Oh, he did?

Speaker 698.26s - 101.98s

Hello, Mesaun. Oh, so put in the...

Speaker 1101.98s - 114.82s

What accent are you putting on it? Is it a TILDA? I don't know, It's probably squiggly. All right. And we also have Mitsugi in his winter hat because it do be chilly in Colorado.

Speaker 4115.04s - 116.84s

Well, I'm bald also. So.

Speaker 1117.1s - 117.58s

And bald.

Speaker 4118.02s - 128.1s

Yeah, it snowed like eight inches yesterday or some shit and then it like, or for eight hours rather. And it was like that snow that's half snow, half rain, so it's all slushy and freezing.

Speaker 1128.44s - 131.82s

And it's just like, nothing, nothing like taking your dog out to take a shit.

Speaker 0132.06s - 134.86s

And with a bald head, the snow is just ravaging.

Speaker 1134.86s - 136.2s

Sounds like a lot of fun.

Speaker 4136.74s - 137.38s

Oh, he's great.

Speaker 1137.68s - 155.98s

T-shirt that I made recently. You know, you're going to want that truck-in.

Speaker 1201.66s - 212.42s

Yes, I'm very proud. Mm-hmm. And let's talk about what we have coming up in the episode today. Would you like to explain anime alphabet Mason? Because I still don't get it. I probably did it wrong.

Speaker 6212.64s - 214.02s

We'll explain it when we get to it.

Speaker 1214.06s - 218.64s

But we're going to do the alphabet. For those of you who don't know your ABCs.

Speaker 6219.18s - 219.78s

Yes, yes.

Speaker 1219.84s - 222.14s

Well, we're only even doing half of our alphabet today.

Speaker 6222.6s - 223.52s

If that.

Speaker 5223.68s - 225.66s

We'll see how long it takes to get to it.

Speaker 1226.32s - 230.54s

We also have, what is it, our third round, or second round of spring impressions, right?

Speaker 5230.94s - 231.24s

Yep.

Speaker 1231.44s - 238.14s

We're going to be talking about Kaiju number eight, Rin Kai, trained to the end of the world, the many sides of voice actor radio.

Speaker 0239.14s - 241.54s

Oitonbu slash bartender.

Speaker 1241.7s - 242.64s

Oh, yeah, we're going to do.

Speaker 6242.64s - 245.16s

You got to say it very funnily. Say it as funny as you can for Oitonbo. Well, we're not going going to do it. You gotta say it very funnily.

Speaker 5245.28s - 247.4s

Say it as funny as you can for Oitonbo.

Speaker 1247.68s - 248.58s

Well, we're not going to do that today.

Speaker 6248.58s - 249.46s

I don't even know what that is.

Speaker 4249.46s - 250.18s

We're doing bartender.

Speaker 6250.18s - 251.32s

Oi tonbo.

Speaker 4251.68s - 251.96s

Oi tommbo.

Speaker 6251.96s - 253.3s

Okay, so that's not on the docket today.

Speaker 1253.74s - 254.68s

But bartender is.

Speaker 4254.78s - 256.4s

Also, girls band cry.

Speaker 6257.44s - 260.4s

Anybody else want to talk before we get into our big news of the week?

Speaker 4260.7s - 264.04s

Can our main topic next week just be 40 minutes of us saying,

Speaker 6264.54s - 266.36s

Oitombo, as silly as possible?

Speaker 1266.5s - 266.62s

Yeah.

Speaker 6267.56s - 269.18s

Put it on the board.

Speaker 5269.98s - 271.24s

Yeah, that's really her name.

Speaker 6271.7s - 273.28s

So, okay.

Speaker 4273.88s - 274.52s

Nope, nothing from here.

Speaker 6274.54s - 279.42s

Let's do it. Oh,

Speaker 3280.34s - 284.94s

it's time for big news of the week.

Speaker 4284.94s - 308.68s

Players of your PSA, the yen is at 158. Just fucking insane. The yen is so cheap that I am now, we are pancake canarynow discussing just moving to Japan permanently and just living there because I don't know,Japan's got us beat on everything and now they're wrecking us on prices. You just pretty much retire and just move to Japan and eat $200.

Speaker 6308.68s - 317.4s

Would you go to a major city or would you take one of those deals where the government is like, we'll give you a free house and everything if you just live in the countryside.

Speaker 4317.68s - 360.46s

You don't even have to do that. Like honestly, there are houses in Tokyo in like Saitama, which is a Tokyo suburb at this point. You can buy a house for like 100 Gs. It's like the cheapest shit ever. I mean, I don't know where else you're going to find. You're not going to find a house anywhere in America for 100K.So, but you can just go to Japan right now, buy a house for 100K and just never work again and just fuck off forever and just eat $200 sushi meals for like $40. That's kind of reality. That's where they are at the moment. 158? I doubt the yen has ever been this week against the dollar, ever. If people aren't going to Japan right now and you've been like wanting to and you havethe means, you're just foolish. Honestly, at this point, you should just go.

Speaker 6360.46s - 366.22s

Or at least putting money into a system that holds it at this 158.

Speaker 4366.36s - 368.3s

Like wise.com.

Speaker 6368.8s - 370.8s

Not a sponsor of this podcast.

Speaker 4370.98s - 372.82s

Oh, wait a second, wait a second, wait for it.

Speaker 6373.28s - 373.88s

Wait for it.

Speaker 4373.96s - 375.8s

Oh, wise.com.

Speaker 6376.02s - 376.74s

Still not sponsored.

Speaker 4377.22s - 404s

Not sponsored, but if you go to, if you, but I have a promo code that will get you a free exchange. So if you go to the Discord, you can DM me. Literally, this is the best way to take out money in Japan. This is a total like non-sequitur, but like honestly, every 7-11 takes this card and they charge almost nothing to exchange money. Literally, it's like, it's like 0.8% on the rate, which is impossible. A bank will charge you like 9%. So, yeah, I mean, why. Caroline, is it going

Speaker 6404s - 407.44s

to hit 160? In your professional opinion.

Speaker 0408.06s - 412.06s

I want to see it. It might have already done it. I want to see it. She's like Kramer. She's

Speaker 4412.06s - 416.82s

smashing her butt. Bam, bam, b'am, 160. I see it. I see it. It's fucking insane. I mean, like,

Speaker 6417.5s - 423s

bro, I mean, honestly, I can't even put that in terms of people can comprehend at this point.

Speaker 0424.78s - 425.68s

I don't know. It's blown my mind. Like, uh, you can, uh, you can't even put that in terms that people can comprehend at this point. I don't know.

Speaker 6428s - 429.14s

It's blown my mind.

Speaker 4429.14s - 430.78s

You can pretty much,

Speaker 6431.08s - 432.12s

like you would go to a bar

Speaker 4432.12s - 479.7s

and order a drink, and it would be like $3. And Japan just is better than the U.S. in almost every way. There's society's cleaner, the people are friendlier, there's less crime, the trains run perfectly. You know, there's not so much political bullshit fighting all the time. People are just happy. I don't know. Just move to Japan. Oh, and I looked it up, and this last thing I'll say, foreigners have the exact same property rights as Japanese people, so you can easily just buy a house in Japan as a foreigner. You don't have to do anything special, nothing. You might have to hire someone on like Etsy or like Fiverr to walk around with you and help translate your way through like the paperwork for like maybe$2,000. But like honestly, you can get a trance player off of Etsy? You buy a little crocheted

Speaker 6479.7s - 485.42s

notebook of Nihon to English. Whatever. You get a fiber, you know, like it's the same guy, the same type of person who bought my jibli tickets for the museum because theyihon to English. You go to fiber. You know, like, it's the same guy,

Speaker 5485.48s - 488.36s

the same type of person who bought my jubilee tickets for the museum

Speaker 4488.36s - 546.48s

because they were impossible to acquire. He upcharged me, but like that guy would probably, for like $1,500, he'd probably walk around with you for like five days and get your house, your registration, your fucking honko, your cell phone, you know, your electric setup, everything. You know, they probably have people that do that. And honestly, at $ 158 of the dollar, you may as well just, if you're like 50 and you want to retire, you may as well just move to Japan and do it now. You're accelerating your retirement by 10 years. Oh, and healthcare costs like nothing. It's like free in Japan practically. But you don't have to wait 10 months. Anyway, moving on. So in Japan, TV special ranks the top 10, sorry, the top 20 anime songs as chosen by foreign fans. So I guess these are, I thought they were Japanese people, but then based on that article, I guess they're not. So this is foreigners. This is what the foreigners like. There are three instances of attack on Titan on here.

Speaker 5547.56s - 557.88s

All at the bottom of the list, though, thankfully. Not that I have anything really against attack on Titan. I just think would be pretty lame if the top three were all attack on Titan. That would be unfortunate.

Speaker 4558.72s - 576.94s

There's three songs from Jiu-Sukaisen, which is pretty much all of them, as far as I can tell. And there's two songs from Naruto, which is nowhere near all of them. And I don't know, the standouts on here that are like not new Shonen stuff is Tank is on here from Cowboy Bebop

Speaker 1576.94s - 581.66s

at number 17. Oh, yeah, that was going to be a given. Yeah, but if this was Japanese people,

Speaker 4581.66s - 585.32s

I don't think it'd be on the list at all, honestly.

Speaker 1589.5s - 590.38s

That's how I, that corroborates for me the fact that this is, these are foreign fans because,

Speaker 4592.24s - 597.82s

I guess like I've said, Japanese people just don't care. I don't know the song Butterfly from Digimon Adventure. Maybe you guys do.

Speaker 0598.9s - 598.96s

No, I don't know that one either.

Speaker 4599.72s - 623.58s

Kazo would know it. He's a Digimon guy. Chala Head Shala is on here, number 13, which I think is pretty low for Chala Headchala. Honestly, I thought that'd be kind of higher. But we are from One Piece is number eight. I don't know that.I don't know that one. And then the top five are kickback from Chainsaw Man. Unravel from Tokyo Ghul. Totally wild, this next one.

Speaker 1628.22s - 631.96s

What the hell anime is this even? How do you know? This anime can't be. It's, yeah, it's the name. He's old. What the fuck song is this?

Speaker 4632.76s - 642.8s

Volta's from Voltaxiv. From Volta's Votas V by Mitsiko Hordier. I have never, someone's going to have, Mason, someone listen to this and tell me if this is like

Speaker 6643.94s - 647.18s

one of those. I've never heard of this.

Speaker 0647.3s - 651.32s

It's like, it looks like it's a Voltron-esque show, but I've never heard of the song.

Speaker 4651.42s - 657.48s

I mean, it's less than 2,000 people were pulled, so it's such a small sample size.

Speaker 0658.52s - 659.58s

But I had no idea how.

Speaker 4659.58s - 660.98s

2,000 people is decent.

Speaker 0661.14s - 661.76s

I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 4662.6s - 663.04s

To represent.

Speaker 0663.04s - 666.06s

But the fact that there are so many very

Speaker 6666.06s - 668.1s

popular OPs and

Speaker 4668.1s - 670.1s

80s, like further down the

Speaker 1670.1s - 671.96s

list, the fact that this one

Speaker 6671.96s - 673.9s

that none of us have heard of,

Speaker 1674.32s - 675.6s

no three of us,

Speaker 4676.12s - 677.28s

but

Speaker 1677.28s - 680.02s

a good portion of 2,000

Speaker 5680.02s - 681.68s

people voted for it.

Speaker 4681.82s - 691.98s

I don't know. But number two is Idol from Oshinoco, which I think is, you know, whatever, of course. And number, that's a recency pick. And then number one is

Speaker 0691.98s - 699.52s

Cruel Angels thesis from Evangelion, which is kind of like, you know, you knew it would be on there.

Speaker 4699.92s - 718.06s

I didn't think necessarily it'd be number one. But there it is. So there's so many songs in here that I just feel like aren't picked. I don't know. There's a lot of random shit here. Like, um, I'm really surprised that foreigners care a little, even a bit about Gintama.Um, I almost never hear people talking about it.

Speaker 6719.4s - 723.5s

So I listen to this Volta song. Yeah. And they,

Speaker 4723.5s - 725.92s

okay, there's two parts to it.

Speaker 6726.34s - 755.36s

So this is from a show in the 70s. So imagine any 70s anime opening, like just that quality of recording, that very operatic female vocal, just the most simple basic instrumentation. That's the song. So it sounds exactly as you're picturing in your head. This is the first anime ever shown in the song. So it sounds exactly as you're picturing in your head. This is the first anime ever shown in the Philippines. So my guess is that this pull had a lot of folks from there who had this nostalgia for this song.

Speaker 4755.66s - 757.44s

And that's why it got high on the list.

Speaker 0757.54s - 757.8s

Okay.

Speaker 4758.3s - 759.3s

Yeah, that makes some sense.

Speaker 0760.2s - 763.42s

There's a fuck ton of people in the Philippines. Yeah.

Speaker 4764.02s - 798.46s

Yeah, I don't know if you guys knew, but there's like 300 million people in the Philippines. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know if you guys knew, but there's like 300 million people in the Philippines, so that would definitely move the needle. Yeah, I don't know. So that's the list. Full metal alchemists is on here as well,so is Demon Slayer, which I thought would be higher. Like, you'd think it'd be higher, but apparently not. So, you know, Demon Slayer has been out for a while. It's no longer hot anymore, so no one cares.Gudengue is the one that made it, number 12. That's my big news. There's really not a lot of news this week. I just wanted to, I saw this was kind of fun, so. There you go.

Speaker 1798.46s - 846.86s

Well, speaking of, you know, anime, O-P, ZDs, an idol by Yo-A-O-A-O-B. You-A-O-B are going to be expanding some of the shows they're doing in the United States because they did some West Coast shows earlier this month. They're going to be heading to the East Coast as well this summer. After performing at Lollapalooza, they'll be coming to New York City's Radio City Music Hall on August 6thand Boston's MHM Music Hall at Fenway on August 8th. General Sale has already begun, so if you want to see one of those shows, you can order them now. I have a link on the show notes if you want to check that out. I'm sure if you just type in, you also be tour dates. You'll find it. I would be tempted to go, but I hate...

Speaker 4846.86s - 849.94s

I hate concerts on a weeknight.

Speaker 1850.14s - 850.44s

Yeah.

Speaker 4850.74s - 852.32s

I can't do that.

Speaker 1852.4s - 853.2s

I can't swing that.

Speaker 4853.44s - 855.96s

Oh yeah, you want to get hammered and, you know, go fucking nuts.

Speaker 1856.84s - 857.94s

Not exactly.

Speaker 4858.12s - 862.02s

It's just, it's kind of a pain to get into New York City on a Tuesday night.

Speaker 5862.22s - 863.4s

You got to go fucking nuts.

Speaker 4863.96s - 866.08s

But the thing is, I don't really have

Speaker 5866.08s - 867.84s

that many vacation days, so

Speaker 4867.84s - 869.38s

I can't, you know,

Speaker 1870.18s - 873.96s

I would have to leave right after work and then I would have to work the next day

Speaker 4873.96s - 881.6s

and going in and out of the city. As close as I am, taking the trains do take a little while. Are you remote? No.

Speaker 1881.82s - 883.9s

So if you hurl into a bucket, somebody will see it.

Speaker 4886.32s - 887.96s

Why the fuck are you not remote? That doesn't make any sense at all.

Speaker 1892.7s - 892.9s

No, I do do a lot of, you know, on location things in our school district.

Speaker 4893.12s - 894.98s

Okay.

Speaker 1895.56s - 897.82s

A lot of companies. But there are several days I could very well be remote.

Speaker 6898.04s - 898.86s

A lot of companies are.

Speaker 1898.96s - 901.02s

So like August 6 or August 7th, perhaps.

Speaker 4901.12s - 901.6s

There you go.

Speaker 6901.9s - 903.54s

When there aren't kids at school.

Speaker 5903.74s - 903.96s

Yeah.

Speaker 1904.12s - 904.66s

That's true.

Speaker 6904.66s - 912.78s

Oh, it's so fucking true. But still, they wouldn't say I would be, they wouldn't let. When there aren't kids at school. Yeah. That's true. It's so fucking true. They wouldn't say I would be, they wouldn't let me do that. The kids are probably at the concert. You're supervising them. You're a chaperone.

Speaker 4913.14s - 918.28s

It's unbelievable how many companies are still like, oh, this job, that's 100% like in

Speaker 6918.28s - 924.9s

Microsoft Excel. Oh yeah, you have to commute to the office because I need to see you sit there. Like, fuck off. Like, give me a fucking break.

Speaker 1931.04s - 939.82s

To a certain extent, it would be easier to do work at, you know, in my office because, you know, there are certain permissions that, you know, you can only be on, like, a company computer to do and that kind of stuff. The problem with working from home is that there's always

Speaker 4939.82s - 960.1s

somebody at a company that the management remembers that, like, so like in my company, some guy got fired because he was working remote and then all he did all day was fucking play video games. And he got fired because of it. And now they just assume everybody's going to do that. But I'm like, these people have KPIs. Like if the KPIs are suffering, then it's going to be proof that, you know, they're not working. If everybody, if they're hitting all their

Speaker 6960.1s - 963.8s

KPIs, they should, they could work from fucking. If the work is getting done. Yeah, you can work from

Speaker 4963.8s - 989.04s

fucking Mars. Who gives a shit? That's what I'm talking about. Everybody listening relates to this. They're all like, yep, mm-hmm. Unless you're like literally working with your hands, like in a factory or something, pretty much every office job could be remote at this point. Like, it's just absolutely ridiculous. You invested in Teams, Microsoft Teams, which sucks, by the way. You know, I mean, I assume you don't... We have meetings at my office where people literally get on Teams and they're sitting 10 feet from each other it's like why are you even on

Speaker 1989.04s - 996.34s

teams just go to a room and talk stupidest shit in the world like going across town to a certain

Speaker 4996.34s - 1001.64s

school to a certain office so that we can have meetings when a lot of the time it's like can

Speaker 11001.64s - 1007s

can we just make this a virtual meeting because Because you're costing me gas here and time.

Speaker 41007.16s - 1008.42s

That's really fucking stupid.

Speaker 11009.14s - 1011.52s

I mean, that being said, it's only like a 10-minute drive.

Speaker 41011.62s - 1013.34s

So it's not that long. You get to expense that?

Speaker 11014.14s - 1018.66s

But it's annoying, especially when I'm always the one going to these meetings.

Speaker 41018.74s - 1019.96s

They're never coming to me.

Speaker 11020.94s - 1033.76s

Even when it seems like it would be more makes more sense to do so because they're meeting other people who work in my building and we're going to this one person in this other building. They should be coming to us. It's pretty wild.

Speaker 61035.54s - 1036.94s

But that's beside the point.

Speaker 41037.14s - 1037.92s

Okay, Mason, go.

Speaker 11038.54s - 1041.72s

Yeah, it was a pretty slow news week, as you guys could tell.

Speaker 61042.18s - 1102.36s

So the only thing that caught my eye was there is a new piece of anime merch that is actually not as lame as they usually come. It's not a stupid, a screen printed T-shirt or a weird plasticy figure. It's actually something you can use. We have a Fist of the North Star Kitchen Knife, which, you know, I was a little skepticalon because it's like $139 bucks, but not too bad. And you consider it's an anime-themed piece of merchandise that you can actually use in the kitchen. And it looks pretty badass. It's like this titanium-coated blue steel, laser-etched fist of the North Star character. And I don't know. I actually kind of like the look of it. I just thought it was funny because there was this big old article about how cool it is. And then the Kickstarter that was getting it overseas got suspended like yesterday. So it's literally not even something you can get right now.

Speaker 51102.6s - 1104.86s

But you did at one point. It might come back.

Speaker 61105.44s - 1109.08s

But as far as anime merch goes, it's pretty unique. And I don't know.

Speaker 11109.54s - 1111.12s

Yeah, looking at it, it's kind of cool.

Speaker 61111.42s - 1121.44s

But I don't know. With this kind of stuff, I wonder how good the quality of the knife is. I mean, it's from like an actual branded knife maker. So.

Speaker 11121.66s - 1127.96s

Oh, okay. But I also love how in the tweet that is in this article,

Speaker 61128.22s - 1133.5s

they show some pictures of it being used in action. And it's a picture of the knife sitting next to

Speaker 01133.5s - 1138.6s

like a cut loaf of bread. There's no way this knife is cutting bread. No, it's called a

Speaker 11138.6s - 1144.06s

Sankoku knife, which is like a kind of Japanese version of a kitchen knife. So it's used for like

Speaker 61144.06s - 1145.64s

vegetables, fish and meat. It's not used for like vegetables, fish, and meat.

Speaker 11145.86s - 1149s

It's not serrated like what you want for cutting bread.

Speaker 61149s - 1149.56s

You're not cutting up with this, man.

Speaker 11150.08s - 1150.72s

You're just not.

Speaker 61152.28s - 1153.24s

Lies, lies.

Speaker 11153.32s - 1154.92s

So I have nothing this week.

Speaker 61155.38s - 1157.68s

Good day. Go home. Let's get to our main topic.

Speaker 41157.68s - 1173.72s

I think all these articles are hilarious when they have the yen in them now because the yen is changing so fast that even this article is out of date. So it says this thing's $122 from six days ago. Wrong. It's not. It's cheaper than that. I'm fucking believable.

Speaker 61174.06s - 1176.46s

Though maybe it's right when people are listening to us.

Speaker 41176.5s - 1176.98s

Who knows?

Speaker 61177.24s - 1179.54s

People are literally going to look up articles on shit.

Speaker 41179.62s - 1197.54s

They're going to read this article from like three years ago about some like Jojo shoe or something and it's going to be like, this shoe is 10,000 yen or $100 because it's 100 to one. It's like nope, try $60. 60. Yeah. But it's like what we do when we read stuff and it's like back in my day I went to a baseball

Speaker 61197.54s - 1204.22s

game for two nickels and had a you know, we're like oh my goodness inflation and stuff. But this is

Speaker 41204.22s - 1205.46s

I get it. It's different.

Speaker 51205.66s - 1206.44s

It's literally cheaper.

Speaker 41206.84s - 1209.58s

It's cheaper in Japan now than it was there 30 years ago.

Speaker 51211.12s - 1212s

Like factually.

Speaker 41212.24s - 1213.88s

How does, how do you even wrap your head around that?

Speaker 51215.1s - 1215.94s

I can't.

Speaker 01216.02s - 1219.08s

I can't wrap my head around anything because that seems physically impossible.

Speaker 61219.76s - 1220.78s

Yeah, well, yeah.

Speaker 41220.78s - 1223.8s

I mean, Japan has really no inflation and it hasn't for a long time.

Speaker 11223.9s - 1225.56s

And now they have a weakest-fuck currency.

Speaker 41225.78s - 1230.38s

So as long as you're earning money in dollars, it's like fucking free-for-all.

Speaker 61231.22s - 1234.6s

Well, you can't trust numbers. They're all made up. They're constantly changing.

Speaker 41234.86s - 1235.22s

Well, yeah.

Speaker 61235.3s - 1236.84s

But what you can't trust is the alphabet.

Speaker 41237.58s - 1238.66s

Yes, the good segue.

Speaker 11239.14s - 1241.06s

Because that's not nearly as made up.

Speaker 41241.16s - 1241.82s

It's pretty static.

Speaker 11241.82s - 1242.2s

No, no.

Speaker 41242.34s - 1243.76s

It's not artificial in the slightest.

Speaker 61244.04s - 1245.34s

I heard the alphabet doesn't change much. It stays the same. Yeah. Well, you know, sometimes they introduce a new one to try to jazz made up. It's pretty static. No, no. It's not artificial in the slightest. I heard the alphabet doesn't change much.

Speaker 11245.44s - 1245.92s

It stays the same.

Speaker 41246.9s - 1247.96s

Yeah, well, you know, sometimes

Speaker 61247.96s - 1249.9s

they introduce a new one to try to jazz it up,

Speaker 41249.96s - 1251.22s

but it never really takes well.

Speaker 61251.78s - 1252s

All right.

Speaker 11252.12s - 1253.38s

Are you guys ever into pig Latin?

Speaker 61253.5s - 1254.4s

So explain this topic.

Speaker 11254.46s - 1257.7s

I never quite understood Pig Latin. Yeah, so

Speaker 61257.7s - 1259s

alphabet.

Speaker 01259.92s - 1263.98s

I don't know. It just seemed like a fun little game where essentially

Speaker 61263.98s - 1287.16s

the point of it is each of us have picked one anime per letter that we hold there, that we want to put on a pedestal that defines our taste as a certified banger. Just a, just a highlight show that you're like, ah, the best A show that I've seen, I want people to know about this. And we also picked one anime per letter that you wish never existed.

Speaker 01287.42s - 1305s

You want to slam dunk into the trash that just gives anime a bad name. And you're like, if I was king of the world, I would remove this anime from existence. So if we're going based on the first letter of the English translation of an anime. So for example, the anime Akunohana,

Speaker 61305.78s - 1317.64s

aka Flowers of Evil, would be an F anime. So it would go in the F category. So I think we had different ways of how we did our list because this was kind of a last second decision.

Speaker 01318.2s - 1320.48s

We'll get through as many letters as we can.

Speaker 61322.4s - 1329.14s

So Mitz, give us your rules, your mindset of how you made your list? Yeah.

Speaker 41329.54s - 1336.72s

I just picked shows that I thought we're good and then fucking terrible. But I tried to not be

Speaker 01336.72s - 1338.52s

super obvious about the good ones.

Speaker 51339.92s - 1340.62s

Like I tried to not,

Speaker 41340.76s - 1341.78s

I didn't want to pick like

Speaker 11341.78s - 1343.54s

12 kingdoms and all this other shit

Speaker 01343.54s - 1345.72s

that everybody knows I already like, you know?

Speaker 11347.86s - 1348.62s

We wouldn't be able to, we are not going down to T.

Speaker 41349.42s - 1357.28s

Yeah, we're not. And I'm not going to talk very much about these because we're never going to get through this topic. If we do, but for number A, I think.

Speaker 11357.98s - 1358.24s

Number A.

Speaker 41358.68s - 1359.62s

Number A. Number A.

Speaker 11359.62s - 1401.62s

Number A. Jesus. Air is a pretty good anime. It's a key visual arts show. It's pretty old at this point. Probably close to 20 years old.But very sad. It has that classic key visual arts art style. It's super hardcore depressing. A lot like Klanod is depressing. It's the same people that do Klonod. You know, it'll wreck you.You know, it's not a masterpiece, but it is good. I wouldn't say it's the best thing, but it's good. It's probably, you know, it's probably got an eight on my anime list, I had to guess. And for the not good, amnesia, because that anime... Jesus.

Speaker 41402.44s - 1405.36s

I was going to put another because that anime also sucks.

Speaker 61405.98s - 1407.78s

I almost had that on my list.

Speaker 41408.18s - 1412.68s

But there are some people that actually like that show because I don't know why, but amnesia's that show.

Speaker 11412.68s - 1418.02s

I think another is like an example of it being bad, but some people find it bad enough to be entertaining.

Speaker 41418.96s - 1445.22s

Well, amnesia is some girl like fucking trash light novel where some girl gets like abducted and put in a cage and all the boys are super sexy so it's supposed to be like hot like I don't know it's it's fucking terrible I don't know who enjoys amnesia but I don't want to be your friend if you like that anime what did you guys pick well um so I took a different kind of approach to this.

Speaker 11445.6s - 1473.9s

I kind of accidentally because I thought we were going to be a little special with how we made our lists. Especially since we don't want to be talking about the same anime over and over again. So I'm like, okay, let me think of some qualifiers to make my list more specific. So it's not necessarily good and not good anime. I made lists of anime that I expected to be bad, but I actually liked, and vice versa.Okay.

Speaker 01474.06s - 1495.04s

And some of these are not that extreme. Some of these are more like, oh, I thought this. It's not as if I thought this anime was going to be bad, bad, but I thought I wasn't going to like it and kind of things like that. So for the anime that I thought was bad slash would dislike but was good slash liked, this one goes to a sister's all you need.

Speaker 11497.76s - 1498.94s

I like how in my head.

Speaker 61498.94s - 1499.52s

I never watch that.

Speaker 51499.52s - 1506.36s

I'm like, oh, this topic will be about, you know, you get one show that, like, is the show of the A's.

Speaker 41506.38s - 1508.5s

And you have to pick through, oh, am I going to go with Akira?

Speaker 51508.8s - 1511.16s

Am I going to go with Akeira? Am I going to go with this show?

Speaker 41511.24s - 1514.84s

And you just really have to, you know, find the pinnacle.

Speaker 61514.84s - 1518.7s

You also said, don't pick the ones you always talk about.

Speaker 11518.86s - 1522.48s

I said, already it was going to be not accurate.

Speaker 61523.9s - 1527.82s

I never said, I won't, tell me about a sister is all you need.

Speaker 11527.94s - 1568.72s

Why is this a good show? Okay, okay. So a sister's all you need can be a really weird show. It's kind of sexual. It is a sister show. It's about a writer who is a ciscon and all of his light novels or whatever he's writing involvesciscons and that kind of stuff. So he's weird, but his friend group is so interesting because we got multiple writers of different things. One guy has an anime coming out, so he's dealing with that. One writer is really attracted to the main guy and is constantly naked because she hasto be naked to write her shows. She's also doing several. Yeah.

Speaker 61568.72s - 1571.92s

Wait, well, what? Clothes is all you need. You understand, Mitts?

Speaker 11572.04s - 1575.86s

How have I not seen this? She's naked to write. Yeah. You like this?

Speaker 41576.86s - 1577.54s

What was that?

Speaker 11578.12s - 1578.82s

You like this?

Speaker 41579.86s - 1581s

She has to, she has to start.

Speaker 11581s - 1584.22s

I mean, there were several points in this show that I was uncomfortable. Okay.

Speaker 01584.22s - 1588.8s

But I thought, because there's, like, this friend group does, it does some fun things.

Speaker 41588.94s - 1597.06s

Like every, I don't know if it was every episode, but frequently they would play interesting writing games where they come up with stories and plot lines.

Speaker 01597.64s - 1609.04s

And that was fun. And there's one girl that's in college. And the main character has a stepbrother who may or may not be pretending

Speaker 11609.04s - 1650.26s

to be a boy because he knows his stepbrother. It's a CISCon. So it gets a little awkward with that. I was surprised I like this show. So I have not seen it a long time, but I kind of want to rewatch it just to see if I was actually on something when I was watching it the first time.Okay. Moving on to the show that I was thinking I would like but ended up not liking a kebby sailor uniform. I was heavily disappointed by this one because it was weird and a sister is all you need is weird, but it didn't pretend to not be weird. A kebby sailor uniform was weird, but it acted as if it was totally normal to have a girl sniffing the...

Speaker 61650.26s - 1659.98s

The toenail clipper. Yeah. And then there's feet everywhere. And then the bug eyes. And too much.

Speaker 11662.22s - 1662.66s

Okay.

Speaker 61662.88s - 1668.42s

I'm just going to pretend, Carolina, this is your list of greatest anime ever, and you're going to have to defend it like it is.

Speaker 11669.12s - 1670.56s

Sure. Okay. Go ahead.

Speaker 61670.56s - 1757.96s

Perfect. So, yeah, for the A's, this was tricky. There's a lot of shows for A's. You have Attack on Titan. You have a Gretzco. You have a bunch of classics that I could have gone with, Ashtano Joe.But at the end of the day, I picked Asobi Asobase, which is just kind of my way of confirming to myself that sometimes comedy anime can actually be funny. And they're rare because just like we often say, oh, anime can't be scary. Ah, anime comedy never works. But when they do, they really land. This show is complete wild. It's nightmare fuel and engaging and just wacky on all fronts. And it just works for me. So I really enjoy it. And for the show, I would throw in the trash, kind of similar to Mitsugi where it kind of gets some love, but I just don't understand it,which is a town where you live, which is just a hyper, dramatic, romantic, love triangle, misunderstanding thing of this guy who moves back into his town and kind of reconnects with all these girls that he used to have sort of feelings for. And it's just a constant game of changing who you're in love with and being in a different romance and people are dying left and rightfrom just not like dramatic betrayals or anything they're just dying and all people are crying all the time and there's all this dramatic music what's that meant?

Speaker 41758.06s - 1762.52s

Sounds like I mean I haven't seen this so I don't really know but it sounds a little like

Speaker 51762.52s - 1763.44s

only yesterday

Speaker 61763.44s - 1769.12s

person goes back to their old hometown and has nostalgia and meets people that they liked or love or whatever.

Speaker 41769.12s - 1776.44s

Yeah, but only yesterday is like a heartfelt story about this lady's like growth into maturity and reflecting on where they came.

Speaker 61776.84s - 1781.52s

This is more of I liked Kim, but now Kim likes Joey, but Joey's going to die.

Speaker 41781.7s - 1784.9s

So Kim, it breaks me to live with Joe.

Speaker 01784.9s - 1801.46s

It's like trash romance, but they have these really die. So Kim, it breaks out with me to live with Joe. It's like trash romance, but they have these really heartfelt attempted moments with this really sad ballad-y music playing to just the most laughable writing. It's very cheesy. It's very egregious. It has potential in some capacity, but it just flounders.

Speaker 41801.62s - 1802.26s

It's egregious.

Speaker 61802.82s - 1803.84s

It's not good.

Speaker 41804.24s - 1806.8s

I could have gone without seeing it. That's funny.

Speaker 61808.08s - 1808.44s

B's.

Speaker 41809.2s - 1810.2s

Oh, yeah, the B's.

Speaker 61810.2s - 1810.48s

What do we got?

Speaker 41810.6s - 1812.04s

The A's and the B.

Speaker 61812.76s - 1815.82s

So for the A's and the Bs have both had a lot of good options.

Speaker 41816.34s - 1817.16s

Yeah, well, of course.

Speaker 61817.66s - 1820.46s

So for the B, there was a lot of choices, as you said.

Speaker 41821.58s - 1914.88s

I picked Black Lagoon second barrage. Really could have been Black Lagoon the first season, whatever, but at least I didn't pick Black Butler, right? So, because Black Lagoon is fucking awesome in every way. It's probably one of the best action shows out there. It always will be, I imagine. Revy's awesome. You know, I like all the characters in Black Lagoon. For the bad, I'm just going to move on from Black Lagoon. It doesn't need much explanation. Yeah, the Twitch said, Bacano.I thought about that, but I was like, Bacano, yeah. It's probably better than Black Lagoon, actually, possibly, but it's a... I thought Black Lagoon was a little slightly deeper cut. I feel like we don't talk about it ever. And then for the not good,a show that 99% of people have never heard of, Awe Holnil, otherwise known as Blue Flames, another anime with Blue and at Mason's nodding. I haven't seen this anime in a while, but I recall being about an hour long, and it's about this guy who just like, what is he doing? He's like going around trying to ruin some girl's life and being a player and trying to, like, seduce women, but with ill intentions. And it's just like a fucking dirt bag. And it's a really not feel-good anime. I can't remember what the hell he's trying. Let's see, Blue Flames anime. So can't remember what the hell he's from. Let's see, Blue, Blue Flames anime. So what's this fucking thing? No, I don't want blue, I don't want blue. Owry, whole no. There we go, anime.

Speaker 61915.84s - 1918.4s

Let's see, it's, uh... Google's trying to save you from learning about this.

Speaker 41918.94s - 1938.12s

I'm just trying to fuck it up. But I can't even find the synopsis. It's so obscure that like... All right, so, set in the early 80s, a young man dreams of becoming a renowned comic writer in years to come. His name, blah, blah, blah. He has no money, only a dream. When he feels overwhelmed by his lack of ability, he buys some stomach torture. Jesus, this fucking synopsis

Speaker 01938.12s - 1944.58s

ass. This anime is not good. But it is, it's pretty rough to watch. Next.

Speaker 41945.52s - 1946.08s

All right.

Speaker 11946.5s - 1993.62s

Continuing with shows I thought would be bad, but I actually was good or I liked Bentow. So originally this show, like my list started off with shows that had a lot of fan service that I ended up liking, but I didn't see and I didn't have enough shows for it to make this list. But Bentow carried over because there's a whole lot of boobs in this show. But there's a whole lot of fighting overfood. And it's, it's just crazy seeing like all these characters doing like drop kicks on other characters fighting for the half off bentos in the supermarket. And this is just a thing that people do. It's kind of like fight club. And it's so funny. It's just, I don't hear people talk about Bento enough. I think, yeah, it's great. Did you guys like Bentow?

Speaker 61994.46s - 2009.68s

I enjoyed bento. It's, yeah, like you said, Fight Club, just for sad, poor college students. Well, I guess they're college students. Of course, they're poor. But it just, it just takes itself not seriously at all, while the characters take themselves completely seriously. And it works really well.

Speaker 42010.88s - 2017.36s

Yeah. I haven't seen Bento, but I lived it for a year or so, because I used to go stare at the

Speaker 02017.36s - 2019.86s

bentos in fucking Japanese convenience stores, or

Speaker 62019.86s - 2021.92s

not convenience stores necessarily, but grocery stores

Speaker 42021.92s - 2031.24s

all the time. And there are ones that people like the best, and they do wait for them. And when they show up, you better be there or they be gone.

Speaker 12033.06s - 2033.66s

All right.

Speaker 42033.82s - 2041.1s

And on my list of things that I thought I was going to really like, but didn't, I have Blue Period, continuing with the Blues.

Speaker 12041.46s - 2083.52s

I'm not saying that Blue Period was bad. I'm just saying I was surprisingly not invested in that show. I also did not really love how the main character was just never had any experience or interest in doing art, but then all of a sudden is this great artist. And yeah, I know there was a bit of training that he did going into it, but still, the fact that he made this drastic life decision to pursue art so quickly before he had even did it for as like a passion or anything,it's just, I didn't really like that. And frankly, it was kind of forgettable for me. So, yeah, was a little bit disappointed by Blue Period. A lot of blues on this list.

Speaker 62083.68s - 2085.18s

I'm sorry to break the chain. Blues are everywhere in anime. A lot of good bees this list. I'm sorry to break the chain.

Speaker 12085.18s - 2086.5s

Blues are everywhere in anime.

Speaker 62087.5s - 2095.8s

A lot of good bees, Barakaman, Beledano of Sadness. But my good bee has to be Berserk.

Speaker 02096.22s - 2097.34s

It's just a classic.

Speaker 62097.86s - 2099.66s

Everyone knows it. You love it.

Speaker 02100.34s - 2101.18s

And not for not good.

Speaker 52101.34s - 2104.24s

I'm also going berserk, 2016.

Speaker 02104.52s - 2104.94s

Oh, fair.

Speaker 62106s - 2107.34s

Yeah, that's for fucking shit. I mean, it's just not not good. I'm also going berserk, 2016. Yeah, that's for fucking shit.

Speaker 52107.74s - 2109.84s

I mean, it's just not very good.

Speaker 62109.96s - 2123.1s

Honestly, I originally had bunny drop as this joke for being both the good and the bad. Still also works, but it's actually good. No, bad, I'm going to say brand new animal, aka BNA.

Speaker 52123.62s - 2134.44s

I really like Trigger. I really love their sense of style and just bombastic nature. And this was just such a disappointment. Not that even it was aggressively bad.

Speaker 62134.52s - 2163.6s

It was just kind of just crippling mediocre and lackluster and just kind of fizzled out. And I think a lot of the ones on my list are not going to be outright bad shows, just ones that I got excited for similar to Curines and it was just left down by so but Brerzirk if you haven't seen it what are you doing what are you doing I don't know probably listening to us uh moving on all right so the C category

Speaker 42163.6s - 2171.98s

what did I pick? I don't even remember. Oh, yeah. I picked Code Gios for the good because the anime's awesome,

Speaker 62172.64s - 2183.26s

and we never talk about it ever. And La Lusche is awesome. And for the bad... Surprise Jibun Wo didn't make that list of best anime songs. That's true.

Speaker 42184.48s - 2186.04s

I know that's not the name of the song,

Speaker 62186.28s - 2187.3s

but everyone knows the lyrics.

Speaker 42187.3s - 2196.06s

I know what you mean by that, though. And then for the bad, I picked Charlotte because that anime was totally ass. I'm wondering if we're going to have any overlap, because I know we have all of ours blocked out, so I'm kind of waiting for it.

Speaker 12197.18s - 2203.78s

But yeah, Charlotte was super terrible. All right. Is that all you wanted to say on C? Yeah.

Speaker 42204.2s - 2205.12s

We don't have a lot of time.

Speaker 12207s - 2214.34s

Shows I thought I was going to like but didn't. Oh, wait a minute. I got this mixed up. Damn it. Okay. Nope.

Speaker 62214.4s - 2216.46s

Stick with it. Call the night. Why is it amazing?

Speaker 12216.7s - 2219.72s

No. I didn't like all the night. I thought it was boring.

Speaker 52220.18s - 2222.52s

I don't know how I did.

Speaker 12222.52s - 2273.64s

I accidentally put two shows that I expected to like but didn't. And yeah, so number one is called a night. Didn't enjoy that. Thought it was going to be fun. I thought it was going to be lighthearted and enjoyable, but it wasn't for me. I thought it was boring. Now for the second show that I thought I was going to like but didn't. This comes with actually an asterisk. So, Cympunk Edrenners. I liked Cyberpunk Edrenners. I liked the first half of it.I thought it was freaking awesome. I was going to give it like a 4.5 out of five up until like the midway point. And then I just hate what they did to the main character. And I hated the ending. Yeah, it just ruined itself for me. That's all I'll say about that.I'm going to go see if I can find another C-show that would work better in this list. Mason, you go. Yeah.

Speaker 62274.32s - 2279.3s

Lady Emery in the chat, welcome back, by the way, says, Cowboy Bebop, solid pick.

Speaker 52279.72s - 2280.98s

Yeah, it's so obvious, though.

Speaker 62281.86s - 2352.42s

Yeah, but, you know, if you're picking a sea for all of your seas, it gets pretty competitive. I went with Chiayaafuru. I still stand by this being one of the best sports shows out there. And for it to introduce just a sport that pretty much everyone, I would bet, in the Western audience has never heard of before and still make it engaging. I think it's very respectable. Yeah, it's good. And speaking of sports that people know about and made it awful, I have to go with Cestis, this abysmal CG Roman gladiator fighting anime that I did for impressions. And for some reason, I was just like, oh, like, maybe it'll get better as I watched episode, an episode after some of the worst stuff I've ever seen. This was one of the most objectively bad anime on this list. And I'm upset that I watched it.And I advise you not to, which is probably likely because I'm betting no one to watch the show either so you're smarter than me audience you're welcome all right for the

Speaker 42352.42s - 2358.02s

I almost had City Hunter on here as well because that's such a beloved show and so iconic and

Speaker 62358.02s - 2362.26s

just aesthetically awesome and I just can't get into it because the main character is just such

Speaker 42362.26s - 2372.1s

a douchebag you said I feel guilty He's too unsurious for me also. He's supposed to be like this, I don't know, unstoppable hitman slash person for hire.

Speaker 62372.1s - 2373.02s

Goofy womanizer.

Speaker 42373.48s - 2377.74s

But instead he's just like sliding under tables and acting like a madman. Like, what are you doing?

Speaker 62377.8s - 2382.24s

Yeah, I just, I want to like City Hunter because then I'll be cool, but I don't.

Speaker 42382.24s - 2386.72s

So let's go through a couple more letters if we have time.

Speaker 62387.7s - 2390.48s

I'm looking up how impossible it is to get permanent residency in Japan,

Speaker 42390.68s - 2391.42s

and it is not.

Speaker 12391.92s - 2395.44s

I love how we're not even going to get halfway through our halfway alphabet.

Speaker 42395.94s - 2398.36s

I knew we were not going to get through all of it.

Speaker 12398.86s - 2402.24s

So for the D's, yeah, Dragon Pink.

Speaker 62402.54s - 2403.4s

Yeah, you know it.

Speaker 42403.44s - 2407s

You love it. Yep, yep, Caroline's trying to decide if this is...

Speaker 12407s - 2408.88s

We're gone Dragon Ball for a different Dragon Show.

Speaker 42409.12s - 2413.92s

Caroline's trying to decide if Dragon Pink is inappropriate or not. What do you think? Mm-hmm.

Speaker 12413.92s - 2415.54s

Just, we have no time to this.

Speaker 42415.54s - 2419.38s

Let's just say, there's a Dildo Cobra. Oh, my God.

Speaker 12419.4s - 2420s

And Dragon Pan.

Speaker 42420s - 2456.12s

I'm just saying it's important to note. For the bad, if I'm throwing a bamboozle at Gohan-Gohan Trunks fan, Dragon Ball Z movie 11, Bio Broly. That movie is fucking terrible. What were they thinking? Not only does it only contain, I think, Kid, Trunks, and Goten, but it also has fucking Broly for the third time that he's like a green slime version of himself. A horrible movie. All they do is get terrorized by Broly and then fight him. I don't know. It's a bad movie. Very bad.

Speaker 62456.82s - 2459.28s

I was going to ask how many Broly movies are there?

Speaker 42459.4s - 2461.6s

There's one recently. Four or five actually.

Speaker 62463.06s - 2465.72s

Because the recent one wasn't too bad from what I remember.

Speaker 42466.74s - 2467.02s

Yeah.

Speaker 62467.86s - 2473.04s

Well, the recent one was fine, but this is, you know, this was the third.

Speaker 42473.2s - 2485.1s

So the Broly movies are like movies, ooh, seven? Oh, man. I don't know. Move on. We don't need to take time.

Speaker 12485.16s - 2566.04s

I'm talking about Broly. It's a third Broly movie. It's very horrible. It's probably the worst Dragon Ball movie. We're getting into the area of the alphabet that I had struggled with, even though we're probably not going to reach the part where I had all these different ideas, but they're going to go in the trash. Okay. So these, there weren't like a lot on the list that I could pick from, especially with my criteria. I went with Dr. Elise as a show that I thought wasn't going to be all that good, but I was kind of surprised by, you know. I talked a bit about it recently when we were doing what we've been watching. But, yeah, I was just surprised that I like the couple in it more than I like the couple in seventh loop, or at least what I've seen of seven loops so far. Also, the doctor stuff seems pretty legit in that show. Here's another one with a little asterisk next to it, because, okay, I put down Dorao for things that I didn't like, because I love Doro, but the second half really fell off for me. Not even just like the second half as a whole, mostly just the ending. And then there were a couple episodes I wasn't loving. The first half of Dooro. Awesome. I give it a good score, and I will say that I love Dooro, but I'm going to say was really disappointed by the ending. Ending half, I'll say. Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 62567.64s - 2569.9s

Yeah, D has some great ones

Speaker 12569.9s - 2572.12s

from Descending Stories,

Speaker 62572.28s - 2595.08s

Rakugo Shinju, the second season of it, which is a certified classic in my book. The Death Billiards and Death Parade combo, I think, is a great series. But I'm going to expand on Caroline's answer from Dororo to Hedoro, which is just the most confusing two names to have side by side on this list.

Speaker 52595.18s - 2595.82s

But we're going to do it.

Speaker 62596.2s - 2622.32s

I love this manga. I love this anime. It looks so goofy. I love the personality and characterization to it. And it's just a wild world that anime is all about just taking something that is so off the wall goofycould not exist in any other medium. Does it well here. For the not good shows that I want to push off of a cliff, mostly because of the discourse and you know, waves that it made, but is darlingin the Franks, which was

Speaker 52622.32s - 2628.72s

I don't, it just was a massively popular show that I think,

Speaker 62629.72s - 2643.66s

I think just, I don't know why it got so big. I know why it did, but I don't like that it did. I don't like that this was the face of anime for so many years. And it makes me mad. And I wish to delete it from the history books. Please thank you very much.

Speaker 12645.94s - 2649.7s

You know what I was thinking about when I was going through the anime?

Speaker 62649.7s - 2650.66s

Why is she a big spaceship? Sorry.

Speaker 12651.34s - 2658.32s

Some kind of similar to Darling and the Franks, Babylon. It was kind of big when it came out, but everybody hated it by the end. I don't.

Speaker 62658.64s - 2660.44s

Was it that big? I don't know.

Speaker 12660.52s - 2665.82s

Maybe it was just on anime YouTube because that's around the time I was watching a lot of that.

Speaker 62666s - 2698.22s

So I saw a lot of people talking about Babylon. It's like, oh, my God, the show has not finished yet, but it's going to be the big stance. And people were hyped about it. Meanwhile, I'm just like, oh, it doesn't really seem that interesting. But I started watching it. And I'm even watching the first half, I'm like, this doesn't seem that great. And then the ending shit the bed. And I'm like, I told you guys. I told you so. I don't want to spoil my next pick too much. But I think Babylon, if it was as big as you're saying, probably tapped into that sort of pseudo-intellectual philosophical edginess that gets, oh, I'm a 400 IQ anime watcher.

Speaker 02698.26s - 2703.54s

And this is really for the smart, intelligent watcher. And wasn't.

Speaker 62703.94s - 2707.7s

So maybe. But what do you have for E? Mitz.

Speaker 42708.32s - 2754s

So for E, I have electromagnetic girlfriend for the good, which is a horror show. That's two episode OVA. Extremely good. I don't know where you would find that, but I recommend watching it. It's called Den Pataki Nakanojo in Japanese, and it's extremely solid. It's pretty twisted at times, but it's not too terrible. But I definitely recommend that. It'd be a great Halloween anime. And of course, for the bad, it's got to be X-Arm. Simply for the friggin animation alone in that, it was just abysmal, honestly, very difficult to even watch when it's that hideous. And it kind of reminded me of the Rinkai anime. We're going to talk about later at times.

Speaker 52755s - 2757.8s

But not as bad as X-Arm.

Speaker 12758.92s - 2762.38s

For me, I only had two E-animas on my list,

Speaker 52762.38s - 2766s

and by my criteria, it wasn't really going to fit all that well,

Speaker 12766.16s - 2772.36s

but by the criteria of the overall topic, I suppose if it's all right, for the good erased,

Speaker 52772.48s - 2779.4s

I love erased, and for the not good, Endo and Kobayashi, the latest on Sundari,

Speaker 12779.6s - 2791.8s

Lisa Llech, or whatever her name is. Oh, God. That was a shame. That whole season of my passes was so bad. All right. Continue, Mason.

Speaker 62793.52s - 2833.78s

So, yeah, both of these shows for my E are both very similar in that they're, like Babylon, dark, philosophical, brooding, edgy shows. But one, I think, does it exceptionally well, and one is way too much of a tryhard. And the good is ergo proxy, and the bad is Elfin Lead, which if you've seen any of them, you know, cannot be further apart in their execution of restraint and, you know, mindfulness. So, yeah, one really good show and one really aggressively bad one. So that's what I got for these.

Speaker 42833.78s - 2834.62s

Elfin lead is not aggressively bad.

Speaker 62835.62s - 2839.54s

It is aggressive and it is bad. Separately.

Speaker 42839.54s - 2841.12s

There are a lot of people that like Elfin Lead.

Speaker 62841.86s - 2841.86s

I know. And I wish they didn't have that show to like. people to like Elphin Lead.

Speaker 42844.04s - 2844.92s

I know, and I wish they didn't have that show to like.

Speaker 62848.56s - 2850s

For me, a couple

Speaker 42850s - 2894.02s

deep cuts here. For F, Fantastic Children, which is a pretty strong anime. It's sci-fi. I don't know if people, probably not many people have seen Fantastic Children, but I do recommend it. It's got a good opening. It's got some good, strong plot twists in it. Interesting character models. Definitely opening. It's got some good strong plot twist in it. Interesting character models. Definitely recommend. And for the bad, the horrible Final Fantasy Unlimited, which has got to have, man, what does this thing have online? I'm surprised that it's even in the sixes. It's a low sixes, but probably the worst thing that's ever come out of Final Fantasy other than Final Fantasy 15 andjust terrible terrible fucking show yeah that's it

Speaker 52894.02s - 2895.5s

I love the Twitch chat

Speaker 62895.5s - 2900.76s

all your suggestions are very good keep them going I like it yeah they're being very nice

Speaker 42900.76s - 2901.38s

except they're lying

Speaker 12901.38s - 2903.96s

for a show that I thought

Speaker 42903.96s - 2905.96s

was not going to dislike but did

Speaker 12905.96s - 2948.22s

like, for F, I chose Food Wars. For obvious reasons, you guys know I'm not huge on fan service, and Food Wars is full of fan service, but as also a fan ofthe Food Network and watching good food being made, I actually thought the fan service in this show was kind of funny, especially since it was very unabashedly equal in its gender usage. And yeah, I did not really like it after like the first few seasons, but first couple seasonsof Food Wars is solid, and I like it. Mason. I forgot, I didn't have anything for the other side of the coin

Speaker 62948.22s - 2949.98s

for F. Nothing? No.

Speaker 12950.24s - 2951.76s

Let's see. Is there anything from the chat?

Speaker 62954.34s - 2955.76s

Flying Witch was pretty bad.

Speaker 12956.04s - 2964.32s

Oh, oh, you know what? You're right. Lady Emery just reminded me of it. Yeah, Flying Witch that fits was not huge on Flying Witch. I thought it was going to like a button. I thought.

Speaker 62964.32s - 2965.06s

Flipflapers, a good show. Fruit spacks. That's solid choice. Yeah, F is which that fits was not huge on playing which. I thought it was like a button.

Speaker 12965.44s - 2967.3s

Flapper is a good show. Fruit spacks. That's solid choice.

Speaker 62968.6s - 2977.26s

Yeah, F is chock full of great shows from full metal alchemist to Freeran. I got to go with Fully Cooley. Obligatory Mason comment.

Speaker 42977.26s - 2982.3s

Oh, man. We don't need to. What a, what a dedicated fan.

Speaker 62982.98s - 3031.34s

Listen, I don't need to say anymore because this is not your first time listening to this show. And for bad, I'm going to go with the disappointing farewell, my dear Kramer. This is the ladies soccer anime that just was so gutted for animation and budget that it just looked so bad. It, you know, once again, had a potential well-loved manga. The movie that it got later with some animation definitely assisted it, but it was borderline unwatchable for pretty much all episodes that it existed under. So that was pretty disappointing. So, yeah, well, please go away. I don't like that show. All right.

Speaker 43031.42s - 3036.54s

So for G, I did the same thing. I went with Golden Boy. It's so good.

Speaker 63037.38s - 3038.56s

You can't not pick it.

Speaker 43038.68s - 3041.48s

It's those couple episode OVAs, my guy.

Speaker 63041.68s - 3042.32s

Yeah, and I saw...

Speaker 43042.32s - 3044.2s

It just tap into that primal current.

Speaker 63044.2s - 3045.72s

And I saw a YouTube thing

Speaker 43045.72s - 3075.44s

about Golden Boy the day because apparently the manga goes way further and it gets super more raunchy, like not even like way raunchier, which is pretty remarkable because I mean that motorcycle episode is pretty rough. Golden Boy, the funniest anime I've ever seen, bar none. I will always love it. And for the bad, a Godzilla singular point, because I just have no patience for Technobabble at all, like get that away from me. I, uh, I, uh, I will always love it. I, uh, I will always love it and for the bad a Godzilla singular point because I just have no patience for techno babble at alllike get that away from me I just I don't know can't handle it okay yeah

Speaker 53075.44s - 3078.24s

me for the G's

Speaker 43078.24s - 3080.34s

I could not think of one

Speaker 13080.34s - 3094.14s

that I thought was going to be bad but actually turned out good I did think of one that I thought I going to be bad but actually turned out good. I did think of one that I thought I was going to really like but ended up not loving. Not saying it's bad, but I wasn't

Speaker 63094.14s - 3103.54s

feeling it. GERN. Lagan. No, I almost had that as my G1. For the good? Yeah. Yeah, I know

Speaker 13103.54s - 3105.28s

it's a big thing.

Speaker 63105.82s - 3105.92s

Here's the thing.

Speaker 13108.42s - 3125.8s

I guess I just don't like any Mecca. I have yet to come across a Mecca show that I'm like, oh, my God, I love the show. It's usually I'm kind of lukewarm about it or don't like at all. Gur and Logan, I'm more on the lukewarm side. There were points of it I liked. But overall, just did not hit for me.

Speaker 63126.38s - 3131.46s

That's fair. That's fair. Too much digging.

Speaker 13132.76s - 3134.36s

It's totally memeable. I love the memes.

Speaker 63134.58s - 3203.96s

Yeah. It's got spirit. So for my good in the G, originally I was going to do Ghost in the Shell, but I was really trying to not pick movies on this list because I feel like movies just have more of an unfair advantage in my headspace of being very memorable and pedestal-worthy. So instead, I'm just going to do Ghost in the Shell, the TV series, because that was also still really amazing and solid and just continued to make that franchise and series really well-rounded and versed, and I like how they took it in a different direction. So yeah, Ghost in the Shell is amazing, no matter which way you watch it. Maybe not the new 2045, whatever it is, but OG goes in the shell. Good stuff. For bad, not good? Oh, there's so much to choose from. You could choose the disappointingness of Guilty Crown. You could do the Love Decaedron pentagram that is gamers. You could do Gibeate to go with the X-arm that Mitts talked about earlier. There's so many that just all of them wholesale.Just we'd be better without as a society. And I'm going to go with gamers at the end.

Speaker 03203.96s - 3206.4s

That was just the peak of the

Speaker 63206.4s - 3213.5s

annoying rom-com triangle taken to the extreme and uh yeah keeping it moving one more

Speaker 43213.5s - 3220.18s

maybe one more here keeping it moving with the h's listen it's got to be harem labyrinth in another

Speaker 63220.18s - 3228.72s

world it's Roxanne all day every day awesome great I. Great. I mean, come on. She got her own

Speaker 43228.72s - 3235.22s

three-hour ASMR product this to buy. I guess people love Roxanne. They love it. They love the,

Speaker 03235.22s - 3241.2s

they love the booty is what they love. And she was cheeked up. So she definitely works those hamstrings,

Speaker 43241.4s - 3265.96s

gets a lift in the butto telling you what, yep, indeed, doing the squats. And for the bad, I went with Hanibato because I'm just very tired of sports anime featuring mostly or entirely women, because as you will hear later, they are just routinely bad. So I don't know why they can't figure this out. It's not hard. Why can't they figure it out?

Speaker 63266.7s - 3290.82s

I liked the beginning of Hanibato. But it's like... It looked good. It had potential. It was about the sport. And then halfway through, they're like, you know what?Let's have some weird supernatural powers and weird relationship, like drama, and just all this weird stuff that distracted from the sport I was there to watch. It was so disappointing.

Speaker 43291.06s - 3295.94s

Lady Emery is so funny. She's like, Mitz and I are total opposites. I had harem in the labyrinth as my bad.

Speaker 53296s - 3297.6s

I'm like, this is obviously a joke.

Speaker 43297.92s - 3302s

I'm making a joke, obviously. I mean...

Speaker 53302s - 3304.62s

Is it just a joke? It's just a joke. This is...

Speaker 43304.62s - 3306.72s

Seriously.

Speaker 03307.76s - 3311.68s

Yeah, we'll talk about sports anime with girls later, but I just don't...

Speaker 53311.68s - 3322.48s

It's the same as with guys. It's just another gender. Honestly, why can you not fuck this up? I don't understand, but yeah. Continue. I don't know.

Speaker 13323.78s - 3326.96s

I feel like I am going to get a lot of heat for this one.

Speaker 43327.12s - 3327.28s

Nah.

Speaker 13327.28s - 3413.36s

So a show that I thought I was not going to like, but ended up liking just a snidgin more than I probably should have. And I'm not saying I love this show, but I'm saying that I surprisingly found things to like about it. Happy Sugar Life. It is a show about this insane girl who finds this little little girl, like she's like, I don't know, seven, eight adorable. She's so cute. And this teenage girl finds her, she's like abandoned for some reason.I forget why. But she decides to take her in as kind of like a little sister might be might have like more uncomfortable feelings towards this little girl but she's kind of like a yonderay so she's trying to keep other people from like taking the girl from her and so that they can have their happy sugar life in their house. And, yeah, so yonderay things happen, but it's all in pursuit of, you know, having this little girls today in her life, surprisingly entertaining. It's not good. It's surprisingly entertaining for me. Yeah, don't, don't criticize me about that. On the other side of the coin, something I thoughtI was going to like but didn't. Hanasaki Iroha. And I just find it funny

Speaker 53413.36s - 3414.94s

because I put it next to Happy Sugar Life,

Speaker 63415.1s - 3416.06s

but Happy Sugar comedy.

Speaker 53417.66s - 3419.18s

Hanasaki era is,

Speaker 13419.8s - 3431.42s

it's a fine anime about a girl who is working in her, I think, grandmother's bathhouse, spa, whatever. Ro Khan thing.

Speaker 63432.14s - 3432.46s

Yeah.

Speaker 13432.66s - 3433.36s

That anime's awesome.

Speaker 63433.5s - 3435.42s

And I should like it.

Speaker 13435.8s - 3436.9s

I just don't like it.

Speaker 43437.48s - 3438.72s

It's in your bad category?

Speaker 53439.94s - 3440.22s

Yeah.

Speaker 63440.52s - 3441.48s

I admit slowly dawning.

Speaker 53441.54s - 3442.44s

Oh my goodness.

Speaker 63443.24s - 3443.38s

What?

Speaker 53443.38s - 3444.32s

I just didn't.

Speaker 43444.38s - 3445.84s

You have Gurin, like, wait a second.

Speaker 03446.14s - 3446.52s

Wait a minute.

Speaker 13447.98s - 3450.26s

She has Hanukasa Iraa in the bad category.

Speaker 43450.26s - 3452.34s

These are not necessarily bad shows.

Speaker 63452.5s - 3453.88s

There are just shows I didn't like.

Speaker 43455.02s - 3456.8s

Or it didn't like as much as I should have.

Speaker 63456.9s - 3459.46s

Hanasaki Iraa I really did not like actually.

Speaker 43460.52s - 3462.28s

Not the worst anime I've ever seen.

Speaker 63462.68s - 3464.72s

But I thought I was going to like it.

Speaker 03464.72s - 3466.64s

And it was such a disappointment to me.

Speaker 13466.86s - 3468.06s

Oh, I see. You play it by different rules.

Speaker 03468.06s - 3472.5s

People are going to think I'm going crazy because of my list. Sorry, guys.

Speaker 63472.5s - 3476.76s

Yeah, I mean, you got Gur and LaGan and the Badge also. People worship that.

Speaker 43477.88s - 3482.14s

I've given the little asterisk. That is why it's there.

Speaker 63482.42s - 3485s

Oh, why didn't you pick Arosk war for your good show?

Speaker 43485.08s - 3486.06s

I've never seen that.

Speaker 63486.12s - 3487.76s

Oh, it's not a kid.

Speaker 43488.44s - 3491.98s

The women, they tore at their hair and beat at their chest when Kamina died.

Speaker 63492.38s - 3495.16s

And the men, they're still masturbating to Roko, to Yoko.

Speaker 43496.06s - 3496.38s

So.

Speaker 13496.68s - 3498.08s

I was sad when Kamina died.

Speaker 53498.12s - 3498.32s

See?

Speaker 13498.42s - 3499.44s

But you have to agree.

Speaker 53499.56s - 3500.44s

Did you tear at your hair?

Speaker 13500.44s - 3501.24s

Like the Romans?

Speaker 53501.24s - 3501.32s

Like the romance?

Speaker 13501.78s - 3503.22s

And jumped the shark at the end.

Speaker 43503.82s - 3504.84s

Oh, I hate Super Robot.

Speaker 13504.96s - 3505.9s

I think it's the dumbest thing ever.

Speaker 43506.2s - 3508.74s

Picking up a planet and throwing it as a mecca is

Speaker 13508.74s - 3511.02s

amongst the dumbest things I've ever seen.

Speaker 63511.12s - 3512.86s

And it's almost like they just gave up on the story.

Speaker 13513.1s - 3513.7s

They're like, fuck it.

Speaker 63514.38s - 3514.84s

Fuck it.

Speaker 43514.86s - 3515.84s

He can throw a planet now.

Speaker 13517.34s - 3517.74s

Nope.

Speaker 43517.94s - 3521.12s

I just want to tell people to take my list with a grain of salt

Speaker 13521.12s - 3526.56s

and the specific conditions I gave these picks.

Speaker 43526.64s - 3529.48s

How do we have Mason broke the rules on this next one?

Speaker 13529.86s - 3531.94s

How do we not have a single overlap?

Speaker 43532.1s - 3532.56s

Go ahead, Mason.

Speaker 13532.86s - 3533.44s

We broke the rules.

Speaker 63534.26s - 3535.18s

I broke the rules.

Speaker 43535.38s - 3543.2s

There are so many good ones I have for H. You know, you have harem labyrinth in another world. You have Heavenly Deluxe. You have Hokea. Oh, yeah.

Speaker 63544.3s - 3546.86s

You have haiku. haiku. Um,

Speaker 43547s - 3556.16s

yeah, but Hajima is not the English title. But it is the translated, uh, title on English stuff.

Speaker 63556.16s - 3561.22s

It's not like the fighting or whatever. What? It's, what? It's called fighting spirit.

Speaker 43562.28s - 3568.46s

Nobody calls it that. It's called Hajimae Noipo on the websites.

Speaker 63568.66s - 3569.32s

You go anywhere.

Speaker 43570.2s - 3572.48s

Like so, the sequels are called Fighting Spirit.

Speaker 63573.24s - 3574.74s

I'm going to type Fighting Spirit anime.

Speaker 43575.04s - 3575.76s

I really don't care.

Speaker 63576.3s - 3579.36s

I want to look up Hajimeoepo.

Speaker 43579.5s - 3579.9s

Let's see.

Speaker 63579.9s - 3582.78s

It came right up as Fighting Spirit, so I don't know.

Speaker 43583.5s - 3584.46s

It came right up as?

Speaker 03584.64s - 3586.9s

Like you on Cruncherell, it's called Hajima Noepo.

Speaker 63587s - 3588.62s

You go on my anime list, it's called...

Speaker 43588.62s - 3590.16s

Oh, technically on...

Speaker 63590.16s - 3590.84s

Fighting Spirit.

Speaker 43591.18s - 3592.36s

It's called Finding Spirit on Mel.

Speaker 63592.56s - 3595.12s

Technically on Wikipedia, it's called The First Step,

Speaker 43595.24s - 3597.18s

which is literally what a Hajimaepo means,

Speaker 63597.38s - 3599.18s

which is a dumb fucking title, but...

Speaker 43601.32s - 3603.84s

So, yeah, if we're calling it that, it's Hajimae Noepo.

Speaker 63604.38s - 3606.8s

You know, Chi Hayafru, one of the great sports anime,

Speaker 43607.22s - 3610.34s

Hajminoipo say right up there as well.

Speaker 63610.42s - 3613.66s

I mean, it's a 10 out of 10. It's a classic. It'll keep you going forever.

Speaker 43613.8s - 3614.44s

But not iconic.

Speaker 63618.24s - 3619s

Ipo is...

Speaker 43619.64s - 3625.04s

You guys threw poor Ipo in the garbage. Did you even bring up I? I did. Oh, well, I don't remember. Yeah, it came and went like the wind. Did you even bring up EPO? I did.

Speaker 63626.04s - 3627.02s

Oh, well, I don't remember.

Speaker 43627.22s - 3628.38s

It came and went like the wind.

Speaker 63629.3s - 3634.54s

Well, EPO's pretty, I mean, also I messed up on that episode because you brought up Detective Conan.

Speaker 43634.98s - 3642.06s

And in my head, I was just so much associating you saying Conan with Future Boy Conan.

Speaker 63643.24s - 3645.68s

For the longest time, I thought those two things were the same. Like, I just, I was like, oh, he's talking about Future Boy Conan? For the longest time I thought those two things were the same.

Speaker 13647.24s - 3651.44s

Like I just I was like oh he's talking about future boy Conan and I was like oh well future

Speaker 63651.44s - 3683.32s

boy Conan you know it's pretty cool but not iconic and I was like oh it's something about first me and you gave me a look and I just didn't register that you were saying Detective Conan you said Detective Conan I just didn't register and like later that night I was like, oh, he was talking about the other Conan. Yeah, he's pretty iconic. And for the not good H's, I wanted to do something funny, but I couldn't not pick how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom. You know, you give something a one out of ten. It's probably not up your alley.

Speaker 13684.12s - 3688.58s

You gave it a one out of ten? It's pretty fucking good your alley. You gave it a one out of ten? It's pretty fucking good. That's even lower than me. I gave it too.

Speaker 63692.74s - 3698.72s

So those were our list, A through H, of Caroline's favorite shows of all time.

Speaker 53698.82s - 3701.72s

You have Happy Sugar Life, Dr. Elise, a sister is all you need.

Speaker 63701.78s - 3705.68s

You know, all the classics. And I don't think we need to say anymore.

Speaker 13706.24s - 3711.42s

No, I really wish I could have gone through the rest of my list because I'm sure people would have loved to hear it.

Speaker 63711.7s - 3719.6s

If people enjoy this weird random topic, we can bring it back. We have plenty more alphabet letters to go through.

Speaker 13719.94s - 3723.46s

There's no way we can do X, Y, Z, though.

Speaker 63723.64s - 3727.88s

Oh, we can definitely do X, Y, Z. I don't know about how many

Speaker 13727.88s - 3728.3s

I can keep you.

Speaker 63728.3s - 3730.98s

Let me scroll down my list here. It's going to take a second.

Speaker 13731.88s - 3734.6s

I mean, there's literally an anime called X.

Speaker 63735.12s - 3736.02s

I would pick that for sure.

Speaker 43736.3s - 3736.5s

X.

Speaker 13737.78s - 3739.28s

Yeah, they're out there.

Speaker 63739.32s - 3740.38s

But for my criteria.

Speaker 43741.18s - 3743.36s

Yeah, the, yeah, well, you're, yeah, I mean.

Speaker 13743.86s - 3744.96s

Then you got to watch X.

Speaker 43745.14s - 3747.74s

It's hopefully you think about it one way or another.

Speaker 13747.8s - 3751.12s

It's shame that we didn't get to M because people would love to know what my bad was for M.

Speaker 43751.92s - 3752.3s

Ooh.

Speaker 13752.58s - 3753.48s

But you know, we're going to know.

Speaker 63753.48s - 3755.42s

Well, they'll just have to get the show notes.

Speaker 43755.42s - 3755.94s

Whoa.

Speaker 63757.24s - 3759.82s

Or we'll just do the topic again if people like it.

Speaker 43760.34s - 3762.12s

Or they could just ask me on Discord.

Speaker 13762.68s - 3763.42s

Ooh, yeah.

Speaker 43764.42s - 3765.78s

That exclusive access.

Speaker 63766.96s - 3769.48s

All right.

Speaker 13769.56s - 3771.5s

Time for our weekly trivia question.

Speaker 63772.22s - 3777.84s

In the anime, Rinkai, where do the girls decide to become professional cyclists?

Speaker 13778.22s - 3784.94s

And we will give you the answer after the news break. I got so many X shows.

Speaker 63785.3s - 3786.22s

We can do it.

Speaker 13787.48s - 3787.94s

Why?

Speaker 63791.28s - 3791.84s

There's an

Speaker 13791.84s - 3794.88s

X-Man anime that's pretty fucking terrible.

Speaker 43795.38s - 3795.86s

Does I recall?

Speaker 13796.3s - 3798.54s

Then I think we're going to have to continue this time.

Speaker 63798.54s - 3799.38s

You're under arrest?

Speaker 43799.54s - 3849.88s

Your name? Come on, people. Hey, anime addicts. This is Mitsugi, and I'm bringing you your anime news break, getting it started off with a new anime that's coming out. It's called Ninja Tokoroshia No Futari Gurashi, or the life of a ninja and an assassin. So this was announced recently on the production website for the anime. It's being done by Studio Shaft. The synopsis is about a female ninja who left her village with her comrades and finds herself living in Konoha, a high school girl working as

Speaker 63849.88s - 3855.78s

an assassin in the city. Satoko possesses the ability to transform objects using Ninjutsu,

Speaker 13856.2s - 3862.2s

which catches Konoha's attention. They strike a deal. Conoha provides Satoko with a place to

Speaker 53862.2s - 3866.28s

live in exchange for Sotoko's help and cleaning up her assassination jobs.

Speaker 13866.38s - 3871.06s

So it looks like some Moe blob crap. I mean, they're basically Moe blobs in the picture.

Speaker 53872.52s - 3875.98s

But we'll have to see how this one pans out. It does look a little cute.

Speaker 13876.08s - 3883.02s

Anime Shaft is a known studio. So we'll have to see. Look out for a ninja, the life of a ninja and an assassin coming out.

Speaker 53883.02s - 3886.14s

I can only imagine at this point I'm going to guess next year.

Speaker 13886.22s - 3887.82s

They don't have a date, but that's what I would guess.

Speaker 53888.24s - 3893.58s

Next up, Gohands, which I don't know what the hell Gohands has done exactly.

Speaker 43893.78s - 3956.44s

They've produced not many anime, but they have Seitokai Yakuin Domo. It's looking at their list here. Coppellian. So a lot of anime here that we would say are pretty mid. But, you know, they have been around. They are producing an original anime called Momentary Lily. It's going to be coming outin the winter of 2025. So you got about a full year to wait. There's a trailer on X slash Twitter, whatever you want to call it. If you want to go check it out, that trailer is pretty interesting. So you can go watch it and see what Gohan's has up their sleeve this time. Next up, the Knuckles TV show came out much to the fanfare of Mitsugi, and it has been fairly well received. You can watch it on Paramount Plus. Right now, it's averaging about a 70 on Rotten Tomatoes between the critics and the fans with the fans coming in at a 76,where Knuckles the Akidna teaches Deputy Wade Whipple, the techniques of the Akidna warrior. I'm not really sure if Paramount releases all their episodes at once, but I am going to be checking this out because of obviously I love.

Speaker 03956.6s - 4027.98s

And last in the news, a new anime is coming out from the quintessential quintuplets manga. It's getting a honeymoon anime. So the fifth anniversary event, which was held in the Oklahoma Arena, recently announceduplets manga, it's getting a honeymoon anime. So the fifth anniversary event, which was held in the Yokohama Arena, recently announced that this manga, Quintentional Quintuplets, is getting that new anime, the Gotobun No Hana Yome. So it looks like there's some promo art with all of the quintessential girls all dressed up in wedding dresses, which looks really cute. They all have flowers in their hair. And I guess there's going to be another anime coming out. So look forward to more quintessential quintuplets, if you're a fan of that property. It looks like Haruba personally drafted the original story concept and is supervising all aspects of this anime, which, by the way, is about Futato and the quintessential quintuplets honeymoon trip. I guess he's going to marry all of them. Who could blame him? So we will see how that pans out probably really well when that anime releases. This is Mizu, and this was your anime newsbreak. And now time to get back to the podcast.Hey, anime addicts.

Speaker 64114.32s - 4120.48s

I don't care how important what you are saying is in real life, in anime, in any media. I don't care how touching the music is or how the character relations are being developed.

Speaker 24120.82s - 4147.74s

If you have a shot while this discussion or this meaning is being delivered or is taking place, and in the foreground of this shot, I have a bikini girl's ass in my face. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It stops mattering. So if you want to have your message, have your message. If you want to have your bikinis, have your bikinis. But bikinis, Trump.

Speaker 44148.36s - 4152.62s

She's still working on it. She really can't. She's not going to, you can't play good card.

Speaker 24152.64s - 4153.36s

I love that drop.

Speaker 44153.7s - 4187.78s

Back to the show. Welcome back to the podcast. And the anime Rinkai. Nikai. Stupid name. Where do the girls decide to be, where do they decide to become professional cyclists? This anime... Has the brain IQ of, like, a squirrel that's... Can't find the nuts in the tree. So they all decide they're going to become cyclists in an onset. So, there you go. There you go. No, the

Speaker 54187.78s - 4194.76s

Twitch did the obvious move. They were like, oh, they probably decided when they were riding their bikes. No, most of these girls don't even ride bikes.

Speaker 44196s - 4200.18s

They're just like, I'm going to become a cyclist. We'll talk about it in a minute.

Speaker 14200.82s - 4201.66s

It's like Blue Period.

Speaker 44202.34s - 4209.46s

This anime can't be worse than that. Blue, free phrase that, blue period cannot be worse than this anime, and I'm not

Speaker 14209.46s - 4210.2s

worse than this anime.

Speaker 44211.04s - 4212.7s

All right. Are you guys ready for mailbags?

Speaker 24213.54s - 4223.96s

I am, I am, I am. It's time for an almighty anime mailbag. Anime, anime, anime.

Speaker 44225.44s - 4228.34s

Mailbag, bag, bag, bag, bag, bag, bag.

Speaker 24228.62s - 4236.78s

If you'd like to submit a mailbag, you can do so at AAApodcast.com, just click on the mailbag button like raggedy doctor did.

Speaker 44237.2s - 4240.68s

He says, hey there, hosts, I want to pick your poison.

Speaker 24241.82s - 4248.22s

Would you rather watch a masterfully made anime that isn't your type of show, or would you

Speaker 44248.22s - 4253.38s

rather watch a show that is exactly the type of show you love, but is of terrible quality?

Speaker 14253.78s - 4261.54s

Basically, what matters more to you, the subject of an anime or the quality. Much love, as always, Raggedy Doctor. Mitsui.

Speaker 44263.18s - 4272.84s

Yeah, so I will always pick, assuming quality means animation, I will always pick content over animation, always.

Speaker 64273.94s - 4275.66s

It definitely doesn't just mean animation.

Speaker 44276.48s - 4277.8s

Well, what does it mean? He didn't specify.

Speaker 64278.54s - 4283.58s

Like the quality of the writing, characters, production, like the package of it.

Speaker 44283.88s - 4298.08s

Well, I'm going to, I love Raggedy Doctor, but I'm going to say this is a, production, like the package of it. Well, I'm going to... I love Raggedy Doctor, but I'm going to say this is a... I mean, how can I have a show that is exactly my type of show that I love, but it has bad quality?

Speaker 64300.08s - 4301.48s

Like Guerni.

Speaker 44302.08s - 4304.22s

Gerozini's a great anime. It's quality's fine.

Speaker 64304.88s - 4308.8s

It covers a lot of... Quality is not great. Gurzini is a great anime. It's quality's fine. It covers a lot of... Quality is not great. It's just about a topic you really enjoy.

Speaker 44309.12s - 4315.04s

Well, so how's that different? I say the animation is poor. Well, it's not even poor. It's an average, probably.

Speaker 64315.78s - 4320.94s

Like, there's not much animation. It looks kind of stocky. The music isn't that engaging. Like, it's...

Speaker 44320.94s - 4324.7s

I happen to love the theme song to Gudazeni. But the music...

Speaker 64324.7s - 4325.24s

Okay, fair. But like, during the show, it's kind of whatever. Um... I happen to love the theme song Good as any But the music Okay fair

Speaker 44325.24s - 4348.06s

But like during the show It's kind of whatever In any event It's going to be the first I would I will definitely takeThe content and a show That is up my alley Over an anime that Is like boring Like Vow at Evergarten People think people were likeOh my God It's so amazing It looks so pretty I'm like this anime was so boring I just wanted to like tear my eyes out

Speaker 64348.06s - 4353.6s

um so you're picking the second one you want to show that's up your alley with questionable

Speaker 44353.6s - 4366.3s

quality uh over a show yes although I don't I don't understand how a show can have terrible like directing and production and be written badly and still be at my alley

Speaker 14366.3s - 4373.56s

I'd be like well this is you know you're gonna end up in um uh birdie wing territory where I love

Speaker 54373.56s - 4377.64s

sports but that anime was executed like a five year old made it and so I'm like this is just stupid

Speaker 14377.64s - 4383.12s

that's kind of where I'm struggling with the question yeah I kind of agree with that because if

Speaker 44383.12s - 4391.56s

a show has really good quality then I probably would enjoy watching it no matter what the subject matter is and vice versa.

Speaker 14392.12s - 4397s

But if I had to choose, then I picked something that was my type of bad quality.

Speaker 44397.16s - 4398.6s

I don't know about terrible quality.

Speaker 14398.7s - 4431.2s

Like if it's unwatchable quality, then I'm not going to enjoy watching it no matter what. But if it's of an okay quality, I would probably rather watch that than a show that is gorgeous, but is of an okay plot to me. Besides, like, we already have to watch a ton of stuffof varying quality, so if I already like the plot, but the quality isn't, like, amazing, it's just another day for us. So, yeah, good quality would just be, ding, like the plot, but the quality isn't like amazing. It's just another day for us. So, yeah, good quality would just be, ding, like the cherry on top. Mason?

Speaker 64431.86s - 4461.24s

I feel like the point of the question has been lost. I would pick the first. I would always rather pick a show that's well made with good production values and good quality that I don't care about rather than a show that I think is like up my alley, quote unquote, that is lackluster in its production. So I am disagreeing with both of you, but on different grounds, I think. So it's kind of a word question. But thank you very much. All right.

Speaker 14461.24s - 4469.32s

Without further ado, let's get into our spring impressions. Today, we're going to be doing impressions. Impression time, believe it.

Speaker 44469.32s - 4470.38s

Yay, it's my favorite.

Speaker 14471.58s - 4517.36s

So for people who are new around here that may not understand what we do, every season we pick about seven shows each. And we just try to get a good grasp on the season. Then we each have two passes. After watching each show, like a couple episodes of each, we decide whether or not this show is going to get a full review. We could do that for two shows each. And then afterwards, we give it to the listeners to pick three more shows to add to our review roster. So passed so far, we got jellyfish, can't swim in the night, and Spice and Wolf Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf. So without, you know, let's head into our next round of impressions, starting off with who would like to go first?

Speaker 64518.04s - 4519.02s

I can go first.

Speaker 14519.32s - 4519.66s

Okay.

Speaker 64520.42s - 4526.84s

So the first show we have today is Train to the End of the World. Shumatsu Train Doco A.

Speaker 54527.08s - 4527.68s

Oh, yeah.

Speaker 64528.64s - 4820.46s

It's done by EMT squared. It's on Cruncheril, and it is an original. And I had high hopes for the show because it's directed by Sutomu Mizusima, who did Shirabako, Girls in Panzer, and Joshi Raku. And, you know, a lot of those themes, especially the dialogue of Joshi Raku, the character dichotomy of Shirobako, the girls in a mechanically moving vehicle operating it, like Girls and Panzer, it all comes through in this show. And there's a lot to like about it. Instead of your typical group of cute Moe girls in a world where nothing happens, this is a group of cute Moe girls in a world where everything is happening. So essentially the show kicks off with this reality-breaking invention of 7G. It's not 4G. It's not 5G. We're all the way up to 7-G now. And they turn on 7-G. They just hit the button and it enables it. And the entire fabric of the universe has been torn asunder. So folks are turning into objects, plants, or animals, depending on the region of Japan that they come from. Now we're in this, like, lawless wasteland where these vagabond traveling caravans bring supplies from town to town. You have the Super Mario Odyssey Kappy-esque powers where you put a hat on someone and it transforms them into another. And it's weird. The show is just wild from the get-go. And essentially, our main character, Shizuru, finds out that her long missing friend is now located in Ikebukuro. And she's like, I want to go find my friend to make sure she's still doing okay, despite our world being broken. And what is normally a $10 train ride that takes about an hour on the Sibu Chichibu line takes this multi-week month, year. I don't know how long this odyssey is to get there because the entire geography of Japan has been stretched. So nowwhat should be a little trip is now this massive undertaking. And her three best friends just see her leaving on this train. And they're like, oh, where are you going? She's like, I'm going to Ikew Bukuro to see my friend. And they're like, okay, so they just jump on the train with no preparations, no food, no planning or anything, and realize like a couple days later, they're like, oh, maybe we should have actually prepared for this in any way. Anyway, the show follows a sort of episodic but absurdist journey reminiscent of magical shopping arcade abenobashi and humanity has declined where they just make these stops at these various real world towns across japan where like they encounter just weird random stuff happening from these hippie people who are turning into mushroom-controlled death wishers to people who are like transforming into word cattle to just random things where they are just like, huh, that's weird, and then they move on. So visually the show is very solid. The mechanical operation of the train is top notch and it has a lot going for it. So I do recommend that people give train to the end of the world a shot. It's engaging, it's interesting, and it's unique. However, despite being so foundationally sound, I'm just not interested in continuing. Because for all the good ideas at play, this show, like Japan now, feels a mile wide and an inch deep, leading to just me feeling not very invested when we make all these pit stops at these poundsand then we just kind of gloss over anything that happens there's not really that much of stakes or any character drive that I'm feeling really invested in and there's a lot of real realistic ways that I'm like oh how is the train still connected if the track is so long? And now the world expands.Like, if you think about it too hard, you're not supposed to think about it kind of thing. And the whole show feels like a fever dream. And it needs solid characters to keep that going. And while the rapid banter is kind of neat, it just kind of is basic and by the numbers at times. And I don't know.I like so many elements of this show, but it just feels too minimalistic and insubstantial at the best of times and kind of unoriginal at the worst as it borrows ideas from Gulliver's Travels to just things that you've seen playing out before. So this is a quality show. I am glad it exists. I do recommend you checking out if this kind of weird journey sounds interesting to you.I'm just not giving it a passing ticket because I'm not that engaged with it currently. So I will be failing train to the end of the world. You shall not pass.

Speaker 44821.02s - 4822.18s

The train ofaku everywhere.

Speaker 54822.74s - 4822.98s

Weep.

Speaker 64823.96s - 4826.76s

Yeah, it's, I don't know.

Speaker 54826.92s - 4832.36s

It has potential and I would not be surprised if by episode eight it turned into a very different show.

Speaker 64832.96s - 4839.5s

And we come back to it. I'm like, oh, this is good now. Awesome. But three, four episodes in, it's still not doing it for me. So I'm sorry.

Speaker 14839.94s - 4843.3s

How's the quality of the dog in the show? A dog?

Speaker 64843.3s - 4843.98s

Very fluffy.

Speaker 54844.74s - 4845.62s

Very chunky.

Speaker 14848s - 4849.74s

Yeah, good dog-o.

Speaker 54849.92s - 4852.72s

If we had more dog-o, and he's pretty prevalent in there.

Speaker 64853.66s - 4854.42s

You know, I'd pass it.

Speaker 14854.46s - 4859.58s

I mean, there's a whole episode where they're wondering what this girl's hiding in her butt, so they got that going for it.

Speaker 64859.62s - 4860.72s

You heard of the man. What's next?

Speaker 14861.18s - 4865.28s

Was she hiding the dog in her butt? What? Okay.

Speaker 44865.9s - 4868.94s

Are you up Carolina? Do you want me to go? I'm not elaborating further.

Speaker 14870.14s - 5081.2s

Okay. My first show I'm going to talk about today is the many sides of voice actor radio. So let me get to my notes here. I believe this was number four on my list. So kind of in the middle there with my interest in it. It's done by Studio Connect, and it's based on a light novel. And here is the synopsis.Popular voice actress Yuhi Yugaray is an up-and-coming voice actress Yasumi Utatane just happened to attend the same school and coincidentally got placed in the same class. They are made the hosts of a weekly radio program due to this amazing ready-made premise. So they tell their listeners all about their friendship and the fun they have at school together. However, in reality, Yuhi is named Watanabe Chika and is generally standoffish and resents becoming a voice actress. And Yasumi is named Sato Yumiko and is an extroverted Giaru and is actually struggling to findvoice work. And they mutually hate each other. That is the premise of the show. So the world of voice acting I thought was really well represented in the show so far. We see the characters do their radio show, of course, as part of their jobs. But they are also doing live shows and idle performances and recording sessions, and seeing Yumiko'sperspective as a struggling member of the business has been pretty interesting, as well as seeing her and other characters critique this career, because the other voice actress in the show, Chika, her mom is not all that thrilled. She's a voice actress. But Yumiko's kind of talking to her and saying like, yeah, you're right. It's not exactly the mostreliable career. And they talk more about that, which was pretty interesting. There's a lot of back and forth between Chika and Yumiko, but in a good way, because they really don't like each other. But they do have moments of respect and support ascolleagues, so they have a good mix in their relationship. However, in the most recent third episode that I watched, they have a sleepover, and they make really good progress in becoming closer and more respectful of each other. And then suddenly there's major whiplash because Yuiko says something really terrible to Chica the next day, basically. And that completely undoes their progress. It just was so unnatural and extreme and surprising. However, also in that third episode, at the very end, there is a bit of a twist relating to what Yomiko says to Chika that kind of sets up the show to become something a little bit darker. Probably not as dark as some of the plot developments of something like, of what's it called, Oshinoko. But it's kind of going in that direction of kind of showing the darker end of being a celebrity voice actress in Japan. What else is my list here of notes? Something about this show that gives me trouble are the names, because you have the twomain characters who have stage names, Uhi Yugaray and Yudatehane, and Yasumi Utitane. And then their real names are Watanabe Chiga and Sato Yumiko. And then they have their nicknames that their fans call them, which is Yu-chan and Yachan. And when you combine it all with the fact that some of these characters are calling them by

Speaker 05081.2s - 5083.88s

their first name or their last name.

Speaker 25084.34s - 5089.86s

And the fact that some of these names sound similar to each other, I am frequently confused

Speaker 15089.86s - 5091.4s

about who they are talking about.

Speaker 55092.76s - 5099.02s

It's also strange that Yomiko and Chica are kind of leading double lives where no one in

Speaker 15099.02s - 5101.22s

their classes know that they are voice actresses.

Speaker 55101.28s - 5110.02s

It's kind of like a Hannah Montana situation. One of their classmates is even reading a magazine that has Yuhi Yugaray in it.

Speaker 15110.44s - 5159.56s

And the classmate points out, oh my gosh, that's Yuki Yugurei, and one of the most popular voice actresses. And then looks at Chica. Who is Yuhi Yugaay? And does not, has no clue that it's her.And they even do live performances. Like, people know who these people look like. They do live performances. And yet, they are careful not to post pictures of their faces on social media. So it just doesn't make much sense in that aspect. And they don't even look, they don't even make themselves look any different. It's like Superman. Like, they just put the glasses on and they take them off. And they don't even look, they don't even make themselves look any different. It's, it's like Superman. Like, they just put the glasses on and they take them off. And they literally look the same. Anyway, I think the show actually has a lot of potential. And people who like anime business shows might want to check this one out for a couple episodes.

Speaker 45159.68s - 5161.02s

Come on. What?

Speaker 15161.48s - 5161.86s

What?

Speaker 45162.06s - 5172.8s

Well, I was just thinking to myself, I'm glad you're failing this because, like, well, sorry, I buried the lead, but, uh, because it just sounds like a show about people talking on the radio just sounds so fucking boring.

Speaker 15173.26s - 5175.1s

It's really not that for the most part.

Speaker 45175.1s - 5177.86s

Like, a lot of the show is actually not their radio show.

Speaker 15178.02s - 5212.04s

They just kind of cut to it and it's more of like a, um, it's kind of like a, just a reason to get these two voice actresses to try to force this friendship because they talk about being best friends on the radio. So they try to make it so they're not lying constantly. So they're like, I know, like, we'd rather do anything but hang other than hang out with each other, but let's go eat lunch together and let's have a sleepover just so we can say that we did kind of thing. So it's mostly not radio. It's probably two minutes every episode's actually them on their radio show.

Speaker 45212.58s - 5214.62s

It's fucking called voice actor radio.

Speaker 15216.12s - 5219.98s

Is this like how anime or romance, but they never really do it, any romance?

Speaker 45220.18s - 5222.3s

Oh, there is some Yuri baiting in the show.

Speaker 15222.3s - 5241.22s

Like the aforementioned third episode where they have a sleepover, they get in the bath together. And Yumiko is very well-adowed. And Chica, not so much. So Chica is so interested in her boobs that she asks Yubiko if she can't grope her.

Speaker 55241.38s - 5245.98s

And she's literally groping her in the bath. It's weird. It's just a romance, Caroline. It's a, grope her in the bath. It's weird.

Speaker 15245.98s - 5247.18s

It's just a romance, Caroline.

Speaker 65247.7s - 5248.86s

I don't know what to tell you.

Speaker 45248.94s - 5249.72s

It's a homance.

Speaker 65250.64s - 5250.84s

Yeah.

Speaker 45250.94s - 5252.94s

How do you think Mitz and I grow are pecks?

Speaker 65253.06s - 5255.22s

We grope each other's boobas all the time.

Speaker 15255.72s - 5259.98s

That part I didn't exactly love about this show.

Speaker 65259.98s - 5260s

He's right.

Speaker 15260.22s - 5261.86s

You're just going to brush over that?

Speaker 65262.72s - 5266s

Mason drops a huge reveal about that that and you just brush over it?

Speaker 15266.9s - 5270.9s

You've gotten me very desenticized to strange comments, Mitz.

Speaker 45272.58s - 5273.06s

Damn.

Speaker 15273.5s - 5274.12s

It's your fault.

Speaker 45275.14s - 5276.32s

She's too strong.

Speaker 65276.68s - 5278.36s

She has surpassed me.

Speaker 15279.02s - 5280.24s

I must evolve.

Speaker 45282.16s - 5283.86s

No, please do not.

Speaker 15284.12s - 5284.68s

Do not.

Speaker 45285.58s - 5291.16s

I'll be continuing with the show because I do think that it has potential to be a good,

Speaker 15292.9s - 5307.74s

what's, where the, industry show, industry show. But I do have other shows. I would like to pass instead. I would not mind this being a listener choice, though, if it, I don't think it will, because I think there are other popular shows that might pass instead, but...

Speaker 45307.74s - 5309.54s

Fail that shit. Decent.

Speaker 15311.44s - 5313.66s

I am going to do a review on Ring Kai

Speaker 45313.66s - 5317.04s

which is a sub-6.0

Speaker 55317.04s - 5318.28s

anime on my anime list.

Speaker 15319.72s - 5320.9s

That gives you any idea.

Speaker 45322.48s - 5339.28s

So, oh, by the way, I'm very happy to, I mean, I don't want to watch that voice actor radio show. So, but it doesn't seemlike anybody is actually watching this. It's very far down the list as far as people watching it. So I think we're probably safe. That's probably, that's not coming back. Maybe I should have passed it then.

Speaker 05339.58s - 5340.8s

You're trying to play games?

Speaker 45341.5s - 5342.72s

I'm trying to torture you.

Speaker 05342.76s - 5343.16s

That's all.

Speaker 45343.28s - 5344.24s

Oh, well, I get,

Speaker 65344.38s - 5345.48s

no matter what. I'm already to torture you, that's all. Oh, well, I get, no matter what.

Speaker 45345.5s - 5347.3s

I'm already doing that enough this season.

Speaker 65349.36s - 5351.12s

Okay, so Rinkai.

Speaker 45351.28s - 5352.56s

It's not bad guys, geez.

Speaker 65353s - 5357.3s

This anime starts off with like a bicycle racing event,

Speaker 45358.22s - 5361.84s

which is immediately hampered by the fact that,

Speaker 05361.88s - 5363.66s

I'm not trying to make this not too long, I'm watching the clock,

Speaker 45364.16s - 5557.82s

which is immediately hampered by the fact that... I'm not trying to make this not too long. I'm watching the clock. Which is immediately hampered by the fact that cycling is just not... I should say, specifically when it's this type of cycling, is not interesting. I don't know anybody who watches this at the Olympics. No one ever talks about it. No one cares. This is the cycling where you go around...where you're mostly going around like a circular track. It's like speed cycling or whatever. So... Um... This anime starts off with them to sort of displace... mostly going around like a circular track. It's like speed cycling or whatever. So, um, this anime starts off with them just sort of displaying that sport. And there's a girl that's involved in the sport whose name is Kudume. And she's like the current champion, I guess. And, um, all these girls are watching her and they get get really, like, smitten by her, and they, you know, talk, they're talking about her, blah, blah, blah. And one night at an onsen, the, one of the girls, I think it's, I think it's Izumi. They're also, like, personalityless that I can't keep their name straight, but I think it's Izumi. There's a bunch of these girls, though. There's, like, six of them. And they're all in this hot tub and they're all naked. I'm thinking, I'm thinking, this is where we go immediately with the sports anime containing women. I'm just, like, there's no reason why girls can't have a really good anime, like a haiku or a major or something, but it just never seems to pan out. Even Princess Nine, which is that old classic baseball show, ultimately just ended up being about, like, who liked who. And it was barely about the fucking baseball. And now we're, like, four minutes into this anime, and I've got a lengthy hot spring scene where all these girls are sitting naked. I'm like, this can't... I was just like, this is wild. And then, and then, like, as if by some ridiculous whim, they just decide that they're all going to become professional cyclists, even though, to my knowledge, half these girls don't even cycle. And then to top it off, Kudume, the girl that they all idolized, the older lady, basically stands up and turns the corner, because she's been sitting in the onsen the whole time listening to them gush about her and how all this, and she just happens to be in the onsen and walks past them all stark-ass naked, you know, and turns around and says something cool, I can't remember what it was,or like, I'll see you on the road or something like that. And then, like, walks away, and then they all fucking freak out about it. Then, as if that wasn't already stupid enough, this girl, and I know it's anime, and, you know, Panquet gets on me a lot about this, about how, like, taking things too seriously, but, like, it is not really a silly show. It's about, like, people trying to have a dream and go become professional athlete. Like, it's not really a goofy story, but the one girl who's essentially getting ready to go to college is having this driving turmoil inside of her where she can't decide if she wants to go be a professional cyclistor if she wants to go to college. And I look at it and I'm thinking, there's a couple of things about this whole event that are stupid. One, she can't decide. So she writes a letter to Kudume, the cyclistgirl, and literally tries to get this other woman to make her very important life decision for her. And I'm like, who mail...

Speaker 05557.82s - 5565.04s

I'm like, how do you have her address for one thing? And second, who mails somebody else and puts that responsibility on them?

Speaker 45567.06s - 5571.06s

Like, you barely know this person? Like, you need to make your own fucking life choices.

Speaker 15571.34s - 5572.9s

But... And I have a question. Yeah.

Speaker 45573.62s - 5576.74s

This girl has never actually cycled before.

Speaker 15578.56s - 5581.16s

I can't remember if they said she had cycled or not,

Speaker 45581.26s - 5589.22s

but the impression I got was that she hadn't. And so that leads me to my second question. We'll ask your question, but I think it's going to be the same thing I'm about to say.

Speaker 05590.58s - 5592.18s

Oh, no, that was my question. I was just wondering.

Speaker 65592.38s - 5594.04s

Like, she's ridden a bike before.

Speaker 15594.22s - 5603.84s

She just hasn't competed in track cycling. But it's plainly obvious that she has not invested in this sport enough to even consider not going to college for it.

Speaker 45606.6s - 5607.7s

But continue.

Speaker 05608.04s - 5612.22s

My thing is that, like, mostly if you're going to be a professional athlete in anything,

Speaker 15612.36s - 5616.12s

it doesn't matter what it is, golf, biking, basketball, whatever,

Speaker 05616.68s - 5618.74s

you're pretty much doing it from pretty young.

Speaker 15618.9s - 5623.36s

And by that, I mean, there are some people you hear of that are, like, freak of nature

Speaker 45623.36s - 5640.92s

athletes that can just take up like basketball at like 15 and they're just a god at it and they're just naturally gifted and the five or six or seven years before they go to college or whatever is enough to get them into the pros but like that is not the case for 99 out of 99.9% of people that play professional sports right

Speaker 65640.92s - 5649.52s

they're not just warroing out of bed and they're gifted at it so especially at the Olympic level. Right. So this girl, for her to even be deciding to do this or not

Speaker 45649.52s - 5721.02s

at age 17 is ridiculous. She's obviously going to go to college because that ship has sailed. Like you would have had to have started cycling at like age 10 probably. Anyway, it's just silly. Basically, the anime, just the, also the biking scenes where they're biking are really, like, horribly CG animated. They look really terrible. And, but more than anything, it's just not an interesting sport. Like, even badminton is interesting as hell compared to this. And I think badminton is a total snooze. You know, I got a snooze drop in here somewhere for that. But, you know, it's just, here it is. This is basically how I feel about riding around in a circle on a bike. Yoomushi pedal was so much better because it had uphill sections, downhill sections. People crashed. You know, they had some shonen antics they threw in there, but that's not going to be the case in this very, very shortanime. Rinkai is a, does the case in this very, very short anime. Rinkai is a, does feel like a sub 6.0 anime, not only because it doesn't look good, but also because they just refuse to, like, I don't know, put girls in these sports shows and make them serious. It's just a joke every time, and it's getting pretty old.

Speaker 55722.4s - 5723.9s

No, God!

Speaker 65725.9s - 5726.12s

No, God, please no! No, God! No, God! Please no!

Speaker 55729.44s - 5730.08s

No! No! No!

Speaker 35732.28s - 5732.36s

It's like Lady Emery mentioned, you know,

Speaker 65733.72s - 5735.64s

like that hockey anime, the Pouda Odeh or whatever?

Speaker 35736.06s - 5737.48s

I think that's... Cry of Orange? Yeah.

Speaker 45737.74s - 5740.3s

It's like, she's like, are these girls

Speaker 65740.3s - 5743.46s

going to become an idol group? They very well might, honestly.

Speaker 35743.66s - 5750s

It could happen. So, and also, someone asked me on the Discord, this, the synopsis says this takes place

Speaker 65750s - 5753.16s

during the post-war period, there is no fucking way.

Speaker 45753.28s - 5755.06s

This is absolutely like modern Japan.

Speaker 65755.06s - 5761.02s

Technically, we're in a post-war period because it's after a war, but it's not like within

Speaker 45761.02s - 5762.2s

the couple months after.

Speaker 65762.7s - 5765.86s

They make it sound like they're like rebuilding Tokyo during this anime.

Speaker 45766.04s - 5768.8s

That is not, I don't know what they're doing.

Speaker 65768.9s - 5770.56s

They're just not proofreading these synopsies.

Speaker 45771.52s - 5773.2s

I assume Mason's next.

Speaker 65774.68s - 5775.46s

Yep, that's me.

Speaker 45776.92s - 5781.12s

The next show I am talking about today is Girls Band Cry.

Speaker 65781.52s - 5789.48s

This is done by Toy Animation. It is another original piece. and it is still not streaming

Speaker 55789.48s - 5796.16s

anywhere legally. So it's a little bit difficult to find. You're only going to see fan subtitles for

Speaker 65796.16s - 5882.34s

now. Hopefully we get some better ones in the future. But all that being said, you could easily look at this show and be one of the people that says, this show stinks because it looks ugly. And the last thing you need for me to tell you is that you'd be wrong twice in one sentence because I enjoy this show. In fact, I enjoy it quite a bit. I actually am enjoying it a lot more than the much adored bang dream. It's my go from last year. And I just think it's good. The characters are very solid. They are set in a world that feels realistic where fairies aren't sprinkling melodrama dust and everyone's beef bowl. Like these characters have issues. They have their drama. But it is not feeling so blown out and anime as a lot of these tend to be. This is a band show. It's about a group of people getting together to play music. And I like it. It tickles kind of this amusement of these clueless girls as these very Kauai Moe charactersare literally full finger flipping people off and you're like, ha ha, that's pretty neat. And there's just this undercurrent of believability in a lot of how the show presents itself, partially because of that kind of weird, unique visual strength of its CG, which I think it's cool. Yes, sometimes the CG effects don't look amazing. It looks like a PS2 era persona cutscene at times. Uh, yeah. Sometimes

Speaker 45882.34s - 5887.14s

our main character gets a little rambunctious and a little angry.

Speaker 55887.14s - 5892.18s

And she gets this like little dark like lines filtering out of her back like she's a

Speaker 45892.18s - 5893.06s

freaking hedgehog.

Speaker 55893.26s - 5898.5s

Like some of it is not quite the best, but it does look good.

Speaker 65900.38s - 6046.46s

And it's very just unique in how it's done. Yes, some of the industrial strength light bulbs are strained my believability. Yes, they use a single drum set model for all the performances. Yeah, it's not perfect. But that said, even the moments that are a little bit tiring like this main character who keeps on quitting the band that they're forming,it's kind of used as a joke where she keeps them running away at any sign of difficulty to the point where at the end is she'll run out and quit on them and they'll just be standing there waiting like she'll be back in two seconds and then she arrives back. So yeah, it's a little playing up to the what we already know this genre goes for, but it's doing it very well. The biggest gripe I honestly have is that the performances that they do seem veryshoehorned and kind of pushed in. For example, in episode one, it's musicians that play on the street. You know, you find a street corner and you plug in your amp and you play for people walking by. And those are not uncommon to find around Japan. So early in episode one, this lady's performing her guitar, and she's like encroaching on the turf of these other people. And they get in a bit of a spat, and they're like literally chasing each other through the streets because they're like, she's like, hey, get out of my corner. And at the end of the episode, with like two minutes left, they impractically meet up and join that group to play a song. And it just feels very forth. And they're like, oh, shoot, we need to have a big dramatic music moment. So let's just put it in here. And it doesn't sound like a life performance. It sounds hypercrystalline and produced and just not authentic. But all these issues aside, all that, you know, ranting and raving.I like the characters. I like seeing their chemistry. It seems like they are having the potential to grow beyond the stereotypical arc we've seen a thousand times with this show. I didn't set out to pass two full shows of girls just making their way in Tokyo. But honestly, between this and what I passed last week in jellyfish, they just seem to bereally well-produced, well-realized shows that I'm enjoying watching, and I'm curious to see how they turn out. So I will be passing Girls Band Cry because it's good. It's just a good show that makes you feel good. And I have no idea how it's going to turn out. And we'll find out when we review it in a couple weeks.

Speaker 56046.46s - 6047.98s

I think I've ever been this excited.

Speaker 66048.18s - 6050.42s

You're excited. Feel these nipples.

Speaker 56052.66s - 6053.66s

I'm sorry, Mitz.

Speaker 66053.94s - 6055.14s

You got all the moa.

Speaker 46055.44s - 6056.78s

You got all the moa this season.

Speaker 56057.98s - 6060.02s

Why do you do it to me?

Speaker 66060.82s - 6061.34s

I don't know.

Speaker 46061.54s - 6064.22s

It just looks funky.

Speaker 66064.38s - 6066.6s

It looks weird and I like weird stuff.

Speaker 46067.48s - 6067.92s

Okay.

Speaker 66069.52s - 6070.84s

It's okay. You can skip this one.

Speaker 46070.84s - 6072.96s

Caroline, you're up. All right.

Speaker 16073.68s - 6132.18s

My number one pick for this season was Kaiju number eight for obvious reasons. It was definitely one of the most anticipated non-sequel shows of this season. Being done by production IG based off a manga. And here's the synopsis. For many years, Kaiju have been attacking Japan. Kafka Hebe No has long dreamed of being in the defense corps to take down Kaiju and protectcivilians. However, after many failed application attempts and now 32 years old, he has resigned himself to working in the cleanup crew disposing remains of kaiju. A recent hire to his crew named Ijikawa also has dreams of fighting kaiju, and after a monster encounter, Kofka suddenly becomes able to turn into a kaiju himself, and now with superhero abilities, he is motivated to pursue his dream once again. So overall, the world is pretty cool. I know we've had kaiju anime before.

Speaker 56133s - 6135.74s

I think this is the first one I've seen that has a cleanup crew in it.

Speaker 16136.18s - 6148.26s

And honestly, I think that part is pretty interesting. It doesn't shy away from some of the grossness that you don't really think about, like the fact that they have to clean out the digestive tract of this massive animal.

Speaker 46148.34s - 6149.46s

Put them on intestine duty.

Speaker 16150.28s - 6152.16s

Yeah, that's kind of the thing.

Speaker 46152.32s - 6154.86s

It's like nobody wants to be on that part of the kaiju.

Speaker 16154.86s - 6212.38s

And, like, you know, the fact that they have to rope off several portions of the city every single time and people are annoying, like, I can't believe it's going to take a whole week to clean up this monster. But that's just how it is in this world where monster attacks are very frequent. The suits in the defense corps that they wear to fight the kaiju, they're pretty cool. They kind of take out, like, it depends on how much latent ability that you have or that you have discovered and then it kind of bases it on that, how much more strengthyou're given, and you can like run on walls and that kind of stuff. I do think that it's a little strange that the fighters in the defense corps, they're treated like celebrities. Like there's one character that I'll get into in a second that is like the top captain and she's going on talk shows and and the people are like watching her, like she's being followed by paparazzi and that kind of stuff. It's kind of, I don't know, that part was a little weird.

Speaker 66212.98s - 6214.06s

They're like little superheroes.

Speaker 16215.22s - 6217.22s

Yeah, I guess, but I don't know.

Speaker 66217.3s - 6222.7s

It feels like since it's, it kind of feels like they're, like a normal police officer because

Speaker 16222.7s - 6229.6s

of how frequent the kaiju attacks are. It's basically just a normal police officer being flaunted around like a celebrity it's kind of

Speaker 46229.6s - 6235.9s

I don't know um have either have you seen planetess I have yeah have you watch it

Speaker 16235.9s - 6241.84s

amazing have you watched any of this Mason this anime no but I've read the manga I have some

Speaker 46241.84s - 6247s

of it you getting any planetess vibes sort of cleanup? No, it's not quite the same.

Speaker 16247.14s - 6250.84s

I think it's only the first couple episodes that they really follow the cleanup career.

Speaker 46250.94s - 6252.06s

At least that's the impression I get.

Speaker 16252.14s - 6254.44s

They're probably going to not be following them very much.

Speaker 66254.44s - 6255.38s

Yeah, it's not a recurring.

Speaker 16255.76s - 6257.9s

What are we going to clean up this week kind of thing?

Speaker 66258.26s - 6261.78s

Yeah, and honestly, that probably would be an interesting show.

Speaker 46261.78s - 6263.28s

Oh, I thought it sounded so cool.

Speaker 66263.84s - 6263.98s

Okay.

Speaker 16264.06s - 6264.34s

Yeah.

Speaker 46264.92s - 6265.22s

All right. Fuck it. I agree I thought it sounded so cool. Okay. Yeah. All right.

Speaker 66265.58s - 6265.86s

Fuck it.

Speaker 56266.28s - 6266.92s

I agree.

Speaker 16267.02s - 6268.34s

That part was actually kind of interesting.

Speaker 66269.44s - 6273.26s

Right off the bat, I thought I was going to hate Ichikawa, which is like the

Speaker 16273.26s - 6278.56s

newbie on the cleanup crew, because he's like instantly rude and standoffish and overly

Speaker 66278.56s - 6282.68s

critical of Kafka and just gives me asshole vibes.

Speaker 46283.18s - 6287.54s

But very quickly gets humbled and he is now my favorite character.

Speaker 16288.32s - 6292.06s

Mostly because he and Kafka are a great as a duo.

Speaker 46292.36s - 6296.16s

Like, they play off each other very well, as far as I can see.

Speaker 16296.54s - 6300.82s

Kafka individually, unfortunately, I don't like as much.

Speaker 06301.72s - 6306.8s

At first, I had no problem with him, but he has a lot of over-the-top reactions

Speaker 16306.8s - 6327.6s

for comedy reasons, and it's so frequent, and it gets so old, and it's like that kind of screaming, like, wild reaction to silly things. I just, I could do without it. As a character, I think he's fine. Some of his facial expressions are kind of good. I just wish he would just pipe down a little bit.

Speaker 26328.76s - 6329.84s

Just bring it down a little bit.

Speaker 16334s - 6365.66s

So I mentioned one of the Defense Corps captains before, this is the childhood friend of Kafka's named Mina. Aside from flashbacks where they both promised to be in the core together. Very shonen. Yeah. Yeah, but she's the only one that made it, and he's been in cleanup crew for years. We haven't learned much about her yet, but she does have a white tiger as a pet that fights Kaiju with her.And I just need an explanation on that. Because it comes out of nowhere. Like, you don't even know that she has a white tiger on by her side.

Speaker 06370.4s - 6378.36s

Then all of a sudden, during a monster attack, there is suddenly a white tiger and you're like wondering, where the hell did this tiger come from? But it's apparently like kind of like her assistant in these fights.

Speaker 16379.36s - 6385.36s

And I'm just wondering what part of this world makes this normal.

Speaker 06385.48s - 6386.78s

Like, I know there are monster attacks.

Speaker 66386.78s - 6387.72s

Probably the monsters.

Speaker 16388.28s - 6391.46s

Yeah, but this is a tiger. Like, is it, is it a kajou?

Speaker 46391.6s - 6395.28s

Is it even a relevant? It looks like a tiger. How's a tiger supposed to fight a kajou?

Speaker 16395.94s - 6398.34s

It just jumps on it in closet space. That's all.

Speaker 46399.3s - 6400.7s

Are they like tiny kajus?

Speaker 16400.82s - 6407.54s

Because most kajus I know ever like Godzilla size. There are like varying sizes of kaiju in this show.

Speaker 56407.54s - 6412.86s

Like they have different, you know, tier levels for them in terms of danger.

Speaker 46413.04s - 6414.9s

Some of them are like massive like Godzilla.

Speaker 16415.22s - 6427.12s

Some of them are, you know, like, well, the one that that makes Kafka into a kaiju, I think is basically like, it's kind of small, you know? Kind of just flying in front of his face.

Speaker 46427.34s - 6430.08s

Sounds like a zombie. What was that?

Speaker 16430.76s - 6431.18s

Zombie

Speaker 46431.18s - 6434.08s

Kaiju. I don't know about that.

Speaker 16434.18s - 6436.98s

It doesn't really do the zombie thing where it bites you.

Speaker 46437.22s - 6442.1s

It actually, the kaiju actually forces himself inside of

Speaker 06442.1s - 6443.1s

Kafka's mouth.

Speaker 46443.32s - 6445.28s

That's how he becomes a kaiju.

Speaker 16445.36s - 6446s

Oh, he did?

Speaker 46446.7s - 6447.02s

Yeah.

Speaker 16447.12s - 6448.22s

Did anybody go to the police?

Speaker 46449.52s - 6451.44s

No, because, okay, so they were in a possible...

Speaker 16451.44s - 6452.52s

I am the police.

Speaker 46452.64s - 6454.28s

Writing down, opening...

Speaker 16454.28s - 6455.14s

They are in...

Speaker 46455.14s - 6459.06s

They were attacked by a big kajou,

Speaker 16459.18s - 6460.74s

and I'm thinking in this incident,

Speaker 46460.96s - 6464.38s

this is the incident that's going to turn Kofka into a kaiju

Speaker 06464.38s - 6471.6s

is going to get bitten, whatever happens to make somebody turn into a kaiju. But no, the kajou is defeated by the white tiger thing, I think.

Speaker 16473.06s - 6481.9s

And then they are in the hospital room recovering because they're both injured. And then another kaiju appears and forces himself down Kafka's mouth, as I said.

Speaker 46482.12s - 6483.68s

And that's how he becomes the kaiju.

Speaker 16483.68s - 6486s

So they're two unrelated incidents.

Speaker 46486.18s - 6486.68s

Is it a tenicle?

Speaker 16486.68s - 6600.96s

From what I've seen, there might be some sort of connection between them. But from what I've seen so far, there are two unrelated kaiju incidents that occur on the same night. Just so happens. They're divided by a curtain, Ichikawa and Kafka. So Ichikawa, like, throws the curtain aside because he hears Kafka, like, in pain from being, you know, from having the kaiju in his mouth. And so, and so immediately he wipes him in the curtain, and then Kafka, like, turns his head, and he's in full kaiju mode, and they freak out, and that was kind of funny. Like, as I've said, good facial expressions there. Other than that, like, the side characters, they seem a little bit tropey right now. Like there's a Sundaree with blonde pigtails, which I don't know. She could become interesting because she's very powerful. Like she's like a prodigy, a kajoo fighter. But she's also really annoying, like the way the Sundaries often are. There's a guy whose eyes are always closed, and seems nice, but he's probably like a sociopath of some sort. And then there's a guy who looks like he's in the yakuza, et cetera. It's just, yeah, they could turn out to be fine. The pigtail girl kind of concerns me a little bit. Not a huge fan of her. But yeah, three episodesin, Kafka and Ichikawa have not gotten into the core yet. Kafka's Kai-du ability is still a secret because they know if they, once they reveal it, they're going to be, like, guns are going to be blazing. He's probably going to be dead in five seconds. I hope that they could get to the part where he is suddenly a part of the defense corps soon because three episodes in, it's only a one core season. You kind of want to get into the good fighting stuff. But it's easily one of the more exciting shows this season. So I'm going to get a pass. There you go.

Speaker 46602.08s - 6605.82s

Now you're a Kai-Doo, a Kai-Kai-Kai-K-Du.

Speaker 16606.36s - 6610s

Yeah, I actually watched part of this show already, and I thought it was pretty good.

Speaker 46610.22s - 6611.28s

So I would have passed it also.

Speaker 16612.32s - 6616.46s

Wait a minute, so why were you acting surprised that he forced himself down his throat?

Speaker 46616.46s - 6617.14s

I don't think it didn't get that far.

Speaker 16618.16s - 6619.8s

You didn't even get to the end of the episode?

Speaker 46620.22s - 6632.64s

I saw episode one, but I also fall asleep a lot while I'm watching anime in bed. I watch part of episode two, but it's kind of fuzzy because I fell asleep. All right, am I up again here?

Speaker 06633.18s - 6634.26s

Okay, I'm up.

Speaker 56634.46s - 6635.04s

Bartender.

Speaker 06635.84s - 6637.9s

Bartender. Bartender.

Speaker 46639.56s - 6716.56s

The glass of God. What the fuck? Oh, bartender. What can I say about you that hasn't already been said from the prior anime?Basically, this anime is about a company, I think, that wants to find the perfect bartender for their new bar slash hotel slash whatever. Anyway, so they have like, you know, they're doing interviews or whatever where the person has to come in and mix a drink and show their skills. drink and show their skills. And the guy that's like interviewing them is super picky. And so he doesn't really want to take just anybody. So he rejects everybody, like the entire city of Tokyo, basically I would say. And it's like, I'm thinking, dude, like a lot of these bartenders look fine. Like, why are youbeing such a prick? They never say why other than the fact that they have just extremely over romanticized the entire activity of bartending. Because, like, it's not that hard, right?

Speaker 06716.74s - 6742.46s

So, you know, you go to the bar, you order a whiskey and soda. They make you a whiskey soda. That's 90% of bartending activities or like opening a beer bottle. It's not like making seven layered liqueur drinks like this guy's doing in this anime. So I had a whiskey soda last night. It was good. It was overpriced. It was good though. And there's this guy that works

Speaker 46742.46s - 6794.04s

for a place called Eden Hall. And I'm wondering if he's the same reuse Sasakura that was in the original bartender. Because I'm not sure if this is an exact remake or not, or if, let me see, reu Sasakura. Yeah, that's the same guy. It's probably the exact same story. Yeah, it is.This guy's the exact same anime. So basically, this reused Sasakura guy is pretty awesome at making drinks, and he does things that are impossible, like L from Death Note, where he just like look at you and go, I can tell that based on the ruffles on your skirt, that today was a really hard day at work for you.And because you are ages 20 to 25, I know that you're really trying hard in your career to become a vice president. And so I think you needed a drink that embodied relaxation but perseverance. So I made you...

Speaker 06794.04s - 6798.58s

This is literally what happens. So I made you a Cosmo or something.

Speaker 46798.8s - 6806.24s

And he'll hand it to him. And then they drink it and they have the Food Wars orgasm face thing where they just

Speaker 06806.24s - 6813.8s

like the background changes and they just freak out about some like you know um and that's like all that happens

Speaker 46813.8s - 6862.4s

basically for the three episodes for the most part I mean uh they they do bring this old guy down to assess him and I'm and I haven't seen the original bartender so I'm not sure if they're going to pick him or notbut at this point they haven't um this anime is fine I actually don't mind watching it at all uh it's um it's pretty good actually to be perfectly honestI think I find the romantic the romanticization of bartending to be a little ridiculous. Really, you're just making a fucking drink and there's nothing hard about it. The people at any general bar will make you a Moscow mule by pouring vodka and ginger beer with ice in a mug and putting like a thing of...

Speaker 06862.4s - 6869.92s

I love a Moscow mule. And putting a tiny mint leaf on it. It's not hard okay i can do it in my living room with no training at all so i don't know why this guy is so like an

Speaker 46869.92s - 6892.84s

anal retentive about the uh who he picks but i think it's because they need to like elevate this guy to like a godlike level in order to make him you know something worth watching on tv that said this anime is kind of boring um so i'm not going to pass it i really expect that i'm hoping that i have another show left that's better than this and if there isn't maybe i'll come back to

Speaker 16892.84s - 6901.34s

this but for the moment i'm definitely not after radio yeah definitely not sorry uh i tell you what

Speaker 46901.34s - 6912.52s

i will pass voice actor radio if If Mason trades out girls band cry. Mason just gave me a look. For, for what show?

Speaker 66912.62s - 6915.82s

I don't know. That was a scary look.

Speaker 46915.9s - 6919.44s

All right, so I'm failing bartender. It is a travesty.

Speaker 66919.74s - 6921.18s

Yeah, I like the original bartender.

Speaker 46921.26s - 6922.56s

I haven't checked this one out, though.

Speaker 66922.76s - 6923.84s

I think it's the exact same.

Speaker 46924.34s - 6925.72s

So it looks

Speaker 66925.72s - 6929.82s

like they literally copy pasted the synopsis on my anime list they didn't even bother rewriting it

Speaker 46929.82s - 6935.68s

so i'm just gonna take a guess this is exactly exact one-to-one copy bartender is

Speaker 66935.68s - 6941.9s

back the original one when i watch it the perfect put it on red iser like getting into bed

Speaker 46941.9s - 6945.34s

and you'll just like go to sleep to it and it's just

Speaker 66945.34s - 6951.14s

it's just calm it's peaceful and it just it's soothing and do they still do the thing at like

Speaker 46951.14s - 6955.46s

the end of each episode that tell you like how exactly to make the drink um no i don't think

Speaker 66955.46s - 6960.4s

i just like just with the ingredients or something no no i don't think so doesn't matter

Speaker 46960.4s - 6964.9s

no they're saving it for the uh for the book the hard back book they're going to put out there you

Speaker 66964.9s - 6965.12s

go perfect animated drink too though it may exist already figure out, they're saving it for the book, the hardback book that we're going to put out. There you go.

Speaker 56965.56s - 6966.98s

Perfect animated drink, too, though.

Speaker 66967.14s - 6968.04s

It may exist already.

Speaker 46968.04s - 6968.48s

Figure out what they're drinking.

Speaker 66968.78s - 6968.9s

Yeah.

Speaker 46969.54s - 6971.94s

It definitely makes you thirsty for like a drink, for sure.

Speaker 66974.06s - 6974.96s

Mason, do you have one more?

Speaker 46975.92s - 6976.98s

I have one more.

Speaker 66977.18s - 6982.4s

I'll make this quick because I've already used both my passes, so this isn't going to fail.

Speaker 46982.52s - 6983.02s

Spoilers.

Speaker 66983.4s - 6983.72s

Sorry.

Speaker 46983.72s - 6991.78s

This is Mysteries, Maidens, and Mysterious and mysterious disappearances streaming on cruncheril based on a manga and done by Studio ZeroG.

Speaker 66993.78s - 6995.76s

This show is not bad.

Speaker 46996.24s - 7005s

But unfortunately falls into a show of characters that are trying to be kind of quirky and unique

Speaker 67005s - 7007.86s

and just don't quite cut it.

Speaker 07008.58s - 7011.7s

And therefore you see a show that's trying a little bit too hard

Speaker 17011.7s - 7014.7s

and not succeeding and it's a little off.

Speaker 07014.8s - 7017.98s

So essentially it's a mystery kind of show

Speaker 17017.98s - 7020.26s

where these two characters go around,

Speaker 67020.56s - 7022.98s

getting into all these supernatural events

Speaker 07022.98s - 7024.96s

and trying to figure out, you know,

Speaker 67027.08s - 7107.24s

what the cause is behind it. So, for example, episode one, this bookstore operator finds this forbidden tome. She reads out loud at just the perfect conditions that trigger the magical spell. So then she starts regressing an age to her childlike form. And they're like, oh, no, what are we going to do? Solve the mystery kind of thing. And so far from what I've seen, just the mysteries are kind of unrewarding. The fans' harvest is very lazy. There's a lot of weird male-gazeness to this show. And like I said, just the missing of the tonality when it's trying to be quirky and it's not. It tries to be dark and edgy. It's not. It's not.The characters are kind of subpar. The dialogue's kind of subpar. It's a fine show. If you do like that scratching of the edge of the mirror coach on, the dark gathering, the shows of urban dark fantasy, it definitely has that in spade. So it's worth giving a look at. But if that kind of thing doesn't automatically appeal to you, I think this is one of theweaker options of the batch. And it just didn't do much for me, especially compared to the other shows I watched the season. So I will be failing mysterious disappearances. We did it.

Speaker 47107.38s - 7112.16s

Yeah. That's all their impressions for today. Got one more week of them.

Speaker 67112.76s - 7114.22s

Yeah, so I still have a few left.

Speaker 47114.34s - 7124.48s

I mean, I've got Oi Tonbo Sandland. And I don't think I did re Monster yet. Nope, you got both of those.

Speaker 67124.72s - 7125.68s

Or all of those, I should say.

Speaker 47125.68s - 7126.38s

I've done quite a bit.

Speaker 67126.38s - 7130.42s

I still have a condition called love, which I was going to talk about today when I forgot.

Speaker 17130.52s - 7131.66s

I didn't even watch it.

Speaker 67132.7s - 7136.62s

Hence the reason Mason had to use his second pass today to cover my mistakes.

Speaker 17137.76s - 7145.82s

And also, go-lose-ranger and a salad bowl of eccentrics. So I got a lot to talk about next week.

Speaker 67146.42s - 7157.78s

And next week I'll tell you guys why Windbreaker didn't pass. But I'll also talk about some of the good shows I am watching the season that aren't up for reviews. So we'll have some positivity.

Speaker 47158.68s - 7170.8s

Oh yeah, and that Knuckles anime came out and it's got like a 70 on Rotten Tomatoes. So that's pretty good. I guess it's not really an anime. It's not animated fully. All right, get us out of here, Caroline.

Speaker 07170.8s - 7175.2s

We can't hear about that on hobby addicts, I'm presuming. Oh, you bet you're a sweet Bippy.

Speaker 47176.4s - 7181.78s
