Speaker 133.38s - 117.78s
Travis Ryer, senior analyst for BOL alongside Tim Watts, site publisher for Bammaonline.com ORG. It is a Wednesday, May the 8th, and we've got a lot to get into Tim Watts PERSON. We're going to talk some portal as it relates to Alabama GPE coming up a little bit later in the program. We'll also, as we always do, have our roundtable mailbag for you to wrap things up a little bit later. We're going to talk some early football lines for the Alabama Crimson Tide where the 2024 season is related. Big news for Nate Oates on the scheduling front here in the last 24 hours. We'll talk about that as well. And Tim PERSON, what we're going to start with, though, and I know this sport is near and dear to your heart. Gough. Let's talk some gaff, Tim Watts PERSON. Regents tradition at Greystone Golf and Country Club there in the Birmingham GPE area. You've got two Alabama football coaches out there this morning. addition at Greystone Golf and Country Club there in the Birmingham GPE area. You've got two Alabama football coaches out there this morning. You've got Nick Saban, hasn't given up that spot at the regions. And then Kalin DeBoer, who thanks to our Charlie Potter, the intrepid one, Charlie Potter out there at Greystone this morning, he just tweeted out or exed out, whatever it is, some video of Kalin DeBoer PERSON loosening up for his round. And lo and behold, Tim Watts PERSON, it looks like Kalen DeBoer is Team Cargo ORG shorts too.I kind of knew that, right?
Speaker 2117.78s - 121.06s
I knew that like you're in Seattle GPE, you won't comfort,
Speaker 1121.18s - 129.24s
you're walking around, going to a Pearl Jam ORG concert. Yeah. Gotta keep your gummy somewhere, oh you need those your edibles
Speaker 3129.24s - 132.12s
come I'm telling you it's going to take it you're going to be the one standing there
Speaker 0132.12s - 136.28s
with a bunch of 20-something year olds not wearing them
Speaker 1136.28s - 140.1s
you know and I keep taking Ls on the cargo shorts because
Speaker 2140.1s - 143.24s
you know I'm a dead and company fan and there's John Mayer
Speaker 1143.24s - 145.14s
there's Bobby Weir PERSON wearing
Speaker 2145.14s - 151.08s
cargoes on stage it just seems like it's one L after another for team cargo
Speaker 1151.08s - 155.62s
anti-cargo from that perspective they're always coming back to the thing they might
Speaker 2155.62s - 160.46s
be briefly not in but they're coming back yeah you just got to consistently sit
Speaker 1160.46s - 164.72s
with timeless timeless with the cargo still one of the mess move still one of the best
Speaker 2164.72s - 166.28s
movie lines was the
Speaker 1166.28s - 170.32s
dude was wearing cargo shorts and he said, we're not in Nam GPE anymore.
Speaker 2170.74s - 173.94s
That was a, that was a Jonah PERSON guy, I think, said that,
Speaker 1174.02s - 175.06s
which was hilarious.
Speaker 2175.62s - 179.74s
Oh, Keith Greiner PERSON checking in with a big roll side.
Speaker 0179.74s - 181.38s
And of course, our pal Bob PERSON.
Speaker 1182.02s - 189.86s
Does it message go? Bob's always there for us. He is a staple of the programs here on the YouTube Home for Bam ORG online.com.
Speaker 0189.86s - 199.4s
But yeah, you got Kalyn DeBoer PERSON out there at the regions. You got Nick Saban PERSON out there at the regions. Of course, Kirby Smart is out there, Georgia ORG head coach.
Speaker 2199.4s - 203.48s
So what do you do if Nick Saban PERSON shows up in cargo shorts one day? Oh, I'm done.
Speaker 1203.9s - 204.74s
It's over, right?
Speaker 2205.86s - 208.02s
I still have the goat. I don't see that. I still have
Speaker 1208.02s - 209.54s
the goat, you know.
Speaker 2209.82s - 212s
I still have them in my corner. So what was this
Speaker 1212s - 214.02s
event for? It's the annual
Speaker 2214.02s - 216.04s
region's tradition. It's part of the PGA
Speaker 1216.04s - 219.82s
tour champions, champions tour, the senior tour,
Speaker 2219.96s - 257s
so to speak, that they have every year on that tour. And it's always a big deal for the celebrity pro am on Wednesdays. I seem to recall it being a bigger field of celebrities maybe in some past years. But still, a lot of star power. You've got some former Alabama stars and Greg McElroy, Roman Harper PERSON playing,Charles Barkley playing in that same group with those guys coming up this morning. So it's always a lot of fun, always kind of a who's who event in the Birmingham area for the region's tradition, a major championship on the PGA ORG tour champions.
Speaker 1257.2s - 305.72s
So we note that as we move into the program here on a Wednesday. And what we also want to talk about, Tim PERSON, from a football perspective, seeing those early football lines for the 20, 24 season. And as they relate to the Alabama Crimson Tide ORG, as far as marquee games are concerned, all right? What we're going to talk about is the Wisconsin ORG's on the schedule and some of the premier SEC ORG games on the schedule and some of the premier SEC games on the schedule. And with that, what we'll do. And by the way, Tim PERSON, we need a BOL group. Can you make that work for the pro AM out there at the region's tradition? Maybe get us a BOL group that plays in that event, you know, get me, you. I don't know who else on our staff really even tries to play golf. I think Bohn does. I don't know if he plays, staff really even tries to play golf. I think Bone does.
Speaker 2306.36s - 310.24s
I don't know if he plays, but Andrew PERSON will lie about playing. He'll definitely go. Yeah.
Speaker 3310.62s - 315.62s
He'll go chop it up. Andrew's not missing that. I can tell you right now. Joseph PERSON probably thinks he's,
Speaker 2316.18s - 321.36s
you know, he probably thinks he's won one amateur tournament from the Masters EVENT personally.
Speaker 3321.66s - 328.96s
Yeah, and maybe you could get John PERSON Daly as our pro for our group, you know, because they match up one of the pros with the groups. John would be a good one.
Speaker 2329.2s - 334s
Daily ORG would probably be good for our group. Yeah. And that would maybe ensure that we have
Speaker 1334s - 338.5s
some people at least that follow our group. And by the way, if you followed the BOL group,
Speaker 2338.5s - 347.96s
I would strongly encourage headgear, maybe a mouthpiece, face mask for the stray shots that would probably be headed your way.
Speaker 1347.96s - 415.12s
But talking about these opening lines for marquee games in the 2024 college football season, and these are coming from draft kings, Tim PERSON. And what we'll do is we'll start with Wisconsin on the road, week two for the Alabama Crimson ORG side. Alabama in week one, the debut of Kalinen DeBore PERSON will come against the hilltoppers of Western Kentucky in Tuscaloosa GPE. But that trip to Camp Randall to Madison, Wisconsin, Alabama GPE,seven and a half point road favorite right now with the Badgers ORG. And Wisconsin ORG interesting because you've got some storylines already. Tyler Van Dyke now at quarterback for Wisconsin previously of Miami GPE. And of course, a year or so ago, there was a lot of talk about Tyler Van Dyke, potentially being involved with Alabama GPE as a transfer. And then you have Colin Hitchler working with that Alabama GPE secondary coming fromWisconsin ORG previously. So how does that number strike you, a seven and a half point favorite on the road at Wisconsin week two?
Speaker 2415.76s - 459.6s
I think kind of strikes me is that we just don't know yet what Alabama GPE's going to be. I haven't did a deep dive into Wisconsin ORG. I think that's probably about right. I mean, that's a pretty respectful line to go to at Wisconsin ORG with the new coaching staff, with the turnover on the team. Like I said, I haven't dug deep into Wisconsin ORG.I'm not as familiar with them. I like Bama ORG, though. I like Bama ORG to score a lot of points. I always feel that way. I felt that way against Michigan ORG. It didn't work out.Their defense is better than I thought. But I always like the SEC ORG speed when it matches up with some of the teams up north. I feel like there's usually an advantage. And that's why I picked Alabama over Michigan ORG to begin with. But most teams aren't going to be as good defensively as that Michigan team was last year either.
Speaker 1460.16s - 469.16s
Yeah, I like Alabama GPE pretty good laying the seven and a half here to cover that. And for some of the reasons you outlined, I like that the game is in September.
Speaker 0469.74s - 527.04s
I mean, that's going to feel like, that's going to feel like late October to the Alabama GPE team. And you're not playing Wisconsin ORG and the elements up there. And so, yeah, I think that's a favorable week two matchup. I know some folks don't like it before taking on Georgia ORG, but you're going to have the buy week before you see the dogs anyway. And speaking of the George Bulldogs, Tim, Alabama right now on its home field, a four and a half point underdog to Kirby Smart's PERSON team. This is an interesting line, Tim, because even with, especially with Alabama's roster, that it appears it's going to take into the next season, I can't imagine Nick Saban being a four and a half point underdog to Georgia on the home turf there at Bryant-Denny Stadium FAC. This is where I really start to get the sense that that Sabin effect that we've seen in previous years where lines are concerned, not so much in play moving forward with Kalin DeBoer PERSON,at least not early on.
Speaker 2527.74s - 535.92s
Yeah, I don't think it's a bad line. I mean, you got Georgia ORG who's, you know, probably a win against Alabama from likely three peeting, in my opinion.
Speaker 0536.1s - 539.1s
I think they'd have probably been the best of those four teams and had a chance.
Speaker 2539.92s - 543.14s
Coming in, they got their quarterback back, back.
Speaker 3543.14s - 556.36s
I don't know if that sounds right. They got Beck PERSON is back. So that's. I don't know if that sounds right. They got Beck PERSON is back. So that's obviously good. They got some good portal guys, always recruit well. I think four to halves CARDINAL probably, again, saying we're not sure on that.I think it's not a bad matchup.
Speaker 2560.8s - 592.64s
But I do think that in that situation, I would take Alabama GPE with the points. I mean, I think everybody knows what that game means. Home field advantage can mean so much. And Alabama's done well against Georgia ORG. Traditionally, Alabama's done well against Georgia ORG. But obviously, Georgia's coming in, you know, the number one team in the country, I think for many. They're my number one team anyway. So having that game so early, absolutely, one of the reasons I love college sports. Absolutely, that game being having the Super Bowl in October is absolutely why I love sports.
Speaker 1592.64s - 681.16s
Yeah, Alabama, you know, hasn't lost an on-campus game, hasn't lost many games to Georgia, really, since 2007. And that overtime affair in year one under Nick Saban with Mark Rick at the time coaching Georgia in that when Matthew Stafford at quarterback course Alabama GPE paid it back in Athens the following season with the blackout game there at Sanford Stadium FAC but this would be should Georgia win the first onus win versus Alabama since 2007. And I think too, and it's very early. These are very early lines, Vegas GPE trying to generate some early interest. I do think though Vegas without Sabin on the sideline is telling you they're far more comfortable or it is far more comfortable in thinking it will still get plenty of money on uGA even as a four and a half point early road favorite the next line will look at tim alabama PERSON minus two at tennessee that's an interesting line last time alabama went to knoxville uh took a close loss in a highscoring affair i don't know if i like Alabama minus the two, Tim PERSON, but if you could give me maybe that over under, the total points that Vegas GPE might see for this game or put in and stall for this game. I might like the over in this game more than I even like Alabama minus two.
Speaker 2681.78s - 685.04s
Well, it's Bama the year they lost over minus seven. Does that sound right?
Speaker 1685.04s - 689.78s
Something like that. Roughly real touchdown. I actually expected Tennessee ORG to be
Speaker 2689.78s - 734.14s
favorite in this game. I do think it's a fair line. I do think that it was going to hover right around between one or two either way. Also, these games are going to adjust a lot, especially for Bam. Obama's line is going to adjust. I remember one of my most successful betting times ever was when I was on Mahomes and the Chiefs, their first Super Bowl EVENT, and they were just throwing money. And the Chiefs ORG were dogs, like they were like dogs are low favorites till about week seven or eight. I don't think college football takes that long because there's less games. But Alabama's going to be, you know, they could be a one and a half pointfavorite at Georgia, or they could be an eight and a half point dog depending on Wisconsin ORG. They're going to change that. They're going to change that a pretty good bit. And by Tennessee ORG, I think we're certainly going to see that line move one way or the other. Yeah.
Speaker 1734.36s - 837.44s
I mean, you better be really, really certain of how you see a game if you're going to go ahead and get down in, say, early May for a game in late October. Absolutely. That's one of those games, as you said, how things sort of play out between now and then could impact that number greatly. But what we know right now, obviously for Tennessee, high expectations for that Josh Hypole PERSON offense with Nico A. Amaliva stepping in there at the quarterback position. The balls lose some firepower. I really like Jalen Wright PERSON at the running back position. And I'm kind of with you. I actually thought this game and LSU ORG could have been flipped as far as early lines. Now, they're pretty close, relatively speaking, as we'll get down the road here in just a little bit to LSU ORG. But I could see those games sort of on the road, especially going either way. Alabama in October also takes on the Missouri Tigers, a surprising Missouri team from a year ago. Cotton Bowl champs, Tim Watts took out the Ohio State Buckeyes ORG in that bowl game.Brady Cookback at quarterback for Missouri, Luther Burden PERSON, familiar name. He was involved with Alabama GPE during his recruitment, I believe, the wide receiver. Defense coordinator change at Missouri ORG. And that's the biggest improvement. Maybe Mizzou is made over the last couple of years. You've got a couple of key corners gone. And when I think about Mizzou, I kind of think Ole Miss ORG, whenever expectations are elevated, it hasn't always worked out for a team like Missouri ORG. So as I sit here right now, I kind of like Alabamalaying that eight and a half against Missouri ORG at home.
Speaker 2838.22s - 872.28s
Yeah, I think Missouri ORG is a tricky team because last year they had some games that were absolutely just beautiful to watch offensively. Dismandling Tennessee ORG was just one of the craziest things I'd ever seen.A better defense than probably giving credit for, but I would like Alabama GPE there. I do think they're taking the right strides with their NIO. They're getting some of the right players. They're beating big time programs for guys. So they're going in the right direction. Still think they're a, you know, they're a touch away from being, you know, winning is almost a double-digit dog in Tuscaloosa GPE.
Speaker 1872.92s - 945.74s
Yeah, I think points could be a thing in this one because Eli Drinkwitz offensively, you know they're going to be good, especially with some of the pieces they bring back. Again, my bigger concerns from Missouri ORG on the defensive side of ball where they've got changed to the coaching staff and also at some key spots on the back end. Hey, let's talk about LSU, the Tigers right now, early, one point favorites at homeover the Alabama Crimson Tide ORG. I guess that doesn't come as a surprise, even with Daniels off to the NFL ORG, even with neighbors, Brian Thomas Jr. off to the NFL ORG. This LSU ORG team, when you talk about offensive lines and college football should be among the very best, but, you know, I have a little bit of a hard time. This is a classic. I need to see more situation, especially with LSU ORG, because that defense last year, Tim PERSON, was atrocious. And LSU had a couple of their top defensive linemen going the first three or four rounds of the recently completed draft. I guess Bo Davis coming in from Texas GPE, though, maybe provides some comfort.I'm sure it does where that, that defensive line improvement is concerned.
Speaker 2946.42s - 971.98s
Yeah, I mean, LSU ORG, I don't think you can sleep on how much firepower they lost. I mean, you're talking elite, Brian, neighbors, and Jaden Daniels PERSON. I mean, that was the best threesome in college football last year easily, which is saying a lot. We had some, we had Washington ORG with a loaded roster as well, but I don't think you can replace that easily. I think it helps that you have goodtackles. I think their left tackles going to be a guy mentioned
Speaker 0971.98s - 974.28s
in Mox in the top 10, Will Campbell PERSON.
Speaker 3975.54s - 977.64s
But they have to establish the running back,
Speaker 0977.88s - 979.72s
the running game, I think, against Alabama GPE.
Speaker 2979.86s - 1013.28s
And again, if Alabama GPE's in a shootout, you kind of lean towards Kalin DeBore because he's very, you know, offensive-minded. That's going to be his first thing. But I also don't think LSU ORG is going to be. I think they'll have talent. It's just not going to be the same talent yet that they did. So the shootout probably favors Alabama GPE. But again, I mean, it's at Baton Rouge GPE. Again, Bama ORG's done traditionally where not just just with nick saving bama's done well in bad and ruge overall um in fact franchone handed saving quite the loss back in the day that was a
Speaker 01013.28s - 1019.64s
and a ton lashing i don't know what was said but that was before social media whatever had did
Speaker 31019.64s - 1025.28s
franchone PERSON you know upset uh that had made the locker. I can't even imagine what it would be now.
Speaker 01025.28s - 1026.9s
But, yeah, I like Bama ORG.
Speaker 21027.04s - 1042.3s
I still like Bama ORG in that game. And again, you're right. That might be an LSU ORG team that's firing on all cylinders. They might have replaced all that parts because we've seen that. We've seen Alabama GPE replace unlimited talent and then come back in and just plug in play. So, but LSU ORG's got a lot. They have to pick up.
Speaker 11042.36s - 1069.6s
And you like you said, their defense was, you know, porous at best. Oh, I think LSU is going to be fine at quarterback with Garrett Nussmeyer PERSON. It's going to be different. Obviously, he's not going to be as dynamic with his legs as Jaden Daniels PERSON was. But Nussmire PERSON from the pocket, this is a guy that's been around a while now, Kyron Lacey PERSON's stepping in there at the wide receiver position. You know offensively LSU ORG is just going to continue to backfill with quality,
Speaker 01069.68s - 1070.5s
quality guys.
Speaker 31070.5s - 1072.08s
And again, on the defensive side,
Speaker 01072.6s - 1083.6s
Beau Davis PERSON, this is an LSU program with Brian Kelly PERSON, really went to some other SEC ORG schools and took some important pieces away from Missouri and away from Texas GPE.
Speaker 11083.86s - 1119.36s
So revamp defensive staff should lead to improvement for the tigers on that side of the ball. How about Tim PERSON? Alabama, speaking to Dennis Fran PERSONchione, the last time Alabama traveled to Oklahoma, Fran was the head coach. It was 2002. Exciting game in Norman the last time Alabama GPE went out there. Alabama right now as a road favorite by a one and a half point margin over the Sooners.Think about OU, you think about Dylan Gabriel moving on to Oregon ORG, but now you got Jackson Arnold, a former five-star stepping in there behind center.
Speaker 21119.98s - 1120.24s
He's good.
Speaker 31120.24s - 1120.66s
Yeah, I do too.
Speaker 21120.86s - 1141.96s
I guess he is. He kind of reminds me a Nussmeier or even a Connor Weigman PERSON, Texas A&M. But when you think about OU and offensive line concerns there for Arnold PERSON in play, and you're still kind of wondering, right, is Brent Venables really the guy to take Oklahoma into the SEC ORG?
Speaker 11142.26s - 1146.12s
I guess we're going to learn a lot more about that by the time this game rolls around
Speaker 21146.12s - 1169s
in what should be a chilly, chilly environment. This is the year. This is the kind of year that says, okay, he's our guy or maybe, you know, it's not hot seat time, but it's where they start pulling the seat out, getting it up on the plate, the podium for you. So,yeah, I don't know, you know, you kind of see the venables. It's kind of remind you a little bit of the guy coaching the Lions ORG, right?
Speaker 01169.16s - 1170.64s
That defensive guy.
Speaker 31170.72s - 1171.26s
Speaker 01171.62s - 1174.56s
Yeah, we used to call them like meatheads, but I think they're definitely, you know what
Speaker 11174.56s - 1174.82s
I mean?
Speaker 01174.86s - 1177.72s
I think people would say that because they're like run through the wall guys.
Speaker 11177.84s - 1179.42s
Mario Cristobal PERSON kind of fix that.
Speaker 21179.42s - 1180.68s
Yeah, yeah, yeah, those kind of guys.
Speaker 11180.78s - 1189.76s
They're that kind of like, they'll fight you. You know, they'll rip their shirt off and fight their, you know, their players if they need to. I think Venables PERSON has that in them. I think they're going to fight like, they'll fight you. You know, they'll rip their shirt off and fight their, you know, their players if they need to. I think Venables PERSON has that in him. I think they're going to fight hard, but can he muster
Speaker 21189.76s - 1193.98s
up enough offense? You know, that's going to be the thing. Does he know how to coach offense,
Speaker 11194.1s - 1248.18s
which is, I mean, that's the biggest question he's got. Yeah, that, and that's a bigger question with Jeff Levy moving on from Oklahoma ORG as offensive coordinator to Mississippi State as the Bulldogs new head coach. Chase Collins PERSON here in the comments says only one and a half at Oklahoma ORG surprises me. That's a little lower than I would have thought to. Understanding it is early May and Vegas GPE is going to put some kind of line out there. But that game's so deep into the season too, right? So many things can happen. That's a weather game potentially for Alabama GPE. Late November and Norman GPE can be a handful. So some things coming into play there, I believe, that are impacting that situation as well. And then we had the Iron Bowl, Tim PERSON.If I told you, going into year two, a few please. How big a dog is Bama ORG?
Speaker 21248.18s - 1252.24s
because my Auburn ORG guys have told me, they have told
Speaker 11252.24s - 1255s
me it's a, they have told me
Speaker 21255s - 1260s
an ass whoopin's coming. It's not, it's coming, it's coming from the plane.
Speaker 11260.08s - 1264.34s
And baseball in a couple weekends. I mean, they're four and 20, I think. I don't
Speaker 21264.34s - 1265.06s
think that's, I don't think that should.
Speaker 11265.68s - 1275.48s
I don't think the baseball is the one equestrian. I don't know what we. Well, yeah, that's a given. I mean, everybody's taking one from Auburn ORG and equestrian.
Speaker 21275.48s - 1276.26s
Someone's got to explain.
Speaker 11276.44s - 1280.04s
Like, do the horses get NIL ORG money? Yeah.
Speaker 21280.18s - 1281.12s
With the equestrian.
Speaker 11281.42s - 1282.62s
So what is Bama ORG?
Speaker 21283.34s - 1290.1s
Bama is a 15 point early home favorite over the Albin Tigers ORG for the
Speaker 11290.1s - 1291.9s
24 Iron Bowl EVENT.
Speaker 01291.98s - 1292.44s
And that number.
Speaker 31293.18s - 1293.8s
A.U.
Speaker 11293.8s - 1317.44s
fans, even though it's just a number, because I'm sure they weren't anticipating if you said, look, Nick Sabin's going into year two if you freeze. He's going to get this thing right. That bowl loss, though, in Nashville GPE was an abomination. But here the Tigers ORG are.Peyton Thorne PERSON back at quarterback, bringing in some real talent on the outside.
Speaker 21317.56s - 1318.74s
We know that most recently.
Speaker 01319.04s - 1322.3s
Kean Andre Lambert Smith from Penn State transferring to Auburn ORG, but
Speaker 11322.3s - 1326.78s
Auburn's still a 15 point road dog.
Speaker 21326.78s - 1330.86s
They're going to have wide receivers. They're going to have Cam PERSON that the camp.
Speaker 11330.86s - 1335s
Yeah, Cam PERSON, he's going to be a legitimate guy.
Speaker 21335s - 1338.82s
Big time player. Yeah. Yeah, one of the best wide receiver class. I mean, when you're talking
Speaker 11338.82s - 1343.88s
whether Ryan PERSON Williams is one, two, three, or four, as good as we think Ryan is. And it was a
Speaker 21343.88s - 1376.28s
legitimate debate with Jeremiah Smith, who went to Ohio State ORG, some other guys. That's how great the clap? They're going to have wide receivers, but how are they going to get them the ball? Are they going to be able to establish the run, which I still think is important for Hugh freeze. I still think the running, you know, Lane PERSON's teams are better too when he runs, right?Oh, yeah. I think all teams are better, but I think more so than anything. When you can keep them guessing, I think that matters. 15 might seem, I mean, that's about right. You know, I was thinking 13 range probably, close to two touchdowns. And again, that one's got all the time in the world to change.
Speaker 11378.12s - 1404.38s
I'm with you, too, though, on the Auburn ORG run game. I think the expectation is, is that where it, that's really where it's going to start. And then to have the improvement that Auburn ORG should have on the outside, if Peyton Thorne is the guy for this system, this should be the year that we see it. I'm not anticipating sort of a Joe Burrow from 2018 to 2019 situation for Peyton Thorne, but unlike the Lernery PERSON.
Speaker 21404.38s - 1408.1s
He'll have a better chance because of skill guys, you know, so if he's going to ever have a chance,
Speaker 31408.1s - 1411.62s
I mean, you're going to have the guys you need at least at wide out.
Speaker 11411.62s - 1414.2s
But I mean, there's still a lot of questions to answer for Auburn ORG on the
Speaker 21414.2s - 1415s
offensive line.
Speaker 11417.5s - 1424.2s
JT. 83 checking in here says like almost every Iron Bowl EVENT, Bama ORG usually wins big at home. And the game is ultra tight.
Speaker 01424.28s - 1445.88s
It's true. I think Vegas GPE knows that too. And whatever relevance it has because teams change, and especially in this era on an annual basis, it is what it is over the course of time. Trends definitely come into account, no doubt about that, JT83.But I mean, when you look at Auburn ORG, just, you know, I did a little research.
Speaker 11447.9s - 1503.28s
Auburn is a home dog to Oklahoma, a 24 point dog at Georgia, Tim, a 10 point dog at Missouri ORG, and a three and a half point home dog to A&M. So the five marquee games that I saw from Draft Kings with these early lines, Auburn and Underdog in all five of those games, including a couple of them by 10, well, actually three of them by 10 or more. So still a lot to play out on the football field. So take it for what it's worth. Hey, you got some bonus options here too, Tim PERSON. I'm going to throw at you.Jalen Milrow in terms of the Heisman Trophy, currently sits at plus 1,400. That's fourth behind Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck and Dylan Gabriel PERSON. Does that sound about right to you at this point? What is, what's the leader? What's the favorite? What's he? Quinn PERSON is currently Quinn and Carson
Speaker 21503.28s - 1510.06s
Beck. What are they plus? Guy I want to say 900. Yeah. See, I was about to say there's not, I mean, this is
Speaker 31510.06s - 1515.16s
literally a time where if there's a field among quarterbacks, you can bet the field because
Speaker 21515.16s - 1520.5s
those four guys all have the opportunity to win it, but none are even clubby. This is not a situation
Speaker 11520.5s - 1525.52s
where, and I know Caleb Williams didn't win the Heisman, but he's certainly,
Speaker 21525.76s - 1530.96s
he certainly had the resume to win it coming in. I don't think any of these other guys did.
Speaker 11531.06s - 1534.96s
I mean, Caleb PERSON had won, and other guys that were in the discussion had already proven.
Speaker 21535.06s - 1613.74s
I think all these guys that you mentioned have, uh, have something to prove, right? I mean, every one of them. Carson Beck's kind of seen, he's had a similar to career almost to A.J AJ McCarran PERSON, where they're so good, they kind of like call him a game manager when he's obviously, you know, AJ was better than that and Carson Beck PERSON's better than that as well. But that's kind of what he's viewed as. Quinn Ewers PERSON, I mean, I think that if they benched him for Arch Manning today, I think they would rejoice. There'd be more people happythan upset. And of course, Jalen Milro PERSON. You know, we know what Jalen PERSON is. We know what he does the best. We know what his best moments are and they're fantastic. And we know where he's got to work on. And he's had, you know, he's going to have eight months, you know, with Nick Sheridan PERSON. He's going to have eight months with Kailen DeBore PERSON and working with these guys. And to me, kind of, you know, an upgraded wide receiver room. You know, I think that you had germy bernard and you had ryan williams just those two alone upgrade what you had last year as far asroute running and basically being a professional receiver because they take so much pride in their routes and their hands and everything they do so i think they're they're definitely upgraded at the receiver position and the offense you got you got to give credit to the offensive line. I was about to skip that. That's a, that went from a C maybe to, uh, you know, a possible a.
Speaker 11614.3s - 1620.02s
I think Jalen of these five guys has the potential also to be more of the Jaden
Speaker 21620.02s - 1690.4s
Daniels type of splash player. Quinn Ewers isn't going to make Heisman WORK_OF_ART plays with his legs, right? Carson Beck PERSON, same thing. Dylan Gabriel PERSON, same thing. So of these four or five guys, when I think about the potential for Jalen PERSON to not only do it through the air, but also with his legs and sort of have those shining moments, those dynamic plays that we saw so much from Daniels PERSON ayear ago, you know, that could really help him in a race if it comes down to those three or four guys. Yeah, and to me, that's what separated Jaden Daniels PERSON. Because, I mean, if you throw a pass, it's a lot of people involved, pass protection, a wide receiver. But when you run, especially the way Jalen and Jaden PERSON ran, I mean, it's just you. A lot of times you're running to it all, you know, you're running to a defensive line, beating guys in the secondary. So that day, and those plays stand out. And let's be honest, the Heism and winners aren't sitting down, breaking down game film every week. They're watching the same, you know, the same overreaction on Twitter and the, the social media for a lot of it, the highlights. And highlights, if a quarterback pull, tucks and runs, 62 yards, that's always going to be in the highlight.Top 10.
Speaker 11690.48s - 1690.98s
You know what I mean?
Speaker 21691.06s - 1693.32s
It's always going to be, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 11693.92s - 1707.78s
Every 11-yard pass or 22-yard thread and the needle is not going to be seen. But every long run, you know, it's going to be, it's like the, it's almost like the, it's almost like a dunk in the NBA ORG. Yeah, I like the value right now with Jalen at plus 1,400.
Speaker 21708.42s - 1716.28s
Speaking of plus 1,400, that's where Alabama sits in terms of odds to win the national championship for the upcoming season.
Speaker 11716.28s - 1737.46s
That's tied for 5th 10 behind Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and Oregon, the Crimson Tide tied with LSU in that slot at plus 1,400. Regular season wins for Alabama GPE. Nine and a half is you're over or under, and the current money looks like it is more so, Tim PERSON, on under the nine and a half.
Speaker 21737.54s - 1773.92s
So maybe nine and three, something like that. That schedule is unbelievable. I mean, that's a schedule. It doesn't matter who's coaching or what roster you have. That is a schedule. When you look at the road games, you're mixing in new teams, everything you're going with. I can see three losses. Another reason that Iron Bowl EVENT could mean everything, you know, too, if you're not in the 12-team playoffs. But also, Bama loses the right three teams. They might still be under consideration because if you have three losses andthey're all the teams in the playoffs, I think that's going to factor in. I mean, 12 is a lot of teams to try to figure out who's actually good.
Speaker 11774.72s - 1837.94s
Yeah, it is no doubt about that. And, uh, you know, what else is going to be good? How about Bama hoops in this latest news, Tim, with the scheduling offering that Nate Oates PERSON is once again going to offer up for one of his teams. And Viva Las Vegas for Bama Hoops, as it appears according to CBS Sports ORG, the Crimson Tide will participate in a groundbreaking event. The Players' Era Festival Thanksgiving week coming up in late November and an event, Tim PERSON, that will include a $1 million payout for the eight participating schools. According to CBS Sports, the Crimson Side is one of those along with Houston, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego State ORG, and Texas A&M. Boy, if you're Yay, Alabama, you have to like that set up with the $1 million payout. And that's just to start. I believe there's going to be even more funds available depending on where you finish.
Speaker 21838.08s - 1839.44s
Yeah, you win it. You get another million?
Speaker 11839.96s - 1842.06s
Yeah, I thought the winner's got a little boost there.
Speaker 21842.44s - 1864.26s
That'll be an interesting game. I wouldn't mind seeing Bama Rutgers ORG. Ruckers signed, I think, two McDonald's All-Americans are two five stars. Obviously, Cliffs coming from Rutgers to Alabama GPE. That'd be a good matchup. I'd be excited.I mean, I even like the name of it. It sounds like it's the right name for us to go to Vegas GPE. I might have to dust off my Vegas GPE cargoes.
Speaker 11864.82s - 1867.3s
Oh, the special ones. You remember when I was
Speaker 21867.3s - 1873.14s
running rival's hoops with me, you know, the two-man band, me and Travis PERSON Ryer, Travis would have months
Speaker 11873.14s - 1879s
where I was like on the road with hoops. Luckily, the calendar was different. So I didn't put old
Speaker 01879s - 1884.8s
trab to too much trouble. But we did. We did. Oh, Travis PERSON had to man the fort so I got to the
Speaker 21884.8s - 1892.44s
hotel when Mike Price got fired while I was driving. That we did. We did. Oh, Travis PERSON had to man the fort so I got to the hotel when Mike Price PERSON got fired while I was driving. That was back in the days that the text were like, come through like the wire.
Speaker 11892.76s - 1893.06s
Yeah.
Speaker 21893.18s - 1894.68s
What's he thinking? Well,
Speaker 11894.78s - 1898.88s
we had that nextel messaging, you know,
Speaker 21898.92s - 1928.46s
I finally was like, what are they talking about? He said, Price PERSON fired. And I said, what?Like, what did Hillary? What's he talking about? I pulled over and said, what? They said, Price PERSON fired. And I said, what? Like, what was he talking about? I pulled over and said, what? They said, he got fired. And then the story. I'm like, are you messing with me? Like, the whole like, don't tell me,this is the whole story. But yeah, this haven't been to Vegas GPE since back in those. I took Heather PERSON once. So we did go to a grant. We did go to Vegas one time. So maybe we have to dust them off and go me and Tim and Travis PERSON.
Speaker 11928.46s - 1933.66s
That's that nonstop to Vegas GPE. Yeah, let's do it. I'm down, man. Do you let me know? Absolutely.
Speaker 21933.86s - 1938.42s
We'll work the Iron Bowl into that too somehow from Vegas GPE. We can't take Joseph PERSON.
Speaker 11938.72s - 1945.16s
There's no way he doesn't end up on the roof. Joseph PERSON, yeah, it would be like the hangover, right? Joseph PERSON would be the guy hangover, right?
Speaker 21948.22s - 1949.78s
Justin would be the guy taking all those things they hand to you. Joe PERSON would come back without a tooth.
Speaker 11950.14s - 1950.26s
Yeah.
Speaker 21950.44s - 1950.7s
Yeah.
Speaker 11951.04s - 1954.88s
Just would be that guy taking all those things they hand you two for one for $20.
Speaker 21955.44s - 1957.48s
We just to be grabbing them all collecting them.
Speaker 11957.48s - 1959.9s
We can't corrupt young Joseph PERSON. We can't do that to Joe PERSON.
Speaker 21959.9s - 1966.86s
We can't do that to him. We got to keep him pure as the driven snow. But that'd be a heck. I mean, you're talking. The Bama ORG hits just have kept coming.
Speaker 11968.82s - 1974.82s
From the final four, you know, from the sweet 16 on beating a number one seed.
Speaker 21974.82s - 1990.04s
It has been nothing but positive vibes from whether it was recruiting, whether it was coaching. You know, there's been so much going on. We haven't really even discussed. And I think it's still in the, in the beginning phase is who the, who the other assistant coach is going to be. Yeah.
Speaker 31990.14s - 1994.28s
There's been so much going on because recruiting is going on. The news they're traveling to Vegas GPE.
Speaker 11995.54s - 1998.58s
You know, the whole, the whole shebang.
Speaker 21999s - 2000.92s
Have you already been hit with this one by the way?
Speaker 12001s - 2004.68s
How is Nate PERSON going to keep this loaded roster?
Speaker 22004.84s - 2005.9s
Yeah. Oh, yeah. How many times already have you been hit with that? How is Nate PERSON going to keep this loaded roster? Assuming Mark Sears
Speaker 12005.9s - 2007.98s
how many times already
Speaker 22007.98s - 2010.08s
have you been hit with that? How is he going to
Speaker 12010.08s - 2011.64s
keep all these guys happy? Tim PERSON.
Speaker 22011.74s - 2014.02s
You know, there's not, I agree. There's, it's a question.
Speaker 12014.36s - 2018.18s
But the one thing about it, I feel comfortable with when you have a coach
Speaker 22018.18s - 2033.56s
like Nate Oates PERSON, and there's other ones, I'm obviously using the Alabama GPE example, but I think Nate Oates PERSON can stand in the pocket with his decisions. I think that's the one thing about him is he wants to win. So there's no politics being played.
Speaker 32033.86s - 2034.94s
I want to win.
Speaker 02035.4s - 2036.12s
Yeah.
Speaker 32036.32s - 2037.72s
Is this the place for you?
Speaker 02037.78s - 2039.16s
Because this is how we do things.
Speaker 22040.5s - 2052s
So I feel confident that he can't make that decision. There's no doubt he's going to have, you know, there's scenarios. You can lay out almost any going to have, you know, there's scenarios. You can lay out almost any scenario to me, honestly. You could lay out almost any scenario to me and I can say that's a good lineup.
Speaker 12053.08s - 2055.88s
The only way you could, the only thing you could do is go with five guards.
Speaker 02055.98s - 2058s
And I'm not even sure five guards is a terrible lineup.
Speaker 12058.18s - 2064.54s
And if there's a tiebreaker, if there's a tiebreaker, it's going to go back to defense every time.
Speaker 22064.7s - 2096.76s
That's what some of these guys, if they haven't already realized it, that's what they're going to figure out too, right? Yeah. And I tell you, I think it helps. I mean, you know, I think seeing the defense does matter. You saw it in their run to get to the Final Four EVENT. And you see it in the NBA ORG playoffs.I think when you watch, you know, when you watch those things, if you're watching the NBA ORG, you're seeing the playoffs. If you're watching the Final Four team, you're seeing playoff. If you, you know, if you saw Yukon, you know, they you watch those things, if you're watching the NBA, you're seeing the playoffs. If you're watching the final 14, you're seeing playoff. If you, you know, if you saw Yukon GPE, you know, they're playing defense. So I think that, yeah, you're going to play defense if you get out here. It's great. You can shoot, but look at my bench.Yeah.
Speaker 12097.14s - 2099.98s
Everybody basically can shoot, you know.
Speaker 22100.72s - 2105.04s
I think that's the real luxury that Nate PERSON's going to have with all this is that
Speaker 12105.04s - 2112.34s
regardless, he's going to be able, he should be able to put his best total lineup on the four on a consistent basis.
Speaker 22112.6s - 2113.64s
And it might be different.
Speaker 12113.84s - 2121.44s
It might be different. Yeah, it might be different night in and night out. You know, I think that he could look for match up problems. We saw him make adjustments during the year.
Speaker 22122.06s - 2154.94s
Ryland PERSON was coming off the bench all of a sudden. We saw a different rotation. Just the NCAA ORG tournament alone saw how many guys come out of the blue to have a game basically of their lifetime to help Alabama get to that final four. I mean, we saw, you know, we saw Jaron, we saw Mo, you know, just out of the blue. Grant PERSON at the time just broke out in a big kind of way. So I think you're going to see more of that. Sometimes it's just going to be a certain player's night, kind of from the role players. But if a guy like Mark Sears PERSON is back, it's going to be his night every night.
Speaker 12155.1s - 2157.46s
You know, he's just, he's just that good.
Speaker 22157.46s - 2164.82s
Yeah, he's just, yeah, he's just that good. But from the players on the bench, I think, rotating in and all that stuff's going to be a big deal.
Speaker 12166.5s - 2206.28s
Tim PERSON, let's switch it back to some football talk. There has obviously been a lot of focus on the transfer portal most recently as it relates to imports for Kayland DeBore PERSON and his program. I know we have been all over it. You have been all over it with us at bam online.com. There have been some twists in the road, so to speak, I guess you could say, including some here very recently. So I'm going to just throw it to you and ask you to give us what we know right now on a Wednesdaymid-morning as it relates to some potential additions to this Alabama GPE football roster.
Speaker 22206.94s - 2320.02s
I know I'm a little irritated with Deshaun Jones PERSON. I can tell you that, the Wake Forest Portal ORG, who's been expected to announce his commitment to Alabama this entire week this morning before we went on the air, Deshaun PERSON tweeted, recruitment still open. And they deleted the tweet, which makes it, for me, somehow it makes it even worse that it's deleted. That tells me it wasn't necessary. But when you get these guysand you have, look, when you're in the portal, I don't think the portal necessarily ends. I think teams will still go after you. I don't think there's any honor among people looking in the portal. I don't know exactly what's happening with Deshaun Jones other than he deleted the tweet, but Alabama canceled a visit with Kobe Minor, the defensive back from Indiana when when Deshaun committed. And it's our understanding that he's did all the paperwork and everything necessary to to go to Alabama. So again, you know, the drama that goes with this and we saw that with Woods last week and we saw guys taking visits. These things happen a lot. I mean, these things are going to happen and they happen fast where you have a kid expected to visit on Friday and another school swoops in on Thursday and gets him signed and sealed and delivered. And so these things, I mean, this portal, Courtney Morgan PERSON, I think, does a big job,has a big hand in the portal along with all the coaches. They've got their work cut out for them because there's so much going on and so much happening. But I feel like Alabama GPE's done a good job. They're still waiting on Andrew Bone had a really good nugget this week on Gino Van DeMarc PERSON. We've predicted him to come to Alabama GPE. He's Michigan State ORG offensive linemen. And King Mack from Penn State hasn't committed yet, but DeMarc, we've predicted him to come to Alabama. He's Michigan State offensive linemen. And King Mack from Penn State ORG hasn't committed yet,but we feel like Alabama GPE's done a really good job there. So really you're trying to just like check these boxes. You know, I'm hoping this stuff's done by Friday with me going on a, on a trip.
Speaker 32320.16s - 2324.2s
So I'm hoping, well, I mean, I was like, Cliff PERSON, get the ball rolling.
Speaker 22324.4s - 2327.72s
Cliff hit on all cylinders and ended one for us.
Speaker 02327.72s - 2330.8s
And then you get to football, you're like, let's go to Sean PERSON, good job, buddy.
Speaker 22330.92s - 2351.84s
And then boom, you know, you're still waiting, you know, three or four days later to do it. But the portal, I mean, it's not just hard for the coach. It's hard for the players because they've got a lot of pressure. They've been told a lot of things. And look, if you got one year left, you can't afford to miss on your opportunity. So there's a ton of pressure for these players, too.So I don't fault any of them.
Speaker 12352.22s - 2380.62s
I don't either. And it really seems like the guys that are out there in the April portal that are of value are probably doing better for themselves in NIL than if they had come out in January, because there's not as many guys, true guys. I'm talking about legitimate guys. But the value of these guys seems to have doubled since January if what I'm hearing about some of them is accurate,
Speaker 02380.96s - 2390.06s
not so much related to Alabama, but there are some mid-level defensive linemen out there that I've heard about Tim PERSON. They're getting seven figures here in the April quarter.
Speaker 22390.36s - 2413.56s
It's crazy. This goes back to them, but it's crazy. This goes back to the old basketball. You know, I've told you that story before. I knew a kid. He had a Southern Miss offer. He says, I'm better in that. It was literally his only offer. So he waited in the late period. He ended up with like, I want to say ended up at North Carolina. We had North Carolina, Kentucky GPE, several big time offers because the field shrunk. You know, the field shrunk. And when the
Speaker 32413.56s - 2438.76s
field shrunk's the best, you know, if you have a top 250 ranking and 220 sign, well, when you wipe them off the board, you've got a top 30 all of a sudden, right? Yeah. And now you've got all the schools fighting for those 30 instead of the 250. So I think that's one thing that has helped them, especially as a talent, if you're actually got talent and contribute. But I think there's also going to be a lot of guys who probably are, have seen
Speaker 22438.76s - 2448.5s
their last year of football based on a lot of them in basketball too. I mean, the numbers, I've seen the number of people in the portal, and it has not matched the number of people in the portal who's signed.
Speaker 12449.5s - 2472.44s
Absolutely. I agree. And I, again, from what I've heard in some instances, you know, there's guys that probably were mid six figures back in January. They're over seven here late. It's, it's been pretty amazing to see play. It's, uh, it's, it's been pretty amazing to see play out. Hey, Tim PERSON, let's get into the, uh,roundtable mail bag. One of our favorites.
Speaker 02472.58s - 2507.28s
We always appreciate our viewers and subscribers, certainly at bamal ORG online.com for contributing to that. Uh, if you haven't, by the way, subscribe to our YouTube channel as of yet. Do that right now for us.If you would, hit that subscribe button. Hit a like for us if you don't mind as well. Hit that notifications bell. That'll get you all of the content here on YouTube from bamaonline.com. As it drops, we would certainly appreciate all of those items if you would do those. We'll start with Darth Crimson PERSON, who timely enough,
Speaker 12507.9s - 2561.84s
who asks, when is the Jones PERSON commitment coming? We just kind of address that with Tim PERSON. We'll see on that one as we continue to move forward. Tide Hashira PERSON here in the roundtable mailbag. Who has the best offense that Alabama will face in 2024? And Tim PERSON, we talked about this with the spreads with the marquee games,I'll tell you one right out the gate that's traditionally really good is Western Kentucky ORG. So, you know, do I think Western Kentucky is going to challenge Alabama for four quarters? No. But in terms of kind of a precursor to what Alabama is going to see throughout the season, that's not a bad way to start the season. Week two, Wisconsin, even with Tyler Van Dyke in there, you got to think is going to want to try to keep this into a ground and pound situation. What do you think in terms of offenses? What's your expectation from that perspective?
Speaker 22562.32s - 2623.8s
I think the most dangerous might be Tennessee, seeing Nico PERSON. Got a lot of respect for Josh Heifle PERSON in the game he calls. Nico PERSON's a guy that can run and throw. They've invested a lot of a lot in him to get him to Tennessee ORG, built some guys around him. I think the most consistent, the one that's probably the,it's the most talent is going to be Georgia ORG. I think Georgia ORG is going to have offensive alignment. I think they'll have running back. They have a veteran quarterback. They'll have guys the whiteouts. Now they lost some guy.I mean, you lose Brock Bowers PERSON. The thing about losing Brock Bowers PERSON is that is the ultimate safety valve. Like in worst case scenarios, you can dial up a play for Brock Bowers PERSON pretty easily because he was so good. And also, we can't sleep on Ladd McConkey PERSON being out. He was a guy, kind of like a little wild card type player. So you had these guys coming in. So I think Georgia ORG will be the biggest challenge. But I don't think they'll be as, you know, Hypo ORG is going to dial it up. I think Georgia ORG is just coming at you calling their playbook and saying, if you beat us, you know, you're going to be better than us today.
Speaker 12624.16s - 2699.28s
Yeah, I think if you're an Alabama GPE fan, you kind of look at this in terms of how the Alabama defense might match up with these offenses. I think Alabama's front seven matches up pretty well with Georgia ORG and who Georgia is typically on the offensive side of the ball. I think that Alabama's defensive line, linebackers can hang in against that Georgia ORG run game, which of courseadded Travis Etienne at the running back position. So that's a concern for Alabama GPE and others for next season. I'm kind of with you too on Tennessee ORG. Nico PERSON is a real wildcard in terms of how he can throw it and he can also run it. You look at this guy, it kind of looks like a giraffe out there. But then he's making plays with his legs too. So he sort of presents those unknowns and those unaccounted for aspects of defense that you just have to kind of put up with. Those would probably be at the top of the list for me as well. Hey, let's get back into the mailbag. And Zach Franks PERSON 94 asked, would you rather win the first title in Alabama GPE basketball history or Coach DeBoer win a title in the first year of his head coaching tenure?
Speaker 22700.5s - 2702.88s
I mean, I feel like I can't win with that.
Speaker 12703.06s - 2706.02s
You might get canceled. You'll get canceled either way on this one, Tim PERSON.
Speaker 22706.02s - 2757.72s
I mean, for me, it's basketball because they've never had one. I also think that Kalin DeBoer's PERSON best teams will be his future teams when he's got his whole roster against him. I guess I'm so logical. I think the odds are longer for Kalin DeBore PERSON to win, considering his schedule, you know, first of all, his schedule is brutal, just to get to the playoffs is brutal.I don't know if I have a preference of which one I like. If you say which one would I, if I had to predict which one to win next year, I'd predict basketball. Also with the caveat, the basketball, I mean, we've discussed this.I don't know if there's a harder tournament to win than the NCAA ORG basketball because one guy can get hot on one team and just absolutely carry you know carry his team to the next level. So if I had to say who's more likely to do it, I'd say basketball, but I don't have a preference who actually does it.
Speaker 12758.26s - 2851s
Yeah, I would say basketball, you know, because it would be the first, obviously. And you look around the SEC ORG and it's not, I know there's this perception, well, it's Kentucky GPE and everybody else in basketball. And, you know, look, Kentucky GPE is without question, the standard bearer of southeastern conference basketball. But Alabama GPE actually has a rich tradition in hoops, but it doesn't have a national championship. And Florida GPE, for example, has a couple of national titles. So, you know, this is something that you want for the athletic department, the university as a whole and the fan base. We haven't seen, I don't think, an Alabama GPE football coach, at least in the modern era, win a national title in year one.And I'm on record as being on board with you in terms of difficulty of winning a national championship in basketball, college baseball, those type of things, extremely difficult. It's going to be tougher for DeBoer in year one at Alabama because they're going to 12 teams. Now, that increases your chances of getting in, but you're going to have to navigate more folks to get it done in football moving forward. Major Wood 482 here in the roundtable mailbag.I don't know if it's been talked about on the board yet. It has, but have y'all caught Tom Brady's roast on Netflix ORG? It's actually pretty damn good. I agree. I caught it kind of late Sunday night.I got caught up on it, Tim PERSON. I'm not sure if you've seen it as of yet, but yeah, I agree with me. I saw a lot of the highlights.
Speaker 22851.1s - 2855.6s
I'm not watching the whole thing. The misses. I watched the highlights. I had,
Speaker 12855.6s - 2862.64s
I think Gronk PERSON was absolutely murdered worse than anybody else. It took it low hanging fruit. Poor
Speaker 22862.64s - 2865.82s
Rob PERSON. But he liked it. He liked liked it you can tell why he was up there
Speaker 12865.82s - 2872s
you could tell he liked it um uh for the most part i saw brady PERSON walk up and tell the guy jeff
Speaker 22872s - 2877.8s
what's his name who i've seen live a couple times to cool it on the robert craft jokes that was not
Speaker 12877.8s - 2883.36s
a setup he literally said cut the you know cut it out talk about my ex wife and my kids that was crazy
Speaker 22883.36s - 2889.34s
that was crazy they literally that was crazy you right. They talked about your wife cheating,
Speaker 12889.34s - 2894.36s
you deflating balls, your kids don't love you, but damn it, hold up.
Speaker 22894.74s - 2897.42s
Don't talk about Bobby. We're not talking about that massage, Paul PERSON.
Speaker 12897.42s - 2899.88s
You can talk about Bill PERSON too. You can talk about Bill too.
Speaker 22899.88s - 2903.76s
Do you let him talk about everybody. Every one of his teammates, every single one of them,
Speaker 12904.18s - 2905.96s
but not crap. That was, every single one of them. But not craft.
Speaker 22905.96s - 2909.6s
So that was interesting to see.
Speaker 12909.88s - 2913.8s
My thing about roast, and I agree, I think the former teammates,
Speaker 22913.88s - 2915.9s
I thought Bill Belichick PERSON was good.
Speaker 12916.08s - 2917.64s
Rob Gruncowski PERSON was good.
Speaker 22917.72s - 2919.82s
I thought Brady did a nice job closing it out.
Speaker 12920.28s - 2922.14s
But when I watch a roast him,
Speaker 22922.24s - 2924s
I watch it for the pros.
Speaker 12924.56s - 2927.06s
And I'm talking about the comedians.
Speaker 22927.56s - 2929.62s
I'll fast forward through Randy Moss PERSON.
Speaker 12929.78s - 2935.3s
Sorry, that's just the way. I mean, I know I'm not going to get a great set. That's not what Randy Moss PERSON does for a living.
Speaker 32935.6s - 2940.96s
But guys like Andrew Shultz and Tony Hitchcliff PERSON, I don't know if you saw there.
Speaker 22941.04s - 2943.16s
He was a, they were brutal.
Speaker 12943.6s - 2945.3s
He was like hit him up.
Speaker 22945.3s - 2950.8s
If you thought politically incorrect comedy and insult comedy was a thing in the past,
Speaker 12950.88s - 2953.66s
it got resuscitated Sunday night because.
Speaker 22954.3s - 2955.62s
The Tony PERSON guy went in.
Speaker 12955.72s - 2957.58s
George Floyd, Aaron Hernandez PERSON.
Speaker 22957.58s - 2960.36s
Nicky Glazer PERSON is an all-timer.
Speaker 12960.6s - 2962.8s
She is incredible up there.
Speaker 22963.7s - 2966.66s
So those were probably my favorite roast joltz is the guy
Speaker 12966.66s - 2971.16s
andrew sholts PERSON is a guy i really like i see a lot of his bits he does really good
Speaker 22971.16s - 2977s
like talking about everybody he did a good job kevin hart was a good sport but he actually thought
Speaker 02977s - 2982.86s
show was about him he was like standing up doing cartwheels and i loved i did like when the girl
Speaker 32982.86s - 2986s
said gronk that is Kevin Hart PERSON sitting next to you
Speaker 22986s - 2992.7s
not your shadow that's what I was like oh man they got they did so I thought they did a good job
Speaker 02992.7s - 2998.76s
but I don't know the I think the roast is better if he's not there you know what I mean well yeah
Speaker 22998.76s - 3009.02s
it was kind of like redundant I thought because um you already had Jeffrey Ross PERSON there, who is typically the guy that
Speaker 13009.02s - 3012.48s
will host those situations, but they loaded it up with Star Power ORG, no doubt.
Speaker 23012.66s - 3015.22s
I've seen him open for a few, and that's what he does.
Speaker 13015.28s - 3017.9s
He comes out, he roast you for a while, and then he leaves.
Speaker 23017.9s - 3025.9s
I've seen him open for Chappelle a few years ago, and a few other times I've noticed him out there, but yeah, he just comes in, Roastjian PERSON gets out. Yeah.
Speaker 13026.16s - 3032.82s
But not Robert Kraft PERSON. No. I still think that maybe the, and I thought also Peyton Manning PERSON's really good in that setting.
Speaker 23033s - 3045.92s
Yeah. He's as close to a pro as an athlete or coach can be in that. He's good. Peyton PERSON's good at that. Yeah. I agree.Major Wood. Pretty good. Pretty fun. No limits. You know, there weren't, that's for sure.
Speaker 13046.3s - 3089.68s
Hey, let's see. He also asked Major Wood 42, do you think with some of these portal safeties coming in, we could see more move back to the star spot, or as it's known right now, these days anyway, the Husky ORG. What we've heard from the defensive staff i think and even kaelin de bore major is that looks like malachi is going to play safety this year regardlessback there with keon sab i wouldn't rule out the possibility because he does have so much experience there and i'm sure it's something that they're keeping him in mind about but uh that's where a guy like king mac PERSON coming in you know, could help you as well. And they obviously felt good about Red Morgan PERSON, the early enrollee.
Speaker 23090.54s - 3092.26s
A lot of good, yeah, a lot of good press.
Speaker 13092.36s - 3098.62s
You know, the thing about Red PERSON, I mean, you might expect to hear that from our sources on the defensive side of the ball. That's not uncommon.
Speaker 23099.24s - 3135.62s
But it's when the sources on the opposite side of the ball, the player they're talking about. And again, that goes back to like Amari Cooper PERSON. Like the people, I mean, I hear the offensive guys saying he was good, but it was the defensive guys talking about him. They were talking about how good he was. Same with Will Anderson PERSON.Offensive guys going, you know, Will Anderson PERSON was literally like slowed down from the groups. Like, we can't see this guy get a good rep if it's against you. And that happens all the time. It's like, no, we know he can't stop you. Let's see if he can stop a normal human being.Yonsei Pierre PERSON was that way. So, yeah, hearing that with Red PERSON from the offensive guys, tells me he's really had an impact.
Speaker 13136.06s - 3145.5s
Reed W. Taylor here in the mailbag, Tim PERSON. Could you see Alabama signing a top two football recruiting class for Top two. For the 2025 cycle.
Speaker 23146.1s - 3147.06s
Can you see it, Tim PERSON?
Speaker 13147.78s - 3148.58s
Probably not.
Speaker 23149.28s - 3152.44s
I don't think so because it's going to be hard to get that elite type
Speaker 13152.44s - 3152.86s
quarterback.
Speaker 23153.02s - 3154.28s
It's not a great quarterback year DATE.
Speaker 13155s - 3156.42s
All the top guys are gone.
Speaker 23156.54s - 3213.12s
Ohio State ORG's really going to be aggressive. I feel Georgia ORG's going to have a lot of momentum. Top five, possibly. Top 10 for sure. Top two might be hard to do. But again, it depends on who they call, you know, it's going to start with their quarterback. You know, that's going to be, because you're talking about rankings and the significant, the people that follow the quarterback. So who they get at quarterback could be big. I don't feel this staff is worried about prep quarterbacks as the fans are. I think they understand they can go in the portal and get guys. And it's just a new day. When it comes to quarterback, I think it's just a new day and age. Again, you pay a guy hefty, you know, a hefty NIL and he doesn't play his freshman year. You've literally thrown that money away that you could have used. So I think top five is doable. I think they're number six right now. Top two might be hard this year. But overall, I mean, you've got to give them credit for getting back in the game with so many guys and certainly have a chance to finish strong.
Speaker 13213.76s - 3281.62s
BW. Thurber PERSON here in the roundtable mailbag. When was the last time the men's basketball team was ranked ahead of the football team in the preseason? Well, I got to think we got to go back to maybe the Godfrey era, right? Maybe remember Godfrey had them number one in like 2005 late that year. Like, and then they immediately sort of fell off the face of the earth. I think that was after the elite aid appearance in 2004, maybe 2004, 2005.That's what comes to mind anyway without just going way under the surface. But the point is, here's the thing, though. I mean, you're talking about the basketball team and the football team potentially being top five in a preseason together. That's probably the way I would view it and say, that's pretty crazy when you're in that situation. Tim, slip and Jimmy PERSON here in the roundtable mailbag, what couple of position groups will improve the most from the Sabin tenure to the DeBoer PERSON tenure? And I guess you automatically look to the offensive side, Tim PERSON.
Speaker 23282.82s - 3308.3s
Yeah, I think offensive line perhaps, but really, if I had to vote, I'd probably go wide Yeah, I think offensive line, perhaps, but really, if I had to vote, I'd probably go wide receivers. I think what Shep PERSON does. I believe in what, he has a type that he recruits. See the offers and the guys he's bringing in. We've seen the output at Washington ORG of what they developed. And guys, they put in the NFL ORG so far. So I would go with the wide receiver because offensive line wasn't bad at Alabama GPE, but I do think Alabama GPE offensive line will improve.
Speaker 13309.42s - 3323.3s
Yeah, that's going to be an area. Offense is the easy sort of expectation. You know, you kind of look at quarterback and think, oh, quarterback, but it ain't, it's not like Nick Saban PERSON had, you know, grunts at the quarterback.
Speaker 23323.8s - 3334.02s
Not at all. You had a couple of guys, you know, thatunts at the quarterback's. Not at all. You had a couple of guys, you know, that were pretty unbelievable. Bryce Young, Mack Jones, uh, Jalen, uh, Tua PERSON.
Speaker 13334.24s - 3341.64s
You can go down the list. I think there's this perception that it was kind of a three yards in a cloud of dust offense under Nick PERSON.
Speaker 03341.74s - 3347.92s
And early on in his tenure it was, but they became much more explosive later in the Sabin era.
Speaker 13348.16s - 3374.88s
Also, Slippin Jimmy PERSON, what couple of position groups will decline the most from the Sabin tenure to the DeBoer PERSON tenure? And Tim PERSON, I think it's another one that's obvious because how Sabin had his hands on a particular area of this Alabama GPE team during his time. I mean, you've already seen it probably in some of the attrition on the back end of the defense when I think the secondary.
Speaker 23375.84s - 3414.34s
Yeah, I wonder about running back. And it's partly, I mean, what Sabin did it running back during it? I mean, are you kidding me? I mean, you go back to the guys we've forgotten about. So many NFL ORG guys. Also, the game has changed. We're seeing smaller running backs versus the bigger ones that we were used to. Plus, just the way the offenses ran. I just think you're going to see a little bit more past, a little bit more run. So I just think the bar at running back was so high under Nick Saving PERSON. I just don't know how you could you could hit that bar again. Because again, if you pull it up,if you ever pull up, running back, drafted by the NFL from Alabama GPE, the list is absurd. And I guarantee you there's three guys you'd forgot off the top of your head.
Speaker 13414.88s - 3464.84s
Yeah, Eddie Lacey PERSON, guys like that. I agree. I think this year will be in a position and it's recruitment moving forward because you got a couple of three real dudes right now, right? Justice Haynes, Jam Miller, Richard Young, very impressive in the spring. You're adding to that mix. Again, perception sometimes can be reality. We'll see. But I think that's a good one if you're going to go on the offensive side of the ball. No doubt about it. Zboy here in the mailbag, Tim PERSON, says a lot was said about Sabin's ability to get recruits to camp. Courtney Morgan PERSON has referenced this and has said he would like to continue to make this a priority. Any indication on how the new staff is doing on that front going into camp season? I think they're doing fine. I think they,
Speaker 23464.84s - 3521.16s
we've addressed this in the past as far as you felt like they were behind. I think they felt like they were behind and they probably were behind, but they worked so hard during spring that at some point I felt like they were ahead. They were basically out of guys to visit, to come visit who hadn't visited. They brought so many guys in. But yeah, they're going to be, the camps are going to be visited. They brought so many guys in.But yeah, they're going to be, the camps are going to be their focus as well. I don't know any college coach that it's not important to. We always talked about it with saving because so many offers went out with saving. With this staff, I mean, they're playing catch up from the degree of seeing people live, but they are out on the spring. They are getting looks at guys. We've seen them hit, you know, going out to practices and all that kind of stuff. So they're getting live looks, but they'll do fine. I mean, they'll get guys on the spring. They are getting looks at guys. We've seen them going out to practices and all that kind of stuff. So they're getting live looks. But they'll do fine. I mean, they'll get guys into camp. I mean, Alabama was this, you know, every school wants to get them into camp in June. It's a little bit crowded because of the official visitors and everything else that's happening too. But, yeah, I feel like they're doing a good job.
Speaker 13522.78s - 3632.8s
Yeah, that seems to be the indication you get from our coverage there at bamaonline.com. And that's a big reason why you want to be a part of the roundtable and our website. Bammaonline.com, Tim Watts, Andrew Bone, Joseph Hastings PERSON, none better, none close to that trio when it comes to recruiting coverage and everything else that we offer there. Big Bama boy here in the roundtable Mailbag, Tim PERSON, asked for, he says, give us your too deep O.L with the thought that Bama ORG gets the transfer, Gino Vandemark, from Michigan State ORG.So what we saw at least on A day, Elijah Pritchett PERSON left tackle, Tyler Booker PERSON, left guard. The departed James Brockermier at center. So I'm going Parker Brailsford in thatmix with the ones as the starting center. The Washington ORG transfer. Jaden Roberts at right guard. And then Wilkins Formby PERSON at right tackle. Second two team, that's where it gets interesting,Nicole Bertrand, although again, Caden Proctor PERSON coming in, so I like him as the starting left tackle. And Elijah Pritchett PERSON perhaps goes to the right side and competes with Wilken Forbby or is he's your two along with Nequel Bertrand PERSON. They're at left tackle with the twos. And then you get into guys like Olaas Alan, perhaps at Guard ORG. You get into Vandemark at Guard Center ORG, Rock Montgomery in that mix at Guard ORG, Joe Ayanaada PERSON, the true freshman. We saw at Center, some with the twos in spring. And then right tackle, you could be thinking maybe Miles McVeigh PERSON.Those are some of the candidates, Tim PERSON. Fill in some blanks there if you have them. I don't have them.
Speaker 23632.84s - 3691.62s
I think you covered it pretty well. I think that going into this, I mean, I think there's some versatility. If you add, Gino PERSON, I think that's a big ad for guys with experience that can play different positions. Still just want to see what happens at right tackle. You know, I think that's the most. You got Eliz, you got some of the younger guys out there that you're willing to step in. I mean, it's interesting how there's so many options, despite you're likely looking at four locked in starters, going from Jaydon Roberts across to Kate and Proctor PERSON, you know, filling in with Parker and Tyler Booker PERSON, which is absolutely huge, you know, four guys basically with all conference honors and are some kind of all-American honors. But there are so many options to get to that fifth spot. And also, you're looking at what eight guys you want to be able to run out there at any moment, you know, twist an ankle, you know, a cleat comes off. I think we underappreciate the old cleat coming off. It takes a while to, it, a twisted ankle, you know, a cleat comes off. I think we underappreciate the old cleat coming off. It takes a while to lace them. It takes a while to lace them. It takes a while to unlace them
Speaker 13691.62s - 3763.08s
and get them back laced. It does. And so just the return of Caden Proctor PERSON, just in terms of how we laid it out for you there, it shows you how impactful that is and how much it fortifies you, perhaps not just at one spot, but a couple of spots now where you go from maybe even from a depth perspective, thinking you were a little bit thin to thinking, you know what?We got some decent numbers here and some quality that we can continue to develop at the offensive tackle position. Bama 116 here in the mailbag, just a real general question, How would you evaluate the level of this new coaching staff under KD? Everything is positive in March, April, May. Recruiting. I think they've answered some of those questions. There's still going to be some because you're not just followingthe greatest of all time in terms of just coaching, but recruiting as well. And Nick Saban PERSON, so you got to understand the bar that you're talking about that was established prior. But I don't know. It seems positive, Tim PERSON.I mean, we all know that the, the dividing line, the measuring stick doesn't come until September, late August.
Speaker 23763.78s - 3843.14s
Yeah, and I think that's all you can judge it on is where you're at right now and what they've done so far. And what they've done, they've did a good job with it. The stuff you're looking for, the boxes you want them to check. I mean, it started where with recruiting in the portal where I think they've done a really good job. I think they've had a good, they've had a good consistent mix of keeping guys in there, guys that left. I don't think you've seen a whole lot of,a lot of people begging and, and, you know, just, hey, if this isn't the spot for you, it's not the spot for you. So I think they've did a good job. I mean, I know they, you always got the ones that are like, you know, wait through the season. It's not just the season that matters. You've got to have talent for the season. That's the dumbest thing ever. You don't, it's not let's wait till the season. matters. You've got to have talent for the season. That's the dumbest thing ever. You don't, it's not let's wait till the season is they've got to,coaching is more than the season. It's more than the season. Hell, if Nick Saban PERSON thought that anybody's going to think it, but recruiting, the portal, the roster management, NIL ORG, all that stuff. They did all those things, pretty, you know how I know they've done them well? Because you've got so many fans of other schools saying they didn't do it well. You know what I mean? It's pretty obvious that, you know, they did at least a good enough job because the laughter was loud and it's a lot quieter now. You know, it's like that awkward comedian joke. You're like, you know, we went from loud laughter to this. So they've definitely done a good job.
Speaker 13843.14s - 3866.1s
Yeah, from a roster perspective right now, it looks really good for Alabama during the upcoming season. And what we have to go on during that stretch with Kailin DeBore PERSON, guy hasn't lost a lot of games once August and September have rolled around. Obviously, the SEC Alabama GPE, a different deal. But we have what we have to go by.
Speaker 23866.1s - 3875.12s
And right now looks pretty good. Yeah, that's a good point you made. It's not like this, you know, this is his first year coaching football. We got to figure out if he can coach. He's won everywhere he's went.
Speaker 33875.6s - 3881.56s
So do you think Alabama GPE's, you know, as an Alabama fan, do you think Alabama's as elite as you
Speaker 23881.56s - 3885.28s
probably claim? Because if you do, and he's a good coach, I see a line,
Speaker 13885.28s - 3895.52s
I feel like there could be some success there. Whoa, bro here in the mailbag. He wants to know, Tim PERSON, what time do you go to bed and what time do you wake up?Whoa, bro. This is really,
Speaker 23895.52s - 3895.94s
bro.
Speaker 03896.42s - 3897.92s
Bro's really getting into personal.
Speaker 13898.04s - 3902.38s
I go to bed late because I like West Coast LOC sports,
Speaker 23902.5s - 3924.08s
watching the Dodgers last night, watching the Mavs OKC last night. I've always been a night out. When I was single, I had stream trouble getting to sleep. Even when I first got in this business before I had kids, I was, I'd sleep until 11 a.m.I'd stay up until 4, 5 in the morning TIME. I need 4, 5, 6 hours TIME of sleep and I'm good stringed together.
Speaker 33924.72s - 3925.58s
I got at six.
Speaker 13925.58s - 3984.42s
I get up six 30. Yeah. I get up six 30 or whatever. I've transitioned to old man pretty much at this point. Boy, when we first started this stuff together with Tim PERSON, I was we were on the same clocks basically, I think. And we had young kids. And so, you know, you get them down around nine or ten. And then I would anyway, that was like, okay, now I can really go back to work, you know, 10 o'clock to three or four TIME. Um, you know, that was pretty common. But now that the kids are older, I'm older, man, I can go out 11 o'clock, pretty easy. But now I'm up at 5.30 guy. You know, I'm up at 5.30 drinking coffee guy. So that's kind of the change I've made from that perspective. Text Tider, our guy here in the Roundtable Mailbag, Tim PERSON. He wants to know when's the last time? TW, T-W-T-R, J-S, A-B, C-P, and J-H were all in the same room.Ever, question mark?
Speaker 23988.16s - 3994.4s
Have we? I don't think that we had that hasn't happened. I don't think so. No. Well, part of it is. Yeah. Part of it is I was about
Speaker 13994.4s - 4000.56s
said I don't like most of these guys. But part of it. Part of it is when we when we came, when we
Speaker 24000.56s - 4007.04s
moved the website in June, all hell broke loose. I had arrived from Italy on the 31st.
Speaker 14007.76s - 4009.36s
Midnight, we moved the site.
Speaker 24009.82s - 4012.08s
Joseph PERSON was here for longer.
Speaker 14012.36s - 4015.22s
Andrew was here eight months later than Joseph PERSON.
Speaker 24015.98s - 4069.18s
And then we all came. Jimmy PERSON was here. And then me, Travis, and Charlie Potter PERSON showed up. But all hell broke loose in June. We went straight to the commitments and the camps. and then August rolled around and you've got football. You know, we haven't really had a damn break. Not that, uh, you know, we're not bricklayers. So we understand, you know, this is more mental than physical, but we have, we need a remedy this, but we have not been in the room together, you know, in a long time. No, we've been all been in Zooms FAC and stuff together. Yeah. So we, you know, Zooms FAC have changed everything where you go from not, you know, this is not a normal phone call that we grew up with, right? Yeah. You know, you zooms are more intimate, obviously. I mean, we get to see a little bit about each other and the conversations, easier, facial expressions, but we do need to get some kind of BOL gathering at some point, maybe this summer, but again, we're still, you know, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're,
Speaker 14069.18s - 4073.42s
we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're, we know, we're, we know,
Speaker 24073.42s - 4076.2s
we know, we're, you know, it's May 8, we're, you know, it's, we're,
Speaker 14076.2s - 4080.58s
and Andrew bone has young kids, Travis PERSON likes to move around. I've got trips I'm taking.
Speaker 24080.82s - 4085.74s
Charlie PERSON Potter hates us all. So, um, I think getting Charlie in the room with us,
Speaker 14085.74s - 4093.06s
we might have to kidnap Charlie PERSON, right? Clarifying. Yeah. Well, getting Charlie up. Charlie's where
Speaker 24093.06s - 4099.14s
Tim and I were, you know, about 15 years ago, I think, when it comes to sleep skeds. And he's busy
Speaker 14099.14s - 4110.64s
today. Charlie got up. Props to Charlie because he is over in Birmingham GPE, I think, for that region's tradition with Kael and DeBoer PERSON. So does it when he he does it when he needs to text
Speaker 24110.64s - 4117.12s
hider says meet in austin GPE hey i'm down i've never been to austin and i absolutely i absolutely need
Speaker 14117.12s - 4123.52s
us on the bucket list and we were heading there go get me some little barbecue yeah they um we will
Speaker 24123.52s - 4127.62s
eat if we go to austin no doubt about it. Texas GPE probably take us on the
Speaker 14127.62s - 4133.52s
personal tour though. He'd make sure we did it right. Yeah, I need to go to Austin. I haven't been
Speaker 24133.52s - 4138.52s
there. And our old buddy Hank South. Yeah, now covers Texas. He lives in Austin. He'd welcome us with
Speaker 14138.52s - 4141.54s
open arms. Still a friend of the program. Still talk to Hank PERSON.
Speaker 24142s - 4149.16s
Thanks. Pretty regular man. Good dude. Just a good dude. Happy covering Texas, living in his alma mater, living in Austin.
Speaker 14150.6s - 4155.52s
George Mardini PERSON here to wrap up the roundtable mailbag to him along those same lines.
Speaker 24155.86s - 4159.7s
Always curious where you guys live in relation to the Zooms FAC, just for perspective.
Speaker 14159.86s - 4163.8s
Kind of like Brett PERSON and you are looking live.
Speaker 34164.26s - 4165.38s
I don't know.
Speaker 14166.58s - 4167.86s
Are you getting that?
Speaker 34168.1s - 4172.9s
Is George asking where we live or where we originate from?
Speaker 14172.9s - 4175.08s
I think he's asking like where we are now.
Speaker 34175.22s - 4176.72s
Joseph and Travis from Florida GPE,
Speaker 24177.14s - 4179.32s
me and Andrew and Potter are in Birmingham GPE.
Speaker 14179.9s - 4181.18s
Jimmy's in Tuscaloosa GPE.
Speaker 24182.68s - 4184.98s
Yeah, we're a little bit of a, we're regional.
Speaker 14184.98s - 4185.94s
But when you cover you, yeah, we don a little bit of a, we're regional. But when you
Speaker 24185.94s - 4191.1s
cover you, yeah, we don't really have a home base in this end of this business because not
Speaker 14191.1s - 4195.4s
any longer. Well, you make it makes sense. You have a recruiting guy. And that's what we always had
Speaker 24195.4s - 4201.24s
one in Alabama and one away from Alabama. Joseph lives in Florida GPE. Um, he's able to see a lot of guys.
Speaker 14201.24s - 4205.24s
He's on his way to see Michael DeBose today. Charlie and Jimmy right there in T-Town FAC.
Speaker 24205.6s - 4208.58s
Yeah, yeah, short drives and covering the team every day.
Speaker 14208.7s - 4210s
They got to do all that stuff.
Speaker 24210.44s - 4212.48s
So, yeah, yeah, that's the setup.
Speaker 14212.84s - 4213.28s
Absolutely.
Speaker 24213.48s - 4222.4s
Hey, we've got a comment or two maybe here in the viewer chat that will also get to Patrick Trotter PERSON here.
Speaker 14222.4s - 4267.94s
I heard someone saying yesterday that Bama ORG is going to probably have about 1,400 yards of rushing offense. I'm thinking more around 2,500 if they utilize the offense properly, Patrick PERSON's idea of the proper offense. Here's the thing that I'm thinking too, though, and we even saw some of this Tim in the 8-A ORG game.I'm going to have to be careful with just looking at rushing totals because some of the ways, a lot of the ways, it looks like Kailen DeBore and Nick Sheridan PERSON are going to get guys the football really could be considered rushing plays, whether it's jet sweeps or quick passing game, those type of things. That's what I'm thinking. You know, there's complimentary things to the run game that I think are going to be more in
Speaker 24267.94s - 4285.04s
play too. What do you think? Yeah, I think with Jalen PERSON, you probably will. I mean, I think your running back is going to get you 100 yards a game in a 14, you know, so that's why I agree it's going to be over 1,400 because Jalen PERSON's going to get you, what's he going to get you, 60 yards a game on average? You know, I think he's going to have you, what's he going to get you? 60 yards a game on average.
Speaker 14285.34s - 4294.28s
You know, I think he's going to have more rushing yards than he had last year, in part because he's not going to get sacked 40 plus times. That's going to help.
Speaker 04294.82s - 4297.42s
But I think even just in terms of design runs,
Speaker 24297.6s - 4313.28s
there's going to be more for him. Yeah, no, I agree. I think you're going to see a more wide open. I think you're going to see a lot of more of those plays designed. I didn't feel like there was a ton of plays design for him last year consistently. Did you, I felt like in certain games we saw.
Speaker 04313.28s - 4314.18s
Surprisingly not.
Speaker 14314.52s - 4318.02s
But a lot of times was just, you know, our boy just getting it after it.
Speaker 24318.92s - 4322.36s
I think, I think, I think, I think, I think, I think, I think Kaylon DeBore PERSON is excited about
Speaker 14322.36s - 4367.76s
Jalen Milro PERSON as much as he is where the run game is concerned as he is in the development and the progress that he's seeing from Jalen PERSON as a passer. I think I think Kaelin PERSON's fine with getting this guy going in the run game, perhaps more so than even Tommy Reese and Nick Sabin were in 2023. Z Frank 94 here, and we'll wrap it up with this, Tim PERSON. Is there rumblings of moving King Mack or Cam Howard PERSON to cornerbackor will both be strictly safety death? Everything I've seen about Cam Howard is that he is a safety, Tim PERSON. Now, King Mack PERSON, you've heard and seen some things about versatility, maybe more so where that husky position is concerned than say straight up playing some corner.
Speaker 24369.46s - 4421.92s
Yeah, I think the thing with King PERSON is he has more versatility. He's got more years of eligibility also. You know, he was lying for Penn State ORG after talking to my friend, Sean Fitz, who runs our Penn State ORG side. He said he was their, I think he said there's their fourth safety. And they had high hopes for him coming up.I think he was in a situation where he was behind some pretty good players. They like with more experience. So he has some versatility to his game. I feel like he's a top 100 recruit too. So a little bit more Nash PERSON. You know, the portal guys, the perception with portal always goes back to theirrecruiting profile, which I find funny because, they were a two-star, but then you know, All-American at UNCC ORG, not saying they were, they still will go to the four-star who hadn't played at that other university. But that's just a side note. But yeah, I think that I wouldn't say it's just debt because they need guys that can compete and guys that can come in and make plays
Speaker 14421.92s - 4462.08s
when needed. And there you go. That's a wrap for the roundtable mailbag with some bonus chat questions thrown in there as well. We appreciate all of them. Thank you so much to our subscribers at bamaonline.com for contributing as always and also to you are viewers. And if you haven't already, subscribe to the YouTube home for bamaonline.com.Just hit that subscribe button right now. Hit a like for us if you don't mind. Turn on those notifications. You'll get all of our YouTube content as it drops right here. Tim PERSON, anything else before we get out of here. You know, you're going to be traveling here in the coming days. We may try to hook up internationally.
Speaker 24462.62s - 4473.86s
You know, that I can be a first for the show. Yeah, I'm going to see about possibly, you know, because the time difference puts me, you'll see at my window, my break window, which is about four to five.
Speaker 04474.16s - 4475.48s
Well, you kind of like, you know,
Speaker 34475.52s - 4477.3s
we try to get after it when we're traveling.
Speaker 04477.9s - 4478.86s
But at some point,
Speaker 24478.9s - 4492.32s
I'm going to need a vacation from my family, you know, and I need a, I mean, I know, I mean, at least, I mean, I need like, and they need it too. They need an hour of me smoking a cigar and talking to friends and adults.
Speaker 14492.32s - 4498.56s
Absolutely. And they need when we rest and we go out to dinner and go back out that night. So we'll, we'll, we'll find some windows.
Speaker 24500.08s - 4504.68s
You're going to be up at like, you're going to be up at like 3, 4 a.m. watching NBA ORG playoffs. What you're going to do.
Speaker 14504.68s - 4505.48s
That was a mess.
Speaker 24505.66s - 4507.66s
I was so, Hawaii got me the most.
Speaker 14507.82s - 4512.58s
I think your daughter would be able to talk to me because like we went to Mother's Day.
Speaker 24513.14s - 4541.06s
I mean, it's like 8, 8.30 in the morning TIME. We went this little Hawaiian NORP place. It was really awesome for Mother's Day. And I got a text from a buddy that said the Braves are up two to nothing. It's like, what the hell is happening? Like, what is happening? And then during that same thing, it was like three o'clock, broad daylight. I was out sitting in the smoking section, smoking a cigar, broad daylight. People were at work and I'm watching the NBA ORG playoffs.
Speaker 34541.38s - 4542.02s
It's nuts.
Speaker 24542.56s - 4557.32s
Hawaii was really different. Now, Europe LOC, I got a little bit better grip on. And, you know, I got some friends that are so jacked up with their real life that we've never been closer than when I'm in Europe LOC because their schedule's so butt backwards. Yeah.Yeah.
Speaker 14557.38s - 4562.08s
Hawaii's nuts because you could have that new college football game.
Speaker 24562.2s - 4566.18s
It's 7 a.m. in Hawaii, as soon as you wake up. I mean, you roll out the rack.
Speaker 14566.3s - 4569.48s
I talked to some of the natives that live there, and they kind of explained, like,
Speaker 24569.52s - 4579.08s
how it was hard to watch college football and how to get up. And, you know, their time windows to watch sports just in general. Yeah.
Speaker 14580.22s - 4581.64s
Bob PERSON closing us out here.
Speaker 24581.76s - 4584.84s
OMG, Alabama has already scored two runs in softball.
Speaker 14584.84s - 4585.24s
Wow. First strike for Patrick Murphy's scored two runs in softball. Wow.
Speaker 24585.5s - 4589.42s
First strike for Patrick Murphy's PERSON team against LSU
Speaker 14589.42s - 4591.44s
in a second round SEC ORG tournament game.
Speaker 34591.56s - 4592.58s
They're playing already?
Speaker 24592.92s - 4597.68s
They're playing right now. First pitch, I believe, was 10 a.m.
Speaker 14597.68s - 4599.88s
Central in that matchup with LSU ORG.
Speaker 24600.02s - 4606.42s
So you can find that, I'm sure, at SEC Network ORG after you leave us here on our YouTube channel.
Speaker 14606.42s - 4613.86s
Hey, man, my man, Thana Fon Rogers has tried watching from Thailand GPE.
Speaker 04614.16s - 4619.36s
I tried to actually watch golf in Thailand from here last week.
Speaker 14619.56s - 4621.88s
And that was, that was late night for sure.
Speaker 24622.38s - 4623.64s
I'm trying to go to Thailand GPE.
Speaker 14623.94s - 4627.34s
I'm trying to go to Japan, maybe Vietnam GPE.
Speaker 24627.34s - 4631.92s
It looks fantastic. But, dude, that flight, 24 hours on a flight.
Speaker 14631.92s - 4637.82s
It's like Australia GPE, man. I'd love to go to Australia GPE. And it's even further to what you're talking about.
Speaker 24638.44s - 4655.4s
I think what we're going to do, I'm going somewhere in Asia LOC. I just, they've got too much respect for the culture not to. But I do think I'm going to fly somewhere halfway and spend three days and then fly the other half. Because I just don't think I can be on the, at least squeeze in another, you know,
Speaker 14655.4s - 4663.74s
city for three nights where I could, you know, kind of make it a double trip, but go to Hawaii again or something and then go from there maybe. I don't know.
Speaker 04664s - 4686.18s
I don't even know which way do you go. You go west, right? is it shorter to go I mean it's so far every time I said griped is 24 hours everybody's like you dumb you know what did you take it's on the other side of the world I was like I didn't know is that far I want to go to Australia New Zealand man but mold ass I just don't know you know can do it. New Zealand looks fantastic. Thailand GPE looks fantastic.
Speaker 24686.94s - 4688.34s
Vietnam GPE, look into that.
Speaker 14688.4s - 4693.14s
That looks like an amazing country, which I had no idea until I was older.
Speaker 24693.44s - 4696.46s
I've heard Iceland GPE is underrated, actually.
Speaker 14696.92s - 4700.64s
You know, the one thing everybody who's ever done that they've loved has been the
Speaker 24700.64s - 4702.94s
Alaskan NORP cruise.
Speaker 14703.8s - 4705.08s
I've never heard anything.
Speaker 24705.28s - 4706.16s
My folks have done it.
Speaker 14706.32s - 4707.24s
They love it.
Speaker 24707.4s - 4710.24s
Everybody that's did this cruise is absolutely love it.
Speaker 14710.24s - 4711.72s
The wife wants to do that one.
Speaker 24711.86s - 4712.4s
She wants to do that.
Speaker 14712.4s - 4713s
They love it.
Speaker 24713.06s - 4714.96s
Like it's a five star event.
Speaker 14715.08s - 4719.56s
You know, usually, you know, enough people went to have a good, nice enough
Speaker 24719.56s - 4735.02s
sample size, but you have, you always have a naysayer. You know, you always have the guy that doubts, like has to keep it a little bit more real than others. And I've never heard that about that cruise. So it might be something we do in the future. I've only had one cruise experience and it was
Speaker 14735.02s - 4743.3s
I didn't plan well. Come for the Crimson Tide Talk WORK_OF_ART. Stay for the travel network here on the
Speaker 24743.3s - 4745.88s
YouTube home for bamonline.com ORG.
Speaker 14745.94s - 4750.82s
Hey, Tim PERSON, look forward to catching up again real soon. Recruiting talk.
Speaker 24750.82s - 4754.96s
And tomorrow, don't forget tomorrow that we almost forgot, Chad Simmons PERSON.
Speaker 14755.24s - 4759.22s
Chad PERSON Simmons going to be on the, we're going quad box with Chad, right?
Speaker 24759.58s - 4770.4s
Tomorrow. We're going to bring in Andrew PERSON at some point. We've had, or it should be our second guest. We're excited about Chad PERSON. We had Steve Wilfong PERSON, the Fonger PERSON.
Speaker 14770.4s - 4773.38s
Fonger PERSON. The Fonger himself was our first guest.
Speaker 24773.48s - 4783.86s
We kind of waited for him to come over and very good, very much a friend of the program. And now we're going to have Chad PERSON and we've got some more guys coming. Of course, Charles Power.
Speaker 14784.42s - 4788.6s
Cody Ballard. We need Charles on here. Yeah, Philip Dukes PERSON is a guy I want to talk to.
Speaker 24789.02s - 4793.5s
He does a good job. Has that energy for sports that I have, getting to know Philip better.
Speaker 14794.5s - 4797.86s
And, you know, so many more guys in our network that we love to hang out with.
Speaker 34798s - 4800.48s
So tomorrow, you will be seeing us again.
Speaker 24801.22s - 4806.12s
That's right. With Chad Simmons right here on the YouTube home for Bamaonline.com for Tim Watts PERSON.
