my friend tony dunn listen man it's a tuesday night you know there's no i'd rather be on a tuesday than sitting here with my boys talking panther football tony done before the draft you and i had an argument as to when the worst time of the season is you said it was right around that time i'm saying this one dude there's nothing going on we have to fill a ton of the season is. You said it was right around that time. I'm saying it's this one, dude. There's nothing going on. We have to fill a ton of show tonight, but it is always made so effortlessly easyby the joining of the best damn Panther ORG fans in all of YouTube, Tonya, Dunn PERSON. They make it easy. You know I'm and love them. We got our boy, Panther, Pickle, Pinkle PERSON, what's up?Joey the Blind Panther PERSON, Escobel PERSON, what's up, dude? Brandon Malone PERSON. Our boy, Anthony PERSON in the building. What's up? Diesel skills, the brand ambassadorin the building. Daniel Barry Sports ORG highlights. KG 73s PRODUCT, Mussey Man 7-8 News ORG, muscles marinera, Pisdon ORG, Rare Camera 99 PRODUCT,side show, Tim Estes PERSON, Niners ORG podcast, Tony Don PERSON, and nothing to it but to do it, brother.Let's roll.

Speaker 8161.48s - 187.08s

We take no weeks off, and neither do you, if you're listening. The number's 252,228, 5098. You can be part of the conversation. What do you think about this new running back signing a little hammer to go withsome of that, or thunder with some of that lightning maybe, you know, maybe a little strong goal line back potentially that could help this team going forward? Who do you think is really going to be on the bubble?

Speaker 9187.98s - 197.24s

Players like Amari Barno, are these guys going to make this team surviving a third regime?

Speaker 8198.04s - 220s

We'd love to hear from that, from you with that, but we need your help in the offseason. Like Cody said, it is the starving time. It's the dying time for this podcast. We've been in our, we're in our 11th year right now. We need you to sub up, subscribe, smash the thumbs up,like, retweet, wherever you're at, and welcome in the voice. That makes them voice. Code Dizzle Allen PERSON. What's up, my friend?

Speaker 5220.7s - 271.18s

Man, just happy to be here talking about the Panthers ORG, yet again with nothing to talk about except for a little couple of pieces here. But yeah, Cody's 100% right. This is the death season. This is the best.Like you really don't have any ability to talk about anything. There's not anything of real note that's going to be taking place over the next few weeks. You know, really a couple of months, to be honest with you. I know we've got a, I think we've got a schedule for the off-season program that we can always run down and whatnot, but we're still all waiting for that training camp schedule. And then I think they said they're releasing the schedule for the NFL ORG season in the coming week or two. So that's something to look forward to, I suppose, but still not super great to be a podcaster in this time of the season.

Speaker 8272.02s - 362.7s

Yeah, I mean, I guess the only difference is when you get that schedule now, we'll be like, can we win this game? Can we win that game? Can we win this game? And guess what is no one knows. I did want to mention this, that the hurricanes are leading right now.3-2, end of the second period. The hurricanes were beaten in game one by the New York Rangers ORG. Tough draw for the canes. The number two seed in the Eastern Conference draws the number one seed, though, in the second round of the playoffsbecause they're in the same division. That sucks. That sucks. When you are the number two seed, you win in round one and then you got to go play the best team in the league. Stinks.Hockey's got to do something about the way that playoff seating is done. And speaking of playoff seeding, don't they reseed the NFL ORG playoffs now to where, am I making that up? I think they do. It's like if when like a team, say a wild card team, then that wild card team has to play, the worst team has to play the first seed, the best team. I think they reseed the playoffs in NFL ORG now, which if they do, I think that's a great thing,is that that's why the regular season matters to get those advantages down the stretch.

Speaker 9363.56s - 366.3s

The number's 252-228-58.

Speaker 8366.44s - 421.28s

Let's jump into the show, Cody, Lack PERSON. The Carolina Panthers are committed to pounding the rock. Dave Canales PERSON said he would be stubborn about it. And really, to be honest, this isn't surprising to me, given his offensive system, which is stretch the field, an air coriel type descendant, right,as he comes from a Schoenheimer PERSON scheme. Very Mike Shula PERSON-esque, if you guys remember. I know you guys are going to love a lot of you weren't fans of Mike Shula PERSON, but Mike Shula PERSON would run, run, and take deep shots. And that's what Dave Canales did last year, stayed with the run despite some of the struggles early on in the season. And it was nice to have Mike Evans PERSON down the field. The Carolina Panthers have signed a running back that Dave Canales has worked with in Rashad Penny PERSON. What's the news on this?

Speaker 3421.9s - 431.2s

Well, Tony, Rashad Penny is another example of the Panthers bringing in someone who has a history with Dave Canales PERSON.

Speaker 8431.84s - 439.88s

The Carolina Panthers made an addition to their running back depth by signing Rashad Penny 28-year-old,

Speaker 3440.26s - 446.62s

former first round pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2018, the 5'11-220 pounder,

Speaker 0446.98s - 481.44s

spent the last year at Philadelphia, appearing in only three games. So that's the knock on. He's dealt with a lot of injuries. But he ran for 749 yards and six touchdowns in 2021 in Seattle ORG with Dave Canales and had 1,951 yards and 13 touchdowns in 45 career games. He's dealt with injuries in the past, including a torn ACL.But get this, he has a 5.6 yards per carry average when he has played. That's ridiculous.

Speaker 8482.04s - 508.66s

He was good, man. When he came into the league as a rookie, like they really got him going early. He's a north-south runner, which I like, it works in the NFL ORG,is that a guy that's just going to hit the hole and go and maybe not make any moves to break the big one, but he's going to hit you at three yards and take you two more to get to that five-yard average.

Speaker 3510.68s - 518.1s

Yeah, I actually have some clips of our boy. Let's get demonetized.

Speaker 8518.18s - 518.66s

Here we go.

Speaker 3518.76s - 522.92s

No, there's another. They don't hit this for the NFL ORG all 22.

Speaker 8524.56s - 534.26s

You know, I was thinking about this is when we have the NFL ORG draft party. Have they licensed? You know how they license the word Super Bowl EVENT? Right.

Speaker 0534.34s - 537.22s

So you can't, like, if you're a bar, you can't have a Super Bowl EVENT party.

Speaker 9537.32s - 539.08s

You have to have like the big game party.

Speaker 0539.54s - 543.62s

All right. Let's see. This is Rashad Penny PERSON. Is that Russell PERSON?

Speaker 3543.74s - 562.98s

That's Russell PERSON. He's sort of like to him, man. He's sort of like a slalom skier kind of. He sort of just narrowly kind of slips and glides past you. He's strong too and he can cut. But you're right. He needs to get ahead of speed. But once he does, he's a home run hitter. And you see it right there.

Speaker 8563.52s - 575.18s

Well, I wouldn't say a home run hitter is I think he's a physical back. You know what I'm saying? Is that that that's what you have to do. Look, is what I that that's not home run. That's just next level, right? Is that instead of waiting and dancing.

Speaker 3575.18s - 578.04s

He's not slow. Man is running away from dudes.

Speaker 8578.22s - 580.46s

What was his? Let's see what his 40.

Speaker 3580.46s - 591.68s

And I remember the Panthers ORG were actually interested in him when he was coming out. I remember because on, on his draft night, the Panthers ORG were actually interested in him when he was coming out. I remember because on his draft night, the Panthers were one of the hats that he had available.

Speaker 8592.06s - 594.96s

He had a 4-4-6. Yeah.

Speaker 3595.06s - 596.38s

He's not slow, man.

Speaker 8598.18s - 602.9s

You know, but here are we seeing, what does this mean to the running back room, guys?

Speaker 3602.9s - 607.08s

C.K. is like Miles Sanders was brought in last year under the old regime.

Speaker 8607.48s - 646.12s

Signed a notable contract, not a giant one, but $25 million, I think, and a lot of it was kind of guaranteed. My friend, Clip Brock on Pirate Radio ORG, described him as a jag, just another guy. I was hoping that he was going to be able to do something. We were hoping a lot of things last year that did not come into effect at all. In fact, it was the exact opposite. But yeah, Chuba Hubbard, who has had his best season last year, how does this room work out? Because we just drafted, what's the guy's name, Jordan PERSON? Jonathan Brooks PERSON. Jonathan Brooks, who a lot of, what's the guy's name, Jordan? Jonathan Brooks.

Speaker 3646.18s - 650.64s

Jonathan Brooks PERSON, who, a lot of, who is the home run hitter.

Speaker 0650.72s - 650.86s

Right.

Speaker 3650.96s - 654.92s

Who is that, you know, it's like, how do these guys compliment them?

Speaker 8654.96s - 659.16s

And what does this mean for the rest of the room, ZK PERSON? And, yeah, Chuba and Miles PERSON too.

Speaker 5660.28s - 672.26s

I think it means a couple of things. Number one, I think it could mean that Brooks PERSON is going to start out on the physically unable to perform list. The Pupplest for those who don't know what that means.

Speaker 7672.58s - 676.5s

So that could be what it is.

Speaker 5677.7s - 697.06s

I think this doesn't bode well for Miles Sanders PERSON. I'll tell you that much, especially when you realize that last year, Chuba PERSON and Blackshare PRODUCT were both better running backs. We may be eating that contract. Now, this could be a play to try to get some assets for Chuba Hubbard PERSON, because I could see this being trade-based.

Speaker 8697.06s - 703.66s

I can't see anybody actually trading for Chuba Hubbard, except for a Panthers ORG fan, right? And, like,

Speaker 3703.66s - 709.46s

is not that, again, you know, I'm a certified Chuba Hubbard hater, right?

Speaker 8709.54s - 711.58s

So I will put that disclaimer out here.

Speaker 3711.68s - 713.04s

Better than Cameron PERSON. I was paying.

Speaker 8713.6s - 716.98s

Not true at all, but, um, not true at all.

Speaker 3717.64s - 724.04s

But that I think that the love, like the love, I don't think the love outside the

Speaker 8724.04s - 725.28s

league is there for Chuba PERSON.

Speaker 9725.28s - 730.38s

Like, you know, like, really, what would, you would always just let them get cut and then sign them.

Speaker 0731.82s - 736.22s

Yeah, I mean, maybe you trade Miles Sanders for a six or something like that.

Speaker 8736.64s - 739.6s

So, look, let me add some context to it.

Speaker 9739.68s - 743.32s

This was from NFL.com writing about the Panthers ORG.

Speaker 8744.44s - 745.48s

Nope, wrong one.

Speaker 3745.58s - 756.12s

Let me go one to the right. Damn, I know I added it. Did I go too far? Nope. Hang on, wait. Did you do your race it, Tony PERSON?

Speaker 8756.24s - 756.86s

No, I didn't.

Speaker 3756.86s - 757.48s

No, I dare it.

Speaker 8757.48s - 757.96s

There's my bad.

Speaker 3758.36s - 759.24s

You can be blaming you.

Speaker 8759.32s - 761.18s

You sound like my wife.

Speaker 3763.38s - 765.38s

Man, damn, everything is in my way.

Speaker 8766.2s - 767s

You made it read it.

Speaker 3767s - 767.72s

You made a reason.

Speaker 8767.72s - 767.92s

No,

Speaker 3768.04s - 795.92s

Miles Sanders PERSON, Super Hubbard are still on the roster, but the Panthers drafted. Jonathan Brooksin the second round of the 2,024 draft. Hubbard PERSON led the Panthers with 902 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 3.8 yards per carry.Standards, on the other hand, just had 432 yards rushing and a touchdown, averaging only 3.3 yards per carry. Penae has a issue with head coach Dave Canales PERSON,

Speaker 0796.42s - 844.86s

as he was on the offensive coaching staff when Penae was in Seattle ORG. They're still familiarity with how the offense ran, which plays to Pena PERSON's strengths. Now, they're going to talk about Sanders PERSON. The Panthers may just cut their losses with the 27-year-old Sanders PERSON, who still has three years remaining on this deal.Sanders could be designated to oppose the June 1st cut, which Carolina would $7 million in debt cap space spread out over the next two years while saving $200,000 for 2024, Carolina could just wait a year until moving on from Sanders, saving a $5 million. And another point is, right now, Miles PERSON really has nothing to lose no matter what they do. Contract is the biggest out of your room right now.

Speaker 9845.44s - 847.9s

You almost want to get cut, take the money,

Speaker 8848s - 916.56s

and go sign another small deal somewhere, make an extra million. The one thing, though, is that financially, it doesn't feel like it makes sense to release Miles Sanders PERSON. Even trading him doesn't bring the financial gains. But we saw when the Panthers cut bait with Hayden Hurst PERSON that the immediate financial might not always be the only driving factor in how you develop a plan, a room, or what's going forward. And right now it's like, how do you make these four backs work together? And are you really going to carry four backs throughout the season when none of these guys are special teams dudes? You know, like you could bring somebody brought up Blackshare PRODUCT earlier, but Blackshare could do kickoffs and stuff like that. I don't know. Maybe Chuba Hubbard PERSON can. I haven't seen Miles Sanders do anything like that i i don't know maybe chuba hubbard care i haven't seen milessanders do anything like that so at what route what point does the room just become too crowded and the money doesn't matter anymore yeah i mean i think that's definitely a good question too

Speaker 3916.56s - 927.82s

and also again it's it's so cliche when you hear about oh we're going to have competition at every spot but tony i really think that they mean it. They want competition.

Speaker 8927.82s - 929.08s

We said this every.

Speaker 3929.34s - 944.42s

I don't believe. There is no competition. You add, you add Blackshare PRODUCT on top of it, who we haven't even really named yet, and who are a lot of fans like. But then you add Rashad, or Rashad Penny PERSON, who does have that home run hitting ability.

Speaker 8944.58s - 945.9s

I think he's a power back. I think we were missing the power run hitting ability. I think he's a power back.

Speaker 3946.3s - 948.14s

I think we were missing the power back

Speaker 8948.14s - 954.84s

though. I think he's a power back. Like I think you would put him in short goal situations over Truba Hubbard PERSON.

Speaker 3956.06s - 958.12s

I don't know. I mean, I think they're the same type

Speaker 8958.12s - 978.1s

of back. I think they're a downhill thump. Yeah. They're the same like type of running. And by the way, I think Chuba PERSON is also shifter than he gets credit for. I mean, he is that downhill thumper. You want to send him through the A and B gap. But I mean, dude, why do you like to shit on Chuba PERSON so much?

Speaker 9978.1s - 985.3s

Dude, he's a damn good player. He's 6-1-2-10. He's 6.1.2.10.

Speaker 8985.7s - 987.16s

That is Roshad Penn PERSON.

Speaker 9987.16s - 990.16s

2 inches shorter and 10 pounds

Speaker 8990.16s - 990.52s

heavier.

Speaker 3991.44s - 991.64s

Yeah.

Speaker 8992.2s - 994.04s

I feel like Cuba GPE's kind of lean.

Speaker 0994.3s - 994.64s

You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 9994.86s - 997.3s

I'm not putting Chuba Hubbard PERSON in a goal line situation.

Speaker 0997.66s - 1000.18s

In fact, we saw this last year, I feel like.

Speaker 91000.3s - 1003s

And putting these guys in the goal line situation could do anything.

Speaker 01003.44s - 1009.08s

And everybody was like, Dante PERSON, we need Dante. We need Dante PERSON for this. Dante Foreman PERSON.

Speaker 81009.88s - 1012.56s

I think Penny is the third down.

Speaker 31013.76s - 1018.6s

Less the running back position and more the O line, not being more shit.

Speaker 81018.6s - 1019.92s

Oh, gosh, whatever.

Speaker 31020.34s - 1024.6s

I mean, look, is Hubbard got his best year last year.

Speaker 81027.14s - 1037.7s

I can't deny that, right? He had 902 yards and five touchdowns on a terrible team. Chuba Hubbard PERSON has made the most out of terrible situations, but he sucked his first two years.

Speaker 31038.58s - 1039.6s

He just stunk. Who gives a shit?

Speaker 81039.76s - 1054.92s

I do. You guys want to cut mango right away. It takes time to get good. What other running back on this roster? Out of all of those guys that we've mentioned, who else do youtrust more with one or two yards on the line?

Speaker 71055.02s - 1055.68s

Rashide, Benny PERSON.

Speaker 81057.12s - 1057.94s

Oh, come on.

Speaker 31057.94s - 1059.54s

Yes. He's had more

Speaker 81059.54s - 1061.8s

he's been more successful

Speaker 31061.8s - 1063.42s

through it. Look, Chuba

Speaker 81063.42s - 1067.8s

average, I don't know why you love Chuba PERSON. You got a Chuba fur Chuba.

Speaker 31068.26s - 1076.48s

No, I mean, you pretend like this trash and he is a damn good dependable running back.

Speaker 81076.48s - 1080s

He's not ever going to get flashy or get the accolades.

Speaker 91080.44s - 1086.6s

But if you have a good old line in front of him, we have shown that he can do damage before.

Speaker 81087.1s - 1090.68s

And any running back in the NFL ORG can do damage with a good running.

Speaker 91091.04s - 1095.4s

But a reason why you hire Ron Rashon PERSON is because you don't know what Jonathan Brooks's

Speaker 81095.4s - 1098.14s

injury is going to look like coming into the season.

Speaker 31098.6s - 1102.56s

And Rashon Penny PERSON has been hurt a ton of times himself.

Speaker 81102.78s - 1108.82s

So it's not like you can even depend on one of those guys over the other right now.

Speaker 91108.86s - 1123.3s

It's really going to be who wins out the competition. And I think that the coaching staff has room to have their mind changed. So if Miles Sanders PERSON comes out and is impressive and looks damn near unstoppable, I think there was one.

Speaker 81123.34s - 1124.6s

Where in training?

Speaker 71124.84s - 1129.2s

K.K. PERSON, where is this real competition at?

Speaker 31129.28s - 1129.82s

Come on.

Speaker 81130.16s - 1130.42s

I mean,

Speaker 51130.42s - 1161.3s

some sense into him as where they do like three reps. I mean, I still think that there's competition in the back end, and then they're going to look at speed. They're going to look and see how these guys work out there. It'd be impossible for them not to look at last year's film and tryto make a judgment based on that, to be honest with you. I think there will be a competition. I don't think there's any doubt about that. It's a competition who's going to be earning a roster spot behindpotentially Brooks being the starting running back.

Speaker 81161.6s - 1233.72s

Now, that is where competition exists in the NFL ORG, and it's a great segue to talk about some players on the bubble. Don't forget we got Ricky Rains coming on in about eight minutes. He'll join this conversation about bubble players, help us revisit the draft and talk about some of these signings in this offseason. You guys get in to the calls.Number's 252-228-5098. Speaking of, this is the only place that competition actually exists, Cody, like, is on the bubble. I'm sorry. The competition is not real in the NFL ORG. The contract and the starters, there's about 35 to 40 players that are making the team right now. There's no dispute. They could trip acid and come to them training camp, and they're still making the team. It's those last 13 spots, 10 spots that the true bubble exists. That is where competition exists. And so let's talk about that bubble here. We might as well start with the running back group as we're talking about it.Is Blackshear on the roster? Yes.

Speaker 31234.06s - 1234.34s

Okay.

Speaker 81234.46s - 1250.94s

So you've got what? We've got Chuba Hubbard PERSON. We've got Rashad Penny PERSON. We've got Miles Sanders PERSON. We've got Blackshear. Out of those guys, who's more on the bubble, Chuba or Miles Sanders PERSON?Hmm.

Speaker 91251.9s - 1254.22s

And maybe is Rashad Penny PERSON on the bubble?

Speaker 81254.82s - 1258.98s

I mean, it's not unheard of to sign a guy to a one-year deal.

Speaker 31258.98s - 1262.38s

Yeah, I mean, just because we signed it to me doesn't guarantee that,

Speaker 91262.38s - 1262.78s

exactly.

Speaker 31262.92s - 1269.44s

Oh, he's a lot to make the roster because he played with Canales PERSON before, whatever it is, you know?

Speaker 81269.5s - 1296.56s

I think he's a complimentary back, though, to like what you have is a duplication of skills. Like you have undersized back in Miles Sanders PERSON, kind of like a pass catching in my mind. Maybe he hasn't been great in his career at those things. But kind of what I would call like a scat back, you've got a, catching in my mind. Maybe he hasn't been great in his career at those things. But kind of what I would call like a scat back, you've got Chuba PERSON who can't catch worth shit and isn't just dominantly big or anything.

Speaker 01296.74s - 1298.94s

So he's just a regular running back.

Speaker 81300.8s - 1313.86s

I think Penny PERSON compliments the new player. So who's on the bubble more so CK. Rashad Penny PERSON, Miles Sanders or Chuba Hubbard PERSON?

Speaker 51314.92s - 1336.58s

I still think it's Miles Sanders PERSON. Yeah, I feel so too. I mean, people are going to say that he's got to stick around because of his contract, but the way I look at it is if he's not, I mean, we're already paying him. So regardless of whether he's on the team or not, I would rather have the better running back and not keep him on the, let a running back go. That's a better option.

Speaker 81336.88s - 1338.46s

The money is a problem, though.

Speaker 51338.72s - 1340.92s

It's a problem, but it's already the problem.

Speaker 81341.72s - 1382.74s

Rare gamer 99 says this. He says, Miles is 27, Chuba's 24. Does that matter? It does. But the problem is this is Chuba PERSON's in a contract year. Right. And what that means is he's not going to be a Carolina Panther next year. This is his final season as a Carolina Panther is like, and I would be willing to bet money on it right now. But that's the thing is that you're right is, yes, Chuba is younger. He is better right now. But you have money invested in Miles Sanders and you don't have a future in Chuba PERSON. And it comes down to how many seats are in the room, Cody, right?I mean, we're talking about the bubble.

Speaker 01382.74s - 1393.4s

We're playing musical chairs. And if there's five running backs which so we got jonathan brooks we've got black shear we've got um chuba we've got

Speaker 31393.4s - 1399.12s

rachshut we have five backs so shout out to uh shout out to panther pickle he showed me this

Speaker 81399.12s - 1405.64s

website that lets you build your own 53 man roster yeah it, it's awesome. So, Tuba Hubbard,

Speaker 31405.74s - 1407.78s

Miles Sanders PERSON, Rehian

Speaker 81407.78s - 1415.38s

Blackshare right now. They haven't yet added Rashad Penny PERSON, but Jonathan Brooks is also

Speaker 31415.38s - 1418.02s

on this list.

Speaker 81418.52s - 1420.7s

Did you see DJ Chark PERSON,

Speaker 91420.94s - 1422.54s

which I didn't know he went to LSU ORG?

Speaker 31424.08s - 1425.92s

You see he's time with your boy.

Speaker 81427.12s - 1427.56s

Who?

Speaker 31427.94s - 1429.32s

Justin Herbert. He's a charger.

Speaker 71430.84s - 1431.5s

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 81432s - 1436.22s

This is a rude-ass tweet, but I laughed at it as they said,

Speaker 31436.28s - 1438.78s

now they're treating Justin Herbert like a black quarterback.

Speaker 81440.28s - 1442.06s

I was like, that's fucked up.

Speaker 91442.38s - 1443.68s

He's Justin Herbert.

Speaker 31443.82s - 1445.2s

Somebody to get the Cam Newton PERSON treatment.

Speaker 81445.74s - 1449.64s

I kind of feel like Josh Allen is, too, to be honest.

Speaker 31450.34s - 1452.38s

And then he's drafted him a big slow.

Speaker 81452.98s - 1454.12s

All right, so who would be,

Speaker 91454.24s - 1457.14s

let's go through you, Cody, and then CK PERSON.

Speaker 31457.26s - 1460.56s

Who are the, who you keep in the running back room?

Speaker 81461.36s - 1465.4s

I mean, I'm keeping four running backs,

Speaker 71465.44s - 1466.9s

one of them being a kick returner,

Speaker 81466.98s - 1468.04s

and that is going to be

Speaker 51468.04s - 1481.32s

Brooks PERSON, Chuba PERSON, Blackshear, Brooks PERSON, Chuba PERSON, Blackshear, and Penny PERSON. I think I'm with you

Speaker 81481.32s - 1486.04s

is I do think Miles Sanders PERSON is going to be the odd man out regardless of the money, just because. And here's what I'll say, too. I think that'm with you is I do think Miles Sanders PERSON is going to be the odd man out regardless of the money.

Speaker 51486.76s - 1492.54s

And here's what I'll say too. I think that he has the potential to go and play a really good football for another team.

Speaker 81493.14s - 1494.36s

Who Sanders PERSON? Yeah.

Speaker 51494.52s - 1495.36s

I mean, I think that.

Speaker 81495.46s - 1498.5s

Maybe not really good football, but have a role in the league.

Speaker 51498.86s - 1499.38s

Yeah, sure.

Speaker 81499.86s - 1506.52s

But my reasoning for that belief is that the dude wasn't garbage until he hit the Panthers ORG roster, right?

Speaker 51506.88s - 1507.74s

That's true.

Speaker 81507.9s - 1508.54s

That's true.

Speaker 51509.3s - 1520.5s

So, I mean, I'm not prepared to write the dude off just simply because of a bad season that was littered with horrible play across the board from our team, you know?

Speaker 81521.2s - 1529.44s

You know, they, but it does give you or some pause or reminder because i was excited

Speaker 51529.44s - 1536.36s

i thought look is i didn't think miles sanders PRODUCT was um going to be great right actually i did think

Speaker 81536.36s - 1539.42s

he was going to be good i thought he was going to get a lot of volume i thought they were going to be

Speaker 91539.42s - 1549.24s

throwing out of the backfield a lot to them i thought he was going to be a cool sleeper mid-round pick in fantasy, which I've learned

Speaker 81549.24s - 1594.12s

that my Panther ORG bias always destroys any fantasy hopes. Like I'm to the point where I just don't, I'm never looking at a Panther ORG player again in fantasy football. But he, but the criticism coming out or when we signed him in the beginning was that he came from the best offensive line in the league. Right. And you had Jalen Hertz running the ball.Like so it's, it's one of those guys. To me, maybe he is just another guy. Maybe he is who I say, and look, I want Trey Boston PERSON to come on this show. Trey Boston PERSON did a lot for the Panthers and I like him as a player. But I feel like a playerlike Trey Boston PERSON looks really good when he's got good players around him.

Speaker 31594.76s - 1597.48s

And when he's got regular players around him,

Speaker 01597.58s - 1599.2s

he looks regular.

Speaker 81599.72s - 1601.42s

And that's what Miles Sanders

Speaker 31601.42s - 1630.78s

looked like last year. This goes down to my core philosophy about running backs. Dude, I don't care that our running back room is a bunch of who's of my fuckens. Like, I don't give a damn. Because if you look at Miles Sanders and what he did last year and you didn't know what he had done the year before, you would never look at Miles Sanders PERSON and say, that's a running back that's capable of a thousand yards per season. It's all about the O line, baby.

Speaker 81630.9s - 1636.42s

It's not all about it. Look, Christian McAfre. No, Christian McAfree would look. No.

Speaker 31636.42s - 1643.34s

McAfree would make a average O line look better. No, too many. He did. He did. He would make more

Speaker 81643.34s - 1650.62s

at a nothing. That the, that the offensive line, if they're able to get going and make lanes, dude,

Speaker 91650.74s - 1654.66s

you don't have to have an early drafted running back.

Speaker 81654.76s - 1657.42s

You can get by with the undrafted free agents.

Speaker 91657.42s - 1661.26s

That can be a thousand-yard rushers and make records in the playoffs.

Speaker 81661.74s - 1663.44s

Like the 49ers ORG running back,

Speaker 71663.54s - 1665.94s

Sam and they do every single year.

Speaker 81666.34s - 1666.86s

Too simple.

Speaker 71666.86s - 1670.48s

You do not need premium talent at the running back position.

Speaker 81670.54s - 1671.16s

Too simple.

Speaker 71671.7s - 1672.18s

Too simple.

Speaker 81672.42s - 1672.82s

And look,

Speaker 71672.82s - 1677.08s

is you're right when you're talking about regular players.

Speaker 81677.24s - 1679.86s

But there are true stars.

Speaker 31680.46s - 1683.12s

There are true transcendent players.

Speaker 71683.12s - 1683.5s

Sure.

Speaker 31683.92s - 1684.94s

So it's like,

Speaker 81685.02s - 1686.54s

so you can't just say,

Speaker 31686.64s - 1687.2s

well,

Speaker 81688.1s - 1689.4s

not like I mean,

Speaker 31689.8s - 1690.88s

these guys change,

Speaker 81690.98s - 1706.02s

there are game changers and they can be at the running back position. Right. So I think you're right in your general logic, but I do think there are players, Adrian Peterson PERSON, Christian McCaffrey PERSON,

Speaker 31706.32s - 1711.78s

Barry Sanders PERSON, that are the elite of the elite and that's different.

Speaker 81711.98s - 1713.9s

But if you compare the other positions

Speaker 91713.9s - 1756.54s

that are the elite of the elite, the wide receivers, the quarterback, the offensive line, it is much more premium to have those types of offensive talents than a premium running back. When somuch of what the running back does depends on those nasty offensive line in your front of them. So if you have a good old line, yeah, I agree with S.K. It's not plausible, or it is plausiblethat Sanders PERSON goes behind a good old line and is able to do some things. That's why you bought that the idea that maybe Miles Sanders PERSON might be able to impress them people this year, you know, given that he has a new offensive line in front of them. And yes, they are going to have some time to evaluate them during training camp.

Speaker 31757.02s - 1767.88s

I know, but it's not a popular opinion. But given how much uncertainty there is, I would not count Miles Sanders PERSON out until he is 100 percent counted out of this equation.

Speaker 81770.52s - 1797.36s

Well, yeah, the money. How about this? Look, Ricky Raines PERSON, I forgot to press enter. I put the link in the direct messages and never hit the click the button. So Ricky Raines PERSON will beon here any second. It's my fault. How about this? Why don't we take a cat call real quick before it gets in? Sure. The number's 252-228-58. We want to hear your thoughts on the bubble on Miles Sanders, on Rashad Penny PERSON, or whatever you want to talk about.

Speaker 51797.88s - 1801.96s

So what are your thoughts on cat calling? Yeah, it's pretty shit. You shouldn't do that to somebody. And how did that make you feel?

Speaker 01802.22s - 1803.16s

Very uncomfortable.

Speaker 51803.58s - 1806.3s

How do you think cat calling makes the person feel?

Speaker 01806.3s - 1826.32s

It feels good. Yo, what's up, D3? It's Anthony from Charlotte GPE.

Speaker 21826.62s - 1827.26s

We're up, Ben PERSON.

Speaker 91827.26s - 1828.28s

We're having a good Tuesday.

Speaker 21828.78s - 1833.38s

I just wanted to call in and say, what's up?

Speaker 101834.82s - 1848.96s

You know, kind of a dead period still in, in um you know the league really for the Panthers

Speaker 21848.96s - 2005.3s

um Rashad Penny PERSON was signed whatever kind of been an insurance guy um the only takeawayI've really come away from this off season besides trying to better Bryce Young's PERSON position to give himself real success um is that I don't think Dave Canales is a liar trying to better Bryce Young's PERSON position to give himself real success, um, is that I don't think Dave Canales PERSON is a liar.I don't think he's a hypocrite or anything like that or he's impulsive. That was the one thing I hated the most about that rule. Um, Frank Reich PERSON was honest. He was just honest, like, in not giving a fuck. He was just like, yeah, like, I know if ran the ball, that may have been the better thing, but no, that's not what I want to do. But, like, I think Dave Canales PERSON is going to be right in the approach of, like, hey, I'm going to be committed to running the ball this year, but if it doesn't work, then we're going to adjust. But running the ball, most times it works. You just got to commit to it by not, you know, giving up on it after like four run plays if you're only getting like eight yards in those four run plays, stuff like that. But like I think like the one thing is, again, like he's just honest. So I don't think we're going to be bullshitted by him at all. Right. Like, he's just honest, so I don't think we're going to be bullshitted by him at all. Right. This whole running back conundrum, like, guys, I think Jonathan PERSON, obviously I wouldn't have taken a running back there and people are still arguing about it.The only way this pick really works is if Jonathan Brooks turns into like a top seven running back. Like if he's like top five, top seven by the end of his second season or if we see like really good flashes after his first year, then okay, yeah, it's going to be a home run pick. But otherwise, no, he needs to be good. And it's not necessarily his fault. It's just that where he was taken. And you got to think it's like, okay, well, if youtook this running back so high, why are you signing all these other running backs? Is this going to be a whole committee thing? I assume Miles Sanders PERSON is going to be out. I just think that they need to give them the rock if this pick's going to really work out, y'all, because there was just so many other, like, base positions of need that we needed, like, player available at like cornerback edge or linebacker um and i know their draft boards are different than what we think every year which is why i'm like not as in tune with getting upset over most of these prospects but those are my thoughtsuh keep pounding keep motherfucking pounding and i'll talk to you guys soon keep pounding anthony uh listen i uh like i kind of kind of Pounding. Keep motherfucking pounding. I'll talk to you guys, Sam. Keep pounding, Anthony PERSON.

Speaker 32005.76s - 2018s

Listen, I, like I kind of alluded to earlier, to me, none of the running back moves have done anything other than say, we want competition.

Speaker 02019.46s - 2025.74s

So, by the way, the super chat, Kev says cody PERSON is a powerback yes did he

Speaker 82025.74s - 2028.18s

fuck you keb appreciate you

Speaker 02028.18s - 2031.72s

I love isn't there one we missed one from

Speaker 82031.72s - 2033.06s

earlier I believe too

Speaker 32033.06s - 2034.96s

I didn't save it

Speaker 82034.96s - 2037.74s

I thought I saw one okay

Speaker 32037.74s - 2040.24s

I like the I'm with Josh

Speaker 82040.24s - 2050.36s

I like the book's pick personally is I think there is value in drafting running backs because you just run them mugs into the dirt. If they are, a diamond dozen, like you said, is you get a good one and you run them into the dirt.

Speaker 32050.36s - 2056.46s

I want to run by theory across our guests and see if he agrees.

Speaker 82056.74s - 2081.32s

Perfect. You're listening to the C3 Panthers ORG podcast, brought to you by Carolina Cat Chronicles.com ORG. Every Tuesday night, we're chopping up the latest Panthers ORG news and opinions from the fan perspective. We appreciate your time and being here with us.com every Tuesday night. We're chopping up the latest Panthers ORG news and opinions from the fan perspective. We appreciate your time and being here with us.Let's welcome in. Ricky Raines from Catgrave at Ricky Bowbody PERSON, the coolest dang. A great X handle, Twitter ORG handle, and a great sign that his wife got him. Yeah, appreciate it, man.

Speaker 62081.36s - 2082.34s

What's up, fellas? How you're doing?

Speaker 82083.26s - 2086.76s

We are bored. Bored.

Speaker 62087.56s - 2087.96s

Really?

Speaker 82088.28s - 2089.36s

With all the commotion?

Speaker 62089.8s - 2091.32s

I mean, it's, this is,

Speaker 92091.32s - 2100.52s

let's ask them the question. What is the deadest time in the NFL ORG? Yeah, right now.

Speaker 82100.52s - 2101.78s

For me, it's, uh, right now.

Speaker 32101.78s - 2103.22s

He's on my side.

Speaker 82103.3s - 2106.24s

Right now. When did I say it was, it was like right

Speaker 32106.24s - 2110.62s

when free agency. Yeah, no, you were in between free agency and the draft. Yeah.

Speaker 52110.62s - 2116.54s

And that's a pretty significant. At that point, you could look forward to the draft. Yeah.

Speaker 32116.54s - 2122.1s

We're just, dude, we're waiting for OTAs. Yeah, like we're getting excited because the rookies

Speaker 52122.1s - 2125.2s

are going to show up on Friday, right? That doesn't really mean much either.

Speaker 62125.38s - 2127.6s

But I think they're both significant lulls.

Speaker 32127.78s - 2132.04s

And we had the mock drafts to kind of pass our time, right, during the pre-draft period.

Speaker 02132.44s - 2134.64s

Right now, just sort of like, hey, let's just see what happens.

Speaker 82134.94s - 2135.84s

I hate a mock draft.

Speaker 02135.84s - 2136.64s

I know you did.

Speaker 82137.28s - 2137.64s

God.

Speaker 02138.28s - 2139.28s

I was guilty as charged.

Speaker 62139.38s - 2141.94s

Let me ask, how many knock draft did you do?

Speaker 82142.8s - 2146.26s

Well, you know, for me too, though, man, I did my big board.

Speaker 62146.38s - 2159.5s

So I did a lot of pre-draft work for the draft in general, not just for the Panthers ORG. So I was kind of getting a feel for the layout and what I thought was some realistic scenarios. I probably did 50 mock drafts in that pre-draft period.

Speaker 82159.8s - 2170.2s

And those mock drafts, 50. Yeah. Did you get any picks right other than Xavier Leggett PERSON? Liggett PERSON? No, I don't think I did.

Speaker 62170.34s - 2170.78s

I had Jonathan PERSON,

Speaker 82170.98s - 2183.4s

well, actually, I take that back, man. I had Jonathan Brooks PERSON, and I actually was taking Jonathan Brooks at 39 at one point when Smoke started to really pop up about Jonathan Brooks PERSON. And by the way, he was also my 39th ranked overall prospect on my top 15.

Speaker 92183.52s - 2212.4s

Nice. Nice. So, like, I was higher on him, I think, than a lot of people were. I think that that ACL injury really took away from the overall evaluation and what people might have thought of him coming out. But no, man, as far as like the Trevin Wallace PERSON pick, hell no, I hadn't, that wasn't on my radar. He was my number 100 overall prospect. So I don't think it was like a egregious pool to take him in the third round, but there were other prospects on there that I probably would have personally sided for.

Speaker 82212.58s - 2228.32s

We've been talking about the running back room since we signed Rashad Pene PERSON. So we'll start with this. As the signing happened today, how do you see, look, we know there's a connection. And look, this is the nepotism of the NFL ORG is real, right?

Speaker 02228.44s - 2231.76s

It's like from coaching staffs to players. Yeah.

Speaker 82231.88s - 2250.94s

That, I mean, even Dan Morgan trading with Buffalo and Brandon Bean and different things. Now, you heard that New England was in the mix. I don't think they want to trade with their own division. But they did trade with the chief. So the nepotism, the relationships matter. Dave Canales has some history with Rashad Pity PERSON.

Speaker 72251.24s - 2257.64s

How do you see him as an addition to this room? And what we were talking about is who's on the bubble in this room?

Speaker 82257.72s - 2262.72s

There's five running backs. I mean, somebody's got to, I mean, obviously we'll be talking about this for months,

Speaker 62262.72s - 2269.82s

but how do you see this working out? I mean, for me, man, I didn't look at it as like he's going to come in to compete for running back two or anything like that.

Speaker 82269.96s - 2282.44s

Jonathan Brooks PERSON is the future. They've invested a second round pick in Jonathan Brooks. They have high plans for him. I think he's RD1, to be honest. If he's healthy, I think he 100 is. I think that what they do here is with Chuba in his final year of his contract.

Speaker 62282.92s - 2289.52s

I think you run them into the dirt, as you guys were just saying. Get as much as you can out of that, right? Squeeze that lemon, get every drum of juice out of it,

Speaker 02289.78s - 2295.5s

make the best lemonade you can this year. You're likely not going to give him a second contract unless it's a very team friendly one.

Speaker 62295.96s - 2327.92s

Jonathan Brooks PERSON, you ease him in. You see about his health, man. And look, that ACL thing doesn't scare me as much as it seems to scare other people. Breeze Hall just came back from an ACL, a clean tear, and right around that same amount of a time frame. And he came back, and after the first month or two in the season,he was right back to form, man. Tijey Spears is playing for Tennessee Titans ORG, and he's got like half of an ACL left. He's tore it like three different times. I'm not overly concerned about his recovery there. I think that what Rashad Penny PERSON does is he brings a skill setthat wasn't in the room. I agree.

Speaker 82327.92s - 2330.12s

I mean, this is a guy that is

Speaker 02330.12s - 2332.64s

he's a breakaway, he's a breakaway runner.

Speaker 32332.94s - 2334.16s

Like you look at him, he's got almost a

Speaker 02334.16s - 2336.36s

50% club. That's what I said. He's a home run hitter.

Speaker 32336.52s - 2337.94s

Oh, yeah, he's a home run hitter.

Speaker 02338s - 2339.9s

He didn't tell me, he's done fighting on this

Speaker 32339.9s - 2342.52s

because Tony PERSON is like he's a power back.

Speaker 62342.92s - 2344.38s

And I'm like, he used to a degree.

Speaker 92344.84s - 2348.38s

But I also think that he's a home run hitter when you give him the opportunity.

Speaker 82348.56s - 2351.58s

Everybody is when you get past the second level. Not everyone.

Speaker 62351.8s - 2364.64s

Not everybody. Yeah, yeah. Look, we've seen Chuba PERSON not be able to kind of finish those runs, right? Miles Sanders PERSON as well. And the other dynamic with Rashad Penny PERSON, though, is that he's got that kick returnflexibility as well. Oh, yeah?

Speaker 72365.16s - 2368.46s

Oh, yeah. He's a good kick return. He was a great kick returner at San Diego State ORG.

Speaker 62368.88s - 2372.26s

And I think that what they're doing is when they look at this, they're not going to

Speaker 72372.26s - 2376.8s

have Jonathan Brooks PERSON rushed into a big role. They're going to let him kind of dictate that.

Speaker 62377.24s - 2403.9s

But then you need somebody to compliment Chuba PERSON, right? So who is that going to be? Is it going to be Miles Sanders who has a very comparable playset, playstyle and skill set as Chuba PERSON? Or do you bring in something that's a little bit different? And it doesn't hurt, man, that he's got familiarity with Canales PERSON and the scheme. Why would that be a bad thing?Like, that's not a terrible thing at all to have familiarity with it. With Rashad Penny PERSON, it's all about his health. If he's healthy, man, he's a really good football player.

Speaker 82403.9s - 2408.16s

Now, has he lost a step? That's the question, right? Because he was a healthy scratch in Philly GPE.

Speaker 62408.82s - 2451.14s

Philly GPE also does weird shit, man. Like, Nick Siriani loves Kenneth Gainwell PERSON. He put Kenneth Gainwell as running back to start the season to get rid of Sanders PERSON. Maybe they could have brought him back for a team-friendly deal if the Panthers ORG hadn't to wait and throw a bag at him, right? So there's just context to it all.I see this as a competition between Sanders, Penny, Blackshear. There's like three other guys. The Sheridan PERSON kid, the undrafted free agent that we have, I still think that he's going to make a little bit of noise in camp. I think that it's like five people competing for running back three and running back four. And you're not going to keep Miles Sanders PERSON on the practice squad. So if he's the odd man out, you're looking for an audition to trade him and get anything back or a post-June first cut to relieve a little bit of that dead cat money.

Speaker 32452.04s - 2462.26s

Yeah, Ricky PERSON, and listen, I just sort of said my philosophy on the running back position. Listen, it's great if you have a transcendent running back talent, right?

Speaker 82462.26s - 2467.32s

Yeah. Way to put a caveat in there now. Eric Henry or Christian McCaffrey PERSON.

Speaker 32467.82s - 2475.8s

But the point that I always make is that it's so overrated compared to the elite talent at other offensive positions.

Speaker 02476.2s - 2480.58s

Specifically, obviously, quarterback, but wide receiver and O line, especially.

Speaker 92481.02s - 2487.1s

If you looked at Miles Sanders last year and you had never seen anything about him before,

Speaker 02487.1s - 2515.48s

you would have never thought that that guy would have ever had a thousand yard rushing season in his life, but he did behind that really good Philadelphia ORG O line. To me, this running back room is perfect because if our O line is as upgraded as we hope it is with that new offensive interior, to me, you can't tell me that one or two of these running backs in this room can't really be explosive.

Speaker 82515.8s - 2525.14s

If we get this O line kind of back where it should be, do you agree with those sentiments more? A man said this is perfect. Shut up.

Speaker 32525.58s - 2526.28s

It is.

Speaker 82526.82s - 2539.28s

Who do you need? What other running bat do you need to make the Carolina Panthers a good run team, Tony PERSON? Ricky PERSON, the question is for you, but I think it is even more nuanced than just only a good

Speaker 32539.28s - 2540.12s

offensive line.

Speaker 92540.12s - 2545.12s

It's part of the running game comes from the ability. Yeah.

Speaker 82546.12s - 2547.22s

Perfect. You know what?

Speaker 92547.3s - 2547.9s

I'm jaded.

Speaker 62548.08s - 2550.26s

I ain't saying shit is perfect in Carolina, but Rick PERSON,

Speaker 92550.26s - 2551.32s

address this question.

Speaker 62551.4s - 2564.66s

Well, so I won't say the P word. I wouldn't call it perfect, right? Because I think that Tony PERSON, I think that you just made a pretty fair point that ties into what you're talking about, Cody. There's a marriage with the offense. You can't have a terrific run game without at least the threat,

Speaker 72564.76s - 2566.92s

the viable threat of an efficient passing game.

Speaker 62567.48s - 2598.9s

So with all of these things, the emphasis on the offensive line is terrific as far as optimism for both of those prospects, passing and running the football. We should improve in both. Not to mention the offensive scheme will not be Frank Reich's PERSON offensive scheme or Thomas Brown and Frank Reich's PERSON weird little baby of a scheme, right? This should be something that is a cohesive, aligned format of running an offense. So with that in mind, I do think that you can see a way better performance from this running back room, even if Miles Sanders PERSON stays, man.I'm like, look, I was pretty vocal about,

Speaker 02599.28s - 2601.76s

I thought that Rashad Penny PERSON could open the door

Speaker 92601.76s - 2606.16s

for Miles Sanders to be a afterthought here in Carolina ORG.

Speaker 02606.16s - 2620.56s

True, but. Because I think that Canales PERSON has been really transparent, man, about like, I'm not going to keep somebody just because you guys signed him last year or paid him a lot of money. He's going to evaluate the roster for the best players. And if Rashad Penny PERSON is healthy, Rashad Penny has been just as good of a running back as

Speaker 92620.56s - 2624.66s

Miles Sanders PERSON in his career with a lesser offensive line. That's a fact, right? Yes.

Speaker 62625.36s - 2675.06s

So I think that it's a legitimate thought. But even if Miles Sanders PERSON stays, man, I anticipate a better performance from him too because I think that we should have a more viable offense as a collective. But I don't think that it's just the offensive line improving that's going to make all these guys, you know, barn burners. I will point out to this about the health aspect.Rahim Moster went to Miami GPE, right? And he hadn't had a healthy season the entire time at San Francisco ORG. They put him in that scheme out there in Miami GPE behind that offensive line, and he barely got touched. Like a lot of his yards were untouched. He was averaging like four yards before contact last year.If we can do that with some of these guys and alleviate some of that, you know, brutal back and forth that their bodies take as running backs, hey, what's to stop us from having a better year than people anticipate?

Speaker 82675.7s - 2682s

Well, look, is, yeah, is that it's easy to have a better year than you anticipate when you don't anticipate anything.

Speaker 62682s - 2688.62s

When you anticipate. Yeah. Yeah. And that is where I'm going to stay at. And it's all, we're playing with house money at this point for me.

Speaker 92688.62s - 2695.74s

Yeah. And that was largely how not only was the Panthers season just so epically terrible last year,

Speaker 82695.92s - 2765.26s

but part of it was the excitement that we generated. And, you know, to be honest, the media, the Charlotte GPE media, the team, they didn't stray from it either. They were feet. And I remember Bill Voth PERSON came out and he's no longer with the team. And he said something like, you got to be cautious about how much your fanning the flames of optimism with all of this new stuff. Cody, how about this? Let's take one more call or another call, should I say,and then pick the next position group that we're going to dissect for who is on the bubble. Because then we'll have to ask Ricky PERSON at some point, is there any competition in the NFL beyond the last 10 spots on a roster? I don't think there is. It is you're competing from 45 to 53 on the roster. And other than that, the guys are entrenched.Let's take another call. The numbers 252-228-28. Cody, I'm counting on you to pick the next position group. Gotcha.

Speaker 32766.26s - 2767.08s

Yo, what's up?

Speaker 42767.14s - 2769.44s

My C3 family. D.

Speaker 32769.8s - 2770.9s

Sign for North Carolina GPE.

Speaker 82771.64s - 2772.66s

Shout out to the great

Speaker 32772.66s - 2773.58s

Tony Dunn PERSON.

Speaker 42773.96s - 2777.28s

To the homie Cody Lack PERSON. The Cole Dizzle PERSON,

Speaker 92777.52s - 2778.48s

C.K.

Speaker 42779.02s - 2789.94s

The muscles mariners that a thing guy and to shut the hell up past the pickle D's Cole. J.J. Jake PERSON, the whole family. Love every single one of you. Nour, Nerve that, and God, and shut the hell up, past the pickle, these, cold, JJ PERSON, the whole family.Love every single one of you.

Speaker 92790.34s - 2793.58s

I'm totally ecstatic that we're going to pound the ball.

Speaker 42793.94s - 2846.8s

Getting these backs in here, get as many fresh legs and running. It can only do but help Bryce PERSON and make Bryce better and make Bryce PERSON efficient. So having them guys load up on the box because they can't stop the run. And then we hit that play action over the top or hit some little short passes here andthere, dink and dunk it, hand it right back off, ball control, keep our defense off the field as much as we possibly can, kind of like a rest of people, some W ORG's family. And that's what we're here for, This team of dogs that we got assembled here. These dogs are about the bites. And I smell it. We're going to have a great year.Like I said, I love every single one of y'all. I'm so, so thoroughly ecstatic to get to all the other festivities that we get to training camp. Hopefully we have a big C3 ORG reunion. Hey, love every single one of you. Keep pounding.

Speaker 32847.36s - 2873.76s

Keep pounding. We definitely don't have to talk about that C3 ORG get together, man. That's going to be too fun. But listen, let's go back to the Panthers ORG roster. We've sort of been predicting who is going to be the guys that are on the bubble. We predicted for running back the Black She shear PERSON probably on the bubble in that scenario.Ricky PERSON, real quick, do you have a bubble player for the running back room that you see potentially?

Speaker 62874.22s - 2875.88s

No, because I have no idea.

Speaker 32876.68s - 2880.9s

Man, I don't have any idea what they intend to do with that position, though, to be completely

Speaker 62880.9s - 2886.12s

honest. I don't know how many they plan to carry on the 53, and I think that plays a really big part in it

Speaker 82886.12s - 2889.88s

because I think you only stash one or two on the practice squad, right?

Speaker 62890.08s - 2890.22s

Yeah.

Speaker 82890.32s - 2892.98s

So you got five that you're choosing between.

Speaker 62893.1s - 2913.68s

So it's really hard right now to pick a bubble for the running back spot. But I will say that the punt return and the kick return option becomes really interesting when you draft Xavier Leggett PERSON, who that may be an immediate area where he can contribute, and that takes away from Rahim Blackshare's PERSON value. You know what I mean?So does he become dispensable at that point?

Speaker 32913.98s - 2924.12s

I think it's very dependent on Jonathan Brooks' PERSON health, though. Yeah, no, that's a great point. Health is really the story for a few of these guys.

Speaker 62924.42s - 2925.44s

Brooks, Penny PERSON. Yeah, absolutely. Even Sanders wasn't too a few of these guys. Brooks, Penny.

Speaker 32926.12s - 2930.52s

Yeah, absolutely. Even Sanders wasn't too healthy most of the time last year.

Speaker 92930.82s - 2960.34s

So let's go to the wide receiver position. Who do we think is going to be on the bubble at wide receiver? The guys we have so far, Jonathan Mingo, Xavier the Get PERSON, Teres Marshall Jr., Deontay Johnson PERSON, David Moore, Cam Sims PERSON,Adam Thudlin PERSON, Elyr Smith, Marcette PERSON. And that's just the name of few. We also have some undrafted free agents that I know a lot of people are excited about.

Speaker 32961.02s - 2967.52s

Boys, who we think is going to be the bubble player who's probably not wrong for

Speaker 82967.52s - 2976.8s

the team how is it not paris marshall junior PERSON yeah i mean how is it not you know is uh he's made

Speaker 32976.8s - 2984.12s

the roster he's never made any impact on the team outside of a few plays when steve wilkes

Speaker 82984.12s - 2986.76s

was the coach.

Speaker 32990.32s - 2990.72s

We saw him last year at training camp just like off.

Speaker 82991.66s - 3014.58s

He kind of reminds me. He's like the wide receiver version of C.J. Henderson PERSON. You know, is like he doesn't talk with anybody on the sidelines. All of the hope we had last year and all the opportunity. CK PERSON. Who's on the bubble here?Oh, man. He's had a bunch of names too after Terrace Marshall Jr. I don't know any of them.

Speaker 53016.26s - 3016.48s

Yeah, like Cam Sam's PERSON and those guys.

Speaker 63016.72s - 3016.84s

Yeah.

Speaker 83018.02s - 3018.18s

Who are these people?

Speaker 53018.5s - 3018.54s

I mean,

Speaker 63022.8s - 3023.68s

it's not named Mingo PERSON,

Speaker 83024.16s - 3027.06s

Xavier, uh, Johnson PERSON.

Speaker 53028.34s - 3028.92s

Yeah, those guys.

Speaker 83029.1s - 3030.14s

And Thielen PERSON, right?

Speaker 53030.22s - 3031.88s

So anybody not named those three.

Speaker 83031.98s - 3040.02s

Amir Smith PERSON, but I think he is probably, he's going to be a make it. I think he's going to be a surprise candidate over top of some of the people.

Speaker 53040.66s - 3065.84s

Well, I think he was, like, even when you look at this, like, we, we brought Deonti Johnson on because he was the considered the best separator in the league last year, or really his entire time in the NFL ORG, it's always been his hands that are the biggest issue. But when you think about Amir Smith-Morset, when you look at his analytics from last year, he was actually an incredibly efficient separator. It's just he wasn't getting as many opportunities.

Speaker 83066.84s - 3094.78s

And I think that he will get the opportunities under Canales PERSON. Ricky is, I mean, obviously we're going to, look, Deontay Johnson PERSON. Yeah. He's already said they told him he was going to be the X. Right. Xavier Leggett, number one draft pick this year, traded up.I mean, obviously, Delaide PERSON, it seems like unless they trade him or something like that, they've got to roll for him.

Speaker 53095.28s - 3102.38s

Mingo, you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet for, I think it's a mere Marce PERSON.

Speaker 83102.38s - 3111.44s

But we, you know, the last time, Ricky PERSON, I've got a spreadsheet somewhere about, we usually only keep five or six wide receivers. Right.

Speaker 03111.74s - 3115.38s

Six is a high number. Yep. Of wide out.

Speaker 83115.68s - 3133.94s

And the only time I think we had seven on the roster was when Steve Smith PERSON got hurt back in like 2008, somewhere in there. Remember, like he broke his forearm or his leg in the preseason game or some

Speaker 03133.94s - 3134.74s

shit. Right, right.

Speaker 83134.74s - 3150.7s

But there's at the max there are six players. We've got Johnson PERSON. We've got Leggett PERSON. We've got Thielen PERSON. We've got Mingo. We've got Johnson. We've got Liget. We've got Thielen PERSON. We've got Mingo PERSON.We've got a myth, whatever his name is.

Speaker 63151.64s - 3152.48s

Amir Smith-Marset PERSON.

Speaker 83155.74s - 3157.84s

Who is else in this team? Who could make it?

Speaker 63160.14s - 3186.32s

So you bring up an interesting point with Thielen PERSON just about the slim possibility that he gets moved, right? I don't foresee that happening because I think that that stability at the wide receiver position is still going to be necessary for Bryce Young in year two. Right. Taking away something that he's very comfortable with that he's had production with seems a little bit counterintuitive to me.But if they get an offer for anything reasonable, right, if somebody wants to give a third rounder or something like that for Adam Thielen PERSON, you move off immediately.

Speaker 83186.32s - 3187.66s

Would you take a fifth for him?

Speaker 63188.52s - 3201.46s

I mean, it depends on what they think about Jonathan Mingo PERSON, to be completely honest. That's where I think it really comes down to for me. Right. And that's where it's really difficult to project some of this stuff is because this is a brand

Speaker 03201.46s - 3204.54s

new coaching staff with no ties to any of these players.

Speaker 83205.12s - 3207.52s

But there is a chance that they come in and they see,

Speaker 63208.02s - 3217.36s

I don't personally believe this, they come in and they see Terrace Marshall Jr. And they say, look, this kid's got ability. Because that's something that's never been questioned with Terrace. It's his ability to play the position. That's there.

Speaker 83217.46s - 3218s

The problem.

Speaker 63219s - 3222.9s

From everything that I have gathered in conversations that I've had,

Speaker 83223.24s - 3230.36s

it's been more of a mentality and more of a defeated when things aren't going his way, he's not a very happy camper.

Speaker 93230.76s - 3231.52s

And that's understandable.

Speaker 63232.32s - 3235.84s

That's understandable to me to an extent because of the circumstances

Speaker 93235.84s - 3236.8s

that he's dealt with,

Speaker 63236.88s - 3238.32s

but also you're a young player.

Speaker 93238.56s - 3258s

You're trying to make your hey, you kind of got to go out there and do it. Now, he has been very professional from a media standpoint, right? That doesn't mean that what we hear is exactly what happens in the locker room. He's had issues where he's not getting on the field. And that's talking about with a wide receiver group that was just abysmal last year. So, like, if you're ever going to take a chance on talent over attitude, that's when you would have done it.

Speaker 63259.14s - 3263.7s

I also think they were very stubborn with DJ Chark PERSON. Now that he's gone, that opens up a little bit with the alignment.

Speaker 83264.22s - 3266.6s

He's so, I'm so embarrassed.

Speaker 63267.5s - 3269s

I'm still embarrassed by.

Speaker 83269s - 3271.68s

But so talking about the bubble seat,

Speaker 63271.8s - 3271.94s

man,

Speaker 83272.06s - 3280.96s

I think that Amir Smith PERSON, Marcette PERSON is still up in the air, to be completely honest, man. He signed a one year contract, right?Like, we didn't give him any kind of big vote of confidence.

Speaker 63281.58s - 3285.96s

One year contract, and it was kind of just like, hey, look, who else is on the roster? Like we don't have

Speaker 83285.96s - 3289.84s

anybody else. For me, he's a kick returner or a punt returner. That's why we signed him for.

Speaker 63290.02s - 3295.68s

But then what do you do if you, if you have any kind of vision of using any of these other guys in that position, right? I could.

Speaker 83295.68s - 3297.32s

Xavier Liggett PERSON.

Speaker 73297.62s - 3299.84s

Rashad Penny PERSON, if he makes the, if he makes

Speaker 83299.84s - 3301.8s

the team. Punt, was

Speaker 73301.8s - 3304.38s

Amir PERSON, he wasn't kickoff.

Speaker 63305.08s - 3308.94s

Amir. Yeah, no. Rahim Blackshare PERSON was our kick returner.

Speaker 73309.06s - 3312.42s

Right. And Amir PERSON was our punt returner. Now, you still have, you still have to Sean.

Speaker 63312.84s - 3318.36s

Rashad Penny at punt return. No, but you do have Deshawn Jameson, the corner out of Texas ORG last

Speaker 73318.36s - 3322.84s

year that was a really good special teams player at Texas ORG. So if he's going to make the roster,

Speaker 83322.84s - 3340.64s

because you're also going to have this log jam in that cornerback room that you got to figure out who has that special team's value. So there is just this question of which player is likely to assume those positions. And that's what's going to dictate a lot of these bubble positions in my opinion. Amir Smith-Marset PERSON is probably the favorite to get that last spot.

Speaker 93340.8s - 3348.24s

David Moore PERSON seems like a campbody who's coming in to help with the vocabulary and familiarity and familiarity with the team, right? Correct. Right.

Speaker 83348.78s - 3353.98s

Kind of like that. I will say this though. Terris Marshall Jr. PERSON actually

Speaker 33353.98s - 3359.9s

turning it around at this point might be one of the most surprising things to happen on the

Speaker 83359.9s - 3365.54s

entire roster. Like nobody believes in Ter Terish Marshall Jr. PERSON at this point.

Speaker 33365.82s - 3368s

We've been waiting to see flashes for him

Speaker 93368s - 3406.98s

from him for a long time and still haven't seen it. And, you know, it is something worth mentioning. Ricky PERSON,if you're right, if his kind of boils down to an attitude problem, well, it's going to hard to continue to ingratiate yourselfto a different coaching staff after a different coaching staff. It just gets harder and harder the more time goes on. And then knowing Jonathan Mingo and Xavier Leggett PERSON, the fact that both of those guys in college had times when their coaches would move them into the slot. Like it seems as though you would want to work those guys from those slot positions.

Speaker 83407.24s - 3410.42s

It does Mingo and Xavier Leggett PERSON.

Speaker 33410.42s - 3461.7s

I think I've heard Mingo PERSON's natural position is the slot. Like he's more of that type of player. People said that it was an unfair comparison. And Rickie, that would actually be a good question for you at some juncture. But a lot of people were kind ofcomparing Xavier Leggett to Jonathan Mingo PERSON. Basically saying that they're almost like the same kind of wide receiver. And in some respects, it is true. The way that you deployed them is similar, although I do think Xavier Leggett has much more physical attributes. But you mentioned trading Adam Thielen PERSON, and it does make me a wonder. Now that you add Deante Johnson PERSON to the mix, you're going to want to move around Mingo PERSON and the get,I'm assuming. It does make you wonder about the trade viability of Adam Thielen and what they would even be able to get for him at this point.

Speaker 63461.7s - 3464.5s

And to play devil's advocate to that question, though,

Speaker 33467.3s - 3467.44s

we shouldn't feel 100% certain.

Speaker 63470.18s - 3474.58s

And Tony PERSON, you said you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet. But that bathwater wasn't drawn by this coach.

Speaker 83478.46s - 3484.18s

So if they look at this, if they look at these guys and they say, hey, look, Mingo PERSON just doesn't look like a good football player. Like, I don't think that he cracks the rotation. Yeah, so was Terrence Marshall Jr.

Speaker 63484.78s - 3485.66s

And Terrence Marshall Jr. PERSON had a whole lot more production, so was Terrence Marshall Jr. And Terrace Marshall Jr.

Speaker 83485.66s - 3490.98s

had a whole lot more production at college. Terris Marshall Jr. PERSON had big seasons. But you gave him four years.

Speaker 63492.12s - 3493.98s

This will be his fourth, right?

Speaker 83494.1s - 3499.2s

Yeah, I mean, you've given Terris Marshall Jr. PERSON a leash. And look, I hear you.

Speaker 63499.58s - 3501.98s

And I'm not saying that you're wrong. Right.

Speaker 83502.34s - 3514.44s

But I think this is, I think it would be ultimately, if we're going to go on the internet and argue about how unfair it is to judge Bryce Young PERSON because of all of the system, it's not like mango.

Speaker 63514.84s - 3516.06s

Yeah, fair across the board.

Speaker 33517.04s - 3520.28s

Well, and what I was going to say about the trade value, though, is that when you're

Speaker 83520.28s - 3524.34s

asking what the trade value is for Thielen PERSON, what could the trade value be for a second

Speaker 33524.34s - 3525.72s

round or just one year removed

Speaker 63525.72s - 3570.74s

that some people might have really believed in his talent? Does he give you actually more of a return and then allows Thelan PERSON to continue to man that slot position? Because that's the only alignment that Thelan PERSON is going to be deployed from, right? We're not going to run Thelan PERSON out there in the flanker. Like, he's just not going to work out.And it may happen like three snaps out of a game or something like that just to keep a defense honest, but that's not where you're going to work him out of. So when you're looking at that log jam at that position, you do have to consider if Mingo can get a better return and his coaching staff isn't sold on him. I'm not giving him the, you know, sure thing just because he was drafted in the second round last year. I'm not out on Mingo PERSON personally.I think that he showed ability. I think that he was completely misused, as was about 90% of the roster last season, if you want to be completely honest.

Speaker 03571.54s - 3598.6s

So I try to give everybody a little bit of a hall pass for last year. Mingo PERSON was young. He wasn't supposed to take on as big of a role as he did. They forced that. If he gets his feet underneath him and he has a little bit more field awareness and he takes it a little bit more seriously from all the things that I heard, he does work relatively hard. It's not like the guy just doesn't practice. So if he had a good offseason, if Canales can get a lot out of him, Canalis is a really good wide receiver coach. Brad Isaac PERSON was a really good wide receiver coach.

Speaker 63599s - 3609.5s

If anyone is going to get something out of these guys, it's this coaching staff. And we should also look at that on the other hand and say, if they don't like him, we got to trust that too. And if they say, hey, look, Mingo PERSON, we don't like,

Speaker 03609.96s - 3615.08s

feeling we think we can trade, we're ready to roll with Jalen Coker out of Holy Cross ORG. If that's what they come into

Speaker 63615.08s - 3617.96s

and they like, hey, look, man, I'm open

Speaker 33617.96s - 3623.3s

right now to just about any situation they want to do. And it seems like that never happens for Carolina ORG.

Speaker 63623.66s - 3630.5s

Like it happens for every other team and not us that that guy that surprises out of nowhere and ends up making the roster.

Speaker 93630.86s - 3636.36s

Like, why can't we ever have good things, man? Like that needs to happen to us at some point

Speaker 33636.36s - 3643.7s

in time. It would be a fun story. Yeah. And I agree with you too. Dude, I have such a short leash

Speaker 93643.7s - 3648.38s

for anyone that hasn't done anything for us like if you have not played

Speaker 33648.38s - 3654s

good football for the panthers i'm not going to bat an eyelash at you man and jonathan mingo

Speaker 93654s - 3660.32s

i also noticed last year that there there felt like a lot of times where he was just sort of

Speaker 03660.32s - 3665.26s

half-ass run his route and it just seemed kind of low effort from him at times.

Speaker 93665.56s - 3676.84s

If that continues to be a problem this year, yeah, you've got to think that they're either going to look to say something to him or put him on the bench or something because we need

Speaker 63676.84s - 3686.66s

something from him. Also, it's worth keeping in mind, too, that if they're really truly going to emphasize the run game and he's going to be stubborn with that, you're going to need wide receivers that are good blockers, right?

Speaker 93686.9s - 3690.26s

I don't know that ISM ORG fits that billing all that much.

Speaker 63690.42s - 3715.32s

I don't know that Thielen PERSON fits that billing all that much. Now, Theonan PERSON is a much better pass catcher, though. But Jonathan Mingo, that was one of the reasons that he was thought of highly coming out, is that they thought that he was a good, you could shift him into motion and let him run through that C gap and pick up those motion blocks. If he is going to be able to be deployed in that way,he may end up being a little bit more valuable to this offensive scheme than what we saw last year. Yeah.

Speaker 33715.62s - 3725.52s

And my last question about the receiver thing, Deonti Johnson said that he's the number one wide receiver, that he came here to get, you know, to be the number one

Speaker 63725.52s - 3746.94s

on most of the plays. Do you think that's true? You agree with that assessment? Yeah. I don't see any reason not to believe it, to be completely honest. We forced Fed Adam Thielen into wide receiver one last year because we didn't have otherviable options. I don't think that that necessarily meant that Adam Thielen would be wide receiver one for just about any other NFL football team other than our team last year.

Speaker 03747.58s - 3754.04s

Deontay Johnson PERSON playing the X is only surprising to people because they think of the X has to be a big strong physical receiver, right?

Speaker 63754.24s - 3769.04s

That's a big misconception on that. It's press coverage. Can you beat press coverage? That is what the X alignment is. Deonti Johnson PERSON is about the only player on this roster that you should feel confident can beat press coverage at a high percentage. So, no, I'm not surprised by that one bit, ma'am.

Speaker 33770.98s - 3771.8s

What's next?

Speaker 73773.1s - 3776.84s

We're picking up some more bubble players.

Speaker 33777.78s - 3783.96s

You don't want to, what other position? Tony PERSON, I picked the last one. What other position you want?

Speaker 83783.96s - 3787.04s

Well, let's go to the easy one, tight end room. Yep.

Speaker 33787.3s - 3787.74s

Tighten.

Speaker 83787.74s - 3805.58s

Um, you know, what you get is you get Tommy Trimble PERSON. You get Ian Thomas PERSON, who is the player who won't go away. Yeah.Uh, you know, I'm still upset that Ian Thomas turned out to be a terrible player because like his rookie season, he came out and was a pass catching tight end.

Speaker 33805.82s - 3806.24s

I mean,

Speaker 83807.14s - 3810.08s

he has been far below expectations.

Speaker 33810.32s - 3810.6s

Totally.

Speaker 83810.6s - 3814.06s

I wouldn't call it terrible because they wouldn't bring him back.

Speaker 33814.22s - 3815.12s

I don't know.

Speaker 83815.42s - 3816.66s

He's not doing anyone.

Speaker 33816.88s - 3819.18s

He's not making any new Panther ORG fans. Let's say.

Speaker 83819.18s - 3823.5s

And then we got a rookie, right? We get the rookie from Texas ORG. So,

Speaker 33823.5s - 3838.9s

so all the tight ends listed here. We have Tommy Trumbull, Stephen Sullivan, Chris Pierce, Jr., Ian Thomas, Jordan Matthews, and the newly drafted Jotavian Sanders PERSON. Yeah.

Speaker 83839.66s - 3864.18s

I'll let you guys comment on this because, I mean, I think Tommy Trembal PERSON has potential still as a player. I don't think he's been bad. I think he's just been on a bad team. And Ian Thomas PERSON is just fat now to me. I hate to say that because I'm, you know, but he, I mean, do you carry all of these guys?

Speaker 33864.34s - 3866.98s

Do you carry four tighters usually I think we carry

Speaker 93866.98s - 3870.54s

yeah Thomas PERSON was here when

Speaker 83870.54s - 3871.54s

Ron Rivera PERSON was here

Speaker 33871.54s - 3892.38s

that's funny to think of I don't I really don't even know who's on the bubble I'm just hoping that we're able to get a Tommy Trumbull Jetavian Sanders two tight-in sets this yearlike that's what I'm really hoping that we're able to do. The rest is just a bunch of who cares to me. Agreed.

Speaker 53893.16s - 3894.96s

I think that Tom PERSON, you know,

Speaker 33894.96s - 3908.68s

unfortunately Ian Thomas PERSON, I think, is our best run blocking tight end. And based on the draft profiles I've seen on Jotavian Sanders PERSON, he's not going to be coming in to fill that role. No, he won't.

Speaker 63909.44s - 3919.78s

I would even argue that Tommy Trembal PERSON is our better blocker at this point in their careers as well. Yeah, I think that when you look at the way Ian PERSON might be a better inline blocker,

Speaker 03919.9s - 3943s

but he's a little bit slow, man. Like his reaction is slow. We saw him get beat a couple times last year as an inline blocker that he just did not have wherewithal, man. Like he was just a second delayed. And you just can't be that. You know what I mean? Now he's got the longer arms. And I think that's where he kind of has that recovery physical ability. But Tommy Trumbull PERSON, man, I love him a lot as a lead blocker. He played that hback role at Notre Dame ORG.

Speaker 63943.52s - 4003.08s

Very similar kind of to like George Kittle PERSON deployment out of that backfield where he could kind of be that fullback. He could shift in motion back into that H-back. He can line up in the slot. I think that he has a little bit more versatility. So when you look at what Canalis said about a Swiss Army knife in the tight end room, Tommy Trembles PERSON is the only one that fits that billing at this point. So for me, he would be the de facto tight end one coming into the season. I'm with you, Cody, that I would love to see some 12 personnel run with Jatavion Sanders and Tommy Trembal PERSON out there. The problem you run into there is exactly what we were just talking about. Jatavion PERSON is not a good blocker, man. Like, he's just not. And I know that a lot of fans want to overlook that and say, well, he's not brought in here to do that. He's brought in as a pass catching weapon. I agree because that's about the only redeemable thing that you sawon his majority of his tape. Sometimes he can make a play as a lead blocker in open space, but he's not super nimble, man. Like as a lateral mover, that's not his thing.

Speaker 04003.7s - 4005.4s

As a pass catcher,

Speaker 64007.02s - 4032.46s

he's going to bust the seams. He's going to be able to execute on slip screens and quick pass concepts like that. But this isn't a three-level route runner. So I hope that fans aren't expecting him to come in and do any of the things that we've seen like a Dalton Kincaid or Sam Leporta or George Kittle PERSON or any of those guys, right? Mark Andrews PERSON is somebody that I see him compared to a lot. And that's just not a fair comparison. He's going to be a possession tight-end receiver.

Speaker 04033.36s - 4060s

That doesn't offer a huge usage right away, in my opinion. Stephen Sullivan is an interesting name because he has a connection with Canales from Seattle ORG days. So does he end up making the roster over Ian Thomas or does Canales PERSON say we need that blocking tight end and keep Ian Thomas over Stephen Sullivan PERSON? I also think Stephen Sullivan could be a practice squad player, whereas Ian Thomas PERSON maybe gets another gig somewhere else in the NFL ORG.Yeah.

Speaker 34060.18s - 4103.54s

You know, that's a good point to make there, is that the blocking from Tatavian Sanders PERSON leaves a lot wanting. And most times it tied in, you know, especially early in their career, coaches aren't going to feel comfortable putting them out there for any type of pass catching if they don't trust them in pass protection and in run blocking. And there's so much in the college game that they're not asked to do, as opposed to the NFL ORG, where they're asked to do so many different things. And just the strength and conditioning system of NFL ORG athletes is different.I think this kind of contributes to why some titans take longer than others to develop

Speaker 04103.54s - 4106.2s

and kind of turn into that player that you've

Speaker 94106.2s - 4111.82s

been waiting to see, which is why it wouldn't surprise me if, you know, even though fans love

Speaker 04111.82s - 4129.08s

to hate on him, if we would actually end up seeing a little more Ian Thomas PERSON than they're hoping to, as opposed to Jatio and Sandrish PERSON, while he does learn the ropes and the ends and outs of being an actual tight end of doing everything to that position in Taylor PERSON.

Speaker 64129.52s - 4156.94s

Rookie tight ends haven't produced typically in like a historical fashion, man. I think that everyone is a little bit nearsighted because of Sam LaPorter and Duncan Cacade in the past two years. But if you go back beyond that, rookie tight ends don't make a huge impact in their first year in the league, man. That position takes some time to acclimate and get used to all of the responsibilities in the NFL ORG that you have to do. And you're exactly right, Cody, no block, no rock type of situation, right?

Speaker 04157.24s - 4173.4s

If you are a liability out there, A, you're tipping the hand to the defense that when you're out there, you're a pass catcher. You're not a blocker. So that's going to remove that side of the field as a running assignment, right? Right. So if that's the case, they're not going to use you a lot. They will use you in obvious situations because you have a commodity to you.

Speaker 64173.76s - 4179.14s

But you're not going to stay multiple by putting Jatio on Sanders out there for 80% of the snaps. Correct.

Speaker 84179.62s - 4179.82s

Yeah.

Speaker 34180.48s - 4180.88s

All right.

Speaker 84180.92s - 4181.44s

What's next?

Speaker 34183.06s - 4184s

Let's go back.

Speaker 84184.56s - 4185.6s

Let's go to the defense. Let's go to the defense.

Speaker 34185.8s - 4188.36s

Let's go the cornerbacks in the secondary because...

Speaker 84188.36s - 4189.28s

That's a tough one, man.

Speaker 64189.68s - 4192.2s

I mean, and then we'll go defensive line,

Speaker 84192.28s - 4197s

and that's probably about all we got to really talk about when it comes to the bubble at knowing at this point.

Speaker 34197.12s - 4201.9s

Yep. So which position you want to do first?

Speaker 84202s - 4227.38s

Let's start with the corners. We've got J.C. Horn on his fifth year option. We have Troy Hill PERSON, who's played well, who is familiar with Giro or Evaro PERSON. And we drafted a rookie corner, but I couldn't tell you any other corners on the team. I know we signed some guy that people keep, they say his name and they're like.

Speaker 54227.92s - 4229.84s

Dane Jack PERSON. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 84229.96s - 4230.98s

What's his name again? C.

Speaker 54230.98s - 4232.84s

Kane Jackson? Yeah.

Speaker 84232.84s - 4237.1s

And those are all the names I know in the secondary group, which is wild.

Speaker 54237.64s - 4238.88s

DeCaprio Boodle PERSON.

Speaker 34239.62s - 4240.02s

Or as,

Speaker 54240.26s - 4240.42s

okay.

Speaker 34240.92s - 4243.1s

That sounds cool because I remember his name.

Speaker 84243.3s - 4246.1s

As Dave Newton would call him DeCaprio Booty PERSON.

Speaker 34246.94s - 4249.24s

Isn't that what Dave Newton PERSON called him?

Speaker 64249.34s - 4249.62s

Yeah.

Speaker 34250.3s - 4251.9s

Hey, LaMalle Jackson PERSON's on our team.

Speaker 64251.98s - 4322.24s

That's cool. Yeah, that's right. I'll tell you, man, I think that they really like DeCaprio Boodle PERSON. I don't, if you read between the lines, man, I think that this staff is high on DeCaprio Boodle and Dane Jackson PERSON. And that doesn't make fans feel warm and fuzzy. I understand that this staff is high on DeCaprio Boodle and Dane Jackson PERSON. And that doesn't make fans feel warm and fuzzy.I understand that sentiment. But they made a pretty conscious decision to not take a corner that has, well, show Smith Wade PERSON does have a lot of experience as a boundary corner. That's what he played primarily at Washington State ORG, the rookie that we took in the fifth round. But he's 5 foot 9, 184 pounds with short arms.So the prospects of him playing boundary in the NFL ORG are a little bit muddy to me. I don't necessarily see that being the smartest thing. He picked up nickel really fast at the senior bowl. But now you got this log jam at nickel, right? So like, what do you do there? Because you got Troy Hill PERSON.You just drafted Jamie Robinson last year. I guess he could project more as a safety. But then you got to Sean Jameson, who they seemed to be pretty high on last year as well. It's going to be really interesting to see what happens. But DiCaprio Boodle and Dane Jackson PERSON, man, I think they got some serious support within the building. Do you think it's inevitable that we signed

Speaker 34322.24s - 4345.76s

Stefan Gilmore? Because I feel like Panther ORG fans have kind of convinced themselves that this is inevitable, that this is going to happen. But I just don't take anything for granted. I don't see a dependable cornerback too on this roster right now. Like we have J.C. Horn PERSON and again, JC has a well-documented history with the injuries now.

Speaker 94346.18s - 4348.74s

We're open to see a full healthy season from him.

Speaker 04349.38s - 4354s

But, God, like, who's, you know, who's on the other side of him?

Speaker 34354.34s - 4354.54s

Yeah.

Speaker 94354.64s - 4355.94s

I just, I don't know, man.

Speaker 34355.94s - 4372.66s

And the more I look at it, the more it just scares me. Like, if you don't go and get Stefan Gilmore on this team, I'm really worried that we don't have anywhere near the type of depth to stop the pass in the NFC South LOC.

Speaker 64373.08s - 4439.82s

I don't think it's as much of as inevitability as so many fans think it is. I think that it's probable that they make a move in the cornerback room. Now, whether that's on the waiver wire after the first or second round of cuts that Dan Morgan PERSON has said that he'll be aggressive with, or if that's on a secondary player like an Adori Jackson PERSON or something like that that's still out there at free agency, the concern with Stefan Gilmore is does he want more money than what we should be allocatingto that cornerback two position. But Cody, you bring up a point about J.C. Horn PERSON that I think you should touch on. And that's that if J.C. PERSON is really more consistent about missing games than he is about playing them, you have to have somebody you feel comfortable that can slide into cornerback one and then a contingency plan at cornerback two. That's where I think the Dane Jackson and DeCaprio Boodle PERSON dynamic happens because I think that they like Dane Jackson as cornerback two.I think that if you were to see J.C. Horn get injured, I think they keep Dane PERSON at corner two and they slide DeCaprio over to that cornerback one position and they let them both man that.

Speaker 34440.66s - 4442.8s

I also think they like the character.

Speaker 64442.8s - 4443.9s

They really favorite.

Speaker 34443.96s - 4445.12s

I think they really like it, man. And hey, to be completely fair, man, if you go back and watch the character that they really favorite I think they really like it man

Speaker 64445.12s - 4447.04s

and hey to be completely fair man

Speaker 34447.04s - 4448.56s

if you go back and watch the opportunities

Speaker 64448.56s - 4460.7s

that he did have last season he did not play bad man he outplayed C.J. Henderson PERSON in my opinion last year on the opportunities that he had and they were relatively high on C.J. Whether that was right or wrong,I'm not trying to argue that point.

Speaker 04460.94s - 4462.18s

But if they were high on him

Speaker 94462.18s - 4464.46s

and DiCaprio PERSON just looked like a better player

Speaker 04464.46s - 4465.64s

when he was on the field,

Speaker 64466.24s - 4478.62s

I honestly could see them having a decent amount of faith and they want to see what they do in Evereaux PERSON system this year before they invest any more money into that position for a serious player. Yeah.

Speaker 84479.3s - 4485.8s

What's it going to look like at safety? Jammy. It's not Jamie PERSON. It's jammy. I know he calls it Jamie, but look at how it's spelled. That safety jammy. It's not Jamie. It's jammy. I know he

Speaker 64485.8s - 4491.78s

calls it Jamie PERSON, but look at how it's spelled. That's jammy. Well, let's see. We got Fuller PERSON, right? We just, we picked up Fuller

Speaker 84491.78s - 4497.86s

in the offseason. That's a pretty good acquisition, I think. Is it? A lot of Rams ORG. Is that the guy from the Rams?

Speaker 64498.08s - 4499.56s

Yeah. Yeah. A lot of people,

Speaker 84499.76s - 4501.38s

Rams ORG fans talk junk about him.

Speaker 64501.46s - 4562.1s

I think the thing about him is that he's got an aggressive ball hawking play style. And that's something that is different than what we had last year. Now, some of that is Von Bell's injuries last season. I don't think that he was able to play the way that he maybe would have played in a perfect scenario in a vacuum. But I think that for the style that Evere PERSON likes to play in disguising coverages and bringing his safeties downhill to blitz because he doesn't send a lot of pressure from thelinebacker position, right? Like we saw last year, we saw Brian Burns PERSON drop into coverage a lot more than we had ever seen before. He does a lot of disguising on the back end of his coverage. That's where I think a guy like Jordan Fuller PERSON, he's going to make a little bit of his hay as well. But then I do think you see Jamie Robinson PERSON maybe mix in there. I mean, hey, look, at some point, man, we have got to see development from some of these draft picks. And that's going to be the real like kicker for this team on offense and defense is who develops and how far have they gotten in that one offseason working with EJ PERSON or with this offensive staff.

Speaker 34563.24s - 4568.1s

Yeah. Well said. Yeah, to see the development,

Speaker 94570.48s - 4575.28s

that's one of the things I've been harping on for years. Like even when it comes to some of the guys that we're wondering about this year,

Speaker 34575.48s - 4581.8s

like the, we're still out on DJ Johnson PERSON at linebacker. We traded up for him last year.

Speaker 04582.4s - 4585.36s

And none of us really know if he's going to be a meaningful

Speaker 94585.36s - 4587.5s

contributor to this team.

Speaker 64588.06s - 4592.06s

Like someone has to eventually start impressing that we've

Speaker 34592.06s - 4593.88s

drafted. I think the

Speaker 64593.88s - 4607.42s

DJ Johnson PERSON thing is something fans got to open their minds to a little bit, man, because look, they signed DJ Wannum PERSON. I don't think that they're like anticipation is that DJ Wattom comes in here and amasses nine sacks like he did last year in Minnesota ORG.

Speaker 04607.88s - 4622s

That was a huge benefit to that Brian Flores PERSON system of creating chaos. Evereaux PERSON is not that same system. DJ Wanham PERSON was a cleanup hitter. You know what I mean? Like he took advantage of being in the right place and effort a lot.

Speaker 64622.5s - 4661.72s

He didn't win a lot one-on-won. DeVion Clowny PERSON did, but that was also in Mike McDonald's place and effort a lot. He didn't win a lot one-on-won. DeVion Clowny did, but that was also in Mike McDonald's Baltimore ORG defense with a lot of talent around him and moving pieces that were also playing big parts of that. So I think that DJ Johnson PERSON, man,his development is a huge aspect of what this defense is going to be able to do. If he can come out and at least provide that edge setting that they drafted him to be able to do, If he can come out and at least provide that edge setting that they drafted him to be able to do, maybe they can conjure up a little bit more of the secondary blitzing and making pressure. But if he comes out, man, he's lost again.I wouldn't be surprised if he's a casualty before the 53 man roster is set as well. Yeah.

Speaker 84662.64s - 4669.9s

Cody, let's take one more call and we'll continue with this conversation and I'll see. We can wrap things up soon too. Okay.

Speaker 04672.16s - 4690.78s

Yeah, we got us off with this. Miles Sanders PERSON is not a good or not, not a good run back either. But the shot penny is not a good running back, though. You're excited about this? Is what you're excited about? Come on, man, you guys good running bank, though. Like, you're excited about this.Is what you're excited about? Come on, man, you guys have to stop, dude. We got to stop at this.

Speaker 94691.02s - 4692.48s

We got to stop at this.

Speaker 04692.54s - 4700.5s

So it's Chuba PERSON. And it's the kid Brooks PERSON. That's it. You got to stop, though. We got to stop this.

Speaker 64700.82s - 4702.64s

But it's just not going to be just to run.

Speaker 84702.64s - 4703.12s

Yeah.

Speaker 04703.74s - 4706.18s

I think Penny PERSON fits nicely, though,

Speaker 84706.3s - 4706.98s

into the group.

Speaker 04707.48s - 4710.92s

Especially if you're not counting on them for all the time. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 64711.04s - 4711.64s

If he is.

Speaker 84712.1s - 4712.84s

That's what I was going to say.

Speaker 64712.9s - 4723.36s

Who's actually excited about it, though? Like, has anyone actually said, like, oh, man, we just got Rashad Penny PERSON. That's a game changer. Or have people said, hey, that makes sense. I'd like to see him force Miles Sanders PERSON to win the job.

Speaker 84724.34s - 4725.58s

That's how I am excited.

Speaker 64726.02s - 4728.18s

Yeah, there might have been, you're right, man.

Speaker 84728.18s - 4731.56s

There's probably a couple of fans here that have been like, oh, man, that we might

Speaker 64731.56s - 4732.76s

make the playoffs with Rashad Penn PERSON.

Speaker 84732.82s - 4743.28s

But there's always fans that get excited about moves. I'm excited that he just fits in the room in a way that could make sense.

Speaker 64743.7s - 4748.78s

A guy that you're not going to make the number, you know what I mean, the former first round draft pick. Dude,

Speaker 04748.88s - 4758.44s

that is not going to be, you don't have to count on him being the everyday back. Yeah. You know, it's like I do think he would be a decent, I don't think this is a terrible sign.

Speaker 84758.92s - 4763.1s

He was drafted before the likes of Nick Chubb and Sony Michelle PERSON that year

Speaker 64763.1s - 4765.2s

after they dominated the SEC at Georgia.

Speaker 84765.98s - 4768.1s

That was the same year? That was the same year.

Speaker 64768.22s - 4769.66s

He was the only second,

Speaker 84769.88s - 4775.04s

there was only two running backs chosen in the first round of that draft and it was Sequin Barkley and Rashad Penny PERSON.

Speaker 64775.48s - 4777.64s

Is Sony Michelle PERSON what ruined the

Speaker 84777.64s - 4778.18s

Belvedicke PERSON?

Speaker 64778.44s - 4779.98s

Wow, I didn't even realize that

Speaker 84779.98s - 4781.34s

until you said that is true.

Speaker 64781.82s - 4783.68s

In 2018, he was

Speaker 34783.68s - 4785.92s

the first round, the second round to the and if you look at, man, and I posted these stats the other 2018, it was in the second round to the brunt.

Speaker 64785.92s - 4816.14s

And if you look at, man, and I posted these stats the other day, you look at the career breakaway running percentage for the guys that are looking at competing for that job, right? Chuba, Miles Sanders, and Penny PERSON. Chuba's like a career 21 and a half percent breakaway runner.Miles Sanders is a career 28.3, but last year he was 21 and a half here in Carolina ORG. So that's a relatively similar skill set like we were talking about. Like they are not home run hitters. Rashad Penny is 49.7% of his career rushes have gone for 15 yards or more.

Speaker 34816.78s - 4820.76s

He is a breakaway runner. He has some crazy numbers.

Speaker 64821.36s - 4826.24s

And if he's only going to get 50 touches, 75 touches, all you need is seven of

Speaker 34826.24s - 4852.4s

them to go for touchdowns or for 30 yards. And Tony PERSON makes fun of me for this, but this is why I say to me, this running back room is perfect because we don't have the bell cow. We have a bunch of guys that have different skill sets that can be complementary of one another. And if our O line does its job, I'm happy with any of these guys being able to eat behind our line, even Sanders PERSON. Yeah.

Speaker 64852.58s - 4857.7s

I think Jonathan Brooks PERSON is a bell cow. I think that once he's healthy, I think he's a three down back. A, he's a terrific past.

Speaker 34858.02s - 4860.84s

He's a terrific past protector. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 64861.3s - 4906.96s

He's terrific at past protection. He's got the best hands of anybody in the room immediately, the minute that he puts his cleats on and puts a process blue jersey on for practice, he's immediately your best receiving threat out of the back and your best pass protector. He also has a lot more wiggle and vision. He may not have the breakaway speed.I look at him almost as a poor man's Edger and James, to be honest. He can do a lot of the things that Edger and James did. He just doesn't have the 4-3-9 speed that Edger and James had. But you look at contact balance, you look at vision, you look at the ability to take a screen past 70 yards. Even if it's not for a touchdown,he will make four or five guys miss and get the most yardage that he can. That's a very similar play style, in my opinion, just not the elite version that

Speaker 84906.96s - 4918.08s

Edron James was. Edron James was an all. That's the one of the last all around backs. Yeah. But you know what I'm saying? There's a guy that's out there every down.

Speaker 64918.74s - 4922.78s

And look, you look at the statistical comparison between Jonathan Brooks and Bejan Robinson PERSON.

Speaker 84923.04s - 4947.38s

It's pretty remarkable too, man. Oh, we know. G. Baby has let us know. In fact, that is the question is if Brooks PERSON wouldn't have had that injury, would he have been a first rounder? Yeah. It's possible, man. All right. What else you want to talk about, Cody? I got some whatever, whatever. Hey, You really are dejected, aren't you?

Speaker 94947.38s - 4950.96s

No, my life, my personal life is falling apart, but it's not.

Speaker 84951.08s - 4952.72s

But what else we're going to talk about?

Speaker 94953s - 4957.58s

I mean, dude, other than running back, really nothing,

Speaker 64957.78s - 4959.74s

we were doing some more bubble players.

Speaker 34960.88s - 4965.98s

I don't know. Is that me, forget position. Is there any other bubble player that comes to mind?

Speaker 84965.98s - 4970.2s

How about Barno PERSON? Let's talk about like guys like Barno PERSON.

Speaker 64971.64s - 4972.86s

Um, there's a couple of more.

Speaker 84973s - 4976.7s

Eku Leota, like the guy that popped up as an undrafted free agent last season.

Speaker 64976.84s - 4980.94s

Like, everybody really raved about him in the offseason last year.

Speaker 34981.58s - 4982.68s

I'm a big ecu fan.

Speaker 84982.96s - 4984.54s

I saw him in training camp.

Speaker 34984.6s - 4985.06s

I saw him. I watched a lot of his Auburn ORG tape. I watched some of his stuffw fan. I saw him in training camp. I saw him.

Speaker 64985.32s - 4985.9s

I watched a lot

Speaker 34985.9s - 4986.42s

of his Auburn

Speaker 64986.42s - 5000.22s

tape. I watched some of his stuff at, or is he Kansas Statebefore then, before he transferred. I mean, he's a good ball player. He's got serious chops. It's just, you know, a developmental thing again. Well,

Speaker 35000.28s - 5001.34s

how about this? Here's a question.

Speaker 65001.84s - 5004.12s

Who are we expecting more from this year?

Speaker 35004.74s - 5011.24s

Calebon Chase on or Amarabarned ORG? Man.

Speaker 65012.44s - 5014.86s

That's a filthy question, Cody.

Speaker 35014.86s - 5021.22s

Yeah, if you look up the numbers for Caleb-Ban-Shay-San PERSON, he has not been very impressive.

Speaker 65021.86s - 5024.16s

So to me, a bit impressive, bro.

Speaker 35024.8s - 5028.16s

Yeah, he is. He is somebody that could be cut,

Speaker 65028.4s - 5033.52s

like that could might not even make the roster if he doesn't show some kind of

Speaker 35033.52s - 5034.04s

flash.

Speaker 95034.36s - 5035.54s

He didn't get a large contract.

Speaker 35035.78s - 5035.96s

I mean,

Speaker 95036.06s - 5039.66s

that's a very easy contract to just throw to the side.

Speaker 65039.66s - 5042.82s

That was a little bit telling to me when they signed that, right?

Speaker 95044.22s - 5045.58s

They want to see him in camp.

Speaker 65045.78s - 5046.88s

They want to see him in preseason.

Speaker 95046.98s - 5049.22s

They want to see if he has anything that he didn't show.

Speaker 65049.78s - 5077.06s

I would be more surprised to see him play a significant role on this team, let alone make it, that I would be to not see him on the team, if that makes sense. Amari Barnau PERSON is a guy I feel very similar about, though, to be completely honest, man. He's a sixth round pick. Like sometimes as fans, we also have to understand that when these guys are taken that late or when they don't show anything for years after being taken that late, they're notgiven the grace just because we like their RAS score.

Speaker 05077.64s - 5092.14s

Like coaches are looking at them and they're saying, what can you do for me? What do you provide? Exactly. Now, Barno, I think, does have a little bit more value on special teams than Chase on. I could see him contributing a little bit more in that regard. But, man, I have a hard time

Speaker 65092.14s - 5096.86s

seeing either of them being significant contributors, let alone making the 53 man roster.

Speaker 55097.24s - 5113.76s

Do you think that Barno PERSON has been impacted by a lack of opportunity, though? I mean, I know that he has seen the field, but even with, I know that he has seen the field, but even with the limited action that he has seen the field, you're right, he hasn't, he hasn't shined, but there have been, as somebody mentioned in the chat,

Speaker 65114.8s - 5177.5s

there has been some flashes. Sure. Well, my argument to that always is, and it's a good question, man, I think it's totally fair, right, to wonder about, like,is it a lack of opportunity or is it a lack of production? But whether you have a situation like last year, where it was a one-man circus as far as a pass rusher, and you have Amory Barnau PERSON who's supposed to have a true pass-rushing skill set and the length in the physical attributes to be a good pass-rusher, why didn't he crack that rotation to get those opportunities? Because those opportunities are earned. They're not just like handed out because you haven't had a chance, right? Like I coach my son's flag football team, but it's for four through seven year olds. Everyone has to play and everyone has to play every position. I have to rotate those kids. The NFL ORG isn't that. This coach isn't given a directive of saying, hey, you got to make sure that you know, number four over there gets in at least three or four snaps a game. These guys earn it. And if Barno PERSON's not earning that against the likes of Iku Leota PERSON and DJ Johnson last year, thattells me more about Amari Barno than it does about those other guys.

Speaker 55179.1s - 5181.88s

It seems like he should fit in this system.

Speaker 85183.9s - 5188.9s

You know, kind of long the outside line, you know, the stand-up edge.

Speaker 55189.28s - 5197.3s

He just, Evereaux has such an emphasis on setting the edge and run defense from that secondary, second line of defense.

Speaker 65197.9s - 5200.8s

And I don't know that he's terrific at that.

Speaker 85201.28s - 5204.44s

So that's where I think that E.J. PERSON probably just has some trust issues.

Speaker 55204.44s - 5207.54s

And that's why the, the Chase- on signing was so interesting to me too,

Speaker 85207.62s - 5208.5s

because man,

Speaker 65208.52s - 5209.86s

he gets run over out there.

Speaker 55210.1s - 5210.64s

You know what I mean?

Speaker 75210.82s - 5213.26s

Like that dude's got a slight bottom half to him,

Speaker 55213.26s - 5213.46s

man.

Speaker 65213.56s - 5215.62s

Yeah, he's been a real disappointment.

Speaker 35216.06s - 5218.06s

Yeah, he's not a very big guy.

Speaker 15218.38s - 5218.66s

Listen,

Speaker 35218.82s - 5221.62s

I've said that this year,

Speaker 85222.18s - 5223.16s

in 2024,

Speaker 65223.32s - 5227.38s

the Carolina Panthers only have one objective, only one.

Speaker 35227.76s - 5229.84s

And that's to evaluate Bryce Young PERSON.

Speaker 85230.58s - 5236.64s

So to me, like, as this isn't a great answer, but I almost don't even care.

Speaker 65237.46s - 5240.84s

Not that I don't care, but I don't expect anything from this defense.

Speaker 35241.44s - 5243.44s

I don't think that we're going to have a good patch.

Speaker 95243.44s - 5299.8s

I don't think that we're going to have a good pass. I don't think that we're going to have a good pass rush this year. I like the Judevian PERSON clowning signing, but I also see the fact that he, he's leaving the Baltimore Ravens ORG, who have one of the better D-lines and all of football. So I don't think he's going to be the same,Jadavion Clowny PERSON. I agree with you. I don't know what DJ won him is really going to be like here in Carolina ORG. And the rest of it is just a lot of question marks on top of the question marks that we already alluded to at the cornerback position. But yet, through all of it, I don't really even care because I'm not expecting much from 2024. The only thing I need to see this yearis an offense that shows a sign of life. I need to see something from this offense. And if this defense is at least able to keep us hanging around, then to me that's a majorvictory. Well, I

Speaker 65299.8s - 5368.82s

think that their emphasis on run support on defense, right? Because a lot of these moves that they made are clearly to shore up that run defense because we were just obliterated in that regard last year. That also plays into the Bryce Young PERSON evaluation, in my opinion. Because if Bryce PERSON is consistently having to play from behind and he can't get into any kindof an offensive rhythm and actually, he talks about wanting to do play action, right, and marrying that from the run game well you can't you can't commit to the run game and effectively run play actions if you're down by 21 in the second quarter and and with you know three or 14 minutes essentially left to play you're going to have to completely change your offensive approach so you're not going to get a real evaluation of what brys Young can do in a true game situation if the defense is absolutely porous. So I think that they're trying to shore up that run defense to do exactly what you're asking for, Cody, and that's to keep them close in games. And then you're trusting Everson's proclivity at coming up with a good secondary game plan to be able to answer for maybe some of the shortcomings in the personnel department there. So they add in Josie Jewel PERSON.

Speaker 95368.9s - 5380.72s

They add in A. Sean Robinson PERSON, right? And they say, hey, look, we're going to solidify the middle of that defense. Okay. That makes some decent sense to me. I want to see what Shy Tuttle does this year.

Speaker 65380.88s - 5392.96s

I've got a huge question mark about him still being the nose tackle. That feels very uncomfortable for me personally. I don't love that still. A. Sean Robinson, I think, is going to play five technique or three technique. He's not going to be in there playing zero.

Speaker 35393.24s - 5406.18s

What do you think about Cromarty PERSON? I mean, seeing his film, I think obviously he's a later round pick. But you see why they like him. The dude is strong and aggressive, and

Speaker 65406.18s - 5430.62s

I think that maybe they might be looking for him to play some nose. Maybe. I think that he lacks a little bit of that girth to play nose and to handle the double teams and to occupy two blockers, but I think that he does offer a tad of that vertical pass rush from the interior, which I think is a point where we needed to improve as well. But look, that's a six round pick. That's a good flyer, right? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 35430.66s - 5433.36s

I mean, yeah, that's pretty much what I'm saying, man.

Speaker 85433.72s - 5435.7s

Want to give a quick update.

Speaker 35435.7s - 5442.82s

The Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers ORG are in overtime. Oh, damn. Tied up 3-3 right now.

Speaker 85444.06s - 5449.64s

Man, the canes really need to not go back home down to games.

Speaker 75450.02s - 5450.26s

Yep.

Speaker 85452.3s - 5452.78s

Cody,

Speaker 35453.54s - 5466.28s

sorry, I got some crap that I got to deal with. But so whatever, like, we got to do some ice up picks. I think we're taking all the calls. Ricky PERSON, I'm sorry. Well, thank you A for coming on and hanging out, number one.

Speaker 65466.36s - 5467.86s

No worries, ma'am. Two,

Speaker 85468.06s - 5508.52s

this is actually the first time we haven't made you stay till your eyelids just fell asleep on their own. We do one final segment, and so you can think about this as we do it, is it's our homage to Steve Smith PERSON,where we tell someone to ice up toughen up to get it together. Anyone is fair game. This is where we can go outside of football or stay in football. Let's ice up, Cody. Let's ice up.

Speaker 95509.44s - 5509.62s

Ice up, son.

Speaker 75515.74s - 5515.98s

Ice up, son. It's our homage to Steve Smith PERSON, where we tell someone to ice up,

Speaker 85519.78s - 5520.74s

toughen up, get it together. Cody, do you got like seven for us tonight?

Speaker 35521.9s - 5522.12s

No, I have one.

Speaker 85524.56s - 5535.54s

Okay. Well, you go first because I don't even have a good one i hope that this is the one i thought it was yeah okay um usually no listen uh ricky if uh if you've been on

Speaker 35535.54s - 5541.74s

here for any length of time i like to show videos of people on motorcycles uh just doing stupid

Speaker 95541.74s - 5546.68s

shit and i like to tell people on motorcycles uh to ice up uh especially when they do a really stupid shit. And I like to tell people on motorcycles to ice up,

Speaker 35546.74s - 5549.82s

especially when they do a really stupid shit, and when they

Speaker 05549.82s - 5552.42s

actually need to ice up.

Speaker 95552.98s - 5553.94s

And, uh, yeah,

Speaker 35553.94s - 5557.48s

I don't want you to ask. Literally.

Speaker 95559.62s - 5562s

Oh, God. Oh.

Speaker 85562s - 5563.76s

Oh. Oh.

Speaker 95566.64s - 5566.72s

Oh my God. His ass. Dude. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God.

Speaker 85567.96s - 5568.08s

His ass is on the road.

Speaker 95568.88s - 5569s

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 85570s - 5570.32s

Still up.

Speaker 35572.64s - 5574.4s

But you see the way he lands on the road.

Speaker 95577.6s - 5578.32s

He's one of those motorcycle pants, bro.

Speaker 35582.3s - 5582.38s

You know, they make pants that can survive, like, survive that.

Speaker 85583.14s - 5583.5s

He didn't have them.

Speaker 35587.88s - 5588.38s

He started riding that motorcycle as a guy and finished it as a bad boom.

Speaker 85589.76s - 5591.2s

Yeah, that's a bad boom.

Speaker 95593.22s - 5593.96s

See, Kay, do you got an ice up for us tonight?

Speaker 85596.24s - 5596.42s

It's just these F around and find out.

Speaker 95598.6s - 5598.96s

It's, I don't have anything in particular.

Speaker 65600.48s - 5600.68s

I'm, let's just, yeah, we'll keep it.

Speaker 95601.88s - 5602.62s

Get out of air a little earlier.

Speaker 65603.06s - 5603.36s

All right.

Speaker 55604.54s - 5605.56s

Ricky PERSON, you got one for me?

Speaker 65606.96s - 5607.08s

I don't really think so, man.

Speaker 85609.12s - 5609.24s

You know, if I had to pick an ice up,

Speaker 55613.92s - 5614.04s

I would just say to anyone that's still upset about the draft picks, right?

Speaker 65615.6s - 5615.86s

Like they're over and done with, man.

Speaker 55617.64s - 5617.7s

They're on the Carolina Panthers ORG now at this point,

Speaker 65619.56s - 5619.62s

whether you like the prospects coming in or not,

Speaker 55622.16s - 5623.68s

whether you think that we overpick to get some of the guys or miss some of the guys you love.

Speaker 85624.16s - 5625.52s

It doesn't really matter at this point, man.

Speaker 55625.52s - 5628.24s

We can all agree that we didn't get every single person we wanted.

Speaker 85628.66s - 5629.88s

They're Carolina Panthers ORG now.

Speaker 55630.04s - 5631.22s

We're about to go into the season.

Speaker 85631.84s - 5636.38s

Find some sort of happiness to grab onto and try to be optimistic about this shit show

Speaker 65636.38s - 5641.72s

because last year sucked, man, and it can only go up, right? Technically, no, I know.

Speaker 95641.72s - 5642.08s

I know.

Speaker 65642.08s - 5642.72s

I know.

Speaker 85642.72s - 5645.74s

I said that shit with Matt Rule PERSON. I know. I ate. I hope so. I said that shit with Matt Rule.

Speaker 95645.88s - 5646.18s

I know.

Speaker 85646.5s - 5647.8s

A. My words.

Speaker 65647.96s - 5650.72s

I heard it when I said it, man. I was just trying to bring a little bit of like that.

Speaker 85650.72s - 5658.92s

Yeah. It's hard to go lower. I mean, I will say this. The floor is low. Yeah. There's not much more. I mean, we're in the basement. Yeah. Oh,

Speaker 35658.98s - 5661.92s

by the way, shout out to JJ for the 199. Yeah.

Speaker 85662s - 5663.72s

Thank you. The longest running a Panthers ORG pod.

Speaker 35664.28s - 5671.74s

My ice up goes to Jamal Murray PERSON for having a temper tantrum and throwing a heating pack or whatever it is on the court.

Speaker 85672.04s - 5673.08s

Maybe it was an ice pack.

Speaker 65673.66s - 5675.22s

Yeah, I mean, but guess what?

Speaker 85675.3s - 5676.42s

He's getting iced up.

Speaker 65676.5s - 5677.84s

He needs one right now.

Speaker 85677.96s - 5679.1s

But, I mean, just come on.

Speaker 65679.14s - 5679.84s

You're a pro.

Speaker 85680.72s - 5687.2s

Speaker 65687.52s - 5690.3s

And I don't like the NBA ORG a lot. I don't care a lot about it.

Speaker 85690.36s - 5707.56s

The NBA ORG playoffs are the worst playoffs in all of the in all of sports. Hockey is the best out of all of them. Football is king. Basketball, man, they're going to be playing basketball for another two months still, it feels like.

Speaker 65707.64s - 5709.66s

You know, they only hit them with $100,000 fine.

Speaker 85709.78s - 5711.46s

That's it. They didn't suspend them.

Speaker 75711.58s - 5712.12s

That's cool.

Speaker 85712.52s - 5722.32s

Speaker 85729.64s - 5731.64s

They used to shoot people in the 90s.

Speaker 35731.64s - 5737.86s

Yeah, but what the fuck did you think was going to happen in a hip-hop beef? Like, there was never going to be shit friendly about it.

Speaker 85738.1s - 5750.82s

Now they realize they don't want it once they see what it actually starts to look like. So it could be in hypocrites. Dude, in the 90s, people actually killed people over Beaves PRODUCT. This is,

Speaker 35751.42s - 5762.52s

and I can I just say as a hip hop fan, this has been a fucking crazy weekend, dude. Like, every single night, there's a brand new disc track coming out.

Speaker 05762.68s - 5764.66s

Speaker 85780.22s - 5805.94s

And, you know, her and her friends have been talking about it or whatever. And I said, all right, let's set, like, let's listen. Because I'm an old man. I mean, I still listen the same rap I listened to in 2000. Oh, yeah. I mean, I still listen to the same rap I listened to in 2000.

Speaker 85846.3s - 5847.78s

But I said, all right,

Speaker 65847.9s - 5851.88s

right, right, right, right, right,

Speaker 75851.88s - 5874.36s

they love to be like, let me take over the spot, you know, the phone. As soon as they get in, they're like, let me hook it up.
