's done everything, you got to go work out.

Speaker 195402.78s - 5404.84s

You got to go and eat right.

Speaker 55404.84s - 5432.44s

And then you got to kind of manage your time. So it is very challenging. And I'll give you a little fun fact that probably nobody thought about. Hit me. The broadcasters, the color guys, we are the only ones in the entire traveling party that still wear suits. No, that's actually a good point. It is rare. You might get a general manager, right, that wears a suit still, right?

Speaker 95432.6s - 5435.12s

Otherwise, you go full Darwin Ham PERSON in your track suit.

Speaker 35435.78s - 5438.42s

Well, a lot of people do not wear suits anymore.

Speaker 95438.62s - 5441.58s

By the way, with Darwin Ham PERSON, you know, I kept thinking of the meme.

Speaker 35441.96s - 5445.4s

Remember the one from Arthur PERSON where he's got the shaking fist?

Speaker 95446.28s - 5449.46s

Maybe that's why Darwin Ham PERSON, because he didn't want to show his anger with the Lakers ORG.

Speaker 55450.18s - 5451.26s

Darwin PERSON's got some big fists.

Speaker 95451.38s - 5453.56s

Why he always had the hands in the pocket because that

Speaker 55453.56s - 5458.46s

was a rubber joke. You don't want to see those Darwin Ham PERSON fists going all over the place. I'll tell you that much.

Speaker 95458.52s - 5481.52s

That's a big, hey-he and ha-ha from the internet. Those are some big hands. That's a big man. You don't want to upset. I'll say that. But I'm thinking about it now now ryan i mean the keeping your discipline on your diet right because you got some time uh when you get to a city to kind of hang making sure you're gettinginto the uh the fitness center at the hotel yeah and being suited up i mean you know i'm

Speaker 55481.52s - 5527.78s

listen how about this i'm seven feet tall. I wear a size 17. Those aren't little shoes in suits that I'm lugging around. Those are big suits. That's a big bag and everybody has these jokes. Oh, what are you travelingfor the next two, three weeks? You know, where are you going, man? Are you, are you moving away? There's something you want to tell us? It's all these jokes and it's like, you guys are not wearing three piece suits I am you guys are wearingyour track pants and you know your fun stuff I'm the one okay that has to wear these suits me and my guy Craig PERSON okay me and Craig wear the suit so that's the most challenging thing now there are some general managersthat will wear a suit and you know put some slacks on it's the game for the most part everybody's casual. But us. It makes travel very hard, but I'm not complaining. I love what I do.

Speaker 95528.04s - 5533.78s

That goes back to my old sports broadcasting thing of the fact that guys are still wearing suits.

Speaker 55534.08s - 5537.94s

I used to have to do that doing video segments for fantasy football. It's like, really?

Speaker 95538.86s - 5540.16s

I got a suit up for that.

Speaker 05540.56s - 5555.56s

I'm going to be more authoritative because I'm wearing a nice three-piece suit and a pink tie. I don't think so. I don't think it works that way. Now, let me ask you this. If you were to think of the greatest Knicks ORG of all time, where does your brain go?

Speaker 95556.66s - 5567.68s

Walt Frazier, Patrick Ewing, Carmelo PERSON in the conversation in there.

Speaker 55570s - 5577.42s

Sure, there's someone a lot older than I was not old enough to watch play, but that's where I go when I think all-time Knicks ORG.

Speaker 95577.88s - 5587.28s

Charles Oakley had some interesting comments that Mark Jackson PERSON felt like he had to go and respond to, and he did so with one of the great alongside him.

Speaker 25587.9s - 5589.3s

I'm not asking you to comment on it.

Speaker 95589.42s - 5608.06s

I'll handle us. We love Oaks FAC, a warrior, a tremendous teammate, tremendous guy, but Oakesh made a statement that Jalen Brunson PERSON is the greatest New York Nick basketball player since Clyde Frazier PERSON. Timeout. Are you kidding me?Again, I love you, O you, but what are we doing?

Speaker 25608.66s - 5637s

Let me introduce you again to the greatest, not just since Clive Frazier, the greatest New York Nick ORG basketball player of all time. That includes everybody. If you put everybody that ever played in the blue and orange, and you put them on a draft board, the number one pick is Patrick Hewinn PERSON. So that's nothing against Jalen Brunsonand what he's been able to accomplish in the incredible year DATE that he's put together and what he's going to do moving forward. But it is beyond question that this guy is the best to ever do it in Blue and Iron ORG.

Speaker 95637.94s - 5700.88s

Mark Jackson PERSON, appearing at a podcast alongside Patrick Hewing PERSON. It's funny how Brunson PERSON wins them A-series, and we like Jalen Brunson PERSON, right? Because he's not seven feet in dominating. He's not, you know, he's a guy that was, his contract kind of bashed a little bit as he got signed by the Knicks ORG and all and talk about his dad and everything else. But especially when he has that clip, say he refused to have Michael Jordan PERSON autograph a jerseyfor him at one point because he said it would ruin the jersey, which I thought was pretty funny. But, you know, Carmelo PERSON's career kind of gets passed by. I mean, certainly Patrick Ewing PERSON. I mean, do they have beef? I didn't know about him in Oaks FAC. I know Oak has issues with James Dolanand folks there at the Garden there, Ryan PERSON. But, you know, Patrick Ewing PERSON, one of those guys who was unfortunately in that time where he was overshadowed by Michael Jordan and the OJ Chase PERSON. Well, I think it's just,

Speaker 55701.68s - 5713.32s

we've all been prisoners of some recency bias. You've got to appreciate what he's doing, and maybe he just forgot, Pat PERSON. You know, maybe he forgot. It's easy. It's been a long time. I mean, how long.

Speaker 95713.5s - 5719.04s

How do you forget about Pat PERSON? Pat was the guy you played alongside for years. You're right.

Speaker 55719.08s - 5720.32s

It might be some beef. Who knows?

Speaker 95720.32s - 5724.08s

I mean, that's the story that comes out of that for me.

Speaker 55724.18s - 5729.18s

It's like, wait, are they beefing and I don't know about it? With Oak?

Speaker 95729.2s - 5730.6s

Which could very well be the days.

Speaker 35731.08s - 5732.4s

With Oak, you never know.

Speaker 95732.48s - 5734.76s

A lot of those former players, they're very, very competitive.

Speaker 35735.66s - 5737.44s

Those guys are edgy.

Speaker 95737.54s - 5764.42s

There's a reason why they were as great as they were. And who knows, there may be some beef. Who knows? I don't know. I'm not speaking to it. I'm not throwing it out, but we're trying to make logic of it. Who knows? I don't know. I'm not speaking to it.I'm not throwing it out, but we're trying to make logic of it. And you literally, you never know. Yeah, when you throw out something and you just dismiss the guy you were playing alongside, I got to ask some questions. But, I mean, you go through with the Knicks and even looking at Carmelo Anthony PERSON. I mean, he averaged, what, nearly 25 a game for them.

Speaker 45767.38s - 5767.5s

They didn't win. It's the most winning the Knicks ORG have done.

Speaker 95769.16s - 5769.66s

But all you did was beat the Sixers ORG.

Speaker 35773.12s - 5775.66s

No, that's not all you can do. If you're in New York GPE... If he goes forward and has a huge run, then sure, but...

Speaker 45775.66s - 5779.8s

If you are a New York GPE fan, and you haven't...

Speaker 35779.8s - 5784.06s

You haven't had playoffs? You haven't have one in the playoffs and how long?

Speaker 95784.2s - 5785.62s

No, it's why I mean, since Patrick Ewing PERSON.

Speaker 55786.12s - 5787.42s

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 95787.66s - 5788.16s

Guess what?

Speaker 55788.2s - 5789.94s

It's not just all you did, okay?

Speaker 95790.06s - 5791.28s

I'm telling you that right now, Mike.

Speaker 35791.28s - 5792.64s

It's not just all you did.

Speaker 55792.72s - 5794.64s

And then it's even sweeter.

Speaker 35795.4s - 5797.1s

I don't know if you feel the same way, Mike.

Speaker 55798.22s - 5819.78s

When you weren't expecting this, when you just said the Knicks ORG are going to be good, we're going to be competitive, and I'm okay with that. And then they win, and then they don't just beat anybody. You beat Philly GPE? You beat Philly GPE? You beat the guys right there, right down the street? Oh, my goodness. It's a proud time.

Speaker 95819.94s - 5868.08s

Those are the fun seasons DATE. No, the added pettiness of the ticket thing and everything just took it over the top. There's no question about that. But go back. I mean, you look at the Eastern Conference ORG.It's been for the entirety of the year was the Celtics ORG and this huge gap in everybody else. And then Milwaukee, whatever the hell happened after Doc Rivers PERSON showed up, the disaster that was, not to mention the exit of pat beverly you want to jump on that one for a minute if anybody missed what you had to say on friday throwing the ball at folks and then the the interview stuff i mean that's bush league ORG material on many levels and probably a massive suspension to follow but otherwise the eastern conference has been a bunch of, all right, wait and see.So why not the Knicks ORG?

Speaker 55869.88s - 5884.34s

Well, this is what I talk about with Jason, Jason on Friday. And we had to agree here, and I had to give him credit. I said, he did like the way. Well, he did like the way I worded it. You don't.

Speaker 95886.14s - 5887.88s

Well, I mean, he's. this is what I said to him I said

Speaker 55887.88s - 5898.42s

my partner during the week uh on a bash Jets Knicks ORG and Matt Superfan to the point of uh for me sometimes nausea yeah it was gross it was gross

Speaker 95898.42s - 5901.7s

I mean the thing that I say that with all the love and respect that I can't

Speaker 55901.7s - 5933.26s

the things that he did Friday they were gross they were illegal in 50 states. Okay. Shout to Jason's fit, by the way. Okay. But the one thing that I told him is I said the Knicks ORG are not going to win the championship. But if they were to win a championship, this would be the year to win the championship. Prozingis is out. Yonis PERSON is out. And B. was hurt. This is a year. This is the year for the Knicks to win the championship. Prozingis is out. Yonis is out. Embed PERSON was hurt. This is a year. This is the year for the Knicks ORG to win a championship, but I don'tthink they're going to win the championship. Damian Lillard had the Achilles PRODUCT. Yep.

Speaker 95933.92s - 5935.6s

This is the year.

Speaker 55936.16s - 5938.06s

Okay? This is the year.

Speaker 95938.48s - 5949.26s

Sometimes it all flows together. It is a very, I mean, look, in the NBA ORG at this point, when we look at a, what is it, three and a half month playoff run, it's a war of attrition.

Speaker 185949.68s - 5951.52s

And it has been the last couple of years.

Speaker 95951.52s - 5958s

And the lamentation when guys take an extra day off or whatever during the regular season, I can't blame him.

Speaker 55958.36s - 5964.34s

And then he proceeded. He doesn't stop there. Just so you know, I don't know if you're listening. We assume you always listen.

Speaker 95964.52s - 5965.1s

No, no, I don't. No,'re listening. We assume you always listen. No.

Speaker 55967.14s - 5968.14s

No, I didn't listen. I'll be real honest.

Speaker 35968.56s - 5974.48s

Knowing that he was going to bombard you with Nick PERSON's talk, I took the mental health day away from Nick's talk.

Speaker 55974.84s - 5979.18s

He proceeded to kick Julius Randall PERSON off the team for assets. Did he?

Speaker 95979.82s - 5980.22s

Yeah.

Speaker 55980.66s - 5983.52s

That's where, yeah, he just went there.

Speaker 95983.52s - 5988.42s

What I thought funny was Josh Hart PERSON, like in a series where it was all about our toughness and being together,

Speaker 55988.88s - 5993.04s

where Josh Hart PERSON made sure to point out the, hey, we're winning with this guy off.

Speaker 95993.12s - 6002.02s

So just remember, this big component of ours and he started citing stats, he's not here, basically saying if we end up losing to the Sixers ORG. Remember, Julius PERSON wasn't here.

Speaker 56003.34s - 6009.98s

Yeah, but, but essentially Mr. Smith decided to kick Julius Randall

Speaker 36009.98s - 6011.88s

off the team for assets. He does that every year.

Speaker 96011.88s - 6014s

He moved

Speaker 56014s - 6027.62s

forward and, you know, I'm like, wow, I thought this is, you know, once a Nick PERSON, always a Nick, you know, a thing like that, he moved forward right right before our eyes. And I was dumbfounded.I could not believe what I was hearing.

Speaker 96031.46s - 6034.74s

Did he put Joel Embed in a Nick PERSON's uniform in doing so? I don't know if he's been trying to speak that into existence.

Speaker 56036.7s - 6041.22s

Yeah, I mean, no, no. Oh, it was Paul George PERSON. Paul George PERSON was a Nick. Paul George was a Nick. That's what was going on.

Speaker 96041.46s - 6046.28s

Because what I think playoff and clutch performances and consistency, I think Paul George PERSON.

Speaker 56046.58s - 6054.96s

Yeah. Well, listen, the Clippers ORG no longer needed his services and there's going to be a big trade and it was Julius Randall and, you know, some assets for Paul George PERSON.

Speaker 196055.16s - 6081.28s

That's where he went and, you know, I mean, I had no parts of it. I couldn't, I couldn't believe it. He wanted, you know, he's slick about it because he wanted me to, he wanted me to kind of be like, yeah, man, that makes a lot of sense. This should work for both sides. He wanted me to go there. And I was like, what? No, I'm not going there.I'm not putting the guy off the team. I mean, what's wrong with you? You know, he wanted me to do that. I'm not doing that with him.

Speaker 96081.44s - 6085.8s

That's what he does. He's already working on the next iteration of the squad. Yeah, he wanted me to say it. He wanted this to, no, that's not what I'm not doing that with him. That's what he does. He's already working on the next iteration of the squad.

Speaker 56086.44s - 6098.62s

Yeah, he wanted me to say it. He wanted this to, no, it's not what I'm saying. This is not okay because the guy's injured to just, you know, put an end to him. No. No. Yeah, he had a good run.

Speaker 96099.12s - 6121.44s

It's really where Smith PERSON comes. Like, now, as an injured asset, where can we go and find value? The fact that he went to Paul George, I'll have to bring that up to him when I see him next. No question about that. Clippers ORG, obviously, in a strange state as well. The fact that we have a lot of conversation about Tai Lu and extensions is kind of funny. It's like, you still got a year left on the deal.

Speaker 56122.2s - 6125.24s

Yeah, I mean, he's just completely... They're not going to let him walk across the hallway.

Speaker 96126.24s - 6127.28s

No, no, no.

Speaker 56127.7s - 6145.44s

They're not. But he just... He's all over the place. And, you know, it is... You know, I love what Ty Lewis said, and I work with Ty in L.A. And in Boston ORG, and, you know, someone asked him about it.And he was just like, man, it's flattering. It's always good to be wanted. No, sure., it's flattering. It's always good to be wanted.

Speaker 96145.7s - 6146.9s

That is the approach.

Speaker 56147.02s - 6148.34s

It is always good to be wanted.

Speaker 96148.4s - 6158.08s

That's a good quote. Take that into your day, wherever you may be, however you're listening, and whomever you're listening with. Maybe you just turn to the person next to you say, see, it's all I need to hear once in a while.

Speaker 56158.84s - 6160.04s

It's always good to be wanted, right?

Speaker 96160.6s - 6162.16s

Exactly. What's wrong with that? That's all right.

Speaker 56162.34s - 6167.1s

So your significant other? Hey, always good to be wanted. Just got to make it known. That's all right. The Ryan Holland PERSON. You're a significant other. Hey, always good to be wanted. Just got to make it known.

Speaker 96167.56s - 6186.76s

That's it. Sometimes you have to say it. Ryan Hollins with the sage advice via Tailu PRODUCT. At the Ryan Hollins ORG, where you find them on Twitter. Find me over at Swollen Dome ORG. You know, talking about goats.Let's talk about villains. And one NFL ORG player who had his realization moment of maybe I've crossed to the other side. We'll talk about that next.

I'm Katia Adler, host of the global story. Over the last 25 years, I've covered conflicts in the Middle East, political and economic crises in Europe, drug cartels in Mexico GPE. Now I'm covering the stories behind the news all over the world in conversation with those who break it. Join me Monday to Friday to find out what's happening, why, and what it all means. Follow the global story from the BBC ORG wherever you listen to podcasts.

Speaker 96281.28s - 6325.38s

Hey, welcome back in. It's Fox Sports Radio's Fox Sports Sunday, Mike Harmon, alongside Ryan Hollins, at the Ryan Hollins, where you find him. Find me over at Swollen Dome. And of course, follow us always at Fox Sports Radio. As we come to you live live live live, the old phrase, right? You live long enough to see yourself become the villain. We're stealing straight from Batman PERSON. Well, one NFL ORG quarterback, a baby face, if we were to take the WWE ORG Parlands, felt like he found that moment. Speaking on theimpulsive podcast, yes, that with Logan Paul PERSON. Here's Patrick Mahomes PERSON talking about that moment.

Speaker 86325.82s - 6352.42s

This year definitely was a more villain-type role for the whole team. I don't think I really realized it. Like, I had heard people like talking and like, obviously, social media, there's people always talking. So I didn't know how real it was until I got to Buffalo this year. And I think I saw 40,000 middle fingers on the way into the stadium. We go out there and win. I'm trying to hand me, you know, I'm trying to hand my headband and sleeve off to a kid, and they're just snowballed. You're just flying at me. Headband and sleeve.

Speaker 96352.72s - 6355.64s

Trying to take care of a kid. Look, I'm still getting pelted.

Speaker 06356.1s - 6361.16s

But, man, that's got to be the best feeling in the world, right?

Speaker 96361.76s - 6408.16s

Because now you know you've gotten over on a full level. Again, WWE Parliance ORG., like you have won over a crowd to where they're all against you. And there's nothing dislikable about the chiefs except they win. Because we get bored or we get angry. We did it with the Warriors ORG. People got tired of the long jettos.A lot of what we talk about with LeBron Jans PERSON. People got over it with Brady and the Patriots ORG. Like you're become tired of, but also to the villain status. And maybe Bill PERSON don't like Taylor Swift, so they went after Travis Kelseyin that regard. But I don't know. I got to think if I'm an athlete, it's got to be a pretty cool feeling because if 40,000 people hate me, it means I'm pretty damn good at what I'm doing, and I'm probably beating them with some regularity.

Speaker 56408.66s - 6435.6s

You're right about that, but I mean, listen, this is elite company. This is elite talk. So I don't know what it's like, but, you know, Patrick Mahomes PERSON is a very likable guy. He wants to be liked so that, I mean, that kind of stinks. Like I feel bad for him, man. He wants to be liked. He, I mean, that kind of stinks. Like, I feel bad for him, man. He wants to be liked. He's likable. He's positive. I mean, you hear him. He's giving his, he's looking, and this sounds like a consistent thing. Give it his head man to a kid.

Speaker 96435.6s - 6449.8s

I like that random, not so random, if you know what I'm saying. I'm kind of throwing a second. I'm trying to help out a kid. Look, I'm giving him my sleeve in my headband. And they're pelting me with snowballs. Oh, the horror.

Speaker 56451.54s - 6505.1s

Yeah, that's not, you know, that's, it's not nice. That stinks. He's a good guy. But you know what? Hats off. And I think everybody felt this.Lamar Jackson PERSON was so likable. I think that you wanted to see Lamar PERSON, you know, in that position. And I think you just kind of had enough of Mahomes PERSON winning. And then honestly, I think just the Taylor Swift thing, it just consumed the NFL ORG. It consumed them. And that's where, you know, a lot consumed the NFL ORG. It consumed them. That's where, you know, a lot of the frustrations came from.People were kind of just tired of, you know, she's big, big down coming up. You look over and it's like, what does Taylor Swift PERSON think? I mean, she was getting into NFL ORG after they got the criticism. I mean, they leaned into it.

Speaker 96505.1s - 6530.16s

Well, why wouldn't you? Of course. You have people watching games that had never watched games before. Every sport should be so lucky to have somebody that status. And look, and the NFL ORG, you know, their ratings kings anyway. But to get a bunch of folks who don't watch the NFL suddenly activated for a Sunday afternoontilt in early November. Come on, sign me up, right?

Speaker 56530.56s - 6554.82s

Oh, no, no, no. I understand it. But for the actual sports fan, you were against it. They were, they were the super villains. Hey, we talked about it. Hey, we talked about Brony PERSON earlier. You know what? Stunk for Brony PERSON? As soon as Brony and Brony is one of the greatest kids ever, but when his dad, his LeBron, his dad shows up to the game, I mean, Brody PERSON became somewhat of a villain.

Speaker 96555.12s - 6566.56s

You know, like, why does he get this? Just a hate. Yeah, but dad also saying that he should be playing heavy rotation minutes for the Lakers and calling out his teammates during the year.

Speaker 36566.78s - 6568.12s

Probably didn't help that either.

Speaker 56568.44s - 6572.22s

When you're in a position of greatness, you have to deal with that.

Speaker 36572.48s - 6576.14s

And I think it's more so obviously two different situations.

Speaker 56576.32s - 6579.92s

Ronnie PERSON just, it's always tough to be, you know, the son of a great.

Speaker 36579.92s - 6580.76s

And Brian is one of the great.

Speaker 56580.88s - 6638.9s

It's just an amazing kid, man. And I hate that he has to go through that. But for, for Mahomes PERSON, yeah, they've won. And you know what? Mahomes, he does it his way. It's not the same expectation of a lot of other people. He just goes and wins. He's a good guy. I'm not going to say he's got the Russell Wilson PERSON treatment. It's different, but he's he's standard. He's manila. There's not a lot of spice there. He's just a good guy. He just does what he's supposed to do. Sometimes people don't appreciate someone who does what they're supposed to do. Now, Tom Brady PERSON and them, don't get me wrong. To me, Tom Brady PERSON, the spy gate, all the controversy to them winning and some would say cheating.I'm not going to do that. That's for you to say, okay, I don't know enough information. But for my homes, I think the big turning point was the Taylor Swifting PERSON. I'm going to pin it on Taylor Swift PERSON. That's why his team became very unlikable. Certainly doesn't hurt.

Speaker 96639.38s - 6679.6s

Why didn't she choose our team? Choose a guy on our team and give us the clicks. And yes, the cutaways were there. But again, as Kevin Durant PERSON once famously said, you don't like it, don't watch. Move on. With my homes, at least to this point, seems a little bit goofy, but it hasn't crossed into the Russell Wilson, quote, phony area. And as for the Bronny PERSON, you know, you feel bad for him. It's gotten them a lot ofpositives I think if folks anonymous folks on social media are getting after him a little bit I think you can think of a lot worse things than what's beenbestowed upon him given the surname yeah no I

Speaker 56679.6s - 6700.62s

and I'm in with that and I think you know you hit it right on the head this is a little different but I think I guess in all fairness the more we think, you know, you hit it right on the head. This is a little different. But I think, I guess in all fairness, the more we think about it, I think we, unfortunately, we put this on Taylor Swift PERSON and her popularity and going, you know, what does this have to do with football, you know? And I don't want to see her in another cutaway again, you know, that that's where we'll lean into it with this one.

Speaker 96700.74s - 6731.38s

Fair enough. You know, I would have leaned into a, hey, like the NBA ORG does now, because you know with most games, if you go, at least on my YouTube ORG TV, no ad, I pay for my subscription. I go to pick up a game. It's like, hey, would you like to watch here, or would you like to watch the Betcast on True TV? If I were the NFL, I would have had the Taylor Cam PERSON, worked out a deal with her to where if that's all you wanted to watch for three hours, you would get reactions of her and Blake livelyand her cast of characters. You had to pay her a lot of money now.

Speaker 56731.68s - 6734.1s

Now we're talking a whole different conversation.

Speaker 96734.1s - 6738.84s

Now if you're going to have been worth it. Live on pay-per-view. Come on now.

Speaker 56741s - 6750.18s

Listen, I'm with it. Listen, hey, I think that every sports team should have a celebrity mascot would be wrong.

Speaker 96750.26s - 6751.26s

I don't think that would be a good word.

Speaker 56751.56s - 6754.12s

You might have angered the swifties.

Speaker 96754.36s - 6755.52s

I don't want to say it.

Speaker 56755.52s - 6762.3s

A celebrity, you know, a face, a celebrity face.

Speaker 96762.44s - 6767.26s

Let me ask you that. So let's go through that, right? New York GPE, you got all these guys up front, right?

Speaker 56767.32s - 6787.78s

You saw Tracy Morgan flipping guys off, Jalen Brunson PERSON. You've got Ben Stiller with not quite Zoolander PERSON face and everybody else getting after it. Like the luminaries in New York GPE. For Philadelphia ORG, they were so low in terms of celebrities, they had to go to Big Dom PERSON as one of their top celebrities.Do you know who Big Dom PERSON is?

Speaker 96787.88s - 6794.22s

Who's Big Dom PERSON? Security guy and sideline guy for the Eagles ORG. Oh, wow.

Speaker 56794.52s - 6797.36s

Yeah, that's how fast they got down their celebrity status.

Speaker 96797.44s - 6799.28s

You know what Philly GPE did a good job of, though?

Speaker 56799.32s - 6806.08s

They brought back their former players. Alan Iverson's kind of the guy. Would you count Alan Iverson? Do you feel like a former player doesn't count? Yeah, but former players. Alan Iverson's kind of the guy. Would you count Alan Iverson?

Speaker 96806.2s - 6821.56s

Do you feel like a former player doesn't count? Yeah, but former players generally don't count. And by the way, anybody you ever wore a Nick PERSON's uniform is under one of those baskets at this point. There's a whole role of guys celebrating every made bucket. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 56821.76s - 6826.36s

Nick did a good job there, but you want a Taylor Swift PERSON-esque.

Speaker 96826.64s - 6833.76s

Well, but like the former players I expect to be around, it's when you get the added bonus of, like the San Diego Padres ORG. There's Emma Stone PERSON.

Speaker 56834.72s - 6836.5s

Okay, well, maybe the person.

Speaker 96836.5s - 6839.32s

Kind of a big deal and part of the, uh, Swifty PERSON entourage there.

Speaker 56839.32s - 6852.02s

Maybe whoever the person is, they have to have like a, I guess, a relationship with the player, I guess. You know? Yeah, maybe. I don't know.

Speaker 96852.08s - 6853.86s

We're starting to get down the wags commentary.

Speaker 56853.96s - 6855.58s

I'm trying not to go there. I don't want to go there. No, no.

Speaker 36855.68s - 6857.28s

You're taking it down a deep dark path.

Speaker 96857.88s - 6859.4s

Look what you did, Ryan Hollins PERSON.

Speaker 56859.7s - 6862.18s

You want them to show up every game.

Speaker 96862.5s - 6864.04s

And it's like, why would you show

Speaker 56864.04s - 6870.96s

up every game? And if they're a big enough name, you know, you're not going to have enough money to keep them up every game and it's like why would you show up every game and if they're a big enough name you know you're not going to have enough money to keep them there every game you know

Speaker 96870.96s - 6875.44s

well football wise you can make it work you got eight home games

Speaker 56875.44s - 6886.9s

yeah and then you know it's not enough money let's say her and Kelsey PERSON their relationship changes okay as life happens she may not want to be there dude she may not want to be there, dude. She may not want to be there.

Speaker 96887.6s - 6889.62s

You really took this in a whole other direction.

Speaker 36890.06s - 6893.3s

You wanted the truth. I'm giving you the truth. You want to know why not?

Speaker 96893.3s - 6897.88s

You just hated Taylor Swift PERSON. Yeah, listen.

Speaker 56898.18s - 6903.78s

Which, I mean, right now would be akin to saying, you know, you dislike Arby's ORG sandwiches

Speaker 96903.78s - 6908.12s

for breakfast. See what I did there? You pull it all together. Arby's ORG. I think you're going dislike Arby's sandwiches for breakfast. See what I did there? You pull it all together. Arby's ORG.

Speaker 56908.52s - 6909.96s

I think you're going to Arby's ORG for

Speaker 96909.96s - 6912.06s

breakfast. No, no, I got to go pick up my

Speaker 56912.06s - 6919.94s

kid and drive 80 miles for soccer. Within the week, you will go to Arby's ORG for breakfast and you will shoot out a nice little tweet of your Arby's ORG breakfast

Speaker 96919.94s - 6922.06s

and we'll... You never can tell. Yeah, we will

Speaker 56922.06s - 6923.72s

do this. We may have to do a review.

Speaker 96923.94s - 6945.24s

Again, not a sponsor. Just a discussion point on the highways and byways of life. All Yeah, we will do this. We may have to do a review. Again, not a sponsor. Just a discussion point on the highways and byways of life. All right, we got a tale from Churchill Downs from yesterday that I got to hear your opinion on. And we have to circle back to the clippers and the mess that is there for Steve Ballmer. But first, let's turn it over to our guy, Isaac Lowengron PERSON, with an update of everything going on in our sporting universe.

Speaker 146945.34s - 6949.34s

I've actually also got a tale of Churchill Downs FAC as well.

Speaker 96949.34s - 7093.52s

Let's go. We start with the first round of the NBA ORG playoffs. It concludes today in Cleveland, game seven between the Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic ORG. Tip off about an hour and a half from now. Now, Cleveland's Jared Allen PERSON officially listed as questionable due to a right-rib contusion. Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickers staff was just asked moments ago if Alan PERSON willplay and replied, we'll see. In game one of the Western Conference semifinals on Saturday night, the Minnesota Timberwolves, what at Denver, 106 to 99, Anthony Edwards, a playoff career high, 43 points. And the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday night, the Boston Bruins won game seven of their opening round series over the Toronto Maple Leafs and overtime 2 to 1. Boston's David Posternak PERSON, the series winner,a minute and 54 seconds into OT. Baseball Saturday night saw the Dodgers ORG Max Muncie hit three home runs and an 11 to 2 win over Atlanta ORG. The San Diego Padres won at Arizona 13 to 1 as Luis Arise went four for six. It is San Diego GPE debut. Earlier Saturday, Mystic Dan won the 150th Kentucky Derby in a photo finish over Sierra Leone GPE.The drama of the photo finish capsulated by a young woman named Hannah PERSON, who tweeted this morning, and I, quote, called my parents to tell them about my first Kentucky Derby EVENT experience, and the first thing they asked me is if I saw Travis Kelsey PERSON, unquote. There you go, see? Mike and Ryan PERSON, back to you. It all comes together. You got to talk a guy that had to have a full-on entourage and security and everything. Boy, life much different. You're to talk a guy that had to have a full-on entourage and security and everything. Boy, life much different. You're a Super Bowl EVENT champion? Yeah, you can walk about freelyin that environment. Taylor Swift PERSON relationship? Next level stuff. Although I still have people in my timeline that are like, boy, they really have gone to the ends about this fake relationship. And I'll leave that there for the blogs. Shortly after the show, the podcast goes up, if you missed any of today's show, be sure to check it out. Search Fox Sports Radio ORG, wherever you get your podcast.Be sure to follow, rate, and review the podcast. Search Fox Sports Radio ORG. Wherever you get your audio, you'll see this show posted Fox Sports Sunday, Hollins, Ann Harmon PERSON, right after we get off the air. All right, the Clippers ORG, how do you fix it? What happens? What is Ty Lou working with next year? Who's coming back? Who vacates the premises as they go into a new building?

Speaker 57100.34s - 7166.12s

Well, you've got to sacrifice someone for an asset or assets. So I don't know if it's a sign and trade opportunity. I'm not sure how you go about it. But you have to go out and you have to find a way to get someone that can actually kind of, you got to get younger. You know, you got to get some young blood in there.Because the thing is, younger players are typically more healthy and the struggle is health and you have to have a future to look forward to because you know hey all of the stars with the clippers they're on their back end so you're going to have to I don't know if it's it's hard and I don't know if it's even possible with Kauai PERSON or it's it's Paul George but one of those guys you got to kind of sacrifice to get younger I don't know if it's even possible with Kauai or it's it's Paul George PERSON. But one of those guys, you've got to kind of sacrifice to get younger. I don't think you're in a position where you want to just wash yourself, wash your hands of all of them. But I think that could be a big factor if somehow you can get younger and obviously holding on to the,you know, Terrence PERSON man and guys like that. But I think you really have to find a way to get younger.

Speaker 97166.72s - 7193.98s

Yeah, right, as we look at it in the moment, both Hardin and George, both 34 years old, Kauai Leonard at 32. I mean, nobody's trading for that contract at this point, given the injury history that he's got. And you just signed him, right? He was the guy that you decided, right, we're going to build and then he's unavailable once again when you need him. You know, it's two seasons, right?

Speaker 07194.06s - 7223.7s

And the NBA regular season, you can be, look, in the Western Conference, obviously much tougher sledding in those back seeds, as we saw a lot of the big superstars in the play in tournament but you have moreroom for error to be able to maybe sit a game or two or get your load management I hate that term but for the purposes of the conversation we'll use it here to try to make yourself availableto the playoffs but as we know there's no guarantee that that's the case so now you're

Speaker 97223.7s - 7233.9s

building and trying to rebuild on faulty architecture, as it were. Yeah, but again, the answer, I don't think

Speaker 57233.9s - 7268.88s

you just clean house of all of them. I think you're going into a new stadium. I don't think it works. And here's the tough thing. I mean, Jason talked about this Friday. Paul George PERSON is by far your best asset. That's the best asset, and you hadn't signed him back. So maybe there's a sign-and-trade opportunity or something there. I don't think you'd want to see Paul George PERSON go, but you maybe try to see something, I guess, come backthat definitely has a huge value there. You know, so I think he is the asset, but he's the one you wouldn't want to let go, but that's the one that you can maybe look forward to.

Speaker 97268.88s - 7269.68s

He's the only guy you're getting enough for.

Speaker 57270.48s - 7272.62s

Yeah, he's the one that you get the value for.

Speaker 97272.62s - 7279.02s

Getting actual value and assets, be it a player, be it, you know, that plus draft picks

Speaker 37279.02s - 7286.88s

or whatever you're looking for there. I mean, you're looking at a player option of about 49 million MONEY for this coming

Speaker 97286.88s - 7293.76s

year, which, I don't know, does it even pick up the option? You can go sign and deal somewhere

Speaker 57293.76s - 7299.72s

else and just leave altogether. Because this is where you get into your sign and trade,

Speaker 37299.72s - 7305.82s

kind of discussion. It's just really hard to see, you know, see the clippers moving on from Paul George PERSON.

Speaker 97305.94s - 7307.94s

I think they write it out.

Speaker 57308.02s - 7313.14s

I don't think there's a situation where they just let them walk by any measure.

Speaker 37313.14s - 7316.04s

But, you know, and then what guy is out there.

Speaker 57316.18s - 7342.06s

And here's the tough thing right now in the NBA ORG. There are so many teams that are good. So from another team standpoint, they're like, why would we move on? There's nothing for us to move on to. We're going to hold put. We like what we have. There's not a lot of teams just out there looking to get better or to improve. So in terms of Paul George PERSON, it's like, well, why will we get rid of them?

Speaker 97342.22s - 7343.64s

Well, but that's the reality, though, right?

Speaker 57343.7s - 7346.66s

What do we need to move? No, we don't have anything that we want to move.

Speaker 97347.38s - 7372.08s

Right. And not to disrespect the career of Paul George. He's a 19, well, he's a 19-5 a game in the postseason. We've seen some great moments. And I don't mean to diminish him as a player. But the idea that he's your best asset, that really isn't saying much. One guy can't play, and we've watched James Hardin in big moments for years. Paul George PERSON is right there with him.

Speaker 37372.74s - 7382.86s

Yeah, yeah. The consistency's not there. I don't think that... Consistency isn't there. So why am I going to gut and change up my rotation and chemistryto bring him in?

Speaker 57383.24s - 7426.44s

Well, if you're another team, you're not looking at Paul George PERSON as a guy. You're looking at him as a second or third option. And a lot of teams may feel like, hey, we'll take that. We need that. We are that one piece away. So I think for another team, that's the real appeal of Paul George PERSON.I definitely think he's a second or third option there. There's no question there. He can play that role. So I think that's a second or third option there. There's no question there. He can play that role. So I think that's more so what you would look for from Paul PERSON. And, you know, you're not, you know, I don't think you'regoing, you know, too crazy about it with that. And he's beyond great, you know, in that role. So I don't know. Honestly, the Clippers ORG' best option right now may just be to stay put, you know,

Speaker 07426.44s - 7440.06s

or maybe make some small moves for maybe a second round pick. Maybe they sneak into the draft somewhere. But, you know, I'm not in love with getting rid of Paul George PERSON at all. I don't, I personally don't think that is the move.

Speaker 97440.5s - 7485.16s

Well, and that's the thing. It's like, well, you know, all these thought pieces of is Russell Westper PERSON going to leave down? Like, you're shrugging. Like, this is the thing that's going to put them's the thing. It's like, well, you know, all these thought pieces of is Russell Westbrook PERSON going to leave town? Like, you're shrugging. Like, this is the thing that's going to put him over the top. This guy's exit, whatever. It's a mess for Steve Ballmer PERSON.But he will have a new state-of-the-art facility, insert requisite toilet joke capacity and hot dog gun here. He's Ryan Hollins PERSON. I'm Mike Harmon PERSON. Fox Sports Radio's Fox Sports Sunday ORG. And coming up next, we all have those early jobs that may have molded us. One guy had a reallyinteresting response at Churchill Downs FAC about the most stressful job, an impactful job he's ever had. We'll do that next.

Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Major League Baseball Action ORG, everything going around the latest in the sporting universe. Mike Harmon alongside, my guy Ryan Hollins, find him at the Ryan Hollins ORG, 10 years in the NBA, working with the Houston Rockets ORG.I'm sure he's got plenty of Ask Me Anythings WORK_OF_ART on his social media, including breakfast foods. You've got to listen to the whole show. Go find the podcast. It'll be up in about 15, 20 minutes time, wherever you get your audio, Fox Sports Sunday ORG, Hollins, and Harmon PERSON.Now, Ryan PERSON, you're a man hustling in the NBA and in the post-NBA ORG world, the media mogul that you are. And you love the art of interviews and the conversations like we have here for our three hours. This is one of my favorites watching the Kentucky Derby EVENT pre- I wouldn't call a pre-show because there were races going on, but you know, you start interviewing all the luminaries. Isaac got the line in about Travis Kelsey PERSON. JasonGarrett was on the dais and you know passing by answering questions and he gave an answer that I think we'll get dissected as the week goes on. You know I grew grew up in a town called Monmouth Beach, and it's about three miles from Monmouth Park FAC,

Speaker 307669.78s - 7712.76s

the great racetrack there. And one summer, I was a paramutual until this day, by far, the most high-pressure job I've ever had, right? I mean, there's all that time between the races, but nobody shows up in your window until like a minute before, and then there's 50 guys in your line screaming at you but great experience absolutely incredible day here this is really fun to be here how much how much did you learn from those days of being a mammoth park as a young man you know i don't think i learned a whole lot i've always loved horses just seeing them being in theenvironment you know i used to always bet on like this long shot at the end of the day and it never came home for me but it's uh it's incredible it's at the end of the day and it never came home for me. But it's incredible. It's such a nice environment to be and it's fun. Everybody's got their hats on. This is really a great day.

Speaker 97713.24s - 7780.52s

So there you go. Got to the hats, got to the pageantry, talking about betting on long shots. But the key, the money quote, talking about pressure. And this was a guy that coached the Dallas Cowboys ORG. We talked about the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James PERSON, and the magnifying glass.Jerry Jones PERSON certainly brings the spotlight with his weekly visits to the fan there in Dallas. So to say that being a teller for parimutual wagering was the most pressure he had, I kind of did that. Having spent many a night hanging around racetracks and watching how that works, I got 15 minutes till post, no action, maybe someone cashing a ticket. As soon as they say, hey, there's two minutes, two minutes. All of a sudden, the line starts to form, and you got to make sure those tickets are right. Yeah, a lot of potential for chaos so shout out monmouth park and and those and those first jobs that teach you the skills that you need to definitely work through information yeah no look man so sometimes you know

Speaker 57780.52s - 7810.62s

it's funny when you've done something for so long, you feel pressure in other places, you know, like, here's the thing. Like, I love playing flag football. And the times that I go out and play flag football, it's a different type of pressure, you know. And it's kind of like you just want to, you just want to try something different, you know, and you can feel the anxiety, you know, there's a, there's just a deal when you're trying something new. You're trying something different. So I get it.I understand it.

Speaker 97810.94s - 7818.82s

I'm immediately starting to think of how I'd use you in the red zone, get you towards the edges. I now have an extra six yards QUANTITY that I can throw the ball out of bounds.

Speaker 57819.34s - 7830.32s

Yeah, but there's, if I drop a pass, I feel pressure. But, you know, you think, hey, I've kind of lived under pressure that shouldn't be a thing, but it's a thing. I just think it's funny, right,

Speaker 97830.32s - 7855.7s

saying this was the pressure and the guy that was in the spot that is the pressure cooker as the quarterback as the coach. But again, as we talked about, you come like Darwin Ham PERSON to some of these organizations. You recognize what you're walking into. And the opportunity that is there if you win, but certainly as you lose, the slings and arrows will mount up very fast.

Speaker 57857.98s - 7871.34s

Yeah, and that's honestly with anything. So, I mean, you get it. You got to embrace it. And, hey, that's why you get paid the big bucks. And, you know, unfortunately, we like to call them what, Mike, you say it a lot. Rich people problems. So no one's going to unfortunately feel sorry.

Speaker 97871.46s - 7873.16s

First world problems, no question about it.

Speaker 57873.24s - 7873.66s

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 97873.7s - 7900.44s

No one's going to feel sorry for Darwin PERSON or a couple of those guys. And he's going to be fine, man. And I think just when I hear fans speak about Darvin Ham PERSON, for me, hold respect, have respect. Keep it in context, keep it to the sport. You don't have to like the guy or agree. Look at you, trying to be all positive. But I now add paramutual teller to one of the list of jobs I may have before I'm done. Martin, Kerry, coming up next here on Fox ORG. Hi, this is Wilfredel PERSON.
